Charleston’ s Aftermath: The Purposeful Marginalization of the South

Charleston Confederate FlagPick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.) – Rule 12, Saul Alinsky ‘ s “Rules For Radicals

Yesterday, while I was about and about, performing the duties of my real job, the Godfather of Conservative Talk Radio, Rush Limbaugh, made the following observation…

This effort to have the battle flag of northern Virginia removed is really an attempt to segregate and isolate the entire South and to sort of Alinsky it. You know, the Rules for Radicals, you seek the target, you isolate it, you attack it, humiliate it. This flag represents what the left believes is the last remaining Republican electoral stronghold in terms of presidential politics, and that would be the South. So this is an effort going far beyond the Confederate flag or the battle flag of the army of northern Virginia.

This flag represents to the left a symbol of everything that’s wrong with not just South Carolina, but North Carolina, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, you name it. And that’s what the objective here really is. And that’s why when Republicans make these efforts to appease, to please, and even if they think they’re doing the right thing, it never is enough, and it’s never genuine, and it’s never accepted, or very rarely is it accepted. Very rarely do the Republicans seeking to gain political points with their opponents or their enemies actually pull that off by acceding to their demands.

So just keep a sharp eye on this because you’ll see, even after the flag comes down, it’s not gonna be the end of this. After the flag comes down, after the flag is removed, you’re gonna continue to hear what it stands for, what it stood for, how rotten it is and how even though it’s gone, you can bet they will report that Southerners all across this country in heart and in mind and even geographically will be displaying the flag in their homes and on their cars with bumper stickers and so forth. Just keep a sharp eye. ‘Cause I’m telling you the flag is a symbol and it’s a symbol to the left, and it represents a far more wide reaching objective than just getting the flag removed from public view.

You got Walmart saying: We’re not gonna sell any flag, Confederate flag merchandise anymore. We’re not gonna sell anything that offends anybody. Okay. Well, that’s an open invitation to the left to go out and claim that anything that they don’t like in Walmart that represents Republicanism, conservatism could offend them. You wait, folks. I mean, we’ve been trending in this direction for years now. This is really nothing new.

The point that Rush made yesterday is, as usual, spot on.

In every single presidential election, since I first voted for Future President Ronald Reagan in November of 1980, the voters of the South have proven to be the linchpin upon which all presidential candidates’ victory depended upon.

If you were able, as a Democrat or a Republican, to get the voters of the South to cast their ballots for you, you became the President of the United States of America.

The South, to this day, remains essential to winning the White House.

The Liberals in the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, alike, or the Vichy Republicans, as I call them, are all too aware of this political fact.

However, those who believe that the South, in the Year of Our Lord 2015, is still backwards, or somehow inferior to their point of view, or political ideology, have jumped at the effort to negate a period of our history in which American blood on both sides of the Mason-Dixon line was shed in combat.

Why, have these liberal politicians shifted the focus of the nation away from the mental illness of the sociopath who gunned down 9 innocent Christians at a Wednesday Night Church Service, shifting our  country’s attention, instead, to the perceived offensive nature of the Battle Flag of the Army of Virginia?

Simple: Political Expediency.

By marginalizing the South through this effort, American Liberals, from President Barack Hussein Obama on down the line, are hoping to diminish and possibly negate the leverage that Southern States have in molding the Political Landscape of America.

Even after 6 plus years under a Far Left President, America is still a Center-Right Nation.

Through their efforts to make an inanimate object responsible for the death of the Pastor and 8 members of Emanuel AME Church, these politicians and their minions hope to swing the Political Pendulum toward their side of the Political Aisle.

They know that, if somehow, they can place the Southern States in a “bad light” and at a Political Disadvantage, that perhaps our voice in the political affairs of this nation, will not carry as much weight.

Plus, between you and me and the water cooler, Liberals in the Northern and Western States remain ticked off that both American and International Businesses are still relocating to the South, where the climate is friendlier, the Unions have not made the cost of doing business unprofitable, and, where Old-Fashioned American Work Ethic still exists.

Just sayin’.

But, I digress.

The Alinsky-approved Tactics, currently being employed by Barack Obama and his Liberal minions on both sides of the aisle, are giving them, at best, a temporary victory.

This effort against the Stars and Bars, while incendiary and pyrrhic in nature, has the lasting effect of a bottle rocket.

The thing about attempting to rewrite and ignore history, is the fact that Liberals have no power over it.

It has already happened.

And, they are powerless to change it.

Black American Economist and Conservative Political Pundit, Dr. Walter E. Williams, wrote the following piercing words, in an article posted on January 26, 2000…

The flap over the Confederate flag is not quite as simple as the nation’s race experts make it. They want us to believe the flag is a symbol of racism. Yes, racists have used the Confederate flag, but racists have also used the Bible and the U.S. flag. Should we get rid of the Bible and lower the U.S. flag? Black civil rights activists and their white liberal supporters who’re attacking the Confederate flag have committed a deep, despicable dishonor to our patriotic black ancestors who marched, fought and died to protect their homeland from what they saw as Northern aggression.

They don’t deserve the dishonor.

Facts are stubborn things.

Atheist and Progressive Activists: The Tyranny of the Minority

American Christianity 2On this blessed Easter Weekend in my hometown, a bitter minority has purposefully scheduled a convention, to gain attention and to rail against “Someone” whom they claim NOT to believe in.

LocalMemphis.com has the story…

While the country debates the religious freedom bills, one of the biggest anti-religious groups is having their convention in the Bluff City.

American Atheists kicked off their convention with a panel discussion Wednesday evening. About a thousand atheists are expected to attend the event set in the heart of the Bible Belt.

“We come to Memphis, we come to the Bible Belt very deliberately because people assume that Memphis is a Christian city full of Christian people, and they feel oppressed by the Christian majority here”, said the President of the American Atheists, David Silverman.

It’s almost ironic that this convention of non-believers is happening just a short distance from the battle that’s brewing in Arkansas. As Americans go head to head over the debate of the Religious Freedom law that was just vetoed by the governor.

“Of course, religion divides this country. It is the most divisive force in this country, more than politics”, said Silverman.

Atheists certainly bring a unique perspective to the argument that certain services can be denied to people based solely upon someone’s religious beliefs.

“When the government comes in and says okay, if you’re religious you can skip out on these laws, but if you’re not religious you have to obey these laws. It is religious discrimination from the government”, said Silverman.

The American Atheists National Convention will be held at the Peabody Hotel through Sunday.

Yesterday, Rush Limbaugh spoke about a related story…

Such great news out of Indiana. Memories Pizza shut down by a mob of probably 10 to 15, maybe at the outside 20 people, who have found a way to make themselves look like they are thousands. Not just thousands of people, but angry, outraged, and they happen to represent the majority of Americans, don’t you know. That’s BS squared.Ten to 15 people toying around with algorithms available on Twitter that they actually created with the assistance of people that know Twitter well, and they’re able to create tweets, Facebook posts, e-mails to make it look like thousands of Americans are outraged at this harmless, barely even noticeable little pizza shop in a town of 2,000.

And, again, the story, ladies and gentlemen, is not that an infobabe from an obscure ABC affiliate in South Bend has to leave South Bend 20 miles away, go knocking on doors shopping for bigotry, and finally they open the door and a young woman who is a devout Christian is there. She thinks there’s a media person at the door who wants to really know what she thinks.

She’s like everybody else with their first encounter with the media. Why, there’s the media. There’s a camera, a microphone, some guy holding it up, and there’s the really pretty reporterette, and they must really want to know what I think. They must really be concerned with what I think. This young woman had no idea that what walked into her pizzeria was effectively the media mafia. She had no idea that the only reason they walked in that door was to find a way to destroy their business.

