Have Americans Finally Figured Out Obama?

obamaobliviousI was just reading an opinion piece by CBS New’s Rebecca Kaplan, in which she holds out hope that President Obama can at least get some of his foreign and domestic plans accomplished during his second term as President.

Unfortunately for Ms. Kaplan, the rest of the Obama Worshipers in the Main Stream Media, both sides of the political aisle in Congress, and the President and his Administration, judging by his rapidly-tanking poll approval numbers, Barack Hussein Obama is already a lame duck.

I feel that there are several factors which have lead to Obama’s political demise:

1. Obamacare – As I have well-documented, the passage and launch of Obamacare was done against the wishes of the average American. It was an arrogant, socialist move, designed to lead to a Single Payer Healthcare System, which is what Liberals have wanted for decades.

The experts tell us that up to 80,000,000 Americans will lose their Health Insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Obama and his those who wrote the law counted on the young and dumb to buy these un-affordable plans, thereby providing the money necessary to fund Obamacare and take care of older Americans, before they are cut off from Obamacare, due to a “Quality of Life” decision (i.e., Death Panels).

These same experts did not count on the fact that young adults do not need, nor want extensive, over-priced Health Insurance Plans. They also did not count on the huge blow-back against the law by Americans, who have now seen what is actually in the plan.

Even if Obama had not given the construction of the website to a Canadian Company who had already failed in Canada, the impact of Obamcare would have been enough to put the President in the situation he finds himself in now.

2. Siding With Our Enemies – As the recent proposed “agreement” with the Radical Mullahs of Iran has proven, Obama, as British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain before him, so desperately wants to be known as a leader who brought us “peace in our time”, that he is willing to unconditionally trust our enemies, regardless of the danger to our Allies, and the country he is supposed to place above all others, the United States of America.

This Nuclear Proposal has been universally panned as weak and dangerous, doing nothing to restrict the Iranians’ bomb-making capabilities.

It is basically an extension of the policy which allowed the Muslim Brotherhood to attempt to take over Egypt as a part of “Arab Spring”, a policy of trusting murderous Radical Muslims, which lead to the slaughter of Christians in the Middle East and 4 braver Americans at the U.S. Embassy Compound in Benghazi, Libya.

The word “feckless” does not even begin to cover it.

3. “It’s still the economy, stupid!” – Americans are still losing their jobs. The American Economy under Barack Hussein Obama remains stagnant because entrepreneurship is not encouraged.

Now is about the time when a Liberal would ask, “Well what about the Stock Market? It’s gaining everyday!”

The answer is a fairly simple one, according to Farrokh Langdana, Director, Executive MBA Program & Professor of Finance and Economics, Rutgers Business School,

When designing the Fed, we took care to ensure that a “firewall” existed between the money creating people (The Fed) and the government spending people (the Treasury). This was , of course, to prevent runaway spending from being simply monetized by money creation; which would of course lead to hyperinflation, and who wants that?

But there should have been another firewall that is now conspicuous by its absence – a firewall between the Fed and the private banks that own each Federal Bank. The Fed is owned by the banks in each district—it is a private institution. There is nothing “Federal” about the Fed—it is as “Federal” as Fedex, or Federal Pizza. By not building a firewall between the Fed and the banks that own it, we left the door open for the Great Betrayal.

The Fed under Ben and Greenspan before him, simply “looked out” for the private banks by having taxpayers hold the bag on all the questionable subprime loans that they had made—QE1 and QE2, unbelievably huge monetization incurred by simply buying up the toxic debt and creating money, were the result of this giveaway. Regular working people, “Granny,” endured zero percent on her savings account for several years, while rogue financial institutions got this Fed-created money and lent it out at 6% and then rewarded themselves with bonuses—welcome to the Great Betrayal and the ensuing collapse in confidence in main street USA compounded by depressed housing and low employment.

Just like this entire Presidency, the Wall Street Surge is a sham.

4. Judge a President by the Company He Keeps – During the Presidency of George W. Bush, he was known for spending Thanksgiving with America’s Brightest and Best, our Armed Forces. Without telling anyone where he was going, He and the First Lady would travel to one of our bases overseas and assist in serving Thanksgiving Dinner to our troops. Dubya actively sought no publicity for it. It was just something he felt was his duty as Commander in Chief.

The present president thanked America’s Armed Forces during his Thanksgiving Address, and said that the First Family was going to spend the day at the White House “watching football”.

However, the Obamas did get out of Our House the next day, visiting some activists, camped out in a tent on the National Mall, who have only drank water since November 12th, in support of “Immigration Reform”, i.e., amnesty for those who have entered our country illegally. President Obama told them that the “whole country was behind them”.

Really? And “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.”

Back on November 8th, a Pew Poll showed that 60% of Americans oppose Obama’s plans for “Immigration Reform”.

Conservatives have been pointing out for years that Obama’s viewpoint and political philosophy does not represent the majority of average Americans.Judging from the direction in which his approval poll numbers are trending, I would say that more Americans are beginning to fell that way, as well.

Obama to Close Vatican Embassy. “Security Concerns” or Petulant Payback?

obamabillofrightsAfter We Win This Election, It’s Our Turn. Payback Time! – Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to President Barack Hussein Obama

Just when you think that Obama and his minions have pulled all of the dirty tricks that they possibly can….they surprise you…and pull another one.

Or, as Bullwinkle J. Moose said to Rocket J. Squirrel,

Hey, Rocky…wanna see me pull a rabbit out of my hat?

Rocky:  Again?

The Holy See is the diplomatic representative of the Roman Catholic Church and the Pope with its headquarters in Vatican City. The United States maintained a presence in Rome throughout the nineteenth century. The United States at different times had a Minister to the Papal States, Minister to the Pontifical States, and finally, a Minister to Rome from 1848 until Kingdom of Italy conquered Rome in 1870. Throughout much of the twentieth century, successive U.S. Presidents sent a Personal Representative to the Holy See.

The United States Embassy to the Holy See is located on the Aventine hill in the beautiful Villa Domiziana, a private residence, built in 1953. In 1994 the United States government bought the property and turned it into the new chancery for the U.S. Embassy to the Holy See.

Formal diplomatic relations with the Holy See were begun in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II. The mission works in partnership with the Holy See on global issues including HIV/AIDS, world hunger, religious freedom and human rights.

However, the 44th President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, wants to close the Vatican Embassy.

According to the National Catholic Reporter

Plans to move the U.S. embassy to the Vatican onto the grounds of the larger American embassy to Italy, though in a separate building and with a distinct entrance, are drawing fire from five former American envoys despite the tacit consent of the Vatican itself.

Justified primarily on the grounds of enhanced security, the move is described by former U.S. Ambassador James Nicholson, who’s also a former Secretary of Veterans Affairs in the Bush administration and a former chair of the Republican National Committee, as a “massive downgrade” in U.S./Vatican ties.

