Hundreds of Teens Run Wild in Downtown Chicago in Social Media “Teen Takeover “

“Hundreds of teenagers stormed the streets of downtown Chicago, smashing car windows, attacking bystanders and sending panicked tourists running from the sound of gunfire.

“Where are their parents at, that’s my question,” a woman who identified as a Chicago native told Fox 32 as the unruly scene played out in Downtown Chicago Saturday night.

Fox 32 cameras captured video of teenagers flooding the streets while police struggled to restore order to the area.

Large groups of teens were seen blasting music from Bluetooth speakers and spilling in front of traffic, with some attempting to gain access to the city’s Millennium Park, which is off limits to those under 21 after certain hours, and the downtown Art Institute.

Some teens in the group began jumping up and down on cars, smashing windows and attacking people inside. One woman told Fox 32 her husband was attacked from the driver side of his vehicle and beaten after a group of teens jumped up and down on the couple’s windshield. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Hundreds of police officers assisted by SWAT teams also descended on downtown in an attempt to restore order as gunfire was reported multiple times amid the unfolding scene.

Police were scene escorting frightened tourists back to their cars or hotels to escape the chaos, while traffic on Chicago’s Michigan Avenue ground to a halt as police attempted to restore order.

Police say a 6-year-old boy was shot in the arm near the Chicago Loop and a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg. Both were transported to Northwestern Hospital and listed in fair condition, according to a report from WLS.

So, the crazy folks living in Chicago elected a new mayor who is more of a Communist than “Beetlejuice” Lori Lightfoot, and all hell breaks loose.

Well, what did they expect?

Here’s an idea to prevent this from happening in the future:

How about raising children in the way in which they should go?

I can remember a time when the majority of young Americans, regardless of their race, were raised to be respectful of their elders, and to recognize the fact that there are absolutes in the concepts of right versus wrong, and that wrong behavior has consequences.

We were also raised knowing the concept of personal responsibility for our actions.

And, if we had a problem understanding those concepts, an adult, whether it be a parent, a friend’s parent, a teacher, a principal, a church leader, as policeman, or a judge, would explain those concepts to us in no uncertain terms.

And, you could bet your last Hot Wheels that, if you got in trouble in school or after school while hanging out in the neighborhood, that we would pay for our transgressions when we got home.

Nowadays, we are experiencing the results of LBJ’s “Great Society”and a couple of generation of “latchkey kids”, “raised by the village” in which the Almighty Federal Government and Soros-financed District Attorneys have eliminated both the concept of moral absolutes and individual responsibility.

These “yutes” and their older “role models” who are acting like wild animals have been raised as such, literally abandoned by irresponsible parents to fend for themselves and to make up their own rules as they go along.

What we are witnessing, boys and girls, with these teenage flash mobs and the Marxist Anarchists who are tearing apart our major cities, is a Generation of Sociopaths, with no concept of morality, ethics, or personal responsibility.

They are doing what feels good to them…and what popular culture, which has become both their “god” and their “parental authority figure” has told them is cool.

Until Municipal, Community, and Civic leaders across the country show these young and older savages that they will face SEVERE consequences for their barbaric behavior, these violent attacks will continue…until several of these “useful idiots” wind up on the wrong end of a gun being held by one of their victims who just happens to have a Concealed Carry Permit.

And, then the parents and the community will have no one to blame, but themselves.

Dem Congresswoman Who Supported “Defund The Police” Carjacked in Philadelphia

Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (D-Penn.) was carjacked at gunpoint in Philadelphia on Wednesday as crime continues to surge in major cities across the country.

“Wednesday afternoon, at around 2:45 p.m., Congresswoman Scanlon was carjacked at gunpoint in FDR Park following a meeting at that location,” Scanlon’s office said in a statement. The Congresswoman was physically unharmed. She thanks the Philadelphia Police Department for their swift response, and appreciates the efforts of both the Sergeant at Arms in D.C. and her local police department for coordinating with Philly PD to ensure her continued safety.”

Scanlon’s phone and purse were stolen by the attacker, according to WPVI-TV.

Police say Scanlon was approached by two black males, aged approximately 20-30, as she walked to her vehicle before they demanded she hand them the keys. Scanlon handed over the keys to her blue 2017 Acura MDX and one of the suspects drove away in it while the other drove away in a dark-colored SUV.

Scanlon represents Pennsylvania’s 5th Congressional District, which includes part of South Philadelphia.

In 2021 so far, the Philadelphia Police Department has reported 521 homicides, which is a 13% increase compared to 2020 and the city’s highest number of killings since at least 2007. Incidents involving a shooting have also increased by 4.4%, and the number of people who are victims of a shooting has risen by almost 3% over the past year.

The City of Philadelphia is seeing at least an 80% increase in carjackings in 2021, compared to the total number in 2020, police told FOX 29 earlier this month.

Scanlon was not the first prominent Democratic official to be carjacked in a crime-ridden city in the last 24 hours. Last night, Illinois’ Democratic state Senate majority leader Sen. Kimberly Lightford and her husband were carjacked in Chicago, where crime has been surging.

“First and foremost, I am thankful that my husband and I are alive and physically unharmed,” Lightford said in a statement. “I am trying to process the trauma of what happened. I want to thank everyone who has offered their love and support. I want to especially thank Mayor Katrina Thompson and the Broadview Police Department for their quick and thorough response.”

Both Scanlon and Lightford have been staunch supporters of police reforms in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in the summer of 2020.

“We have seen too many lives taken and communities devastated by police brutality and racial profiling,” Scanlon tweeted shortly after Floyd’s death. “Action is long overdue. @HouseDemocrats are fighting for REAL reform in our country’s police departments. #JusticeInPolicing.”

Rep. Scanlon is one of 125 co-sponsors of the Mental Health Justice Act, which aimed to place some police officers as first responders with mental health specialists. All of the bill’s sponsors are Democrats. The bill’s text says its purpose is “To authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award grants to States and political subdivisions of States to hire, employ, train, and dispatch mental health professionals to respond in lieu of law enforcement officers in emergencies involving one or more persons with a mental illness or an intellectual or developmental disability, and for other purposes.”

At the time the Mental Health Justice Act was introduced in February 2021, with Scanlon on board as one of its original co-sponsors, The Hill reported, “Congress wants to make it easier for state and local governments to defund the police by instead funding mental health services and empowering them to respond to emergency calls instead of armed officers.”

Actions have consequences.

All of the cities and states which have experienced perceived “trouble” with police departments happen to be Blue States with Democrats in charge of State and Municipal Governments.

Instead of relying on traditional police departments and the American System of Law and Order, Democrats like those in the Minneapolis City Council wanted to have the power to circumvent the American System of Justice because of their issues in the past with it.

The death of ex-convict George Floyd gave them the excuse to attempt to defund police departments.

