Memorial Day 2023: Liberty is Freedom With Responsibility

Memorial Day isn’t just about honoring veterans, its honoring those who lost their lives. Veterans had the fortune of coming home. For us, that’s a reminder of when we come home we still have a responsibility to serve. It’s a continuation of service that honors our country and those who fell defending it. – Pete Hegseth
Today is a day of solemn remembrance, during which we honor our fallen heroes.
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation’s service. There are many stories as to its actual beginnings, with over two dozen cities and towns laying claim to being the birthplace of Memorial Day. There is also evidence that organized women’s groups in the South were decorating graves before the end of the Civil War: a hymn published in 1867, “Kneel Where Our Loves are Sleeping” by Nella L. Sweet carried the dedication “To The Ladies of the South who are Decorating the Graves of the Confederate Dead” (Source: Duke University’s Historic American Sheet Music, 1850-1920). While Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it’s difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day. It is more likely that it had many separate beginnings; each of those towns and every planned or spontaneous gathering of people to honor the war dead in the 1860’s tapped into the general human need to honor our dead, each contributed honorably to the growing movement that culminated in Gen Logan giving his official proclamation in 1868. It is not important who was the very first, what is important is that Memorial Day was established. Memorial Day is not about division. It is about reconciliation; it is about coming together to honor those who gave their all.
Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11, and was first observed on 30 May 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. The first state to officially recognize the holiday was New York in 1873. By 1890 it was recognized by all of the northern states. The South refused to acknowledge the day, honoring their dead on separate days until after World War I (when the holiday changed from honoring just those who died fighting in the Civil War to honoring Americans who died fighting in any war). It is now celebrated in almost every State on the last Monday in May (passed by Congress with the National Holiday Act of 1971 (P.L. 90 – 363) to ensure a three day weekend for Federal holidays), though several southern states have an additional separate day for honoring the Confederate war dead: January 19 in Texas, April 26 in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi; May 10 in South Carolina; and June 3 (Jefferson Davis’ birthday) in Louisiana and Tennessee.
As I sat down to write today’s post, I tried to think about something pithy to write. Then, I realized that today is not a day for witticisms and sarcasm.
I thought about all of the American lives, all of the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives out of love and devotion for our Sovereign Nation and their fellow Americans, both their comrades and their families back home.
The unselfish devotion shown by these brave Americans is made fun of and remains the source of derision by many devotees of the anti-American political philosophy who consider themselves to be the “smartest people in the room”.
These same “enlightened” individuals consider “patriotism” to be a bad word.
They have replaced it words like “nationalism” and “jingoism”.
The devotees of this political philosophy do not believe in American Exceptionalism.
They believe that America is “just another country”, certainly not worthy of sacrificing their lives for.
These people just don’t get it.
Freedom is not free.
That is why brave men and women of the past and the present age have fought and died while wearing the uniforms of our Armed Forces.
When they went into battle, they did not just represent their hometowns…they represented all of us.
From the germ of an idea to the greatest country on the face of God’s green Earth, this country has stood strong because of resolute men and women who were willing to “pledge their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor” to protect “The Shining City Upon a Hill”.
Today, standing up and being vocal in our opposition to those who would “radically change” EVERYTHING that these American Heroes and Heroines fought and died for is our “charge to keep”.
Because…

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. – John 15:13-17

May God bless and comfort the families of our Fallen Heroes and may their memories and our American Freedom endure.

“Woke” Pentagon’s “Diversity Chief” Not Disciplined for Racially-Divisive Remarks

The Pentagon said it will issue no disciplinary action to its former diversity, equity and inclusion chief, Kelisa Wing, over a series of divisive statements about White people, according to a Thursday letter to the office of Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., who sits on the House Armed Services Committee.

Wing was appointed as diversity, equity and inclusion chief at the Pentagon’s education wing — the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) — in 2021. She was involved in curriculum at DoDEA, which services over 60,000 military-connected children at 160 schools around the globe.

Wing has stated that her goal was to “tear down the system” in education. When asked about whether it was time for a “racial reckoning” and “revolution,” she responded in the affirmative.

Wing was put under probe by the Pentagon on Sept. 17 over tweets which referred to White people as “Karen[s].”

“I’m exhausted with these white folx in these [professional development] sessions,” she wrote.

“[T]his lady actually had the CAUdacity to say that black people can be racist too… I had to stop the session and give Karen the BUSINESS… [W]e are not the majority, we don’t have power,” Wing said in a tweet.

“Caudacity” is a slang term that is used to describe audacity demonstrated by White people.

On another occasion, Wing responded to a user who said, “I am exhausted by 99% of the white men in education and 95% of the white women. Where can I get a break from white nonsense for a while?”

Wing responded, “If another Karen tells me about her feelings… I might lose it…”

The Pentagon repeatedly dragged its feet at releasing the findings of the investigation. Gil Cisneros, the Under Secretary of Personnel and Readiness, was presented with the findings starting in October.” (Courtesy FoxNews.com)

The “Wokeness” which has infected every aspect of our American society has politicized our Armed Forces.

Imagine ignoring the fact that Americans of all races and religion are already serving their country and deciding that a “diversity chief” was needed.

This heifer should have never been allowed anywhere near the men and women serving our country.

Besides, isn’t a RASCIST “diversity chief” an oxymoron?

The decision to hire “Woke useful idiots” like her, along with the decision to allow transvestites to enter our Armed Forces, and along with all the political shenanigans including Proper Pronoun Training, is the reason that enrollment in our military is way down.

The New “Woke” Armed Forces” has been brought about by the same pointy-headed individuals who have introduced CRT racial divisiveness and LGBTQ Grooming into the curriculum of our nations’ public-school systems.

Traditional American Morality and Values are a roadblock to Progressives’ Plans, as regards to the “Good of the State” or their plans for a Socialist Paradise.

