Sunday Morning Thoughts: The Guadelupe River Flood

This morning, as I was sitting down to try to write my opinion on some political subject, I started watching Fox and Friends about the horrible disaster in Central Texas that has taken over 50 lives of men, women, and children, including girls attending   Christian Camp Mystic.

Young girls with their whole life ahead of them drowned as the area received over 20 in of rain and the dam on the Guadalupe River In Hunt, TX busted wide open.

At the same time, I received word yesterday of a co-worker who had passed away within a week after finding out that he had cancer  that had metastasized.

As you get older, you start thinking more and more about how finite our lives here on Earth are.

You lose friends and family and even though you are not supposed to, you wonder what God’s plan is for your life and for those of the other fragile humans whom you care about and you grieve for those whom you have lost along the way.

As a Christian, while we as Christians go through this life “Saved by Grace” and “Standing on the Promises of God”, we can not help but think and wonder when, as the black Union soldiers in the Civil War drama “Glory” were getting ready for their final battle spoke and sang about, when that “Great Getting Up Morning” will be,

The “Good News”, as the great old hymns tell us, is that we can find comfort knowing that we have the “Blessed Assurance” that “His Eye is On the Sparrow”

“…and I know He watches me.”

God bless all the First Responders and those who are leading the search for possible survivors.

May God comfort all the families and friends of those whose lives were touched by the victims of this catastrophe and those who have lost everything.

I pray that more survivors are found.

Are Americans Turning Back to God? If so, why?

I was watching Fox and Friends this morning when a Catholic priest said that the turning away from God that has been happening in America has slowed down now, and people seem to be turning toward him.

In the past couple of decades, Christian Americans have watched as our people have turned away from God.

Although there was still a silent majority who believed in God, the vocal minority stepped forward and start proclaiming that wrong was right, morality was unnecessary, ethics were situational, and Satan wasn’t such a bad guy after all.

Sexual perversion and Satan worship became accepted as Hollywood trends and fashion statements. And, the traditional roles of men and women and the raising and building of a family and their effect on society have become viewed as passe when in fact they have always been the backbone of America.

So, why are people starting to turn toward the One who created them?

As one of my brothers in Christ reminds me all the time, it’s not politicians who are going to get us out of all of this.

It is God.

Politicians come and go.

Total power corrupts totally, as we have seen in recent days.

American have been struggling in their day-to-day lives for quite a while now trying to make ends meet.

Who do you think they turn to in these situations?

Family can help sometimes, but a lot of times nowadays, they are in the same situation that those seeking help are in.

Politicians come and go, but God is eternal.

When we take the step of repentance of our sins and start relying on God, he listens to our prayers and gets us through.

As we try to turn the corner in our country and make America great again, as President Trump showed in having a prayer before his cabinet meeting, faith in God is the Cornerstone of our progress.

Sunday Morning Thoughts: Trump and the Grace of God

“As I said earlier this week, I stand before you only by the grace of Almighty God. That’s true. I shouldn’t be here.” – Former President/Republican Presidential Candidate Donald J Trump, Grand Rapids, MI Rally, 7/20/24

He is absolutely right. He shouldn’t.

Last Saturday night, a bullet fired from an AR-15 struck the top of Trump’s right ear, nearly missing entering his brain by a quarter of an inch per Congressional Representative and former White House Doctor Ronny Jackson.

Have you ever experienced God’s grace?

It’s something indescribable and something unexpected.

For those who believe, it is the realization that God cares and is watching over us.

Non-believers usually brush it off as pure dumb luck or a happy coincidence.

What happened to former President Trump can only be explained by the grace of God.

It has been interesting to watch the news people and pundits at MSNBC and CNN try to explain what happened last Saturday night by claiming that it was shards of glass instead of an assassin’s bullet, and brushing off Trump’s near death experience as nothing of the sort, simply a minor injury.

What happened can not be scientifically explained, not even if you make the science up like Fauci and the rest of the Democrat “experts” did with the regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you carry the presumption that this was an act of God’s grace, then that means that God has a plan for President Donald J Trump, just as he does with all of us.

I can hear the political experts on social media screaming now about how God could use Donald J Trump with all his faults and brash behavior?

Even though they will tell you that they have, it is quite evident that those who railed against Donald J Trump and the idea of God using him have never read the bible.

Throughout God’s Word, there are instances of him using imperfect men to fulfill his perfect plans.

