The Dems Attack on AG Sessions Backfires. “Let He Who is Without Sin…”

170303-vladimir-putin-chuck-shcumer-157p_a5145162fc8260d1210017a24e4505fe-nbcnews-ux-2880-1000

The day before yesterday, the Liberal “Fourth Estate” was consumed with self-congratulatory delight over the possibility that they and their masters, The Democratic Party, had succeeded in striking another blow against President Donald J. Trump, in their quest to make him “step down” and hand the presidency over to their beloved Hillary Clinton.

It didn’t happen.

And then, yesterday, the Democrats found out what happens when you point an accusing finger at somebody:

You get three fingers point back at you.

Or, to put it another way, as Christ told the men who were about to stone the (presumed) loose woman…

“All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” – John 8:7, New Living Translation

Foxnews.com reports that

Democrats were aghast after learning Attorney General Jeff Sessions met twice, as a senator, with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. without telling Congress at his confirmation hearing – but it turns out Sergey Kislyak is no stranger to lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

The longtime Russian ambassador met with seven then-Democratic senators in a single sit-down in 2013, among other discussions – and reportedly was a frequent visitor to the Obama White House.

As House Speaker Paul Ryan put it Thursday, “We meet with ambassadors all the time.”

The central issue dogging Sessions is not so much that he met with the ambassador but that he claimed during his confirmation hearing he had no “communications” with Russian officials during his time as a Trump campaign surrogate. In a press conference, though, Sessions rejected claims he misled Congress and suggested he was answering in the context of campaign-related discussions, which he maintains he never had.

But some Sessions critics nevertheless portrayed meetings with Kislyak, whose country was accused of meddling in the 2016 campaign, as a rare summit, particularly for a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee like Sessions.

The most forceful such statement came from Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., who tweeted that she had “been on the Armed Services Com for 10 years. No call or meeting w/Russian ambassador. Ever. Ambassadors call members of Foreign Rel Com.”

That was quickly proven untrue.

A pair of tweets first unearthed by National Review’s Charles C.W. Cooke showed McCaskill twice wrote messages about meetings with Kislyak, in 2013 and 2015.

“Off to meeting w/Russian Ambassador. Upset about the arbitrary/cruel decision to end all U.S. adoptions, even those in process,” McCaskill tweeted on Jan. 30, 2013.

On Aug. 6, 2015, McCaskill wrote: “Today calls with British, Russian, and German ambassadors re: Iran deal. #doingmyhomework.”

McCaskill later blamed Twitter’s character limit for the seeming disparity in her claims, suggesting the limit prevented her from being more specific in Thursday’s tweet. She told The Weekly Standard there was “no contradiction,” and clarified she never had a “one-on-one meeting” with the ambassador.

FactCheck.org still labeled McCaskill’s claim as “false.”

McCaskill’s 2013 meeting was the one involving a total of seven Democratic senators. She joined several Republicans and six other Democratic senators that day in an appeal to Kislyak for Moscow to reverse its blockade of U.S. adoptions of Russian children.

Other Democratic senators in that meeting were: Sens. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Maria Cantwell of Washington, Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, Jack Reed of Rhode Island, Robert Casey of Pennsylvania and Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island.

Klobuchar said in a statement afterward that she was able to tell Kislyak the stories of families she met in Minnesota. Landrieu is no longer a senator after losing her seat in 2014.

President Trump also took a shot Friday at top Democrats seeking to expose his supposed Russia ties – tweeting out a newly unearthed photo of a younger Sen. Chuck Schumer and Vladimir Putin enjoying coffee and donuts.

“We should start an immediate investigation into @SenSchumer and his ties to Russia and Putin. A total hypocrite!” Trump tweeted.

Schumer tweeted back: “Happily talk re: my contact w Mr. Putin & his associates, took place in ’03 in full view of press & public under oath. Would you &your team?”

While Putin has had contact with U.S. officials for decades, Kislyak also would be a familiar face for longtime Washington lawmakers. He’s been the ambassador to the U.S. since 2008, and served in various posts representing the former Soviet Union in the 1980s.

