Trump Delivers Awesome SOTU Address, Petulant Pelosi Tears Up Her Copy Afterwards

FoxNews.com reports that

President Trump went on the offensive against socialism and left-wing policies during his third State of the Union address to Congress Tuesday night, arguing that Democrats “want to take away your health care, take away your doctor, and abolish private insurance entirely,” while creating a “lure” for illegal immigration.

All but ignoring the historic impeachment drama that flanks this year’s address, Trump opted instead to publicly challenge Democrats on policy grounds while touting what he called the “blue-collar boom” in the country. The tensions over impeachment appeared to surface, however, as the president seemingly snubbed a handshake offer from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., while Republican lawmakers chanted, “Four more years!”

Then, at the speech’s conclusion, Pelosi dramatically ripped up her copy of Trump’s speech on-camera.

The night was full of other dramatic, made-for-TV moments: Trump introduced a warfighter back from deployment to his shocked wife (which was not included in prepared remarks of the speech delivered in advance to reporters); awarded radio host Rush Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom on the spot; issued an academic scholarship to a needy family; and introduced a surviving member of the Tuskegee Airmen.

“As we work to improve Americans’ healthcare, there are those who want to take away your health care, take away your doctor, and abolish private insurance entirely,” Trump said. “One hundred thirty-two lawmakers in this room have endorsed legislation to impose a socialist takeover of our healthcare system, wiping out the private health insurance plans of 180 million Americans. To those watching at home tonight, I want you to know: We will never let socialism destroy American health care.”

He added: “Over 130 legislators in this chamber have endorsed legislation that would bankrupt our Nation by providing free taxpayer-funded healthcare to millions of illegal aliens, forcing taxpayers to subsidize free care for anyone in the world who unlawfully crosses our borders. These proposals would raid the Medicare benefits our seniors depend on, while acting as a powerful lure for illegal immigration.

Pelosi appeared to mouth “not true” as Trump said Democrats would pay illegal immigrants’ health care — although virtually all Democratic presidential contenders indicated they would support such a measure during a recent debate.

“This is what is happening in California and other States — their systems are totally out of control, costing taxpayers vast and unaffordable amounts of money,” Trump continued. “If forcing American taxpayers to provide unlimited free healthcare to illegal aliens sounds fair to you, then stand with the radical left. But if you believe that we should defend American patients and American seniors, then stand with me and pass legislation to prohibit free Government healthcare for illegal aliens!”

The address comes one day before the Senate is slated to deliver its verdict in the impeachment trial that has divided the nation. Trump is widely expected to win acquittal. But he did not mention those proceedings directly in his speech.

Drawing some audible murmurs of disapproval from Democrats in the chamber, Trump repeatedly took aim at the Obama administration’s economic and foreign policies.

“If we had not reversed the failed economic policies of the previous administration, the world would not now be witness to America’s great economic success,” Trump said. “Under the last administration, more than 10 million people were added to the food stamp rolls. Under my administration, 7 million Americans have come off of food stamps, and 10 million people have been lifted off of welfare.”

As he did during the 2019 State of the Union, Trump again directly condemned socialism — and introduced a high-profile guest from embattled Venezuela.

“Joining us in the gallery is the true and legitimate President of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó,” Trump said. “Mr. President, please take this message back to your homeland. All Americans are united with the Venezuelan people in their righteous struggle for freedom! Socialism destroys nations. But always remember, freedom unifies the soul.”

Drawing more audible complaints from Democrats, Trump further hammered “sanctuary city” policies that shield illegal immigrants from federal immigration authorities.

“Tragically, there are many cities in America where radical politicians have chosen to provide sanctuary for these criminal illegal aliens,” Trump said. “In Sanctuary Cities, local officials order police to release dangerous criminal aliens to prey upon the public, instead of handing them over to ICE to be safely removed. Just 29 days ago, a criminal alien freed by the Sanctuary City of New York was charged with the brutal rape and murder of a 92-year-old woman. The killer had been previously arrested for assault, but under New York’s sanctuary policies, he was set free. If the city had honored ICE’s detainer request, his victim would be alive today. The State of California passed an outrageous law declaring their whole State to be a sanctuary for criminal illegal immigrants — with catastrophic results.”

“The state of our union is stronger than ever before,’ Trump declared early on to applause, as most Democrats — including those who have recently sought to have the president removed from office — remained seated, stone-faced and apparently dejected.

Indeed they were.

What Americans witnessed last night was the behavior of a bunch of political elitists who have placed self-aggrandizement and the love of a failed political philosophy (Marxism) above love of country and their duty as elected representatives in a Constitutional Republic.

The behavior of the Democrats was exemplified by the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi and her attitude toward President Trump.

She actually expected him to shake her cold clammy hand after she has spent the first three years of his administration trying to unseat him from office.

I would not have shook her hand, either.

The president went on to deliver a wonderful State of the Union Address which included several highlights, not the least of which was a surprised Rush Limbaugh being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest award that any civilian can receive.

In my humble opinion, it was well-deserved.

Over the last three years the Democrats’ have more than justified the opinion of them which is held by the average Americans between the coasts whom Hillary referred to as “Deplorables”.

Their behavior has reached a crescendo with their antics in the Senate Impeachment Trial, the Iowa Caucus, and now, the SOTU Address.

Average Americans will not forget their lies, nor will they forget the image of Nancy Pelosi, waiting until she was certain that the camera was on her and then tearing up her copy of the address.

Speaker Pelosi meant it as an act of defiance.

Americans will see it for what it was: a petulant act by a professional politician whose plans to overturn the will of the American people failed spectacularly, leaving her and her fellow Far Left Democrat Politicians in a hole from which they may never crawl out of.

Steyn on Limbaugh: “I Owe Him Everything.”

Rush-Limbaugh-2010

…Over the years, a lot of people have been very nice telling me how much this program has meant to them. But, whatever that is, it pales in comparison to what you all have meant to me. And I can’t describe this. But I know you’re there every day. I can see you. It’s strange how, but I know you’re there.