That same Traditional American Morality and Values have always been a key component of our Armed Forces.

Hence, the desire of Liberals like the Obama and Biden-Harris Administrations to turn them into a laboratory for Social Engineering experimentation.

They can try.

This Administration has succeeded in dividing Americans in a manner that has not been seen in decades.

However, unfortunately for those who espouse the “singularity of thought” of the Hive-mind, they will never win.

We are Americans. We cherish our Faith, our Families, our Freedom of Thought, and our Freedom to remain a Sovereign Nation

We will not be assimilated.

May God Bless our Brightest and Best.

VP Harris’ Memorial Day Tweet? “Enjoy the Long Weekend”…Talk About Intentionally Missing the Point!

Image

FoxNews.com reports that

Vice President Kamala Harris came under fire Saturday for tweeting about Memorial Day, but without mentioning the significance of the weekend.

“Enjoy the long weekend,” Harris wrote, above a candid photo of herself smiling.

Social media users condemned Harris’ lack of tact reminding the vice president of the sacrifices the “long weekend” is meant to honor.

“Don’t forget why we have a long weekend,” Tony Lederer wrote in a tweet paired with a picture of the Vietnam Memorial.

“It is Memorial Day weekend – [not] for enjoying – but for memorializing our fallen,” wrote another. “Our brothers and sisters, who ‘gave the last full measure of devotion. Please try to respect that.”

The tweet was shared with an image of a woman lying on a blanket in front of a tombstone at the Arlington National Cemetery with an infant.

“While we get the long weekend to ‘enjoy,’ let us all please take a solemn moment to remember those courageous men and women who sacrificed *everything,” Peter Francis wrote.

Memorial Day is celebrated the last Monday of May each year to honor the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military.

The tradition began as Decoration Day during the spring in the years following the end of the Civil War, eventually becoming a federal holiday in 1971.

A 2019 study by Bloomberg BNA found that 97 percent of employees designated Memorial Day a paid day off, but roughly 40 percent of companies require some employees to still work.

Other social media users reminded the vice president that not all Americans are allotted a long weekend with Mondays off, particularly as the service industry has reopened following the coronavirus pandemic.

Harris addressed the pandemic in a speech at a commencement ceremony for graduates at the U.S. Naval Academy Friday.

“It has forever impacted our world,” she said. “It has forever influenced our perspective, and if we weren’t clear before, we know now: Our world is interconnected. Our world is interdependent, and our world is fragile.”

“This, midshipmen, is the era we are in, and it is unlike any era that came before,” Harris added.

But Harris turned heads when she made a joke about Naval electrical engineers creating green energy during her speech Friday.

“Just ask any Marine today, would she rather carry 20 pounds of batteries or a rolled-up solar panel, and I am positive she will tell you a solar panel, and so would he,” she said, before laughing.

The White House declined to comment on the tweet that garnered negative attention.

I am certain that they did.

America’s President and Vice-President are supposed to be America’s biggest advocates…not our biggest detractors.

I have never heard one word from Joe Biden or Kamala Harris about how wonderful America is and how much they appreciate our men and women of the Armed Forces and the sacrifices which those before us have made to secure our American Freedom.

Everything word that comes out of their mouths is either about how great they are or about what a backwards, bigoted nation with a long way to go America is.

For Kamala Harris to be so tone deaf, while appalling, is not surprising.

She is so awful that only 1% of the Democrats backed her in the Democratic Presidential Primaries.

She jump-started her political career by becoming 60-yeear old Willie Brown’s paramour.

Since she has been Biden’s Vice-President and presumed successor when his Handlers cannot hide his dementia from the American public anymore, Kamala hasn’t done squat.

When Biden announced that he was putting his VP in charge of the “situation” at the Southern Border, I am sure that all of the Mexican Cartels breathed a sigh of relief.

That was over 50 days ago and she still has not visited our southern border, yet.

But, I digress…

Just like the Clintons and the Obamas before them, the Biden-Harris Administration have absolutely no respect for our Armed Forces.

Flag-draped coffins and grieving families do not move them at all.

To them, our Armed Forces are simply another vehicle by which to advance their mission to spread “Wokeness” (Cultural Marxist ) throughout our Sovereign Nation in order to usher in “Democratic Socialism”.

And, in order to do that, the current Administration is in the process of purging our Armed Forces of “extremists”, because those in their ranks who believe in Traditional American Faith and Values would resist fighting for a political ideology that is the exact opposite of what their ancestors fought and died in battle to preserve.

So, when Kamala Harris disrespected our Brightest and Best who died while serving our country by not acknowledging the reason for a three-day weeked…it was intentional.

To do so would be against what she believes in.

Until He Comes,

Trump Lauds Our Armed Forces and American Exceptionalism, Reminds Americans “We Are All Made By One Almighty God!”

https://twitter.com/toddstarnes/status/1146915957308309504

FoxNews.com reports that

With the Lincoln Memorial in the background and flanked on both sides by camouflaged Bradley fighting vehicles, President Trump used his “Salute to America” speech Thursday evening to praise the men and women of the Armed Forces and American exceptionalism.

Despite concerns that he would use the Fourth of July event as a glorified campaign rally, Trump stuck mainly to the script during his speech – praising the spirit that “runs through the veins of every American patriot” and attempting to strike a more unifying and conciliatory tone than he is generally known to take.

“Today, we come together as one nation with this very special Salute to America,” a smiling Trump said. “We celebrate our history, our people, and the heroes who proudly defend our flag — the brave men and women of the United States military.”

From George Washington leading the Continental Army to the Apollo 11 moon landing, Trump rattled off a list of American accomplishments and inventions in the name of freedom, while surreptitiously sneaking in a boast about his administration’s accomplishments.

“Americans love our freedom and no one will ever take it away from us,” Trump said to chants of “U-S-A.” “Our nation is stronger today than it ever was before, it is stronger now stronger than ever.”