“I’ve met with the Russian ambassador with a group, in my capacity, with a group of other senators,” Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., told CNN. “That’s in my official capacity. That’s nothing. That’s my job.”

Republican Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt, defending Sessions, said he’s spoken with the Russian ambassador as well.

Meanwhile, The Daily Caller reported that Kislyak is listed as visiting the White House at least 22 times between 2009 and 2016. They likely were a mix of personal meetings and group visits. Roughly half of the visits involved broader receptions with other visitors.

Sessions, at his press conference, downplayed any intrigue behind his meetings with the ambassador last year, including one in September at his office. He said they discussed terrorism and Ukraine, among other topics.

Sessions, in trying to tamp down the controversy, announced he would recuse himself from any investigations pertaining to the campaign, amid bipartisan pressure to separate himself from probes regarding Russian meddling in the race.

But some Democrats are still calling for his resignation, and a special prosecutor.

“It is insufficient for Attorney General Sessions to recuse himself from any matters concerning the presidential campaign. He must resign,” House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer said in a statement late Thursday.

As the past few days have continued to show, the Main Stream Media remain the Vanguard of the National Temper Tantrum which America has witnessed from Modern Liberals since Donald J. Trump was elected the President of the United States of America.

The Liberal Democrats just cannot come to grips that their “perfect” candidate was, in fact, a lousy pick and a hateful, inept, downright mean individual whom they never should have nominated as their Presidential Choice.

One of their arguments has been that Trump did not win the Popular Vote, a “fact” which is suspicious at best and one which is being investigated even as I write this post, with illegal aliens have voted already being discovered in California.

As I have stated before,  the Electoral College was put in place to prevent what the Liberals are still trying to accomplish, which is choosing a President based on the favored Political Ideology of isolated Metropolitan Areas with dense populations.

The Democrats, as a result of their own regional bias toward the major metropolitan areas on the East and West Coasts, which has been obvious to average Americans for the last several decades, effectively divorced themselves from the people whom they claimed in every previous election cycle to “love”…Average Working Class Americans.

To put it in Marital Terms, Average Working Class Americans and the Democratic Party are no longer “evenly yoked”.

The Democrats became the party of the “Upper Crust” and Special Interest Groups, who look down their noses at Americans who live here in “Flyover Country”.

The Democrats assumed, after reading their own press clippings, that all Americans wanted the Progressive/Marxist Political Ideology and style of governance which Barack Hussein Obama practiced during his time as President.

Well, we all know what assuming does, don’t we, boys and girls?

The American People overthrew the “Tyranny of the Minority”, which we have suffered under for the last 8 years on November 8th.

Since then, the Democrats and their minions in the Main Stream Media have thrown everything, including the kitchen sink at President Trump and His Administration.

However, guess what, boys and girls?

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 53% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-seven percent (47%) disapprove. The latest figures include 37% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 36% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of +1. (see trends).

This rolling three-day survey now includes two nights following the president’s nationally televised speech to a joint session of Congress and shows a three-point improvement in his overall approval rating since then. – Rasmussenreports.com

All of this past week’s “Fake News Events” manufactured by the Democrats have been a bunch of “sound and fury…signifying nothing”.

The Democrats had better wake up, grow up, and realize that all this fake news being pushed incessantly is going to backfire and the Dems aren’t going to have another President for 20 years.

Pelosi Denies Obamacare Disaster

pelosigavelRemember the Victory March, which Democrats took on their way  to the signing of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare?

My, how things have changed. Democrats are running away from Obama and his Signature Legislation, like rats jumping off of a sinking ship.

But, hey. The House Minority Leader says, “Nothing to see here. Move along.”

Yesterday, on NBC’s Meet The Press, David Gregory interviewed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, concerning  the disaster that is Obamacare.

DAVID GREGORY: Why aren’t you concerned at this point that this is in grave danger of not being done right?