I know you’re there in great numbers, and I know that you understand everything I say. The rest of the world may not when they hear it expressed a different way, but I know that you do. You’ve been one of the greatest sources of confidence that I’ve had in my life. So, I hope I will be talking about this as little as necessary in the coming days.

But we’ve got a great bunch of doctors, a great team assembled. We’re at full-speed ahead on this, and it’s just now a matter of implementing what we are gonna be told later this week. So, I’ll be back here. I hope I’ll be back Thursday. If not, it will be as soon as I can — and know that every day I’m not here, I’ll be thinking about you and missing you. Thank you very much. – Rush Limbaugh, 2/3/2020

FoxNews.com reports that

Author and columnist Mark Steyn reacted Monday to Rush Limbaugh’s announcement that he has advanced-stage lung cancer and will be off his syndicated radio show until at least Thursday to visit with his physicians.

Steyn, who frequently guest-hosts the “Rush Limbaugh Show,” said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that he owes a debt of gratitude to the 69-year-old radio legend.

“Unlike many people at the top of this business, Tucker, he has no insecurities, no petty jealousies,” said Steyn, who will be filling in for Limbaugh most of this week. “He is secure and kind and generous. Everyone who has had anything to do with ‘The Rush Limbaugh Show’ will be rooting for him.

“He is the kindest. I owe him everything. In America, I owe Rush everything.”

Steyn said Monday’s show was a typical mix of honest conservative insight, humor and random pop culture references. He joked that Limbaugh sounded as at ease as he always does when he made an offhand joke about a song by Welsh singer Tom Jones.

“In the last ten minutes of the show, he told us some really devastating and tough news,” said Steyn, who added that the news was shocking coming from Limbaugh, who he described as an upbeat, kind man who has had a “rich life.”

Steyn added that Limbaugh, who has been broadcast nationwide since 1988, is remarkable in the way he has been able to keep his program at the top of the ratings for decades despite having nearly no guests. He recalled a visit to Australia where he had to tell then-Prime Minister John Howard that he had to fly back to the U.S. to guest-host Limbaugh’s show for the first time. Howard remarked to Steyn how large the radio legend’s following was.

“I said ‘Yes, about 25 to 30 million listeners’. [Howard] goes, ‘Rush has more listeners than we have Australians’.”

Earlier Monday, Sean Hannity credited Limbaugh with helping him build his prominence in the radio industry by allowing him to guest-host in the 1990s.

Since then, Limbaugh has welcomed a handful of commentators and regional AM radio hosts to helm the show while he is away, most recently including Steyn and Harrisburg, Pa. talk show host Ken Matthews.

I can remember when I first started listening to Rush Limbaugh.

It was in 1988 on WMC 790 AM in Memphis, Tennessee.

Having been a Radio News Director in the late 1970s on the student-run station at then-Memphis State University, the first time I listened to Rush, my mind was completely and utterly blown away.

Here was a guy who was also from the Mid-South, getting paid to interpret the news on radio and to interact with listeners.

Not only was this guy funny, his comments were informed and spot on.

He talked with reverence about “Ronaldus Maximus” (President Ronald Reagan) and later would drive both the Clintons and the Obamas absolutely crazy.

He spoke for those average Americans living between the coasts who would later be labeled by Democratic President Candidate Hillary Clinton as “Deplorables”.

He spoke about God and country, sports and entertainment, economics and foreign policy, interpreting all as only he could, with optimism and good humor that even when times were rough, the American people would see them through.

Over the years, he has taken a lot of heat from the Main Stream Media and their bosses in the Democratic Elite for his bombastic personality and his willingness to speak out against the Democrats’ poor stewardship of the land which he loves.

Rush Limbaugh was and is a fighter.

And now, he is in a fight for his very life.

So, if you would, any of you who, like myself, have been inspired by Rush Limbaugh, take a moment out of your hectic day to say a prayer for this good man who has helped not only to launch radio careers like the late Tony Snow, Sean Hannity, and Mark Steyn, but has quietly contributed a lot of time and money to charities, both on his show and in his private life.

Rush Limbaugh has spent a lifetime standing up for us.

It is time for us to return the favor.

Until He Comes,

Trump Calls Sanders a “Communist” While DNC Opens Possibility of Bloomberg in Next Debate

Screen-Shot-2020-02-02-at-4.13.39-PM

FoxNews.com reports that

In an exclusive interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity during the Super Bowl LIV pregame show, President Trump confirmed that the State of the Union address would go ahead as scheduled on Tuesday — just a day before the Senate is set to overwhelmingly acquit him after a months-long impeachment process.

“I think she’s a very confused, very nervous woman,” Trump said, referring to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif, who reluctantly announced impeachment proceedings last year after months of resisting the progressive wing of her party.

“I don’t think she wanted to do this,” Trump continued. “I think she really knew what was going to happen, and her worst nightmare has happened. I don’t think she’s gonna be there too long, either. I think that the radical left — and she’s sorta radical left too, by the way — but I think the radical left is gonna take over.”

The president cited the personal cost of the multiple investigations that have taken place during his administration, saying the media is deliberately ignoring historic economic numbers and “the good stuff” to focus on invented scandals.

“Well, it’s been very unfair. From the day I won … from the day I came down from the escalator. … it probably started from there. It’s been a very, very unfair process,” Trump said. “The Mueller Report, Russia, Russia, Russia, as you say, which was total nonsense — it was all nonsense, the whole thing. It was very unfair, and mostly it was unfair to my family. I mean, my family suffered because of all this. And many other families suffered also.”

But, Trump said, his supporters would remain undeterred.

“There’s a revolution going on in this country, and I mean a positive revolution,” Trump said, noting that unemployment rates have plummeted among minority groups.

The president also asserted that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) was “rigging the election again” against “crazy” Bernie Sanders and candidates such as Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., after the DNC announced it would change debate rules in a way that would help Mike Bloomberg appear on stage.

As Trump spoke, an NBC News report indicated that former Secretary of State John Kerry was overheard in Iowa discussing getting in the presidential race, as a last-ditch effort to blunt Sanders’ surge in the polls and prevent him from “taking down” the Democratic Party. (Kerry, firing off a since-deleted, highly uncharacteristic profanity on Twitter, then insisted he was not running for president, but didn’t deny the NBC News report.)

