Kaepernick Bad Mouths America at “Unthanksgiving” on Alcatraz Island…and Remains Unemployed

th (115)

On a day when actual Americans were giving thanks, one attention-seeking ex-NFL Quarterback decided to show his ingratitude about being born in the Greatest Country on the Face of the Earth.

FoxNews.com reports that

Former NFL player Colin Kaepernick had an odd way of celebrating Thanksgiving, attending an event that appeared to serve as a rebuke to the holiday and the United States.

On Thursday, Kaepernick spoke at the “Indigenous People’s Sunrise Ceremony,” also known as “Unthanksgiving,” on Alcatraz Island in San Francisco, California. The event is intended to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Native Americans occupying the famous island, which previously served as the site of a federal prison.

“Spent the morning at the Indigenous People’s Sunrise Ceremony on the 50 year anniversary of the Occupation of Alcatraz,” Kaepernick tweeted on Thanksgiving day.

“The US government has stolen over 1.5 billion acres of land from Indigenous people. Thank you to my Indigenous family, I’m with you today and always.”

Kaepernick is no stranger to controversy and has been out of the NFL since the 2016 season. He started a national firestorm when he decided to kneel during the national anthem before games to raise awareness about perceived social injustices across the U.S. He accused NFL owners in a grievance of blackballing him from the league because of the anthem protest, but the two sides settled earlier this year.

He tweeted a video of a man proclaiming that Native Americans were taking the land by “right of discovery.” The video also appeared to show him speaking to celebrants on the island.

“It’s been 50 years since the occupation,” Kaepernick said. “And that struggle has continued for that 50 years … It’s our responsibility to honor our ancestors and honor our elders by carrying on that struggle. Don’t let their sacrifices be in vain. That’s why it’s important for all of us to be here today — to show that we’re together, that we’re unified, that we have that solidarity. And I hope to spend many more of these with you.”

Kaepernick also apparently attended the event in 2017.

Kaepernick also retweeted an article by Washington Post writer Christopher Petrella who indicated Thanksgiving was racist.

“Antebellum campaigns to establish Thanksgiving as nat’l holiday grew up alongside colonizationist efforts to remove free Black people from U.S. Nationalization advocates mobilized white fears of Black equality to build support for holiday,” he said in the post retweeted by Kaepernick.

Kaepernick released a hype video Monday, days after he worked out for a handful of NFL teams at an Atlanta-area high school in hopes of making a still-elusive return to the league.

The video showed Kaepernick launching passes to receivers during his workout at Charles Drew High School. It also included a message to the media after his workout that he was ready to come back and compete again in the NFL.

There have been conflicting reports on whether any NFL teams are interested in the quarterback after his midseason workout. ESPN reported Sunday that no teams have reached out to Kaepernick to work him out further, while his attorney appeared on Adam Carolla’s podcast last week and said at least two teams were interested. The attorney didn’t specify which teams.

Would you believe that back in 2017 GQ named this idiot their “Man of the Year”?

The same cover for the magazine “GQ:, also known as “Gentleman’s Quarterly”, had featured in bold print in the upper right corner the words “America’s New Heroes”.

Really?

When I asked my computer for the definition of that word, bing.com responded

a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities: “a war hero”

At that time, I examined Mr. Kaepernick’s qualifications for that title.

“courage” – What inspired him to take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem at an NFL Game? Was he, in fact, kneeling because of some sort of perceived injustice to America’s black population by the men and women of America’s Municipal Police Forces, as alleged by those members of the NFLPA, who have been following his actions this year, like lemmings over a cliff in a Disney “Real Life Adventure” such as we grew up watching in our classrooms, decades ago?

Hardly. on 8/29/16, DailyCaller.com reported that

The report from sports gossip blog Terez Owens states, “As the entire world knows by now, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the National Anthem in Friday’s pre-season game against Green Bay because he was protesting ‘black oppression’ in the United States. We’re now hearing that it was actually his girlfriend Nessa’s idea for Colin to protest. Colin and his girlfriend, Nessa Diab, an MTV DJ, are still planning an Islamic-style wedding.”

“outstanding achievements” – Kaepernick’s mother gave him up for adoption. He was adopted by the Kaepernicks, a well-off white couple, who already had two children. He went on to play college football at the University of Nevada, where he was named the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year twice and became the only player in NCAA Division I FBS history to amass 10,000 passing yards and 4,000 rushing yards in a career. After graduating, he was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft.

Nice life, great sports statistics, but hardly “heroic”. The NFL Owners must not be that impressed, either, as he remains to this day, unemployed.

“noble qualities” – Showing a lack of respect for the national anthem and flag of the country which has given you the opportunity to make a ridiculous salary for playing a game which Americans grew up playing in their yards, is hardly an exercise in nobility.

Rather it is an act of petulance, brought about by a Liberal Popular Culture which has been molded and led by leaders who repeatedly tell young minds full of mush that America is a horrible, unjust nation, who is responsible for all the evils in this world.

During the Administration of Barack Hussein Obama, children and young adults, attending American Institutes of Learning from kindergarten to college campuses were taught by Liberal teachers and professors that America was “just another country” and to be a patriot was to somehow be close-minded, ignorant, and bigoted, not necessarily in that order.

Colin Kaepernick and those players who followed him in his disrespecting of our National Anthem cost the NFL an enormous amount of money in both advertising revenue and game attendance.

Lasting damage from which they have never really recovered.

No NFL Team in their right mind is going to sign Colin Kaepernick.

He is going to fade into obscurity just like the NBA’s Allen Iverson.

Iverson is a jerk, also…but at least he had talent.

Did Disney Make “Black-ish” Cancel an Episode About the NFL Protests?