REP. NANCY PELOSI: Well, I’m very unhappy about the website, as you can just imagine the president is. But I know the makings of the legislation, and what it does for people. And, again, look, this Republican measure on Friday, what makes matters so worse, allows the marketplace to be deprived of people who should be there getting lower prices with better benefits and perhaps even a tax credit.

So that wasn’t a fix, it was a make matters worse. But they’re running a political arena and you expect that. But you can’t be knocked for a loop just because somebody’s playing politics. If that was the case, we would have never passed it in the first place.

DAVID GREGORY: Final point: Democrats won’t lose seats next year over Obamacare?

REP. NANCY PELOSI: I don’t think you can tell what will happen next year. But I will tell you this: Democrats stand tall in support of the Affordable Care Act. We have great candidates who are running, who are concerned about our economy, and are concerned that government was shut down because of a whim on the part of the Republicans, costing us $25 billion to our economy and 0.6% of our GDP growth.

They’re concerned that overwhelmingly the American people support immigration reform, support background checks, support ending discrimination against people in the workplace; all of these kinds of things are the concerns of the American people. Jobs will be the major issue in the campaign, as they always are.

And this is an issue that has to be dealt with, but it doesn’t mean, “Oh, it’s a political issue, so we’re going to run away from it.” No, it’s too valuable for the American people. What is important about it is that the American people are well served, not who gets reelected.

On March 10, 2010, Rep. Pelosi said the following, in a speech to the 2010 Legislative Conference for National Association of Counties…

You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other. But I don’t know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket. Prevention, prevention, prevention—it’s about diet, not diabetes. It’s going to be very, very exciting.

But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.

On June 10, 2012, during a luncheon with Opinion Writers, including The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart, Rep. Pelosi tried to explain her now famous remarks,

“In the fall of the year,” Pelosi said today, “the outside groups…were saying ‘it’s about abortion,’ which it never was. ‘It’s about ‘death panels,’’ which it never was. ‘It’s about a job-killer,’ which it creates four million. ‘It’s about increasing the deficit’; well, the main reason to pass it was to decrease the deficit.” Her contention was that the Senate “didn’t have a bill.” And until the Senate produced an actual piece of legislation that could be matched up and debated against what was passed by the House, no one truly knew what would be voted on. “They were still trying to woo the Republicans,” Pelosi said of the Senate leadership and the White House, trying to “get that 60th vote that never was coming. That’s why [there was a] reconciliation [vote]” that required only a simple majority.

“So, that’s why I was saying we have to pass a bill so we can see so that we can show you what it is and what it isn’t,” Pelosi continued. “It is none of these things. It’s not going to be any of these things.” She recognized that her comment was “a good statement to take out of context.” But the minority leader added, “But the fact is, until you have a bill, you can’t really, we can’t really debunk what they’re saying….”

Despite Pelosi’s protestations, time has revealed to be true that Americans’ concerns about the Affordable Care Act, the legislation which was crafted to socialize the American Healthcare System, and which is designed to lead into a Government-run Single Payor National Healthcare System.

Norman Mattoon Thomas, six-time Socialist candidate for president, said in a 1944 speech, that,

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation without knowing how it happened … The Democratic Party has adopted our (Socialist) platform.

Later, in 1961, Future United States President Ronald Reagan said,

One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.

What give me hope, though, is the backlash to the disastrous launch of Obamacare. Those Americans, who may have been supportive of Obamacare, at first, have now seen the reality of this misbegotten piece of legislation staring them in them face. The high premiums and lost insurance policies have been a cold slap in the face to Americans, who were expecting the legislation to be something quite difference due to the lies and manipulation of Obama, his Administration, Pelosi, Reid, and all of their sycophants in Congress.

Now that reality has set in, Obama and Pelosi’s protestations ring hollow with Americans.