And now, with a Democrat in office, those who oppose Law and Order are all taking the side of the criminals.

Even the Democrat sitting behind the Oval Office…when he is not taking a nap.

Just like a criminal does not represent an entire race, neither do bad policemen represent an entire nation’s Law Enforcement Officers.

They are heroes.

And, I’ll bet that those Democrat Politicians who became victims of crime wish that a policeman or policewoman had been around when they needed one.

Talk about a Reality Check….

So, please allow me to end today’s post with the text of a classic narration by the late, great Paul Harvey  titled “What is a Policeman?”

“A policeman is a composite of what all men are, I guess, a mingling of saint and sinner, dust and deity. What that really means is that they are exceptional, they are unusual. They are not commonplace. The policeman from a single human hair must be able to describe the crime, the weapon the criminal, and tell you where the criminal is hiding but, if he catches the criminal he’s lucky, if he doesn’t he’s a dunce.

“He runs files and writes reports until his eyes ache to build a case against some felon who will get dealt out by some shameless shamus. The policeman must be a minister, a social worker, a diplomat, a tough guy, and a gentle man. And of course, he’ll have to be a genius, because he’ll have to feed a family on a policeman’s salary.”

Tina Tchen, the attorney and former chief of staff to first lady Michelle Obama, has garnered scrutiny after messages traded with Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx — about the alleged hoax linked to actor Jussie Smollett — emerged shortly before prosecutors dropped all charges against Smollett on Tuesday.

Tchen started practicing law in 1983, after she graduated from Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law, and currently leads the Chicago branch of Buckley LLC. In between, she worked in the Obama White House, first as the director of the Office of Public Engagement and later as the first lady’s chief of staff.

Given her comprehensive legal background, her influence on the investigation into the allegations of fraud against Jussie Smollett has raised eyebrows in the Windy City.

Public records obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times showed that Tchen sent Foxx an early-morning text on Feb. 1 saying she “wanted to give you a call on behalf of Jussie Smollett and family who I know. They have concerns about the investigation.” Three days earlier, Smollett had said two men attacked him on the way home.

Later that day, the Sun-Times reported that a relative of Smollett sent Foxx a text, sparking a relationship that eventually led to Foxx recusing herself from the investigation and prosecution. Foxx also was shown to have emailed Tchen: “Spoke to [Chicago Police] Superintendent [Eddie] Johnson. I convinced him to reach out to FBI to ask that they take over the investigation. He is reaching out now and will get to me shortly.”

Prosecutors on Tuesday abruptly dropped all charges against Smollett after the “Empire” actor — accused of faking a racist, anti-gay attack on himself — agreed to do volunteer service and to let the city keep his $10,000 in bail, in a decision that sparked outrage among Johnson and Mayor Rahm Emanuel, among others. The prosecutors gave no detailed explanation for why they abandoned the case only five weeks after filing the charges and threatening to pursue Smollett for the cost of a monthlong investigation, adding that said they still believe Smollett concocted the assault.

Tchen’s motivations for reaching out to Foxx were unknown. Other links between the two were unclear. Tchen did not respond to multiple interview requests from Fox News and her office declined requests for comment.

Questions about any legal or ethical impropriety remained unresolved. The Illinois ethical code for attorneys’ states: “A lawyer shall not engage in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice.”

Jim Grogan, the deputy administrator and chief counsel at the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, said the law typically applies to attorneys who obfuscate and encumber the legal process by wasting the court’s time. He’s not aware of any precedent in Illinois regarding an attorney who has no clients in the case.

It’s unclear if Tchen was representing anyone in the Smollett family when she reached out to Foxx.

“The fun thing about that rule is that it’s so broadly written,” Grogan said. “You’ve got to say to yourself, what’s my role as a lawyer being involved in all this?”

She knew her role, Mr. Grogan.

It was to get Jussie Smollett off the hook.

This is not the first time that the Obamas have interjected themselves in a local police matter.

On July 16, 2009, Harvard University professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was arrested at his Cambridge, Massachusetts home by local police officer Sgt. James Crowley, who was responding to a 9-1-1 caller’s report of men breaking and entering the residence. The arrest initiated a series of events that gained an international spotlight because of the involvement of Barack Hussein Obama, the President of the United States of America.

“I don’t know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that,” Obama said after Gates’s arrest. “But I think it’s fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home, and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there’s a long history in this country of African Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately.”

…He scheduled an event at the White House dubbed the “beer summit” and invited Gates and the officer who arrested him to have a conversation with him and Vice President Biden.

…News of the arrest set off a national debate about racial profiling that consumed the first summer of Obama’s presidency.

Six days after the arrest, Obama held a conference to talk about health care and was asked about the Gates arrest. He gave his comments, which he later said he regretted.

The beer summit yielded fuzzy photographs of the four men drinking and eating peanuts. But the lasting impression was that the president had stepped into a divisive racial debate for which he was unprepared.

And, now, they just got a man guilty of attempting to cause more racial division in this country off the hook.

While Obama and his wife lived in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, they showed that they were both quite adept at fanning the fires of racial division, especially after the shooting of the thug Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and the subsequent incidences in Baltimore and New York.

Unfortunate incidences all turned into rhetorical bonfires by President Obama and the Democratic Party, eager to use these moments of racial division to split the country at the seems in order to gain political power.

However, in the case of Jussie Smollett, the Obamas are no longer the First Couple of our nation, so they have to practice covert Machiavellian manipulations from their “command center” a couple of blocks away from the White House.

Just as they did during Obamas run for the Illinois Senate Seat and during the 8 long years of the Obama Administration, the Obamas used “Chicago Politics” to skirt the rules in order to provide a desired outcome…

…”by whatever means necessary.”

“Persons of Interest” Sought in Smollett Assault…But, Did It Actually Happen?

Photos of “people of interest” connected to the alleged attack on “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett were released by the Chicago Police Department Wednesday night.

Smollett, 36, told investigators he was brutally attacked early Tuesday by two unknown men who yelled out “racial and homophobic slurs.”

The police department said earlier Wednesday that they reviewed hundreds of hours of footage from downtown surveillance cameras, but had yet to find footage of the alleged attack.

But hours later Chicago Police’s Chief Communications Officer Anthony Guglielmi released two photos of those possibly connected to the alleged beating on Twitter.

“While video does not capture an encounter, detectives are taking this development seriously & wish to question individuals as more cameras are being reviewed,” Guglielmi wrote.

The pictures appear to show two people, dressed in dark clothing, walking along a sidewalk next to a building.

Investigators told Fox News that while walking near the Chicago River around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Smollett said two men approached him and yelled, “This is MAGA country.” The actor told police the men struck him in the face with their hands and poured an unknown chemical on him before wrapping a rope around his neck.

Smollett, according to authorities, took himself to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.

