FoxNews.com reports that
One of the nation’s top Christian magazine publications called for the removal of President Trump on Thursday, one day after the House of Representatives passed two articles of impeachment against him.
In an editorial titled “Trump Should Be Removed From Office,” Christianity Today editor-in-chief Mark Galli invoked the mission of the magazine’s founder, Billy Graham, to “help evangelical Christians interpret the news in a manner that reflects their faith.”
“We want CT to be a place that welcomes Christians from across the political spectrum, and reminds everyone that politics is not the end and purpose of our being,” Galli wrote. “That said, we do feel it necessary from time to time to make our own opinions on political matters clear—always, as Graham encouraged us, doing so with both conviction and love. We love and pray for our president, as we love and pray for leaders (as well as ordinary citizens) on both sides of the political aisle.”
Galli acknowledged that Democrats “have had it out for [Trump] from day one” and that the president “did not have a serious opportunity to offer his side of the story” during the impeachment process.
However, “the facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral,” Galli said.
He explained, “The reason many are not shocked about this is that this president has dumbed down the idea of morality in his administration. He has hired and fired a number of people who are now convicted criminals. He himself has admitted to immoral actions in business and his relationship with women, about which he remains proud. His Twitter feed alone—with its habitual string of mischaracterizations, lies, and slanders—is a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused.”
Democrats said Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate the dealings of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter in that country, withholding aid for a time as part of a “quid-pro-quo.” Trump and the White House repeatedly have denied doing anything wrong.
Galli recalled a CT piece written in 1998 during then-President Clinton’s impeachment, reading, “Unsavory dealings and immoral acts by the president and those close to him have rendered this administration morally unable to lead.”
“Unfortunately, the words that we applied to Mr. Clinton 20 years ago apply almost perfectly to our current president,” Galli continued. “Whether Mr. Trump should be removed from office by the Senate or by popular vote next election—that is a matter of prudential judgment. That he should be removed, we believe, is not a matter of partisan loyalties but loyalty to the Creator of the Ten Commandments.”
The CT editor-in-chief urged his readers to remind themselves “you are and whom you serve,” warning them by asking “will anyone take anything we say about justice and righteousness with any seriousness for decades to come” if they don’t “reverse course” with their support of Trump.
“We have reserved judgment on Mr. Trump for years now. Some have criticized us for our reserve… To use an old cliché, it’s time to call a spade a spade, to say that no matter how many hands we win in this political poker game, we are playing with a stacked deck of gross immorality and ethical incompetence,” Galli wrote. “Just when we think it’s time to push all our chips to the center of the table, that’s when the whole game will come crashing down. It will crash down on the reputation of evangelical religion and on the world’s understanding of the gospel. And it will come crashing down on a nation of men and women whose welfare is also our concern.”
Well, if you had ever wanted more proof that the Social Justice Movement has infiltrated American Christianity…there it is.
That whirring sound that you are hearing is America’s Pastor, the Reverend Billy Graham, spinning in his grave.
The thing is, a story found at The Christian Post in 2018 shows that President Trump understands more about the God of Abraham that Liberals like Mr. Galli, want to believe that he does.s.
In an interview with CBN News shortly after Trump held a celebration for the National Day of Prayer in the Rose Garden, Pence said the president has encouraged praying in the White House by personally promoting the practice himself.
“There’s prayer going on on a regular basis in this White House. And it’s one of the most meaningful things to me, whether it’s public meetings or not, I’ve lost count of the number of times that the president has nudged me, or nudged another member of the Cabinet and said, ‘Let’s start this meeting with prayer,'” Pence said.
Dr. James Dobson, the Christian Leader who founded “Focus on the Family”, said before the 2016 Presidential Election about Trump’s faith that
Only the Lord knows the condition of a person’s heart. I can only tell you what I’ve heard. First, Trump appears to be tender to things of the Spirit. I also hear that Paula White has known Trump for years and that she personally led him to Christ. Do I know that for sure? No. Do I know the details of that alleged conversion? I can’t say that I do. But there are many Christian leaders who are serving on a faith advisory committee for Trump in the future. I am among them. There are about 25 of us that include Jerry Falwell, Jr., Robert Jeffress, Jack Graham, Ben Carson, James Robison, Michele Bachmann, and many others whom you would probably know. We’ve all agreed to serve. How will that play out if Trump becomes president? I don’t know. It is a good start, I would think.
