Why Did the Republicans Lose the House?

Elephant question

Why did the Republican Party lose their majority in the House of Representatives?

It is an interesting question. Let’s try to figure out an answer.

With less than a month to go before the Midterm Elections, OpenSecrets.org reported that Republican Funding Sources had begun to pull their backing from certain candidates.

While this is a normal practice as election day nears, it signals that Republican groups are scrambling to move funds to districts where their dollars will count more — even though many of the abandoned campaigns are in Republican-leaning districts. “It’s highly unusual for the party to pull money from an incumbent,” Billet said. “Incumbents generally have a better advantage in subsequent elections, but this is one where they may not. That makes it doubly unusual for them to be pulling money from these races.”

Meanwhile, Democratic funding has yet to abandon any races in Democrat-leaning districts. Democratic candidates have been polling well and raising lots of money, Billet said.

CLF, a super PAC backed by major Republican donors, is spending far more this election cycle than the NRCC. CLF is relatively new to conservative political funding. When it formed in 2012, it only spent money on a handful of races.

So far this cycle, CLF spent $87 million on 51 races, averaging $1.7 million spent per race. Meanwhile, the NRCC spent $47.4 million on 33 races.

This is dramatically different from the groups’ spending just two years ago. The NRCC more than doubled CLF in 2016, doling out $39.7 million to CLF’s $14.3 million.

On the other side, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has spent nearly the same amount as the NRCC. So far, DCCC spent $60.4 million on 53 races, which is more than what the committee spent in 2016.

“People are making tough decisions now when resources are extra tight,” Billet said. “They have to do it now to make sure that the money they shift around has an impact. [Republicans] are really concerned, maybe close to desperate to hang on to the majority in the House.”

The NRCC and CLF did not respond to requests to comment.

Of course.

However, the New York Times concluded that, like everything else, the loss of the House was Trump’s fault.

Even before Mr. Trump began thundering against an “invasion” from Latin America — spurning with finality the moderate swing voters that Republicans desperately needed — his party’s facade of election-year unity was crumbling.

Panic mounting, Republican factions began looking out for themselves: Mr. McCarthy, currying favor with the right as he positioned himself to succeed Mr. Ryan, revived a push to fund Mr. Trump’s border wall. On the weekend before the election, Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, a far-right rival of Mr. McCarthy, began calling colleagues to gauge their interest in supporting him for minority leader in a Democratic-led House.

As Mr. Trump swallowed the already-faint Republican economic message with deafening appeals to right-wing nationalism, Republican campaign chiefs began expressing discomfort with his turn toward raw racial politics. Senator Cory Gardner of Colorado, head of the Republican Senate committee, expressed anxiety to allies that Mr. Trump’s obsession with a migrant caravan could harm his Senate re-election in 2020.

Among White House aides, improvisation and favor-trading overrode any semblance of political strategy. Even Vice President Mike Pence, aides noted, appeared less than deliberate in his approach: When conservative media began rippling with interest in John James, a long-shot Senate candidate in Michigan, Mr. Pence phoned the president from the state and urged him to campaign there. The same day, a public poll found Mr. James losing by 17 points to Senator Debbie Stabenow.

Johnny DeStefano, counselor to the president, told an associate he used “every ounce of capital” to keep Mr. Trump from visiting Michigan and other states where his party was sure to lose.

And in a move that baffled their political peers, both Mr. Pence and Mr. McCarthy visited Kansas City on the Friday before the election to campaign with Mr. Yoder, among other Republicans — more than a month after the N.R.C.C. concluded Mr. Yoder could not win.

Did you notice how the Times did not refer to him as “President Trump”?

That is because it is still too painful for them to even type the words out of a computer keyboard.

But, I digress.

It was not the President’s fault.

This country has never seen a sitting president work harder on behalf of Republican Candidates in a Midterm Election than Donald J. Trump did. His MAGA Rallies were phenomenal and truly fired up the Republican Base.

I feel like the loss of the House occurred for a couple of reasons.

The first one being that the Republican Founders pulled their money from candidates who were trailing with one month to go. While this is a normal practice in politics, we are not living in normal times. The Democrats stuck beside their losing candidates to the bitter end. The Republicans should have, also.

The second reason is more of an extrapolation than anything else.

After watching the graft and corruption of the Democrats in Arizona, George, and Florida in their post-election scrambling to “find” lost votes, one has to surmise that the Democrats’ corruption was also occurring in other states, as well.

I truly believe that the only way that the Republicans could have held on to their majority in the House of Republicans would have been to completely and unabashedly join the President on their Campaign Trail for Republican hopefuls in every state in the Union.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I saw a lot of excitement coming from the President. I even went and saw one of his rallies when he came to my state.

However, except for a select few, I did not see the Republican Hierarchy (Moderates) descend from Mount Olympus, I mean Capitol Hill, to push worthwhile candidates like John James, who was defeated by Debbie Stabenow in Michigan.

The Republican Elite are going to have to develop the “Eye of the Tiger” and go on the offensive against the Democrats for the next two years if they wish to regain control of the House in 2020.

It is time for those “Moderate Republicans” who haven’t before, to jump onto the Trump Train.

If all of the political shenanigans in Arizona, Georgia, and Florida 2018 were “trial runs” to see what the Democrats could get by with in the 2020 President Election, then we will need every single Republican Lawmaker on Capitol Hill to support President Trump in order to overcome future Democrat Corruption and secure the re-election of Donald J. Trump.

Because, as was just demonstrated, the Democrats will stick together even after Election Day, doing what ever they can in order to achieve victory, even if it means that…

One lies and the other swears to it.