King David is an example that easily comes to mind. However, he was not the only one.

The thing is, the God of Abraham has used imperfect men throughout history.

He has used them in the history of our own country.

America was founded by imperfect men and women who valued religious freedom and the rights of the individual, including the right to worship Our Creator as they saw fit.

Former President Donald J Trump and his Vice-President pick, J.D. Vance, are not perfect.

There was only one Perfect Man, and He gave His life as “the expiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world”. (1 John 2:2)

I have a good friend who keeps reminding me that politicians are not the ones who will save America. God is in control.

I believe that this past week has been a reminder to those who are willing to pay attention.

Sunday Morning Thoughts: A Matter of Character

Is it just me, or have those who used to be the “Moderate” Democratic Party traveled as far to the left on the Political Spectrum as they can go?

Growing up, there used to not be much difference between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party.

Now, it’s like night and day.

Let’s face it.

The Democratic Party has devolved into a bunch of Marxists wanting our Constitutional Republic to turn into a cradle to grave totalitarian government, managing our entire lives for us and taking away our individual freedom for the good of the State.

The “resident” in the White House who was installed like a toilet calls those of us who believe in traditional American Faith and Values  “Nationalists”.

That’s funny…

All my life, I’ve thought of myself and the majority of the people I graduated high school with as average Americans.

High school friends of mine served in the military, others became doctors, lawyers, and tradesmen and women and have contributed a great deal to society.

The majority of them have always put their family and their faith first along with their country.

Nowadays, the ruling party has done a 180 claiming that traditional American Faith and Values are something that average Americans don’t want any part of.

They celebrate the ability to kill babies at any part of the pregnancy. They celebrate what we used to refer to as sexual perversion. And, they celebrate hiring people who aren’t qualified for jobs simply because of the color of their skin.

I remember a very famous man who unfortunately met his end in my hometown of Memphis Tennessee, who said that he wanted to be judged by the content of his character and not the color of his skin. And that was something that the majority of the people whom the present generation call “Boomers” believed in as well.

If, after this upcoming election in November of 2024, we find ourselves with a new president, hopefully we can begin to turn things around to where Americans value each other for their character and their abilities instead of being a check-off in a box on a form.

Also, I hope that we all remember to show gratitude to the One who gave us this country and, as was written by our Founding Fathers, gave us our rights.

Our rights do not come from a central government. They come from God.

However, as I mentioned earlier, we have people in power who want to be god. And when that happens to a country, that country comes to a dismal end…because man will always come up short when he tries to be god.

One last thing, I thank God for the men and women whom we remember this weekend who made the ultimate sacrifice for us to be free. May God bless their memories, and may He hold those whom they left behind in the hollow of His hand.

Harrison Butker’s Commencement Speech Sparks Controversy Because He’s Right

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-7

By now, you all probably know that Harrison Butker of the Kansas City Chiefs gave a commencement speech to Benedictine College Graduates.

In his speech, he talked about traditional American values along with things such as morality, ethics, and the Biblical and traditional roles of men and women, and their importance to American society.

And, Far Left Democrats lost their minds.

Why?

It was the way that my generation was raised. You know, the generation that the younger generation is derisively calling “Boomers”.

There’s a reason that those on the Left of the Political Spectrum are reacting so negatively to the speech made by Harrison Butker.

It was against everything that they base their current political ideology on.

Things which they have tried so hard to label as divisive, misogynistic, old-fashioned, and culturally “ignorant.”

Butker bravely spoke out about a lot of things that those young graduates needed to hear.

Things that are more important than culturally-driven platitudes and politically-inspired notions of right and wrong.

He spoke of the things that really matter.

Things which involve honor, courage, and most importantly, reverence toward the One Who Made Us.

America was founded by men and women of faith who left their home countries so that they could worship freely without restrictions and without the government coming down on them with an iron fist.

As we have been witnessing in the last few decades, America has been moving away from our initial beliefs as a country.

That is why we are beginning to circle down the old porcelain receptacle.

We have allowed weak men of questionable morals and situational ethics to dictate to us how we should live our lives instead of listening to the God of Abraham.

Butker caught a lot of heat because he spoke about the importance of women in the home.

And, he spoke out against the killing of the unborn in the womb.

Of course, the Far Left did not like that at all.