Respect_America_final_crop_2__37487.1519235151.1280.1280-640x480

“If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL, or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU’RE FIRED. Find something else to do!” – Donald J. Trump on Twitter

NBC Sports Pro Football Talk reports that

The ABC sitcom Black-ish has never shied away from hot-button political topics. But NFL anthem protests are apparently a bridge too far.

Kenya Barris, the creator of Black-ish, confirmed that ABC declined to run an episode of the show that included characters arguing over football players kneeling for the national anthem. The episode was set to run on February 27 but was replaced with a rerun, and ABC has no plans to air the episode or make it available on any other platform.

“Given our creative differences, neither ABC nor I were happy with the direction of the episode and mutually agreed not to air it,” Barris told Variety. “‘Black-ish’ is a show that has spoken to all different types of people and brought them closer as a community and I’m so proud of the series.”

There’s been no indication that the NFL leaned on Disney (which owns ABC and ESPN) not to air the show, although Disney has been accused of kowtowing to the NFL in the past. In 2013, a report that the NFL pressured ESPN to pull out of a PBS Frontline show about concussions was denied by the NFL. In 2003, the NFL convinced ESPN to cancel the entertainment show Playmakers, which depicted professional football players engaged in illegal activities.

Six months ago, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the NFL needs to move past the anthem issue. Six months later, this latest controversy shows the country has still not moved past it.

Hey, gentle readers, do you want to know why the Commish said that the NFL needed to “move past” the protests six months ago?

And, why that episode of “Black-ish” did not air?

“Creative differences”, my hindquarters.

In both cases, it was all about the Benjamins.

Per Breitbart.com from an article posted January 28th…

With the 2017 NFL season now down in the record books as having lost another ten percent in TV ratings, the league has found a $30 million dip in ad revenue, a report says.
As the final numbers for advertisement sales for the season were tallied, the league discovered that its revenue fell 1.2 percent because “makegoods” rose to beat rate increases. A makegood is a partial repayment of money charged to advertisers because the viewership did not reach the expected numbers to justify the top rate.

Revenue was reported at “$2.42 billion, down from $2.45 billion in 2016,” according to media industry trade magazine Ad Week. That is a $30 million loss according to Awful Announcing.

Even though advertisement rates went up on average across the networks, the hike in fees did not beat the paybacks that the league had to repay to its customers.

By November, Roger Goodell could fell the hot breath of torqued-off fans on the back of his neck. A Fox News Poll taken back then showed that

Forty-four percent think kneeling during the national anthem is appropriate, up from 41 percent who felt that way last month and 32 percent who said so last September.  Sill, a majority thinks it is inappropriate (52 percent).

Most Republicans (88 percent inappropriate vs. 12 percent appropriate), baby boomers (61-33 percent), men (60-37 percent), and whites (60-38 percent) think kneeling during the national anthem is inappropriate.

The opposite is true for Democrats (67 percent appropriate vs. 27 percent inappropriate), millennials (65-32 percent), and nonwhites (61-30 percent) who think kneeling is an apt form of protest.

Women (50 percent appropriate vs. 45 percent inappropriate) and independents (46-50 percent) are more divided on the issue.

Voters who have an unfavorable opinion of the N.F.L overwhelmingly think kneeling is inappropriate (78 percent), while those who view the NFL favorably think it’s appropriate (62 percent).

So, the question remains “Did Disney force the shelving of that episode of “Black-ish”?

I believe that they did.

The Disney Empire, including its Theme Parks, relies on the good will of average Americans.

If average Americans stop supporting Disney and all of their entities, including Disneyland and Disney World, the Disney Corporation will be in a world of hurt.

And, ABC is owned by Disney.

I believe that what we have witnessed in the case of the backlash against the NFL Protesters is the same thing that happened on November 8, 2016.

Just like the Presidential Election, average Americans decided that we had had enough of the intentional tearing apart of the fabric of our nation at the seams, for the sake of political expediency and selfish gain.

Just like the Democrats found out on November 8, 2016, average Americans will tolerate being abused and lectured to for only so long, before we let you know “how the cow ate the cabbage”.

And, in the case of the 2017 NFL Regular Season, a lesson was taught by average Americans, the NFL Fans who burned their Season Tickets and NFL Jerseys, and stayed at home instead of going to the games.

If that episode of “Black-ish” had aired, loyal Disney Fans may have damaged that brand like the loyal NFL Fans damaged the league…by taking a big bite out of their revenue stream.

And, if that happened, Goofy may have been laid off…and he would have been forced to seek a new job which he was qualified for.

And, unfortunately, the Democratic Party already has a Chairman.

GQ Names Colin Kaepernick “Man of the Year”and Hails Him as a “Hero”: Why They are Wrong. – A KJ Op Ed

untitled (180)

It’s ironic that we have now a quarterback who was adopted and raised by a white family, who was scouted and signed by white scouts, was employed by white owners, the National Football League, decides now to steal the stage of the National Football League to make personal statements during the week he is about to be cut from the team because of his inability to play.  I don’t now know if he’ll be cut.  It’s a question for the 49ers to deal with. – Rush Limbaugh, 8/29/16

Yahoo Sports reported yesterday that

It’s November, and that means numerous media outlets will be starting to look back at 2017 and all of the events and people that shaped the year and drove discussion.

Men’s magazine GQ is one of the first to do so, going a slightly different route with its 22nd annual “Man of the Year” selections – the publication announced three men and one woman on Monday, using four categories. Actress Gal Godot is named “Wonder Woman of the Year,” late-night host Stephen Colbert is “Bad Hombre of the Year” and two athletic stars garnered the final two: NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant is “Champion of the Year,” and former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is the publication’s “Citizen of the Year.”