Soros Connected With the “Abused Women” on the Elevator With Jeff Flake

160729-jeff-flake-ap-1160

Benedict Arnold (1741-1801) was an early American hero of the Revolutionary War (1775-83) who later became one of the most infamous traitors in U.S. history after he switched sides and fought for the British. At the outbreak of the war, Arnold participated in the capture of the British garrison of Fort Ticonderoga in 1775. In 1776, he hindered a British invasion of New York at the Battle of Lake Champlain. The following year, he played a crucial role in bringing about the surrender of British General John Burgoyne’s (1722-92) army at Saratoga. Yet Arnold never received the recognition he thought he deserved. In 1779, he entered into secret negotiations with the British, agreeing to turn over the U.S. post at West Point in return for money and a command in the British army. The plot was discovered, but Arnold escaped to British lines. His name has since become synonymous with the word “traitor.”

So will this guy’s.

FoxNews.com reports that

Sen. Jeff Flake was confronted by two female protesters in a Capitol Hill elevator on Friday after he announced that he’d support Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Flake (R-Ariz.) had been undecided before announcing his support for the nominee.

The two protesters, both explaining they were victims of sexual assaults, began shouting at Flake because of his expected vote for Kavanaugh.

“Look at me when I’m talking to you!” she yelled. “You’re telling me that my assault doesn’t matter, that what happened to me doesn’t matter!”

Christine Blasey Ford and Kavanaugh testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday over Ford’s sexual assault accusations toward the nominee.

“You’re going to let people who do these things into power. That’s what you’re telling me when you vote for him,” the protester told Flake on Friday.

Flake later voted for Kavanaugh’s nomination to go to the full Senate floor later.

However, he called for a week-long FBI investigation into Ford’s allegations before he would support the nominee.

The confrontation went viral, with the woman later being identified in reports as Maria Gallagher, 23, who showed up the Senate office building to protest Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

The other woman, Ana Maria Archila, said she had spoken previously to Flake this week and told him of her sexual assault, emphasizing that Dr. Ford is telling the truth.

“This is not tolerable!” she told him, explaining that a man who sexually assaulted a woman cannot be allowed to sit on the Supreme Court.

Ana Maria Archila, one of the women who confronted Jeff Flake on the elevator at the Capitol after he said he was voting for Brett Kavanaugh, is the co-executive director for the Center for Popular Democracy and the Center for Popular Democracy Action Fund.

The Center For Popular Democracy is heavily funded by George Soros. The organization also identified Maria Gallagher to the press as the other woman confronting Flake.

According to the organization, it is a “high-impact national organization that builds organizing power to transform the local and state policy landscape through deep, long-term partnerships with leading community-based organizing groups nationwide.”

Archila joined the group in September 2013.

A profile on Archila says that she emigrated to the U.S. from Bogota, Colombia, when she was 17 years old. An outdated LinkedIn page says that Archila was formerly the co-executive director of a similar advocacy group, Make the Road New York in Brooklyn.

Archila lives in the Astoria neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Maria Gallagher is from Westchester, New York. She never told anyone about her abuse before getting in the face of Sen. Flake. She majored in psychology at Northeastern, where she was a member of a society named ” Strong Women. Strong Girls. Acting out.” (courtesy of Heavy.com)

Gee. I wonder what sort of “society” that was?

Surely, they weren’t a bunch of Feminist Political Activists, were they?

Of course they were. And, don’t call them “Shirley”.

And, what a coinky-dink for the two of them to be from New York and to happen to be in the elevator with a supposedly protected U.S. Congressman, huh?

It has also been reported that the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee met with Flake.

I wonder if Senator Sheila Jackson Lee handed him an envelope like she did Professor Ford’s Lawyer?

Is it just me, gentle readers, or do you also believe that Soros’ money is spread all over this political circus?

I have been following politics, both local and national, since college.

The political chicanery that the legendary Ford Family (Harold, John, Edmond, and Harold Jr.) pulled in Memphis was child’s play compared to what the Modern Democratic Party has degenerated into.

I’m waiting for these crooks to start bashing someone’s head in, a la Al Capone (Robert DeNiro) in “The Untouchables”.

Former Senator and Secretary of State John Kerry has been practicing enough sedition on his own with his unsanctioned meetings with Iran, without Sen. Flake’s help in undermining a sitting President.

Flake’s sedition is even worse than Kerry’s.

He’s a member of the President’s Political Party.

And, he should be ashamed of himself

But, he’s not.

He’s leaving Congress, so just consider this as training.

…For his future job as a “Former Republican” Political Analyst…with CNN.

Durbin Suggests Stopping SCOTUS Nominee More Important Than Midterm Elections

mtp_full_durbin_180708_1920x1080.nbcnews-ux-1080-600

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1016071245568380934

FoxNews.com reports that

Just one day before President Trump is set to announce his pick to replace retiring Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy in a primetime address from the White House, a top Democratic senator suggested that stopping the nominee is more important than the upcoming midterm elections.

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., acknowledged that so-called red-state Democrats may be tempted to vote for Trump’s selection out of political necessity, but urged his colleagues Sunday to consider more than their political careers.

“Beyond the procedure, beyond the gamesmanship, it is a life-and-death important decision to be made by this court on so many issues,” the Senate minority whip said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“The men and women that I work with on the Democratic side really take this seriously,” he added, after host Chuck Todd raised the possibility that Democrats could lose their bid to retake the Senate by opposing the nominee. “They understand it’s an historic decision. It’s about more than the next election. It’s about what future the United States of America is going to chart.”

Speaking on “Fox News Sunday,” Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham called the situation a veritable “nightmare” for Democrats hanging onto their vulnerable seats in states that largely support Trump.

Those Democrats — including West Virginia’s Joe Manchin, North Dakota’s Heidi Heitkamp, and Indiana’s Joe Donnelly — must choose between alienating their constituents, or trying to halt a conservative nominee who may ultimately prove unstoppable anyway because of the GOP’s slim Senate majority.