Nowhere in the speech did he say that women shouldn’t work. He just said, and rightly so, if they are a wife and a mother, after God, their next priority should be their family.

That goes for husbands as well. A house is a building. A family built upon the Solid Rock  makes it a home.

America began to erode when the government decided that it could do a better job of raising children than the Traditional Family Unit could.

In order for America to prosper, traditional families should be championed, not torn asunder.

God meant for men and women to work together and lead children in the way in which they should go.

Without that foundation, it is very hard for young people to strive toward individual achievement.

Harrison Butker should be commended and appreciated for speaking the truth to the graduates of Benedictine College.

I believe that most Americans appreciate what Harrison Butker did. From what is being reported, his football jerseys are selling through the roof to both men and women.

It will be interesting to watch and see if this will signal the beginning of a cultural movement back toward Traditional American Faith and Values, which I believe that the silent majority of Americans still hold dear.

All that I am sure of is that God is in control.

Giving Thanks to God Left Out of Biden’s Thanksgiving Proclamation

Like U.S. President’s before him, Joe Biden issued a Thanksgiving Proclamation this past week.

And, like his mentor, former President Barack Hussein Obama, he purposefully left off any mention of The One Whom we should be giving thanks to.

John M. Grondelski, writing for CatholicWorldReport.com, asks a very pertinent question and makes a keen observation.

“Why does the President’s political party adhere to an “inclusivity” that undemocratically wants Americans to divest themselves of their religious identity and heritage, as the price for admission to the public square (or at least the “right” Georgetown salons)? That this question needs to be asked of the second Catholic in the White House is concerning. That more Catholics are not asking it out loud is even more so.”

Of course, I have my own thoughts about Biden’s purposeful omission…

For what now seems like an eternity, those on the Far Left Democrat side of the Political Aisle have focused their attention on “radically changing” America.

They soon realized that they simply could not do it through popular culture and educational indoctrination, inundating America’s children with both overt and subliminal imaging designed to countermand the Traditional American Values that they were being raised with, in normal American Households, out here in “Flyover Country”, otherwise known as America’s Heartland…or “the Red States”.

Far Left Democrats soon figured out that the way to program Americans into believing that “all paths lead to God” and that cradle-to-grave Nanny-State Government were the new American Standards for living our daily lives, was to turn Christian American Houses of Worship away from being instructors of the Word of God and a sanctuary in which to worship Our Creator, to, instead, being purveyors of the joys of Popular Culture. Wednesday Night Bible Studies were soon replaced by Yoga Classes and Encounter Groups. Religious Leaders were soon quoting philosophy, instead of the Bible in their Sunday Morning Sermons.

And, instead of taking a stand against those things of the world which were directly opposed to what is found in God’s Word, these “new, enlightened” churches started standing up for the “right” of a woman to have her baby prematurely yanked out of her womb with a set of tongs, standing up for the right of Adam to “marry” Steve, when the Bible states that marriage is between a man and a woman, and standing up for the equality of all faiths, when the Son of God firmly states, in John 14:6, that
I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

America remains a nation whose population consists of a majority who proclaim Jesus Christ as their Personal Savior and who believe in God.

However, church attendance is way down.

Being filled with human beings, churches have made a lot of mistakes, However, they have also done a lot of good in the name of the Lord.

Churches today have to walk a fine line.

The spiritual battle, the influence of American Popular Culture and those seeking the Will of God in their lives, takes all the strength…and prayer that Christians can muster.

Far Left Democrats seem to have great difficulty comprehending the role that Our Creator, the God of Abraham, played and plays in this Grand Experiment, known as the United States of America.

Why have Democrats ratcheted up their anti-Christian vitriol and negativity since January 21, 2009?

Why are they so focused on removing America’s Christian Heritage?

Well, as is usually my wont, I have been doing some “reckoning” about this.

It seems to this ol’ Southern Boy, living here in the Heartland, that America’s Christian Heritage and the very real fact of His influence in building and shaping America’s growth into the greatest country on the face of God’s Green Earth, not only stifles and interferes with Modern Liberals’ “anything goes”, “share the wealth”, “hive-mind”, “man is his own god” Political Ideology, but the reality of God’s very existence, somewhere deep in their miserable, bitter psyches, scares the mess out of them.

Why else would they be trying so hard to fight against the influence of Someone Whom they really don’t believe in?