Nope. Instead, well, here comes this nice media woman, and she’s asking me questions, and I know they want to know the truth, and so I’m gonna answer their questions honestly. She told them that she had never been asked to serve a gay wedding or cater one, but that if she were to be asked she wouldn’t do it because she opposes gay marriage.

And so the honest, upstanding little reporterette from the obscure ABC affiliate, Channel 57, how obscure can you get, Channel 57. If it weren’t for cable nobody’d be able to pick up that signal, 57 UHF, you’d have to be in an airplane 10,000 feet above it to get the signal straight up. Channel 57?

Anyway, she’s in the store, and she’s got this naive but just brazenly honest young Christian pizzeria owner telling her the truth and the apparently harmless infobabe from the obscure Channel 57 ABC affiliate in South Bend salivates. A-ha! I’ve been knocking on doors for two days looking for a stupid idiot, and I finally found one. She thought she was looking squarely at devil bigot in the case of this young woman, Crystal O’Connor.

So she got Crystal O’Connor on tape, and then she walks out and gleefully applauds, can’t believe her good luck, all of her hard work knocking on doors looking for a bigot. And after 20 miles and who knows how many hours, she found one, and she’s thinking, this is my ticket out of the obscure Channel 57 in South Bend. If I can destroy this woman, maybe I’ll get noticed by the big network honchos in New York. She proceeded to report this little pizza shop, Memories Pizza, a home of open bigots, racists, homophobes, wouldn’t serve a gay wedding even though they’d never been asked.

…They’re a little pizza store, not bothering anybody, not threatening anybody, not doing anything but just living and breathing and trying to serve their community.  The next thing you know, they are the focus of evil in a bigoted, homophobic country?  Not so fast!  The people of this country are rising up.  By the way, this is not the first time for this.

There was an African-American arts and crafts store owner who had her store totally destroyed in one of the riots in another fake news story, “hands up, don’t shoot,” in Ferguson, Missouri.  A GoFundMe account was set up, and that woman raised donations from people — white people — all over America, far more than she needed to rebuild and reopen her store.  So it’s still your same old righteous, God-fearing, God-loving country.  And that is what so angers this small malcontent minority on the left.

They have found a trick way to make themselves appear to be much larger than they really are, and don’t doubt me on this.  We’ve investigated it because they’ve come after us — and they continue to come after us and our sponsors — for years now.  We’ve researched them. We know their names.  We know who the 10 people are in our case.  We know where they live.  We know the algorithm they’re using.

We know exactly how they make this happen.  So don’t doubt me on this.  If they can do it in one area, they can do it in any other area. I think all this stuff that happens, all these Twitter explosions, are fake.  You have got to trust that.  You have not lost your country.  We have not lost our country.  Now it’s true we’re in a defensive posture. We sit around and mind our business, and when we’re attacked and assaulted we do on occasion stand up and defend ourselves.

We are very absent political leadership in Washington.  That’s also true, and I’m not saying that this is not a problem.  It is.  I’m just telling you that if you’re running around thinking, “Oh, my gosh, we’ve lost the country,” we haven’t.  Don’t think that.  Breitbart has a story today — NewsBusters has carried it as well — that the pizza store was asking for it.  Breitbart: “Memories Pizza is an explicitly Christian business, which is probably what drew reporters in the first place. The store is festooned with religious sayings including this:

“‘Every day before we open the store, we gather and pray together. If there is something you would like us to pray for, just write it down and drop it in the box and we will pray for you.'” Well, those hateful bastards! How dare they! Do you realize that’s a direct assault? That’s a direct assault from a majority bunch of Christians on people who aren’t!  That’s hateful (in the cockeyed, perverted world of the left).  Not only is that hateful, it’s threatening.

Offering to pray for the godless?

Who do they think they are!

So this obscure reporterette from the obscure Channel 57 in South Bend, Indiana, probably didn’t have to hear anything from Crystal O’Connor. They just had to go and see that sign and say, “A-ha! I’ve got a Christian bigot here.  Why this hateful Christian bigot wants to pray for me?  Ha-ha.  What a bunch of idiots.” And then she thought that, “Well, I’m in this pizzeria and they want to pray for me?  I am surrounded by hate!” That is the perverted way they look at it.

Daily Caller: “Salon: Pizzeria Closed After Death Threats ‘Getting Exactly What It Deserved.'” Salon.com says this pizzeria getting death threats deserves it — and now there are threats to burn it down!  There are tweets from people asking to be joined in a mission to go to Indiana, find this place, and burn it to the ground.  Salon is applauding this, saying the pizzeria is “getting exactly what it deserved.”  The tweet, by the way, is now deleted.

“Salon’s Twitter account gloated over the closure of ‘anti-LGBT’ pizza shop: “‘That anti-LGBT pizza shop in Indiana is getting exactly what it deserves.'” I think, frankly, I agree with them now: Over a half million dollars in donations. Memories Pizza is getting exactly what they deserve, an uprising and outpouring of support and love from a majority of the American people who are outraged at these never-ending, incessant attacks on decent, good people who threaten nobody.  Some leftist dingbats have even threatened to steal the GoFundMe money.

There are people on Twitter who are hatching plans to figure out how to rob them of this money.  I’m not kidding it.  NewsBusters has a roundup: “A tweeted wish to organize a group to burn the store down… A separate threat to the GoFundMe organizer who has a [sic] orchestrated a campaign which has raised over [$500,000] … and, to top it off, another threat, by someone who now laughably claims he was hacked, to steal from the O’Connors the money that has been raised.”

People who have publicly encouraged donations to this GoFundMe account are also now being personally threatened.  We are to believe that this is justified? The Drive-By Media tells us that this family, the O’Connor family, is “getting exactly what it deserves”? Threats to burn down the pizza store, threats to rob them of the GoFundMe money? They deserve it? This is exactly what they deserve?

There’s a political party, folks, that inspires and encourages this hate.  There’s a political party that rewards it.  There’s a political party that encourages it and claims that it will be rewarded, and that’s the Democrat Party.  These are not Republicans doing this; these are not conservatives doing this.  The people doing this are not the backbone of America.

The people engaged in this sick, perverted behavior, are not in any way, shape, manner, or form the people upon whose backs this country was built.  Admittedly so.  They’re trying to tear it down.  They’re outraged.  I just think it’s fantastic.  I love all of you who have donated.

I have never understood Atheists, especially the so-called activists among them.

Our Constitution provides for Freedom of Religion.

According to the Supreme Court, in their Ruling abolishing School Prayer, Atheism is a religion, which the Americans who embrace this nihilism are free to practice.

So, why are Atheist Activists continuously launching a full-blown attack on the Faith which our Founding Fathers wrote so eloquently about, and which has sustained this “shining city on a hill” through times of internal and external strife?

In other words, why are activist Atheists (and Progressives) so intent to either limit or completely eliminate Christianity’s influence on everyday American Life?

Why can’t they be content with their freedom to practice their own Religion?

Why don’t they attack the political/religious ideology of Islam with the same fervor?

The answer to this question is simple: Cowards will always tell you whom they are afraid of. They will avoid them, like one avoids a child with Chicken Pox.

Additionally, they expect Christians to allow them to take control by “turning the other cheek.” Evidently, they never read the scriptures which describe Jesus running the “money lenders” out of the temple, overturning tables, and expressing his righteous indignation in a way in which no one could mistake it for anything else.

A modern-day example is the resounding blowback to the hypocritical fascism being displayed by Progressives regarding their lie-driven mission to legalize “gay marriage”.

Perhaps, their quixotic quest to make life miserable for the 74% of Americans who claim Crist as their Personal Savior stems from the overwhelming overestimation of their own intelligence, which results from ignoring the influence of the God of Abraham in their own life.