“Given the severity of the allegations, we are taking this investigation very seriously and treating it as a possible hate crime,” the Chicago police said in a statement after the alleged attack. “Detectives are currently working to gather video, identify potential witnesses and establish an investigative timeline.”

Smollett plays openly gay musician Jamal Lyon on the Fox series. The actor told Ellen DeGeneres in 2015 that he identifies as gay but does not discuss his personal life in public.

In a statement to Fox News, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment said: “We are deeply saddened and outraged to learn that a member of our EMPIRE family, Jussie Smollett, was viciously attacked last night. We send our love to Jussie, who is resilient and strong, and we will work with law enforcement to bring these perpetrators to justice. The entire studio, network and production stands united in the face of any despicable act of violence and hate — and especially against one of our own.”

“Empire” is shot in Chicago and is currently in production. A spokesperson for Fox Broadcasting Company confirmed to Fox News Wednesday night that “security has been increased on the production and Mr. Smollett.”

I wish no harm to Mr. Smollett and if he was actually attacked by a couple of white rednecks wearing MAGA hats at 2 in the morning in Downtown Chicago, where they would have stuck out like fireflies in a pasture at midnight, then the perpetrators deserve any punishment that they will receive when caught and adjudicated.

However…his story seems awfully implausible to me.

Remember Tawana Brawley?

On November 28, 1987, a 15-year-old black girl named Tawana Brawley was found lying inside a trash bag outside an apartment building located in Wappangers Falls, New York. She was covered in feces and racial insults had been scrawled on her body. When questioned by police she claimed that a group of white men, including police officers, had raped and beaten her. The black community rallied around her, and a prominent black leader, the Reverend Al Sharpton, appointed himself her spokesman. Support for Brawley reached its peak on June 15, 1988 when her advisers held a meeting at the Bethany Baptist Church in Brooklyn that was broadcast to an audience of ten million viewers.

However, the material evidence did not back up Brawley’s claims. Her body displayed no signs of rape or assault. She was not frostbitten, even though she had supposedly been kept naked in the freezing woods for days. The feces on her body turned out to be from a neighbor’s dog, and even more damningly, a local resident of the apartment community where she was found claimed to have seen her climb into the trashbag alone and lie down of her own accord.

In October 1988 a grand jury issued a report following a seven-month investigation. It concluded that Brawley’s claims were a hoax. Many speculated that Brawley had made up a wild story in order to avoid punishment at the hand of her stepfather for having run away from home for three days. But Brawley herself insisted that she was telling the truth, a stance which she has maintained to this day. More than anything else, the episode and its bitter aftermath displayed the deep racial divisions that still haunted American society.

The question is…is Mr. Smollett so filled with rage over the fact that Donald J. Trump in the President of the United States of America that he would make up being assaulted in order to further the Democratic Party and Main Stream Media narrative concerning President Trump and us “Deplorables”?

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, please allow me to present as Exhibit A…a tweet directed to the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.

I am not accusing Mr. Smollett of anything, as the jury is still out.

However, given Chicago’s reputation as being steeped in gang activity with numerous homicides occurring on an almost daily basis with 18 people murdered so far this year, no one with any sense would have been out that time of night.

Nothing has been proven so far as to whether Mr. Smollett was actually assaulted or not.

If you were, sir, I am sorry.

Rahm Emmanuel Blames a Lack of Moral Character for Chicago Violence and Catches a Lot of Grief…Why He’s Right

Are you familiar with the old saying about the fact that even a broken clock gets the time right once a day?

Well…

The Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emmanuel, got very close to being right…for once.

As Chicago braces for another bloody weekend, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is once again coming under fire for blaming a lack of morals in predominantly black and Hispanic neighborhoods for the recent spate of violent crime.

Emanuel, who has been mayor since 2011 and is facing growing calls to resign from members of his own party, urged locals to “be a neighbor” and “speak up” to help law enforcement pursue killers, gang members and drug dealers.

After one particularly violent weekend earlier this month when more than 70 people were shot, Emanuel deflected questions about police staffing and strategy. Instead, he ignited a firestorm when he said there needs to be a politically incorrect conversation about character and values.

“This may not be politically correct,” he said, “but I know the power of what faith and family can do. … Our kids need that structure. … I am asking … that we also don’t shy away from a full discussion about the importance of family and faith helping to develop and nurture character, self-respect, a value system and a moral compass that allows kids to know good from bad and right from wrong.”

He added: “If we’re going to solve this … we’ve got to have a real discussion. … Parts of the conversation cannot be off-limits because it’s not politically comfortable. … We are going to discuss issues that have been taboo in years past because they are part of the solution. … We also have a responsibility to help nurture character. It plays a role. Our kids need that moral structure in their lives. And we cannot be scared to have this conversation.”

Critics quickly called him out for what they dubbed tone-deaf comments, in which he seemed to be blaming the victims.

Shari Runner, former president and CEO of the Chicago Urban League, deemed the remarks insensitive. “I cannot see the victims of racist policies and bigoted practices shamed by anyone who says they need to do better or be better in their circumstance. I won’t accept it,” Runner said

Kwame Raoul, a Democratic state senator who is running for Illinois attorney general, took a similar view. “I think for the mayor to make a generalization about a community is more than just misspoken,” Raoul said, “it’s outright wrong,”

Here’s a question: In which communities are all of these murders and other violent crimes happening?

In my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, these same conditions exist to the extent that violent crime, including drive-bys, are now happening in the suburbs.

This is not a subject that “polite society’, i.e., “The Smartest People in the Room” likes to talk about, but it is time for a reality check.

Back in July of 2013, CNN Reporter Don Lemon (who happens to be black) caught a bunch of grief for saying,

Just because you can have a baby, it doesn’t mean you should. Especially without planning for one or getting married first. More than 72 percent of children in the African-American community are born out of wedlock. That means absent fathers. And the studies show that lack of a male role model is an express train right to prison and the cycle continues.

Politifact.com researched the statement and found out that Lemon was correct. As of the 2010 Census, Black American Babies were experiencing a 73% illegitimacy rate.

If community leaders, such as those in the featured article, the NFL and its players, Modern American Liberals, both black and white, Democrat and Republican, in Municipal, State, and National Leadership Positions, would focus their angst and “concern” over all of the violence and, as Mayor Emmanuel did, focus on the society-altering, continuing dissolution of the Black Family Unit and work toward the restoration of the Black Family Unit, instead of attempting to blame our city’s police officers for the violence in our streets, perhaps the stifling defeatism of the cycle of Generational Poverty and Crime, and the violence it brings, would eventually be a thing of the past, or greatly diminished, anyway.

Then, I wouldn’t be awakened every morning, by the Local News in Memphis, to stories about Black Americans killing each other, or driving down streets and highways in cars shooting at one another and hitting innocent people in their crossfire.