Trump followed his speech with an individual honor to each branch of the U.S. military — Coast Guard, Navy, Army, Air Force and Marines.

Despite the cloudy skies, Trump’s speech was punctuated by flyovers by military aircraft ranging from the Air Forces F-22 Raptors and B-2 Stealth Bomber to the Navy’s F-18 Super Hornets and Army Apache helicopters.

“Today, just as it did 243 years ago, the future of American Freedom rests on the shoulders of men and women willing to defend it,” Trump said. “As long as we stay true to our cause — as long as we remember our great history — and as long as we never stop fighting for a better future—then there will be nothing that America cannot do.”

“We will never forget that we are Americans, and the future belongs to us,” he said. “We share one home, one heart and we are all made by one almighty God.”

Trump’s speech was capped off with a performance by the Navy Blue Angels flight team.

While Trump’s speech set a unifying tone, the lead-up to the event was far from pacific – with Trump’s opponents slamming him on everything from the cost of the event to the perceived exploitation of the holiday for a political purpose.

Rep. Betty McCollum, D-Minn., who is among the lawmakers overseeing the Interior Department, which has jurisdiction over the National Mall and federal parks, said it was “absolutely outrageous” that the administration will use park money to help defray Thursday’s event costs. The National Park Service plans to use nearly $2.5 million intended to help improve parks nationwide, The Washington Post reported late Tuesday, citing anonymous sources.

“These fees are not a slush fund for this administration to use at will,” McCollum said in a statement. She promised a congressional hearing.

Two outside groups, the National Parks Conservation Foundation and Democracy Forward, want the department’s internal watchdog to investigate what they say may be a “potentially unlawful decision to divert” national parks money to Trump’s “spectacle.”

Former high-ranking members of the Armed Forces also weighed on Trump’s celebration, with retired U.S. Army Gen. Barry McCaffrey – a frequent critic of the president – calling the “Salute to America” “narcissistic” and that it will set up “another vile political fight.”

“He’s turning it into a “narcissistic display for his own purpose,” McCaffrey said on MSNBC on Wednesday. “It undoubtedly is a political event which makes everyone uneasy in the Pentagon.”

Trump defended the cost of the event on Wednesday, tweeting that cost “will be very little compared to what it is worth.”

“We own the planes, we have the pilots, the airport is right next door (Andrews), all we need is the fuel,” he said, referring to Maryland’s Joint Base Andrews, home for some of the planes that are to fly over the Mall on Thursday. “We own the tanks and all. Fireworks are donated by two of the greats.”

Washington has held an Independence Day celebration for decades, featuring a parade along Constitution Avenue, a concert on the Capitol lawn with music by the National Symphony Orchestra and fireworks beginning at dusk near the Washington Monument.

Trump altered the lineup by adding his speech, moving the fireworks closer to the Lincoln Memorial and summoning the tanks and warplanes.

Yesterday afternoon, a bunch of “useful idiots” (as the real Communists have always called those who have fallen under their spell and have bought in to their Marxist B.S.) burned a couple of American Flags out in front of the White House

Like the rest of the “miserables” in the Far Left Democratic Party, they are not only useful idiots, they are ungrateful ones as well.

Thank God they represent a minority in this country.

Why are the majority of Americans so optimistic about the direction of our Sovereign Nation?

Perhaps it’s because, after Inauguration Day 2017, the Washington Status Quo no longer applies to the man who is the President of our Sovereign Country.

There has been no racially-divisive rhetoric coming out of the Oval Office, no allusions to the Marxism Axioms revolving around Class Warfare, no self-deification, such as

“This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”

By the way, how did that “Hope and Change” work out for ya?

But, I digress…

Instead, the Oval Office is occupied by a man who genuinely LOVES America and her people, instead of viewing us all as racist, misogynist, xenophobes.

And, therein lies the secret of Donald J. Trump’s success as President.

What Trump did, with his refusal early in his campaign to “act more presidential”, was to implement a strategy.

Trump has always been a “people person”.

That is the reason that, when he was still a contributor to Fox News, he would speak to everyone in the building, from the maintenance crew, on up the ladder.

As Sam Walton, the Founder of Walmart, knew, you don’t inspire people by acting imperious and above it all.

“Mr. Sam”, until his health would no longer allow him to do so, would travel to Walmart Stores in his old pickup truck, with a tie and a baseball cap on, visiting the employees, in order to find out how his stores were doing.

He knew that the only way to be successful and to stay in touch with the public, was to be out among them, and speak to them honestly and directly, as one would speak to a friend.

Just as President Trump has accomplished by his MAGA Rallies and his Daily Tweets to the American People.

The Political Establishment, of both parties, lost that concept, a long time ago.

Bypassing the borders to communication, historically determined by both political parties and the Main Stream Media, is a concept which I first witnessed being employed by a Presidential Candidate in the 1980 Presidential Election, named Ronald Wilson Reagan.

While I am not comparing the two, I am noting that this strategy has proved effective for both men.

As the polls have shown, Trump struck a resonant chord in the hearts of Average Americans, living here in the part of America, which the snobbish Political Elites refer to as “Flyover Country”, but which we refer to as “America’s Heartland”, or, quite simply, “HOME”.

Why does President Donald J. Trump remain so popular with average Americans?

The reason is very simple: WE WERE ANGRY AND WE FELT THAT NO ONE IN WASHINGTON, D.C.WAS LISTENING TO US.

Our palpable anger was one which had been building since January of 2009, when a Lightweight, who has as much in common with average Americans as a Martian would, was inaugurated as President of the United States of America.

That anger, a result of his anti-American actions and resulting policies, which so badly affected Americans’ daily lives, was then exacerbated by the Republican Elite, who, in their desire to “reach across the aisle” and “go along to get along”, intentionally distanced themselves from those who elected them to Congress in the first place.