So, what drives them in this “Unholy Crusade”?

Bitterness, emptiness, and an unfulfilled hungering in their soul which they cannot put a finger on, is the only explanation.

Otherwise, why would you fight so hard against the influence of and worship of Someone you claim not to believe in?

Obama to Surrender US Climate Sovereignty to United Nations

obamaburningconstitutionSince He is already in the process of surrendering our safety to Iran, Obama has decided to surrender our sovereignty to the United Nations.

The Washington Post reports that

The White House on Tuesday introduced President Obama’s blueprint for cutting greenhouse gas emissions in the United States by nearly a third over the next decade.

Mr. Obama’s plan, part of a formal written submission to the United Nations ahead of efforts to forge a global climate change accord in Paris in December, detailed the United States’ part of an ambitious jointpledge made by Mr. Obama and President Xi Jinping of China in November.

The United States and China are the world’s two largest greenhouse gas polluters. Mr. Obama said the United States would cut its emissions by 26 to 28 percent by 2025, while Mr. Xi said that China’s emissions would drop after 2030.

Mr. Obama’s new blueprint brings together several domestic initiatives that were already in the works, including freezing construction of new coal-fired power plants, increasing the fuel economy of vehicles and plugging methane leaks from oil and gas production. It is meant to describe how the United States will lead by example and meet its pledge for cutting emissions.

But the plan’s reliance on executive authority is an acknowledgment that any proposal to pass climate change legislation would be blocked by the Republican-controlled Congress.

At the heart of the plan are ambitious but politically contentious Environmental Protection Agency regulations meant to drastically cut planet-warming carbon dioxide emissions from the nation’s cars and coal-fired power plants. The plan also relies on a speedy timetable, which assumes that Mr. Obama’s administration will issue and begin enacting all such regulations before he leaves office.

Let me tell any idiotic individuals who might support this insane plan by Petulant President Pantywaist, the way I feel about “answering” to the United Nations.

The United States of America is a Sovereign Nation, created by the blood, sweat, and tears of men and women, who rise above you in stature, honor, integrity, and courage to the point where you are not even fit enough to tie their boots.

All those things that you got away with in college, including burning our flag, protesting, being ungrateful, obnoxious, and unpatriotic, does not fly with the overwhelming majority of Americans.

What Americans have witnessed during this pitiful excuse for a President’s Administration, have disgusted Patriotic Americans to the point of rage.

On his nationally syndicated radio program, back in January of this year, the Godfather of Conservative Talk Radio, Maha Rushie, himself, spoke about Obama’s “Independence Proclamation” in which he proclaimed that what Congress would not do, he would accomplish by Executive Orders:

Executive orders to make things fair. He can do executive orders and executive actions to get rid of the unfairness. He’s gonna make this lousy country finally fair! … He’s got these Republicans standing in his way. “Okay, I’m gonna just start writing executive orders. “To hell with it! I’m gonna finally make everything fair.” Now, he might have a pen, and he might have a phone, but what he does not have is the constitutional power to run this country like a dictator…

…He’s a constitutional lawyer, and he should know better. But he doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about the Constitution. The Constitution is an impediment to Obama. The Constitution is not something to be respected — and it’s not just Obama, by the way. It’s to the vast majority of the intellectual, leftist elite. They really detest the Constitution, because it thwarts them. Some of you may not know this, but the United States Constitution was written to limit government power.

The US Constitution’s first 10 amendments specifically limit government’s power. Well, that’s not cool if you’re Obama or any of today’s liberal Democrats. That, to you, is shackles. They call that “a charter of negative liberties.” Stop and think of that. A document founded in the belief, the proclamation, the declaration, the primacy of individual liberty and freedom is considered “a charter of negative liberties.”

It’s something that gives the people individual primacy and freedom — and, to the left, that’s negative — and the reason they call it “a charter of negative liberties” is because it limits government. They don’t like that, and that’s what Obama was talking about, “You know, the heck with it!”

…Violating the Constitution — there’s no question about this, folks. It’s just a matter of whether people in power and who have the authority to do so want to stop it. Because if nobody’s gonna stop Obama, he’s gonna be able to keep doing it.

President Obama has been on a mission during his presidency to circumvent the system of checks and balances which Our Founding Fathers have so wisely put in place, in order to prevent exactly what our Imperial President is attempting to do.

Therefore, one can say that the president’s actions, concerning the issuance of “Memoranda”, are no less than tyrannical.

What did our Founding Fathers have to say about Tyranny?

The liberties of our country, the freedoms of our civil Constitution are worth defending at all hazards; it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors. They purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring a mark of everlasting infamy on the present generation – enlightened as it is – if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of designing men. -Samuel Adams

Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.- Thomas Jefferson

And, this final quote, which is amazingly prophetic:

Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers, too plainly prove a deliberate, systematic plan of reducing [a people] to slavery.- Thomas Jefferson

If you haven’t noticed, there has been an explosion of Conservative Bloggers during the Obama Administration. There is a reason for this.

Just as Benjamin Franklin (Poor Richard’s Almanac) and Thomas Paine (Common Sense) used their biting wit, as communicated by the Written Word, to fight tyranny in their time, so are “Citizen Bloggers” using the power of the Written Word once again, this time magnified in scope a thousand-fold by the power of the Internet, to fight an Imperious President.

Because…

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. – Edmund Burke

Speak your mind. It is your right and legacy as an American Citizen.

Do not allow yourself and the country which has been bequeathed to us by the blood, sweat, and tears of those who have gone before us, to “go gently into that good night”.

Rage, rage against the dying of The Light.

Net Neutrality: Fascism By Any Other Name…

image

The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help. – United States President Ronald Wilson Reagan

Now that the Obama Administration has successfully controlled the food which our children and grandchildren are fed in their school cafeterias, they now are attempting to seize control of World Wide Web.

TheHill.com reports that

A Democrat on the Federal Communications Commission wants to narrow the scope of new net neutrality rules that are set for a vote on Thursday, The Hill has learned.

Mignon Clyburn, one of three Democrats on the FCC, has asked Chairman Tom Wheeler to roll back some of the restrictions before the full commission votes on them, FCC officials said.

The request — which Wheeler has yet to respond to — puts the chairman in the awkward position of having to either roll back his proposals, or defend the tough rules and convince Clyburn to back down.

It’s an ironic spot for Wheeler, who for months was considered to be favoring weaker rules than those pushed for by his fellow Democrats, before he reversed himself about backing tougher restrictions on Internet service providers.

Wheeler will need the votes of both Clyburn and Democratic Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel to pass the rules since the two Republicans on the commission are expected to vote against anything he proposes.

Clyburn’s changes would leave in place the central and most controversial component of Wheeler’s rules — the notion that broadband Internet service should be reclassified so that it can be treated as a “telecommunications” service under Title II of the Communications Act, similar to utilities like phone lines.

Proponents of net neutrality have said that move is the surest way to prevent Internet service providers from interfering with people’s access to the Web.

However, she wants to eliminate a new legal category of “broadband subscriber access services,” which was created as an additional point of legal authority for the FCC to monitor the ways that companies hand off traffic on the back end of the Internet.

Those deals, known as “interconnection” arrangements, became a point of contention last year, when Netflix accused Comcast and other companies of erecting “Internet tolls” before easily passing Web traffic from one network to another.

The initial plan sought by Wheeler would allow the FCC to investigate and take action against deals that are “not just and reasonable,” according to a fact sheetreleased by the FCC earlier this month.

Eliminating the new legal category could make it trickier for the FCC to police those arrangements, said the FCC officials, who were granted anonymity in order to speak freely about the ongoing negotiations.