Asked what he felt about Bloomberg, Trump didn’t hold back.

“Uh, very little. I just think of little,” Trump said. “You know, now he wants a box for the debates to stand on. OK, it’s OK, there’s nothing wrong. You can be short. Why should he get a box to stand on, OK? He wants a box for the debates. Why should he be entitled to that? Really. Does that mean everyone else gets a box? … I would love to run against Bloomberg.”

Trump added that the U.S. has offered assistance to China amid the deadly coronavirus outbreak, and hinted that more aggressive action may be taken as the problem worsens.

“Well, we’ve pretty much shut it down, coming in from China. We have a tremendous relationship with China. … We’re offering ’em tremendous help,” Trump said. “But we can’t have thousands of people coming in who may have this problem, the coronavirus. So, we’re gonna see what happens.”

Separately, Hannity asked Trump to quickly describe what he thought of other prominent Democrats.

On Joe Biden: “I just think of ‘Sleepy.’ I just watch him. He’s sleepy. Sleepy Joe.”

On Hunter Biden: “Where’s Hunter? Where is he? He made millions of dollars — he went from having no job, no income, he had nothing. As you know, he had a very sad experience in the military. He has nothing, to making millions and millions of dollars a year. Not just from Ukraine. From China. And from other countries. How can you do this? This is crooked as hell. What they did is very dishonest.”

On Bernie Sanders: “Well, I think he’s a communist. I mean, you know, look, I think of communism when I think of Bernie. You could say ‘socialist.’ Didn’t he get married in Moscow?” (Hannity then interjected that Sanders had, in fact, honeymooned in the Soviet Union.)

“At least he’s true to what he believes,” Trump concluded, by way of contrast with Elizabeth Warren.

On Warren, Trump said: “She’s not true to it. I call her ‘fairy tale.’ Because everything’s a fairy tale. That’s how Pochahontas got started. This woman can’t tell the truth.”

On Hillary Clinton: “I think of emails. I think of the email scandal. How she got away with that is a disgrace.”

President Trump is spot on about ol’ Bernie.

Per discoverthenetworks.org,

Bernard “Bernie” Sanders was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 8, 1941, to Polish immigrants of Jewish descent. After attending Brooklyn College for one year, he transferred to the University of Chicago (UC) and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1964. At UC, Sanders joined the Young Peoples Socialist League (youth wing of the Socialist Party USA) as well as the Congress of Racial Equality and the Student Peace Union.

After college, Sanders lived briefly on an Israeli kibbutz, then moved to Vermont where he worked variously as a carpenter, filmmaker, writer, and researcher. In 1971 he joined the anti-war Liberty Union Party (LUP), on whose ticket he made unsuccessful runs for the U.S. Senate in 1972 and 1974, and for Governor of Vermont in 1976. Sanders’s LUP platform called for the nationalization of all U.S. banks, public ownership of all utiliies, and the establishment of a worker-controlled federal government.

Sanders resigned from LUP in 1979 and became a political Independent. Two years later he was elected mayor of Burlington, Vermont, a post he held until 1989. Sanders created some controversy when he hung a Soviet flag in his mayoral office, in honor of Burlington’s Soviet sister city Yaroslav.

According to an Accuracy In Media report, Sanders during the 1980s “collaborated with Soviet and East German ‘peace committees'” whose aim was “to stop President Reagan’s deployment of nuclear missiles in Europe.” Indeed, he “openly joined the Soviets’ ‘nuclear freeze’ campaign to undercut Reagan’s military build-up.”

In 1985 Sanders traveled to Managua, Nicaragua to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the rise to power of Daniel Ortega and his Marxist-Leninist Sandinista government.

In 1986 Sanders ran unsuccessfully for Governor of Vermont, and two years later he made a failed bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In November 1989 Sanders addressed the national conference of the U.S. Peace Council, a Communist Party USA front. The event focused on how to “end the Cold War” and “fund human needs.” Fellow speakers included such notables as Leslie Cagan, John Conyers, and Manning Marable.

Choosing not to seek re-election to a fifth term as mayor, Sanders spent 1989-90 working as a lecturer at Hamilton College in upstate New York and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

By 1990 Sanders was a leading member of Jesse Jackson’s National Rainbow Coalition, and he ran successfully for Congress as a socialist, representing Vermont’s single at-large congressional district. The following year, Sanders founded the Congressional Progressive Caucus along with fellow House members Tom Andrews, Peter DeFazio, Ron Dellums, Lane Evans, and Maxine Waters.

During the 1990s, Sanders participated multiple times in the Socialist Scholars Conferences that were held annually in New York City.

…Sanders has long maintained that “global warming/climate change” not only threatens “the fate of the entire planet,” but is caused chiefly by human industrial activity and must be curbed by means of legislation strictly limiting carbon emissions. In 2007 Sanders and Senator Barbara Boxer proposed the Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act, which, according to an MIT study, would have imposed on U.S. taxpayers a yearly financial burden of more than $4,500 per family, purportedly to check climate change. In February 2010 Sanders likened climate-change skeptics to people who had disregarded the Nazi threat prior to WWII: “During that period of Nazism and fascism’s growth … there were people in this country and in the British parliament who said, ‘Don’t worry! Hitler’s not real! It’ll disappear!’” Accusing “big business” of being “willing to destroy the planet for short-term profits,” Sanders in 2013 said that “global warming is a far more serious problem than al Qaeda.” Stating unequivocally that “the scientific community is unanimous” in its belief that “the planet is warming up,” Sanders the following year declared that the “debate is over” and emphasized the importance of “transform[ing] our energy systems away from fossil fuels.”

In September 2011, Sanders was the first U.S. Senator to support the anti-capitalist Occupy Wall Street movement, lauding its activists for focusing a “spotlight” on the need for “real Wall Street reform.”

In March 2013, Sanders and fellow Senator Tom Harkin together introduced a bill to tax Wall Street speculators. “Both the economic crisis and the deficit crisis are a direct result of the greed, recklessness, and illegal behavior on Wall Street,” said Sanders.