There are two actions which are now paramount:

1. Repeal Obamacare fully.

2. Vote anybody who voted for it, out in 2014.

Congress Now Exempt From Obamacare. If It’s Good Enough For us…?

pelosigavelA long time ago, within the hallowed Halls of Power, a bunch of self-serving politicians took a vote to decimate the greatest Healthcare System in the World. The vote, taken in the middle of the night, went the way they wanted, putting into effect a Government-run Socialized Healthcare System in a Constitutional Republic. Those that passed it were so proud of what they had done, that they paraded through the “unwashed masses”, holding their symbol of power, an over-sized gavel, smiling like jackasses eating yellow- jackets.

As reality struck their constituents, as to what the people who were supposed to represent their wishes had done, a groundswell movement began to form, taking upon themselves the name of “The Tea Party Movement, in honor of those revolutionaries, centuries ago, who expressed their displeasure with a tyrannical, over-taxing king, by tossing crates of English Tea off of a sailing vessel, into Boston Harbor.

Through this Groundswell Movement’s efforts, the minority political party in the nation, became the majority political party, sweeping the 2010 Mid-term Elections, on the promise of lower taxes and the appeal of the Government-run Socialized HealthcareSystem, which had become “affectionately” known as Obamacare.

As time went on, these public servants, elected to power by the acclamation of the over-taxed, seemed to steadily forget why they were elected to their Congressional Seats. They began to exhibit behaviors more in line with the Old Guard of their political party, instead of attacking the issues with the ferocity of Young Lions, as they promised to, if the voters would elect them. The reaching across the aisle and “bi-partisanship” of the two political parties, who are supposed to be political adversaries, has become so widespread, that they seem to be beginning to merge into one political party, much to to frustration and consternation of the voters who sent them to the Halls of Power to represent them, not themselves.

As now, as voters’ disillusionment with the whole dadblamed political system is at its highest, along comes the ultimate insult:

In a ruling issued on Wednesday, U.S. lawmakers and their staffs will continue to receive a federal contribution toward the health insurance that they must purchase through soon-to-open exchanges created by President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law.

The decision by the Office of Personnel Management, with Obama’s blessing, will prevent the largely unintended loss of healthcare benefits for 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives and thousands of Capitol Hill staff.

When Congress passed the health reform law known as Obamacare in 2010, an amendment required that lawmakers and their staff members purchase health insurance through the online exchanges that the law created. They would lose generous coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

The amendment’s author, Republican Senator Charles Grassley, argued that if Obamacare plans were good enough for the American public, they were good enough for Congress. Democrats, eager to pass the reforms, went along with it.

But it soon became apparent the provision contained no language that allowed federal contributions toward their health plans that cover about 75 percent of the premium costs.

This caused fears that staff would suddenly face sharply higher healthcare costs and leave federal service, causing a “brain drain” on Capitol Hill.

But Wednesday’s proposed rule from the OPM, the federal government’s human resources agency, means that Congress will escape the most onerous impact of law as it was written.

The OPM said the federal contributions will be allowed to continue for exchange-purchased plans for lawmakers and their staffs, ensuring that those working on Capitol Hill will effectively get the same health contributions as millions of other federal workers who keep their current plan.

In other words, the same idiots who foisted this travesty of a Government-run Socialized Healthcare System, called Obamacare on us, are now exempt from it.

So, Government Bureaucracy and Death Panels are good enough for us, but not for them?

I thought that the Republican Leaders in the House and Senate wanted to defund this monstrosity, not be exempt from it. Who are they working for…themselves?

If Cryin’ John Boehner and the rest of the Vichy Republicans don’ call the whole Congress out on this latest development, than they are no better than San Fran Nan Pelosi and the rest of the Marxist/Alinsky-ite Democrats

They are drinking from the same through of grape Kool-Aid.

Our Founding Fathers envisioned Congress as being filled with public servants, who would be elected by their community to represent them in our Federal Government, serve out their term, and then go back home and resume their normal lives.

Over the years, public service has degenerated into selfish avarice. The “citizen servant” has become the professional politician, running for office time and time again. until their literally keel over and die on the House or Senate Floor.