Other FCC officials have previously said that the broader act of reclassifying broadband Internet service would, in and of itself, give the commission enough powers to oversee interconnection deals. That opinion has been backed up by lawyers at Google, among others, who made the argument to FCC officials last week.

Clyburn’s changes also would replace a new standard for Internet service providers’ conduct, which was meant to act as a catchall rule for any future behavior that might abuse consumers. That standard would be swapped out with potentially narrower language from 2010 rules that prevented “unreasonable discrimination.” A federal court tossed out those 2010 rules early last year, setting the stage for the FCC to write new rules.

The full text of the rules will not be revealed to the public until after the FCC’s vote on Thursday morning.

So, what exactly does “Net Neutrality” mean to average Americans, like you and me?

Rush Limbaugh breaks it down for us, as only he can…

Do you own a website, do you operate a website?  If Obama gets his way, you’re gonna have to get a license for it just like radio and TV stations get licenses, because the Internet is gonna be subject to regulation under Title II like broadcast facilities are.  Cable is not, but over the air broadcast — But they can’t wait to regulate the Internet, folks, they just can’t wait.

There’s too much freedom out there.  There’s too many people, quote, unquote, “out of control” on the Internet, and Obama and the Democrats have gotta get it controlled.  And the way they’re doing it is capitalizing on the stupidity of young people.  Maybe “stupidity” is the wrong word.  Ignorance and lack of information resulting from they haven’t lived long enough to know.

The way net neutrality is being sold to Millennials is — and I read these tech bloggers, these little guys. I read ’em, they hate their cable providers. They hate their web service providers, Internet service, they hate ’em.  Just like you were made to hate Big Oil and just like you were made to hate Big Tobacco. Just like you’ve been oriented to hate Big Anything, Big Retail, big box retail like Walmart.  The Democrats’ enemies list now includes all of the telecommunications companies and the Internet service providers.

The way Obama is targeting support, gaining support from young people on this, is he’s got them confused that what he’s gonna do with net neutrality is punish the people they hate.  Does this sound familiar?  They’re gonna go after Comcast, Time Warner, any other telecommunications, cell provider, Internet service, they’re gonna really hammer ’em, and they’re gonna make sure that they don’t overcharge.  Then they’re gonna make sure they provide equal access to high speed.  The big, rich people aren’t gonna get any more access to high speed than people who can’t afford it are, and the government’s gonna take care of it, and the government’s gonna punish, and government’s gonna make people behave right.

The government’s gonna make it all fair.  The government’s gonna make it all equal.  And that’s what they’ve been led to believe.  The same government that has, right in front of these little people, these young people’s faces, blown up the health care system. The same government that has made a mockery of HealthCare.gov. The same government that has messed up and on the verge of totally destroying, under the guise of transforming it, the best health care system in the world.

Liberals can not legitimately defend this suppression of the First Amendment Rights of Christian Americans.

This is fascism, boys and girls, pure and simple.

Fascism, in any form, remains indefensible, especially when it’s done in the name of “making things fair.”

When Barack Hussein Obama assumed the position of President of the United States, the Far Left became empowered. Obama’s handlers saw the opportunity to “radically change” America into a Democratic Socialist Republic. You know, the kind of government that is currently failing over in Europe.

Every piece of legislation that Barack Hussein Obama has tried to get passed, has been designed to either overtly or covertly limit our freedom.

From the stimulus bill on up to this Thursday’s vote, every single piece of legislation and every overt and covert action by Obama and his Administration has been designed to further the Far Left’s agenda.

Alinsky and Marx would be proud.

Boehner Keeps Speakership. Starts “Paying Back” Conservatives.

AFBrancoNoBoehner162015Well, so far, it appears that the Republican Establishment has misread, or are intentionally ignoring, the results of the 2014 Mid-Term Elections.

Politico.com reports that

After he secured his third term as speaker Tuesday afternoon, losing 25 votes on the House floor to some relative-unknown members of the House Republican Conference, Boehner moved swiftly to boot Florida Reps. Daniel Webster and Rich Nugent from the influential Rules Committee.

The reason was simple: Webster ran against Boehner for speaker, distributing fliers outlining his candidacy and talking about how he would better adhere to the House rules than the Ohio Republican. Nugent supported his fellow Floridian in the quixotic endeavor, which garnered the support of 12 lawmakers. Webster didn’t even give Boehner a heads-up that he was running, although leadership was aware early Tuesday morning that it could happen.

With Webster openly offering himself as an alternative to Boehner, the GOP leadership thought seats on the Rules Committee were a plum that the pair no longer deserved. It didn’t take more than a few hours for Webster – a legendary former Florida statehouse speaker and state Senate majority leader – and Nugent to find themselves on the outside of a power structure they were once very much a part of.

Members are already making noises about reversing any punitive action by Boehner and the leadership, although the speaker’s allies warn that further retaliation could be on the way. The removal of Webster and Nugent was meant to provide a clear demonstration that what Boehner and other party leaders accepted during the last Congress is no longer acceptable, not with the House’s biggest GOP majority in decades.

The House Republican leadership is carefully reviewing the list of members who voted against the speaker and those who opposed a procedural motion in December on the so-called “crominibus,” the $1.1 trillion spending package to keep the government open through to September.

Subcommittee chairmanships might be stripped and other perks could fall away, top Republican sources suggested, in a process that could take months to unfold.

On September 29, 2011, Rush Limbaugh made some very pertinent points concerning the difference in political ideology between the Conservative Base and the NE Moderate Republicans’ Club:

This is fascinating. I spoke earlier in the previous busy broadcast hour about Reagan’s campaign for governor in California in 1966. It is instructive because of this battle here between American conservatives and the Republican establishment, and believe me, they’re two different things. Now, George Will says there’s no Republican establishment and there hasn’t been since, what, 1966. But there is. The Republican establishment for all intents and purposes for the sake of our discussion here, is made up of what you would call RINOs.

The Republican establishment is northeastern Republican conservatives. They’re right on the fiscal side of things most of the time, but they don’t want any part of the social issues. They can’t stand it being part of the party platform. They don’t want to talk about it. They have no desire to be part of that discussion. They think it’s going to lose elections, all that kind of stuff, plus they do tend to believe Washington is the center of the universe. Republicans win elections. They’re in charge of the money. They like that. They tend to believe that an energetic, powerful executive wielding financial powers, spending money for the national good with conservative instincts is a good thing. So if government grows under that rubric, then it’s fine.

We, of course, as conservatives, don’t see things that way, and there is the divide. And the Republican establishment is made up of a lot of powerful people with a lot of money, and they want to win. Just like we do. They employ whatever muscle they have to see to it that they do. They want their candidates to be representative of what they want, all of which is understandable. So there’s this battle going on. The added intensity this time around is another point of disagreement. That is the Republican establishment doesn’t really think the country’s threatened. They don’t like Obama. They think Obama’s a disaster, but the country’s not in any danger here of real long-term damage. I mean, it’s just overblown, all this talk about saving the country, it’s not that bad. All we gotta do is get our people in there and put us back on the responsible fiscal track and everything will be fine.

They don’t see the Democrat Party the same way we do. They don’t see the Democrat Party as basically socialist liberal, and they cringe at such talk. And these people never really were enamored with Ronald Reagan. They never really liked him. They just lived on edge every day: What’s this guy going to do that’s going to embarrass us? What mistake is he going to make? What stupid thing is he going to say? They actually had this view. Tip O’Neill was not the only one who thought that Ronald Reagan was an amiable dunce. There were in the Republican establishment who thought that before Reagan ever ran for office and after he won the presidency. And they thought that back in 1966. After all, he was just an actor, introduced GE Theater.