I see them every single day on the television, on the Internet, on Facebook Political Pages, posting stupid meme (a picture with words on it) after stupid meme, attempting to make fun of The Great I Am and those of us who have given our lives to Him.

They are so hateful and filled with such bitterness that it is difficult to engage them in “conversation”.

Perhaps, somewhere in their back of their minds, all of these Far Left Democrats realize that they are fighting a losing battle.

Christianity continues to thrive in America despite their best efforts.

For, as Justice Scalia stated so eloquently,
“God has been very good to us.”

America was built upon a Solid Rock.

To ignore our nation’s faith-based foundation and heritage is to live in purposeful ignorance.

As President Ronald Reagan said,
“If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

And, as Hebrews 13:8 tells us,
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Regardless of the political machinations of Far LeftDemocrats, God will have the final word as to our country’s future.

He always does.

Sunday Morning Thoughts: There is a Revival in The Land!

Asbury Revival

Nick Hall is the visionary of the Together movement, author of Reset, and the founder of PULSE, a ministry at the center of the largest millennial-led prayer and outreach efforts in the world. Nick has shared the Gospel with nearly 4 million students. He is the president and CEO of The Table Coalition and sits on the board of the National Association of Evangelicals.

The following quote is an excerpt from an Opinion Piece he posted at FoxNews.com.

I received this text message from a friend who has heard me use the term “revival.” I don’t use the term lightly, but what God seems to be doing is unprecedented.

We saw over 2,000 students repent of sin and turn to Jesus last week through events at the University of Georgia, Minnesota, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Iowa State, and North Dakota State.

I’ve been doing evangelism for 20 years. I was trained by and traveled with both Billy Graham and Luis Palau. These are the highest percentage of responses to the healing, redeeming message of Jesus that I’ve ever seen. Could this be a revival?

It’s easy to be skeptical. We live in an age of hype and celebrity faith leaders. Many will question and criticize, but it always takes faith to believe instead of doubt.

What if God is moving on these campuses and at Asbury University?

I got home to Minnesota exhausted last weekend but incredibly stirred to travel to Kentucky. I’m a husband and father of three and leaving my family again over my few off days is not ideal. My bride looked me in the eyes and said, “You have to go.”

In 1970, a revival broke out in the same place – Asbury University, in the Hughes Auditorium. It began from the chapel and students kept worshipping, praying, and repenting for 144 hours.

I first read about the Asbury 1970 revival when I was 18 years old and a freshman in college, I preached and prayed for it to happen again for 22 years!

Without a revival, we stay in our sin. It’s God’s method of revealing Himself, and it’s been a God-ordained vehicle used throughout the history of the Church.

“The revival is still happening! Four days and counting!” The text messages kept coming. I began my pilgrimage to Wilmore, Kentucky on Monday. Could this be real? What I found shocked me.

In an age of sensationalized encounters, what’s happening at the Hughes Auditorium is incredibly simple, humble, and ordinary.

There isn’t a single ‘known’ figure on the platform. It’s students leading the way alongside a few campus ministers. It’s raw worship, Bible reading and exhortation, and repentance.

Confession broke out numerous times, the crowd would listen and speak out, “The blood of Jesus forgives me.” The altars were full night and day, wet with tears, from young and old. It was multi-ethnic, multi-racial, and multi-generational.

The crowds kept flooding. I didn’t want to leave but felt a burning that we need this back home, every home!

Upwards of 5,000 people flooded Wilmore. There were traffic jams and hungry souls filling four venues and the front lawn.

I talked with Max, the gas station attendant. He grew up Sikh in Asia but said he is overwhelmed by God’s love hitting his community.

“Do you think I can go?” I told him that he needed to go.

I met a teenager named Michael, carrying his skateboard, telling me that while he isn’t a Christian, the meetings at Asbury are “cool” and he said, “I can feel the love of God.” He said he’s closer to trusting Jesus but is counting the cost.

I met others impacted from Hawaii, Boston, and California.

From across the nation, people are flocking to encounter Jesus. Earlier this week I received a report that up to 20 other college campuses have started meetings. New doors are opening!

The thing about the Asbury Revival is that it happened without a huge robotic lighting system and paid professional singers.

It didn’t happen in a Megachurch or a church where the cross and altar have been replaced by colored lights and a stage.

The Holy Spirit moved in a humble college chapel and the resulting Revival is spreading like wildfire across our Sovereign Nation.