Only 50 votes are needed to confirm a justice, because Senate Republicans eliminated the filibuster for Supreme Court justices last year — widely seen as a retaliation for Democrats’ decision to get rid of the filibuster to ensure that President Barack Obama’s nominees were seated on the D.C. Circuit.

Durbin charged that it was “totally inconsistent” for Republicans to press for a vote on Trump’s nominee after stalling the nomination of Merrick Garland in 2016. GOP Senate leaders refused to vote on Garland’s selection, saying it was inappropriate to consider a nomination during a presidential election year — a principle Durbin claimed must logically apply to midterm election cycles as well.

But Judiciary Committee member Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., said Sunday he would still be willing to meet with Trump’s nominee, even as he echoed Durbin’s complaints about Garland’s treatment.

I could go into detail, as I have in numerous past posts, about how the Far Left Democratic Party has completely gone off the rails since the election and subsequent Inauguration of the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.

Of course, the fact that he has achieved great success in fulfilling his Campaign Promises since Inauguration Day has not helped the mental state of Democrats at all.

Hence, Durbin’s wish to commit political hari kari by fighting Trump’s Choice for the vacant Supreme Court Justice position, no matter whom the President nominates tonight.

Through my lifetime, I have watched the Democrats railroad three Republican President’s Nominations: Bork, Ginsburg, and Thomas. Thank God Thomas was able to make it through the Democrats’ Gauntlet, which included false charges of sexual harassment, to become a solid Conservative member of the SCOTUS.

Democrats know that Trump is going to nominate a Conservative for the position tonight.

After the success that Justice Gorsuch has already shown himself to be, why should Trump change his game plan to please the Democrats?

The answer is, of course, he shouldn’t.

So Durbin, Schumer, et al, have a choice: either be public servants and allow President Trump to pick his nominee without too much fuss, or, show your backsides to the voting public and give them another reason to kick your out-of touch egotistical as…errr…selves out of your phony baloney jobs. (I didn’t get a harrumph from that guy! – Mel Brooks, “Blazing Saddles”)

Which personally, gentle readers, will be fine with me.

I’m so tired of all of the negativity about every single thing that the duly elected 45th President of the United States does, that I could throw something at the TV and hit Shep Smith right between the eyes.

Between the Dems and the Never-Trumpers, it is amazing that the President has been so successful.

And, if he nominates the individual whom I think he will tonight, he will expose the hypocrisy of the before-mentioned Nattering Nabobs of Negativity so severely, it will result in months of side-splitting entertainment for those of us who support President Trump to look forward to.

As Garth said to Wayne when they put their street hockey goal back in place after a car came down their street,

Boy Scouts Change Name to Include Girls…Liberals Screw Up Everything

Boy Scouts

I think the Boy Scouts are effectively dead.

There really is a difference between boys and girls and the way they think and the way they grow up.

– Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee

The Washington Post reports that

The Boy Scouts of America announced last year that it would welcome girls for the first time in its century-long history.

Now the organization’s flagship program — long known as the Boy Scouts — has a new name to promote the message. And it’s missing the word “boy.”

Beginning in February 2019, it will be known as Scouts BSA.

“Scouts BSA perfectly represents the new, inclusive program for older Scouts that the Boy Scouts of America is proud to offer,” said Effie Delimarkos, a spokeswoman.

Chief Scout Executive Michael Surbaugh told the Associated Press that many names were considered and that the ultimate goal was “to land on something that evokes the past but also conveys the inclusive nature of the program going forward.” Surbaugh said he expects that kids enrolled in Scouts BSA would refer to themselves just as “scouts,” without “girl” or “boy” identifiers.

In October, Boy Scouts of America announced it would allow girls into the Cub Scouts program, a step in allowing them to earn the coveted Eagle Scout ranking. So far, 3,000 girls have joined roughly 170 Cub Scout packs in the first rollout of the new policy. Scouts BSA will begin admitting female members next year.

Also on Wednesday, Scouts BSA announced a new campaign for the Cub Scouts, “Scout Me In,” that features female Cub Scouts.

The organization has been forced to find new ways of bringing kids and their families into scouting, especially as its membership has dropped by about a third since 2000. But the changes also reflect shifting social and cultural norms that expect programs to be equally available to boys and girls.

Still, Girl Scouts of the USA, a separate organization, which has opposed efforts by Boy Scouts of America to recruit girls to its ranks, said the name change was not much more than that — noting that it came without any new girl-focused programming.

“We proudly own the ‘Girl’ in Girl Scouts,” a spokesperson said. “Since our inception, Girl Scouts of the USA have been about putting girls front and center, ensuring that everything we do is not only with their best interests in mind but equips them to be the fearless leaders and change makers who our 50 million alumnae prove to be.”

The Boy Scouts are over one hundred years old. On January 24, 1908, the Boy Scouts movement began in England with the publication of the first installment of Robert Baden-Powell’s Scouting for Boys. Baden-Powell was already well known by English boys, and thousands of them quickly bought up the handbook. By the end of April, the serialization of Scouting for Boys was completed, and a lot of impromptu Boy Scout troops had sprung up across Britain.

Baden-Powell became a national hero in Britain in 1910, for his 217-day defense of Mafeking in the South African War. Soon after, Aids to Scouting, a military field manual he had written for British soldiers in 1899, caught on with a younger audience. English boys really took to the lessons on tracking and observation and organized elaborate games using the book. Upon hearing about this, Baden-Powell decided to write a nonmilitary field manual for British youth that would also emphasize the importance of morality and good deeds.

First, though, he decided to try out some of his ideas on an actual group of boys. On July 25, 1907, he took a diverse group of 21 adolescents to Brownsea Island in Dorsetshire where they set up camp. With the aid of other instructors, he taught the boys about camping, observation, deduction, woodcraft, boating, lifesaving, patriotism, and chivalry. Many of these lessons were learned through inventive games that were very popular with the boys. The first Boy Scouts meeting was a huge success.