…He was talking about the Goldwater campaign of two years past. This is ’66; the Goldwater campaign was ’64….Reagan said, “We don’t intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals of our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all,” and the traitors he was referring to were the Rhinos of his day who had undermined the Goldwater conservatives during the 1964 campaign. And Reagan was saying: Over my dead body is the Republican Party going to be turned over to those people. We’re only going places if we conservatives run this party, if we take it over and if we are unified.

Just as they underestimated Ronaldus Magnus, I truly believe that the Country Club Republicans underestimate their Conservative Base.

Reagan Conservatives are the bedrock of this nation. We pay these bozos’ salaries, and get shafted in return.

You know what I want for the 23% (soon to be 40%) of my hard-earned money, which I send to our nation’s capital to pay for Obama’s and Congress’ Revenue?

I want Conservative Leadership. I want somebody to stand up on their hind legs and tell Obama the way the cow ate the cabbage. I want someone to actually give a hoot ‘n holler about the average American, not the special interest groups, not the lobbyists, not “the smartest people in the room”…me.

I want an American President and competent American Congresspeople.

I want a dadblamed budget, first. I want them to be good stewards of MY money. Not their “revenue”. I want someone to stand up and be a MAN…or a WOMAN.

I am so dadgum tired of mealy-mouth squishes and political niceties and expediences, I could spit. Too many Americans are out of work and doing without, while the Three-Ring Circus performs unabated under the Big Top on Capital Hill.

The American people are tired of cleaning up after the donkeys and the elephants.

“Who am I? Why am I Here?”: KJ’s 2014 in review

AFBrancoObamaPolicies12302014I am an anachronism.

I have been told that,  by “libertarians”, repeatedly, on Internet Chat Boards, on the World Wide Web.

Dictionary.com defines an anachronism as

something or someone that is not in its correct historical or chronological time, especially a thing or person that belongs to an earlier time.

I suppose that’s me.

I started this Blog as a way to vent my frustrations with the ever-evolving “societal norms” and political mayhem around me. A lot of things just grated on my nerves. They still do.

I was “reared” (as we say in Dixie) by a Mother and Daddy (Southern colloquialism for a Male Parental Unit) who were members of the Greatest Generation. In fact, I was born 3 days before my mother’s 40th brithday. To this day, I believe that they were going to name me “Oops”.

My view of the world around me was shaped and nurtured by my Daddy, a Christian American, and the finest man I’ve ever known, who served with an Army Engineering Unit, as a Master Sergeant, in World War II, and who jumped off of a perfectly good boat into a hail of gunfire to join his American Brothers in the tide-turning American Victory known as “D-Day”.

Between him and my Mother, they taught me what it was to be a hard-working, Middle Class Christian American Conservative….and, to be proud of it.

But now, at 56 years old, trying to survive the presidency of an anti-American, Muslim-sympathizing, political-pandering, class warfare-preaching, racially-dividing, card-carrying Communist, who went golfing this weekend, displacing the wedding of two Army Captains (an actual male and female!), while more than 3,000 of our Brightest and Best, are serving in Africa, being exposed to a disease which has landed on our very shores, threatening our citizenry, I wonder if at times, if my self-assigned duty of writing this blog everyday, is actually worth the effort.  I’m beginning to feel like I’m beating my dadgum head against the wall until it’s bloody, and for no cotton-pickin’ reason at all.

Why am I feelng that way?

Well, there are several reasons.

1. This country re-elected an idiot. Now, I realize that’s been done before. But, they all paled in comparison to this guy. I believe that “Scooter”, my pet name for Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmm), burnt up the vast majority of his gray matter during his “Choom Gang” days in Hawaii, and now, as an old friend, a former Meth-head, who, sadly, later committed suicide this time of year, used to tell me, he has “2 brain cells left and they’re fighting to the death”. I pray we survive the next 4 years.

2.  Evidently, Americans, at least the majority of the ones that actually got up off the couch (Pookie, included) to vote on November 6th, want the Federal Government to take care of them, cradle to grave. Rush Limbaugh labelled this symptom, “The Baracky Claus Effect”.  I pray, that, just as the Proletariat eventually figured out in the old Soviet Union, Americans are going to wake up one day, to find that mega-dependence on The State to run your life, leads to the loss of personal freedom. And those, who believe that they are “the most enlightened people in the room”, will be the first ones hollering, when they discover that their freedom has been taken away.

3. America seems to be devolving into a collection of Libertines. Notice, I did not say “Libertarians”, although, both descriptive words come from the same root word. A Libertine is, per Merriam-Webster.com,

a person who is unrestrained by convention or morality: one leading a dissolute (lacking moral restraint) life

Being a Libertarian used to mean you wanted less Government in your life and less restrictions on your personal happiness. Notice I said used to mean. Now, Libertine and Libertarian both seem to mean the same thing to the majority of posters self-identifying as members of the latter group on Internet chat boards.

Caligula’s Horse approves.

I suppose I could pontificate on the fallen nature of Man at this point, but, that’s fairly self-evident…and, as the late Freddie Prinze used to say, “Ees not my yob, man.”

4. Finally, I have been told by Liberal Trolls on the Worldwide Web, that my blog was considered a “joke”. I used to allow this to hurt me very deeply. You see, since April of 2010, I have devoted a lot of time and effort to putting my ideas, however old-fashioned and cornball they are, down on paper. I truly enjoy doing it. I must. I haven’t made a dadgum dime off of it.

Have you ever stood back on New year’s Eve and tried to remember what you accomplished during the past year?

Since I began this blog in April of 2010, I have not had that problem.

jesterluteThe WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 51,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 19 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Click here to see the complete report.

For those of you who have not figured me out, yet, I, a Christian American Conservative, am a follower of Jesus Christ and a citizen of the United States of America (by the Grace of God), who holds to traditional values and attitudes.

So, where do I go from here? Do I run away, pummedled into submission by “The Smartest People in the Room”, with my tail between my legs, and live out the rest of my days in quiet desperation?

To any of you who repled, “yes”…you don’t know me very well.

Greater is He who is in me, than he who is in the world.

My Creator, while endowing me with certain inalienable rights, also endowed me with an indomitable will. Then, somewhere along my journey, He gave me the gift of being able to express my thoughts and feelings on this computer keyboard.

I will not give up. I will not surrender my Christianity, my love of the Greatest Nation on God’s Green Earth, or my Conservatism, to appease those who wish everybody would just get in line and acquiesce to the prevailing “societal norms”.  I follow another set of guidelines, written a long time ago, but which remain as relevant as the moment in which the Hand of God guided those who wrote them down.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, – Colossians 3:23 (ESV)

I pray that you, the reader, are able to glean that from my blogs.  Because, as Matthew 6:21 tells us:

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

May God bless you and yours in 2015,

KJ

Obama Pushing Once Again For “Net Neutrality”

obamabigbroThe nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help. – United States President Ronald Wilson Reagan

Now that the Obama Administration has successfully controlled the food which our children and grandchildren are fed in their school cafeterias, they now, once again, are attempting to regulate the World Wide Web.

Foxnews.com reports that

President Obama threw down the gauntlet Monday with cable companies and Internet providers by declaring they shouldn’t be allowed to cut deals with online services like YouTube to move their content faster.

It was his most definitive statement to date on so-called “net neutrality,” and escalates a battle that has been simmering for years between industry groups and Internet activists who warn against the creation of Internet “fast lanes.” The president’s statement swiftly drew an aggressive response from trade groups, which are fighting against additional regulation, as well as congressional Republicans.

We are stunned the president would abandon the longstanding, bipartisan policy of lightly regulating the Internet and calling for extreme” regulation, said Michael Powell, president and CEO of the National Cable and Telecommunications Association, the primary lobbying arm of the cable industry.

Obama, in his statement, called for an “explicit ban” on “paid prioritization,” or better, faster service for companies that pay extra. The president said federal regulators should reclassify the Internet as a public utility under Title II of the 1934 Communications Act.