“It’s turning this embassy into a stepchild of the embassy to Italy,” Nicholson said.

“The Holy See is a pivot point for international affairs and a major listening post for the United States,” he said, “and to shoehorn [the U.S. delegation] into an office annex inside another embassy is an insult to American Catholics and to the Vatican.”

Nicholson, who spoke in an interview Wednesday with NCR, joins former Bush envoys Francis Rooney and Mary Ann Glendon as well as Raymond Flynn, the first Clinton ambassador, and Thomas Melady, who served the first President Bush, in objecting.

“In the diplomatic world, if you don’t have your own separate space, you’re on the road to nowhere,” said Rooney, who served as ambassador from 2005 to 2008. He’s author of The Global Vatican, a new book on U.S./Vatican relations.

While the move has not yet been publicly announced, a contract for renovations to the new facility has been awarded, and it’s tentatively scheduled to open in January 2015. The embassy is presently located in a building near Rome’s Circus Maximus, roughly 3 miles away from the other American diplomatic facilities in the city.

Although the Vatican traditionally has insisted that countries maintain embassies in distinct locations as a way of underscoring its autonomy, signals in this case suggest it won’t protest the relocation.

On background, a senior Vatican official told NCR on Monday that safety is a “real concern,” especially in the wake of a lethal June 2012 assault on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, that claimed the lives of an American ambassador and three other officials. A U.S. State Department report after that assault recommended consolidating facilities wherever possible.

The all-encompassing excuse of “security concerns” is a catch-all in this case. The Obama Administration has been attempting to marginalize the Catholic Church in America for quite a while now.

Obama and his Adminstration expect Catholic Institutions to go against their faith, in deference to what they perceive to be a “higher power”: Obamacare.

The Catholic League shot back in January of 2012…with both barrels.

The following was our response to the announcement of the Obama administration’s edict mandating coverage of sterilization and contraceptive services in most healthcare plans:

Secretary of HHS Kathleen Sebelius said that aside from houses of worship, all other religious agencies and organizations will be required to provide sterilization and contraceptive services, including abortifacients, in their employee healthcare plans; none will be allowed to charge co-pays or deductibles. The policy goes into effect in August 2013 for these entities.

Sebelius explained how her directive applies to non-church religious entities such as Catholic hospitals and universities: “Employers wishing to take advantage of the additional year must certify that they qualify for the delayed implementation. This additional year will allow these organizations more time and flexibility to adapt to this new rule.” She also said, “I believe this proposal strikes the appropriate balance between religious freedom and increasing access to important preventive services.”

That this edict was being announced in an election year indicates both contempt for the First Amendment and plain stupidity.

Things have not gotten any better in this “strained relationship”.

In fact, in a related note, the Supreme Court announced yesterday that it will hear arguments concerning the requirement that employers offer access to contraception coverage. The two case being presented are both private companies, Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties whose owners are Christians who refuse to provide free contraception coverage, as that practice would go against their Christian Faith.

I find it quite revealing that, while Obama is requiring nothing from the murderous, barbaric country of Iran, and deemed his Nuclear Negotiations a “success”, he is not willing to negotiate with Christian Americans, who are simply standing for Christ, in defense of their faith and their right to Religious Freedom.

Priorities…and petulance.

Obama: “Sometimes People Forget I’m Not Running for Office Again.”

obamalameduckThe 44th President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) is, effectively, a lame duck. He cannot get anything passed on Capitol Hill. He has more scandals hanging over him than the late Elizabeth Taylor had ex-husbands. And, the Americans who actually voted for the guy are experiencing more buyer’s regret than former Yugo owners.

Everything he has tried to do domestically to fix the horrible economical conditions which he created, has failed miserably.

His Foreign Policy, including his Deal of Appeasement with Iran, has been so toothless, Pee Wee Herman seems like Genghis Khan in comparison.

And to top it all off, Obama’s Signature Legislation, the Affordable Care Act, has fallen down into a clump on the floor faster than one of Miley Cyrus’ outfits.

So, what does Obama do well? I mean, what is he trained to do?

The answer is simple.

From 1985 – 1988, Obama was a Community Organizer in Chicago.  What does a Community Organizer do?  I’m glad you asked.

Per Byron York in an article found at nationalreview.com:

Community organizing is most identified with the left-wing Chicago activist Saul Alinsky (1909-72), who pretty much defined the profession. In his classic book, Rules for Radicals, Alinsky wrote that a successful organizer should be “an abrasive agent to rub raw the resentments of the people of the community; to fan latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expressions.” Once such hostilities were “whipped up to a fighting pitch,” Alinsky continued, the organizer steered his group toward confrontation, in the form of picketing, demonstrating, and general hell-raising.

Obama was hired by Jerry Kellman, a New Yorker who had gotten into organizing in the 1960s.  Kellman was trying to help laid-off factory workers on the far South Side of Chicago, in a nearly 100% black community.   He led a group, the Calumet Community Religious Conference, that had been created by several local Catholic  Churches in the industrial community.   Kellman was advised to hire a black organizer for a new spinoff from CCRC.  They called it the Developing Communities Project, designed to focus solely on the Chicago part of the area.

One of Obama’s projects while he was there, was to try to build an alliance of white and black churches and enlist them in the cause of social justice.  Obama had a problem, though.   He didn’t go to church himself.   And that, brothers and sisters, is how Obama, drawn to the preaching of Rev. Jeremiah Wright (and a political opportunity), joined Trinity United Church of Christ on 95th Street.

If you ask Obama’s fellow Community Organizers what his most significant accomplishments were, they’ll say two things: the expansion of a city summer-job program for South Side teenagers and the removal of asbestos from one of the area’s oldest housing projects.   Those  were his biggest victories.

A Community Organizer’s job is to campaign against the “Enemy of the People”. By using these tactics tp create a National Atmosphere of Class Warfare, Obama has become the most divisive President in the history of the United States.

So, why does he keep campaigning?

Back on March 13th, Rush Limbaugh said the following on his radio program about the Campaigner-in-Chief…

…I’m talking about the perception that he’s creating with the perpetual campaign, the perception among low-information voters. They think that Obama is still fighting these powerful forces that are doing great harm to the country. And he’s come up with idea after idea. He had the stimulus to try to fix the roads and bridges, and he promised that he’d do a health care plan that would lower everybody’s premiums, and he said that whatever program he did would never add a dime to the deficit, and people believed that. None of that happens, but it’s not tied to him, because he’s not seen as in charge of it. It’s the magic, the beauty of constantly running against something, in this case, the Republicans, or the bad news, or the sorry events that are taking place in the country.

The key for Obama and the low-information voters that vote Democrat is to make sure that he’s not seen as having any relationship to these events. This is where you and I for four years were pulling our hair out trying to figure out how in the world, with all of this bad news, with all this unemployment, the stagnant or plummeting economy, no increase in salary, no increase in disposable wages, none of this, no economic improvement at all, why does this guy continue to be popular and get reelected? And it’s because nobody associates him with the bad things happening in the country.

