Reaction to the House Budget Bill: Sarah…Plain [Spoken] and [Standing] Tall

pailinbiggulp2Yesterday afternoon, the Vichy Republican-led House of Representatives passed the “Bi-partisan” Budget Proposal, co-authored by Democrat Patti Murray and Former Republican Vice-Presidential Candidate, Paul Ryan.

By passing the bill the House Republicans turned their backs on the Conservative Base, which gave them control of the House through their votes during the Political Massacre known as Mid-Term Elections of 2010.

This current wave of attacks by Progressives, in both political partie,s is not some sort of new phenomena. They have been attempting to stifle Conservatism in American for quite some time now.

The following excerpt is taken from Ronald Reagan Speech titled “A Time For Choosing”.

This speech was given as a stump speech, at speaking engagements, and on a memorable night in 1964 in support of Barry Goldwater’s presidential campaign.

Almost 50 years later, The Great Communicators’ words ring as true now, as when they were first spoken.

We need true tax reform that will at least make a start toward restoring for our children the American Dream that wealth is denied to no one, that each individual has the right to fly as high as his strength and ability will take him…. But we cannot have such reform while our tax policy is engineered by people who view the tax as a means of achieving changes in our social structure….

Have we the courage and the will to face up to the immorality and discrimination of the progressive tax, and demand a return to traditional proportionate taxation? . . . Today in our country the tax collector’s share is 37 cents of every dollar earned. Freedom has never been so fragile, so close to slipping from our grasp.

Are you willing to spend time studying the issues, making yourself aware, and then conveying that information to family and friends? Will you resist the temptation to get a government handout for your community? Realize that the doctor’s fight against socialized medicine is your fight. We can’t socialize the doctors without socializing the patients. Recognize that government invasion of public power is eventually an assault upon your own business. If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals from customers, clients, or even government, recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he’ll eat you last.

If all of this seems like a great deal of trouble, think what’s at stake. We are faced with the most evil enemy mankind has known in his long climb from the swamp to the stars. There can be no security anywhere in the free world if there is no fiscal and economic stability within the United States. Those who ask us to trade our freedom for the soup kitchen of the welfare state are architects of a policy of accommodation.

They say the world has become too complex for simple answers. They are wrong. There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right. Winston Churchill said that “the destiny of man is not measured by material computation. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we are spirits–not animals.” And he said, “There is something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty.”

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children’s children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done.

Reagan gave Progressive Politicians Hissy Fits with his Optimistic Conservatism and his ability to deliver powerful speeches in a way that average Americans could clearly understand and relate to.

Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin remains popular in the Heartland of America and unpopular in the Northeast Corridor and on the Left Coast, for a that very same  reason:  She says out loud what average Americans are thinking.

For example, here is an article she has written for breitbart.com

No one can argue with the fact that Paul Ryan’s compromise budget bill raises taxes and increases spending. Show me one Republican who got elected on that platform. Spare America the Orwellian word games. If the government is taking money out of your pocket to fund its growing Big Brother operations, it’s a tax. Whether money is taken from you via your phone bill, your airline ticket, or your income, it’s a tax. If politicians can’t be honest about this, it’s time to go home.

The TEA Party’s very acronym stands for “Taxed Enough Already.” We sent these politicians to Congress in an historic landslide election in 2010 with a mandate to stop the runaway spending train bankrupting our nation, not to wave to it from the station or – heaven forbid – increase its speed. And yet, here we are still pretending that there are no real world consequences to running up near trillion dollar deficits year after year with no end in sight.

So, where does this leave us? We can sit back and accept the increased spending “Compromised Plan” with increases in taxes and spending, or we can charge ahead to at least preserve the very modest Sequester cuts American workers already fought for. If we go with the first option, we simply kick the can down the road yet again and wait for the inevitable real world consequences of bankruptcy (see Detroit for an example of what’s in store). Or we can go with the second option and probably get clobbered by the media (so what’s new?!).

The Political Establishment will no doubt tell us that a budget battle will distract us from the fight against Obamacare. But that excuse is just the latest variation in the Establishment’s old canard that they’re keeping their powder dry for the next big battle which never seems to materialize because they’re always too busy waving the white flag and following the path of least resistance until election day.

Enough is enough!

Here’s the deal, folks. The media will clobber us no matter what. We do not want more taxes. We want Congress to rein in spending and live within its means. (What’s so radical about that?!) Americans have gotten quite an education recently in wasteful government spending as we’ve all seen how the federal government can blow a billion dollars on a website that doesn’t work.

Do these members of Congress really think they can justify every tax dollar they spend and still demand more from hard working Americans by increasing our taxes?

2014 is just around the corner. If any member of Congress thinks raising taxes and increasing wasteful spending is a winning strategy to run on, then by all means they should vote for the Ryan budget. We’ll be watching.

Just as Reagan used the Bully Pulpit of the Presidency to bypass the Progressive Politicians and Main Stream Media of his time, and talked directly to the American People, so does Sarah Palin use today’s New Media very effectively.

The Arctic Fox is refreshing and Honest…and, she drives Progressives like John Boehner, Harry Reid, and President Barack Hussein Obama. Plus, she is not a private citizen, unencumbered by the Political Straight Jacket that her own partner placed upn her in the 2008 Elections.

Don’t like her? Too bad.

This is Sarah…Plain [spoken] and [standing] Tall.

The House Budget Proposal: Vichy Republicans Capitulate. Sell Out Conservative Base.

boehnercryingDo you realize that since 1988, a Republican Party Presidential Candidate has won the Popular Vote only once? And, that was George W. Bush in 2004.

There is a reason for that, and it is not what the Liberals, of both political parties would have you think.

Like Reagan before him, Dubya exuded a “Optimistic Conservatism”, which appealed not only to The Republican Party Conservative Base, but to Conservative Democrats, as well.

After losing twice in the Presidential Election to a Far Left Ideologue in the person of Barack Hussein Obama, by now, you would think that the Republican Party would return to the “Optimistic Conservatism” which actually has won both Congressional and Presidential Elections for them in the past, but no….

According to thehill.com…

Speaker John Boehner called it “ridiculous” Wednesday that outside conservative groups oppose a budget deal crafted by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.).

RSC Chairman Steve Scalise dismissed Teller later in the day over accusations that Teller was leaking intel to the groups.

“We are saddened and outraged that an organization that purports to represent conservatives in Congress would dismiss a staff member for advancing conservatism and working with conservatives outside of Congress,” the leaders’ statement reads. “Paul Teller is one of the true heroes of the conservative movement. For over a decade, he has been the guiding light of conservatism on Capitol Hill. No one has done more to advance conservative principles and block the liberal agenda than Paul Teller. In the tradition of President Reagan, he is a true happy warrior who is both forceful and courageous.”