“He’s been vilified by millions and locked out of the NFL—all because he took a knee to protest police brutality,” GQ editors wrote in an article about him, “Colin Kaepernick will not be silenced,” begins. “But Colin Kaepernick’s determined stand puts him in rare company in sports history: Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson—athletes who risked everything to make a difference.”

While so many have demanded that he do a splashy interview with one of sports media’s big names to promise that he really does love football and really does want to play and really can put football first over his activism and whatever other demands they feel they can make of a grown man that they haven’t made of other NFL players who are not currently employed, Kaepernick has largely stayed silent.

He did, however, actively work with GQ on this project, though he wasn’t quoted: he got some of his closest friends and advisers, from acclaimed filmmaker Ava DuVernay to legendary actor Harry Belafonte to his former 49ers teammate Eric Reid to his longtime girlfriend, Nessa, and others to speak on his behalf.

Kaepernick wanted to reclaim the narrative of his protest, the magazine explained, because while he enjoys his silence, he also understands that “silence creates a vacuum, and that if it doesn’t get filled somehow, someone else will fill it for him,” the magazine’s editorial team writes.

The 30-year-old did pose for photographs: on his cover, his afro is resplendent, and he’s wearing a black turtleneck and black leather blazer, a gold chain and pendant over the turtleneck. He’s staring straight ahead; his eyes look sad. In another, he wears a colorful dashiki, a garment with roots in West Africa and worn in other parts of the continent, and is surrounded by dozens of men, women and children.

Belafonte, who was one of Martin Luther King Jr.’s confidants during the Civil Rights movement, said, “In my 90th year of life, to see people like Colin Kaepernick having gotten the message and carrying the cause forward is the greatest reward I could ask for. Colin is a remarkable young man. The fact that he spoke out on police brutality against young black men—I thought it was absolutely admirable. I’m prepared to do anything it takes and whatever steps I can to support him if this insanity continues.”

GQ named another NFL quarterback, Tom Brady, among its men of the year in 2015.

The same cover for the magazine “GQ:, also known as “Gentleman’s Quarterly”, has featured in bold print in the upper right corner the words “America’s New Heroes”.

“noble qualities” – Showing a lack of respect for the national anthem and flag of the country which has given you the opportunity to make a ridiculous salary for playing a game which Americans grew up playing in their yards, is hardly an exercise in nobility.

What Colin Kaepernick, the still-employed NFL Players who have been protesting, and these “New American heroes which the Liberal Rag, “GQ” is presently lauding, fail to understand is the source of America’s exceptionalism as a Sovereign Nation.

Where the exceptionalism of America lies…is not in the Halls of Power…nor in the Halls of Academia. But, rather in the courage and spirit of the average American. A courage and spirit, which our history proves, has driven American Citizens to build a nation, which is indeed exceptional among all others.

The secret of this country’s exceptionalism is the “Average Joe”, the 9 to 5′er, working himself into the grave to try to provide for his family.

It was this same “Average Joe”, who fired the shot heard around the world and began the War for American Independence, who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day in World War II, who waded through rice paddies in Vietnam, and who swallowed sand in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. The same “Average Joe” who, as a New York City Policeman or Fireman, ran up the stairs of the World Trade Center on 9/11/01, instead of running down them. The same “Average Joe”, who simply wants things to be easier in this life for his children and grandchildren, than he had it.

It is this same “Average Joe”, who takes family and friends in, when they are in the midst of a life-altering tragedy. The same “Average Joe”, who volunteers on a soup line or at a Senior Citizens Home, or, who begins a successful business in his basement.

These are America’s REAL “Heroes”.

And, it is this same “Average Joe” whom, being fed up with the Democratic Party’s Far Left Crusade against anything and everything traditionally American, went to the voting booth and elected Donald J. Trump, a Citizen Statesman, as our 45th President.

Average Americans no sooner believe that Donald J. Trump colluded with the Russians to “fix” the Presidential Election than they do that the Main Stream Media is objective.

And that, boys and girls, is why the NFL and the rest of the followers of America’s minority political philosophy, known as Liberals are still showing the world their posteriors while continuing to throw the longest mass temper tantrum in recorded history.

So, “GQ”, go ahead and call an ungrateful loser like Colin Kaepernick a “hero”.

Judging by the multitude of empty seats in NFL Stadiums last Sunday, it is very evident that you do not know what that word means.

As the NFL Dies, Ownership Committee to Discuss Contract Extension for Goodell. Are You Kidding Me?

DOcuFV7W0AAx4p0

The left has got this game in its sights. I have warned everybody about this. When I do, people think I’m a nut, a kook. “Nobody can bring down the NFL, what are you talking about, Rush? You see politics in everything and you think that these political forces on the left have the ability to bring about change.” What in the world is happening to our culture, folks? The left targets something it doesn’t like and they never give up and they keep going until they ruin it. And I’m telling you, National Football League is in their crosshairs right now. – Rush Limbaugh, September 10, 2014

ESPN.com reports that

The NFL’s Compensation Committee will hold a conference call Monday to discuss and further push ahead the proposed extension for commissioner Roger Goodell, sources confirmed to ESPN.

The conference call, first reported Saturday by The New York Times, comes after Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones voiced his displeasure about the contract extension that the committee has been discussing. The call also gives the committee a chance to do what it believes is right.

An attorney for Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says NFL owners are being misled about negotiations on a contract extension for commissioner Roger Goodell, according to a letter that was sent to the league’s counsel and shared with NFL owners and executives.

The committee will address Goodell’s salary and compensation package. The last written counterproposal from Goodell, which was around the first of August, was seeking about $49.5 million per year, as well as the lifetime use of a private jet and lifetime health insurance for his family, according to a source familiar with the negotiations.