Yesterday, a new CNN/ORC Poll was published, which shows that 53% of Americans now view Obama as untrustworthy.

So now, Obama, with any trustworthiness he actually had left, rapidly becoming a thing of the past, has a huge problem.

The fact is, those Americans who used to actually TRUST him..no longer do. And, the key to community organizing…errr…campaigning…is to build up a trust between you and your audience, so that they will actually believe what you are telling them…and act upon it.

Additionally, with Americans having deemed him untrustworthy, it is no longer possible for him to distance himself from the failed policies and programs, not to mention the scandals, which he, as the President of the United States, is responsible for.

With Obama having betrayed the trust of the American People though his numerous blatant lies, his “Governing By Campaigning” strategy is no longer working for him, and simply adds to America’s growing perception of him, as flailing around in the deep end…when he should have stayed in the Kiddie Pool.

Yesterday, while campaigning for Amnesty…errr…Immigration Reform, in San Francisco, California,  Obama said,

Sometimes People Forget I’m Not Running for Office Again.

Well, Scooter…if you would quit flying all of the country, campaigning on our dime…perhaps we would be able to forget you…and, be better off for it.

“Peace in Our Time II?”

obamabowOn October 3, 1938, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, gave the following infamous speech in from of his nation’s Parliament, announcing the appeasement of Hitler’s Barbaric Third Reich…

Before I come to describe the Agreement which was signed at Munich in the small hours of Friday morning last, I would like to remind the House of two things which I think it very essential not to forget when those terms are being considered. The first is this: We did not go there to decide whether the predominantly German areas in the Sudetenland should be passed over to the German Reich. That had been decided already. Czechoslovakia had accepted the Anglo-French proposals. What we had to consider was the method, the conditions and the time of the transfer of the territory. The second point to remember is that time was one of the essential factors. All the elements were present on the spot for the outbreak of a conflict which might have precipitated the catastrophe. We had populations inflamed to a high degree; we had extremists on both sides ready to work up and provoke incidents; we had considerable quantities of arms which were by no means confined to regularly organised forces. Therefore, it was essential that we should quickly reach a conclusion, so that this painful and difficult operation of transfer might be carried out at the earliest possible moment and concluded as soon as was consistent, with orderly procedure, in order that we might avoid the possibility of something that might have rendered all our attempts at peaceful solution useless. . . .

. . . To those who dislike an ultimatum, but who were anxious for a reasonable and orderly procedure, every one of [the] modifications [of the Godesberg Memorandum by the Munich Agreement] is a step in the right direction. It is no longer an ultimatum, but is a method which is carried out largely under the supervision of an international body.

Before giving a verdict upon this arrangement, we should do well to avoid describing it as a personal or a national triumph for anyone. The real triumph is that it has shown that representatives of four great Powers can find it possible to agree on a way of carrying out a difficult and delicate operation by discussion instead of by force of arms, and thereby they have averted a catastrophe which would have ended civilisation as we have known it. The relief that our escape from this great peril of war has, I think, everywhere been mingled in this country with a profound feeling of sympathy.

[Hon. Members: Shame.] I have nothing to be ashamed of. Let those who have, hang their heads. We must feel profound sympathy for a small and gallant nation in the hour of their national grief and loss. Mr. Bellenger: It is an insult to say it.

The Prime Minister: I say in the name of this House and of the people of this country that Czechoslovakia has earned our admiration and respect for her restraint, for her dignity, for her magnificent discipline in face of such a trial as few nations have ever been called upon to meet.

The army, whose courage no man has ever questioned, has obeyed the order of their president, as they would equally have obeyed him if he had told them to march into the trenches. It is my hope and my belief, that under the new system of guarantees, the new Czechoslovakia will find a greater security than she has ever enjoyed in the past. . . .

I pass from that subject, and I would like to say a few words in respect of the various other participants, besides ourselves, in the Munich Agreement. After everything that has been said about the German Chancellor today and in the past, I do feel that the House ought to recognise the difficulty for a man in that position to take back such emphatic declarations as he had already made amidst the enthusiastic cheers of his supporters, and to recognise that in consenting, even though it were only at the last moment, to discuss with the representatives of other Powers those things which he had declared he had already decided once for all, was a real and a substantial contribution on his part. With regard to Signor Mussolini, . . . I think that Europe and the world have reason to be grateful to the head of the Italian government for his work in contributing to a peaceful solution.

In my view the strongest force of all, one which grew and took fresh shapes and forms every day war, the force not of any one individual, but was that unmistakable sense of unanimity among the peoples of the world that war must somehow be averted. The peoples of the British Empire were at one with those of Germany, of France and of Italy, and their anxiety, their intense desire for peace, pervaded the whole atmosphere of the conference, and I believe that that, and not threats, made possible the concessions that were made. I know the House will want to hear what I am sure it does not doubt, that throughout these discussions the Dominions, the Governments of the Dominions, have been kept in the closest touch with the march of events by telegraph and by personal contact, and I would like to say how greatly I was encouraged on each of the journeys I made to Germany by the knowledge that I went with the good wishes of the Governments of the Dominions. They shared all our anxieties and all our hopes. They rejoiced with us that peace was preserved, and with us they look forward to further efforts to consolidate what has been done.

Ever since I assumed my present office my main purpose has been to work for the pacification of Europe, for the removal of those suspicions and those animosities which have so long poisoned the air. The path which leads to appeasement is long and bristles with obstacles. The question of Czechoslovakia is the latest and perhaps the most dangerous. Now that we have got past it, I feel that it may be possible to make further progress along the road to sanity.

History repeats itself…

Last night, President Barack Hussein Obama addressed the nation for the White House

While today’s announcement is just a first step, it achieves a great deal. For the first time in nearly a decade, we have halted the progress of the Iranian nuclear program, and key parts of the program will be rolled back. Iran has committed to halting certain levels of enrichment and neutralizing part of its stockpiles. Iran cannot use its next-generation centrifuges, which are used for enriching uranium. Iran cannot install or start up new centrifuges, and its production of centrifuges will be limited. Iran will halt work at its plutonium reactor. And new inspections will provide extensive access to Iran’s nuclear facilities and allow the international community to verify whether Iran is keeping its commitments.

These are substantial limitations which will help prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon. Simply put, they cut off Iran’s most likely paths to a bomb. Meanwhile, this first step will create time and space over the next six months for more negotiations to fully address our comprehensive concerns about the Iranian program. And because of this agreement, Iran cannot use negotiations as cover to advance its program.

On our side, the United States and our friends and allies have agreed to provide Iran with modest relief, while continuing to apply our toughest sanctions. We will refrain from imposing new sanctions, and we will allow the Iranian government access to a portion of the revenue that they have been denied through sanctions. But the broader architecture of sanctions will remain in place and we will continue to enforce them vigorously. And if Iran does not fully meet its commitments during this six-month phase, we will turn off the relief and ratchet up the pressure.