The effort was put together by the Conservative Action Project, a weekly gathering of more than 100 CEOS of organizations representing conservative movement, economic, national security and social groups. Co-signers include: Ed Meese, former attorney general under President Ronald Reagan; former Rep. David McIntosh (R-Ind.); Brent Bozell, chairman of For America; Mike Needham, CEO of Heritage Action for America; and Colin Hanna, president of Let Freedom Ring.

Conservatives have a right to be upset, as reported on cnbc.com,

House Republicans “capitulated” in agreeing to the two-year budget deal reached last night and left the country to deal with an unsustainable fiscal situation until the peak of the presidential primaries in 2015, when nothing will get done, former federal budget director David Stockman told CNBC on Wednesday.

“First, let’s be clear—it’s a joke and betrayal,” Stockman, who served under President Ronald Reagan, said on “Squawk on the Street.” “It’s the final surrender of the House Republican leadership to Beltway politics and kicking the can and ignoring the budget monster that’s hurtling down the road.”

Stockman added that the budget deal means lawmakers would take a “two-year vacation” from dealing with the country’s fiscal situation and revisit it in 2015 at around the same time as the Iowa straw polls. Without an incumbent in the presidential race, both political parties will be too busy to touch the budget, he said.

While some hailed the budget deal as a breakthrough in Washington’s political gridlock, Stockman compared the accord to “kicking the can” into “low Earth orbit.”

“There’s plenty of room, but they’re unwilling to make the tough choices,” he said. “Now, I understand Democrats doing that. The only hope of getting our fiscal situation under control is if the House Republicans stand up. And they’ve totally capitulated.”

The two-year deal averts deeper cuts to military spending, but Stockman said that’s where lawmakers should have looked for savings. The U.S. no longer faces threats from developed countries and has been “fired as the world’s policemen,” he said.

Any meaningful changes to the budget wouldn’t happen until nearly 2020 if lawmakers don’t address them now, he said. Washington still has a chance to duel over the debt ceiling this February, however, and over unemployment benefits in the shorter term.

Conservative Radio Talk Show Host Rush Limbaugh thinks that these Vichy Republicans are scared of another Shutdown:

The Republicans in Congress — and I would say that this is probably true of the Republicans in Washington. They are suffering shell shock.

They are not moved at all by Obama’s plummeting poll numbers. They are not moved at all by the problems people are having with Obamacare. They are in shell shock. I’ve described it as posttraumatic stress disorder. Whatever, they are literally afraid of one thing, and that is being blamed again for the government shutdown. That was the objective, to make sure there wasn’t a government shutdown, and it didn’t matter what was required.

If it meant funding Obamacare, which has happened, that’s what they’d do. It’s this simple. The Republicans didn’t like the idea of defunding Obamacare. They didn’t like the idea of a partial government shutdown. They’re living in a different world. They believe that the country despises and hates them.

They believe that Obama is still universally loved and adored and that there is nothing they can do to overcome that.

They think that anything that goes against Obama’s way is going to result in them being blamed, and it’s an election year next year, and they don’t want to get anywhere near another government shutdown. No matter the principle involved. No matter the issues involved. They just weren’t gonna go there. I’ve never seen anything like this. I have never seen this degree of shell shock or whatever else you want to call it.

…Preventing another shutdown is all that mattered. They really, to this minute, believe that they may have been irreparably harmed by being blamed for the shutdown a couple of months ago. They are paralyzed. The fear of what the media will say and do and report has them paralyzed. I think, in large part, that’s also why so many of them are talking about moving ahead with amnesty and so forth.

…they hate the idea of another partial government shutdown. They just do. It isn’t gonna happen no matter what, because they still haven’t gotten over what they think is being blamed for it. Most people don’t even remember. This is the thing. The disconnect with their own voters and base, I have never seen anything like it. They are so frightened of being blamed for another shutdown that they gave up parts of the sequester, which had been a hard line on spending.

I have some news from the Heartland for the Vichy Republicans who have politically barricaded themselves from the American citizens they are supposed to be serving:

They have good reason to be afraid. 2014 is close than they think. and given the way they are treating American Conservatives, 2014 is going to make the Political Massacre of 2010 seem like a co–ed pillow fight.

The Mid-Term Elections of 2014 are on their way to looking like the opening Battle Scenes in the movie “Gladiator” with Russell Crowe.

And guess what, Speaker Boehner? You ain’t Maximus and your fellow Vichy Republicans aren’t the victorious Roman Legionnaires.

I hope you guys have a trade to fall back on.

The Washington Meltdown: Dems Call for “Compromise”. Vichy Republicans Want to Surrender.

Cartoon-Cruz-Vs-Establishment-600The apparent 2016 Democrat Presidential Candidate, Former First Lady and personal friend of the late Vince Foster, Hillary Rodham Clinton, related the following story the other day…

We were in another one of these dramas in Washington — would we or would we not default on our debt? And all the business leaders wanted to talk to me about was, ‘was the United States going to default on its debt?’ And I kept saying, ‘Oh, of course not. We would never do that.’ And just hoping and praying that I was right.

What I saw, in that incident, was bewilderment. Like, how could the United States do that to itself? Especially countries that believe in our model, really cherish our values, want to be moving more toward our example.

Fast forward, this last time — as I talked to people around the world — there was a sense like, ‘if you guys can’t get your act together, we need to de-Americanize the world.’ Which was a phrase used by a high-ranking Chinese official. That is not good news for us. That is a very unfortunate conclusion.

So we have to pull ourselves together. We have to stand up, solve our problems. Everybody is not going to get everything they want. We have to get back to good old fashioned compromise and we have to make those decisions that reassure America’s leadership at home and abroad.

“De-Americanize the World”? That is absolutely hilarious, coming from the Chinese, who have, over the past decade, been turning themselves into a Communist Model of a Capitalist Country.

But, I digress…

Is it just me, or have y’all noticed the renewed cry for “Compromise” in the Halls of Power in Washington, DC?

And, the funny thing is, this renewed cry of “Can’t we all just get along” is coming when the President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm), has dropped to a very low 37% Job Approval Rate in National Polls, which are always composed to be weighted with more Democrat participants than Republicans.

Hence, the Former “First Mama’s” “Call for Compromise”, even while her Democrat brethren and sisters in the Senate dropped the Nuclear Option, taking away the right to filibuster in the Senate, as I reported yesterday.