And American Families could actually watch an enjoyable Sunday Afternoon of professional football again, without the NFL Players’ public displays of their private political ideology spoiling it for everybody because then, their flimsy excuse would be gone.

But, then again…that would make too much sense.

And, if someone would have provided a male role model in the lives of those young men committing these crimes who have grown up without one, a lot of Americans, Black, white, Hispanic, etc. might still be alive.

Actions have consequences.

Harvard Law Professor and longtime Democrat Alan Dershowitz said he would not have campaigned for then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) if he knew about the future president’s photo op with Louis Farrakhan.

Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, is a “virulent anti-Semite and anti-American,” Dershowitz said on “Fox & Friends.”

“He has called Judaism a gutter religion. He is a horrible, horrible human being,” he said.

A photographer, Askia Muhammad, showed Fox News’ Tucker Carlson a 2005 picture of Obama and Farrakhan smiling together. 

He said that afterward, the Congressional Black Caucus contacted him and demanded to have the photo back.

“I gave the original disk to him and in a sense swore myself to secrecy because I had quietly made a copy for myself,” Muhammad said.

Muhammad said he thought the CBC was concerned a photo with Farrakhan could hurt the young senator’s future presidential aspirations.

Muhammad added that Obama had Nation of Islam followers working in his Chicago senate office.

Dershowitz said he threatened to leave the Democratic Party if Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) – who once had connections with Farrakhan – was elected chairman instead of Tom Perez.

“We should have nobody in public office associating with a bigot like Farrakhan,” he said.

Gosh, Why would Obama have been hanging out with Calypso Louie, back in 2005?

Well, according to the photographer, he took the picture at a Congressional Black Caucus Meeting and was sworn to secrecy.

However, there may have been more to it than just that.

In 2005 Farrakhan organized the Millions More Movement to mark the tenth anniversary of the Million Man March, and to demand that the U.S. government increase its spending on welfare programs designed to recompense blacks for the suffering that America has historically inflicted on them and their forebears. 

Impugning the U.S. government for supporting “the State of Israel on Palestinian lands,” Farrakhan has cultivated a friendly relationship with the leaders of Neturei Karta, a small Jewish organization that opposes Israel’s existence.

Farrakhan has been a mentor and role model to many black radicals, among the most notable being Malik Zulu Shabazz and the late Khalid Abdul Muhammad.

Addressing a crowd of some 20,000 people at the Nation of Islam’s annual Saviours’ Day celebration in February 2008, Farrakhan said that presidential candidate Barack Obama represented the “hope of the entire world” that the United States might become a better neighbor to other nations.

Also in February 2008, Farrakhan called Obama “a herald of the Messiah.” “Barack has captured the youth,” said the NOI leader, referring to the passionate support Obama had drawn from young people in America. “And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn’t care anything about. That’s a sign. When the messiah speaks, the youth will hear. And the messiah is absolutely speaking.”

Farrakhan is a longtime friend and ally of Michael Pfleger, pastor of Chicago’s Saint Sabina Catholic Church. As of April 2008, he had preached in Pfleger’s church on three separate occasions.

On September 21, 2010, Farrakhan dined with members of the New Black Panther Party(NBPP) and Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at New York City’s Warwick Hotel.

NBPP leader Malik Zulu Shabazz claims that on September 27, 2010 in New York City, he attended a secret meeting with Farrakhan, fifty Imams, and Ahmadinejad. When asked by an interviewer about this meeting, Shabazz did not reveal explicitly what was discussed, but implied that the participants had talked “about perhaps bringing natural gas and oil and other reparations [in compensation for past Arab slaving activities] into the black nation,” along with “other things—unmentionable.” Indicating that the tenor of the New York meeting was positive, he then said: “You know, there is no greater enemy than the white man. You know, uh, again we have to learn because it’s just as many Arabs who hate this white man as we do. So, am I not to ally myself, alliance myself with this Arab in fighting this white man?”

In March 2011, Farrakhan, reacting to President Barack Obama’s decision to assist rebels who had recently launched an uprising against Libyan President Moammar Qadhafi, said: “I love Moammar Qadhafi, and I love our president. It grieves me to see my brother president set a policy that would remove this man not only from power, but from the earth.” Portraying Qadhafi as a fellow revolutionary and longtime friend of NOI, Farrakhan reported that the Libyan leader had lent the Nation of Islam some $8 million over the years.

Way back on May 31, 2010, in a post titled “Basketball, Barbeque, and Lip Service”, I related the following story concerning then-President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) and Calypso Louie (as Rush Limbaugh likes to call him)…

“One day after playing with tar balls on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, Barack Obama started his Saturday by shooting some hoops with First Dawg Reggie Love in the gym located at the University of Chicago Lab School.

While he was hanging with Reggie, working on his jump shot, his pre-recorded lip service to our Armed Forces and the Memorial Day Holiday played on televisions and radios throughout the land.

At 4 p.m., he and his family left their Chicago home to attend a barbeque and watch the Blackhawks game at a buddy’s house.

An interesting stand-off happened while Scooter was partyin’ down, between followers of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan on one side and members of the press and the U.S. Secret Service guarding the president on the other.

Not far from Obama’s home in the Kenwood/Hyde Park neighborhood, Obama’s long-time friend Marty Nesbitt lives across the street from the ornate yellow-gold home where “Calypso Louie” Farrakhan lives.

When Obama has brought his family over to Nesbitt’s home the last two years, the press pool bus parks near Farrakhan’s house. This usually does not cause a problem, but Saturday night, there was almost a throwdown on Woodlawn Avenue.

As a dozen reporters and photographers following Obama stood on the sidewalk in front of Farrakhan’s home, someone’s foot touched the publicly owned curbside grass.

Like a flash, a polite man in jeans and T-Shirt came out of the compound to ask the press to stay off the grass.   He began pacing and talking on his cell phone.  He went inside the mansion’s black wrought iron fence, crossed the well-landscaped yard, lifted a water bucket behind rose bushes and retrieved a walkie-talkie. The reporters heard him referring to “the CIA.”  Evidently, this paranoid genius did not realize that the Secret Service guards the president, not the CIA.

He then went to the secret service agent watching the press and asked him to move the van and its occupants.

“How is this a security breach?” the agent asked. He asked if the house was government property.  Since Obama ascended to the throne, err, presidency, neighbors all over Hyde Park and Kenwood have become accustomed to dealing with streets being blocked off and having to show ID to approach their own homes .

The Fruit of Islam member said something else and at that point the agent stuck out his hand to shake hands and introduced himself as Secret Service. He added, “Sir, I can assure you that we will do nothing to interfere with whatever is going on in there.”