Over the next six months, we will work to negotiate a comprehensive solution. We approach these negotiations with a basic understanding: Iran, like any nation, should be able to access peaceful nuclear energy. But because of its record of violating its obligations, Iran must accept strict limitations on its nuclear program that make it impossible to develop a nuclear weapon.

In these negotiations, nothing will be agreed to unless everything is agreed to. The burden is on Iran to prove to the world that its nuclear program will be exclusively for peaceful purposes.

… The world is united in support of our determination to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon. Iran must know that security and prosperity will never come through the pursuit of nuclear weapons — it must be reached through fully verifiable agreements that make Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons impossible.

As we go forward, the resolve of the United States will remain firm, as will our commitments to our friends and allies –- particularly Israel and our Gulf partners, who have good reason to be skeptical about Iran’s intentions.

Ultimately, only diplomacy can bring about a durable solution to the challenge posed by Iran’s nuclear program. As President and Commander-in-Chief, I will do what is necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. But I have a profound responsibility to try to resolve our differences peacefully, rather than rush towards conflict. Today, we have a real opportunity to achieve a comprehensive, peaceful settlement, and I believe we must test it.

The first step that we’ve taken today marks the most significant and tangible progress that we’ve made with Iran since I took office. And now we must use the months ahead to pursue a lasting and comprehensive settlement that would resolve an issue that has threatened our security — and the security of our allies — for decades. It won’t be easy, and huge challenges remain ahead. But through strong and principled diplomacy, the United States of America will do our part on behalf of a world of greater peace, security, and cooperation among nations.

Three questions and an observation…

1 The Iranian Government is not secular. It is the product of a fanatical political ideology, disguised as a “faith. The Ayatollahs rule Iran. The president and “secular Government” carry out their wishes, and are simply figureheads.

2. Nowhere in this pending agreement is a call for the halt of Uranium Enrichment in Iran.

3. A Christian American Pastor, Saeed Abedini, has been held in jail by the Iranian Government, since the summer of 2012. Why does the Obama Administration care more about negotiating appeasement with a hostile, barbaric Foreign Government, than securing the freedom of an American Christian Pastor?

Wars have been started for less than that.

President Reagan advised to “Trust, but Verify.

Evidently, Obama’s message is to “Trust Islam…Limit American Christianity”.

Until He Comes,

Dems Stifle Freedom of Speech in the Senate. Obama Praises Them.

obamabillofrightsYesterday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, in what was either a “Look! Squirrel!” moment, designed by the Democrats to distract Americans from the Obamacare Disaster, or to ensure that activist judges would continue to do the bidding of the Progressives and their Petulant President, lead the Senate Democrats in approving a historic rules change that eliminated the use of the filibuster on all presidential nominees except those to the U.S. Supreme Court.

By using the long-threatened “nuclear option”, the Democrats have ensured that most of President Barack Hussein Obama’s judicial and executive branch nominees no longer need to clear the 60-vote threshold that was formerly required to reach the Senate floor and get an up-or-down vote.

Of course, President Obama was as happy as Star War’s Emperor Palpatine, when he was “elected” to rule the Empire and “Liberty died…to thunderous applause”

All too often, we’ve seen a single senator or a handful of senators choose to abuse arcane procedural tactics to unilaterally block bipartisan compromises, or to prevent well-qualified, patriotic Americans from filling critical positions of public service in our system of government.

Now, at a time when millions of American have desperately searched for work, repeated abuse of these tactics have blocked legislation that might create jobs. They’ve defeated actions that would help women fighting for equal pay. They’ve prevented more progress than we would have liked for striving young immigrants trying to earn their citizenship. Or it’s blocked efforts to end tax breaks for companies that are shipping jobs overseas. They’ve even been used to block common-sense and widely supported steps to protect more Americans from gun violence, even as families of victims sat in the Senate chamber and watched. And they’ve prevented far too many talented Americans from serving their country at a time when their country needs their talents the most.

The American people’s business is far too important to keep falling prey, day after day, to Washington politics.

I’m a former senator. So is my Vice President. We both value any Senate’s duty to advise and consent. It’s important, and we take that very seriously. But a few now refuse to treat that duty of advise and consent with the respect that it deserves. It’s no longer used in a responsible way to govern. It’s rather used as a reckless and relentless tool to grind all business to a halt. And that’s not what our Founders intended, and it’s certainly not what our country needs right now.

And I just want to remind everybody, what’s at stake here is not my ability to fulfill my constitutional duty. What’s at stake is the ability of any President to fulfill his or her constitutional duty. Public service is not a game. It is a privilege. And the consequences of action or inaction are very real. The American people deserve better than politicians who run for election telling them how terrible government is, and then devoting their time in elected office to trying to make government not work as often as possible.

That, boys and girls, is what we call “irony”.

Obama is right…but, not in the way he thinks.

The American people don’t deserve this. We deserve America leadership which will respect the wishes of our Founding Fathers, not attempt to interpret them for their own nefarious purposes, in order to attempt a coupe d’ tat of our judiciary system and to sabotage our System of Checks and Balances.

In the 1939 American Cinema Classic, “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington”, a naive young man, Jefferson Smith, brilliantly portrayed by the legendary Jimmy Stewart, is appointed to fill a vacancy in the US Senate. His plans promptly collide with political corruption, but he doesn’t back down.

He winds up holding a filibuster on the Senate Floor, one man, standing for what is right, against the corruption of Political Ideologues, bought and paid for by special interest groups.

Sound familiar?

Here are a couple of excerpts from that classic scene on the Floor of the Senate. They ring as true today as they did all those years ago.

You see, boys forget what their country means by just reading The Land of the Free in history books. Then they get to be men they forget even more. Liberty’s too precious a thing to be buried in books, Miss Saunders. Men should hold it up in front of them every single day of their lives and say: I’m free to think and to speak. My ancestors couldn’t, I can, and my children will. Boys ought to grow up remembering that.

…Just get up off the ground, that’s all I ask. Get up there with that lady that’s up on top of this Capitol dome, that lady that stands for liberty. Take a look at this country through her eyes if you really want to see something. And you won’t just see scenery; you’ll see the whole parade of what Man’s carved out for himself, after centuries of fighting. Fighting for something better than just jungle law, fighting so’s he can stand on his own two feet, free and decent, like he was created, no matter what his race, color, or creed. That’s what you’d see. There’s no place out there for graft, or greed, or lies, or compromise with human liberties. And, uh, if that’s what the grownups have done with this world that was given to them, then we’d better get those boys’ camps started fast and see what the kids can do. And it’s not too late, because this country is bigger than the Taylors, or you, or me, or anything else. Great principles don’t get lost once they come to light. They’re right here; you just have to see them again!