Joe Lockhart, the executive vice president of communications, denied that Goodell had submitted such a written counterproposal. He also said there have been several meetings or conference calls among the compensation committee before Monday’s scheduled meeting.

The source who originally provided the information on Goodell’s “only written counterproposal” of $50 million with the perks is standing firm on the matter. The source only clarified that Goodell’s monetary proposal was for $49.5 million.

Goodell currently makes around $30 million per year.

One NFL owner told ESPN that there are “several owners in this league who don’t make $40 million a year.” The owner was referring to the salaries that owners take, which does not include the increase in valuations that each NFL franchise has undergone.

“That number for Roger just seems too much,” the owner said. “It’s offensive. It’s unseemly.”

One NFL executive told ESPN that the committee should pass a rule that prohibits Goodell from making more than the league’s highest-paid player.

An attorney for Jones has said that owners are being misled about the Goodell negotiations, according to a letter obtained by ESPN that was sent late Wednesday to the league’s counsel and shared with team owners and executives. Jones has threatened to file a lawsuit if Goodell’s extension is completed without final review or approval from the league’s 32 teams.

Brad Karp, the league’s outside counsel retained for this matter, said in response that Jones was uninformed or deliberately misleading other owners, a source told ESPN.

There also are those in the league who believe the only way Goodell would not stay on as commissioner would be if he walked away. But according to sources who know Goodell, this will not happen.

“Roger is defiant,” one NFL owner told ESPN this weekend. “He’s not going to resign; he’s not going to take a pay cut. He can stand to show some humility, but he won’t listen to staff.”

Those around Goodell do not believe he will leave the job, despite the protestations of a handful of owners.

“I don’t sense that at all from him,” one source who is regularly around Goodell told ESPN. “He has said he’s committed to it. He feels there are important issues he has to deal with.”

Yet there are issues that other owners aside from Jones are aware of, and they are wrestling now with how to best handle it.

“The problem is, no one is talking about games anymore,” one owner told ESPN this weekend. “It’s about concussions, Jones vs. Goodell, [Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension], the anthem. No one is talking about football. It’s just killing the game.”

I can explain the problem that the NFL now faces in three words…and the first two are “Roger Goodell”.

Last Thursday, Rush Limbaugh asked and answered the following rhetorical questions on his nationally syndicated radio program, which has a listener base of over 20 million Americans…

Why would somebody purposely want to steer something as large and, up until now perceived as apolitical, to the left? What is the left known for? What is the left proud of? What does the left want you to know about? They don’t like this country. They think this country has deep flaws. They think this country is racist. They think this country has a bunch of racist cops that are just wantonly murdering innocent black men. This is what the left thinks, among many other perverted and screwball things. Why would you purposely want to steer your league toward that identity, when you know that it’s going to alienate statistically half of your fans? Why would you want to do this? On the other hand, I could understand why you would want people to think that your league is patriotic, that it believes in the time-honored American principles of hard work and discipline and teamwork.

You know, there are several identifying characteristics of conservatism that I would fully expect a sports league and its executives to want to identify with. I could understand if a sports league chose not to actively appear to be moving in that direction because liberals — some of them — go to games. Some of them watch, and some of them buy sponsored products.

Up ’til now, the NFL, other than a couple of players and their endorsements of presidents, and until recently the owners even stayed out of it. The owners were involved, but you never knew about it. Dan Rooney of the Steelers openly came out for Obama. Others, like Bob Kraft in New England, came out for Trump. But aside from that, this league pretty much had an apolitical identity.

And then when this protest stuff started, it became clear that the executive leadership of the NFL was in fact siding with the players. They had no desire, despite I think everybody should stand for the anthem, they took not one step to make that happen. They continued to let the people playing the game inflict damage on it. Why would you do that? You have a business to run here.

Well, the answer to the question is found in what is liberalism. And if you are dyed-in-the-wool liberal, everything must be. And if you have a powerful executive position or any other kind of position and you’re liberal, you’ve got to use it to advance it, to spread it, and if that means taking your league in that direction because you believe in it, that’s what you do, whether it inflicts damage or not.

…The news about the NFL is about player suspensions, about wife beating, spousal abuse, what kind of penalties there are for it, and the media seems to eat this up, the sports media seems to relish reporting this stuff. You can watch them, you can see how excited they get talking about all this other stuff. And because they’re media and because the NFL is a big corporate entity, the fact the NFL might be being harmed by this is exciting because that’s one of the objectives of liberalism is to damage corporations ’cause they’re not people. They’re all suspects. But these media people are the ones living off of the success of the NFL, and there they are openly participating in what many people think is the downfall.

So now all of a sudden the commissioner comes out and says, “Fans attend our games to be entertained, not be protested to.” Where was this two months ago? Where was this a year and a half ago when Kaepernick got all this started? Where’s this been? Why now? Is it ’cause of Papa John’s leaving or threatening to? Some of this stuff, just from the standpoint of proper management, business thinking and decision-making, just flummoxes me.

And the answer is this is what liberalism is. It is a destructive force, and the people who believe in it and practice it believe that it must be forced on everybody, primarily because most people would not choose it. They have to be indoctrinated with it from very young age in school, they have to be propagandized about it, but if left to an open choice with a decent education, people will not choose it.

I take that back. Some will because you don’t have to do much to be a liberal. You just have to convince people you care about suffering. You don’t have to do anything about it. All you have to know is who to blame for it. And you can end up being a great liberal.

You guessed it. The third word that describes the problem that the NFL must now deal with is “Liberalism”.

It appears to this average American that Rush Limbaugh is exactly right about this fact that Roger Goodell and the Executive Staff of the National Football League sat back and ALLOWED the players and outside Liberal Influencers to drag the NFL to the point of almost inevitable demise.