The Farrakhan guard paced again and talked on his cell phone, walkie-talkie in the other hand.  Three more men in T-Shirts reading “Wide or Die!’’ joined the man from the Nation of Islam.  A reporter asked one of the men if this was Farrakhan’s house. The man just glared back.  Asked again, he said, “I don’t have no comment.”

Eventually, a dozen Fruit of Islam members made the scene.   As each casually dressed man arrived, he exchanged elaborate handshake/hug/double air-kisses with others. Two of them walked by a reporter, chanting “Islam.”

The men filmed and photographed the reporters, the van and its license plates with their cell phones.

One of the guards came and stood close to reporters and the secret service agent.  The secret service agent asked if he could help him.  The man did not answer the agent. He politely asked  him again.  The guard said, “No.”  The agent said, “Secret Service, please move away from this group of people.”

The Fruit of Islam member complied.

The Secret Service agent asked the reporters to go back into the press bus, and they did.

Before they did, some of them asked the Nation of Islam crowd if they could use the rest room in Farrakahn’s home.

They were met with silence.”

Oh, by the way, “Minister” Louis Farrakhan was a guest speaker numerous times at the Rev. Wright’s Church, Trinity Church of Christ, while the Obamas attended there.

After Obama got into office, all Americans heard from him was the Rhetoric of Racial Division and Class Warfare.

In fact, at one point Fox News Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume said,

“The president has consistently chosen to see things through the eyes of an aggrieved black activist rather than of a president of all the people. He has not failed to speak out whenever a black is killed by a white police officer, but has said next to nothing about the continuing slaughter of blacks by other blacks in the streets of Chicago, Baltimore, and other cities.”

Obama’s Presidency was reminiscent of all the historical conflicts which I used to read about, during the course in college which I took, titled “The Rhetoric of Social Protest“.

Karl Marx knew long ago that all you needed to do to touch the heart of the common man was to convince him of a shared struggle.

Vladimir Lenin took this a step further, by using the concept of a shared struggle to convince the Bolsheviks to help him overthrow the Czar of Russia and murder him and his family during the Russian Revolution.

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but fiery rhetoric spoken by a national leader has consequences.

In the case of Barack Hussein Obama, it exacerbated race relations to the worst point that it had been in decades.

Obama is as responsible for what has happened to Race Relations in America, as any thug wannabe in any city.

Do you remember the Democratic Political Pundits telling Americans that Obama was a Presidential Candidate who “transcended race”?

They lied.

Cook County Commissioner to Invite U.N. Peacekeeping Forces to Control Violent Crime in Chicago. So Much for Sovereignty.

“The City of Broad Shoulders”, whose shifty Far Left Democratic Mayor has imperiously proclaimed that President Donald J. Trump is not welcome in his city, has come up with a wackadoodle of a plan to curtail a very serious problem, which they have exported to cities and towns throughout the United States of America.

CBS News’ Chicago Affiliate reports that

CHICAGO (CBS) — Some politicians in the past have recommended deploying the National Guard to help Chicago quell gun violence, but Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin went even further on Thursday, suggesting the United Nations perhaps send in peacekeepers in the face of what he called a “quiet genocide.”

Boykin was traveling to New York to meet with Oscar Fernandez-Taranco of Argentina, the U.N. Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Support, to seek international help with “horrific levels of shootings” and other violent crime in West Side and South Side communities.

“I’m hoping to appeal to the U.N. to actually come to Chicago and meet with victims of violence, and maybe even possibly help out in terms of peacekeeping efforts, because I think it’s so critical for us to make sure that these neighborhoods are safe,” Boykin said at O’Hare International Airport on Thursday.

Boykin said leaders in Chicago and Cook County have failed to protect many communities from violent crime.

“There is a quiet genocide taking place in too many of our communities. Eighty percent of those who are being killed by gun violence are African American, and often killed at the hands of another African American,” he said. “So we must protect these population groups, and that’s what the United Nations does. They’re a peacekeeping force. They know all about keeping the peace, and so we’re hopeful that they’ll hear our appeal.”

Boykin said Chicago must “utilize every avenue” available to protect its people from gun violence, possibly including U.N. peacekeepers.

“They’ve been able to help in places like Africa and abroad, where they’ve sent troops in and sent forces in to help protect minority and vulnerable populations, and so quite frankly I think the same can be said for here in Chicago,” Boykin said. “I’m talking about physical security. I’m also talking about maybe suggestions for what we can do in Chicago to help protect our minority populations. We’re being, again, decimated by the violence that we see here in Chicago. I mean this is really a genocide, and we have to do something to stop it.”

Recent figures from the Chicago Police Department showed homicides and shootings were down through the end of November, compared to the same time last year, but it’s not enough for Boykin.

“I know that the mayor may tout the fact that the number of people being shot is down, and the number of people being killed is down, but let me tell you, we’ve had over 600 people killed by gun violence already this year alone. That is a huge number,” Boykin said.

Through the end of November, Chicago has had at least 620 homicides. While down significantly from last year, when there were more than 720 homicides through November, that’s still a significant increase from most of the past 15 years.

“In my community of Austin, we’ve had 450 people shot, and 80 people killed this year alone, and so we have to do more to protect these communities, and that’s what we’re going to do. If we can’t get it done here with the leaders of the city, the state, and the county working together to utilize their budgets to help protect these communities, then I have to appeal to a higher authority, and a higher force,” Boykin said.

The meeting at the U.N. has been in the works for more than a month.

“Quite frankly, we can’t wait until the mayor comes up with another 1,000 police to try to make the streets safer. Quite frankly, the people want to be safe right now in their homes and their neighborhoods, and we want to make sure that they’re safe,” Boykin said.

Boykin will return from his meeting in New York on Thursday night.

There are several times, during my musings, that I have described our blessed country as a sovereign nation. What does that mean?

It means that we are an “independent state”, completely independent and self-governing. We bow to no other country on God’s green Earth. We are beholden to no other nation. America stands on its own, with our own set of laws , The Constitution of the United States.

By seeking to invite the UN to “keep the peace” in Chicago, Illinois, a city in the United States of America, like it was downtown Beirut, is not only unconstitutional, it is a proposed violation of our Sovereignty as a Nation.

The continuing and escalating violence in the Windy City reminds me of the exercise in futility that was the 8 year Presidency of Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm).

During those long 8 years, one of his pet projects was Gun Control.

Obama claimed that by making it harder for honest American Citizens to purchase firearms, it would curb the crime and violence in our major cities, like his hometown of Chicago, which already had in place some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.

Fat lot of good that’s done, huh?

Have you ever watched a mother, when their toddler bumps their head on a table, attempt to distract their child, by pretending to spank the table, while saying, “Bad Table”?

That, in a nutshell, is what Former President Barack Hussein Obama was attempting to do by writing Executive Orders, in an attempt to limit the Constitutional Right of American Citizens to own guns.