Over the years, Sanders’s political campaigns have received strong support from such organizations as the AFL-CIO, the American Association for Justice, the Backbone Campaign, the Council for a Livable World, the Democratic Socialists of America, and Peace Action.

In other words, he’s a Far Left, Marxist Whackjob.

Thee interesting thing is that it appears that the DNC is about to screw over Bernie again, as they did in the 2016 Campaign with their efforts on behalf of Hillary Clinton.

FoxNews.com reports that

The Democratic National Committee on Friday unveiled new criteria for candidates to qualify for the Feb. 19 presidential nomination debate — including a big change likely to pave the way for former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg to make the stage for the first time.

All of the debates in the first eight rounds — including the upcoming Feb. 7 debate in New Hampshire — have included both polling and individual donor thresholds for the candidates to reach to qualify for the primetime showdowns.

But starting with the Nevada debate, which will be held in Las Vegas three days before the state’s caucuses, the DNC is dropping the individual contributor requirements. That could allow Bloomberg to finally qualify. The multi-billionaire business and media mogul, who declared his candidacy just two months ago, has avoided fundraising and seeking out individual donors as he self-funds his White House bid.

Considering the fact that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has been dealt a gigantic defeat by allowing the Far Left House members to dictate the party’s political strategy by rushing ahead with the baseless Impeachment of a popular successful President, who is about to be acquitted, the party may be looking to move back toward the “Left Center” by pushing Former New York Mayor “Mini Mike” Bloomberg for its President Candidate Nomination.

The problem is that Bloomberg is simply another Marxist in Capitalist clothing.

Mini Mike is in favor of a Nanny State Government, also.

French sociologist and political theorist Alexis de Tocqueville (1805-1859) traveled to the America in 1831 to study our prisons and returned to France with a wealth of broader observations that he compiled together in “Democracy in America” (1835), one of the most influential books of the 19th century. With its spot-on observations on equality and individualism, Tocqueville’s work remains a valuable explanation of America to Europeans and of Americans to ourselves.

He once observed that

Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.

In other words, the failed political ideology of socialism takes away the exhilaration and fulfillment of individual achievement and replaces it with self-sacrifice in servitude to the State, for the good of the Central  Nanny-State Government, which, in turn, promises to “share the wealth”, but, as was the case in the old Soviet Union, and more recently, Venezuela, never does.

The great Sir Winston Churchill once said that

The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

I would rather be blessed than miserable.

How about you?

Pelosi and Dem Elite Blast Trump for Expanding Travel Ban to 6 More Countries…Why Don’t They Want to Keep America Safe?

untitled (298)

“Whenever the president finds that the entry of any aliens or any class of aliens into the U.S. would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants, non-immigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions that he may deem to be appropriate,”- 8 U.S. Code § 1182

FoxNews.com reports that

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was one of a number of top Democrats to rip into President Trump’s decision to expand the travel ban to include six more countries on Friday — with Pelosi describing it as “discrimination disguised as policy.”

“The Trump administration’s expansion of its outrageous, un-American travel ban threatens our security, our values and the rule of law,” she said in a statement. “The sweeping rule, barring more than 350 million individuals from predominantly African nations from traveling to the United States, is discrimination disguised as policy.”

The Trump administration is expanding restrictions to include Burma, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Tanzania and Sudan. Those are added to the current seven countries already included in the ban: Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen.

The initial ban was branded by critics as a “Muslim ban,” noting that President Trump had promised such a ban during his campaign and that the initial countries (which did not include North Korea and Venezuela, but did include Chad) were Muslim-majority countries.

But after multiple court challenges, the Supreme Court upheld its constitutionality in 2018.

For Burma, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan and Nigeria, the restrictions will apply to immigrant visas — for those seeking to live or work in the U.S. permanently. For Sudan and Tanzania, the restrictions are being placed on diversity visas — that come from the controversial diversity lottery program that grants visas to prospective immigrants randomly each year.

The initial seven countries have restrictions on both immigrant and non-immigrant visas, but Acting Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Chad Wolf told reporters that the six countries announced Friday are very different from the current seven, which is why the restrictions are lighter.

“These countries, for the most part, want to be helpful, want to do the right thing, have relationships with the U.S. and are in some cases improving relations, but for a variety of different reasons failed to meet those minimum requirements that we laid out,” he said.

Criteria considered when judging countries included to what extent the countries share information on passports and prospective bad actors, as well as whether or not the country poses an elevated national security risk in relation to crime, terrorism and illegal immigration.

But the more nuanced approach did not appear to soften Democratic complaints about the move.

“With this latest callous decision, the President has doubled down on his cruelty and further undermined our global leadership, our Constitution and our proud heritage as a nation of immigrants,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi pledged that Democrats will oppose the ban in the courts and in Congress. She said that the House Judiciary Committee will mark up and send the “NO BAN Act” to the House floor. That legislation prohibits religious discrimination in immigration-related decisions. It also imposes restrictions on the president’s authority to restrict immigration — forcing the administration to provide evidence of such a need to Congress for that restriction.

Ever since Pelosi regained the gavel of Speaker of the House after the 2018 Midterm Elections, she has viewed herself as a “co-president”, much like Hillary Clinton was billed as during Bubba’s presidency.

Thing is,,,she isn’t.

The President is the Commander-in-Chief, the Chief Executive whose job it is to protect the safety of our Sovereign Nation and the lives of American Citizens.

Nancy Pelosi, as Speaker of the House of Representatives is the chosen, privately elected, leader of one part of the Legislative Branch of our government.

And while it is her job to help create legislation  which passes through the House to the Senate to be voted on, she does not have the last word on what becomes the “Law of the Land”.

The President stills holds Veto Power over any legislation which arrives on his desk from Congress.

Now, let’s talk about the “religion” part of her argument for a moment.

On February 5th, 2015 after then-President Barack Hussein Obama’s incendiary and decidedly anti-Christian remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast, Reverend Franklin Graham spoke truth to power:

Today at the National Prayer Breakfast, the President implied that what ISIS is doing is equivalent to what happened over 1000 years ago during the Crusades and the Inquisition. Mr. President–Many people in history have used the name of Jesus Christ to accomplish evil things for their own desires. But Jesus taught peace, love and forgiveness. He came to give His life for the sins of mankind, not to take life. Mohammad on the contrary was a warrior and killed many innocent people. True followers of Christ emulate Christ—true followers of Mohammed emulate Mohammed.