“For almost a century, our law has recognized that companies who connect you to the world have special obligations not to exploit the monopoly they enjoy over access in and out of your home or business,” Obama said in his statement. “That is why a phone call from a customer of one phone company can reliably reach a customer of a different one, and why you will not be penalized solely for calling someone who is using another provider. It is common sense that the same philosophy should guide any service that is based on the transmission of information — whether a phone call, or a packet of data.”

Obama’s statement puts him in the middle of a debate between industry groups and the Federal Communications Commission, which is under public pressure – now from Obama as well — to prevent broadband providers from creating the “fast lanes.”

According to Senator Ted  Cruz (R-TX),

The biggest regulatory threat to the Internet is “net neutrality.”

In short, net neutrality is Obamacare for the Internet. It puts the government in charge of determining Internet pricing, terms of service, and what types of products and services can be delivered, leading to fewer choices, fewer opportunities, and higher prices for consumers.

The Internet should not operate at the speed of government.

Way back on December 10, 2010. the Godfather of Talk Radio. Rush Limbaugh, explained what the Obama Administration’s  backing of “net neutrality” is all about…

…This is about the Feds wanting to control the Internet just as they control the public airwaves. They want to be able to determine who gets to say what, where, how often. They want to be able to determine what search services are providing what answers to your queries. It’s total government control of the Internet and the regime has just awarded it to itself, after a court said no, after a court denied them this authority, they went ahead and did it anyway.

…Net neutrality is a solution in search of a problem. It’s just a bunch of liberals wanting to get their hands on something that is massive, that can harm them. They have to control, as much as they can, the free flow of information. They have to be in charge of it, they have to be able to censor it, and that’s what this is all about.

There is no problem on the Internet. None. In fact, in most of life, there wasn’t a problem until the liberals went in search of one so that they could control people’s behavior and try to legislate the outcomes of individuals in life. The only problem here appears to be too much freedom, at least in the minds of the government. There’s too much freedom on the Internet in the minds of Obama and his FCC people. All you really have to know about net neutrality is that its biggest promoters are George Soros and Google and MoveOn.org, which is heavily funded by Mr. Soros and Google. It is also promoted by a number of other radical left Soros fronts, such as the Free Press, the Center for American Progress, and a couple of additional groups improperly named.

The Center for American Progress is about the opposite. They’re not about American progress. And Free Press is not about a free press. So what we’re doing here is neutering the Internet. It’s another private industry. It’s another gleaming aspect of free speech, free market, private industry, that Obama has decided to take over as a Christmas present to himself and the Democrat National Committee and to Mr. Soros.

Speaking of the evil puppetmaster, George Soros, back in December of 2010, FCC Chairman, Julius Genachowski, announced that some of the “net neutrality” fans who support the move, included the Consumer Federation of America, Consumers Union, the Center for Democracy and Technology, and the Communications Workers of America.

  • The Consumer Federation for America (CFA) was founded in 1968, based in Washington, DC.  It describes itself as an “advocacy, research, education, and service organization” on issues affecting consumers and “looks out for those who have the greatest needs, especially the least affluent.” CFA’s membership comprises approximately 280 nonprofit consumer organizations from around the U.S.  It receives its funding from unions and corporations, especially the Rockefeller Foundation.   Per activistcash.com, in the year between 1999-2000, CFA received $266,700 From George Soros’ Open Society Institute.
  • The Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) is a 501(c) “non-profit public policy organization dedicated to promoting the democratic potential of today’s open, decentralized global Internet,” per its website. CDT’s stated mission is “to conceptualize, develop, and implement public policies to preserve and enhance free expression, privacy, open access, and other democratic values in the new and increasingly integrated communications medium.” It was founded in 1994 by Jonah Seiger who also served as its Communications Director.  Per Forbes.com, George Soros gave the Center $300,000 this year.
  • Communication Workers of America (CWA) is the largest telecommunications union in the world and represents over 700,000 men and women in both private and public sectors, including over half a million workers who are building the Information Highway.CWA was founded in 1938 at meetings in Chicago and New Orleans. First known as the National Federation of Telephone Workers, the union became the Communications Workers of America in 1947.   The CWA is aligned with the Communist ideology-driven Working Families Party and the SEIU, who are in turn aligned with, you guessed it, George Soros.

You know, if I were the paranoid type, I would see some sort of conspiracy behind this push to control the Web.

Nah, couldn’t be.  Hey, what’s that black helicopter doing hovering over my roof?

Hotty Toddy! Liberals to Change “Offensive” Civil War Campus Names at Ole Miss

Ole Miss LogoWhy do Liberals insist on attempting to re-write American History? Is it to keep somebody from being offended ? Or, is it an Intimidation and Control Issue?

At the University of Mississippi, better known as Ole Miss, Liberal Revisionist History and Heritage Censorship has reared its ugly head…again.

WREG, the CBS Affiliate in Memphis has the story…

OXFORD, Miss. — Confederate Drive has been part of the University of Mississippi for as long as anyone can remember.

But Chancellor Dan Jones plans to re-name it “Chapel Drive” as part of a campaign to erase some controversial aspects of the school’s past.

That has sparked protest from history buffs like Debbie Sidle, who claim Jones wants to re-write history, “If you change history, then you make your children ashamed of their history which they shouldn’t be. What do you expect them to grow up to be?”

That’s why she and about 40 others, marched in Oxford from the east end of town to the Ole Miss campus carrying Confederate flags.

University of Mississippi Public Relations Director Dan Blanton told us the changes need to be made, ”We need to take a leadership role in the discussion on diversity and inclusion and racial reconciliation. We’ve made a commitment to doing that.”

The University even hired a “Chancellor for Diversity” to oversee that.

Another controversial change involves how the University refers to itself.

Leaders want to use the name Ole Miss for athletics and the University of Mississippi for academics.

Blanton said these changes don’t change the school as a whole, ”I can make it categorically clear that Ole Miss will always be who we are.”

University officials believe the changes will bring in more students from more diverse backgrounds.

Protestors say Ole Miss history, however distasteful, is in the eye of the beholder and shouldn’t get painted over.

”When you re-write history, the way they’re re-writing history, all you have left is nothing. Ole miss will be a generic school, just like every other generic school,” said Sidle, who told us she and others will keep protesting to get their message out.

Last Friday, Rush Limbaugh gave his opinion on this controversy. ..

This Ole Miss thing, and in a lot of other places where supposed politically incorrect names are involved, in this instance we have a conflict I don’t want more of.  And thus I was not talking about this kind of conflict.  But nevertheless the conflict has been brought to us.  And once again, this situation’s gonna be resolved by somebody losing and somebody winning.

But I think the real point in a circumstance like what’s going on in Ole Miss, the vast majority of the people in Mississippi and in the rest of the country are not offended in the least by the name Ole Miss.  In fact, many people from there have a favorable historical root to it.  They don’t think it’s harmful, they don’t think it’s insulting, and they don’t intend it to be.  It’s just the name of the school, it’s the alma mater, big whoop.  And they’re not offended by it.  But the left comes along and presumes to assert the rights of people who they want to be offended but who really aren’t.