American Scouting began with an event that happened in London in 1909. Chicago publisher William Boyce become lost in the fog and a Boy Scout came to his aid. After guiding Boyce to his destination, the boy refused a tip, and explained to Boyce that, as a Boy Scout, he would not accept payment for doing a good deed. The gesture inspired Boyce to start several regional U.S. youth organizations, specifically the Woodcraft Indians and the Sons of Daniel Boone, into the Boy Scouts of America. Incorporated on February 8, 1910, the movement soon spread throughout the country.

In 1916, Baden-Powell began the Wolf Cubs, which caught on as the Cub Scouts in the United States, for boys under the age of 11. Four years later, the first international Boy Scout Jamboree was held in London, and Baden-Powell was acclaimed Chief Scout of the world. He died in 1941.

Since then, scouting has produced a lot of good men, rooted in faith and trained to be leaders.

I remember it like it was yesterday, I was in Seventh Grade, and we were living in an area of Memphis, behind the Veterans’ Cemetery, affectionately known as “Nutbush”. I was a sickly undersized asthmatic kid, who was always getting picked on in the neighborhood. Anyway, my buddy Bobby and his older brother Ronnie were Boy Scouts in a troop, which their Dad, a mechanic, was the Scout Leader of. They asked me to join up, so I did. It was a lot of fun, and I “set the record” for making Tenderfoot, by learning all the knots and stuff in two days.

Unfortunately though, my severe asthma kept me from going out on the camping trips, so I had to drop out of the Boy Scouts.

That being said, I believe what irritates me the most about this whole situation, is them turning an organization with Christian roots, into a Liberal Social Engineering Experiment, just as they have our Armed Forces.

Boys and girls are different from one another.

Men and women are different from one another.

Vive le difference!

Being a Boy Scout shouldn’t be about gender equality. It should be about teaching young boys about nature, disciple, and self-reliance. It should be about learning about love of God and Country and how to be a leader of men.

The “smartest people in the room” love to throw out the term “inclusiveness” for every cockamamie idea they have which will blur the line between the gender identification or that will help them get rid of traditional American Faith and Values for their credo of relative morality and situational ethics.

Liberals are desperately trying to devalue masculinity and neuter American males.

In fact, they are so desperate that now they are about to get rid of a =n organization which has been a molder of young men and a starting point for American Leaders.

Next thing you know they will rewrite the Scout Oath:

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

Between this and their decision last year to allow openly Gay Scout Leaders, this latest decision by the BSA blows their oath all to Hades, doesn’t it?

Liberals have taken a once proud organization known for producing men like Neil Armstrong (Eagle Scout)and turned it into just another cardboard cut-out Liberal Organizations where everyone is “the same” and the male and femaile gender identities are gotten rid off in the name of “inclusiveness”.

If the Girl Scouts can be left alone, why can’t the Boy Scouts?

GQ Vs. The Bible

U.S.-Constitution-U.S.-Flag-Bible-Gavel1

I read the Bible every day. – Denzel Washington

The Christian Post reports that

GQ magazine editors have published a list of 21 books they say aren’t worth reading despite them being seen as the great books. The Bible is listed at No. 12 because, they claim, it’s “not the finest thing that man has ever produced,” and it’s “self-contradictory” and “foolish.”

“Those who have read it know there are some good parts, but overall it is certainly not the finest thing that man has ever produced,” they continue. “It is repetitive, self-contradictory, sententious, foolish, and even at times ill-intentioned,” claim the editors of the international monthly men’s magazine based in New York City.

The editors then tell the readers, “If the thing you heard was good about the Bible was the nasty bits, then I propose Agota Kristof’s The Notebook, a marvelous tale of two brothers who have to get along when things get rough.”

During the Obama Administration, I wrote an ongoing series of articles highlighting “The War on Christianity” being waged, at that time, on an almost daily basis by that President and his Administration, along with the Democratic Party’s minions in the Main Stream Media.

Now, we have a different President and Vice-President, who, gasp, actually support Christianity in America and are not shy about invoking the Name of God Almighty in their public speeches.

Heaven forbid! Well…Heaven doesn’t forbid…it encourages.

What is amazing to me, though, is how, American Christianity continues to be attacked by Liberals on all fronts:  militarily, culturally, and even within organized religion, itself.

From illegal immigration to abortion to homosexual “rights”, Americans who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ on these issues have been under fire by Liberals, who insist that they know more about what is in the Bible and what Christ says, or would say, about these topics, than those of us who actually read God’s Word.

Claiming to be wise, they became fools. – Romans 1:22

The thought of an omnipresent God interferes with Modern Liberals’ belief that they are the most important thing in the universe.

You see, as long as they are the master of their own destiny, which in fact they are, because God gives us free will, their selfish behavior and their sinful lifestyle, present no personal consequences to them, and therefore, do not keep them awake at night. And yet, when you enter into a conversation with a member of this hedonistic generation, you soon find out that they aren’t as personally happy with their lifestyle choices, as they want you to believe that they are. Consequently, this whole effort by Political and Social Liberals alike, to push a new set of morals, values, and ethics on average Christian Americans, stems from the fact that they are all miserable, selfish, little cretins, who want their poor lifestyle choices validated and deemed as normal.

As I have stated before, America remains 75% Christian. And, this fact drives the Far left, including the current “Selfish Generation”, absolutely crazy….and desperate.

The above article from Gentlemen’s Quarterly magazine is no surprise.

It’s a magazine by Liberals for Liberals. And, the lifestyle that it advocates hardly agrees with the tenets of Christianity.

That being said, isn’t it interesting that those among us who claim to be the most tolerant are actually the least tolerant of all?