He also attempted to join in an Arms Treaty with the same United Nations that Commissioner Boykin of Chicago is attempting to hand responsibility of his city over to.

Is there something in the water in Chicago?

By creating new restrictions, instead of enforcing gun laws which were already in place, Obama shifted the blame from the Radical Islamic Terrorists and those who operate outside of the law, like the gangs in Chicago, to America and her citizens.

Obama tried to control law-abiding American Citizens, instead of punishing those who operate outside of our laws, such as the Muslim Terrorists who perpetrated the San Bernadino Massacre and the thugs who turned Obama’s “hometown” of Chicago into their own personal “Killing Fields”.

Gun Control has not stopped the criminals from getting Guns in the UK.

Why did Obama and his minions think that more regulations were going to accomplish what the UK has not?

Were they that full of themselves that they thought that, since they were the “smartest people in the room”, that failed methods would actually work simply because they were the ones attempting them?

Were they just doing something to be doing something, in order to save face with their Far Left supporters?

Or, was it something more malevolent than just everyday politics?

Led by the hate-mongering leadership of the National Rifle Association, they use a totally fraudulent and only very recent interpretation of the Second Amendment which they falsely claim as necessary for protecting every other freedom contained in the Bill of Rights.

One of their unhinged spokesmen, Texas talk show host Alex Jones, launched a national petition drive to deport CNN commentator Piers Morgan for questioning the Second Amendment. Jones said the amendment “isn’t there for duck hunting. It’s there to protect us from tyrannical government and street thugs,” and then went on to threaten insurrection “if you try to take our firearms.”

Actually, the Second Amendment wasn’t enacted with any of these things in mind. The amendment was adopted as a means to enable the new American republic, lacking a standing army or state national guards, to muster militia to put down domestic uprisings, including slave revolts, to repulse any attempted return by the British and to deal with clashes with Native Americans on the expanding frontier.

These issues vanished long ago. The Second Amendment is obsolete and now has been twisted to threaten the basic safety and security of all Americans. There is no basis for claiming this amendment was intended to permit unregulated personal acquisition of firearms, including amassing military weapons and private arsenals for “protection” from the government. No government, especially one that is new and fragile, has ever authorized citizens to arm themselves against it.

As I chronicled over the last seven and one-half years, Obama’s and the rest of the Far Left’s Gun Confiscation Movement came right out of  the playbook of Marx and Lenin.

There is one thing that Obama did not take into account, however…

Chicago gangs are committing more murder and mayhem on the blood-drenched streets of Chicago than ever before…and now, they have the fire power to eliminate Chicago’s “Thin Blue Line”, which is all that stands between law-abiding citizens and absolute anarchy.

If Obama and his minions had addressed the REAL problem of gang violence in Chicago, instead of trying to blame average American Gun Owners for the violent acts of criminals, Chicago and other major cities would be safer places to live in and visit today.

And, we wouldn’t have Far Left Liberal Commissioner Boykin attempting to invite the United Nations Peacekeeping Force to invade downtown Chicago, Illinois.

But, that would have made too much sense.

After Sutherland Springs Massacre, Dems Call for “Gun Control”…Again

Whenever there is a mass homicide in America, Democratic Politicians, in some sort of obscene genetic pavlovian response, begin calling for honest Americans guns to be taken away.

For example…

The Washington Post reports that

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) has been a leading voice for gun control after just about every recent mass shooting, ever since it was his state that was struck in 2012 by the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown.

But Murphy’s response to the latest tragedy — in Sutherland Springs, Tex. — is a little different even for him. It is a dark and ominous statement that at times feels somewhat resigned but also makes a point of arguing that we shouldn’t be resigned. In that way, it’s somewhat similar to how President Barack Obama spoke about mass shootings late in his term. Murphy, though, takes it even further, painting a vivid and stark picture of the “paralysis” we have faced after mass shootings and talking about “the blood that flows endlessly onto the floors” of the scenes of such attacks. And for all of it, he blames lawmakers who have sold out to the NRA.

Below is his full, four-paragraph statement, with some analysis interspersed:

“The paralysis you feel right now — the impotent helplessness that washes over you as news of another mass slaughter scrolls across the television screen — isn’t real. It’s a fiction created and methodically cultivated by the gun lobby, designed to assure that no laws are passed to make America safer, because those laws would cut into their profits. My heart sunk to the pit of my stomach, once again, when I heard of today’s shooting in Texas. My heart dropped further when I thought about the growing macabre club of families in Las Vegas and Orlando and Charleston and Newtown, who have to relive their own day of horror every time another mass killing occurs.

None of this is inevitable. I know this because no other country endures this pace of mass carnage like America. It is uniquely and tragically American. As long as our nation chooses to flood the county with dangerous weapons and consciously let those weapons fall into the hands of dangerous people, these killings will not abate.”

“These killings will not abate” and the “paralysis” lines both hark back to how Obama talked. After multiple failed efforts to persuade Congress to act on gun control, he and his White House admitted that the will simply wasn’t there.

After a 2015 shooting in Oregon, White House press secretary Joshua Earnest said the president was “quite realistic that we’ll need to see a fundamental change in terms of the way the American people communicate this priority to Congress before we’ll see a different outcome in the legislative process.”

Months earlier, after the mass shooting at a historically black church in South Carolina, Obama said: “At some point it’s going to be important for the American people to come to grips with it, and for us to be able to shift how we think about the issue of gun violence collectively.”

“As my colleagues go to sleep tonight, they need to think about whether the political support of the gun industry is worth the blood that flows endlessly onto the floors of American churches, elementary schools, movie theaters, and city streets. Ask yourself: How can you claim that you respect human life while choosing fealty to weapons-makers over support for measures favored by the vast majority of your constituents.”

Here, Murphy pins the “blood that flows endlessly onto the floors” directly on lawmakers who have opposed gun control. He suggests that those who claim to be “pro-life” aren’t following through on it on this particular issue.

“My heart breaks for Sutherland Springs. Just like it still does for Las Vegas. And Orlando. And Charleston. And Aurora. And Blacksburg. And Newtown. Just like it does every night for Chicago. And New Orleans. And Baltimore. And Bridgeport. The terrifying fact is that no one is safe so long as Congress chooses to do absolutely nothing in the face of this epidemic. The time is now for Congress to shed its cowardly cover and do something.”

The inclusion of Chicago here is noteworthy. Republicans have long held up the carnage in the Windy City as proof of Democrats’ selective outrage on gun violence, given the strict gun-control laws that exist there. Here, Murphy suggests it’s part of the epidemic of mass shootings — even as the shootings don’t claim as many victims all at once.

Murphy also calls for his colleagues to shed their “cowardly cover and do something.” It’s worth noting that it has been weeks since Las Vegas, after which there seemed to be bipartisan agreement — including from the NRA — about regulating bump stocks, which basically serve to turn a semiautomatic weapon into a fully automatic one. And the bill was only recently introduced.