Sierra Mannie is a rising senior majoring in Classics and English at the University of Mississippi. She is a regular contributor to the school’s student newspaper, The Daily Mississippian, and her writing has previously appeared on TIME.com. In an article posted there last Friday, titled “Dear Ole Miss: Minorities Are Done Being Haunted by Confederate Ghosts“, she wrote that

It is not for me to decide whether or not Confederate soldiers deserve glory, but I do know that it is not the responsibility of an educational institution and its students to maintain the last bastion of the Confederacy, or to stand as a symbol of the “Old South,” a period of assumed refinement and class that would maybe seem more romantic if it hadn’t all been built on the backs of slaves. Ole Miss has spent too long marinating in such an idyll, willfully and disappointingly ignorant of the antebellum period and its shame, and claiming that those who are not blind on purpose are traitors whose criticism should not be heard; but, as another professor of mine claims, nostalgia is about forgetting, not remembering. Selective memory and a painful lack of racial consciousness, however, are for the enjoyment of the privileged only. Minority students have no opportunity to forget, and it is irresponsible to tell them they have no voice to criticize aspects of a place that cheerfully romanticizes a society that would have enslaved them. As it stands, white privilege is a horrible litmus test for the acidity of racism. White students must no longer talk only to other white people about racism, or accept the myth that racism does not exist and that talking about racism is somehow worse than racism itself.

White Privilege? I’m sitting here, trying to figure out how to pay the phone bill later this week, and this little College Senior is calling me “privileged”?

Is it just me, or is that young lady’s tone she took in her op ed, racist, in itself?

It is not the name of a long-established Southern University, or the actions taken by Americans 150 years ago, that is holding America’s Black Community back, all of these decades later.

Did you know, that in the Mid-South area of Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi, the illegitimate birth rate of Black Americans is right at 75%? I heard that stat on the Ben Ferguson Show one afternoon as I was driving home from work. Think about that: 3 out of every 4 black children, will start out at a disadvantage in this life.

Studies have shown that children are more well-adjusted when they are raised in traditional two-parent families, with two strong role models to teach them right from wrong, good manners from bad, and respect for others.

The Black Community, as does our nation in general, needs to return to our Christian Heritage, which made us a strong and united people, who together, are capable of defeating any foe, removing any obstacle, and triumphing over any adversity.

I believe, if Black Leaders would start devoting their attention to the problems of their community: illegitimate births, abortions, single parent homes, unemployment, and out-of-control crime, including gang violence, instead of handing out excuses, things would begin to turn around.

If legitimate role models, who have achieved the American Dream were emphasized, instead of  amoral thugs, perhaps we would not be witnessing scenes such as we have witnessed the last couple of nights in the St. Louis Area.

Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, a woman of Faith and a tireless Pro-life Advocate, working within the Black Community (who happens to be a Facebook friend), is a great example of someone who is making a difference.

And others, like Dr. Thomas Sowell, Dr. Ben Carson, Lt. Col. Allen West, and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas are outstanding role models for all of America’s youth.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said,

We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.

Our nation needs a “Come to Jesus” meeting. And, we need it right now, before Dr. King’s prophecy comes to fruition.

Mississippi Malfeasance: McDaniel Vs. Cochran: “They Asked Us to Put Up Or Shut Up — Here We Are.”

Cochran Flyer #2 As the school year begins this week, down here in the Magnolia State, Chris McDaniel and his legal team are preparing to teach Senator Thad Cochran a lesson.

WAPT reports from Jackson, MS, that

Lawyers for U.S. Senate candidate Chris McDaniel allege he defeated incumbent Thad Cochran by more than 15,000 votes in the June 24 Republican primary election.

“They asked us to put up or shut up — here we are,” McDaniel said in a news conference Monday.

McDaniel and his attorney, Mitch Tyner, said they’ll file an official legal challenge to the Mississippi Republican Party Executive Committee.

“The facts are on our side. The law is on our side,” McDaniel said. “We look forward to our venue in front of the Republican Executive Committee. This is the opportunity for our party to take the lead on honest, good, transparent government.”

The Mississippi Republican Party nominated Cochran, the incumbent, as its candidate after certifying the results June 24 runoff election, which Cochran won by more than 7,000 votes.

Tyner said a review of the election results by McDaniel supporters found 3,500 crossover votes, 9,500 irregular votes and about 2,275 absentee ballots that were improperly cast, among other voting problems.

“We anticipate after they review the challenge, they’ll see Chris McDaniel clearly won the Republican vote in the runoff,” Tyner said. “Now, I say that very assuredly because that’s what the mathematics show, that’s not what I’m arguing.”

Mark Garriga, an attorney for the Cochran campaign, said Jackson law firm Butler Snow has been hired by Citizens for Cochran to defend the election challenge.

“Like other Mississippians, we have watched with interest as the McDaniel campaign has made repeated and baseless allegations of fraud and misconduct against not only members of the Cochran campaign staff, but also circuit clerks and volunteer poll workers around the state,” Garriga said in a statement. “The filing of this challenge marks the point where this matter moves from an arena of press conferences and rhetoric into a setting where nothing matters but admissible evidence and rule of law.”

Ten days after the appeal to the GOP committee, McDaniel can head to state court.

State GOP Chairman Joe Nosef said Monday that there’s a court case from the 1950s that may determine that the deadline to appeal the election has passed.

— Scott Simmons (@ScottSimmonsNwz) Aug. 4, 2014

As a Mississippian, I have lost all faith in my state’s Republican Party. As regular readers know, I have gone after the out-of-touch National GOP Establishment incessantly, bestowing upon them the title of “Vichy Republicans”. However, in my naiveté, it never occurred to me that a politician from the Magnolia State, where we pride ourselves on our gentlemanly manners and Christian upbringing, could be just a big a cold-hearted snake as the spineless Speaker of the House and that product of Chicago Backroom Politics, the fallen messiah in the White House.

Brother,was I wrong.

The battle down here in Mississippi reflects the divisive battle being waged at a national level between the old guard “Moderate” (i.e., Liberal), Vichy Republicans and the Grassroots Conservative Political Movement, known as the TEA Party.

Back on June 25th, the undisputed Godfather of Conservative Radio Talk Show Hosts, Rush Limbaugh, said the following about the disgusting flyer (featured at the top of this blog) that the Cochran Campaign distributed among Mississippi’s Black Democrat Voters, in order to get them to vote illegally for their their candidate:

Now, it would be one thing if the Democrats did that. They do it every election cycle anyway. But for them to be joined, even if from a distance, by the Republican establishment here, simply confirms what we have long said on this program about establishment Washington. It is ruling class vs. country class. It’s elites vs. the plebes. You and me are the plebes, and they are the elites, and they are aligning together.

My friend Mark Levin, F. Lee Levin, makes the point that Washington is not going to be fixed from Washington. This proves it, if there was any proof needed. Washington is not going to be fixed in Washington. The establishment is going to align itself every which way it can against any outside challenger, like this Tea Party candidate. But it does look like African-Americans.

Democrat African-Americans really did secure the victory for Thad Cochran in a Republican primary. So here we have a result that is not representative of the Republican Party thinking in Mississippi. The technique that was used and the manner in which this was achieved is reprehensible.

A Former Republican Senator from our fair state was recently asked in an interview what he thought about the Cochran/McDaniel Scandal and the state of the Mississippi GOP, in general.

SunHerald.com has the story…

On the eve of Chris McDaniel’s major announcement today [Monday], former Sen. Trent Lott stepped back into the quagmire of the GOP’s effort to nominate a candidate for U.S. Senate. And, what he had to say has to be unsettling for his colleagues in the state Republican Party.

Lott hadn’t been heard from recently outside of a robocall he made for his former colleague Sen. Thad Cochran, late in the slugfest with McDaniel.

Sunday, he decided to sit with The Hill’s Alexandra Jaffe and Megan R. Wilson in Washington for a lengthy rumination on the state of the GOP back home.

Here’s the prognosis:

“This has shown the fissures that are there and I do think the party leaders – it may cause the need for some change in the party leadership,” Lott, now the co-chairman  of Squire Patton Boggs’ public policy practice, told The Hill.

He warned that the Mississippi establishment is ignoring the Tea Party wing of the GOP at their own peril.