But, what power do we average Americans have? What weapon do we have to stand up to this exercise of tyranny by those who are supposed to serve us?

President Ronald Reagan answered that question on September 26, 1986 at the investiture of Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and Associate Justice Antonin Scalia at the White House…

the Founding Fathers designed a system of checks and balances, and of limited government, because they knew that the great preserver of our freedoms would never be the courts or either of the other branches alone. It would always be the totality of our constitutional system, with no one part getting the upper hand. And that’s why the judiciary must be independent. And that is why it must exercise restraint.

So, our protection is in the constitutional system, and one other place as well. Lincoln asked, “What constitutes the bulwark of our own liberty?” And he answered, “It is in the love of liberty which God has planted in us.” Yes, we the people are the ultimate defenders of freedom. We the people created the Government and gave it its powers. And our love of liberty and our spiritual strength, our dedication to the Constitution, are what, in the end, preserves our great nation and this great hope for all mankind. All of us, as Americans, are joined in a great common enterprise to write the story of freedom — the greatest adventure mankind has ever known and one we must pass on to our children and their children, remembering that freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.

The warning, more than a century ago, attributed to Daniel Webster, remains as timeless as the document he revered. “Miracles do not cluster,” he said, “Hold on to the Constitution of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands — what has happened once in 6,000 years may never happen again. Hold on to your Constitution, for if the American Constitution shall fall there will be anarchy throughout the world.”

The Great Communicator was, per usual, exactly right. We must remain strong and steadfast if we are to remain free.

Stay vigilant, Americans.

Obama and Obamacare: This Way to the Egress

ObamafraudLegendary American Showman P.T. Barnum’s American Museum was so wildly popular that people would spend the entire day there. This would cut into profits, as the museum would be too full to squeeze another person in. In classic Barnum style, old P.T. put up signs that said “This Way to the Egress.” Many customers followed the signs, not realizing that Egress was a fancy word for “Exit.” They kept on looking for this strange new attraction, the “Egress”. Many patrons followed the signs right out the door! Once they had exited the building, the door would lock behind them, and if they wanted to get back in, they had to pay another admission charge!

It was then that the people realized that they had been suckered by a master con man.

That same kind of self-realization seems to be happening nationwide, over a century later.

A new CBS Poll, released yesterday shows that only 7% of Americans want to keep the unmitigated fiasco known as Obamacare as it is.

93% of Americans either believe that changes are needed to the law (48%) or want a full repeal (43%). And, that 93% includes 72% of Democrats!

On September 10, 2009, President Barack Hussein Obama addressed a Joint Session of Congress to introduce them to his plans for a State-run Healthcare System to replace the finest Healthcare System of the face of God’s Green Earth. Here are some excerpts from that address, courtesy of CBSNews.com:

…Here are the details that every American needs to know about this plan. First, if you are among the hundreds of millions of Americans who already have health insurance through your job, or Medicare, or Medicaid, or the VA, nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have. (Applause.) Let me repeat this: Nothing in our plan requires you to change what you have.

What this plan will do is make the insurance you have work better for you. Under this plan, it will be against the law for insurance companies to deny you coverage because of a preexisting condition. (Applause.) As soon as I sign this bill, it will be against the law for insurance companies to drop your coverage when you get sick or water it down when you need it the most. (Applause.) They will no longer be able to place some arbitrary cap on the amount of coverage you can receive in a given year or in a lifetime. (Applause.) We will place a limit on how much you can be charged for out-of-pocket expenses, because in the United States of America, no one should go broke because they get sick. (Applause.) And insurance companies will be required to cover, with no extra charge, routine checkups and preventive care, like mammograms and colonoscopies — (applause) — because there’s no reason we shouldn’t be catching diseases like breast cancer and colon cancer before they get worse. That makes sense, it saves money, and it saves lives. (Applause.)

Now, that’s what Americans who have health insurance can expect from this plan — more security and more stability.

…under my plan, individuals will be required to carry basic health insurance — just as most states require you to carry auto insurance. (Applause.) Likewise — likewise, businesses will be required to either offer their workers health care, or chip in to help cover the cost of their workers. There will be a hardship waiver for those individuals who still can’t afford coverage, and 95 percent of all small businesses, because of their size and narrow profit margin, would be exempt from these requirements. (Applause.) But we can’t have large businesses and individuals who can afford coverage game the system by avoiding responsibility to themselves or their employees. Improving our health care system only works if everybody does their part.

And while there remain some significant details to be ironed out, I believe — (laughter) — I believe a broad consensus exists for the aspects of the plan I just outlined: consumer protections for those with insurance, an exchange that allows individuals and small businesses to purchase affordable coverage, and a requirement that people who can afford insurance get insurance.

And I have no doubt that these reforms would greatly benefit Americans from all walks of life, as well as the economy as a whole. Still, given all the misinformation that’s been spread over the past few months, I realize — (applause) — I realize that many Americans have grown nervous about reform. So tonight I want to address some of the key controversies that are still out there.

Some of people’s concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but by prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Now, such a charge would be laughable if it weren’t so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple. (Applause.)

There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms — the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.

AUDIENCE MEMBER [Rep. Joe Wilson]: You lie!

Now, in 2013, as Americans continue to lose their Health Insurance Plans, with an additional 50 to 100 million cancellations coming with the Employer Mandate, beginning in 2014, ol’ Joe Wilson looks to Americans to have been spot on.

More and more Americans are realizing the truth of Rep. Wilson’s exclamation, as Obama’s popularity rating plunged to 37% yesterday, in a new CBS Poll.

Apparently, Capitol Hill Democrats are among them. TheHill.com reports that

Vulnerable Democrats are scrambling to find ways to stand apart from the White House on ObamaCare as the rollout of the high-profile law continues to struggle — and threatens their reelections.

A number of red state Democrats in the House and Senate are rushing to embrace legislation to amend ObamaCare, seeking to improve parts of the law that have led to public outrage, and insulate themselves from attacks as they head into election year in 2014.

Sens. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Kay Hagan (D-N.C.), Mark Begich (D-Alaska) and Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) have all supported different changes to the law in recent days.

Reps. John Barrow (D-Ga.) and Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.), both top GOP targets who voted against ObamaCare in the first place, have joined a GOP-led bill aimed at keeping people from losing their current insurance policies. Other House Democrats haven’t ruled out voting for similar legislation.

The widespread action is a sign that Democrats facing tough races are increasingly worried about the law’s adverse effects on their reelection chances.

Can’t you just see some of the Democrat Congresscritters, huddled in a Congressional Cloakroom?

We’ve got to protect our phony-boloney jobs, gentlemen! Hrumph!

German-American Political Theorist Hannah Arendt (1906-1975) once said,

The trouble with lying and deceiving is that their efficiency depends entirely upon a clear notion of the truth that the liar and deceiver wishes to hide.