If the Hildebeast was a physician, I would tell her to “heal thyself”. But, since she isn’t, she needs to just “heal”.

I find it quite funny and revealing that the Democrats are calling for “compromise”.

Heck, they always do when they realize that the things they want to do, are the exact opposite of the will of the majority of the American People….and those same citizens, who can fire their sorry rear-ends every 2 years, are beginning to rise up on their hind legs, like a lion about to drop a zebra on the Serengeti.

Look at the facts: As I just mentioned, you have a president whose Signature Legislation, quite frankly, Marxist in nature, is now opposed by 93% of the American People, and whose job approval rating is going down like the Titanic into the icy depths of oblivion.

The Democrats are calling for Compromise in an act of desperation, feverishly attempting to hold on to whatever power and, **cough** credibility they have left.

Now, as any average American with common sense, out here in the Heartland will tell you, when your opponent in a fight is about to land face-first on the ground after a knockout punch, you don’t hold him up and hit yourself in the face at the same time.

However, that is exactly what Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and the rest of the Vichy Republicans are doing.

Lacking any sense of self-preservation, these spineless Professional Politicians, while giving lip service to those who elected them in the Mid-Term Massacre of 2010, are still reaching across the aisle to their political opponents, offering them support and succor as one would a family member in their time of need.

At the same time, Mitch McConnell came out the other day, and called The Tea Party Movement, who gave the Republicans the House of Representatives in 2010, “a bunch of bullies”.

To quote the late , great Slim Pickens in “Blazing Saddles”,

What is the Wide, Wide World of Sports is a’goin’ on here?

And to pile on in the Vichy Republican Race to Extinction, House Speaker John Boehner, has proclaimed that they are “not through with Immigration Reform, yet”.

What is the matter with you guys? As we say down here in Dixie,

Are y’all just ate up with “The Stupid”?

I can’t hear the high-pitched whines of the young and dumb, and old and didactic Liberals out there, right now,

But, your President, Reagan, compromised, all the time!!! 1!1! Eleventy!!!

Why, yes, he did. But, 99.99% of the time,,,he got what HE wanted, in the first place…and usually, what the American People wanted. He did his job as the President.

Please compare and contrast to the no-compromise Petulant President who meanders his way into the Oval Office, Monday through Friday, around 10:00 a.m., and puts his feet on the Resolute desk.

If you believe that President Reagan would have allowed the Nuclear Option to have been dropped in the Senate during his lifetime, you probably still live in your Mom’s basement.

In the Real World, you negotiate from a position of strength, in order to achieve the goals you have set. You are prepared to give the perception of compromise, all the while, moving your opponent in the direction you want them to go, all the while keeping something in your hip pocket, to be used to your advantage.

Unfortunately, both the Democrats and the Vichy Republicans have construed the definition of “Compromise” to mean a surrender of Conservative ideals and Poltical Ideology, and an acceptance all Liberal Political Stances.

If this blatant, oblivious, self-serving stupidity of the part of both Political Parties continues, both Congress’ and Obama’s numbers are going to continue to tank.

And, the Mid-Term Election of 2010 will pale in comparison to 2014.

And, that will be a good thing.

Until He Comes,

KJ

As Obamacare Implodes, Obama Pivots to Amnesty

ibamaillegalimmigrationNow that President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) has “handled” the catastrophe known as the Launch of Obamacare by giving another speech, he has made one of his world-famous pivots to another one of the goals of his Presidency: amnesty for those who have broken the laws of our nation by entering our country illegally.

According to sources of thehill.com, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough met with business leaders and associations on Thursday afternoon to talk about how to handle the situation which they euphemistically refer to as “immigration reform”, i.e. creating new Democrat Voters.

The meeting with business and association leaders, including the Chamber of Commerce, comes hours after President Obama spoke on the hot-button issue at the White House. Attendees include Aric Newhouse, the senior vice president for policy and government relations at the National Association of Manufacturers and Bruce Josten, executive vice president for government affairs at the Chamber of Commerce.

It is unclear if Obama attended the meeting.

A White House official said the meeting is “intended to continue conversations with folks — inside and outside the government — supportive of advancing common-sense immigration reform. This is a top priority for the president and we’ll continue to do everything we can to get this done.”

Earlier in the day, Obama urged Congress to pass immigration reform and applied pressure to House Republicans, saying it was up to them “whether this becomes a reality or not.”

“This is not just an idea whose time has come; this is an idea whose time has been around for years now,” Obama said. “It’s good for our economy. It’s good for our national security. It’s good for our people, and we should do it this year.”

“This is the moment when we should be able to finally get the job done,” Obama said, before adding that “good policy is good politics in this instance.”

I have a hard time fathoming why the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has joined this battle on the side of the Administration, an Administration who wants to turn our capitalistic country into a socialist paradise. Is it because some of their more powerful member corporations need fresh, cheap labor?

I don’t know whether it is misguided altruism…or just plain ol’ avarice.

Either way, they have, quite deservedly, caught flack over their support of the Administration in this issue,.

If any Republican House Members join the gullible traitors in the Senate, like Rubio, McCain, and his pet dog, Graham, in voting for this “get out of jail FREE card”, I hope they have a trade to fall back on, Because, they will be primaried in 2014, and sent packing.

A couple of years back, the following allegorical story went viral.  You may have seen this already, but it explains illegal immigration as succinctly as anything I have come across:

Let’s pretend I broke into your house.  When you discover me there, you insist I leave.  But I say, “I’ve made all the beds, washed the dishes, did the laundry, and cleaned the floors; I’ve done all the work you don’t like to do. I’m hardworking and honest (except for breaking into your house). Not only must you let me stay, you must also add me to your insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide these benefits to my husband, too (he will do your yardwork, he’s honest and hardworking too–except for that breaking in part). If you try to force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house and proclaim my right to be there! It’s only fair, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I’m trying to better myself. I’m hardworking and honest…except for, well, you know. I will live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness and prejudice.

Oh yeah, I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me.

Good plan..don’t you think?

I understand that people want a better life for themselves and their children.  We are all immigrants in this land, except for American Indians, and they got here by crossing the Bering Straight.  But there is a huge difference between immigrating here legally and sneaking in illegally, between assimilating into an existing culture, and insisting on replacing a country’s existing culture with that of the country you left.

Former Texas Democratic Representative Barbara Jordan was a big believer in assimilation. During her time on Capitol Hill, she chaired the US Commission on Immigration Reform.

