Socialist Bernie Sanders To Run For President As An Independent?

Bernie SandersAs most Americans know, Perennial Presidential Candidate, Dr. Ron Paul, has retired from Public Service. However, the Democrats may have found their own “spoiler” candidate.

Sen. Bernie Sanders is almost certainly running for president in 2016. He’s made allusions to his candidacy throughout the summer, most recently on Sunday’s Meet the Press, when he told moderator Chuck Todd that he was “thinking of running for president.”

At a National Journal/CNN “Politics on Tap” event Tuesday night, co-moderator Jake Tapper pressed Sanders on the issue, asking what “thinking about it” really means. He had to have decided, right?

“Nope,” Sanders said matter-of-factly, eliciting laughter from the audience. “Actually, I haven’t.”

In all likelihood, Sanders won’t ever be president, let alone win the Democratic nomination. Sanders likely knows this, or at least knows how hard a bid for president would be. He told Tapper and co-moderator Ron Fournier of National Journal that significant action on his top priorities for a campaign—nationalized health care, climate change, the wealth disparity, overturning Citizens United—could only succeed with serious support.

“That’s a pretty tough agenda,” he said. “The only way somebody with my politics can get elected is by putting together an unprecedented grassroots movement.”

According to the latest polls, a grassroots base hasn’t yet blossomed. In a poll of Iowa Democrats last week, only 5 percent said they’d vote for Vermont’s junior senator, far fewer than those who said they’d go for Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, or Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts. But Sanders has a committed base of supporters who swoon over his decades-long attention to economic inequality.

A self-described “democratic socialist,” the longest-serving independent in the Senate has been vague about whether he’d run for president as a Democrat or on a third-party ticket. In June, he told National Journal he was no “spoiler,” and wouldn’t play the Ralph Nader to an inevitable Clinton run.

By Tuesday night, however, he’d had it with talking about Clinton. “I can’t walk down the street without being asked about Hillary,” he complained. “If I decide to run for president, it’s not against Hillary Clinton.”

He also weighed the pros and cons of running as an independent, lamenting the fact that the Citizens United decision requires him to be independently wealthy or gain major-party backing to run a serious campaign.

“If I were a billionaire,” he told Tapper and Fournier, “it might make very simple, common sense to run as an independent, because you have the money to develop independent political infrastructure in fifty states. I don’t have that money.”

On the other hand, with the anger at the two-party system, he said, “running as an independent makes sense.” Only about half of Americans actually care about which party controls Congress, according to a May Associated Press poll, and most are extremely disillusioned with government.

A Ron Paul-esque presidential bid could well be up his alley. If Sanders officially enters the race, he may be able to pull the national political conversation leftward, much like what Paul did with libertarian concerns in 2008 and 2012. Wealth inequality and campaign finance—two of Sanders’s banner issues—are topics Clinton can’t go toe-to-toe on: She won’t risk alienating her supporters at Goldman Sachs and other banking giants, and has made memorable blunders about her own fortune.

Why are Far Left Democrats (which nowadays describes the overwhelming majority of the Party) so enamored of Socialist Politicians?

Merriam-webster.com defines socialism as:

…any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

…a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

…a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

The desensitization and placating of the Middle Class, as it was in classic Marxist Theory, is a key element of the Present and Future Platform of the Democrat Party, as it has been during the Presidency of Barack Hussein Obama.

By taking the ambition of the Middle Class away, by offering a “safe and comfortable” cradle-to-grave Nanny-State, “Uncle Sugar” Federal Government, the Democrat Party, ever since the launch of LBJ’s “Great Society”, have bought the loyalty of  American voters by giving them bribes of “free” money and “benefits”.

Unfortunately, as Mitt Romney alluded to during his failed bid for the Presidency, there is a great percentage of American voters who will buy and be content with this “Mother’s milk”, instead of yearning for the thrill and the challenge of the hunt for American Individual Success and Freedom.

The Marxist Ideal of

has become the mantra of the Modern Democratic Party, which has become extremely adept at promising the Moon and handing out free stuff to its voting base, in order to maintain their Seats of Power and to continue to grow the Politboro, or Central Government.

Norman Matoon Thomas (1884-1968) was a six-time Presidential Candidate,  representing the Socialist Party of America.  In a campaign interview in 1948, he said the following:

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.

Thanks to a highly politicized, propaganda-filled Department of Education, which has “dumbed down” a generation of voters, the “easy money” solution to poverty, promised by Socialists such as Bernie Sanders, “tickles the ears” of low information voters, the same voting bloc who continue to support Barack Hussein Obama and his failed Presidency.

Mitt Romney said during his 2012 campaign, that

…And the American people are the greatest people in the world. What makes America the greatest nation in the world is the heart of the American people: hardworking, innovative, risk-taking, God- loving, family-oriented American people.

And. that will be the main reason that Bernie Sanders will do not any better in the Democrat Primaries than Ron Paul fared in the Republican Primaries.

For, while there remains an element in American Society who wants their “money for nothing and their chicks for free”, there is a bigger element of our population who realize that hard work and self-sacrifice are noble things.

As the Merriam-Webster Dictionary says, socialism is “a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done.”

That being said, you know why I am optimistic that the push toward socialism and ultimately, communism , will not succeed here in America?

The greatest President of the United States in my lifetime, Ronald Reagan, once quipped,

How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.

The Political Ideology of the majority of the population in America is still Conservatism.

Over 1/3rd of America’s Workforce Unemployed. Obama’s Economic Policy of “Fun-cation” Continues…

AFBrancoObama952014As I sit here, trying to think of what to write about, I am struck by the fact that 37.2 percent of America’s Workforce are out of work. This means that over one third of America’s Workforce do not have the opportunity to contribute to our economy.

According to CNSnews.com,

A record 92,269,000 Americans 16 and older did not participate in the labor force in August, as the labor force participation rate matched a 36-year low of 62.8 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The labor force participation rate has been as low as 62.8 percent in six of the last twelve months, but prior to last October had not fallen that low since 1978.