As Rev. Graham said so eloquently, Islam and Christianity present two very different Deities, who may share some similarities, but who have different identities and ultimately different standards. To pretend they are the same is not only to be clueless of the faith of 76% of the citizens of this nation, but, to be ignorant of an integral part of our American Heritage, the legacy of Christian Faith, which our Founding Fathers bequeathed us.

During the Republican Presidential Primary, Republican Presidential Candidate Hopeful, Dr. Ben Carson, got a lot of attention from hang-wringing Liberals in the Main Stream Media, the Democratic Party, and among the Vichy Republicans, also, when he said that a Muslim should never be President of the United States of America., because Sharia Law is incompatible with The United States Constitution.

He was absolutely right.

I am not saying that every Muslim is on a jihad against “the infidels”, and, wish to invade our Sovereign Nation and over-throw our Government.

However, there is a difference between being an average Christian American and a Muslim, living in America.

In Islam, the way to “walk with God and escape his judgment on that final day of judgment” is through ‘falah’, which means self-effort or positive achievement. The faithful must submit to God and follow all of his laws as found in the Koran. Judgment day in Islam involves some sort of measurement of what the believer has done wrong and what they have done right. And, even then, you might not be let into heaven if Allah decides you’re not good enough.

This is the direct opposite of Christianity.

According to the Bible, no man can ever be good enough to deserve God’s favor, to win God’s heaven, because from birth we have Free Will. This Free Will may cause us to reject God and live our lives our own way. That’s why it was necessary for Jesus Christ to die for our sins, covering us in His blood of the New Covenant.

God’s Word tells us that what we need is not ‘falah,’ but faith. To have faith in, to trust, to rely on Jesus and his death as as “the expiation for our sins”. Those who have been Saved by Jesus Christ can be sure that in the future God will welcome them into heaven with wide open arms, because they have been washed by His blood.

Islam and Christianity present two very different Deities, who may share some similarities, but who have different identities and ultimately different standards. To pretend they are the same is not only to be clueless of the faith of 76% of the citizens of this nation, but, to be ignorant of an integral part of our American Heritage, the legacy of Christian Faith, which our Founding Fathers bequeathed us.

Now, I am not saying that every Muslim is on a jihad against “the infidels”.

However…

When Christians become “radicalized”, we want to share the testimony of what God has done for us through His love, with everyone we meet. We get involved in our local church and we become better fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, and American Citizens.

When Muslims become “radicalized”, they want to “kill the Infidels” in the name of “Allah the Merciful”.

In the case of the Chechen Muslim brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon, their immersion into Radical Islam led them to “kill the infidels” that horrendous day.

In the case of the Radical Islamist Couple in San Bernadino, it let them to murder their neighbors and co-workers.

In the case of the barbarians of ISIS, it has turned them into doppelgangers of the Nazi Butchers of Dachau.

While we are told as Christians to “entertain strangers”, we are also told to

be wise as serpents and innocent as doves – Matthew 10:16

You can’t “be wise” if you lose your head.

And, that is what President Trump is trying to prevent.

“The Art of the Deal”: Closing Arguments Monday, SOTU Tuesday, Acquittal Wednesday

09-wasting-days-dt-600

“One of the problems when you become successful is that jealousy and envy inevitably follow. There are people—I categorize them as life’s losers—who get their sense of accomplishment and achievement from trying to stop others. As far as I’m concerned, if they had any real ability they wouldn’t be fighting me, they’d be doing something constructive themselves.” – Donald J. Trump, “The Art of the Deal”

FoxNews.com reports that

Republicans in the Senate secured enough votes Friday evening to reject Democratic efforts to extend the impeachment trial of President Trump and call new witnesses, paving the way for his widely expected acquittal next week on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress over his dealings with Ukraine.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said late Friday he expects to “conclude the trial in the coming days” as the Senate approved the framework to continue the trial on Monday, with a final up-or-down vote on Wednesday.

After hours of debate during the day on Friday, the Senate voted 51-49 to block a Democratic motion to call new witnesses. The vote came after vehement demands from Democrats to call former national security adviser John Bolton to testify about the Trump-Ukraine saga. Two Republicans — Utah Sen. Mitt Romney and Maine Sen. Susan Collins — voted with Democrats.

“A majority of the U.S. Senate has determined that the numerous witnesses and 28,000-plus pages of documents already in evidence are sufficient to judge the House Managers’ accusations and end this impeachment trial,” McConnell said after the vote.

Democrats decried the failure of the motion.

“America will remember this day, unfortunately, where the Senate did not live up to its responsibilities, where the Senate turned away from truth and went along with a sham trial,” said Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

Later on Friday evening, Senate Republicans voted down four amendments offered by Democrats to call Bolton and White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, among others. Chief Justice Roberts told Schumer before that vote series that he would not break ties in the Senate, after Democrats in recent days raised the possibility Roberts could possibly tip the scales for them during votes on amendments.

“I think it would be inappropriate for me, an unelected official from a different branch of government, to assert the power to change that result so that the motion would succeed,” Roberts told Schumer.

The vote on witnesses came as Trump was flying to Florida. A senior administration official aboard Air Force One said that the reaction to the Senate vote was “calm, but pleased.”

“Nothing like applause or cheering, but just a recognition that things are clearly going in the right direction,” the official said.

There will be no trial action over the weekend. The trial will resume Monday with closing arguments by the impeachment managers and defense counsel. Senators will have the opportunity to make speeches on Monday and Tuesday.

The final vote will come the same week as Iowa’s caucuses on Monday and the State of the Union address on Tuesday. A senior congressional source told Fox News that there has been no discussion about postponing the speech, as advance teams have been crawling all over the Capitol in preparation for Tuesday’s address.

Earlier Friday, it became apparent that Republicans had the votes to shut down any new witnesses from testifying in the trial, with Sens. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., and Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, announcing they wouldn’t defect.