In their 1997 Report, which they dedicated to Rep. Jordan, published after her passing, they wrote the following principles:

We believe these truths constitute the distinctive characteristics of American nationality:

*American unity depends upon a widely held belief in the principles and values embodied in the American Constitution and their fulfillment in practice: equal protection and justice under the law; freedom of speech and religion; and representative government;

*Lawfully admitted newcomers of any ancestral nationality—without regard to race, ethnicity, or religion—truly become Americans when they give allegiance to these principles and values;

*Ethnic and religious diversity based on personal freedom is compatible with national unity; and

*The nation is strengthened when those who live in it communicate effectively with each other in English, even as many persons retain or acquire the ability to communicate in other languages.

As long as we live by these principles and help newcomers to learn and practice them, we will continue to be a nation that benefits from substantial but well-regulated immigration.

The great Michelle Malkin added,

Those principles have been abandoned, scorned, and sabotaged. You have not heard an iota about them from Washington. It is the erosion of Americanization and the ascendancy of the collectivists that helped create the conditions for Election Day.

Amnesty instead of assimilation is a recipe for even greater GOP losses at the ballot box.

Amnesty instead of assimilation is a recipe for the furtherance of American decline.

Make no mistake. The motives of the politicians who are pushing for amnesty are strictly self-serving. They believe that they can “buy” the votes of illegal aliens.

The Vichy Republicans are once again going against the wishes of the Conservative Base. They are hoping to replace us with these “new citizens”.

They are going to be severely disappointed. Illegal aliens are already gaming our system. What makes the Vichy Republicans believe that they will not give them the shaft, as well?

I’m all for assisting anyone in becoming a legal citizen of the United States, if that is their wish.  But, it must be done the right way, and they must accept responsibility for their illegal entry, show a willingness to learn our language, and embrace our American way of life, including respecting the American Flag.

You cannot buy Patriotism.

The Shutdown: The Surrender of the GOP Elite

Republicans Vs. Tea PartyUnited we stand, Divided we fall. – Aesop

As my mind began to attempt to wrap itself around the sorry events of yesterday, the ancient saying above, came to mind.

I was going to say that no other words describe the present-day Republican Party as well, but, that would be wrong. I can think of several words to describe the Republican Establishment, or Vichy Republicans, as I dubbed them, a while back. However, forbearance precludes me from using those words, lest I “lose my witness”. (That’s a Southern Evangelical thang, y’all. Ask somebody.)

The Republican Party, itself, is right on the verge of a Civil War. You have the Vichy Republicans, the Moderate Republican Elite, who firmly believe that they speak for all Republicans, even though most of them have been up on Capital Hill so long, their chauffeur has to use a Garmin GPS to find their way back to their constituency. (Pardon me…but do you have any Gray Poupon?)

Opposing the Vichy Republicans are the Tea Party, or Reagan, Republicans. These are public servants who were elected on the promise to cut government spending, and shrink the size of the Federal Government, while opposing the policies of President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) at every turn. The Tea Party Republicans are Conservatives who were placed in office during the Great Purge, otherwise known as the Mid-Term Elections of 2010.

They were, of course, named for the Grassroots Movement who put them in office.

As opposed to the Vichy Republicans, they truly seem to be down-to-earth individuals, with a servant’s heart, as was proven recently by Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz’s speaking to the Veterans last weekend, during their March on Washington, along with their gracious supporter, Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin.

As a result of their popularity and attempts to go to Washington and get something done, the Tea Party Republicans have been vilified during the entire Government Shutdown Ordeal, by the Democrats, the Main Stream Media, and the Vichy Republicans.

The Vichy Republicans have responded to the Tea Party Republicans, as if they are jealous of and embarrassed by the zealousness and popularity of these political “newcomers”, who have stolen their thunder. These “do-gooders” cramp their style and disrupt the Washingtonian Status Quo.

Sen. Ted Cruz has been their biggest target, as his charisma and common sense have made him one of the Tea Party Movements favorite politicians. Just as Sarah Palin before him, he is being called everything but a child of God

Every since his “Not-a-Filibuster” against Obamacare, leading up to the Government Shutdown, the MSM, the Democrats, and the Vichy Republicans have formed a new “Axis” (to borrow a World War II term) , launching a smear campaign against the Senator From Texas, who dares to call them out, concerning their nefarious duplicity and political maneuvering.

It’s high time someone did.

As Former Representative, Lt. Col. Allen West (another Tea Party Favorite) observed yesterday,

I’m watching the spectacle occurring on the Senate floor. They have passed the 60 vote threshold for ending cloture. I want the American people to understand that tonight the Constitutional Republic we know as America has suffered a horrible defeat. Obamacare is not the law of the land. It is an edict handed down by a tyrant, not a President. The US Senate has just voted to affirm a new precedent that the executive branch can amend law without Congressional approval, and Congress allows it. The waivers, exemptions, and delays implemented by President Obama have delineated a separation, not of powers, but between the political elite and their cronies – and you, my fellow Americans. This is reprehensible, and we can expect even more bad behavior from a President that continues to spit on our Constitution and in our eyes…and smile. The incessant government spending continues with no solution for economic growth. Anyone voting for this tonight owes some explaining to Americans….but maybe not. As Obama stated, “I won.”

After Lt. Col. West watched that spectacle, he was treated to another, as the House of Representatives, led by the Spelunker of the House,  Cryin’ John Boehner, passed the Senate Bill, completing the capitulation, and another sell-out of the Republican Party’s Conservative Base.

The problem with all of the old Vichy Republicans, is the fact that they have been up on Capital Hill so long, the lines between ethical and unethical, and public-serving behavior and self-serving behavior, in their minds, have become blurred.

For instance, within Sen. McConnell/Sen. Reid’s bill,, it has been discovered that the bill includes a nearly $3 billion earmark for a Kentucky project.

Language in a draft of the McConnell-Reid deal (see page 13, section 123)shows a provision that increases funding for the massive Olmsted Dam Lock in Paducah, Ky., from $775 million to nearly $2.9 billion.

Nothing like a little pork to insure your re-election by the home folks, huh, Sen. McConnell?

It seems to me that the Republican Establishment have reacted to the resurgence of the Tea Party Republicans, like, excuse the expression, a bunch of cockroaches in the kitchen, scurrying for cover when the lights got turned on them.

When they regrouped from the initial shock, they became even more determined that no one, and I mean, no one, would disrupt “business as usual” in Washington, DC. Not Cruz, Lee, Palin, West, or any of us “smelly” Conservatives, living in America’s Heartland.