But, why?

And, why college “kids”?

For the past couple of decades, churches have been trying to figure out how to attract more young people to their services because, quite frankly, the older Americans who pay the bills and tend to be the backbone of the congregation, have been dying off.

However, in their zeal to attract a younger crowd, they have alienated older Christians by replacing familiar older hymns and corporate worship with professional “Worship Leaders” singing songs meant for Contemporary Christian Radio, not the vocal range of average Americans.
A lot of churches have become “Woke”, embracing popular culture instead of preaching and teaching God’s Word from the Older and New Testaments in the Holy Bible.

This has resulted in a generation hungry for the love of the Triune God, thirsting for the joy and unconditional love which only repentance of sins and the Amazing Grace of Salvation can bring.

Both young and older Americans are coming to these Revivals, “weary and heavy-laden” from their personal burrens, seeking the relief that accepting Jesus Christ as their Personal Savior can bring.

Now, I am certain that I will catch grief from the “Woke” Liberals who may read this post.

That’s fine.

My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, died for me.

Writing about what is happening in His Name is the least that I can do.

There’s a Revival happening in America!

God is ALWAYS on time.

From The Innkeeper’s Point of View

Luke 2: 1-7 (ASV):
1 Now it came to pass in those days, there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be enrolled.
2 This was the first enrolment made when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
3 And all went to enrol themselves, every one to his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David;
5 to enrol himself with Mary, who was betrothed to him, being great with child.
6 And it came to pass, while they were there, the days were fulfilled that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son; and she wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

I remember it like it was yesterday. Caesar Augustus had come up with the bright idea that a census should be taken of the whole Roman Empire, in order to more effectively tax the stew out of all of us.

It especially hurt small businessmen like me. You see, I’m nothing but a lowly innkeeper, barely keeping my head above water, working 16 hour days. Oy! I could continue to gripe, but who would listen?

Anyway, like I said, Caesar decreed that everyone should get themselves registered for the Census. In terms of business, that actually turned out to be a good thing.

I was about to lock up for the night, when a young man and woman came to the door.

He was a strong,rugged-looking young man. I think he was a carpenter. She was a beautiful, pregnant little thing. Bless her heart, she looked like she would deliver at any moment. Their names were Joseph and Mary.

My inn was packed, for once, and I had no rooms available. But, some part of my heart told me that I just couldn’t send them away, so I offered them my stable, which would at least offer some protection from the elements.

What happened that night was wondrous.

Men are still talking about it to this day. A precious little baby boy was born that night and the most miraculous things happened. People said that animals actually spoke!

And, the local shepherds said that angels came to them and told them about this baby.

They sang His praises and told the shepherds that they needed to come to my stable to see and worship that little baby.

Three wise men, sent by Herod, showed up later, bearing gifts for that special infant.

They were overcome by that little one and decided that they would not report back to Herod, but, instead, would return to their homes.

It was quite a remarkable time. As the years went by, I heard stories about that child.

They named Him Jesus. He grew in knowledge and stature. At 12, his parents lost Him. They found Him in the synagogue, teaching the old men that should have been teaching Him! Can you imagine?

He grew up working beside His father in his carpentry business and when He was 30, I heard that He was baptized by that wild man, John The Baptist.

According to witnesses, the heavens parted, and they heard the voice of God saying:

This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.

For three years, He traveled with a group of twelve disciples, performing miracles, preaching and teaching about God’s love and His plan for mankind.

And, now I’ve heard that just yesterday, they nailed Him to a cross, executing Him as they would a common criminal.

So sad. But, you know, there is a still, small voice inside of me that’s telling me that His story is not over, yet.

I truly hope that you enjoyed this post today. I originally wrote the preceding story 12 years ago today in honor of this special night.

Tonight, we celebrate the birth of Our Savior Jesus Christ. In closing, I want to share two videos with you. The first is a video entitled, “That’s my King!”, as read by Dr. S.M. Lockridge. The second video is a song that I’ve had the privilege of singing in choirs many times, “The Hallelujah Chorus”, which has become a favorite of Believers everywhere.

Merry Christmas to you and yours! And may God bless us, everyone!

Polls Show Only 20% Watching Jan 6th Hearings and 21% Don’t Believe in God…Hmm

“Without God, there is no virtue because there is no prompting of the conscience… without God, there is a coarsening of the society; without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure.” – President Ronald Reagan

A poll which was presented on FoxNews. com, shows that around 20% of Americans no longer believe that there is a God.