After the vote on witnesses, Trump drew attention to the number of witnesses during the House’s impeachment proceedings: “Democrats = 17 Witnesses. Republicans = 0 Witnesses.”

It came out late on Friday night that Senate Leader Mitch McConnell had talked to President Trump, who had given his okay to the timing of the final vote.

And, I can understand why he did: it’s perfect.

During the Closing Arguments on Monday, I have no doubt that Jay Sekulow and the Trump Defense Team will perform as flawlessly as they already have.

They have embarrassed the House Managers time and time again, making them look like a bunch of political hacks obsessed with removing a duly-elected President from office.

Which, of course, is exactly what they are.

After that drubbing on Monday, President Trump will address a Joint Session of Congress and deliver what promises to be a barnburner of a State of the Union Address.

One of my fellow writers at SpartaReport.com suggested that advertisers forget about the Super Bowl and buy time in the State of the Union instead.

It is going to be that good.

Who, in their right mind, can seriously argue against the accomplishments of President Donald J. Trump?

As one of his Presidential Reelection Campaign slogans says,

Promises Made. Promises Kept.

And, within that resides the very reason for the ongoing coup attempt by the Democrats to remove him from office.

Whoever they choose as their Presidential Candidate does not stand a chance of defeating President Trump this November…and they know it.

But, I digress…

After what is going to be the most matched State of the Union Address in history, the Impeachment Vote will happen at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.

And, President Donald J. Trump will be acquitted.

In fact, I would not be surprised at all if some of the Democrats cross over to vote for his acquittal.

Especially, if they live in a Red State and they want to be reelected to the Senate.

In 1999, Biden Argued Against Additional Witnesses in the Senate Impeachment Trial of Clinton…and Schumer Agreed!

Joe-Biden-Chicago-ap-img

“Sleepy Joe” just torpedoed the Democrats’ Sham Impeachment!

Politico.com reports that

In January 1999, then-Sen. Joe Biden argued strongly against the need to depose additional witnesses or seek new evidence in a memo sent to fellow Democrats ahead of President Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial.

Biden circulated the four-page document, titled “Arguments in Support of a Summary Impeachment Trial,” on Jan. 5, 1999. In his memo, obtained by POLITICO, Biden cited historical precedents from impeachment cases going back to the establishment of the Senate and asserted “The Senate need not hold a ‘full-blown’ trial.

“The Senate may dismiss articles of impeachment without holding a full trial or taking new evidence. Put another way, the Constitution does not impose on the Senate the duty to hold a trial,” Biden wrote at the time.

The Delaware Democrat added later: “In a number of previous impeachment trials, the Senate has reached the judgment that its constitutional role as a sole trier of impeachments does not require it to take new evidence or hear live witness testimony.”

Along with his son Hunter, Biden has become a primary target for Republicans in President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial. Biden is also a frontrunner in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary.

Biden’s comments from 1999 are at odds with current Democratic talking points that additional witnesses must be called to get to the bottom of Trump’s actions in the Ukraine saga. Republicans, of course, now oppose witnesses in Trump’s trial and argued strongly for them in Clinton’s.

In 1999, Biden also said senators should take into account the impact drawing out the impeachment proceedings would have on the country.

“In light of the extensive record already compiled, it may be that the benefit of receiving additional evidence or live testimony is not great enough to outweigh the public costs (in terms of national prestige, faith in public institutions, etc.) of such a proceeding,” Biden said. “While a judge may not take such considerations into account, the Senate is uniquely competent to make such a balance.”

Biden and other Clinton allies — including now-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) — lost the witness fight during that 1999 trial. The Senate agreed to depose former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, whose affair with Clinton led to just the second presidential impeachment in history, as well as two other witnesses.

Despite those interviews, Clinton was acquitted by the Senate in February 1999. Clinton’s administration cooperated more with the special counsel, leading to a more voluminous record of evidence in his trial. The Trump White House has refused to make officials available for interviews or key documents to House investigators.

The Biden campaign declined to comment.

As I write today’s post, I have been thinking about what the unbridled arrogance-fueled anger of the Democrat Elite has put this country through over the last three years.

From the very night that average Americans between the coasts elected Citizen Statesman Donald J. Trump to be our 45th President of the United States of America, they have been determined to overturn our vote and to somehow remove a Constitutionally-elected president from office.

This morning, God willing, their latest attempt at a coup, and make no mistake, boys and girls, that is exactly what it is. will end with the acquittal of President Trump.

The thing about it is, their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

The Democrats who have divided the nation for the last three years will continue their Quixotic Quest to remove Donald J. Trump on up to the day before the 2020 Presidential Election.

Don’t believe me? Check out this tweet from Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi…

The news about Biden’s 1999 document came out last night.

San Fran Nan’s tweet posted earlier in the day.

I wonder what she thought about that?

I’ll bet her dentures dropped into her gin and tonic.

My point is that the last three years have made it imperative to our future as Constitutional Republic to not only reelect President Trump but also to vote the Democrats out of power in the House of Repr3esentives.

That will be the only way that we will be able to move forward as a Sovereign Nation.

Otherwise, Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, The Squad, et al, will continue to not only try to remove a  duly-elected president but to govern AGAINST the will of the people whom they have been elected to serve.

And, that would eventually lead to American becoming another “Socialist Paradise”…like Venezuela.

Damaging Videos of Bolton and Schiff Emerge as the Democrats’ “Sham Impeachment” Trial Continues

FoxNews.com reports that

A string of newly resurfaced video clips of former national security adviser John Bolton spurred President Trump and his supporters Wednesday to highlight what they described as serious credibility questions — raised by both Democrats and Republicans — amid the Senate impeachment trial, as the president tweeted, “GAME OVER!”

Trump linked to an interview of Bolton in August 2019 concerning Ukraine policy. In the Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty interview clip, Bolton made no mention of any illicit quid pro quo, and acknowledged, as Republicans have claimed, that combating “corruption” in Ukraine was a “high priority” for the Trump administration.