And, as I have written before, it is now quite apparent to anyone with a lick of common sense that this organized protest by the NFL Players has NEVER been about  “Police Brutality” against black Americans.

It has always been about Donald J. Trump being elected the President of the United States of America.

Just like the “New Bolsheviks” which have been paid by Billionaire Financier and Far Left Activist George Soros and others to stage “spontaneous” protests since the night of November 8, 2016, these ongoing protests by the NFL Players were designed to humiliate the president in the eyes of the world and to somehow force his departure from office.

The problem for the Goodell, his staff, and the NFL Players Association is the fact that the American Public does not support their protests as exhibited by the scarcely filled stadiums across the league.

What makes these protests different from others, including those thrown by the fascists of Antifa, is the fact that the NFL is a Private Organization and the players are violating the rules of that organization by protesting ON THE JOB.

The American Public realize that…even if the players don’t.

Hence the 180 degree turn by Goodell, as seen in his statement that fans come to the games to be “entertained” and not “protested to”.

He is now trying to save his phony baloney job.

The NFL Chapter of the “New Bolsheviks” appear oblivious to the fact that they are in the process of slitting their own throats, monetarily. NFL Revenues are decreasing every week at an alarming rate and will continue to fall as these concussion-prone athletes parade their political ideology in front of an audience who did not wish to see or hear about it in the first place.

It appears to this average American, that if the NFL Team Owners do not purge the emphasis on protests powered by the minority political ideology known as Liberalism, fire Goodell, and stop the financial bleeding of the NFL immediately by forbidding the NFL Players from protesting on Company Time, Goodell will go down in history as the LAST COMMISSIONER OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

Liberals ruin everything.

NFL’s Popularity Continues to Drop As Americans Find Better Things to Do – A KJ Analysis

untitled (180)

…it’s media people, supposed educated, learned people who are — further, it’s all part of the effort to make these guys look oppressed and discriminated against and so forth. And, of course, whatever they do, why that can’t be divisive. Why, that’s only uplifting. When it is divisive, and you can look at the stands and TV ratings to see that it is. It’s just common sense. It’s now in utter, total denial. – Rush Limbaugh on NFL Protests, 9/25/17

Foxnews.com reports that

The National Football League is taking some hits these days.  A new Fox News Poll finds that since 2013, the league’s favorable rating has dropped 18 points.

Today, 46 percent of voters have a positive view of the N.F.L. while 41 percent view it negatively.  Four years ago (the last time the question was asked), 64 percent had a positive view of the league and 19 percent were critical.

“If the NFL were a political candidate, alarm bells would be going off in campaign headquarters,” says Democratic Pollster Chris Anderson who conducts the Fox News Poll with Republican Pollster Daron Shaw.

The downward shift on favorability comes mainly from Republicans (-37 points), whites (-23 points), men (-23 points), and independents (-14 points).

Majorities of Democrats and nonwhites continue to have a favorable view of the N.F.L, yet there’s also a drop in favorability among these groups. Positive sentiment among Democrats is down 6 points (66 percent in 2013 to 60 percent now) while among nonwhites it is down 3 (64-61 percent).

N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell made clear in an October 10 letter to team executives that the league thinks “everyone should stand for the National Anthem.”  Americans, however, are increasingly more likely to think kneeling is an appropriate form of protest.

The Fox News poll is based on landline and cellphone interviews with 1,005 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide and was conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from October 22-24, 2017.  The poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points for all registered voters.

Okay. Here we go…

What this poll actually shows has nothing at all to do with the NFL.

It has to do with the same dynamic that we are witnessing being played out daily in the 24/7 Cable News Cycle and in the few newspapers that are left across this country.

This nation is still experiencing a Political Division of a magnitude never before seen.

A Political Division which came to fruition during the 8 long arduous years of the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama.

The NFLPA was not protesting during those years, however. Just Colin Kaepernick and he did it to impress his Muslim girlfriend, a poor choice which led to his present unemployment, along with the cold hard fact that he is actually not that good of a quarterback.

No matter the feeble explanations which have been given by the NFL Players themselves, the fact of the matter is that the election of Donald J. Trump and the poor advice of external Liberal Protest Groups, such as Black Lives Matter, have caused these players, at least some of whom graduated college Thank You, Laudy, instead of Cum Laude, to make the decision to kneel and disrespect the flag and the national anthem of a country which has made them multi-millionaires for playing a game which the majority of American kids growing up in the Heartland played out in our yards with our friends.

I have written before that those who have influenced these players to kneel have played these poor saps for suckers.

I truly believe that.

If you don’t believe that to be the case, go back and read all of the articles, written by Liberal writers bemoaning the “violent NFL” and the subsequent articles written about the “Concussion Scandal” in the league.

Heck, go rent Will Smith’s bomb of a movie about the “problem”, titled simply “Concussion”.

Liberals have always turned up their noses at the NFL AND their fans.

What better way to kill two birds with one stone than to convince the players that it is cool to protest on “company time” by sharing a minority political philosophy through insulting our municipal police forces and the symbols of our country at the same time?

Who in their right mind would believe that would be accepted by average Americans?

Probably the same simpletons who believed the National Polls predicting that Hillary Clinton would be the 45th President of the United States of America.

Buh Bye, NFL

You turned America’s Pastime into Political Theater.

And, American turned you off.

Until He Comes,

Of Jessica Chambers, NFL Protests, and the Dissolving Family Unit – A KJ Op Ed

jessica-chambers-1 (2)

It is no secret to anyone who has read my posts for a while that I was originally born in Memphis, Tennessee and current reside in Northwest Mississippi, right across the state line.