And, those who claim to be champions of “personal freedom” are enemies of the religious freedom secured for us in the United States Constitution and the faith of 75% of us?

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. – Matthew 7:20

Trump Asks Why We’re Letting in So Many People From S—hole Countries. Dems Cry “RAAACIIIST!”…Again.

trump immigration meeting

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/951675713089888256

FoxNews.com reports that

President Trump lamented “s—hole countries” during immigration negotiations on Thursday with lawmakers in the Oval Office, Fox News has confirmed.

“Why are we having all these people from s—hole countries come here?” the president said, in comments first reported by The Washington Post.

The president was referring to people from Haiti, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras and African countries in the temporary protected status program, a source in the meeting told Fox News.

About a dozen people, both Republicans and Democrats, were in the room at the time, including South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham and Illinois Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin.

Trump made the comments as Durbin was reading a list of temporary protected status countries.

The president also suggested the United States should admit more people from countries like Norway instead, the Post said. Trump had met with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg and held a news conference with her Wednesday.

In a statement, the White House did not deny Trump made the comments.

“Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people,” said Raj Shah, the principal deputy White House press secretary.

Democrats reacted by accusing the president of racism.

“As an American, I am ashamed of the president,” said Illinois Democratic Rep. Luis Gutiérrez. “His comments are disappointing, unbelievable, but not surprising. We always knew that president Trump doesn’t like people from certain countries or people or certain colors.”

Some Republicans also voiced their disapproval. Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, whose district includes Miami, responded: “Language like that shouldn’t be heard in locker rooms and it shouldn’t be heard in the White House.”

Rep. Mia Love of Utah, whose parents were Haitian immigrants, called on Trump to apologize, saying his comments were “unkind, divisive, elitist, and fly in the face of our nation’s values.”

The Trump administration announced Monday that as many as 200,000 Salvadoran immigrants living in the United States will no longer be allowed to stay because they have decided to end their protected status.

The administration’s decision to end special status for Salvadoran immigrants has emerged as a possible bargaining chip for the president as he works to strike a deal with Congress on immigration.

A bipartisan group of six senators said Thursday afternoon they reached “an agreement in principle” with each other on immigration, including a plan to shield illegal immigrations brought to the United States as children from deportation, though it’s unclear if Trump or others in Congress will go along with it.

“The President will only accept an immigration deal that adequately addresses the visa lottery system and chain migration – two programs that hurt our economy and allow terrorists into our country,” Shah said.

Shah added: “Like other nations that have merit-based immigration, President Trump is fighting for permanent solutions that make our country stronger by welcoming those who can contribute to our society, grow our economy and assimilate into our great nation. He will always reject temporary, weak and dangerous stopgap measures that threaten the lives of hardworking Americans, and undercut immigrants who seek a better life in the United States through a legal pathway.”

The comments followed a recent report in the New York Times that Trump said the people of Haiti “all have AIDS” and the people from Nigeria would never “go back to their huts” in Africa after receiving visas to enter the United States. But White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said at the time that the report was false.

Sanders said senior staffers who were “actually in the meeting deny these outrageous claims and it’s both sad and telling the New York Times would print the lies of their anonymous ‘sources’ anyway.”

What is it that makes a geographic area, whether it be an American City or a Foreign Country a “s—hole”?

Is it the color of the skin of the area’s population?

Or rather, it is the decades of poor political leadership, resulting from the avarice and lack of stewardship from those who have either been chosen or who have chosen themselves to be the leader of that area?

For example, the city of Detroit has been labeled a s—hole in the past because of decades of poor Democratic Leadership, which resulted in both businesses and taxpayers leaving the city.

Without a strong economic base, the revenue required to bring stability to an area, including providing for those in the population who can’t or won’t provide for themselves ceases to exist, resulting in an impoverished area unable to pick itself up by its bootstraps in order to be a strong and healthy city…or nation.

When it comes to the countries whom the president referred to as s—holes, it is reasonable that their citizens would want to leave them to make a better life for themselves and their families.

The problem is, as found during the previous Administration, these immigrants are coming to out country and taking advantage of our social programs, without, in many cases, contributing anything to the Sovereign Nation which welcomed them with open arms.

By ending the programs like protected status countries, Visa Lottery, and chain migration, the Trump Administration will be able to make it more difficult for those who have no wish to contribute to our nation, but rather to take advantage of or commit terrorist acts within it, to enter our borders.

Ever since Donald J. Trump announced that he was running for President of the United States of America, Liberals/Progressives/Democrats have attempted to paint him as a racist, oblivious to the fact that not only did he employ Americans of every ethnic background in his corporations, he had never been labeled a racist in his long and distinguished life….until he entered politics.

Unfortunately, this will not be the last time that Democrats attempt to portray the president as being racist.

However, have you noticed that they have not uttered a mumblin’ word about the fact that Black Unemployment in America is down to a record low under President Trump’s leadership?

About this Racism Thing…as Michael Jackson used to sing…perhaps Democrats should start with “The Man in the Mirror”.

Memphis City Council Sells Parks, Removes Confederate Statues Under Cover of Night, and Yet, the City’s Problems Remain – A KJ Analysis

“Walking in Memphis.

Walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale.

Walking in Memphis.

But, do I really feel the way I feel?” – Marc Cohen, 1991

Personally, I feel like I’m gonna hurl.

In the grand tradition of the Barbarians of ISIS and the Communist Revolution of 1918, the Memphis City Council, relying on the cover of the dark of night, simply removed historical monuments which “offended” them.

Memphis’s CBS Affiliate, WREG, reports that

The statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest was hoisted off its platform and lowered to a truck at 9:04 p.m. Wednesday, 112 years after the Confederate general and former Memphis resident was memorialized in a city park.Memphis City Council voted unanimously Wednesday evening to remove two controversial Confederate statues in Memphis, those of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest and Confederate States of America President Jefferson Davis. They immediately approved the minutes.