What started out as altruistic servitude, usually winds up being unbridled, self-serving corruption.

yes, there are still some “citizen servants”, but, at least in this day and age, the seem to be few and far between. It seemingly does not take very long for wide-eyed good-hearted freshmen Representatives and Senators, to become jaded, self-serving political hacks, who only seem to care about their constituency’s concerns when it is during their next campaign.

To those, like Ted Cruz, who seem genuinely concerned about defunding Obamacare…thank you for working on behalf of the American people.

To the Vichy Republicans, please follow up on your numerous promises to do the same.

It would behoove you to speak out about this double standard and continue to work on defunding Obamacare.

…as if your jobs depend on it.

Because they do.

The Shelby County School Consolidation: A Lesson in Liberal Overestimation

children41313I was entering the tenth grade in 1973, when forced busing began in the city of Memphis, TN. To say that it was a time of great upheaval would be an understatement.

In my Middle Class neighborhood, in my typical Memphis City School, our administration tried to make accommodations for the new students. They decided that there would be two Sophomore Commissioners on the Student Council, a White one and a Black one. I was elected as the White Commissioner, and the last I heard of the fellow who became the Black Commissioner, he was a Doctor at Johns Hopkins.

And now, 40 years later, students in the Former Shelby County School System, are beginning to enter their own “Brave New World.”.

You see, a couple of years ago, the then overwhelmingly majority-Black Memphis City School System was swirling down the ol’ porcelain receptacle at an alarming rate. Decades of poor management and fiscal irresponsibility had taken a fatal toll. The City School Board was besieged by parents and city leaders alike, wanting them to actually do their jobs, and turn the struggling school system around. Of course, neither they, nor the school system’s overpaid administration had a clue as to how to actually be fiscally responsible leaders.

So, one of the mountebanks on the school board had an idea: Surrender the System’s Charter to the state, thereby dissolving the System, and forcing a merger with the fiscally sound, White-majority Shelby County School System.

In fact, in the “interest of fairness”, they held a referendum to allow the citizens to vote on whether to merge the school systems or not. The motion overwhelmingly passed.

Of course, the fact that they only allowed Memphis residents, and not the entire county to vote on the measure, probably had something to do with the outcome, don’t ya think?

An Interim School Board was formed, whose make-up just happens to have more representatives from the city system on it than the county’s. (Yeah. I was shocked, too. …Not.)

Then a discussion was started as to which School Superintendent to keep, the City’s or the County’s.

They “compromised” and gave both of them the boot.

But, not so fast. Again, “in the interest of fairness”, an attorney for the City Schools was made the new Superintendent. (Are you catching on, yet?)

Sounds like things were going just as the City School Board’s Professional Politicians planned, huh?

Well, in every life a little rain must fall. The Tennessee State Legislature ruled that the municipalities in the county could form their own separate school systems, if their citizens voted for it.

They did. (Dateline: July 16, 2013)

Voters in six Memphis suburbs decided Tuesday [July  to start public school districts in the municipalities where they live.

Residents of Arlington, Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Lakeland and Millington overwhelmingly approved separate school systems in the second vote on the issue in less than a year. A federal judge invalidated the first vote.

More than 90 percent of voters in four of the six suburbs voted to approve new school systems, according to the Shelby County Election Commission. Eighty-seven percent of voters in Lakeland and 74 percent in Millington voted “yes.”

The suburbs want to avoid the massive merger between the struggling Memphis City Schools system and the more successful Shelby County Schools system. Suburban leaders and many parents fear that education quality and academic achievement will suffer if they join the huge merged system — known as the Unified School District — and they want control of their own school systems.

The merger, which has created a school system of 150,000 students, is to begin operating when classes start in August. Experts say the merger represents one of the largest school consolidations in decades.

But the makeup of that system could only last a year — the six new suburban systems could start operating in 2014.

Critics say the suburban separation will hamper the massive consolidation efforts, which have included intense budget battles and layoffs of hundreds of teachers and office employees. Some board members in the unified district worry about losing quality teachers and administrators to the new districts. They also stand to lose valuable tax dollars to the breakaway systems.