This obstinate “smartest people in the room” conceit, led directly to the spectacle that Lt. Col. West and the rest of us watched  yesterday.

The last time people saw something like that, was when the French Soldiers, defending their country from the German Invasion in World War II, dropped their rifles, and ran like scalded dogs.

Same thing.

The Republican Civil War Over Obamacare: Conservatives Vs. the Vichy Republicans

Cartoon-Cruz-Vs-Establishment-600Just a few days away from the end of the greatest Healthcare System in the World, the grizzled veterans of the Grand Old Party are acting like a bunch of children who got beat on the playground in a kickball game, and who now want to take their ball and go home.

Fox News reports that

Republican tensions grew Thursday as Tea Party-aligned senators rejected a bid to speed up the vote on a bill to fund the government while defunding ObamaCare, with one senior lawmaker accusing his colleagues of posturing — as the chances of a government shutdown increased.

The flurry of activity occurred late Thursday afternoon on the Senate floor. With lawmakers facing a Sept. 30 deadline to pass a spending bill, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid tried to get approval to hold key votes on Thursday, in order to give the House more time to consider the legislation.

But Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, objected, along with Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas. That puts off the next vote until Friday.

Their complaints prompted a tense encounter on the floor with Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., who suggested the only reason they want to wait until Friday is because they want to turn the vote into a show for supporters.

“This is confusing to me,” Corker said. “I’m understanding the reason we’re waiting is that y’all have sent out releases and emails and you want everybody to be able to watch. It just doesn’t seem to me that that’s in our nation’s interest.”

Cruz later said: “I think it is unfortunate that any member of the United States Senate should want our votes to occur outside of the view of the American people.”

The brief dispute underscored the divide in the GOP over this vote.

The bill itself, passed by the House last week, would keep the government open past Sept. 30 and defund the health care law. Senators like Cruz, who spoke for more than 21 hours on the Senate floor in opposition to ObamaCare, support this language.

However, Cruz and others plan to oppose the test vote on Friday — because they say Reid, as his next step, will strip out the ObamaCare provision and promptly send the bill back to the House.

They argue that anybody who votes to advance the bill on Friday is effectively voting to restore funding to the health law.

Other Republicans argue that this position is counterintuitive, and have indicated support for the upcoming vote.

This has led to some nasty infighting.

Now, I know that I’m just an average American, but, it appears to me that the members of the Republican Establishment are both embarrassed by and jealous of the massive public support for Ted Cruz and the rest of the Conservative Republicans.

Now is not the time for whiny divisiveness, as Conservative Pundit Patrick J. Buchanan points out…

…The Republican war over whether to bow to the seemingly inevitable and fund Obamacare is a Panama Canal issue. How one votes here may decisively affect one’s career.

Ted Cruz may have, as Richard Nixon used to say, “broken his pick” in the Republican caucus. Yet, on Obamacare, his analysis is right, his instincts are right, his disposition to fight is right.

These are more important matters than the news that he is out of the running for the Mr. Congeniality award on Capitol Hill.

If Obamacare is funded, the subsidies starting in January will constitute a morphine drip from which America’s health-care system will not recover. If not stopped now, Obamacare is forever.

Senate Republicans should be asking themselves why Cruz and Rand Paul, two newcomers to the Senate of decidedly different temperaments, are being talked of as credible candidates in the presidential primaries of 2016.

Answer: Both are clear in their convictions, unapologetic about them and willing to break some china to achieve them. And that part of America upon which the GOP depends most is increasingly frustrated and angry with those who run the national party.

Americans don’t want a dignified surrender on Obamacare. They want someone to drive a stake through Obamacare.

And the question that is going to be answered in coming weeks is: Is the GOP willing to shove its whole stack into the middle of the table, for a showdown over Obamacare? Or will the House GOP in the end cast the decisive vote to make Obamacare permanent?

For, as columnist Terry Jeffrey writes, “[M]ake no mistake. If Obamacare is funded and implemented, it will be because Republican members of Congress decided to do it.”

As Terry notes, Congress has absolute power over the public purse. Article I of the Constitution says, “No money shall be drawn from the Treasury but in consequence of appropriations made by law.”

The law authorizing President Obama to spend more money for Obamacare expires Sept. 30. If the House refuses to vote for any bill that contains new Obamacare funding, Obamacare is dead.

Thus the Republican House controls the fate of Obamacare.

But if we don’t fund Obamacare, comes the Republican wail, Harry Reid will let the government shut down, the American people will blame us, and all of our pundits say we can’t win this fight.

For sure you cannot win if you do not fight.

Right on. Right on.

However, the Vichy Republicans, as I dubbed them a while back, would rather reach across the aisle, and give up any Republican ideals they may possess, than be actual public servants, instead of self-serving mountebanks.

They are beclowning themselves, in their missionary zeal to appear to be “statesmen” and to “go along to get along”

Their desire for protocol and “statesmanship”, has trumped any desire of the Republican Elite to actually stand on principles and fight the socialization of the greatest Healthcare System on the face of the Earth.

And, for that, they should be embarrassed.

The Syria Situation: Time to Put “The Maverick” Out to Pasture

McCainObamaJohn McCain, the Republican Party’s ill-advised 2008 Presidential Candidate, has become the Poster Boy for Senility.

As America stands on the precipice of Word War III, “Maverick” is prancing around like a show pony, for President Barack Hussein Obama, and an all-too-willing dhimmi for the Muslim Brotherhood and their off-shoot, al Qaeda.

Yesterday morning, Senator McCain made the suggestion that Fox and Friend’s Brian Kilmeade was Islamophobic. Kilmeade had informed McCain that Radical Islamists had shouted “Allahu Akbar” as their rockets hit government offices in Syria.

“I have a problem helping those people screaming that after a hit,” Kilmeade said. McCain responded: “Would you have a problem with an American or Christians saying ‘thank God? Thank God?’” He added, “That’s what they’re saying. Come on! Of course they’re Muslims, but they’re moderates and I guarantee you they are moderates.” McCain provided no evidence to suggest that Syrian opposition groups are moderate, as opposed to the wide swath of evidence suggesting that the opposition is heavily infested with al Qaeda.

Al Qaeda…Moderates? Are you kiddin’ .me?