BLS employment statistics are based on the civilian noninstitutional population, which consists of all people 16 or older who were not in the military or an institution such as a prison, mental hospital or nursing home.

In August, the civilian noninstitutional population was 248,229,000 according to BLS. Of that 248,229,000, 155,959,000—or 62.8 percent–participated in the labor force, meaning they either had or job or had actively sought one in the last four weeks.

The 92,269,000 who did not participate in the labor force are those in the civilian noninstitutional population who did not have a job and did not actively seek one in the last four weeks. Because they did not seek a job, they did not count as “unemployed.”

Of the 155,959,000 who did participate in the labor force, 146,368,000 had a job and 9,591,000 did not have a job but actively sought one. The 9,591,000 are the unemployed. They equaled 6.1 percent of the labor force—or an unemployment rate of 6.1 percent (which was down slightly from the 6.2 percent unemployment rate in July).

The 146,368,000 people employed in the United States in August was up 16,000 from the 146,352,000 who were employed in July.

Why can’t Americans find gainful employment?

As I wrote yesterday, the answer is simple. The cause of all this, is the failed domestic policy of an ineffectual president.

A person who came in as an unvetted unknown, proclaimed as the first non-racial president and a deep-thinking intellectual,  has turned out to be as shallow as a kiddie pool.

President Barack Hussein Obama has been attempting to swim in the adult side of the pool for over 6 years…and he is still flailing about like he misses his Donald Duck Float Ring.

Obama is like every other Far Left Radical. He believes that he can make the failed philosophy of Marxism work, even though it has never worked before, anywhere else it has been tried.

He and his administration overestimated their own intelligence in their zeal to radically change America from the capitalistic system, which has been so successful for so long, to a central government-run socialist “Great Society”, turbo – charging LBJ’ s program, which has led to over 72% of America’s black babies to be born out of wedlock, youth violence all over the country, and over 11 percent of America’s black adult population to be unemployed.

As Obama’s economic policies continued to fail, one would think that an actual leader would have reached out across the aisle for help in order to get America working again.

But, not the Petulant President.

He and the Far left-run Democrat Party believe that compromise with the Republicans, means that they pass everything you want them to pass, no questions asked.

President Pantywaist still believes that he is the smartest person in any room he walks into.

Obama is not unique among Liberals.

Especially, the younger ones.

The ones I run into on the Internet, all argue from position of self-perceived superiority.

They view Conservatives as intellectually beneath them. Not only that, we are responsible for the all the world’s problems.

And if your conservative man arguing with a liberal woman, you will be seen by them as a male chauvinist…even if your not (As they say at the University of Arkansas, “Yay, ‘Pigs. Sooey!”)

And, Lord help you, if you are a Christian American Conservative, like me.

I’ve was going ’round and ’round with a Liberal “young lady” on Political Facebook Page the other day about that day’s Blog, abortion, and gun control. Don’t ask me why she kept changing subjects. She was getting beat and started lashing out. Anyway, this Southern Gentleman finally had enough of her bitter condescension, and wrote:

You call yourself pro-life, when you are actually pro-death. You state that you are an advocate for women, and yet, one-half of the lives you support ending in the womb are female. You are terrified that America will become so sort of a theocracy, yet, America was founded by Christians. You defend your right to rail against the faith of 76% of the American Population, and, yet, you are blind to the fact that it was Christians in the 1700s who gave you that right. You rail against men stifling your “freedom”, and, yet, a genetic link to a man resides within you as you write. And, yet, somehow, as a Christian American Conservative, I am the hateful oppressive one. Go figure…”

The reason that America is in the state we are in domestically and on the World Scene is because of the Far Left Radicals who have taken over the Democrat Party.

These New Fascists are unwilling to reach across the Political Aisle, and work with the Republicans to get rid of the punitive taxes and governmental interference that have led to America’s Unemployment Problem.

They, like the First Invertebrate President, whom they follow like lemmings over a cliff, would rather negotiate, in order to “contain” the Muslim Barbarians who want to kill us all, than compromise with Republicans, both Moderate and Conservative.

Meanwhile, as you read this, I’m sitting behind a table of my wife’s Premier Jewelry at a Yard Sale.

You see…I’m one of the 37.2%.

And, I’ve been on “fun-cation”, as Michelle Obama once called it, since April.

“Obamanomics”: The Rich Get Richer. Middle and Lower Class Suffer.

When Barack Hussein Obama first ran for the Presidency of the United States in 2008, he claimed that his economic policies would “foster economic growth from the bottom up and not just from the top down.” Obama promised to put in place “an immediate rescue plan for the middle class” and would end the “tired, worn-out, trickle-down ideologies we’ve been seeing for so many years.”

Obama got everything that he wanted in his first two years in the White House, when Democrats had solid control of Congress — a massive stimulus, auto industry bailouts, temporary middle class tax cuts, vast new regulations on businesses and ObamaCare.

But,  all of his brilliant Socialist Economic  Policies produced the exact opposite of what he’d promised.

So, he pounded his them of “Class Warfare” even harder.

So much so that, during his Re-election Campaign in 2012, President Barack Hussein Obama said,

This country doesn’t just succeed when just a few are doing well at the top. It succeeds when the middle class gets bigger. Our economy doesn’t grow from the top down — it grows from the middle out. We don’t believe that anybody is entitled to success in this country,” said Obama. “But we do believe in opportunity. We believe in a country where hard work pays off and responsibility is rewarded, and everybody is getting a fair shot and everybody is doing their fair share and everybody is playing by the same rules.