But the six suburbs have been galvanized in their efforts, spending hundreds of thousands in taxpayer dollars in a campaign that has included community meetings, public rallies and a bitter legal fight in federal court. All six municipalities already have voted to raise taxes to pay for schools.

A judge in November ruled that the earlier suburban schools vote in August 2012 violated the Tennessee constitution because it dealt with only one county. Lawmakers in Nashville wrote and passed a new law that applied statewide and allowed Tuesday’s vote.

You know , I saw yesterday where Nancy Pelosi and her Liberal brethren want to have a “National Conversation on Race”, in the wake of George Zimmerman being found not guilty of murder, in the case of Trayvon Martin.

This would not be a conversation, it would be a lecture, given by a bunch of didactic, pompous Liberals, who believe that they are smarter than average Americans.

Just like the Memphis City School Board thought that they were being smart by completely destroying what was once an award-winning school system, instead of taking responsibility for their own actions, or lack thereof.

Do you see the parallel, boys and girls?

Liberals overestimate their own intelligence…and nothing good ever comes from it.

Pelosi: Celebrate Obamacare on Independence Day!

pelosigavelYesterday morning, during her weekly Press Briefing Former Speaker of the House and genuine nutjob “San Fran Nan” Pelosi had a suggestion as to how red-blooded Americans should celebrate the Fourth of July this year,

Pretty soon we’ll all be leaving for the Fourth of July recess. Next week when we celebrate Independence Day, we’ll also be observing health independence. This marks one year since the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act. “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” The Affordable Care Act offers just that: A healthier life, liberty [to] pursue [a] person’s happiness, to be free of constraint, the job locked, uhh, because they’re policy locked. So, if you wanted to be a cameraman, a writer, you want to be self-employed, if you want to start a business, if you want to change jobs — whatever is you want to do — you are free.

After I laughed, cried, hurled, and banged my head on my desk all at the same time, I came to, and realized that this idiot actually believed what she was saying. She actually wants Americans to celebrate the end of the greatest Healthcare System on God’s Green Earth, instead of celebrating the founding of the greatest nation in that same world.

Before America’s Congressional cowards passed the abomination now known as Obamacare in March of 2010, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told the American people that we would have to let them pass Obamacare so “that we will know what is in it”.  Here are three lies that Pelosi’s buddy, President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) boldly told us before they passed Obamacare and the truth uncovered about these three lies since then:

1)  LIE:  Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) said in an address to a joint session of Congress, to sell health care reform, in September 2009:

One more misunderstanding I want to clear up — under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.

And then:

Whitehouse.blogs.com 3/21/10 – Today, the President announced that he will be issuing an executive order after the passage of the health insurance reform law that will reaffirm its consistency with longstanding restrictions on the use of federal funds for abortion.

While the legislation as written maintains current law, the executive order provides additional safeguards to ensure that the status quo is upheld and enforced, and that the health care legislation’s restrictions against the public funding of abortions cannot be circumvented.

The President has said from the start that this health insurance reform should not be the forum to upset longstanding precedent. The health care legislation and this executive order are consistent with this principle.

The President is grateful for the tireless efforts of leaders on both sides of this issue to craft a consensus approach that allows the bill to move forward.

TRUTH:  Later, news leaked out that The Health and Human Services Department was giving Pennsylvania $160 million for the establishment of a new high-risk insurance pool that will cover any abortion that is legal in the state.

2) LIE:   Also in September of 2009, Obama gave an interview to George Stephanopoulos, former member of the Clinton administration and now an anchor for ABC News.  Here is an excerpt from that interview:

By the way, was that a lateral career move?  But I digress…

STEPHANOPOULOS:  …during the campaign.  Under this mandate, the government is forcing people to spend money, fining you if you don’t. How is that not a tax?