Bolton also called Trump’s communications with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “warm and cordial,” without mentioning any misconduct. It seemingly contradicted reported assertions in Bolton’s forthcoming book that Trump explicitly told him he wanted to tie military aid to Ukraine to an investigation of Joe Biden. (Zelensky has said his communications with Trump involved no pressure for any investigation.)

Separately, Fox News has identified clips of Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., now the lead House impeachment manager, in which he says Bolton had a distinct “lack of credibility” and was prone to “conspiracy theories.” This week, Schiff said Bolton needed to testify in the trial as an important and believable witness.

“This is someone who’s likely to exaggerate the dangerous impulses of the president toward belligerence, his proclivity to act without thinking, and his love of conspiracy theories,” Schiff told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on March 22, 2018, when Trump named Bolton national security adviser.

“And I’ll, you know, just add one data point to what you were talking about earlier, John Bolton once suggested on Fox News that the Russian hack of the DNC [Democratic National Committee] was a false flag operation that had been conducted by the Obama administration,” he said. “So, you add that kind of thinking to [former U.S. attorney] Joe diGenova and you have another big dose of unreality in the White House.”

Schiff made similar arguments back in May 2005, saying in an interview with CNN’s “Crossfire” that Bolton was “more focused on the next job than doing well at the last job” when he was up for nomination as ambassador to the United Nations under then-President George W. Bush.

“And particularly given the history, where we’ve had the politicizing of intelligence over WMD [weapons of mass destruction], why we would pick someone who the very same issue has been raised repeatedly, and that is John Bolton’s politicization of the intelligence he got on Cuba and other issues, why we would want someone with that lack of credibility, I can’t understand,” Schiff had said.

Then-Sen. Barack Obama, in 2005, echoed those arguments, calling Bolton “damaged goods” whose appointment as ambassador means “we will have less credibility and ironically be less equipped to reform the United Nations in the way that it needs to be reformed.”

Obama separately had said that Bolton “bullies, marginalizes and undermines those who do not agree with him.” Other prominent Democrats agreed at the time.

Bolton himself had admitted in the past that he would be more than willing to lie if he felt it was in the nation’s interest.

“If I had to say something I knew was false to protect American national security, I would do it,” Bolton said in an interview with Fox Business in 2010.

But, speaking to CNN on Monday, Schiff took a different approach — calling Bolton essential to the “search for truth.”

“I think for the senators, and I’m just not talking about the four that have been so much the focus of attention, for every senator, Democrat and Republican, I don’t know how you can explain that you wanted a search for the truth in this trial and say you don’t want to hear from a witness who had a direct conversation about the central allegation in the articles of impeachment,” Schiff said on CNN’s “New Day.”

Seemingly responding to charges of hypocrisy, Schiff remarked on the Senate floor late Wednesday, “I’m no fan of John Bolton, but I like him a little more now than I used to.”

Nevertheless, Democrats’ sudden about-face has been drawing some light mockery from even left-of-center commentators.

“Democrats are currently begging Mitt Romney to agree with them that John Bolton should swoop to the impeachment trial and save the day, but remember: you’re a despicable Trump-loving apologist if you said ahead of time that this entire thing would be a joke,” mused journalist Michael Tracey.

Well, now.

That’s something that we can all agree on.

This Sham Impeachment is a joke…and a bad one at that.

Even the House Democrats know that they started a joke, and unlike the song by the Bee Gees, it did not start the whole world laughing.

In fact, boys and girls, out here in the America between the coasts, which we like to call “Realityville”, the Democrats’ bad joke has made a lot of average Americans hotter than a 4th of July firecracker.

The Democrats listened to a bunch of loud, obnoxious radicals within their own political party and allowed their oversized egos, their continued anguish over losing the 2016 Presidential Election, and their obsessive hatred of President Donald J. Trump to convince themselves that they could actually impeach a sitting president by presenting articles which did not meet Constitutional Requirements.

And now, after a rigged partisan round of secret meetings in the Capitol Building Basement, which they called an “Impeachment Inquiry” without even taking a required vote, and not allowing any meaningful participation by the Republicans, the House Managers want the Senate Republicans to allow them to call witnesses which they decided that they didn’t need.

That is not the way that the Founding Fathers meant for an Impeachment to be adjudicated.

They meant for a bi-partisan House to deliberate and come up with articles which meet the Constitutional Requirements then present them to the Senate in a timely manner where both sides would present their case with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court “presiding” to make sure that decorum is followed.

Then, the Senate would ask questions of both sides and later hold a vote to dismiss, acquit, or to impeach the president.

What we have been witnessing is a political coup being staged in front of the whole world with a bunch of professional political zealots attempting to take away the right to vote for the Presidential Candidate of their choice from the American people.

Yesterday, Harvard Professor Emeritus and Former Dean of Harvard Law School Alan Dershowitz, speaking for President Trump’s Defense team, told those assembled, including the House Managers, that

“The House of Representatives is not above the law.

I most certainly hope so.

Because our Sovereign Nation will not survive if they are allowed to continue to act as if they are.

I pray that the punchline to the Democrats’ bad joke is the acquittal of President Donald J. Trump.

A Tale of Two Cities: Wildwood and Washington…The Difference Between Optimism and Obsession

7PMTRUMPWILDWOODRALLYINTERIORBRYANCAM_8066345-1

FoxNews.com reports that

President Trump headlined a jam-packed rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, on Tuesday night, hours after his attorneys wrapped up their opening arguments in his Senate impeachment trial — and minutes after sources told Fox News that Republicans don’t have the votes yet to block additional witnesses who could extend the proceedings.

An elevated level of enthusiasm was evident in the larger-than-normal crowd sizes inside and outside the Wildwoods Convention Center, and Fox News spoke to several attendees who had been waiting more than 24 hours to ensure they would be seated.

“While we are creating jobs and killing terrorists, the congressional Democrats are obsessed with demented hoaxes, crazy witch hunts, and deranged partisan crusades,” Trump said. “We will make sure they face another crushing defeat in the next election.”

…”We have tens of thousands of people outside,” Trump said to chants of “Four more years!” and other cheers. “If anyone would like to give them your place, please let us know.”

The president then touted the “blue-collar boom” in the economy — including historically low unemployment, rising wages especially among low-income workers, and soaring markets.