On July 24, 2013, Newly-Re-elected President Obama began a series of Stump Speeches titled, “Growing the Economy From the Middle Class Out”.  Here’s an excerpt of the first speech:

…With an endless parade of distractions, political posturing and phony scandals, Washington has taken its eye off the ball. And I am here to say this needs to stop. Short-term thinking and stale debates are not what this moment requires. Our focus must be on the basic economic issues that the matter most to you – the people we represent. And as Washington prepares to enter another budget debate, the stakes for our middle class could not be higher. The countries that are passive in the face of a global economy will lose the competition for good jobs and high living standards. That’s why America has to make the investments necessary to promote long-term growth and shared prosperity. Rebuilding our manufacturing base. Educating our workforce. Upgrading our transportation and information networks. That’s what we need to be talking about. That’s what Washington needs to be focused on.

And that’s why, over the next several weeks, in towns across this country, I will engage the American people in this debate. I will lay out my ideas for how we build on the cornerstones of what it means to be middle class in America, and what it takes to work your way into the middle class in America. Job security, with good wages and durable industries. A good education. A home to call your own. Affordable health care when you get sick. A secure retirement even if you’re not rich. Reducing poverty and inequality. Growing prosperity and opportunity.

So, who is it that is keeping America’s Middle Class from prospering?

I’ll give you a clue: His initials are B.H.O.

The Washington Times reports that

Under President Obama, the richest 10 percent were the only income group of Americans to see their median incomes rise, according to a survey released this week by the Federal Reserve.

The Fed data covered the years 2010-2013, during which period Mr. Obama constantly campaigned against income inequality and won re-election by painting his Republican rival as a tool of Wall Street plutocrats.

“Data from the 2013 [Survey of Consumer Finances] confirm that the shares of income and wealth held by affluent families are at modern historically high levels,” the report said in noting that the median income fell for every 10-percent grouping except the most affluent 10 percent. 

“The 2013 SCF reveals substantial disparities in the evolution of income and net worth since the previous time the survey was conducted, in 2010,” the report stated. The SCF is conducted by the Federal reserve triennially and compiles information about family incomes, credit use, net worth and finances.

The 2010-2013 SCF found that even though real gross domestic product grew by 2.1 percent and civilian unemployment fell from 9.9 percent to 7.5 percent, only families at “the very top of the income distribution saw widespread income gains,” though mean median income levels still lagged behind 2007 numbers.

The report comes just a week after AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said the union group would not endorse any more Democrats that are following President Obama’s economic policy.

“We will call in and question all of the candidates,” he said. “One of our biggest concerns is who is the candidate’s economic team, because if the present economic team doesn’t change, you are going get the same results.”

The survey also found that family in the middle income bracket (40th to 90th percentiles) saw “very little” change in average real incomes and still have not recovered losses from 2010 and 2007. Families at the bottom of the income distribution continued to see “substantial declines” in average real incomes, a continuing trend from the previous two surveys.

The top percentile of Americans also increased their wealth share since 2010, corresponding to a loss in wealth for the bottom 90 percent of Americans, according to the Fed data.

“The wealth share of the top 3 percent climbed from 44.8 percent in 1989 to 51.8 percent in 2007 and 54.4 percent in 2013. … The share of wealth held by the bottom 90 percent fell from 33.2 percent in 1989 to24.7 percent in 2013,” the report stated.

The prosperous years during the Reagan Presidency marked a period of economic progress for Middle Class Americans. Middle Class Income increased 11 percent after adjustment for inflation, while nearly 20 million new jobs were created.

Those Liberal critics of the 1980s, who argue that the Middle Class shrank in number during those years, are half -right for the wrong reasons. The proportion of Middle Class Americans did indeed decline, but this reflected an upward movement of households into the high income category. Meanwhile, the proportion of Low Income Households declined, as more became middle class. The income growth during the Reagan Presidency increased the size of the pocketbooks of Americans at all income levels.

During Obama’s time in office, America’s major corporations have been hit with punitive measures, including high corporate tax rates and Obamacare, which has caused them to “down-size” their employee rolls and to relocate their call centers to companies like India, which has effected the rest of our economy.

Trickle-Down Economics was simply common sense. Capitalism is the engine that drives America’s economy.

When those who actually hire Americans are attacked by an Administration, naturally, those consequences are felt by those in lower economic strati (that’s you and me, boys and girls).

Obama’s “Trickle-Up” Economic Policy has been a miserable failure.

Because, as Lady Margaret Thatcher once said,

The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.

The Illegal Alien Invasion: Obama and the “New Bolsheviks”

Yesterday, in Austin , Texas, the Lone Star State’s Capital and “Mecca” of Liberalism, President Barack Hussein Obama, in front of a hand-picked admiring throng, did what he does best: had a petulant hissy fit, due to “everybody picking on him”.  By “everybody”, I mean “those mean old Republicans”, of course.

Yahoo News reports that

“You hear some of ’em, ‘sue him, impeach him,'” Obama said, then added a sarcastic, “Really?”

“For what? You’re going to sue me for doing my job? OK. I mean, think about that, you’re going to use taxpayer money to sue me for doing my job, while you don’t do your job?”

The crowd applauded.

“Sometimes I feel like saying to these guys, ‘I’m the guy doing my job. You must be the other guy,'” he said.

With Obama’s latest congressional proposal, $3.7 billion to tackle the border crisis, facing a rocky path to passage in Congress, the president is contending with what may well be a Washington stalemate throughout the rest of his presidency, which ends in early 2017.

On this week’s trip, he has taken to wandering down memory lane, recalling simpler times before he was a global figure, remembering fondly a walk he took along the river in Austin that did not attract a crowd or the time he sang on stage here.

“I remember going to a bar, club, or honky-tonk around here and singing on stage. I wasn’t very good. But people were enthusiastic,” he said at a fund-raiser at a private home in Austin.

Obama is finding his travels out of Washington to be cathartic, a way to connect with people who helped put him in office.

“What I’ve said to my team is ‘get me out of Washington,’” the president told donors at the event. He said wanted to talk to people who are doing the right thing and struggling so they know they are being heard.

So Obama, per usual, is trying to come off as a “Man of the People”? Which people is that?