Meanwhile, average Americans, like you and me, remained mired up to our necks in an abysmal swamp of bills and taxes, living paycheck-to-paycheck, afraid to make a move, for fearing of drowning in an ocean of debt.

Seemingly forgotten, in all of the forgotten promises, made by Barack Hussein Obama, were the over-94 million Americans, who were no longer, largely through no fault of their own, participating in our Workforce.

You want to talk about anger and frustration?

Try looking for work, when you are over 55 years of age.

Anger has played an important part in the forging of this great country.

It was anger that formed our country….an anger over being held captive to “Taxation Without Representation”…an anger which, as a prime example of history repeating itself, led Americans to choose a Citizen Statesman for their next President over a Professional Politician.

It is this anger, which also propelled Donald J. Trump to his victory in the Republican Primary Race…and those who prefer the Washingtonian Status Quo knew it.

That is why the Republican Establishment, at least some of them, wound up hitching a ride on “The Trump Train”.

If they had not accepted the reality of his Primary Victory, and the fact that Americans are angry, they would have gone down to defeat again in 2016.

They would have never achieved victory by once again trying to push the Jello of “Liberal Moderation” up a hill.

Hence, the failed campaign of Jeb! Bush.

In summation, the American people were tired of Political Correctness and anti-American political expediencies being forced down our throats by both political parties and trumpeted by their lackeys in the Main Stream Media.

Donald Trump, for all of his brashness and braggadocio, was a breath of free air and, quite frankly an anomaly. He’s not a professional politician. He is a businessman who wanted to become a public servant.

And, the American People have gave him the opportunity of a lifetime.

And, so far, through what he has accomplished through his remarkable economic and diplomatic victories since he was inaugurated, he has demonstrated that he is up to the challenge.

A quote attributed to Helen Keller states that

Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.

Ms. Keller predicted America under the presidency of Donald J. Trump, didn’t she?

KEEP AMERICA GREAT!

Memorial Day 2019: Liberty is Freedom With Responsibility

memorial-day-true-meaning-ftr (2)

Last night, as I sat down to write today’s post, I tried to think about something pithy to write.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. – John 15:13-17

May God bless and comfort the families of our Fallen Heroes and may their memories and our American Freedom endure.

Until He Comes,

KJ

“This is the behavior of obstructionist losers, not legislators. When Democrats start paying our armed forces and first responders we will reopen negotiations on immigration reform,” – White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders

FoxNews.com reports that

The deadline arrived without a deal. The U.S. government shut down at midnight Friday after Congress failed to overcome a partisan divide over immigration and spending.

In a late-night vote, Senate Democrats joined to block a bill that would have kept the government running until mid-February. A flurry of last-minute negotiations failed to produce an agreement.

Democrats tried to use the Friday night funding deadline to win concessions from Republicans, including an extension of DACA, an Obama-era program protecting some young immigrants from deportation. The program is set to expire in March. Republicans sought more time for talks, but Democrats refused.

The shutdown is only the fourth government closure in a quarter-century. It will only partially curb government operations.

Uniformed service members, health inspectors, and law enforcement officers are set to work without pay. But Social Security and most other safety net programs are unaffected.

If no deal is brokered by Monday, hundreds of thousands of federal employees are set to be furloughed.

The White House and Capitol Hill will be working with skeleton staffs, but some government agencies, like the Environmental Protection Agency, have said they were able to shift funding around to keep most workers on the job. National parks and federal museums will be open, but with potentially reduced services.

Earlier Friday night, President Donald Trump seemed pessimistic that a deal could be reached in time.

“Not looking good for our great Military or Safety & Security on the very dangerous Southern Border,” the president tweeted. “Dems want a Shutdown in order to help diminish the great success of the Tax Cuts, and what they are doing for our booming economy.”

Negotiations, however, continued through the evening, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., working to pass a resolution to keep the government open, White House sources said.

Earlier in the day, demonstrators were seen protesting in support of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in the Russell Senate Office Building. Democrats refused to back a short-term spending bill unless it includes protections for illegal immigrants brought to the country as children.

“Republicans – who control the House, Senate, and WH – are on the verge of making #TrumpShutdown a reality because they refuse to protect DREAMers and provide long-term certainty for our military, the opioid crisis, CHIP, and other key issues,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi tweeted late Friday night.

During the day Friday, Schumer met with President Trump at the White House as part of an effort to avert the imminent shutdown.

That meeting came as the White House coined a decidedly Trumpian phrase in the battle to assign blame for the standoff, branding it the “Schumer Shutdown.”

A senior White House official told Fox News that the Trump-Schumer meeting was productive, but there was no deal yet. Still, the president labeled the meeting “excellent” in a tweet.

“Making progress,” Trump wrote, adding that a “four week extension would be best!”

“We had a long and detailed meeting,” Schumer said in a statement. “We discussed all of the major outstanding issues, we made some progress, but we still have a good number of disagreements. The discussions will continue.”

According to a White House source, Schumer arrived in the Oval Office and presented the president with a list of demands on domestic issues that went well beyond just DACA. The president listened to Schumer and appeared perplexed as Schumer rattled off his agenda items, the source said. The president told Schumer he wasn’t going to get all of those demands in a spending bill.

Schumer, the source said, did appear open to considering a continuing resolution that would keep the government funded for five days. The official White House position is still a 30-day extension.

Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney on Friday accused the Democrats of opposing a bill that contains nothing they are against.

“They don’t oppose anything in the bill, but they are opposing the bill,” Mulvaney said, pointing to popular measures in the bill such as funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Democrats seemed to be aware of the importance of messaging, with Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., taking to the Senate floor with an image declaring the logjam a “Trump Shutdown,” quoting a tweet from President Trump from May saying “our country needs a good ‘shutdown.'”

Markey blasted Republicans complaining about the threat of a shutdown, telling them to “spare me your crocodile tears.”