Texas would seem less conducive to immediate gun-control legislation. The shooter, according to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), had been denied a gun permit, for example, which suggests that this wasn’t a matter of a lack of background checks. The shooter was also stopped by an armed civilian — a fact gun-rights supporters will emphasize. The NRA often argues that the best way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

In other words, it seems unlikely that Murphy’s plea and this particular incident will change much of anything. But Murphy also seems to know that.

Uh huh. That’s because he’s a Liberal Democrat and he just can’t help himself.

Speaking of Chicago…

The Chicago Tribune reports that

Chicago is close to recording its 600th homicide for the year, only the second time the city will have reached the grim milestone since 2003, according to data kept by the Tribune. After a weekend when 30 were people shot, five of them fatally, the number of homicides stands at 593 this year, according to the Tribune’s database. 

That’s below the 681 homicides this time last year but substantially above other recent years.

Last year saw gun violence at levels not recorded since the late 1990s.  This year has not been as bad, but the last time the city hit 600 homicides was 2003, and that was for the entire year, according to statistics kept by the Chicago Police Department.

The Chicago Police Department’s count of homicides this year is 581 because, unlike the Tribune, it does not count homicides on expressways as well as fatal shootings by police officers and homicides considered justified.

Shootings have shown the same trend:  This year trails last year but not other recent years.  Nearly 3,200 people have been shot so far in 2017, down from the roughly 3,800 shot this time last year.   That’s compared to 2,609 at this time in 2015, 2,208 in 2014, 1,923 in 2013 and 2.162 in 2012, according to Tribune data.

Among those shot over this past weekend was a 14-year-old boy, who was grazed in the right foot and leg on Saturday afternoon. He and a 22-year-old man were fired at from a black sedan in the 2200 block of South Oakley Avenue in the West Side’s Heart of Italy neighborhood.

In another double shooting late Saturday night, a 37-year-old woman was killed while attending a party to celebrate what would have been the birthday of a man killed in August as he left the Cook County criminal courthouse.  A 25-year-old man was also shot and injured.

Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the country.

And yet, people are still shooting and killing one another.

Which proves the old saying,

If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns.

If the Democrats had their way, we would live in a country under the oppression of restrictive gun laws, which would be modeled after those in Europe. And, as past events have plainly shown, those restrictive gun laws have allowed Islamic Terrorists and other murderous nut jobs to kill innocent people unchallenged, because none of those innocent people were allowed to carry a weapon with which to defend themselves.

In fact, in some cases, even the police officers, who first arrived on the scene, were unarmed, and had to call for additional forces, thus giving the perpetrators more time to murder and maim the innocent.

One of our Founding Fathers, Dr. Benjamin Franklin, once wrote,

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

Like Dr. Franklin and the rest of those who have fought for our freedom, average Americans realize what Democrats do not.

The problem in cities like Chicago and Memphis is not that there are not enough gun laws. The problem is the gun laws on the books are not properly enforced.

The dissolution of the Black Family Unit, the revolving door state of our Municipal Justice Systems, and, in the case of the Sutherland Springs Massacre, the lack of recognition and treatment of the mentally ill, have a lot to do with the rise of homicides in those Metropolitan areas, as well.

What Liberals have never understood, in their continuous quest to take away the Second Amendment rights of average Americans is that we will never surrender our Constitutional Right to defend ourselves and our families from enemies foreign and domestic.

What part of the words quote “shall not be infringed” do you Liberals not understand?

Passing more restrictive gun laws is not the answer.

Criminals are called “outlaws” for a reason.

They will find a way to get guns. They do now.

This is a people problem. Not a gun problem.

After all, have you ever seen a gun pull its own trigger?

Hire More Police or Remain a Sanctuary City? Chicago’s Rahm Emmanuel is Stuck Between a Thug and a Safe Space

In a statement through the Department of Justice (DOJ), Sessions said sanctuary cities would not be allowed to participate in the Public Safety Partnership program until they prove that they have properly dropped their status and made efforts to reduce violent crimes by illegal aliens.

“By protecting criminals from immigration enforcement, cities and states with so-called ‘sanctuary’ policies make all of us less safe,” Sessions said in the statement. “We saw that just last week, when an illegal alien who had been deported twenty times and was wanted by immigration authorities allegedly sexually assaulted an elderly woman in Portland, a city that refuses to cooperate with immigration enforcement.”

“By forcing police to go into more dangerous situations to re-arrest the same criminals, these policies endanger law enforcement officers more than anyone,” Sessions continued. “The Department of Justice is committed to supporting our law enforcement at every level, and that’s why we’re asking ‘sanctuary’ jurisdictions to stop making their jobs harder.”

“By taking simple, common-sense considerations into account, we are encouraging every jurisdiction in this country to cooperate with federal law enforcement,” Sessions said. “That’s what 80 percent of the American people want them to do, and that will ultimately make all of us safer—especially law enforcement on our streets.”

Then, yesterday, WLSAM.com reported that

Mayor Emanuel says he’s going to sue the Trump Justice Dept on Monday over its new Sanctuary City rules.New rules just out prevent Sanctuary Cities like Chicago to get certain law enforcement grants and so the mayor says Chicago will file suit to kill the rules and get the millions in question.

In an interview with WLS-AM for Sunday’s edition of “Bill Cameron and Connected to Chicago”, the mayor said “We are not going to be put in a position of choosing who we are as a welcoming city and strengthening our police dept. These are exactly the kind of training and technology you want to be investing in right now and also do it in a way that the community’s involved.”

The Mayor also tells Cameron that he’s no longer Bruce Rauner’s friend, even as Rauner said this week he still considers the two of them to be friends.

So, basically, “Tiny Dancer” wants to have his burrito and eat it, too.

Emmanuel, in the great tradition of Chicago Politics, wants to defy Federal Law and provide safe harbor for those who are in our country illegally, in defiance of our laws.

However, at the same time, he is accutely aware that the gangs have taken over the city and the bodies of those Chicagoans who are murdered nightly through gang and other violence are stacking up like cordwood.

What’s a Liberal Democrat Mayor to do?

If he allows ICE to sweep through Chicago, round up the illegal aliens and transport them home, Emmanuel loses the biggest Democrat voting bloc since Sam “Momo” Giancana arranged for Dead Chicagoans to vote for JFK.

Chicago Homicide Watch reported yesterday that

At least 14 people were killed last week as Chicago passed the 400-homicide mark for the year nearly a week ahead of last year’s pace, when the homicides numbers were the highest in two decades. The victims included a mother shot while walking with her young son, and a man stabbed to death in a luxury apartment, a crime which has sparked a nationwide manhunt.

Mayor Emmanuel wants to enforce the law and break it at the same time.