As Bill Flax wrote back in March of 2012, in an article posted on americanthinker.org, Obama’s political philosophy speaks for itself,

Every fiscal policy from sundry stimulus programs to tax credits is steeply progressive. Obama champions wealth-redistribution and punitively taxing the affluent, even as political reality prevents implementing his complete agenda. Still, spending relentlessly rises long after the recession’s end, propelling government dependency to record heights. Meanwhile, regulatory impositions grow ever more invasive, further extending Leviathan’s lurching grasp.

The administration’s rhetorical assaults on business and repeated allusions to Republicans or the rich as “enemies” betray Marxist moorings. To Obama, profits represent not satisfied customers, but swindles; businesses are “greedy” until proven innocent. Acquittals come via campaign contributions or penance to progressive causes. Those who cooperate obtain ObamaCare waivers and lucrative public contracts; those who won’t get vilification from the presidential bully pulpit.

…But the Breitbart footage showing Obama supporting Derrick Bell’s racialism highlights the precise hue of the president’s Marxist perspectives. Professor Bell has been nicknamed the “Jeremiah Wright of the academic world.” Bell’s Critical Race Theory, the pinnacle of political correctness, applies Marxism to culture, as orthodox Marxism antagonized class differences.

Whereas Marx proffered that the pivotal hinge was economic, as explained here, cultural Marxism, aka political correctness, features other factors. It’s still victims and villains, but the culprits extend beyond capitalists and bourgeois to whites, men, Christians, and other “privileged” parties. Western culture’s prey are racial or religious minorities, women, and those behaving in ways previously considered anti-social.

Obama perceives society through lenses skewed by this modern version of Marxism. Obama’s proposals inevitably leverage left-wing radicals or government organs to redistribute wealth, power, or caches of moral superiority under pretense of combating prejudice. Power shifts from private to public — or from parties previously seen as oppressors to those whom progressives deem oppressed.

…The apologies, the appointments, the executive orders, the spending priorities — all embody untrammeled political correctness. The consistent thread knitting this Marxist quilt is anti-traditional America, which, as the president haughtily scoffs, was founded by “men of property and wealth.” Obama borrows from Marx, who thought government an instrument protecting the rich. Marx found faith, tradition, and patriotism impediments preventing the proletariat from recognizing their class interests.

All of this, plus the Class Warfare Rhetoric, which Obama continuously spouts, reminds me of a moment in history, over a century ago.

The year is 1903, The Russian Social Democratic Party is meeting in London. All the intellectuals in their party have been arguing since the end of the 1800′s as to the direction the party should take. One year earlier, in 1902, a man named Lenin, living in exile, wrote a paper entitled, “What Is To Be Done”.

The work was smuggled into Russia and spelled out his views regarding what the Social Democrats should be doing as a party. Lenin attacked party members who “were content to wait while history took its predetermined course.” Rather than wait, Lenin wanted to kick-start the issue he believed in to get things done rather than wait on intellectuals sitting around refuting each other’s ideas. The meeting resulted in a Party split creating the Mentsheviks and the Bolsheviks. The two factions reunited under Lenin in April 1905. Lenin went on to organize the November 1917 Russian Revolution on the Promise of “peace. bread, and land”.

On the night of Nov. 6 (Oct. 24, O.S.), the Bolsheviks staged a coup, engineered by Trotsky; aided by the workers’ Red Guard and the sailors of Kronstadt, they captured the government buildings and the Winter Palace in Petrograd. A second all-Russian congress of soviets met and approved the coup after the Mensheviks and Socialist Revolutionaries walked out of the meeting. A cabinet, known as the Council of People’s Commissars, was set up with Lenin as chairman, Trotsky as foreign commissar, Rykov as interior commissar, and Stalin as commissar of nationalities. The second congress immediately called for cessation of hostilities, gave private and church lands to village soviets, and abolished private property.

By now, you’re saying, “So?  What does Lenin’s push to power and the subsequent Russian Revolution have to do with what is going on in America right now…our horrible economy, our still-massive unemployment, and the illegal alien invasion we are experiencing on our Southern Border?”

Elementary, my dear Watson.

Lenin rose to power during a time of economic plight in Russia, which was perceived as being the result of a greedy upper class. In order to depose the Czar and his government, Lenin had to solidify the “have-nots”, the Mentsheviks and the Bolsheviks, into his own private army, designed to usher in his “Glorious Revolution”.

Today, in 2014, Obama, voted by the American People, the “Worst president Since World War II”, finds himself is a rapidly weakening position of power.

His popularity is swirling down the ol’ porcelain receptacle, and even his own party members are trying to distance themselves from him.

His only hope to retain his power base is to create, politically, his own”private army” of Democrat voters, composed of, as Mitt Romney called them, “the 47%”  of Americans dependent on Uncle Sugar and these new illegal aliens, whom he has been whisking off, via governmental transport, to be dispersed throughout the country, where, within a couple of years, they will be old enough to vote.

By ginning up the dependent base already here…and growing…due to this new influx of illegals…to push Congress to support Obama in passing Amnesty, Obama is creating his own “Revolutionary Army”, to fulfill his promise of “rapidly changing” America as we know it.

Far fetched? Perhaps.

However, remember what the greatest President in my lifetime, Ronald Wilson Reagan, once said,

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.

obamaburningconstitutionWell, Obama’s Bureau of Land Management is at it again. Now, they want to seize 90,000 acres of land, deep in the heart of Texas.  The land they want is on the Texas/Oklahoma Border.

However, they did not count on Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. As we say down here in Dixie, he “ain’t havin’ none of it”, as Breitbart.com reports…

Abbott challenged the BLM director directly stating in his letter, “Nearly a century ago, the U.S. Supreme Court determined that the gradient line of the south bank of the Red River—subject to the doctrines of accretion and avulsion—was the boundary between Texas and Oklahoma. Oklahoma v. Texas, 260 U.S. 606 (1923). More recently, in 1994, the BLM stated that the Red River area was “[a] unique situation” and stated that ‘[t]he area itself cannot be defined until action by the U.S. Congress establishes the permanent state boundary between Oklahoma and Texas.’ Further, the BLM determined that one possible scenario was legislation that established the ‘south geologic cut bank as the boundary,’ which could have resulted ‘in up to 90,000 acres’ of newly delineated federal land. But no such legislation was ever enacted.”