The Republican-dominated House of Representatives passed a one-month bill Thursday night by a vote of 230-197 that broke down largely along party lines, with 11 Republicans voting no and six Democrats voting yes.

Senate Democrats have said that Democrats want any spending bill to include a fix for DACA. Trump repealed the order in September, and gave Congress a deadline of March to come up with a legislative fix.

“Unless we pass the #DreamAct, I won’t support another short-term funding bill,” Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., tweeted Thursday. “Our Dreamers have waited far too long for a chance to be a part of this country’s future.”

Republicans had hoped to back Democrats into a corner by attaching a six-year CHIP extension to the bill. But Democrats have so far refused to budge.

Republicans have repeatedly put the blame firmly on Democrats’ positioning on DACA as the reason for the looming shutdown.

“Apparently they believe the issue of illegal immigration is more important than anything else, than the government services the American people depend on,” McConnell said.

President Trump has repeatedly urged Congress to keep the government open, warning that a shutdown will harm the U.S. military. The White House announced that Trump would not travel to Florida, as previously scheduled, until the continuing resolution is signed.

What caused the Democrats to shut down OUR Government?

On June 15, 2012, President Obama issued an executive order enacting his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which essentially put into effect various aspects of the DREAM Act. Specifically, the DACA order gave lawful permanent residency status and work authorization to anyone who: (a) had arrived in America illegally as a minor; (b) had lived in the U.S. for at least five years; (c) was either a current student or a high-school graduate; or (d) had served in the military and was not yet 35 years old.

With this executive order, Obama did precisely what he had said, numerous times, that he had no constitutional authority to do. For example, in a July 2011 speech to the National Council of La Raza, the president stated: “Now, I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own. Believe me, the idea of doing things on my own is very tempting. I promise you. Not just on immigration reform. But that’s not how our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions. That’s not how our Constitution is written.”

Why would Obama have done something like that?

Simple. He was preparing to capitalize on predicted future migratory trends in order to grow his political party.

Obama created a charity which rewarded the breaking and entering of our Sovereign Country at American Taxpayers’ expense.

And now, rather than secure our country’s Southern Border and fund our Best and Brightest, our American Armed Forces, the Far Left Democratic Party has shut down our Federal Government in defense of 800,000 ILLEGAL ALIENS.

And, here is the most paradoxical and hypocritical part of this whole fiasco: The Democrats couldn’t give a ticker’s damn about the “Dreamers” as individuals. They are simply a “political tool” which they are using en masse to continue the “radical change” begun under the Obama Administration…forcefully devolving America from a Constitutional Republic to a Democratic Socialist Third World S—hole.

The Democrats kept on pursuing their tone-deaf political strategy of the defense of DACA, believing that the Republicans would cave in,

What they underestimated, or perhaps completely overlooked, blocked by their upturned snooty noses, was the backbone and determination of “Citizen Statesman” Donald J. Trump, the 45th president of the United States of America.

As Trump has proven in the last almost 13 months, he does not participate in the usual Political Games, which have been played for decades up on Capitol Hill.

What we have been witnessing for the past year, is a battle between tired political strategy, which has only succeeded in harming our nation and not helping it, and the tools which a non-politician has brought to the Presidency: courage conviction, common sense, and “the Art of the Deal”.

Trump has been playing a game of chicken with Congressional Democrats and their enablers, the Vichy Republicans…and, they blinked first.

Trump has made Congress work harder for their money, while inadvertently showing their colors to their constituencies, than any president has in decades.

The bottom line is that the politically bestowed “rights” of these “Dreamers” do not supersede the right of Americans to secure our Southern Border and becoming an American Citizen is NOT A RIGHT.

It is a privilege.

DOD’s MAVNI Program Placed Unvetted Immigrants Into Our Armed Forces

basic-training-parris-island

Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI) is a recruiting program that allows legal non-citizens with in-demand skills to join the Army in exchange for expedited U.S. citizenship. – MAVNI | goarmy.com

Yesterday, Fox News’ James Rosen  filed the following report…

EXCLUSIVE: Defense Department investigators have discovered “potential security risks” in a Pentagon program that has enrolled more than 10,000 foreign-born individuals into the U.S. armed forces since 2009, Fox News has learned exclusively, with sources on Capitol Hill and at the Pentagon expressing alarm over “foreign infiltration” and enrollees now unaccounted for.

After more than a year of investigation, the Pentagon’s inspector general recently issued a report – its contents still classified but its existence disclosed here for the first time – identifying serious problems with Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI), a DOD program that provides immigrants and non-immigrant aliens with an expedited path to citizenship in exchange for military service.

Defense Department officials said the program is still active but acknowledged that new applications have been suspended.

Created in the final weeks of the Bush-Cheney administration and launched under then-President Barack Obama, MAVNI was designed to recruit individuals with foreign-language and other skills the Pentagon deems useful and in short supply. The program has had many success stories – most notably the Army’s Soldier of the Year in 2012, Sgt. Saral Shrestha, originally of Nepal – and independent analyses have found MAVNI recruits out-perform non-MAVNI soldiers in critical areas.

Yet concern over management of the program has grown over recent months.

“The lack of discipline in implementation of this program has created problems elsewhere,” said Rep. Steve Russell, R-Okla., a retired Army officer who sits on the House Armed Services subcommittee on military personnel. It was Russell who first publicly sounded alarms. During the markup of the latest defense authorization bill, on June 28, Russell noted: “The program has been replete with problems, to include foreign infiltration – so much so that the Department of Defense is seeking to suspend the program due to those concerns.”

Another lawmaker, whose committee does not enjoy jurisdiction over MAVNI – but whose panel could well come to focus on these problems, depending on their severity – told Fox News that the program had been “compromised” and that DOD officials have not presented answers to his questions about missing enrollees: “Where are they? What do they know? Where are they serving? What are their numbers?”