Liberal Democrats are always the first to manufacture some sort of “oppressed” people.

However, they are also the first to holler “POLICE”! when their own lives are threatened.

Unless ol’ Rahm can get violent crime in Chicago under control, there will be no tax dollars left to bribe the illegal aliens with to go to the polls and vote for Democrats in the next election.

And, if he were to get the funding for more police officers, what’s “Tiny Dancer” going to tell the new recruits?

Arrest the Gang Bangers but leave the Illegals?

Chicago Gangs Now Have “Cop Killer” Bullets. Chicago’s Strict Gun Control Laws Prove Ineffective…Again.

The Wall Street Journal reported the following

CHICAGO—This city’s police officers have been warned of the increasing use by gang members of rifles able to pierce police body armor, after a spate of shootings with assault-style weapons.

On Sunday, two men armed with assault-style rifles shot 10 people, police said. The victims, two of whom died, were attending a memorial for a person shot and killed that day in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the southwest side.

“Two subjects came out of an alley, and opened fire with rifles,” Chicago Police Deputy Superintendent Kevin Navarro said at a press conference on Sunday. The victims were standing at the spot where the person was killed, marked by candles and balloons.

Mr. Navarro called it “another brazen act of gang violence” on Chicago’s streets.

On Monday, officers were issued a safety bulletin warning them to expect a higher presence of gang members with assault-style rifles in that neighborhood. Additional tactical and gang-response units have been deployed to the area to quell possible violence.

Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the safety alerts are “routine communications to advise field personnel about incidents.”

“This bulletin was issued out of an abundance of caution,” he said. “There is no specific threat against Chicago police officers.”

Sunday’s bloodshed comes days after a van pulled alongside plainclothes police officers in an unmarked surveillance vehicle and opened fire with similar military-style rifles, injuring both officers. One was shot in the hip and arm, and the other was shot in the back.

Police believe the officers weren’t targeted because of their profession, and say it is likely the shooters thought they were shooting at rival gang members. The officers have since been discharged from the hospital and are in stable condition.

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson, who described the rifle used as a “weapon of war,” said police in that neighborhood have seen “quite a few” shootings with high-powered rifles. Police dogs recovered a .223 caliber rifle buried in the woods near the site of the shooting.

One suspect, 18-year-old Angel Gomez, has been arrested after the shooting of the officers, suspected of being the driver of the vehicle that shot at the police van. He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder against a police officer and two counts of battery with a firearm, and is being held without bail.

The proliferation of these weapons, which police say are being used by specific Hispanic gangs in those neighborhoods, are complicating Chicago’s efforts to fight violent crime in the city. Police have implemented strategies to bring down last year’s homicide total of 762 people, a number not seen since the mid-1990s. The moves include new predictive policing technologies that incorporate gunshot-detection software, and attempts at strengthening community ties.

Still, the capabilities of weapons on the streets have continued to increase.

“Years ago, you didn’t see people running around with assault weapons or 50-round clips,” said Kevin Johnson, commander of Chicago’s 11th police district, which includes the high-crime Englewood neighborhood. “Crime never stays static.”

Police Superintendent Johnson has for months been pushing legislation that would seek to impose longer sentences on repeat gun offenders, arguing that weak prosecution and low bail amounts are sending violent offenders back out into their neighborhoods too soon.

“Their thought process is not one that would say to them: Don’t pick up a gun and fire. That’s what we want to create,” said Mr. Johnson. “The only way we can do that is hold them accountable for it.”

The bill, which passed the Illinois state Senate, is being debated in the House.

The continuing and escalating violence in the Windy City reminds me of the exercise in futility that was the 8 year Presidency of Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm).

During those long 8 years, one of his pet projects was Gun Control.

Obama claimed that by making it harder for honest American Citizens to purchase firearms, it would curb the crime and violence in our major cities, like his hometown of Chicago, which already had in place some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.

Fat lot of good that’s done, huh?

Have you ever watched a mother, when their toddler bumps their head on a table, attempt to distract their child, by pretending to spank the table, while saying, “Bad Table”?

That, in a nutshell, is what Former President Barack Hussein Obama was attempting to do by writing Executive Orders, in an attempt to limit the Constitutional Right of American Citizens to own guns.

By creating new restrictions, instead of enforcing gun laws which were already in place, Obama shifted the blame from the Radical Islamic Terrorists and those who operate outside of the law, like the gangs in Chicago, to America and her citizens.

Obama tried to control law-abiding American Citizens, instead of punishing those who operate outside of our laws, such as the Muslim Terrorists who perpetrated the San Bernadino Massacre and the thugs who turned Obama’s “hometown” of Chicago into their own personal “Killing Fields”.

Gun Control has not stopped the criminals from getting Guns in the UK.

Why did Obama and his minions think that more regulations were going to accomplish what the UK has not?

Were they that full of themselves that they thought that, since they were the “smartest people in the room”, that failed methods would actually work simply because they were the ones attempting them?

Were they just doing something to be doing something, in order to save face with their Far Left supporters?

Or, was it something more malevolent than just everyday politics?

Led by the hate-mongering leadership of the National Rifle Association, they use a totally fraudulent and only very recent interpretation of the Second Amendment which they falsely claim as necessary for protecting every other freedom contained in the Bill of Rights.

One of their unhinged spokesmen, Texas talk show host Alex Jones, launched a national petition drive to deport CNN commentator Piers Morgan for questioning the Second Amendment. Jones said the amendment “isn’t there for duck hunting. It’s there to protect us from tyrannical government and street thugs,” and then went on to threaten insurrection “if you try to take our firearms.”

Actually, the Second Amendment wasn’t enacted with any of these things in mind. The amendment was adopted as a means to enable the new American republic, lacking a standing army or state national guards, to muster militia to put down domestic uprisings, including slave revolts, to repulse any attempted return by the British and to deal with clashes with Native Americans on the expanding frontier.

These issues vanished long ago. The Second Amendment is obsolete and now has been twisted to threaten the basic safety and security of all Americans. There is no basis for claiming this amendment was intended to permit unregulated personal acquisition of firearms, including amassing military weapons and private arsenals for “protection” from the government. No government, especially one that is new and fragile, has ever authorized citizens to arm themselves against it.

As I chronicled over the last seven years, Obama’s and the rest of the Far Left’s Gun Confiscation Movement came right out of  the playbook of Marx and Lenin.

Chicago gangs are committing more murder and mayhem on the blood-drenched streets of Chicago than ever before…and now, they have the fire power to eliminate Chicago’s “Thin Blue Line”, which is all that stands between law-abiding citizens and absolute anarchy.

If Obama and his minions had addressed the REAL problem of gang violence in Chicago, instead of trying to blame average American Gun Owners for the violent acts of criminals, Chicago and other major cities would be safer places to live in and visit today.

But, that would have made too much sense.