And, since Obama and his Democrat minions had no clue as to what was actually in The Affordable Care Act”, and they did not want us to either, as Nancy Pelosi, herself, once quipped,

…we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it…

Now that we have found out what is in it, Americans don’t want it.

And, now, our entire nation, including Obama and the Democrats, is paying the price for all of their inefficient lies.

Obamacare and America’s “Yutes”: The Thrill is Gone

obamacareyouthAs President Barack Hussein Obama’s Signature Legislation, the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, continues to swirl down the ol’ porcelain receptacle, the Administration has targeted America’s young people. Obamacare was designed on the presumption that young Americans will go head over heels for the new Healthcare Exchanges, and, in turn, that will finance the plan.

Guess what? That ain’t happening, according to nydailynews.com,

Fears that insurance exchanges that are the linchpin of President Barack Obama’s federal health care overhaul wouldn’t attract the young, healthy people needed to make them financially viable are being heightened by the early results of signups in several states.

If it becomes a trend, that could lead to increases in insurance premiums and deductibles next year. Along with the paltry enrollment numbers released this week, officials in a handful of states said those who had managed to sign up were generally older people with medical problems — those with the greatest incentives to get coverage.

It’s unclear whether that will persist. Young, healthy people may be more inclined to procrastinate, especially given doubts about the law’s technically flawed online signup system. They have until Dec. 15 to sign up if they want to be covered on Jan. 1.

Insurers have warned that they need a wide range of people signing up for coverage because premiums paid by adults in the younger and healthier group, between 18 and 35, are needed to offset the cost of carrying older and sicker customers who typically generate far more in medical bills than they contribute in premiums.

The first set of enrollment data revealed that 106,000 people signed up for coverage nationwide, far short of the 500,000 initial sign-ups the Obama administration had expected. In states where officials discussed more detailed information, it also became apparent that the people who flocked to the exchanges after they opened Oct. 1 were those who were desperate for coverage.

In California, the state with the largest uninsured population, most of those who applied were older people with health problems. In Kentucky, nearly 3 of 4 enrollees were over 35. In Washington state, about 23 percent of enrollees were between 18 and 34. And in Ohio, groups helping with enrollment described many of those coming to them as older residents who lost their jobs and health coverage during the recession.

However, the administration is going to do whatever they can to force young Americans to participate in Obamacare, even those young folks who are still in college, as foxnews.com reports…

For decades, universities and colleges have offered students bare-bones policies. But because of the Affordable Care Act, those policies no longer cut it – and universities are forced to decide whether to offer significantly higher-cost plans or cancel coverage altogether.

The new rules affect a broad swath of American schools, especially the small ones.

At Bowie State University in Maryland, the cost of student health insurance policies went from roughly $100 a year to $1,800 a year.

The cancelled plan offered $5,000 worth of medical coverage to students for just $54 per semester. University administrators said an acceptable replacement under the Affordable Care Act would have cost $900 per semester, a 1,500 percent increase.

Students who need individual coverage are likely to find a better deal for themselves on the Maryland Health Connection insurance exchange, University spokeswoman Cassandra Robinson said.

In the end, the school decided to drop the policy for all of its 5,500 enrollees. Students were notified of the dropped coverage on the school’s website.

“Bowie State University has suspended offering health insurance for domestic students for the 2013-2014 academic year,” according to the school’s official website. “Due to new requirements of the Affordable Care Act which will go into effect on January 1, 2014, the cost of insurance for domestic students will increase to approximately $1800 per year.”

The sticker shock didn’t sit well with some students who spoke out against the price hike.

“You’ve haven’t done anything Obama and I am disappointed in you,” one student said. Another told Campus Reform, “We don’t have that money. We can barely afford books.”

Well, gosh, that doesn’t sound like the perception the White House has of America’s young people.

In fact, one would think that being a young American is all about promiscuity and alcoholism, according to the Obamacare Ads put out by the Obama Administration.

The first ad shows a pretty young thing, all excited and showing off the birth control pills which she received through Obamacare. At her side is a swarthy looking young man, with his shirt out and sports jacket on, trying his best to look like a young John Stamos, with an anticipatory ear-to-ear grin on his face.

The other ad involves three male college students. two of them each have the leg of the third, and are holding him above a keg  while he balances himself with both hands while hollding a hose coming from the keg in his mouth.

Talk about aiming to the lowest common denominator in an advertising campaign…

Evidently, the only contact the White House has with college age and young adult Americans, has come from hanging out with the OWSers and/or watching the Jerry Springer Program.

Anyway, it certainly appears that they overestimated Obamacare’s popularity with that demographic and underestimated young Americans’ intelligence.

Or, perhaps, like the rest of us, these yutes simply don’t like being lied to.

Pelosi Denies Obamacare Disaster

pelosigavelRemember the Victory March, which Democrats took on their way  to the signing of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare?

My, how things have changed. Democrats are running away from Obama and his Signature Legislation, like rats jumping off of a sinking ship.

But, hey. The House Minority Leader says, “Nothing to see here. Move along.”

Yesterday, on NBC’s Meet The Press, David Gregory interviewed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, concerning  the disaster that is Obamacare.

DAVID GREGORY: Why aren’t you concerned at this point that this is in grave danger of not being done right?

REP. NANCY PELOSI: Well, I’m very unhappy about the website, as you can just imagine the president is. But I know the makings of the legislation, and what it does for people. And, again, look, this Republican measure on Friday, what makes matters so worse, allows the marketplace to be deprived of people who should be there getting lower prices with better benefits and perhaps even a tax credit.

So that wasn’t a fix, it was a make matters worse. But they’re running a political arena and you expect that. But you can’t be knocked for a loop just because somebody’s playing politics. If that was the case, we would have never passed it in the first place.

DAVID GREGORY: Final point: Democrats won’t lose seats next year over Obamacare?

REP. NANCY PELOSI: I don’t think you can tell what will happen next year. But I will tell you this: Democrats stand tall in support of the Affordable Care Act. We have great candidates who are running, who are concerned about our economy, and are concerned that government was shut down because of a whim on the part of the Republicans, costing us $25 billion to our economy and 0.6% of our GDP growth.

They’re concerned that overwhelmingly the American people support immigration reform, support background checks, support ending discrimination against people in the workplace; all of these kinds of things are the concerns of the American people. Jobs will be the major issue in the campaign, as they always are.

And this is an issue that has to be dealt with, but it doesn’t mean, “Oh, it’s a political issue, so we’re going to run away from it.” No, it’s too valuable for the American people. What is important about it is that the American people are well served, not who gets reelected.

On March 10, 2010, Rep. Pelosi said the following, in a speech to the 2010 Legislative Conference for National Association of Counties…

You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other. But I don’t know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket. Prevention, prevention, prevention—it’s about diet, not diabetes. It’s going to be very, very exciting.

But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.