Contacted by Fox News, Army Lt. Col. Paul Haverstick, a Pentagon spokesman, said in a statement: “The Department of Defense is conducting a review of the MAVNI pilot program due to potential security risks associated with the program.” Beyond that, however, Haverstick declined to comment, citing “pending litigation.”

Defense Secretary James Mattis, whom sources said had developed his own concerns about MAVNI, was named as the sole defendant in a lawsuit filed in February by seven foreign-born MAVNI enrollees. The lawsuit alleged that a decision by top brass in September to tighten up access to security clearances issued through MAVNI had had the effect of “crippling their military careers.”

Sources said MAVNI’s problems included a vetting backlog that led to enrollment of many soldiers prior to completion of their background checks, and an attendant “drift” in the program’s criteria, with MAVNI being used as a vehicle for the hiring of workers – like cooks, drivers and mechanics – who did not possess the specialized skills the program was created to exploit.

The title of the inspector general’s classified report – “Evaluation of Military Services’ Compliance with Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest Program Security Reviews and Monitoring Programs” – hints at the problems, with its references to “security reviews” and “monitoring” of enrolled individuals.

Some lawmakers have received classified briefings on the matter. Sources said some of the countries of origin for MAVNI enrollees are “of concern,” but as of yet there is no evidence in the public domain that ISIS, Al Qaeda, or any other terrorist groups have penetrated the MAVNI program. Still, such a development remains an active concern.

“ISIS has always had desire to use migration as way to penetrate into countries,” said retired U.S. Army General Jack Keane, a Fox News military analyst. “They have done that successfully in Europe because of open borders, mass immigration with no vetting. In the U.S., we haven’t had any record of their penetration. And certainly if this program is compromised and there’s a possibility of that kind of penetration, it’s got to be thoroughly investigated.”

Okay. Let me get this straight.

Bush and Cheney came up with the concept of this program, in order to bring in operatives who possessed skills which would aid us in the defense of our country.

Obama and his Administration implemented it and screwed the whole thing up by allowing in unvetted individuals from countries which are “of concern”.

I’m shocked. Shocked, I tell you.

Why, next thing you’ll be telling me is that he allowed unaccompanied minors, some of whom were found to be disease-ridden, to come across our Southern Borders, only to be secreted away by Government Forces and dispersed across the country.

Why, you will probably even tell me that Obama tried to get as many unvetted Syrian Refugees into our country as he could before his time in office ran out.

And, you know what?

I would believe you.

I documented it.

A long time ago, Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) decided that our country’s rules, laws, and even our Constitution, were “fluid” and subject to change…by him.

The above-mentioned MAVNI program, as Mr. Rosen details, could easily have been used to sneak the Radical Islamists of ISIS into the ranks of our Brightest and Best.

Through a combination of purposeful obtuseness, lackadaisical administration, and unbridled arrogance, Obama, due to his intentional incompetency, almost succeeded in turning the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave into a Democratic Socialist Paradise.

Praise the Lord that Americans now have a President and Administration who are determined to undo the damage wrought upon us by Obama and his flunkies.

Flunkies who are still fighting for the destruction of America as we know it, as “The Resistance”.

These “New Bolsheviks” as I have dubbed them are oblivious to the dangers which the previous Administration brought upon us. Their naiveté, and desire for self-gratification have them wearing horses’ blinders as they pull the carriage of those who would weaken and ultimately destroy our nation.

You have probably seen some polls which state that the President is unpopular.

These same polls also predicted that Hillary Clinton would be the 45th President.

Average Americans respect what the Trump Administration is doing to help make our country safe again.

Stopping the political shenanigans at the MAVNI Program will certainly help in that endeavor.

Until He Comes,

Trump Ends Obama’s “Social Experiment” by Kicking “Lola” Out of Our Armed Forces.

bradley_chelsea_manning-1000x600

“After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you.” – President Donald J. Trump, 7/26/17

The New York Times reports that

President Trump abruptly announced a ban on transgender people serving in the military on Wednesday, blindsiding his defense secretary and Republican congressional leaders with a snap decision that reversed a year-old policy reviled by social conservatives. Mr. Trump made the surprise declaration on Twitter, saying that American forces could not afford the “tremendous medical costs and disruption” of transgender service members. He said he had consulted generals and military experts, but Jim Mattis, the defense secretary, was given only a day’s notice about the decision.

Mr. Trump elected to announce the ban in order to resolve a quietly brewing fight on Capitol Hill over whether taxpayer money should pay for gender transition and hormone therapy for transgender service members, which had threatened to kill a $790 billion defense and security spending package scheduled for a vote this week.

But rather than addressing that narrow issue, Mr. Trump opted to upend the entire policy on transgender service members, a move that few on Capitol Hill or at the Pentagon expected.

Mr. Trump announced the decision with such haste that the White House could not answer basic inquiries about how it would be carried out, including what would happen to openly transgender people now serving on active duty; of eight defense officials interviewed, none could say.

“That’s something that the Department of Defense and the White House will have to work together as implementation takes place and is done so lawfully,” Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, said.

Still, the announcement thrilled elements of Mr. Trump’s base, who have been dismayed to see the president break so bitterly in recent days with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, a hard-line conservative.

Civil rights and transgender advocacy groups denounced the policy, with some vowing to challenge it in court. Pentagon officials expressed dismay that the president’s tweets, blasted out before they could consider how to make the change, could open them to lawsuits.

The ban would reverse the gradual transformation of the military under President Barack Obama, whose administration announced last year that transgender people could serve openly in the military. Mr. Obama’s defense secretary, Ashton B. Carter, also opened all combat roles to women and appointed the first openly gay Army secretary.

And it represented a stark turnabout from Mr. Trump’s rhetoric during his campaign, when he billed himself as an ally of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

The president, Ms. Sanders said, had concluded that allowing transgender people to serve openly “erodes military readiness and unit cohesion, and made the decision based on that.”

