This morning, while my bride was in the shower, I took the opportunity to channel surf. Hey, I’m a guy. That’s what we do. I landed on Morning Joe on MSNBC. Willie Geist and some unknown young lady were hosting. They were talking to New York times Columnist Clarence Page about Frank Rich’s latest column, “The Rage Is Not About Health Care”. Because my blood pressure pill and the Prevacid had not kicked in yet, I changed the channel quickly.

Later, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to read Rich’s column.

What a bunch of psuedo-intellectual elitist garbage. For example, he opines with slanted subjectivity that, “How curious that a mob fond of likening President Obama to Hitler knows so little about history that it doesn’t recognize its own small-scale mimicry of Kristallnacht. The weapon of choice for vigilante violence at Congressional offices has been a brick hurled through a window. So far.”

Frankie, if you would come down from your ivory tower in that bastion of Liberal ideology known as the rapidly-tanking “Gray Lady”, The New York Times, you would find that the majority of Americans are quite aware of the history of their country. They are aware that America was founded by a group of brave and hardy souls who left their native land seeking freedom from a oppressive tyrant who was levying back-breaking taxes while trying to force them to worship under a state-run religion. This leader falsely believed in his own intellectual superiority and divine right to leadership. Later on in our country’s history , we participated in a World War against the man you mentined earlier. He, too, falsely believed in his own intellectual superiority and divine right. He was even a altar boy when he was young. His fascist obsession for power and hatred of the Jews brought terror to a large portion of the world until he was stopped due to the bravery and self-sacrifice of heroic men and women, with Americans leading them on the path to victory.

Frankie goes on to write that, “If Obama’s first legislative priority had been immigration or financial reform or climate change, we would have seen the same trajectory. The conjunction of a black president and a female speaker of the House — topped off by a wise Latina on the Supreme Court and a powerful gay Congressional committee chairman — would sow fears of disenfranchisement among a dwindling and threatened minority in the country no matter what policies were in play. It’s not happenstance that Frank, Lewis and Cleaver — none of them major Democratic players in the health care push — received a major share of last weekend’s abuse. When you hear demonstrators chant the slogan “Take our country back!,” these are the people they want to take the country back from.”

Frankie, you’re almost right. These are some of the people that the majority of Americans want to take their country back from. However, to paraphrase a man that was slain in my home town: It’s not about the color of their skin. It’s about the content of their character.

Americans view the Administration, Congress and the Liberal Leadership as tone-deaf, self-centered elitists, obsessed with the accumulation of power, whose actions reflect an ideology based on relative ethics and morality. They watch as The President of the United States alineates our allies and embraces our enemies. The lokk on with incredulity as their leaders ignore their wishes and pass the largest entitlement program American has ever known. They see themselves, their families, and friends out of work while a government that should be focusing on growing the ecomony is instead bent on taking it over and changing it our economic system from capitalism to socialism.

Americans are watching their freedoms being taken away under the guise of a tone-deaf fascist ideology camoflagued as compassion. Americans today essentially want the same thing that our Founding Fathers wanted. Americans want to be a free people living in a free republic.

That’s what it’s all about, Frankie. It’s not about ignorance and racism. It’s about an awakening Patriotism.

“In a reversal of a long-standing ban on most offshore drilling, President Barack Obama is allowing oil drilling 50 miles off Virginia’s shorelines. At the same time, he is rejecting some new drilling sites that had been planned in Alaska.

Obama’s plan offers few concessions to environmentalists, who have been strident in their opposition to more oil platforms off the nation’s shores. Hinted at for months, the plan modifies a ban that for more than 20 years has limited drilling along coastal areas other than the Gulf of Mexico.

Obama was set to announce the new drilling policy Wednesday at Andrews air base in Maryland. White House officials pitched the changes as ways to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign oil and create jobs – both politically popular ideas – but the president’s decisions also could help secure support for a climate change bill languishing in Congress.”

Earth-shattering? Dogs and cats-living-together type of revolation? Not quite. In sales, it’s called Bait and Switch. If “Scooter” was really serious about ending our dependence on foreign oil, he would have been all over the following information after he first took office.

According to an article published on miningtopnews.com on April 17, 2008:

“The Bakken oil formation, which stretches across North Dakota, Montana and southeastern Saskatchewan, is waiting for us.

“On Thursday, April 10, 2008, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) published an official study on the massive Bakken reserve.

Among the agency’s findings:

* Up to 4.3 billion barrels of oil could be recovered from the Bakken shale formation — a 25-fold increase compared to its initial assessment in 1995.
* The Bakken is the largest “continuous” oil accumulation ever assessed by the USGS.

This comes after a 2006 report by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), which stated, “A study provides estimates ranging up to 503 billion barrels of potential resources in place.”

According to the EIA, the success of horizontal drilling and fracturing efforts in Montana is the reason a decision was made to re-evaluate the 1995 USGS Assessment of Resources, which put estimates of technically recoverable oil from the Bakken Formation at only 151 million barrels.