As to what kind of standoff might Texas might be facing with the BLM on this matter, Abbott said, “I think that we should be able to resolve this from a legal standpoint because, I believe, what the BLM is doing clearly violates the law. They don’t have any legal standing whatsoever to do this and that’s why I have issued this letter today.”

In the letter, Gen. Abbott details five issues for the BLM to address:

  1. Please delineate with specificity each of the steps for the RMP/EIS process for property along the Red River.
  2. Please describe the procedural due process the BLM will afford to Texans whose property may be claimed by the federal government.
  3. Please confirm whether the BLM agrees that, from 1923 until the ratification of the Red River Boundary Compact, the boundary between Texas and Oklahoma was the gradient line of the south bank of the Red River. To the extent the BLM does not agree, please provide legal analysis supporting the BLM’s position.
  4. Please confirm whether the BLM still considers Congress’ ratification of the Red River Boundary Compact as determinative of its interest in land along the Red River? To the extent the BLM does not agree, please provide legal analysis supporting the BLM’s new position.
  5. Please delineate with specificity the amount of Texas territory that would be impacted by the BLM’s decision to claim this private land as the property of the federal government.

“The letter today,” Abbott explained, “is the first shot in the legal process. We expect answers from them and based upon their answers we will decide what legal action to take.”

“What Barack Obama’s BLM is doing,” Abbott continued, “is so out of bounds and so offensive that we should have quick and successful legal action if they dare attempt to tread on Texas land and take it from private property owners in this state.”

As to the timeline of how this matter moves forward Abbott explained that it is hard to tell how quickly or slowly the BLM might move on this matter. “One of the problems is, we can’t tell what they’re doing other than trying to operate in very suspicious ways. We want to make sure they are going to be open and transparent about what they are doing and that constitutional due process rights are going to be protected.”

Abbott told Breitbart Texas he wants to make sure the BLM understands that what they appear to be attempting to do is completely illegal. “This is Texas land. It belongs to Texas and the private property owners here,”

Abbott firmly stated. “If we have to, we will assert quick and effective legal action to put a stop to it.”

Expropriation, or the seizing of privately-held land by nation’s governments, is nothing new. It’s quite prevalent in Marxist-led nations, because, after all, under Marxism, the proletariat works for the glory of the State, which owns everything. Communism relieves the citizenry of the burden of private ownership. Acts of expropriation also can occur if you are a foreign business, operating in their country.

The Legal Dictionary explains it this way…

U.S. businesses were expropriated by the governments of both Cuba and Chile during socialist movements in those foreign countries. In May 1959, after Fidel Castro took over the Cuban government, the seizure of many large U.S. properties began. Before the revolution, U.S. corporations had controlled most of Cuba’s resources and over half of its sugar production. In 1960, the first shipment of Soviet oil arrived in Cuba. Under the advice of the U.S. Treasury Department, U.S. oil companies on the island refused to refine it. These refineries were then taken over by the Cuban government. The expropriation of U.S. property in Cuba and Cuba’s alliance with the Soviet Union eventually led to the United States’ breaking off all diplomatic relations and instituting an embargo.

In 1971, the Chilean people elected a socialist president, Salvador Allende. Soon afterward, the Chilean government began to expropriate U.S. businesses located in Chile. The primary U.S. business in Chile at this time was copper mining. When U.S.-owned mines were seized, in most cases, their owners were provided with adequate and prompt compensation. The El Teniente mine of the Kennecott Company was seized by the government for a much higher price than the book value. In 1970, government control over the industrial sector in Chile had been at 10 percent. One year after the election of President Allende, it was at 40 percent. By 1973, private banks; U.S. copper mines; the steel, cement, and coal industries; and all other vital areas of industry were in the hands of the Chilean state.

In both Cuba and Chile, the seized properties remain under the control of the foreign government.

Some of you are thinking that I am just being silly, that I am comparing apples and oranges, and that America’s not going to become a Socialist Country, like Cuba or Chile, anytime soon.

I pray that we don’t.

However, step back and look at things such as Common Core, The “Anti-Bully” Campaign in America’s Schools, the push to legalize marijuana in an attempt to dumb down the citizenry, the intentional weakening of our military through social engineering, Obamacare, and the attacks  against and suppression of  Conservative Groups by Obama’s Internal Revenue Service…and then tell me that “somethin’ awfuwwy scwewy’s’ not going on around here.

In a Gallup Poll, published on September 23, 2013, 60% of Americans believed that the Federal Government had too much Power.

After Obama’s attempted expropriation of the Bundy Ranch, and now private land in Texas, I wonder how many Americans believe that the Federal Government has too much power, now?

Obama Told Me, “You Better Shop Around”!

marie-antoinette-obamaYesterday, while speaking at an event in Boston, President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) attempted to correct the lie which he has been telling the American Public over and over again, since he first campaigned for the Presidency: the lie concerning Americans with privately-held Health Insurance Polices being able to keep them with the advent of Obamacare…

Now, if you had one of these substandard plans before the Affordable Care Act became law, and you really like that plan, you were able to keep it. That’s what I said when I was running for office. That was part of the promise we made. But ever since the law was passed, if insurers decided to downgrade or cancel the substandard plans, what we said under the law is that you have got to replace them with quality, comprehensive coverage because that, too, was a central premise of the Affordable Care Act from the very beginning…

So if you’re getting one of these letters [canceling your insurance policy], just shop around in the new marketplace. That’s what it’s for…

For the fewer than 5% of Americans who buy insurance on your own, you will be getting a better deal. So anyone peddling the motion that insurers are canceling people’s plan without mentioning that almost all the insurers are encouraging people to join better plans with the same carrier and stronger benefits and stronger protections, while others will be able to get better plans with new carriers through the marketplace, and then many will get new help to pay for these better plans and make them actually cheaper–if you leave that stuff out, you’re being grossly misleading, to say the least.