On June 10, 2012, during a luncheon with Opinion Writers, including The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart, Rep. Pelosi tried to explain her now famous remarks,

“In the fall of the year,” Pelosi said today, “the outside groups…were saying ‘it’s about abortion,’ which it never was. ‘It’s about ‘death panels,’’ which it never was. ‘It’s about a job-killer,’ which it creates four million. ‘It’s about increasing the deficit’; well, the main reason to pass it was to decrease the deficit.” Her contention was that the Senate “didn’t have a bill.” And until the Senate produced an actual piece of legislation that could be matched up and debated against what was passed by the House, no one truly knew what would be voted on. “They were still trying to woo the Republicans,” Pelosi said of the Senate leadership and the White House, trying to “get that 60th vote that never was coming. That’s why [there was a] reconciliation [vote]” that required only a simple majority.

“So, that’s why I was saying we have to pass a bill so we can see so that we can show you what it is and what it isn’t,” Pelosi continued. “It is none of these things. It’s not going to be any of these things.” She recognized that her comment was “a good statement to take out of context.” But the minority leader added, “But the fact is, until you have a bill, you can’t really, we can’t really debunk what they’re saying….”

Despite Pelosi’s protestations, time has revealed to be true that Americans’ concerns about the Affordable Care Act, the legislation which was crafted to socialize the American Healthcare System, and which is designed to lead into a Government-run Single Payor National Healthcare System.

Norman Mattoon Thomas, six-time Socialist candidate for president, said in a 1944 speech, that,

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation without knowing how it happened … The Democratic Party has adopted our (Socialist) platform.

Later, in 1961, Future United States President Ronald Reagan said,

One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.

What give me hope, though, is the backlash to the disastrous launch of Obamacare. Those Americans, who may have been supportive of Obamacare, at first, have now seen the reality of this misbegotten piece of legislation staring them in them face. The high premiums and lost insurance policies have been a cold slap in the face to Americans, who were expecting the legislation to be something quite difference due to the lies and manipulation of Obama, his Administration, Pelosi, Reid, and all of their sycophants in Congress.

Now that reality has set in, Obama and Pelosi’s protestations ring hollow with Americans.

There are two actions which are now paramount:

1. Repeal Obamacare fully.

2. Vote anybody who voted for it, out in 2014.

Russian Spy Towers in America? This is “Smart Power”?

obama and putinIf you see an innocent-looking structure with a dome-topped tower, behind a security fence, as you are traveling through America, it won’t be a cell tower.

It will be here “From Russia With Love, courtesy of the same bureaucratic buffoons who brought us “Smart Power!”

In recent months, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Pentagon have been quietly waging a campaign to stop the State Department from allowing Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, to build about half a dozen of these structures, known as monitor stations, on United States soil, several American officials said.

They fear that these structures could help Russia spy on the United States and improve the precision of Russian weaponry, the officials said. These monitor stations, the Russians contend, would significantly improve the accuracy and reliability of Moscow’s version of the Global Positioning System, the American satellite network that steers guided missiles to their targets and thirsty smartphone users to the nearest Starbucks.

“They don’t want to be reliant on the American system and believe that their systems, like GPS, will spawn other industries and applications,” said a former senior official in the State Department’s Office of Space and Advanced Technology. “They feel as though they are losing a technological edge to us in an important market. Look at everything GPS has done on things like your phone and the movement of planes and ships.”

The Russian effort is part of a larger global race by several countries — including China and European Union nations — to perfect their own global positioning systems and challenge the dominance of the American GPS.

For the State Department, permitting Russia to build the stations would help mend the Obama administration’s relationship with the government of President Vladimir V. Putin, now at a nadir because of Moscow’s granting asylum to Mr. Snowden and its backing of President Bashar al-Assad of Syria.

But the C.I.A. and other American spy agencies, as well as the Pentagon, suspect that the monitor stations would give the Russians a foothold on American territory that would sharpen the accuracy of Moscow’s satellite-steered weapons. The stations, they believe, could also give the Russians an opening to snoop on the United States within its borders.

The squabble is serious enough that administration officials have delayed a final decision until the Russians provide more information and until the American agencies sort out their differences, State Department and White House officials said.

Russia’s efforts have also stirred concerns on Capitol Hill, where members of the intelligence and armed services committees view Moscow’s global positioning network — known as Glonass, for Global Navigation Satellite System — with deep suspicion and are demanding answers from the administration.

“I would like to understand why the United States would be interested in enabling a GPS competitor, like Russian Glonass, when the world’s reliance on GPS is a clear advantage to the United States on multiple levels,” said Representative Mike D. Rogers, Republican of Alabama, the chairman of a House Armed Services subcommittee.

Mr. Rogers last week asked the Pentagon to provide an assessment of the proposal’s impact on national security. The request was made in a letter sent to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, Secretary of State John Kerry and the director of national intelligence, James R. Clapper Jr.

The monitor stations have been a high priority of Mr. Putin for several years as a means to improve Glonass not only to benefit the Russian military and civilian sectors but also to compete globally with GPS.

The kicker is, of course, we have no satellite towers located within Russia.

President Ronald Reagan, gave a speech, concerning our relationship with Russia, on March 8 1983, which has since come to be called “The Evil Empire Speech”. His words ring as true today, as they ever have.

During my first press conference as President, in answer to a direct question, I pointed out that, as good Marxist-Leninists, the Soviet leaders have openly and publicly declared that the only morality they recognize is that which will further their cause, which is world revolution. I think I should point out I was only quoting Lenin, their guiding spirit, who said in 1920 that they repudiate all morality that proceeds from supernatural ideas—that’s their name for religion—or ideas that are outside class conceptions. Morality is entirely subordinate to the interests of class war. And everything is moral that is necessary for the annihilation of the old, exploiting social order and for uniting the proletariat.

Well, I think the refusal of many influential people to accept this elementary fact of Soviet doctrine illustrates an historical reluctance to see totalitarian powers for what they are. We saw this phenomenon in the 1930s. We see it too often today.

This doesn’t mean we should isolate ourselves and refuse to seek an understanding with them. I intend to do everything I can to persuade them of our peaceful intent, to remind them that it was the West that refused to use its nuclear monopoly in the forties and fifties for territorial gain and which now proposes 50-percent cut in strategic ballistic missiles and the elimination of an entire class of land-based, intermediate-range nuclear missiles.

At the same time, however, they must be made to understand we will never compromise our principles and standards. We will never give away our freedom.

…It was C.S. Lewis who, in his unforgettable “Screwtape Letters,” wrote: “The greatest evil is not done now in those sordid ‘dens of crime’ that Dickens loved to paint. It is not even done in concentration camps and labor camps. In those we see its final result. But it is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried and minuted) in clear, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice.”