OBAMA:  Well, hold on a second, George. Here — here’s what’s happening.  You and I are both paying $900, on average — our families — in higher premiums because of uncompensated care.  Now what I’ve said is that if you can’t afford health insurance, you certainly shouldn’t be punished for that.  That’s just piling on. If, on the other hand, we’re giving tax credits, we’ve set up an exchange, you are now part of a big pool, we’ve driven down the costs, we’ve done everything we can and you actually can afford health insurance, but you’ve just decided, you know what, I want to take my chances.  And then you get hit by a bus and you and I have to pay for the emergency room care, that’s…

OBAMA:  No, but — but, George, you — you can’t just make up that language and decide that that’s called a tax increase.  Any…

STEPHANOPOULOS:  Here’s the…

OBAMA:  What — what — if I — if I say that right now your premiums are going to be going up by 5 or 8 or 10 percent next year and you say well, that’s not a tax increase; but, on the other hand, if I say that I don’t want to have to pay for you not carrying coverage even after I give you tax credits that make it affordable, then…

TRUTH:  Under Obamacare, signed into law by Obama in March 2009, the majority of Americans will have to maintain “minimum essential coverage” starting in 2014. Many people will be eligible for federal subsidies to assist in paying their premiums.

In a brief defending the law, the Department Of Justice said the requirement for people to carry insurance or pay the penalty is “a valid exercise” of Congress’s power to impose taxes.

Congress can use its taxing power “even for purposes that would exceed its powers under other provisions” of the Constitution, the department said.

Of course, later, Chief Justice “”Benedict Arnold” Roberts and the Libs on the Supreme Court would agree with the president and the DOJ.

While Congress was working on the health care legislation, Scooter would not acknowledge that a mandate to buy insurance, enforced by financial penalties, was equivalent to a tax.

3)  LIE:  At a town hall event Aug. 15, 2009, in Grand Junction, Colo.,Obama said:

[i]f you like your health care plan, you keep your health care plan. Nobody is going to force you to leave your health care plan. If you like your doctor, you keep seeing your doctor. I don’t want government bureaucrats meddling in your health care. But the point is, I don’t want insurance company bureaucrats meddling in your health care either.

And he also said:

I expect that after reform passes, the vast majority of Americans are still going to be getting their insurance from private insurers.

Truth:  Perhaps, perhaps not. Recently, the Ohio Department of Insurance made an announcement that, based on the rates submitted by insurers to date, the average individual-market health insurance premium in 2014 will rise to around $420, “representing an increase of 88 percent” relative to 2013.

The rates that Ohio reported still have to be approved by the Department of Insurance.Out of proposed rates for 214 plans sent to the Department, projected costs from the companies for providing coverage for the required [by Obamacare] essential health benefits ranged from $282.51 to $577.40 for individual health insurance plans.

Congresswoman Pelosi needs to increase her senility medication.

The Fourth of July is a celebration of American Freedom. It is not a celebration of the new American Proletariats’  [our] forced servitude to the new Politboro.

Pelosi: Christmas = “Bonding Ritual”

pelosiwitchYesterday, from the Floor of the House of Representatives, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said the following:

Is there not an appreciation for the Jewish holidays? The Christmas holiday? Kwanzaa? All the other things that families come together around? Bonding rituals important to the strength of our society? Do we not care about that? Well, the American people do. And they want to shop for it.

Where to begin?

Kwanzaa?

From discoverthenetworks.org:

Kwanzaa is a week-long festival celebrated mainly in the U.S. from December 26 through January 1 each year. It was established in 1966 by the socialist and black nationalist Maulana Karenga, who promoted the holiday as a black alternative to Christmas. Karenga’s idea was to celebrate the end of what he considered the Christmas-season exploitation of African Americans.

According to the official Kwanzaa website, the celebration was originally designed to foster “conditions that would enhance the revolutionary social change for the masses of Black Americans,” and to provide a “reassessment, reclaiming, recommitment, remembrance, retrieval, resumption, resurrection and rejuvenation of those principles (Way of Life) utilized by Black Americans’ ancestors.”