Per pjmedia.com…

One of the English translators of the great 14th century Muslim jurist (d. 1350) Ibn Qayyim’s “The Way to Patience and Gratitude” opts for “Allah is Greater” as the specific translation of Allahu Akbar. On page 463, the following explanation is provided:

…I preferred using “the Greater” to “the Greatest”… Allahu Akbar literally means, “Allah is Greater” with the comparative mode. Yet, this does not mean that He (Glory be to Him) is not the Greatest, nor does it mean that there is anything that is put in comparison with Him. This is because when the Muslim says it, he means He is “Greater” than anything else, which, consequently, means He is the Greatest. This use gives more influence. This may be why it is used in Arabic this way, otherwise it should have been used as “Allahu al-Akbar”, in the superlative mode. Surely, Allah Knows best.

“Allahu Akbar” is heard every time a Muslim Terrorist commits an act of violence.

After 9/11, the FBI released a letter reportedly handwritten by the hijackers and found in three separate copies on 9/11—at Dulles, at the Pennsylvania crash site, and in Mohamed Atta’s suitcase. It included a checklist of final reminders for the 9/11 hijackers. An excerpt reads: “When the confrontation begins, strike like champions who do not want to go back to this world. Shout, ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers.”

When in March 2002 Maryam Mohammad Yousif Farhat of Hamas, popularized as “Umm Nidal” (and subsequently elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council) learned that her 17-year-old son had been killed on a suicide mission in which he killed five teenagers, she celebrated by proclaiming “Allahu Akbar!” and giving out boxes of halva and chocolates. In 2003, when Imam Samudra became the second Bali bomber from a violent Islamist group to be sentenced to death for his role in the 2002 Bali bombings that killed 202 people, Samudra greeted his sentence with chants of “Allahu Akbar”.

In 2004, in an execution video of Nick Berg being beheaded in Iraq, as one man sawed off Berg’s head the other captors shouted: “Allahu Akbar!”. And in the 2007 Fort Dix attack plot, a group of radical Islamists who were convicted of plotting an attack on the Fort Dix military base in New Jersey had videotaped themselves shooting weapons and shouting Allahu Akbar. In 2008, Aafia Siddiqui yelled “Allah Akbar” as she allegedly fired at U.S. interrogators.

During the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, witnesses reported that gunman Nidal Malik Hasan shouted “Allahu Akbar” before opening fire, killing 13 people and wounding 30 others. And Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad smiled and said “Allahu Akbar” after receiving a life sentence in 2010 for his attempted bombing.

During the incident aboard American Airlines Flight 1561, the person attempting to bash his way into the cockpit was heard shouting “Allahu Akbar”. Mohammed Merah recorded himself shouting Allahu Akbar as he killed three French paratroopers in the 2012 Midi-Pyrénées shootings.

Senator, you sure don’t hear Christians running around screaming “Thank God!” as they are blowing themselves up and killing people, do you?

I know that you had a long day yesterday, Maverick, but shouldn’t you have been paying attention to the Senate Hearings concerning  going to war, err. I mean having a “limited engagement” with Syria? I mean, after all, that’s your job, isn’t it?

Senility is a horrible thing.

Why on earth are you supporting intervening in Syria, on behalf of a bunch of Muslim Terrorists, John?

Perhaps…you are just repaying them for their support.

Back in 2008, the BBC reported that

Supporters of al-Qaeda have said they would prefer Republican candidate John McCain to win the US election because he is more likely to continue the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In a message broadcast on the password-protected al-Hesbah site, the group said they would also welcome a pre-election terror attack on the US because that would make a McCain win more likely.

In an endorsement that will not be welcomed by Mr McCain’s flagging campaign, the group said that if al-Qaeda wants to exhaust the US, militarily and economically, the “impetuous” Republican presidential candidate is the better choice.

“This requires presence of an impetuous American leader such as McCain, who pledged to continue the war till the last American soldier,” the message said.

“Then, al-Qaeda will have to support McCain in the coming elections so that he continues the failing march of his predecessor, Bush.”

“If al-Qaeda carries out a big operation against American interests,” it said, “this act will be support of McCain because it will push the Americans deliberately to vote for McCain so that he takes revenge for them against al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda then will succeed in exhausting America till its last year in it.”

Mark Salter, a senior McCain adviser, had no immediate comment.

As an official “Wacko Bird”, i.e., Conservative, I would like to say that Progressive Republicans, like John McCain, and his pet dog, Lindsey Graham, are one of the reasons that Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) is the President of these United States.

Not only are Progressive Republicans, like “The Sunshine Boys”, and Obama’s golfing buddy, Cryin’ John Boehner, weak and ineffectual, if they had any tes…err…intestinal fortitude whatsoever, that would be jumping on America’s scandal-ridden Administration with both feet. Instead, they’re acting like the wussified Country Club Elite that they are…whether they are reaching across the aisle to intervene on behalf of these Syrian [al Qaeda] Rebels or trying to pass “Immigration Reform”, which will do nothing but add new Democratic Voters to the rolls.

It’s getting more and more difficult to tell the Republican Leadership from the Democratic Leadership.

Straight talk, from Conservative American Leaders like Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, and Lt. Col. Allen West, is what America needs to hear, not rhetoric about “America’s responsibility to bomb Assad”, “sharing the wealth” or “social justice”. And, we especially do not need for Vichy Republicans like Juan McAmnesty to continue sucking up to our enemies, foreign and domestic.

The resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC is doing more than enough of that, all by himself.

Amnesty and the Economy: A Juan Valdez Overload

ibamaillegalimmigrationSo, how that Hopey-Changey Thingy workin’ out for ya?

Gallup.com reports that

Americans’ confidence in the economy in July was the lowest it has been in any month since April. Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index slipped to -12 last month, down from -8 in June and -7 in May — with the May reading representing the most positive monthly average since Gallup began tracking economic confidence daily in 2008. Still, consumers’ confidence remains higher than the -16 reading in March — the lowest monthly score this year — which encompassed the public’s reaction to the automatic budget cuts that took effect as part of sequestration.

Also, according to Gallup, 35% of Americans say that Economic Conditions are Poor, Only 19% of Americans believe that Economic Conditions are Good. 42% of Americans believe that things are getting better. 53% of us believe that things are still in their descent down the ol’ porcelain receptacle.

Meanwhile, out on Martha’s Vineyard, our Slacker-in Chief invited the Press to watching him play around of golf…AFTER he had the First Dog, Bo, airlifted, all by his lonesome, via helicopter to join the rest of the family on vacation…the Obamas’ SIXTH Luxury Vacation of the year.

So, while the majority of working class Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck, the Obamas and the rest of the New Aristocracy, are living the High Life in their Beltway Bubble, up on their own “Mount Olympus”,

And, like the gods of old, they “know what’s best” for us mere mortals.

These Omnipotent Olympians actually claim that AMNESTY will help America’s Economic Plight.