The most talked about murder case down here in years in finally coming to trial.

FoxNews.com reports that…

Jury selection began Monday in the trial of a man accused of dousing a 19-year-old former high school cheerleader with a flammable liquid, setting her ablaze and leaving her to die along a north Mississippi back road.

Quinton Tellis, 29, has been charged with the murder of Jessica Chambers on Dec. 6, 2014, and faces life in prison without parole if convicted. Tellis has pleaded not guilty.

Opening arguments and testimony are expected to begin Tuesday morning, with prosecutors expecting to call more than 40 witnesses in a trial that could last up to two weeks, the Commercial-Appeal reported.

Firefighters in Courtland, Miss., found Chambers beside her burning car on a remote road near a tree farm. Chambers was quickly taken to a Memphis hospital, about 60 miles to the north, with burns over 98 percent of her body. She died hours later.

District Attorney John Champion of Panola County said that he believed it was a “personal crime” as Tellis and Chambers knew each other, and not related to drug or gang activity, even though 17 suspected gang members were arrested as a result of the investigation. The prosecutor has not revealed to reporters what Chambers told firefighters when they found her.

Investigators were stymied early on because they received no information from “street sources,” leading them to theorize that the killing was committed by one person who told no one what happened, Champion had said.

Authorities have said about 20,000 telephone numbers were analyzed as part of the investigation, more than 150 people were questioned and investigators traveled to Iowa and Chattanooga, Tenn.

Relatives have described Chambers as friendly and outgoing. She had been a cheerleader and softball player at South Panola High School.

Chambers’ mother, Lisa, has said her daughter liked to smile and playfully stick out her tongue at people. She was trusting of others, making her mother wonder if her outgoing personality had gotten her into trouble.

“She didn’t think anybody could harm her or would want to,” Lisa Chambers has said.

But as the trial approached, Lisa Chambers declined to discuss the case. She has told reporters she spoke with her daughter by phone about an hour before she was found.

When Tellis was indicted, Champion said, investigators worked to figure out where the victim was between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. the day she was burned and they had “absolutely filled that hour in.” The 19-year-old was found shortly after 8 p.m. that night.

Tellis has prior convictions for burglary and fleeing police. He was released from prison in October 2014 — two months before Chambers’ killing.

Tellis faces another murder indictment in Louisiana, where he’s accused in the torture death of Meing-Chen Hsiao, a 34-year-old Taiwanese graduate student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. That indictment alleges that Tellis probably stabbed Hsiao more than 30 times in her face and body with a knife to get her to reveal her debit card’s PIN number before killing her on July 29, 2015. He was extradited to Mississippi from Louisiana in June after pleading guilty to fraudulent use of Hsiao’s card.

Area resident Beth Brasher, 40, said she knows Tellis and says he “comes from a good family.” Asked about the Chambers case, she said she believes Tellis is wrongly accused, but acknowledged the crime “tore up” the community.

“That girl died a horrible, horrendous death that she didn’t deserve,” Brasher said.

As I write this post, the jury has now been seated.

I had a stepson who played football for one of the local high school teams down here. Every year they played South Panola and every year they got run off the field. It’s not that the team my stepson played on was a bad team. They weren’t. It was just that South Panola was always a very good team.

What I can remember about them was the fact that they were huge. They all appeared to be young black men in their 20s and their dominance on the field reminded me of the old Grambling State Tiger Football Games that I used to watch at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday nights on the local NBC Affiliate, WMCTV 5, as a kid in the 70s, before Saturday Night Live took over that time slot.

I absolutely loved the halftime shows.

But, I digress…

I was thinking about poor young Jessica and the worthless waste of oxygen who took her life and the monstrous way in which he did it and I thought about another story which I have written several posts about recently.

As you no doubt noticed, Fox News reported that 17 suspected gang members were questioned during the murder investigation.

Gangs are big in that area, with some of them even sending “scouts” into the middle schools up where I live, to recruit young thug wannabes.

Gangs have become so successful around the country due to the dissolution of the Black Family Unit.

And that, boys and girls, is a stone cold fact.

As I wrote last week,

“Back in July of 2013, CNN Reporter Don Lemon (who happens to be black) caught a bunch of grief for saying,

Just because you can have a baby, it doesn’t mean you should. Especially without planning for one or getting married first. More than 72 percent of children in the African-American community are born out of wedlock. That means absent fathers. And the studies show that lack of a male role model is an express train right to prison and the cycle continues.

Politifact.com researched the statement and found out that Lemon was correct. As of the 2010 Census, Black American Babies were experiencing a 73% illegitimacy rate.

If the NFL and its players, Modern American Liberals, both black and white, Democrat and Republican, in Municipal, State, and National Leadership Positions, would focus their angst and “concern” on the society-altering, continuing dissolution of the Black Family Unit and work instead toward the restoration of the Black Family Unit, instead of attempting to blame our city’s police officers for the violence in our streets, perhaps the stifling defeatism of the cycle of Generational Poverty and Crime, and the violence it brings, would eventually be a thing of the past, or greatly diminished, anyway.

Then, I wouldn’t be awakened every morning, by the Local News in Memphis, to stories about Black Americans killing each other, or mobs of Black Teenagers beating up innocent people, such as seen in the story from Denver featured earlier in this post.

And American Families could actually watch an enjoyable Sunday Afternoon of professional football again, without the players’ public displays of their private political ideology spoiling it for everybody.

But, then again…that would make too much sense.

And, if someone would have provided a male role model in that young murder’s life, pretty young Jessica Chambers might still be alive.

Actions have consequences.