Yeah…about that “new marketplace”, Scooter. It’s kind of hard to “shop around” when the cotton-pickin’ website keeps crashing.

While your hench-woman, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sibelius, was on the stand at yesterday’s Congressional Hearing, the darn thing crashed again, leading to what Sean Hannity called “an unfortunate screen shot”, with Healthcare.gov’s Technical Problems page on the left of the screen and Sibelius on the right.

“Glitch-plagued” does not even begin to describe the castastrophe-filled abyss that is healthcare.gov.

The National Republican Congressional Committee has published some horror stories that will send chills down you spine on this Halloween…

1. “Three weeks”

Jennie Johnson from Missouri City, Texas, has been trying for “three weeks” to access HealthCare.gov. She eventually decided to take President Obama’s advice and check out her insurance options by phone, but only got a few steps in before being told she had to return to the broken website.

2. “Every day for three consecutive weeks”

David Harrison from Tennessee has attempted to enroll into ObamaCare every day for three consecutive weeks. Not only is he being forced to jump through the glitches to enroll in a health care plan, but some of the plans he is eligible for are more expensive than he was hoping for.

3. “Two weeks”

Elizabeth Cohen, a reporter for CNN, writes that for two weeks straight she tried to access HealthCare.gov, only to be greeted by error messages. Cohen even tried logging on at 3 am on Sunday morning, only to be told by the site that the system was down.

4. “Three weeks”

Patricia from North Carolina has been “trying for three weeks to see what ObamaCare offers without success.” Her current health plan has been cancelled thanks to ObamaCare, and yet she has not been able to sign on to browse a potential replacement.

5. “23 days later”

Mary Noble, an editor at Politix.com, wrote that “for the last 23 days I’ve tried and abjectly failed to create an account on Healthcare.gov.”

So, with Americans suffering under under his Signature Socialist Legislation, which was rammed down our throats, an American President would be humble and apologetic about the situation, instead of attempting to pass the buck, while admonishing American Citizens to “shop around”.

But, not our Manchurian President.

Americans do not matter to him. His Marx/Alinsky – inspired Political Ideology, which, in turn, fuels his plan to “fundamentally change” the Shining City of the Hill” into just another Third-World Barrio, takes precedence over the health and well-being of American citizens, whom he has sworn to protect and defend from enemies, foreign and domestic.

In the 44th President’s case, it’s hardly a priority to protect a citizenry whom you have nothing in common with.

And, apparently, other Americans are starting to realize what Conservatives have known all along: Obama is for Obama.

A new NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey shows that a mere 42 percent of Americans approve of Obama’s job performance, down five points from a poll conducted in early October. The president’s disapproval rating stands at 51 percent, tying an all-time high for Obama.

In all, 41 percent of respondents say they have a less favorable opinion of the president since the 16 day government shutdown, compared to 21 percent who say they have a more favorable view since the shutdown.

The realization of the  freedom-destroying effects of the Marxist Healthcare Law, put into place by the empty suit who occupies Our House at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, is definitely having an effect on “The Lightbringer’s” popularity numbers. Light bulbs are coming on in the craniums of even those Low Information Voters, who supported Obama for the last 5 years, as they begin to understand what average Americans here in the Heartland have known all along, concerning their “fallen messiah.”.

If I Wanted to “Radically Change” America…

obamaburningconstitutionLet’s go on a flight of imagination for a little while, shall we?

You’re the President of the United States…and you have just barely won your second term, by promising to lasso the moon (a la George Bailey in “It’s a Wonderful Life”).

So, now that the suckers actually believed your Santa Claus impression , you’re in the catbird seat and you rightfully feel that you can do any doggone thing that you want to.

As you sit there, reveling in your glory, you remember what you promised the suckers when you were running for your first term,  in 2008. Back then, you promised that you would radically change America.

You also told some guy named Joe in Ohio, who said he was a plumber that “when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody”.

But, how do you get to the point to where you can realize your plans? After all, this isn’t a bunch of weak-kneed Europeans you’re dealing with.These are freedom-loving Americans, whom, as you said at a fundraiser, were “bitterly clinging” to their Bibles and guns.

You’ve already thrown a ton of money at the ones who already support you. At this point, they’ can’t live without all the “Hope and Change” you’ve been giving them, like a pusher gives addicts free drugs until they’re hooked.

But, what are you going to do with the rest of the citizenzy…the ones who see you for who you really are, are not impressed, and refuse to “get with the program”?

At this point, you have what you believe is a brilliant idea: You remember that lessons you learned from your grandparents and your next door neighbor in Hawaii, Frank Marshall Davis: When in doubt…refer back to Marx and Lenin.

1. Ridicule the Proletariat’s religion and regulate it out of everyday life. Make sure any laws you pass, accomplish this.

Obamacare was a good start. Force those Christians to offer contraception and abortiafacients in the  Health Insurance they offer to their employees. And, while you’re at it,  force them to accept deviant sexual behavior as “normal” and “natural”.

It would be bourgeois narrow-mindedness to forget that the yoke of religion that weighs upon mankind is merely a product and reflection of the economic yoke within society. No number of pamphlets and no amount of preaching can enlighten the proletariat, if it is not enlightened by its own struggle against the dark forces of capitalism. Unity in this really revolutionary struggle of the oppressed class for the creation of a paradise on earth is more important to us than unity of proletarian opinion on paradise in heaven.