Almost immediately, a heavy police presence surrounded the park and a crane rolled into Health Sciences Park on Union Avenue within minutes of the decision.

According to a tweet from Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, the public parks have been sold to a private entity. He says the removal will be conducted by a private entity and will be compliant with the law.

Strickland is supposed to make a public comment at City Hall tonight.

The park property was transferred to a nonprofit called Memphis Greenspace. The group’s website lists its director as Van Turner, a former Shelby County commissioner.

Lee Millar with Sons of Confederate Veterans responded, “It is a deliberate attempt to avoid the state law and the city is breaking the law.”

The group in a Facebook post called the nonprofit the parks were sold to a “sham” and accused the city of desecrating Forrest’s gravesite.

The NAACP Memphis Branch said in a statement that history was made Wednesday. “The Memphis City Council and Mayor Jim Strickland heard the voices of the people who wanted these removed and legally made it happen.”

“We know we have more work to do, but it’s always nice to get a win,” said pastor Earle Fisher, who credited the work of Tami Sawyer with the group Takeemdown901 with pushing the issue. “I think it’s fair to say we would not be where we are today without her leadership.”

Fisher said the group would continue to fight for other issues such as pay and poverty.

City officials have said for some time that are unanimous in wanting Memphis’ Confederate statues removed before the 50th anniversary next year of Dr. Martin Luther King’s assassination in Memphis in April 1968.

Forrest, a Confederate general and slave trader in Memphis, was originally buried in Elmwood Cemetery. His grave was moved to Union Avenue and the equestrian statue built there in 1905.

Davis’ monument was placed Downtown in 1965.

As a 59-year-old resident of the Memphis Area, I have borne witness to the governmental mismanagement and resulting decay and degeneration of what was once one of the friendliest places in the country to live.

There are still friendly people in Memphis, but, chances are, they work in Memphis and are living in the suburbs, as I do.

The mass exodus of Memphis taxpayers started when Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton, who occupied that office from 1991-2008, told taxpayers of a Caucasian persuasion, if they did not like the way he was running the city, they could leave.

So, they did.

Since then, violent crime in Memphis has steadily risen, to the point where some suburban husbands will not allow their families to enter Memphis during the day or night.

On February 6, 2013, the Majority-Black-Democrat Memphis City Council renamed three Confederate-themed parks to prevent some State Legislators from blocking such name changes.

The council passed a resolution to immediately rename Confederate Park and Jefferson Davis Park in downtown Memphis and Nathan Bedford Forrest Park, which lies just a few miles away. The vote was 9-0 with three members abstaining.

And now, they have decided that because an era of American History is offensive to some, it is their job to censor history and remove any sort of reminder of that turbulent time.

Meanwhile, the black-on-black homicidal genocide continues in what was once the “City of Good Abode”, now #2 on the FBI’s Most Dangerous Cities List for 2017.

It must have been those Confederate Statues’ fault…it just HAS to have been the fault of the General and his wife…maybe even, his horse.

It has to have been.

Otherwise, the people who have been responsible for the descent of “The City of Good Abode” into Detroit South, where black Americans are being murdered every night of the week, would have to be held responsible for their own actions.

And we can’t have that, now…

Can we?

By the way, what those who moved the General don’t want you to dwell on is the fact that the General and his wife were buried beside the statue and therefore now have to be “relocated”.

Does this mean that we can dig up their relatives who have passed away and “relocate” them, too, if we find them to be “offensive”?

Just asking.

But, I digress…

It is time for the Memphis City Council to quite worrying about offending somebody or not be seen as being “politically correct” and to start worrying about the fact that Memphis has too much violent crime, which is affecting the city’s revenue in innumerable ways.

For instance, Memphis has no big conventions, such as the Annual Convocation of the Church of God in Christ, coming to it anymore because of inadequate convention space, which cannot be renovated and expanded because no big conventions will come to the Bluff City. Meanwhile, the Occupancy Rate of Memphis Hotels remains at a constant, stagnant 52%.

But, by gosh, by golly, now that the Memphis City Council has gotten rid of the General and ol’ Jeff Davis, decades of poor Democratic Stewardship will magically disappear and all of Memphis’ problems will be solved.

…And, I’m actually a blonde 22-year old Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader named “Buffy”.

If the City Council actually believes that Confederate Statues are the reason that Memphis, Tennessee has regressed from being an annual “City Beautiful Award” Winner to a city where the Homicide Rate finished #7 in the entire nation last year, I believe that they have their heads lodged firmly up a dark and lonely place.

At this rate, they might as well leave their heads where they are, because they are certainly not using them to think.

Will the last taxpayer in Memphis please turn off the lights?

Until He Comes.

Snowflakes Melting: Hillary’s Popularity Reaches New Low. Plus – A Comparison of Hillary & Trump’s “Accomplishments” in the White House

Branco-Trump-and-Hillary1

Every day the Main Stream Media bombards us with stories as to how unpopular Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States of America, is.

Stories, which when I watch them, bring a wry smile to my face because these are the same Political Pundits who told us that Hillary Clinton was going to beat our current president in a landslide victory on November 8, 2016.

Speaking of witch…err…which, how is “The Queen of Mean” doing these days?

Well…

Per Gallup.com

Hillary Clinton’s image has declined since June and is now the worst Gallup has measured for her to date. Her favorable rating has fallen five percentage points since June to a new low of 36%, while her unfavorable rating has hit a new high of 61%.

Clinton’s prior low favorable rating was 38% in late August/early September 2016 during the presidential campaign. She also registered a 38% favorable rating (with a 40% unfavorable rating) in April 1992, when she was much less well-known.

Let’s compare the “accomplishments” of these two during their time in the White House as President and Secretary of State, respectively, shall we?