Whether it be having a baby out of wedlock just because you can,

Disrespecting our flag, our nation, and the people who pay you money to play a game,

or

Dousing a beautiful young woman in gasoline and lighter fluid and setting her ablaze,

It all has to do with being “raised in the way in which you should go”.

If the National Football League Players really want to “kneel in solidarity with the community”, they need to go kneel in the middle of Clarksdale, Mississippi…or Inner City Chicago…or North and South Memphis.

Kneeling in the middle of beautiful football Arenas on national television when you are supposed to be doing your job is not accomplishing anything, except lost revenue.

But, then again, it is a lot easier than actually trying to make a difference.

Jessica Chambers would agree. If she could.

Until He Comes,

KJ

NFL Sunday: Pence Pawns Protesters…Jones Jolts Jocks…Fans Flee

Mike-Pence-NFL-protest-rtr-img

Well, another Sunday Afternoon in America, and another opportunity for NFL Players to show Americans their backsides.

Only this time, an American Leader kicked them in it.

FoxNews.com reports that

Vice President Mike Pence walked out on his home-state Indianapolis Colts Sunday when members of the opposing team kneeled for the national anthem, but a report that Colin Kaepernick, the player who started it all, will stand if given another shot in the NFL was quickly dialed back.

“I left today’s Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem,” Pence tweeted.

Several San Francisco 49ers players kneeled for the anthem on Sunday in Indianapolis.

Pence later posted a statement which read, “I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem. At a time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us.”

“While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I don’t think it’s too much to ask NFL players to respect the Flag and our National Anthem,” he continued. “I stand with President Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and National Anthem.”

President Donald Trump later tweeted, “I asked @VP Pence to leave stadium if any players kneeled, disrespecting our country. I am proud of him and @SecondLady Karen.”

Trump’s son Eric also took to Twitter Sunday, writing, “Vice President Pence is truly an amazing man! Thank you for standing up for our country and for the respect of our great flag! @VP”

While a quarterback for the 49ers last year, Colin Kaepernick sat or kneeled during the national anthem last season to bring more attention to the killings of black men by police officers. The protests have grown this season.

Meanwhile, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora corrected his report that had claimed Kaepernick would stand during the national anthem if given a chance to play football in the NFL again.

“Wanted to clarify one thing regarding @Kaepernick7. When I was asked about his whether or not he would sit or stand for anthem …” La Canfora tweeted after the report came out earlier Sunday.

“Standing for Anthem wasn’t something that I spoke to Colin about,” the reporter added. “I relayed what had been reported about him standing in the future…”

“Reports about @Kaepernick7 standing for anthem had not been refuted,” La Canfora wrote. “However, I can’t say if they are true or not. Colin and I didn’t discuss.”

In another message, La Canfora said, “Colin would have to address any future demonstrations. I didn’t ask him if he would sit or stand. Our chat primarily about his will to play.”

“I know @Kaepernick7 is fully committed to playing football and helping those in need. What he would do during the Anthem I do not know,” he wrote.

The reporter added that Kaepernick has been living in New York and working out privately in New Jersey with the hope of signing with a team this season.

“After sitting down with Colin Kaepernick for several hours, @JasonLaCanfora says the QB is still actively trying to play in the NFL,” NFLonCBS tweeted Sunday, including a video.

“He’s not planning on kneeling, he’s going to donate all his jersey sales, and he’s planning on standing for the anthem, if given the opportunity,” La Canfora initially said in the video segment.

On Sunday, Kaepernick’s girlfriend, radio personality Nessa Diab, took to Twitter.

“The reports that Colin will stand for the anthem are completely false! He has never discussed this with anyone,” she posted.

Kaepernick retweeted Diab’s message.

Of course he did.

Meanwhile… per DallasNews.com

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers that any Cowboy who “disrespects the flag” will not play.Said Jones:  “If there is anything disrespecting the flag, then we will not play. Period. We’re going to respect the flag and I’m going to create the perception of it. …

“I know this. We cannot in the NFL, in any way, give the implication that we tolerate disrespecting the flag. We cannot do that. I know the vice president did leave because in his opinion, the teams were. We know that there is a serious debate in this country about those issues. But there is no question in my mind that the National Football League and the Dallas Cowboys are going to stand up for the flag. Just so we’re clear.”

In response, the NFL Players Association issued the following statement…

NFL players are union members and part of the labor movement that has woven the fabric of America for generations. Our men and their families are also conscientious Americans who continue to be forces for good through our communities and some have decided to use their platform to peacefully raise awareness to issues that deserve attention.

It is a source of enormous pride that some of the best conversations about these issues have taken place in our locker rooms in a respectful, civil and thoughtful way that should serve as a model for how all of us can communicate with each other.

We should not stifle these discussions and cannot allow our rights to become subservient to the very opinions our Constitution protects. That is what makes us the land of the free and home of the brave.

Gentlemen, this is America.

You have the right to your opinion…an opinion that was limited to just a couple of you before November 8, 2016.

An opinion which has your base down 31% and which has caused you to drop to the position of the least favorite professional sport in America, trailing Major League Baseball and Professional Basketball.

Your opinion has also cost your league and the owners of your respective teams BIG money. Money which they had to give back to sponsors because of the NFL’s failure to meet promised revenue projections in order to secure lucrative advertisers’ partnerships.

That’s not even counting the empty stadium seats, which are so clearly visible that neither the league nor those televising the games can purposefully hide them anymore.

And, let’s not forget the stadium vendors and the peddlers of official NFL merchandise, such as jerseys and hats, which have been on display on Facebook as once loyal fans burn them in retribution for your on-field displays of your “Constitutional Right” to disrespect our flag and the playing of our National Anthem.

Now, Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones wants to “stop the bleeding” as he recognizes that moniker of “America’s Team” given to his NFL Franchise so many years ago, is no longer so, as Americans are finding something better to do on their Sunday Afternoons.