Mr. Mattis, who was on vacation, was silent on the new policy. People close to the defense secretary said he was appalled that Mr. Trump chose to unveil his decision in tweets, in part because of the message they sent to transgender active-duty service members, including those deployed overseas, that they were suddenly no longer welcome.

The policy would affect only a small portion of the approximately 1.3 million active-duty members of the military. Some 2,000 to 11,000 active-duty troops are transgender, according to a 2016 RAND Corporation study commissioned by the Pentagon, though estimates of the number of transgender service members have varied widely, and are sometimes as high as 15,000.

The study found that allowing transgender people to serve openly in the military would “have minimal impact on readiness and health care costs” for the Pentagon. It estimated that health care costs would rise $2.4 million to $8.4 million a year, representing an infinitesimal 0.04 to 0.13 percent increase in spending. Citing research into other countries that allow transgender people to serve, the study projected “little or no impact on unit cohesion, operational effectiveness or readiness” in the United States.

The announcement came amid the debate on Capitol Hill over the Obama-era practice of requiring the Pentagon to pay for medical treatment related to gender transition. Representative Vicky Hartzler, Republican of Missouri, has proposed an amendment to the spending bill that would bar the Pentagon from spending money on transition surgery or related hormone therapy, and other Republicans have pressed for similar provisions.

Mr. Mattis had worked behind the scenes to keep such language out of legislation, quietly lobbying Republican lawmakers not to attach the prohibitions, according to congressional and defense officials.

But Mr. Trump was concerned that the transgender medical care issue could imperil the security spending measure, which also contains $1.6 billion for the border wall that he has championed, and wanted to resolve the dispute cleanly and straightforwardly, according to a person familiar with his thinking, who insisted on anonymity to describe it. That prompted his ban.

The president’s decision shocked even Republican congressional leaders, who were aware Mr. Trump was looking into whether taxpayer money should be spent on medical procedures for transgender service members, but had not expected him to go so far as to bar transgender people from serving altogether.

Mr. Trump and Republican lawmakers had come under pressure from Tony Perkins, the president of the Family Research Council, a leading Christian conservative group, and an ally of Mr. Trump. Mr. Perkins opposed the bill over spending on transgender medical costs and lobbied lawmakers to do the same.

“Grant repentance to President Trump and Secretary Mattis for even considering to keep this wicked policy in place,” the Family Research Council said in one of its daily prayers last week. “Grant them understanding, courage and willpower to stand up to the forces of darkness that gave birth to it and wholly to repeal it.”

Opponents of allowing openly transgender service members had raised a number of concerns, including what they said was the questionable psychological fitness of those troops and the cost the military would bear for their medical treatment, potentially including gender reassignment procedures. They said the military was being used for social experimentation at the expense of national security.

“This was Ash Carter on his way out the door pulling the pin on a cultural grenade,” Mr. Perkins said on Wednesday. “Our military leaders are saying this doesn’t help make us a better fighting force; it’s a distraction; it’s taking up limited resources.”

Mr. Carter objected to the decision, for its effect on the military and on those considering joining.

“To choose service members on other grounds than military qualifications is social policy and has no place in our military,” he said in a statement. “There are already transgender individuals who are serving capably and honorably. This action would also send the wrong signal to a younger generation thinking about military service.”

While some conservative lawmakers, including Ms. Hartzler, praised Mr. Trump, the president drew bipartisan condemnation on Capitol Hill and outrage from civil rights and transgender advocacy groups.

The majority of Americans do not care what they think.

We want our tax money to be used to assist our military in the job of defending our country and winning wars, not on chopping off someone’s manhood and turning Bruce into “Caitlyn” and vice-versa.

And we do not want our daughters having to share a barracks with a man who wants to be a woman…or claims that he does….or vice-versa.

As a Brother-in-Christ of mine commented on Facebook yesterday,

This is the United States Armed Forces. This isn’t a Country Club.

While Barack Hussein Obama was our Armed Forces Commander in-Chief (Thank God, he isn’t any more), the responsibility for everything that happened to the men and women serving in our armed forces, in which some part of our federal government is involved, both during and after their service, fell on his shoulders and his alone.

Through his treatment of our Heroes as “ancillary” servants to be used for social experimentation and budget cutting, when he wanted to use their money to further his socialization of America, Obama placed our Armed Forces in an untenable situation.

Distinguished American Veteran, Former United States Representative Lt. Col. Allen B. West once wrote the following, concerning Obama’s treatment of our Armed Forces:

Barack Hussein Obama cannot be seen as a Commander-in-Chief and I will never refer to him that way. His fundamental transformation of America means weakening our nation and leaving our Republic less secure. I can just imagine how appreciative and elated his Muslim Brotherhood friends are at this point, to include Turkey’s President Erdogan, as well as the mad mullahs in Iran.

Spot on.

I remember my ex-brother-in-law, Dave. My late step-sister met him at the USO in Memphis during the Vietnam War. David was a Polish Catholic from outside of Detroit, a Navy guy who received his training in the computers of the day, while in service to our country. When he got out, they got married and moved to Dearborn (now Dearbornistan), Michigan, where he got a job with Burroughs. I remember Dave, because he was always good to me, even though I was just a runt kid, 15 years younger than him. I remember him cleaning his service rifle, sitting on the living room floor of our house, and, making sure it was empty, allowing me to to hold it. At the time, I thought that was the coolest thing I had ever done.

I also remember John. John was a friend of my sister’s, who stayed with us, because of problems at home. As I have related before, my folks were the ones whom all my sister’s friends would talk to when they had trouble at home. John was great guy, as well, who wound up enlisting and serving in that “crazy Asian War”, as Kenny Rogers and Mel Tillis once referred to it in song.

I have related before about my own Daddy and my Uncles, and their service in World War II. I have also had friends that served over the years, and one who is still serving in the Air National Guard.