According to Rich Lowry. who posted the following yesterday at NationalReview.com,

As the year ends, he is compiling a solid record of accomplishment.

Republicans have tried, on and off, to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil drilling since the 1980s. The effort has always engendered intense opposition and always been abandoned. A provision for drilling in ANWR is included in the Republican tax bill almost as an afterthought.

Republicans took a constitutional fight against Obamacare’s individual mandate to the Supreme Court in 2012, and lost. They targeted it in their Obamacare repeal-and-replace bill earlier this year, and lost. They tried again with a last-ditch “skinny repeal” bill, and lost yet again. Repeal of the individual mandate also is included in the Republican tax bill.

As the year ends, President Donald Trump is compiling a solid record of accomplishment. Much of it is unilateral, dependent on extensive executive actions rolling back President Barack Obama’s regulations, impressive judicial appointments, and the successful fight against ISIS overseas. The tax bill is the significant legislative achievement that heretofore had been missing.

For much of the year, Trump’s presidency had seemed to be sound and fury signifying not much besides the welcome ascension of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court; now, it is sound and fury signifying a discernible shift of American government to the right. It’s hard to see how a conventional Republican president would have done much better, except if he had managed to get Obamacare repealed, which was always going to be a dicey proposition given the narrow Republican majority in the Senate.

The tax cut is big — $1.5 trillion over ten years, and even more if you account for the budgetary gimmicks — and has changes that conservative economists have sought for decades, particularly the lower corporate rate (from 35 to 21 percent), the move to a territorial tax system (companies would only be taxed on their earnings in the U.S.), and the business expensing (companies can write off the full cost of new buildings and equipment). These reforms are arguably as significant on the corporate side as the Reagan reforms of 1981 were on the individual side. They stand a good chance to be enduring, too — it’s unlikely we are ever going back up to a 35 percent corporate rate or returning to a worldwide tax system.

The administration’s deregulatory apparatus has been in full gear. The Environmental Protection Agency is unspooling the Waters of the United States and the Clean Power Plan, major Obama-era regulations. The Federal Communications Commission reversed net neutrality. The Education Department rescinded an Obama administration Title IX letter that pushed colleges into abandoning due process in sexual-assault cases.

Obama administration rulings that occasioned fierce debates during his time in office have fallen by the wayside with barely a whimper. Obama blocked the Keystone pipeline to appease environmentalists who vociferously argued that the future of the planet was stake. Trump greenlighted it without a fuss. Obama imposed a Health and Human Services mandate that feminists portrayed as the only obstacle between women and a Handmaid’s Tale future. Trump reversed it, and contraception is still widely and easily available in America.

If any Republican would have done much of what Trump has, three acts stand out — pulling out of the Paris accords, decertifying the Iran deal, and declaring Jerusalem the capital of Israel. All three demonstrated an imperviousness to polite opinion that is one of Trump’s signature qualities.

The president also began the process of ending DACA, the Obama amnesty for so-called DREAMers, and has re-established a baseline of immigration enforcement that has had an instant impact on illegal border crossings.

Now…let’s talk about what a bang-up job that Former Secretary of State Clinton did during her tenure in that position, shall we?

Here are eight Foreign Policy Disasters, which happened under Hillary’s watch as the Architect of “Smart Power!”, in no particular order:

The decision to overthrow President Gaddafi in Libya – The short-sighted, ill-conceived action not only undermined an ally in the (now defunct) “Global War on Terror,” it also served to throw gasoline on the bonfire known as “Arab Spring”.

President Ronald Reagan had a missile fired into Gaddafi’s bedroom, resulting in him keeping quiet for 25 years. Just sayin’…

The Afghanistan “surge”- A military campaign that fails to result in a desired political outcome is con only be considered a failure. What exactly was Obama and Hillary’s desired outcome when they called for this?

It is a fait d’accompli that the Karzai Government will be able to survive long once the U.S. completes its withdrawal of its combat forces from the country in 2014. This is can only be considered a failure, A failure which cost too many of our Brightest and Best.

Granting Afghanistan major non-NATO U.S. ally status – Why did Barry and Hill decide to grant Afghanistan the status of a major non-NATO ally? When we pull out, our enemies will pour in. And, with “friends” like these, you don’t need enemies.

Maintaining the status quo with Pakistan – Pakistan has a long history of sponsoring Sunni jihadists of various stripes. Following the 2001 attacks on the United States, they did an about-face, becoming a chief partner in the U.S. military campaign in Afghanistan as well as its “global war on terror.”

10 years later, following the successful May 2011 raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan that resulted in the death of Al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden, Pakistan promptly denounced the U.S. and closed its vital supply routes to NATO-bound shipments to Afghanistan.

Hil and Barry got “played”.

The East Asia “pivot” – Strictly an exercise in containment, attempts at containing China will only fuel Chinese fears of foreign encirclement, that will encourage Chinese assertiveness, that will further encourage containment.

This pivot is only a bluff on behalf of the feckless purveyors of “Smart Power” to begin with.

As shown by the continued drawing of “Red Lines”, they will not stand up to our enemies.

Arab Spring – The Arab Spring was a series of protests and uprisings in the Middle East that began with unrest in Tunisia in late 2010. The Arab Spring has brought down regimes in some Arab countries, sparked mass violence in others, while some governments managed to delay the trouble with a mix of repression, promise of reform and state largesse.

Through this all Hillary and Obama have back the Muslim Brotherhood, the Godfather of Muslim Terrorist Organizations, in deposing Moderate Muslim Leaders.

Doesn’t make a while lot of sense, does it?

BenghaziGate – On September 11, 2012, Muslim Terrorists stormed the US Embassy Compound in Benghazi, Libya, slaughtered 4 brave Americans, including US Ambassador Chris Stephens, whose lifeless, sexually assaulted body they drug through the streets, while taking cell phone pictures of his corpse.