“If they try to just stuff ’em or stiff ’em, and don’t realize that there’s a lesson to be learned there, it could be a problem,” said Lott, a former Senate majority leader.

Although he says “we are the Tea Party, philosophically,” he allows he’s also the kind of establishment figure that could have been a target.

“Times are so different. I don’t know how I would do, but I do know one thing: They’d have to take me out, because I’d sure go down swinging,” he said.

It has become very apparent to those of us in the Conservative Base of the Republican Party that the Old Guard “Vichy” Republicans, like Senator Thad Cochran, and in his day, Senator Trent Lott, care more about their Capitol Hill Way of Life, than their constituents. It is time for them to get out of the way, and allow Sen. Cruz and these new TEA Party Conservatives, like Chris McDaniel, to lead the battle against Obama and his corrupt anti-American Administration.

Because, as the old saying goes,

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

The Hobby Lobby Decision: The First Amendment Holds. Religious Freedom Stands.

American ChristianityYesterday was quite a day.

The Supreme Court, in a in a 5-4 ruling, found that “closely held” businesses do not have to provide contraception to their employees, if the ownership of said company opposes birth control on the grounds that it conflicts with the Religious Beliefs.

In other words, if you want to behave like Sandra Fluke, and if I am a business owner of a “closely held” business, I cannot be forced by the Obama Administration to provide your “protection”, either before or after that “special moment”.

Rush Limbaugh, per usual made an excellent point on his nationally-syndicated radio program, yesterday:

…the thinking everywhere on the left, is either Obama’s gonna pay for it from his stash like they think exists in Detroit, or the insurance company will be forced to pay for it. But they won’t pay for it, they’ll just bill it back to Hobby Lobby. (interruption) No, the principle stands, that’s the point. When all this is said and done, the Supreme Court still ruled that the federal government cannot make a “closely held” corporation violate its own personal religious beliefs. I’m gonna have to double-check this, but I really do think that in that sense we’ve not had a ruling this direct in that regard before, whatever the issue was. I think I saw that somewhere this morning in the mounds of show prep that I was going through.

Look, it means here that Obama cannot unilaterally dictate how religion is to be practiced via laws or regulations or executive orders. It means that the First Amendment is not a casual plaything for cavalier statists whether in the executive branch or whether in Congress. There also was another ruling on the union’s and whether or not parents and nannies taking care of their own loved ones at home can be forced to pay union dues, and that was rejected, too. The headline says: “Sweeping Loss for Unions.” Oh, horrible, the Supreme Court just dealt a devastating blow to public unions. But this one really is kind of narrow. But the principle still stands.

What is really important, yet really small in this case, is that even after the Hobby Lobby decision, women can still go to Target or Walmart and buy a month’s worth of conception for nine dollars. What’s kind of being overlooked here in all this — and we did look at it in great detail on the previous occasion on this program — is that somehow we’ve gotten to the point where women should not have to pay for their own birth control. Somebody else is gonna pay for it, no matter how much they want, no matter how often they want it, no matter for what reason, somebody else is going to pay for it. That’s the root of all this. The employer should pay it, the insurance company will pay it, but in no way in 2014 America are women going to being pay for it, even though you can go to Target or Walmart and get a month’s supply for nine bucks.

So the ruling does not apply to, say, an Exxon or a General Motors. That’s not a “closely held” corporation. But the Christian owners of Hobby Lobby cannot be forced to fund the contraception mandate. Their liberty was defended here, no matter how narrow the left wants to say the ruling was, no matter what the practical application is, when it’s all over the First Amendment was enforced, or maybe reinforced today.

On March 8, 1983, President Ronald Wilson Reagan gave a speech to the National Association of Evangelicals, which came to be know as the “Evil Empire Speech”. Here is an excerpt:

Well, I’m pleased to be here today with you who are keeping America great by keeping her good. Only through your work and prayers and those of millions of others can we hope to survive this perilous century and keep alive this experiment in liberty, this last, best hope of man.

I want you to know that this administration is motivated by a political philosophy that sees the greatness of America in you, her people, and in your families, churches, neighborhoods, communities–the institutions that foster and nourish values like concern for others and respect for the rule of law under God.

Now, I don’t have to tell you that this puts us in opposition to, or at least out of step with, a–a prevailing attitude of many who have turned to a modern-day secularism, discarding the tried and time-tested values upon which our very civilization is based. No matter how well intentioned, their value system is radically different from that of most Americans. And while they proclaim that they’re freeing us from superstitions of the past, they’ve taken upon themselves the job of superintending us by government rule and regulation. Sometimes their voices are louder than ours, but they are not yet a majority. [Applause]

An example of that vocal superiority is evident in a controversy now going on in Washington. And since I’m involved, I’ve been waiting to hear from the parents of young America. How far are they willing to go in giving to government their prerogatives as parents?

Let me state the case as briefly and simply as I can. An organization of citizens, sincerely motivated, deeply concerned about the increase in illegitimate births and abortions involving girls well below the age of consent, some time ago established a nationwide network of clinics to offer help to these girls and, hopefully, alleviate this situation. Now, again, let me say, I do not fault their intent. However, in their well-intentioned effort, these clinics decided to provide advice and birth control drugs and devices to underage girls without the knowledge of their parents.

For some years now, the federal government has helped with funds to subsidize these clinics. In providing for this, the Congress decreed that every effort would be made to maximize parental participation. Nevertheless, the drugs and devices are prescribed without getting parental consent or giving notification after they’ve done so. Girls termed “sexually active”–and that has replaced the word “promiscuous”–are given this help in order to prevent illegitimate worth/birth (quickly corrects himself) eh or abortion.

Well, we have ordered clinics receiving federal funds to notify the parents such help has been given. [Applause] One of the nation’s leading newspapers has created the term “squeal rule” in editorializing against us for doing this, and we’re being criticized for violating the privacy of young people. A judge has recently granted an injunction against an enforcement of our rule. I’ve watched TV panel shows discuss this issue, seen columnists pontificating on our error, but no one seems to mention morality as playing a part in the subject of sex. [Applause]

Is all of Judeo-Christian tradition wrong? Are we to believe that something so sacred can be looked upon as a purely physical thing with no potential for emotional and psychological harm? And isn’t it the parents’ right to give counsel and advice to keep their children from making mistakes that may affect their entire lives? [Slight crescendo of voice and emphasis–Long Applause]

Many of us in government would like to know what parents think about this intrusion in their family by government. We’re going to fight in the courts. The right of parents and the rights of family take precedence over those of Washington-based bureaucrats and social engineers. [Applause]

But the fight against parental notification is really only one example of many attempts to water down traditional values and even abrogate the original terms of American democracy. Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged. [Applause] When our founding fathers passed the First Amendment, they sought to protect churches from government interference. They never intended to construct a wall of hostility between government and the concept of religious belief itself.

Yesterday afternoon, the current POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama, did not address the Supreme Court’s ruling. Instead, he gave a petulant speech blaming the Republicans in Congress  for failing to deal with the Mexican Munchkin Migration, a horrible, sovereignty-threatening situation on our Southern Border, which he himself encouraged. The Petulant President threatened to issue Executive Orders to “deal with the problem”, a solution which is actually outside the reach of his Presidential Powers.

Now, I’m not naive. As Rush alluded to, I fully expect Obama to administratively arrange for our tax dollars to pay for birth control pills and abortiafacients for employees of these companies who choose not to provide them, due to their religious principles.

Which brings me to the following observation:

The President of the United States of America in 1983 was against the United States Government promoting immorality.

The President of the United States of America in 2014 is promoting immoral behavior and individual irresponsibility…and is expecting taxpayers to pay for it.

HOW IS THIS “PROGRESS”?

Until He Comes,