Recently, brilliant American Economist and Political Pundit, Dr. Thomas Sowell, was interview by Laura Ingraham, on her syndicated radio program. Here is what he had to say about Amnesty and the Economy:

That’s incredible. I mean —first of all to an economist, it is incredible to speak about shortages without talking about prices, in this case wages…You know there, there have been so many predictions of shortages of so many occupations and the shortages don’t materialize. And why not? Because if there is a shortage, the wage rate goes up. That attracts in more people and lo and behold, the jobs are filled.

In agriculture, the farmers would obviously prefer to get workers who get low pay rather than workers they have to pay a higher wage. And as long as there are an unlimited supply of farm workers coming in from Mexico, they will never have to raise the wages very much. They say Americans won’t do these jobs. These are jobs Americans have done for generations, if not centuries. And it’s a time when millions of Americans are out of work, and are looking for any kind of work. And so this is utter nonsense.

…They constantly talk about immigrants in the abstract. You know, there are no such thing as abstract immigrants. There are immigrants from country a, b, c, d. They are radically different. People coming in from some countries almost never go on welfare. Immigrants coming in from other countries go on welfare to a great extent. If we’re going to have a rational immigration policy, then we have to be able to decide what people, what countries, what occupations — things like that, instead of rushing everything through.

The other main thing though is that if we don’t control the borders, we don’t have an immigration policy because regardless of what policy you put on paper, if people can just walk across the border when they darn well please, then your policy means nothing. The other thing that bothers me is the Republicans seem to think we will give — illegal immigrants citizenship if they do a, b or c. Democrats say x, y and z. I don’t know why we need promise anybody citizenship before we get control of the borders and have time to sit down and think and look at the facts, and then try to draw up some rational policy.

Dr. Sowell, sir, I believe that Rationality and the New Aristocracy, including the Vichy Republicans, took divergent paths a long time ago.

All weekend long, Drudge has been reporting that the Democrats claim to have enough Republican votes in the house to push through a “Path to Citizenship” Law, or AMNESTY.

My concerns about this whole “Path to Citizenship” business, can be divided into four bullet points. (Hey, I’m a VP of Marketing. What do you expect?)

1. Patriotism – Will these new “citizens” be willing to fly our flag above theirs? Will they be willing, if called upon, to serve in our Armed Forces, at home or abroad? Will they love this country, more than the one they left?

2. Loyalty – When these “new Americans” achieve the right to vote, are they all going to vote Democrat, so that they can receive more FREE STUFF? Is the Republican Party shooting themselves in both feet by pushing an outcome which will simply add new Democratic Voters? As I asked in the first point, will they honestly embrace our sovereign nation as their new home? Or, will they remain loyal to Mexico?

3.  Immigration – Are we rewarding illegal behavior, while at the same time, insulting all of the brave souls who have come here legally, seeking a better life for themselves and their families?

4. Economy – Our anorexoc economy cannot afford to take on more “tradesmen” and/or unskilled laborers. What we need are more entrepreneurs and business executives.

I’m all for assisting anyone in becoming a legal citizen of the United States, if that is their wish.  But, it must be done the right way, and they must accept responsibility for their illegal entry, show a willingness to learn our language, and embrace our American way of life, including respecting the American Flag.

So, let’s take this one step at a time.  Secure our borders.  Enforce the anti-illegal immigration laws.  And if the Federal Government won’t, the states, like Arizona, will have to pass their own laws.  America became a great nation because it is a melting pot of American-born and legally-immigrated citizens with a shared allegiance, not a multi-cultural United Nations with everyone loyal to their home country.

A wide-open Southern Border is as big a threat to the sovereignty of the United States as anything that our enemies can throw at us right now.  All of OUR SERVANTS, up on Capitol HIll, need to quit playing political games.  The safety of America is at stake .  SECURE THE BORDER NOW.

Ohh…and, one last thing…ATTN House Republicans! If you vote for Amnesty, I hope you have a trade to fall back on., because AMERICANS will fire you as soon as possible.

Until He Comes,

KJ

Obama and the Vichy Republicans

McCainObamaNews came out yesterday, that President Barack Hussein Obama’s (mm mmm mmmm) popularity had dropped to 41% in the polls. Now, just when Americans are finally waking up to the Manchurian President, he is about to be bailed out…by the “Maverick” and his merry band of Vichy Republicans.

“We have been looking literally for years for someone we can cut deals with, and finally someone has stepped up,” a White House official said. West Wing aides say they now talk with McCain roughly every other day.

McCain, to hear fellow Republicans tell it, has finally found The Two he has needed to make such conversations worth the bother: Sen. Chuck Schumer, a Democrat who can actually get things done in the Senate, and Denis McDonough, a White House chief of staff who actually cares what senators say and think and do.

While Obama and party leaders clash endlessly and hopelessly, these three men are showing it is possible to put aside political and personal grievances to get consequential stuff done, even in Washington’s currently twisted state.

They would never say it this way, but more often than not, they do it by going around those party leaders — their bosses — who seem stuck in fights they will never be able to end.

This new alliance has resulted in an immigration bill and a deal to avoid the nuclear option for confirming nominees, and is in preliminary conversations to avert a government shutdown over the budget. It has created trust — tenuous but real — among these three officials (and others) who can deliver results.

The House no doubt will kill most or all of their compromises. But three men from the three power centers talking, much less agreeing, is something this city hasn’t seen in the Obama years.

The return of McCain the Maverick rankles many Republicans, but he can reliably count on seven to 10 GOP senators to back him, including Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee.

Isn’t it nice to know that we can always count on good ol’ Maverick and his pet dog, Grahamnesty to stab us in the back, y’all?

But wait, they’re not the only members of the Vichy Republican Brigade…There is their Fearless Leader, Mr. Speaker. But, hey, at least the Libs over at slate.com speak of Cryin’ John in glowing terms…

In an interview on “Face the Nation” on Sunday, Boehner said his job was not to dictate to Republican members what legislation they should support but merely to “facilitate” a process where they found their own outcome. He didn’t dare offer an opinion about comprehensive immigration reform because it would interfere. “It’s not about me,” the speaker told Bob Schieffer. “It’s not about what I want. What I’ve committed to, when I became speaker, was to a more open and fair process. And as difficult as this issue is, me taking a hard position for or against some of these issues will make it harder for us to get a bill … If I come out and say, ‘I’m for this’ and ‘I’m for that,’ all I’m doing is making my job harder.”