Karenga postulated seven major principles to be emphasized during Kwanzaa, identifying each by its Swahili name:

Unity (Umoja)

Self-Determination (Kujichaguila)

Collective Work and Responsibility (Ujima)

Cooperative Economics (Ujamaa)

Purpose (Nia)

Creativity (Kuumba)

Faith (Imani)

Ironically, these seven principles as a whole mirror precisely the principles that were embraced by the Symbionese Liberation Army, a pro-Marxist, revolutionary terrorist group of the 1970s.

The symbol most identified with Kwanzaa consists of seven colored candles placed in a menorah-like candelabrum. These candles borrow their color scheme from Marcus Garvey’s old black nationalist ensign. The lone black candle represents the so-called “black race.” The three red candles evoke images of socialist realism with bloody red banners waving to rally the oppressed for the overthrow of the established order. And the three green candles are meant to recall the splendor of Africa’s landscapes.

When Karenga first established Kwanzaa, he and his votaries also crafted a flag of black nationalism and a pledge: “We pledge allegiance to the red, black, and green, our flag, the symbol of our eternal struggle, and to the land we must obtain; one nation of black people, with one G-d of us all, totally united in the struggle, for black love, black freedom, and black self-determination.”

The philosophy underlying Kwanzaa is known as Kawaida, a variation of classical Marxism that also includes enmity toward white people. Practitioners of Kawaida believe that one’s racial identity “determines life conditions, life chances, and self-understanding” — just as Marxists identify class as the determining factor of one’s life conditions.

“Bonding Rituals”?

Gosh, Nancy. We used to call that “The Dinner Table”.

Christmas is not “a Bonding Ritual”. It is the celebration of the birth of the Savior.

I thought you were supposed to be Catholic?

The fact that the Former Speaker of the House calls such an important day of worship and celebration, a “Bonding Ritual”, says a lot. That kind of stupid, convoluted Liberal thinking helps to explain this:

The Navy directed service members serving in Bahrain to cancel and dismantle a “Live Nativity” after receiving a complaint from a military atheist group who said the manger scene endangered Americans serving in a Muslim country and violated the U .S. Constitution.

The chaplain at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Bahrain confirmed to Fox News the nativity scene was cancelled – but referred any further comments to the NSA’s public information officer.

The “Live Nativity” was a long-standing tradition at NSA Bahrain that featured the children of military personnel dressed as shepherds, wise men, along with Mary and Joseph. It was part of a larger festival that included a tree lighting, Christmas music and photographs with Santa Claus and a camel.

But the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers objected to the Nativity and filed a complaint with the Navy’s Inspector General. They argued the Nativity promoted “Christianity as the official religion of the base.”

The atheist group also worried that the Nativity put service members in danger.

“Also of concern is the likelihood that the predominantly Muslim local population will see the U.S. military as a Christian force rather than a secular military support U.S. – but not necessarily Christian values in their Muslim country,” the MAAF wrote in their complaint. “This even threatens U.S. security and violates the Constitution as well as command policy.”

“It’s unconstitutional, it’s bad for the military and in a Muslim country it’s dangerous,” MAAF spokesman Jason Torpy told Fox News.

“Upon further review, the CRP (Command Religious Program) will be removing the Living Nativity Program from the general base secular holiday festivities and co-locating it more appropriately with some of our other private religious and faith-based observances at the chapel at a separate time,” read a statement the Navy reportedly sent the NAAF.

Some service members in Bahrain told Fox News called the cancellation heartbreaking and children who were supposed to act in the Nativity were devastated.

“It was horrible,” said one officer who asked not to be identified. “It was devastating. Here we are serving in the Middle East, defending our country and other people’s religions and we couldn’t understand why we can’t enjoy our own religious freedoms.”

It’s simple, sir/madam.  The Liberals in charge of our country don’t view the celebration of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, as an exercise of our religious freedom, anymore.

They view it as nothing but a “Bonding Ritual”.