Well, because these “quiet men” do not “raise their voices,” because they sometimes speak in soothing tones of brotherhood and peace, because, like other dictators before them, they’re always making “their final territorial demand,” some would have us accept them at their word and accommodate ourselves to their aggressive impulses. But if history teaches anything, it teaches that simple-minded appeasement or wishful thinking about our adversaries is folly. It means the betrayal of our past, the squandering of our freedom.

So, I urge you to speak out against those who would place the United States in a position of military and moral inferiority.

While America’s military strength is important, let me add here that I’ve always maintained that the struggle now going on for the world will never be decided by bombs or rockets, by armies or military might. The real crisis we face today is a spiritual one; at root, it is a test of moral will and faith.

…Whittaker Chambers, the man whose own religious conversion made him a witness to one of the terrible traumas of our time, the Hiss-Chambers case, wrote that the crisis of the Western World exists to the degree in which the West is indifferent to God, the degree to which it collaborates in communism’s attempt to make man stand alone without God. And then he said, for Marxism-Leninism is actually the second oldest faith, first proclaimed in the Garden of Eden with the words of temptation, “Ye shall be as gods.”

The Western World can answer this challenge, he wrote, “but only provided that its faith in God and the freedom He enjoins is as great as communism’s faith in Man.”

President Reagan knew that, one day, the struggle against Marxist Ideology would not just be waged externally, against foreign enemies, but internally, against domestic ones, as well…bureaucrats who would give away our very sovereignty for perceived political expediency. As we have seen in the ongoing Middle East Islamic Fundamentalist Revolution, known as Arab Spring, and, more recently, President Obama and Sec. Kerry’s bungling of Syria and Iran, our enemies, like Vladimir Putin, love this present administration, who are more than willing to “negotiate” with their new-found “friends”.

And, much like the small town fellow, who gets conned into a three-card monte game on the sidewalks of New York, the deck is stacked against us.

Obama and Obamacare: Obama Tries to Close Pandora’s Box

obamababyYesterday morning, the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama, appeared before the American People in a hastily-called Press Conference, is a desperate attempt to undo the disastrous effects of his Signature Legislation, the Affordable Care Act.

Here are excerpts from his prepared statement, courtesy whitehouse.gov:

Already, people who have plans that predate the Affordable Care Act can keep those plans if they haven’t changed. That was already in the law. That’s what’s called a grandfather clause. It was included in the law. Today, we’re going to extend that principle both to people whose plans have changed since the law took effect, and to people who bought plans since the law took effect.

“The bottom line, President Obama said, is that “insurers can extend current plans that would otherwise be canceled into 2014, and Americans whose plans have been canceled can choose to re-enroll in the same kind of plan.”

“So we’re going to do everything we can to help the Americans who’ve received these cancellation notices,” President Obama said. “But there are also 40 million Americans who don’t have health insurance. And I am not going to walk away from 40 million people who have the chance to get health insurance for the first time.”

It took 100 years for us to even get to the point where we could start talking about and implementing a law to make sure everybody has got health insurance. And my pledge to the American people is, is that we’re going to solve the problems that are there, we’re going to get it right, and the Affordable Care Act is going to work for the American people.

Shortly after this Dog & Pony Show was over, the reality of Obama’s promises started to be questioned.

TheBlaze.com is among a lot of others who immediately asked the question…

Does Obama Have Legal Authority to Alter Obamacare, Laws Passed by Congress?

President Barack Obama pauses while speaking about his signature health care law, Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, in the Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House in Washington. Bowing to pressure, President Barack Obama intends to permit continued sale of individual insurance plans that have been canceled because they failed to meet coverage standards under the health care law, officials said Thursday. (AP/Charles Dharapak)

“The short answer is no,” David Corbin, a professor of politics at King’s College in New York, told TheBlaze.

“However, the way he’s been operating on this bill is that he can make alterations as he goes along,” Corbin said. “And so far, he’s been allowed to get away with it.”

“All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States…”

Share:

Historically, the executive branch has not been allowed to alter laws passed by Congress, he said, adding that there is a constitutional argument to be made.

Corbin cited section one, article one of the U.S. Constitution: “‘All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.’”

“The president certainly has some regulatory and prosecutorial discretion in how he executes the law, but he has no legislative power,” Corbin said. “If his actions in this case (waiver, extensions, etc.) amount to him becoming a lawmaker rather than a law executor, they are unconstitutional.”

Though the Constitution is clear that “all legislative powers” belong to Congress, Corbin said it sometimes comes down to how those in power choose to “interpret” the law.

“I’m not sure he will be able to get away with it in this case because I think people are going to understand that if you are going to remove the law of any legal standing by having the enforcement mechanisms or the penalties stripped out, then what is the law?” the professor added.

Appearing on MSNBC on Thursday, former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean reportedly questioned if Obama really has the “legal authority to do this” when discussing the proposed change to the law, Fox News’ Bret Baier tweeted.

During a briefing before the presidential press conference, officials reportedly told members of the press that the White House does have the authority to delay enforcement for a year.

“HHS will be using its enforcement discretion to allow for this transition,” the official said, according to the Washington Times. “Enforcement discretion can be used generally in transitions, as well as a bridge towards legislation. This is something that has been used, for example, with the deferred action for childhood arrivals policy, pending immigration reform.”

Here’s Obama’s other problem: What if the State Insurance Commissioners refuse to co-operate?

Like Washington’s State Insurance Commissioner, Mike Kreidler, for example?

Within two hours of President Obama’s news conference announcing the proposed administrative fix for Americans upset by their policy cancellations, Kreidler issued a statement rejecting the proposal.

“I understand that many people are upset by the notices they have recently received from their health plans and they may not need the new benefits [in the Affordable Care Act] today,” he said. “But I have serious concerns about how President Obama’s proposal would be implemented and more significantly, its potential impact on the overall stability of our health insurance market.”

“I do not believe his proposal is a good deal for the state of Washington,” Kreidler’s statement continued. “We will not be allowing insurance companies to extend their policies.”

Kreidler said his office estimated that 290,000 people in Washington will need to buy new coverage for 2014 and that at least half of them will qualify for a premium subsidy if they purchase a plan through the state’s online insurance exchange, Washington Healthplanfinder.

“I encourage anyone who is shopping for new health plans — whether you’ve been uninsured or have received a cancellation notice from your insurer — to look at all of your options,” he said.

I was reading accounts of Obama’s Press Conference at work yesterday. What they revealed was a flailing swimmer who should have stayed in the Kiddie Pool…a discombobulated President, rambling in such a desperate fashion, that it appeared that he was looking for something…anything…to save his Signature Legislature and the hopes of the Democratic Party in both 2014 and 2016.

The problem for Obama and the Dems is: they own this fiasco. Not a single Republican voted for Obamacare in the middle of that dark night.

Hopefully, the Vichy Republicans will not pull defeat from the jaws of victory by proposing their own version of Obamacare, as Senator Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, alluded to yesterday.

If your opponent is digging himself into a hole…stand back and let him finish.

Until He Comes,