All of these men were/are Patriots. They enlisted out of duty to God and Country.

Our Brightest and Best, who wear the uniform today, are no less dedicated. They deserve to be treated with respect, not as pawns in a game of political expediency, whose rules as followed by the Previous Presidential Administration. included social experimentation, political correctness, and blatant disrespect by the then-Commander-in-Chief himself.

The greatest American President in my lifetime, Ronald Reagan, once said,

Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong.

Reagan was a realist. He realized that, as President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt once advised, the best way to keep America safe, is to “Speak softly and carry a big stick”.

We suffered for 8 long years under a president who spoke like a wuss and carried a feather pillow, a Mexican Flag, and a prayer rug.

And, you wonder why our Best and Brightest always erupt appreciation for their Present Commander-in-Chief, Donald J. Trump?

They are simply happy that they once again have a Commander-in-Chief who appreciates them. And, one who actually has their back for a change.

Petulant President Pantywaist Pardons Traitorous Transvestite

bradley_chelsea_manning

As you read this post, boys and girls, just remember…Obama still has two days left.

Fox News Insider reports that

President Obama has commuted the sentence of Chelsea Manning, a US Army private imprisoned for leaking sensitive information to WikiLeaks, Neil Cavuto reported.

Ben Stein said Obama’s commutation of Manning’s 35-year sentence is proof that America is now seeing the “real Barack Obama”.

“[He is] an extremely left-wing ideologue… [and is] showing himself to be anti-law-and-order and… anti-military,” Stein said.

Manning, a transgendered woman formerly known as Bradley Manning, will now be released on May 17th, Cavuto said.

Stein noted that while he has commuted Manning’s sentence for leaking information that hurt the military, his party is consistently “screaming berserk about leaks that hurt Democrats.”

“This is the real Democratic Party that was, thank goodness, defeated in the election,” Stein, an economist and actor, said.

Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson obtained the a readout of the commutation decision:

Chelsea Elizabeth Manning – Oklahoma City, OK

Offense: One specification of wrongful and wanton publication to the internet intelligence belonging to the United States; five specifications of stealing, purloining or knowingly converting U.S. government records; six specifications of willful communication of information relating to the national defense; one specification of willful communication of information in unlawful possession; one specification of willful communication of information relating to the national defense by exceeding authorized access to a U.S. government computer; one specification of willful communication of information relating to the national defense obtained by accessing a U.S. government computer; five specifications of failure to obey order or regulation; U.S. Army Court Martial

Sentence: 35 years’ imprisonment (August 21, 2013)

Commutation Grant: Prison sentence commuted to expire on May 17, 2017.

Former Pfc. Bradley Manning, is a certifiable wacko. That’s a medical term.

Even during his schooldays in his hometown of Crescent, Oklahoma, Bradley Manning clearly walked a different path than the other kids. He preferred hacking computer games instead of playing them, according to his former neighbors.   They also said that he was mouthy and hard-headed about politics, religion, and even about keeping religion out of politics.

He once derisively wrote in an e-mail, that his hometown had “more pews than people”.  While in school, Manning refused to recite the parts of the Pledge of Allegiance that referred to God or do homework assignments that involved the Scriptures. And if a teacher challenged his views, former classmates said, he gave them a bunch of lip back.

According to friends, Manning enlisted in the Army in 2007 in order to find some sort of direction for his life and to help to pay for college.

Somehow, he received a security clearance and trained as an intelligence analyst at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., before he was assigned to the Second Brigade 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, N.Y.

While deployed in Iraq, he was far less than a model soldier, receiving reprimands twice, once for assaulting an officer. He even wore custom dog tags that read Humanist…and he kept a fairy wand on his desk.

Per an article on wired.com, Manning said that he was lip-syncing to Lady Gaga as he downloaded all of the documents to WikiLeaks.

I really do not wish to even think about what he might have been wearing at the time.

Manning was arrested for leaking classified information to unauthorized persons.

He was brought into custody in Kuwait in June of 2009.

Manning’s Pardon is Obama’s way of “flipping the bird” to our Brightest and Best.

For 8 long years, Obama has been America’s Armed Forces Commander in-Chief (unfortunately). The responsibility for everything that happened during this time to the men and women serving in our armed forces, in which some part of our federal government was involved, both during and after their service, falls on his shoulders and his alone.

Through his treatment of our Heroes as “ancillary” servants to be used for social experimentation and budget cutting, while he was using  their money to further his socialization of America, Obama placed our Armed Forces in an untenable situation.

They deserve to be treated with respect, not as pawns in a game of political expediency, whose rules including social experimentation, political correctness, and blatant disrespect by the Commander-in-Chief..

I wonder if this anti-American President and his administration were secretly pleased that the leaking of classified material had the possibility of succeeding in doing what their Foreign Policy was aimed at all along….moving America from her position of Protector of the Free World to just another country.

I’m not saying that Obama wanted to put any of our military or covert operatives in harm’s way to achieve that purpose.  But, given the rhetoric that we heard coming from this administration for 8 years, I do not think that they viewed America being taken down a peg or two by Manning’s treason as necessarily a bad thing.

Gather all the information concerning their reaction at the time to the leaks for yourself.  It’s an unavoidable conclusion.  Classified documents were being leaked and those pinheads were making  jokes about it and seemed to be taking the whole situation very lightly.

In the past, Former Pfc. Manning would have already been on the receiving end of a 21 gun salute and the Traitorous Transvestite would have mysteriously expired from a severe case of cranial lead poisoning.

But, that was back when we had American Presidents who did not want to radically change our country.

Unfortunately for us, we have suffered for 8 long years with a president who speaks like a wuss and carries a feather pillow, a Mexican Flag, and a prayer rug.

Thank Our Creator that Friday is his last day in the Oval Office.

Until He Comes,

KJ