In my research for this post last night, after coming home from MY job, a real one, mind you, not a game we used to play with a Nerf Football in each other’s front yards,  I read where some of you were complaining that Vice-President Pence’s walking out after the 49s disrespected the flag and the national anthem was “staged”. Actually, he was there to watch a football game. Not a Political Demonstration.

You spoiled ungrateful brats protested our nation, so our nation’s Second-in-Command protested you right back.

Flipping off your fans, your Team Owners, and the majority of Americans, including those occupying the Halls of Power in Washington, DC, does not seem to be working out so well for you and your display of your “Constitutional Rights” while you are supposed to be a professional ON THE JOB, does it?

But, hey, no worries.

If you lose your jobs because of the decrease in revenue that your Political Demonstrations are causing, I’m sure that you “professionals” can find work.

After all, it is the time of year when companies are hiring “Seasonal Help”.

How do your guys look in a red suit and a white beard?

Repeat after me…

HO…HO…HO!

Until He Comes,

KJ

The NFL Protests Continue. Why Doesn’t Goodell Stop this Unpatriotic Disrespectful Spectacle? Because He Doesn’t Want to.

cleveland-browns-protests-1506880671.jpg

The left has got this game in its sights. I have warned everybody about this. When I do, people think I’m a nut, a kook. “Nobody can bring down the NFL, what are you talking about, Rush? You see politics in everything and you think that these political forces on the left have the ability to bring about change.” What in the world is happening to our culture, folks? The left targets something it doesn’t like and they never give up and they keep going until they ruin it. And I’m telling you, National Football League is in their crosshairs right now. – Rush Limbaugh, September 10, 2014

Yesterday, as what is left of their national audience watched, the so-called “professionals” of the National Football League continued their inappropriate, unpatriotic, and disrespectful behavior during the playing of our Sovereign Nation’s National Anthem.

Why is this continuing?

Because the CEO of this Private Organization is allowing it.

Charlie Goodell was a pipe-chewing liberal Republican appointed to the Senate after Robert Kennedy was murdered. He staged a series of insurrections against the GOP. The biggest had him walking arm-in-arm with Coretta Scott King and George McGovern during the Vietnam Moratorium. This activated Nixon’s enemy-slaying machine. During Goodell’s ’70 election campaign, Nixon threw his not-so-tacit support to the third-party conservative candidate; vice-president Spiro Agnew called Goodell the “Christine Jorgensen of the Republican Party”; Henry Kissinger whispered dirty thoughts into his secret recording system (“I despise Goodell”). Goodell finished third in a three-man race.

Roger Goodell was 11 years old on that Election Day. If I can play pop psychologist, I’d guess that event is his Rosebud. He admired Charlie Goodell’s idealism and still keeps a copy of his out-of-Vietnam speech in his NFL office. But the son had a different playbook than the father. Roger Goodell would never be outflanked by his enemies. He would rarely stray from the company line. He would accumulate power rather than challenge it — he would be the strongman, not the insurgent.            -Brian Curtis, Grantland.com, September 12, 2014

Back on November 10, 2016, just two days after average Americans elected Donald J. Trump as  the 45th President of the United States of America, cnn.com posted the following article…

One of many Americans shaken by the election of Donald Trump as president is NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who said Thursday that he was struggling to explain his victory to the women in his family. Asked whether his job was harder with Trump’s ascension, at a DealBook conference in New York, Goodell pivoted to how it challenged his home life.

“It makes my job harder at home, too,” Goodell said. “I have twin daughters and a wife, so I have to explain that to them. So, that’s yes on that front.”

Trump has been critical of the NFL commissioner, who became a lightning rod for controversy when the league suspended Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in the “Deflategate” scandal. Trump has claimed the Patriots quarterback as a major supporter.

Goodell nevertheless heralded how both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama had handled themselves in the wake of Tuesday’s upset.

“I think our country has to have more respect for one another, and we have to unite. I saw some very positive signs of that yesterday,” he said. “We have to unite. We have to address some of the issues and work together. President-elect Trump is our president, so let’s get behind him.”

Before the beginning of the NFL’s 2017-2018 Season, it appears to this average American that those same Liberals whom Rush Limbaugh spoke about in 2014, had spoken to Commissioner Goodell concerning giving said “professionals” the freedom to exercise their “First Amendment Rights” during the course of Game Day Activities.

It is now quite apparent to anyone with a lick of common sense that this organized protest by the NFL Players has NEVER been about  “Police Brutality” against black Americans.

It has always been about Donald J. Trump being elected the President of the United States of America.

Just like the “New Bolsheviks” which have been paid by Billionaire Financier and Far Left Activist George Soros and others to stage “spontaneous” protests since the night of November 8, 2016, these ongoing protests by the NFL Players are designed to humiliate the president in the eyes of the world and to somehow force his departure from office.

As I wrote last week, the problem with these protests, and what makes them different from the others, including those thrown by the fascists of Antifa, is the fact that the NFL is a Private Organization and the players are violating the rules of that organization by protesting ON THE JOB.

The NFL Chapter of the “New Bolsheviks” does not seem to comprehend that they are in the process of slitting their own throats, monetarily. NFL Revenues were down 18% last week and continue to fall as these concussion-prone athletes parade their political ideology in front of an audience who did not wish to see or hear about it in the first place.

It appears to this average American, that if Goodell does not put his big boy pants on, leave his SJW Brand of Liberalism at home, and stop the financial bleeding of the NFL immediately by forbidding the NFL Players from protesting on Company time, Goodell will go down in history as the LAST COMMISSIONER OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE.

Until He Comes,

KJ