The Bakken oil formation lies in the “Williston Basin,” a geological formation in the north central U.S., underlying much of North Dakota, eastern Montana, northwestern South Dakota, and southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Canada.”

Why aren’t we utilizing our God-given natural resources? Are we saving some sort of endangered species, like a cross-eyed rattlesnake? In church, we’re taught the parable of the servants who were given money by their master and told to hold the money for him until he retuned. All except one invested it wisely. He buried the money for safe-keeping in the ground and when the master returned, he chewed him out for his poor stewardship..

Great strides have been made in the Oil Production Industry. It’s cleaner than ever. There is no logical reason that this massive oil field is not being tapped. The reason this solution to our dependency on foreign oil is being ignored is strictly political and someone needs to answer for it.

Who’s responsible?

Harry Truman told us where the buck stops.

Fast forward to July 2, 2008. Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama proclaims in a speech:

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set,” he said. “We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

Barack Hussein Obama becomes President of the United States of America on the theme of “Hope and Change” and a rarely discussed, though publicly proclaimed, political ideology of “spreading the wealth”(a.k.a. Socialism). He immediately sets sail in pursuit of the Great White Whale that has alluded Far Left Democrats for years: The Socialization of America. He immediately passes a so-called Stimulus Bill, which turns out to been nothing more than a ineffectual bill laden with more pork than the Rendezvous Restaurant in Memphis, TN (rest in peace, Charlie Vergos). Then he shoots the moon. He announces that the world’s finest Healthcare System is horribly flawed and needs government intervention. He spends all his political capital, makes the health insurance companies his personal scapegoat and the bill finally passes, through subterfuge and chicanery, almost 1 ½ years into his Presidency.
April Fools!!!! “Scooter “ Obama hid some nifty little extras in his Healthcare, err Health Insurance, err, Healthcare Reform Bill, now the law of the land. For instance:
Section 5210 of HR 3590 the Obamacare Healthcare Reform Law: Establishing a Ready Reserve Corps.

Per Judge Andrew Napolitano:

“In the healthcare debate during the last few months, the issue of creating a small armed force under the control of the President seems to have escaped notice. The legislation that creates this para-military force purports to pre-empt the authority of State governors to control their own National Guard, absent war, which the Constitution does not authorize.”

The new Obamacare healthcare law creates a Ready Reserve Corp – an army of emergency responders. The US Public Health Service describes this army as “an elite team of more than 6,000 full-time, well-trained, highly qualified public health professionals dedicated to delivering the nation’s public health promotion and disease prevention programs and advancing public health science.” It also says the force will respond on short notice to “routine public health and emergency response missions,” even involuntarily.

According the US Public Health Service, the new health care army will:
* Provide essential public health and health care services to under-served and disadvantaged populations
* Prevent and control injury and the spread of disease
* Ensure that the nation’s food supply, drinking water, drugs, medical devices and environment are safe
* Conduct and support cutting-edge research for the prevention, treatment and elimination of disease, health disparities and injury
* Work with other nations and international agencies to address global health challenges
Provide urgently needed public health and clinical expertise in response to large-scale local, regional and national public health emergencies and disasters

But wait, there’s more…

This egregious legislation also added the following text to Section 203 of the Public Health Service Act:
‘(b) Assimilating Reserve Corp Officers Into the Regular Corps- Effective on the date of enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, all individuals classified as officers in the Reserve Corps under this section (as such section existed on the day before the date of enactment of such Act) and serving on active duty shall be deemed to be commissioned officers of the Regular Corps.
‘(c) Purpose and Use of Ready Research-
‘(2) USES- The Ready Reserve Corps shall–
‘(A) participate in routine training to meet the general and specific needs of the Commissioned Corps;
‘(B) be available and ready for involuntary calls to active duty during national emergencies and public health crises, similar to the uniformed service reserve personnel;
‘(C) be available for backfilling critical positions left vacant during deployment of active duty Commissioned Corps members, as well as for deployment to respond to public health emergencies, both foreign and domestic; and
‘(D) be available for service assignment in isolated, hardship, and medically underserved communities (as defined in section 799B) to improve access to health services.
‘(d) Funding- For the purpose of carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the Commissioned Corps under this section, there are authorized to be appropriated $5,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2010 through 2014 for recruitment and training and $12,500,000 for each of fiscal years 2010 through 2014 for the Ready Reserve Corps.’

Guess who this unit reports to: Barack Hussein Obama, of course. The problem is, there is no Constitutional basis to this authority. States normally use the National Guard (state militia) to handle emergencies. This new law gives the president more power over the states.

Another lovely added feature is that it may provide power for Obama to force all Americans into vaccinations and other medical treatments using the words national emergency.

This is a fear that doctors who plan on leaving the profession due to the Obamacare mandates will be forced into service. Remember the force will respond on short notice to “routine public health and emergency response missions,” even involuntarily.

Just think…someday soon, you might be saying this to a young person you know, or, even, God forbid, your own son or daughter: “Where did you get that brown shirt from, kiddo?”