Another poll taken this past week has shown that only 20% of Americans are following the dog and pony show concerning the “insurrection” which took place on Capitol Hill on 1/6/21 being put on by the Democrats in the House of Representatives, who are trying to keep Donald Trump from ever getting elected President again.

The possibility that these 2 polls may have something to do with each other piqued my interest.

If you spend any time at all on social media, like you are doing right now, you have noticed that Far Left Democrats rant and rave about a “sky god” all the time.

They try to get a rise out of us Christian Americans because they believe that we are inferior to them both an intellectual and tolerance.

In their minds, immorality and unethical behavior are acceptable because in their Marxist minds, Traditional American Faith and Values are “stifling”.

In reality, their own arrogance makes them easier to lie to like the Democrats are doing in the January 6th Hearings.

On the other hand, Christians are often given the Gift of Discernment, one of the Fruits of the Spirit which are given to us when we accept Him as our Savior.

The overwhelming majority, as evidenced by one of those two polls I mentioned earlier, show that Americans still believe in God. And, the undeniable fact is that they are mostly Christians.

The problem for Democrats, as I see it, is the fact that they have wholeheartedly embraced a morally-bankrupt fascist political theory that has failed everywhere it has been tried.

Their political strategies and policies have failed ever since Biden took office.

And now, Americans are not buying their lies and instead of trying to correct themselves and take care of the American people, they are looking out for their own interests and doubling down on the lies which have them facing a Political Tsunami this November.

In conclusion, Far Left Democrats believe the teachings of a German Philosopher, who died in 1883.

The majority of Americans believe the teachings of a Risen Savior, like the Founders of our country did.

‘Nuff said.

Millennials and the “Woke” Church: 43% of Millennials Don’t Believe in God, Why It Is Time to Bring “Sacredness” and “Reverence” Back Into Worship

bible-american-flag1

And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. Matthew 24: 10-13

Back in May of this year, Christianpost.com reported that

As more and more people publicly walk away from the Christian faith, pastors must urge their congregations to have deep, personal encounters with God and bring “sacredness” and “reverence” back into worship, according to pastor and author Francis Chan.

“I am seeing so many people, friends of mine who were in ministry, who are just saying they don’t believe, or they’re walking away; ‘I don’t know if I believe that anymore,’” Chan said during Exponential’s Reset Summit this week. “And I just think that’s crazy. We’re seeing people that we look up to, leaders fall. We’re seeing the world look at evangelical Christianity as an absolute joke right now … it’s every day you can just jump on Instagram … and someone is saying, ‘I’m not a Christian anymore.’”

The “Until Unity” author lamented that there’s a “lot of Isaiah 29:13” going on in churches and denominations across the country today. The verse reads, “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.”

“In other words, it wasn’t an encounter [with God],” he said, explaining that true, lasting faith doesn’t come from simply hearing a message, but spending intentional, one-on-one time with God.

“Don’t get away from your own encounter with God,” he said. “We have to make sure we get people to encounter Him, and that their fear of God is not just a commandment that was taught to them by us.”

“This is a new season. And all of this, people walking away and fighting and angry about everything and so opinionated, is because they’ve spent too much time in our presence, and in our evangelical talk, talk, talk, talk presence and not enough time before a Holy God and sacred and reverent, silence and awe and just recognizing their oneness with Him.”

To have more unified horizontal relationships in the church, there must be a deeper, vertical relationship with the Father, Chan stressed.

“The world is going to get worse; persecution is going to get worse. And when they’re alone with Him, is there enough of this awe and enjoyment of Him, and a fear of Him that they can survive anything?” he asked.

“I think this pandemic showed us that there’s just way too much of this horizontal going on. And now we’re trying to keep these people with us, and it’s more like we have to direct people to Him. We have to do a better job of bringing sacredness back into our worship.”.

A recent study found that 43% of millennials stated they either don’t know, don’t care or don’t believe God exists, and 16% of millennials believe that when they die, they will go to Heaven only because they confessed their sins and accepted Jesus as their savior. Yet, 57% of millennials still call themselves Christian.

In an interview with The Christian Post, Michael Youssef, pastor of the 3,000-member Church of The Apostles in Atlanta, Georgia, warned that more and more pastors are “falling into the trap” of woke culture because it’s “popular and appeals to the flesh.”