If anything, this man is a baby Christian who doesn’t have a clue about how believers think, talk and act. All I can tell you is that we have only two choices, Hillary or Donald. Hillary scares me to death. And, if Christians stay home because he isn’t a better candidate, Hillary will run the world for perhaps eight years. The very thought of that haunts my nights and days. One thing is sure: we need to be in prayer for our nation at this time of crisis.
Dr. Dobson was not alone.
The thought of Hillary becoming President of the United States of America scared a lot of Americans…and still does.
But, I digress…
So, why are Christian Americans still supporting President Trump?
According to Mr. Galli, he is nothing but a flawed man.
News Flash, Mr. Galli…WE ALL ARE.
Our Salvation is not determined by the support of our American President…but, by God’s Grace.
As Christians we are instructed to individually listen to that “Still Small Voice” inside us.
While Christians, in church and outside of it, represent the corporate Body of Christ, according to scripture, we each possess the Spiritual Gifts of Free Will and Discernment.
These gifts are used by each of us on a daily basis, including aiding in our decision to continue to support President Trump.
Unlike Liberals and Marxists (but, I may be repeating myself), we do not make our political decisions or vote as a collective, nor should we.
There were no Saints who ran in 2016 for the President of the United States of America, on either side.
And, there are certainly no Saints vying to be the Democratic Party Candidate for President in 2020.
Our choice in 2016 was between a flawed man, as we all are, and a woman…a very mean and evil woman.
When President Trump, like the rest of Christian Americans, attends a Church Service, he is not sitting in a Shrine for Saints. He is sitting in a Hospital for Sinners.
When I first heard about this story yesterday, I was spiritually disappointed in the magazine which Rev. Graham founded….but not surprised.
I am not really that surprised to see that this present generation is moving away from Christianity by incorporating “Social Justice”, a creation of man, into their church doctrine.
They have been programmed to embrace it from the moment they started kindergarten in public school.
Ever since Liberals took over America’s Education System, they have been constantly socially engineering America’s schoolchildren “in the way in which THEY believed that they should go”.
Remember when Hillary Clinton famously said, “It takes a village”?
She meant that “it takes a village” of people to indoctrinate a children to place a cradle-to-grave government and the relative morality and situational ethics of this world above the Triune God and the teachings found in His Word.
Vladimir Lenin said,
Give me just one generation of youth, and I’ll transform the whole world.
And, that it what has been happening in America for at least three decades.
It goes hand-in-hand with the decline of church attendance and the decline in Christianity (a number on the Pew Research Poll which may or may not be accurate).
As the influence of “Social Justice” and secularism grew in American schools and in day-to-day life, Americans became more and more obsessed with self-gratification and living for themselves.
Parents who were raised as Christians bought their children video game consoles instead of athletic equipment and parents began spending their Sundays hunting, fishing, and watching ballgames on TV, instead of going to be with fellow Christians in church.
Spiritual Leaders themselves, in order to attempt to reach this “unchurched” generation, slowly began moving away from preaching the parts of Biblical Scripture which required something from the listener and instead began preaching the false doctrine of sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows and “whatever makes you happy, do it!”.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of churches which no longer seem to be teaching about repentance of sin and salvation through the Grace of God.
Instead of just being IN the world, these churches have made the decision to be OF the world in order to “tickle the ears” of the millennials, with pop culture and social justice taking the place of spirit-filled worship.
And, if a church, a “church plant”, an “outpost”, a cathedral, or whatever the place of worship is called is not preaching God’s Word, then the Holy Spirit will not be there.
And, if the place of worship is not spirit-filled, then Christians will not come and they will not bring their families and friends and then, no one will have the opportunity to be led to Christ.
So, are we experiencing the “falling away” written about in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 and Revelation 19:20?
I do not know. I am not a prophet and only God knows when the Second Coming will occur.
However, I do know a couple of things:
God’s timing is perfect.
And, Rev. Graham never said a harsh word in public about any American President.
But, then again, Rev. Graham was not a Social Justice Warrior.
He was a Christian Soldier, armed with the breastplate of righteousness and the two-edged sword of truth…the Bible.
God is not going to rewrite the Bible for your Generation. Stop trying to change scripture when it’s written to change YOU. – Anonymous