…Boehner’s constraints are self-imposed. He could make a deal with Democrats to pass immigration reform, and he has done that before on the fiscal cliff deal, the Violence Against Women Act, and Hurricane Sandy relief funding. But those issues were not as volatile in Republican ranks as immigration and did not risk a conservative crack-up. If he cut a deal, would he lose his speakership? There would have to be a viable alternative candidate who wanted to herd the cats. But even if he retained the job, that kind of crack-up would make passing bills, which will require cajoling the same conservatives, that much harder.

There has been a lot of speculation on whether Boehner will stick to the so-called Hastert Rule, allowing no bill to come to the floor unless it can pass with a majority of the majority. He has said he will not break this promise. That may be his heart’s true desire, but we can’t really know right now. Boehner understands that the more Democrats think he needs them for passage of a comprehensive bill, the more they’ll demand from him. So even if Boehner were planning on passing immigration reform with a minority of his party, he will maintain his firm stance on the Hastert Rule until the very last minute.

In the end, the question is not whether John Boehner is a leader. He is—he’s just a leader with modest ambitions. In the study of House speakers, the debate splits along lines familiar to presidential observers. Presidents are either “at liberty … to be as big a man as he can,” as Woodrow Wilson wrote when he was a Princeton political science professor. Or presidents are circumscribed by the political conditions they face, as Wilson discovered when he actually had the job. In congressional studies, the split is over whether a speaker is merely an agent carrying out the will of his conference or whether a powerful speaker can make his own weather.

At a time when the current president is going down in flames, instead of roasting marshmallows over the bonfire, Vichy Republicans are “reaching across the aisle” to help save the Prevaricator-in-Chief.

These RINOs are so consumed by their avarice and quest to be just like their Democratic allies, that they have forgotten why they were elected in the first place. If their constituents had wanted to elect Democrats, they would have pulled the lever marked “DEMOCRAT”.

It’s time for Maverick, Grahamnesty, Cryin’ John, and the rest of the GOP Elite girly-men to put their big boy pants on, and do the job they were elected to do: work for the betterment of this country, not for its destruction at the hands of Barack Hussein Obama. He’s doing fine with that…all by his lonesome.

And, as I’ve said before, if the Vichy Republicans think that the new “Americans” they’re creating will actually vote for them, replacing us worrisome members of the Conservative Base, I have two bridges over the Mississippi River at Memphisa to sell them.

And, in the spirit of the nickname I’ve given them, and the courage they are showing, I will throw in two French Rifles from World War II….dropped once…never fired.

Al-Qaeda Supports McCain in 2008, Syrian Rebels Pledge Loyalty to al-Qaeda in April, McCain Visits Syrian Rebels on Memorial Day.

johnmccainSenator John McCain (R-AZ), spent his Memorial Day in Syria, visiting with the Rebel Forces there.

Isn’t Progressivism wonderful?

From thehill.com:

According to the Daily Beast, which first reported the visit, McCain met with Gen. Salem Idris, the leader of the Supreme Military Council of the Free Syrian Army, and spent a few hours in the country after entering through Turkey.

McCain, a leading critic of the Obama administration’s policy towards Syria, has been calling for the U.S. to provide lethal aid to opposition forces seeking the ouster of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The administration has resisted calls from lawmakers to arm the rebels over fears those weapons could fall into the hands of Islamist or anti-U.S. elements. Many Syrian rebel groups have been linked to al Qaeda and other terrorist groups.

Last week, however, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved a bill to arm the Syrian opposition, a bipartisan rebuke to the White House.

Supporters of the measure say it is necessary to help end a conflict which has already claimed 80,000 lives, according to some estimates.

The White House, though, has continued to focus on a diplomatic solution to ease Assad from power.

There is just one problem with arming these “Freedom Fighters”. It’s the same “problem” that we faced in Libya.

BBC.co.uk reported the following on April 10th…

The leader of the al-Nusra Front, a jihadist group fighting in Syria, has pledged allegiance to the leader of al-Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Abu Mohammed al-Jawlani said the group’s behaviour in Syria would not change as a result.

Al-Nusra claims to be have carried out many suicide bombings and guerrilla attacks against state targets.

On Tuesday, al-Qaeda in Iraq announced a merger with al-Nusra, but Mr Jawlani said he had not been consulted on this.

Al-Nusra has been designated as a terrorist organisation by the US.

Debates among Western leaders over whether to arm Syria’s rebels have often raised the concern of weapons ending up in the hands of groups such as al-Nusra.

“The sons of al-Nusra Front pledge allegiance to Sheikh Ayman al-Zawahiri,” Mr Jawlani said in a recording released on Wednesday.

But Mr Jawlani said al-Nusra had not been consulted on the merger with al-Qaeda in Iraq and insisted his group would not change its stance in Syria.

The al-Nusra statement assured Syrians that the “good behaviour” they had experienced from the front on the ground would continue unchanged, the BBC’s Jim Muir reports from neighbouring Lebanon.

Mr Jawlani said that the oath of allegiance to Zawahiri “will not change anything in its policies”, our correspondent adds.

But, wait…there’s more.  It turns out, that, per the BBC, that Juan McAmnesty, by supporting the al-Qaeda-sponsored Syrian Rebels…was just returning the favor:

It’s getting more and more difficult to tell the Republican Leadership from the Democratic Leadership.

Thank the Lord for Conservative Americans like Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin.

Speaking at this year’s Hillsdale College Graduation Commencement, Sen. Cruz said,

…more and more government is not the answer. To say otherwise is to ignore the fact that all major European nations have higher levels of public spending than the United States does, and that all of them are poorer. Human beings are not happiest when they’re taken care of by the state. Areas under the yoke of dependency on government are among the least joyish parts of our society. The story of Julia is not an attractive utopia. We all flourish instead when afforded opportunity, the ability to work and create and accomplish. Economic growth and opportunity is the answer that works.

Sarah Palin, posted on her Facebook Page yesterday, that…

Our military men and women risk their lives to uphold our rights. They deserve better than to have their sacrifice trampled on by people who pretend to have heard nothing, seen nothing, and therefore can say nothing about abusing their power over We the People. Americans deserve better. Certainly our military veterans’ honor deserves better. (By the way, pleading the Fifth while showing no regard for the First is as bold an exercise in adding insult to injury as I have ever seen.)

It is time to declare, “Enough is enough.” It’s time to halt the fundamental transformation of the country our soldiers have given all to preserve.

Straight talk, from Conservative American Leaders like these, is what America needs to hear, not rhetoric about “sharing the wealth” and “social justice”. And, we especially do not need for Vichy Republicans like Juan McAmnesty to continue sucking up to our enemies, foreign and domestic.