That is the reason why we do not and should not set forth our atheism in our Programme; that is why we do not and should not prohibit proletarians who still retain vestiges of their old prejudices from associating themselves with our Party. The War Against Christianity: Of Lenin and Hobby Lobby

americanchristianflagsYesterday, thousands of Americans either went to, or shopped online at Hobby Lobby, a favorite store of my bride and mine, which has come under attack by the Obama Administration, because the owner, David Green, has taken a faith-based stand against being forced by the Obama administration to pay for drugs for his employees in their health care plan that may cause abortions.  Mr. Green recently stated his views very succinctly in the following letter:

When my family and I started our company 40 years ago, we were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature picture frames. Our first retail store wasn’t much bigger than most people’s living rooms, but we had faith that we would succeed if we lived and worked according to God‘s word. From there, Hobby Lobby has become one of the nation’s largest arts and crafts retailers, with more than 500 locations in 41 states. Our children grew up into fine business leaders, and today we run Hobby Lobby together, as a family.

We’re Christians, and we run our business on Christian principles. I’ve always said that the first two goals of our business are (1) to run our business in harmony with God’s laws, and (2) to focus on people more than money. And that’s what we’ve tried to do. We close early so our employees can see their families at night. We keep our stores closed on Sundays, one of the week’s biggest shopping days, so that our workers and their families can enjoy a day of rest. We believe that it is by God’s grace that Hobby Lobby has endured, and he has blessed us and our employees. We’ve not only added jobs in a weak economy, we’ve raised wages for the past four years in a row. Our full-time employees start at 80% above minimum wage.

But now, our government threatens to change all of that. A new government health care mandate says that our family business MUST provide what I believe are abortion-causing drugs as part of our health insurance. Being Christians, we don’t pay for drugs that might cause abortions, which means that we don’t cover emergency contraception, the morning-after pill or the week-after pill. We believe doing so might end a life after the moment of conception, something that is contrary to our most important beliefs. It goes against the Biblical principles on which we have run this company since day one. If we refuse to comply, we could face $1.3 million PER DAY in government fines.

Our government threatens to fine job creators in a bad economy. Our government threatens to fine a company that’s raised wages four years running. Our government threatens to fine a family for running its business according to its beliefs. It’s not right. I know people will say we ought to follow the rules; that it’s the same for everybody. But that’s not true. The government has exempted thousands of companies from this mandate, for reasons of convenience or cost. But it won’t exempt them for reasons of religious belief.

So, Hobby Lobby – and my family – are forced to make a choice. With great reluctance, we filed a lawsuit today, represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, asking a federal court to stop this mandate before it hurts our business. We don’t like to go running into court, but we no longer have a choice. We believe people are more important than the bottom line and that honoring God is more important than turning a profit.

My family has lived the American dream. We want to continue growing our company and providing great jobs for thousands of employees, but the government is going to make that much more difficult. The government is forcing us to choose between following our faith and following the law. I say that’s a choice no American – and no American business – should have to make.

Now that you’ve heard from a great Christian American, read this excerpt from a paper by the Marxist Leader, Vladimir Lenin, titled “Socialism and Religion”…and shiver:

Our Party is an association of class-conscious, advanced fighters for the emancipation of the working class. 2013: The Year of Socialist Amerika?

2013So, here we are…2013. A New Year. A blank slate, if you will.A year that holds the promise of endless possibilities, whose outcomes are known only to the Almighty.

Politically, what does the New Year hold? We seemingly have a majority of voters in this country who want us to become what Norman Mattoon Thomas warned us about, back in 1944, when he said:

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.

If you look at the events of 2012, which included a president who seems to hate everything that has made our country great, the Democratic Party having an Civil War, over whether to leave God in their Party’s Platform, a pious, Moderate GOP Establishment foisting a predetermined candidate upon their Conservative base, and the ensuing Class Warfare-driven Presidential Campaign, which the previously-mentioned Manchurian President won…ol’ Norm just may have been a prophet.

The question is: Why are we turning into a socialist country?

Sure…some of it is the Regime of Dear Leader, but, in all fairness, this whole mess started way before Obama. He was just the lit match that set Rome ablaze.

I believe it actually started with President-For-Life Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who came up with all those government programs designed “to get Americans working again”. Of course, this was the same president who put Americans in Internment Camps, also.

FDR very well may have had the best of intentions in what he did, but

The best-laid plans of mice and men oft times go awry.

Later, John F. Kennedy, spoke of commitment to our country, when he said,

Ask not what our country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.

With those words, a short-lived dedication to community service was launched on a global scale, as young Americans became enthused by Kennedy’s call to altruism. Unfortunately, “Camelot” was short-lived, as an assassin’s bullet struck down President Kennedy.

With the inauguration of Kennedy’s Vice-President, Lyndon Baines Johnson, (whose hand I shook as a child after his term as president at an event at his ranch, for what it’s worth) America’s flirtation with socialism became a serious romance, with the ushering in of “The Great Society”.

Here are a few of the government expansions that Johnson brought upon us:

  • The Wilderness Protection Act saved 9.1 million acres of forestland from industrial development.
  • The Elementary and Secondary Education Act provided major funding for American public schools.
  • The Voting Rights Act banned literacy tests and other discriminatory methods of denying suffrage to African Americans.
  • Medicare was created to offset the costs of health care for the nation’s elderly.
  • The National Endowment for the Arts and Humanities used public money to fund artists and galleries.
  • The Immigration Act ended discriminatory quotas based on ethnic origin.
  • An Omnibus Housing Act provided funds to construct low-income housing.

Additionally…

Johnson also signed the omnibus ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY ACT OF 1964. The law created the Office of Economic Opportunity aimed at attacking the roots of American poverty. A Job Corps was established to provide valuable vocational training.

Head Start, a preschool program designed to help disadvantaged students arrive at kindergarten ready to learn was put into place. The VOLUNTEERS IN SERVICE TO AMERICA (VISTA) was set up as a domestic Peace Corps. Schools in impoverished American regions would now receive volunteer teaching attention. Federal funds were sent to struggling communities to attack unemployment and illiteracy.

There was no need to strive to make Things better for yourself and your family, anymore. Uncle Sugar would take care of all your needs.

Fast forward to today.

At least 51% of the nation ( those who voted on November 6, 2012, anyway) wants Uncle Sugar to supply their needs And, they re-elected Baracky Claus to do just that.