I have written several blogs about the Administration’s Cover-up of this atrocity, but the seminal moment, regarding Hillary Clinton came in January of 2013, during an exchange between her and Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin at a Foreign Relations Committee hearing.

Johnson asked her about the administration’s conflicting explanations for the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, which killed the ambassador and three other Americans. Hillary, as we say down here in Dixie, “got on her high keys” and said,

With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because just a bunch of regular guys, out for a walk one night, decided to go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator.

Uranium One – Uranium One was a uranium company acquired by the Russian government which received approval from Hillary Clinton’s State Department to mine for uranium in the U.S. and gave Russia twenty percent control of US uranium. The New York Times reported Uranium One’s chairman, Frank Giustra, made significant donations to the Clinton Foundation, and Bill Clinton was paid $500,000 for one speech from a Russian investment bank that has “links to the Kremlin that was promoting Uranium One stock.”  Notably, Frank Giustra, the Clinton Foundation’s largest and most controversial donor, does not appear anywhere in Clinton’s “non-private” emails. It is possible that the emails of such key donors were automatically scrubbed to protect the Clinton Foundation.

In conclusion, gentle readers, please allow me to observe that our Sovereign Nation did not just “dodge a bullet” through the Grace of God by the election of Donald J. Trump as our 45th President….

America dodged a jihad, a nuclear attack, and a cotton pickin’ Second Bolshevik Revolution.

Until He Comes,

Pelosi Pushes to Pass Law to Limit the President’s Power to Launch Nukes First

nanpelosi

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with the fire and fury like the world has never seen. He (Kim Jong Un) has been very threatening beyond a normal state, and as I said, they will be met with the fire and fury and, frankly, power the likes of which this world has never seen before.” – President Donald J. Trump

CNSNews.com reports that

Any legislation regarding the first-use of nuclear weapons by the United States must be bipartisan and apply to all current and future U.S. presidents, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) told a news conference on Thursday.

“I put this in the category of urgent. We take an oath to protect and defend,” she said.

Pelosi said an “ancient” law, dating back to 1946, currently authorizes the president of the United States to exercise the first use of nuclear weapons. “It was in a different world, and now I think it is necessary for us to address it,” she said of the 1946 law.

“There are all kinds of proposals out there, one saying — declaring the United States of America will not engage in first use of a nuclear weapon. I like that one best.”

Pelosi said other proposals would require the president to get the advice of “some people in his cabinet,” to be determined, before launching a nuclear first strike.

“So, more to come on that. I believe that as we go forward with anything like that, it has to be in a bipartisan way, because it’s about all presidents, no matter who (he) or she may be down the road.”

A reporter asked Pelosi if Congress’s sudden attention to no-first-use has something to do with concerns that President Trump will launch a nuclear weapon at North Korea and lead the U.S. into World War III, as Sen. Bob Corker suggested recently.

“Well, this doesn’t’ really have to do with him, it has to do with the presidency of any president,” Pelosi said. “Now, I remind, if our country is attacked, the War Powers Act triggers for the executive any and all powers. But there is interest in the U.S. establishing itself as no first use.

President Trump often has scorned the notion of presidents letting the enemy know ahead of time what the United States may or may not do.

Of course he doesn’t want our enemies to know what we may or may not do. Who do you think he is…Barack Hussein Obama?

Of course, the old bi…err…bat wants to take control of the defense of our nation away from President Donald J. Trump.

She knows that the 45th President of the United States of America takes his job very seriously, as the world found out in his first address to the United Nations, which was very well received by those nations whose opinions actually matter.

Trump is not the madman that Pelosi tries to infer him to be.

Rather, he listens to his Cabinet and, so far, his Foreign Policy Maneuvers have been measured and precise.

Those who would violence against America now know that there is a “new sheriff in town”.

They are no longer dealing with Petulant President Pantywaist, who went on a World Apology Tour as soon as he got into office.

We are facing the very real possibility that the little  Korean Madman, Kim Jong Un, is going to launch nuclear missiles at us.

While no President can control the actions of other countries, in their own affairs, the position of President of the United States has not historically been referred to as the Leader of the Free World for no reason.

That position has historically been the Vanguard in the fight against despotism and tyranny.

Unfortunately, for lovers of freedom the world over, instead of being the leader that the world and America itself needed, Barack Hussein Obama instead was an example of the Peter Principle.

He rose to his level of incompetence.

Obama believed in a “Chamberlain-esque” Foreign Policy of appeasement, consisting of vague warnings, pay-offs, and drawing red lines in the sand.

It didn’t work.

His continuance of the Democratic Strategy which began at the end of the Korean War of “kicking the can down the road”, instead of standing up and dealing with North Korea has led to the 45th President having to deal with a Nuclear North Korea led by a despotic madman with his finger on the button.

Our President’s plain-spoken warning of “fire and fury” to the little Korean Madman, Kim Jung Un, was entirely appropriate and needed to be said.

Regardless of the “Concerned Handwringing” from the usual suspects, including “San Fran Nan” Pelosi, the old bi…err…bat..

Much to their angst and chagrin, President Donald J. Trump appears to be adopting President Ronald Reagan’s Foreign Policy of “Peace Through Strength.”

And, unlike his ineffectual Democrat Predecessors, President Trump is willing to do whatever it takes to protect our Sovereign Nation.

Sebastian Gorka, President Trump’s Former Deputy Adviser on National Security Affairs, once said the following about politicians publicly second guessing the president on such  grave matters as North Korea.

“Anybody, whether a member of Congress or a journalist, who thinks [their] politics trumps the national security of America, that’s an indictment of you. You need to ask yourself: what’s more important? My political party or America. There’s only one correct answer to that.”

Pelosi, the old bi…err…bat, per usual, answered “wrongly”.