“Bowing to woke culture allows you to avoid rejection by culture and society,” he said. “It’s a very, very popular message that is now being preached from many evangelical pulpits; traditionally Bible-believing, Gospel-preaching churches. We have gone so far that it just grieves me to the point that I literally sometimes just weep tears.”

“I’ve always believed, as goes the pulpit, so goes the pew. As goes the pew, so goes the culture,” he continued. “As a pastor, I put the full blame on us, right in our laps, because we want to be liked, loved, and followed on social media by millions of people. Pastors are the culprits. We need to be about Jesus, not about being liked, because that is deadly as far as the Gospel of Jesus Christ is concerned.”

Youssef urged those who love Jesus to be “encouraged and motivated to stand up and not to be afraid,” and compel those “teetering” to find the strength and courage to stand for the truth of the Gospel.

“We must take charge,” he said. “Christians have abandoned so many areas of society, from media and the classroom. Instead of withdrawing, we need to go and invade these areas and take them for Christ and not be afraid. We are on the right side. We have read the last chapter, and it says we will win.”

A Christian “Church” who believes that the Bible is NOT the Word of God is not a CHRISTIAN Church,

It can call itself a Social Justice Center.

It can call itself a Tabernacle of Wokeness.

However, if you devalue the Bible, the Holy Scriptures which are a “two-edged sword” and the key to learning about the foundation of the Christian Faith, then you are studying modern culture and not the history of the Hebrew people and the House of David, from whose lineage came Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.

The rise of “Wokeness” within Christian Churches is something that is literally tearing apart the fabric of our country.

The only conclusion that I, as a Christian American can reach, is the fact that our Sovereign Nation is in the midst of SPIRITUAL WARFARE for its very soul.

Make no mistake about it, boys and girls, EVIL EXISTS.

My friends, I believe that we are fighting a war against “princes and principalities”. Evil is still alive and well and flourishing in a world in which relative morality and situational ethics are increasingly being accepted as normal behavior.

We see it everyday around us.

It inundates the cable news channels, 24 hours a day. Heck, you can even see it on Facebook.

Since Cain slew Able with a rock, mankind, because we are all fallen creatures, has had to deal with the presence of evil in our lives.

From the legendary massacres, perpetrated by Vlad the Impaler, to the horrific scenes of Hitler’s Concentration Camps, to the killing fields of Pol Pot, to the massacre of innocent Middle Eastern Christians by Islamic State, to the murders by Chicago Street Gangs every night, the Forces of Evil continue to flourish across the globe.

Who we as a nation are struggling with are those forces who want to turn our country into not just an immoral society, but, an amoral one, whose concept of right and wrong is “Whatever Gets You Through the Night (It’s Alright. It’s Alright.)”, and whose ultimate authority is not the God of Abraham, but a Godless All-Powerful Central Government, whose credo is

From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs. (Karl Marx)

Just as Marxism has failed wherever it has been tried before, if the Far Left Democrats have their way, so it would lead to America’s downfall.

The galling thing is the fact that, even though American Christians remain 75% of the population, we are propagandized and suppressed by the Liberals in both the Old and New Media, to make it seem as if WE are the Minority, when, in fact, WE are the overwhelming Majority.

It is this New Generation of Amoral Marxists, who have taken over the Democratic Party, who are in fact, just a tiny, albeit vocal, Minority of America’s population.

So, what can an average Christian American, like you and me, do about this “Tyranny of the Minority”?

Christians have to make a choice in these tough times whether to allow those who are attempting to “radically change” our Sovereign Nation, given to us by God into a Democratic Socialist Paradise or…

As the Apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians, we can STAND.

However, you cannot stand without “the full armor of God”. I have found, as have my family and friends, that the better that you are doing, in terms of your Christian Walk, the harder that you will be attacked.

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.…- Ephesians 6:10-12

Our Christianity as Americans does not and can not end at Noon on Sunday, as we shake the Preacher’s hand and walk out of the sanctuary (those of us who still get to g and are not “quarantined” at home).

“Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to war.”

Because believe me, Americans…we are in one.

Read your Bible…for it is the Word of God.

Pray for our country.

Pray for our Houses of Worship.

And, ask God for Revival in our Sovereign Nation.

Until He Comes,

KJ