Before I was blessed with my present job, I had the opportunity to work in the State Employment Office in our county. I described the experience in my post, “Overcoming Obama’s Economy”:

While at the Employment Office, I was able to observe folks down on their luck, struggling to find work and survive in this economy.

I also saw American families whose existance living on the Government Dole, had become generational.

It is these people whom Obama and the Democrats have hypnotized into believing that Uncle Sugar loves them, and is their only solution to surviving a stifling existence.

They are so, so wrong.

The strength and vitality of America does not come from the benevolence of a Nanny-state Federal Government.

As the greatest American President of our lifetime, Ronald Reagan said:

The nine words you never want to hear are:  I’m from the Government and I’m here to help.

Being enslaved to the Government Dole steals one’s ambition.  It takes away any impetus or desire to create a better life for yourself and your family, to challenge yourself to pick yourself up by your bootstraps and pursue the American Dream.  It makes you reliant on a politically-motivated spider’s web full of government bureaucrats who view you and your family as job security.

I watched American citizens trapped in this web of government bureaucracy,  so numbed of any initiative that they once had, that they seemed offended that they actually had to prove that they inquired about three jobs that week in order to keep their “benefits”.  Others seemed puzzled that they had to search through the state data base and pick out a job that they wanted to talk to an interviewer about receiving a referral to, and weren’t just simply handed a job when they walked through the door.

Little did I know, back in June, that I was describing the Americans who would prove essential to the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm). 

All this being said, while I always have hope, as a child of God, I have little faith in the spineless GOP Establishment.

Obama Wants to Spread the Wealth Around…Again

If you ever had any doubts that the 44th President of the United States is a narcissistic socialist who believes his own mythology, his pronouncement yesterday should drive those doubts away:

Politico.com has the story:

President Obama, while villifying Mitt Romney for opposing the auto industry bailout, bragged about the success of his decision to provide government assistance and said he now wants to see every manufacturing industry come roaring back.

“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he said. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.

“I don’t want those jobs taking root in places like China, I want those jobs taking root in places like Pueblo,” Obama told a crowd gathered for a campaign rally at the Palace of Agriculture at the Colorado State Fairgrounds here.

He made the remarks while pushing for the renewal of a tax credit for wind energy manufacturing – something Romney opposes – and for the creation of credits for companies who bring jobs home from overseas, as well as the elimination of loopholes for offshoring.

“Gov. Romney brags about his private sector experience, but it was mostly invested in companies, some of which were called ‘pioneers of outsourcing,’” Obama said. “I don’t want to be a pioneer of outsourcing. I want to insource.”

Back in February, nationalreview.com had an article debunking the myth of Obama’s economic genius concerning how wonderful the auto industry bailout was:

Unfortunately, assertions that “all loans have been repaid to the federal government,” that the bailout “saved more than one million American jobs,” that “U.S. automakers are hiring hundreds of thousands of new workers,” that GM is again the “number-one automaker” — all are based on creative accounting.

The money the government spent adds up quickly: $50 billion in TARP bailout funds, a special exemption waiving payment of $45.4 billion in taxes on future profits, an exemption for all product liability on cars sold before the bailout, $360 million in stimulus funds, and the $7,500 tax credit for those who buy the Chevy Volt. GM’s share of other programs is harder to quantify but includes, for example, some of the $15.2 billion that went to Cash for Clunkers. Those costs are in addition to the billions taken from GM’s bondholders by the Obama administration.

A look at the accounting shows the trouble with contentions that much of the TARP money is getting paid back. The Obama administration compares the $50 billion in direct bailout funds with the price it will eventually be able to get for selling the GM stock it owns. But that assumes that the stock price won’t reflect government subsidies, including GM’s exemption from paying $45 billion in taxes. By the Obama administration’s logic, if the stimulus grants to TARP recipients were simply large enough, all the TARP money could be paid.

Claims that GM paid back its TARP loan are true but misleading. President Obama clearly wants to create the impression that all the money given to the auto companies has been paid back. But the $6.7 billion loan to GM was just a tiny fraction of the money given to it. As TARP special inspector general Neil Barofsky explained, GM used “other TARP money” to pay off the loan.

So what about President Obama’s boast in a White House speech in late April that the bailout “saved probably a million jobs” and that “GM is now the number-one automaker again in the world”?

The “million jobs” contention is quite a stretch. Before filing for bankruptcy in July 2009, GM had 91,000 employees in the United States. You can reach a 400,000 total by assuming that all of GM’s jobs, as well as all the jobs of its parts suppliers and car dealers, would have been lost. Last year, employment in the entire automotive industry in the U.S. (counting Ford, Toyota, and other companies and their suppliers, in addition to GM and Chrysler) was only 717,000.

Obama’s economic advisers told him during an April 2009 meeting that job losses in the auto industry would be only a fraction — 10 to 20 percent — of these claimed numbers, even for the much weaker Chrysler. The advisers reported the obvious: Bankruptcy would not kill all jobs at GM and, even with cutbacks, suppliers would pick up other work. But Obama keeps using numbers that his own advisers told him were wrong.

Even saving 20 percent of 400,000 comes at quite a cost — at least $780,000 per job. How many workers would have been willing to quit working for GM for a $400,000 severance payment?

The “number-one automaker” assertion is no more accurate. Obama’s sales totals include 1.2 million mostly cheap commercial vehicles built by China’s Wuling, a company in which GM owns a small stake, and it excludes sales by vehicle makers in which Volkswagen owns a majority share. Fortune magazine lists GM’s revenue as smaller than Toyota’s and Volkswagen’s.

The only real winners from the GM bailout were unions, which were protected from pay cuts, from losing their right to overtime pay after less than 40 hours a week, and from cuts to their extremely generous benefits. They faced only minor tweaks in their inefficient union work rules.

As for “hundreds of thousands of new workers,” the truth is closer to a tenth of that.

And, he wants to extend this “helping hand” to every industry in America?

Marx would be so proud.
