President Trump signed a proclamation Wednesday night to send the National Guard to the southern border immediately, a senior White House official told Fox News, in response to what the administration described as an “unacceptable” flow of drugs, criminal activity and illegal immigrants.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said at the White House press briefing that the signing would be done in conjunction with governors and that the administration hoped the deployment would begin “immediately.”

“Despite a number of steps this administration has taken…we continue to see unacceptable levels of illegal drugs, dangerous gang activity transnational criminal organizations and illegal immigration flow across our border,” she said.

“The president has directed that the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security work together with our governors to deploy our National Guard to our southwest border to assist the border patrol,” she said. “The president will be signing a proclamation to that effect today.”

Details about what the National Guard would do and how many would be deployed and for how long were not immediately disclosed.

Under the George W. Bush administration, deploying the National Guard to the border cost $415 million dollars.

Nielsen pointed to what she described as increasing fraud and exploited loopholes among arrivals on the southern border, saying traffickers have been advertising that if migrants have children with them, then they are more likely to be released into the U.S. She also said that almost 50 percent of arriving aliens are from Central America.

“Traffickers and smugglers know that these individuals cannot under U.S. law be easily removed in an expeditious way back to their country of origin and so they exploit the loophole,” she said, adding that the ability to game the system acts as a magnet for more migrants.

She said that the administration has drafted legislation and will ask Congress to provide legal authority and resources to address the problem.

“We will not allow illegal immigration levels to become the norm,” she said. “More than 1,000 people a day, 300,000 a year violating our sovereignty as a nation will never be acceptable to this president.”

Trump had tweeted earlier Wednesday that he would “be taking strong action today” on the Mexico border, a day after he said that he wants to send the military to secure it until a wall is built.

What we are witnessing, gentle readers, is a test of wills involving the willingness of those who have been entrusted with the security of our Sovereign Nation versus those who would break and enter our “home”.

What makes this incoming caravan from Latin America and those who are already here illegally exempt from the rules and regulations that every other generation of immigrants to this country had to abide by in order to become legal citizens of the greatest nation in the world?

By attempting to use our own benevolence against us, they seek to bypass the rules and regulations which immigrants before them have followed in order to become productive American Citizens.

Even as I write this, those who have entered illegally before the caravan are in our hospitals, taking advantage of our charity and the finest health care system in the world, and driving our streets, with either forged drivers licenses or those obtained from states who have acquiesced and given them to these “undocumented workers”.

Stopping this “Breaking and Entering” at our Southern Border is in no way a human rights issue.

Freedom is God-given, and with freedom comes responsibility….the responsibility to become a productive citizen. And, with that citizenship comes responsibility, like paying taxes and making your own way.

My concerns about granting asylum and, eventually, citizenship to those who have already invaded our country include the following…

1. Patriotism – Will these new “citizens” be willing to fly our flag above theirs? Will they be willing, if called upon, to serve in our Armed Forces, at home or abroad? Will they love this country, more than the one they left?

2. Loyalty – When these “new Americans” achieve the right to vote, are they all going to vote Democrat, so that they can receive more FREE STUFF? Is the Republican Party shooting themselves in both feet by pushing an outcome which will simply add new Democratic Voters? As I asked in the first point, will they honestly embrace our sovereign nation as their new home? Or, will they remain loyal to the Latin American Countries that they came from?

3.  Immigration – Are we rewarding illegal behavior, while at the same time, insulting all of the brave souls who have come here legally, seeking a better life for themselves and their families?

I understand that people want a better life for themselves and their children.  But there is a huge difference between immigrating here legally and sneaking in illegally, between assimilating into an existing culture, and insisting on replacing a country’s existing culture with that of the country you left.

I’m all for assisting anyone in becoming a legal citizen of the United States, if that is their wish.  But, they must enter our Sovereign Nation in the right way, showing a willingness to learn our language, and to embrace our American way of life, including respecting the American Flag.

America became a great nation because it is a melting pot of American-born and legally immigrated citizens with a shared allegiance, not a multi-cultural United Nations with everyone loyal to their home country.

As the diseases which Obama’s Mexican Munchkin Migration brought in with them in 2014 showed us, a wide-open Southern Border is as big a threat to the sovereignty of the United States as anything that our enemies can throw at us right now.

The caravan which is reportedly still heading toward the Southern Border is nothing but a political ploy and a way of testing the conviction of President Trump and the American People.

A test like this was previously attempted by our friends from down south from February 23 – March 6 in the year 1836 as they attempted to seize a small mission on the outskirts of San Antonio, Texas.

Some brave Americans, including a Former Tennessee Congressman sacrificed their lives during their siege.

For the sake of their memories, our nation’s sovereignty must be protected.

That is why President Trump had to send the National Guard to the border.

This is our country, bought and paid for by the blood of heroes.

America’s Liberty must remain a precious commodity.

And, when it comes down to it, Liberty is Freedom with Responsibility.