“Earnings for the bottom 10 percent are rising faster than earnings for the top 10 percent, for the first time ever,” Trump said. “Since my election, the net worth for the bottom half of wage-earners has increased by 47 percent, three times faster than the increase for the top one-percent. Median household income is at an all-time high; for President Bush, in eight years it was $450. Under President Barack Hussein Obama, for eight years, it was $975. … Under your favorite president, and when you include the tax cuts, the regulation cuts … under President Trump, for three years, the number is almost $10,000 — and it’s going up. That’s a big difference.”

Trump added: “The United States is now the number-one producer of oil and natural gas anywhere in the world. We don’t need anybody else’s energy anymore. It’s so nice.”

Democrats, by contrast, would “demolish” the U.S. economy, Trump said, noting that their health care plans — including proposals to pay for the health care of illegal immigrants — simply were too expensive and inefficient.

“We are saving your health care while the Democrats are trying to take away your health care, take away your doctors,” Trump said.

Touting his administration’s recent victory in a key Supreme Court case on the so-called “public charge rule,” Trump remarked, “We will now finally be able to enforce federal law and ensure that those seeking admission to our country are able to support themselves financially and not abuse taxpayer-funded programs.”

He continued, “On no issue have Washington Democrats more thoroughly betrayed the American people than the issue of immigration.”

Trump also hit Democrats for largely opposing restrictions on even late-term abortion, saying, “every child is a sacred gift from God.” Trump recently became the first president to speak at the pro-life March for Life rally in Washington.

“I got it done, and I mean I solely got it done,” Trump said to applause later, referring to the passage of his landmark criminal justice reform bill. “You have to thank yourself, because nobody else is going to do it.”

…Meanwhile, in Washington, Trump’s legal team wrapped up its defense earlier in the day, setting up a 16-hour question period on Wednesday. Although Trump’s acquittal by the Republican-controlled Senate is all but assured, his team has tried to minimize the political damage.

And, the president apparently was hoping to use impeachment to motivate his political base and independents disenchanted with impeachment to turn out in greater numbers this fall.

Jay Sekulow, one of his lawyers, used his time before the Senate to offer a list of attacks against Trump’s perceived foes — from ousted FBI agents to secret federal courts — and to highlight what he saw as politically driven maneuvering by the Democrats to oust the president.

“Danger, danger, danger,” he told senators. “That’s politics. You’re being called upon to remove the duly elected president of the United States. That’s what these articles of impeachment call for.”

White House counsel Pat Cipollone, also part of the defense, added: “What they are asking you do is to throw out a successful president on the eve of an election, with no basis, and in violation of the Constitution.”

“Why not trust the American people with this decision? Why tear up their ballots?” Cipollone continued. “The election is only months way. The American people are entitled to choose their president.”

Last night, American Citizens living in Wildwood, New Jersey heard from a man who genuinely LOVES America and her people, instead of viewing us all as racist, misogynist, xenophobes…the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.

Just like Trump did, with his refusal early in his campaign to “act more presidential”, he is still taking his message directly to the American People.

You see, Gentle Readers, Trump has always been a “people person”.

That is the reason that, when he was still a contributor to Fox News, he would speak to everyone in the building, from the maintenance crew, on up the ladder.

As Sam Walton, the Founder of Walmart, knew, you don’t inspire people by acting imperious and above it all.

“Mr. Sam”, until his health would no longer allow him to do so, would travel to Walmart Stores in his old pickup truck, with a tie and a baseball cap on, visiting the employees, in order to find out how his stores were doing.

He knew that the only way to be successful and to stay in touch with the public, was to be out among them, and speak to them honestly and directly, as one would speak to a friend.

Just as President Trump did when he went on a “Thank You” Tour and as he continues with his Daily Tweets to the American People..

The Political Establishment, of both parties, lost that concept, a long time ago.

Bypassing the borders to communication, historically determined by both political parties and the Main Stream Media, is a concept which I first witnessed being used by a Presidential Candidate in the 1980 Presidential Election, the before-mentioned Ronald Wilson Reagan.

While I am not comparing the two, I am noting that this strategy has proved effective for both men.

As his poll numbers show, Trump continues to strike a resonant chord in the hearts of Average Americans, living in the part of America, which the snobbish Political Elites refer to as “Flyover Country”, but which we refer to as “America’s Heartland”, or, quite simply, “HOME”.

The reason being, President Trump is keeping his promises.

He does not talk down to us while disparaging our Sovereign Nation, as his predecessor did.

Trump talks to us in a plain-spoken, clearly understood way, a style which is in stark contrast to an opposition party full of professional politicians, whose only interest is the regaining of power in Washington, D.C., at whatever the cost.

Last night, the President of the United States of America, the most powerful man in the world, made the citizens of New Jersey, along with the rest of us average Americans, feel good about ourselves and the future of our Sovereign Nation by listing the things he has been able to accomplish for our Sovereign Nation while being attacked by the opposition party worse than any president before him.

This, gentle readers, is an American President who genuinely loves this country and her people and who was willing to give up his “lifestyle of the rich and famous” in order to secure a safe and prosperous future for American Citizens

This man is indeed a “radical change”.

And, that is why the professional politicians within the Far Left Democratic Party are obsessed with removing him from office.

He interfered with their plans to change America into something which she was never meant to be: a Marxist Nation.

President Trump must be acquitted and the Democrats must be soundly defeated in 2020.

America’s future is at stake…now more than ever.

Dershowitz Tells House Managers and Senate No “Constitutional Justification” for Impeachment of Trump

Alan-Dershowitz-1200x800

“Congresswoman Maxine Waters recently put it more succinctly in the context of a presidential impeachment. Here’s what she said: ‘Impeachment is whatever Congress says it is. There is no law. But this lawless view would place Congress above the law. It would place Congress above the Constitution. For Congress to ignore the specific words of the Constitution itself and substitutes its own judgments would be for Congress to do what it’s accusing the president of doing.” – Professor Alan Dershowitz, 1/27/2020

FoxNews.com reports that

Harvard Law School Professor Alan Dershowitz, delivering a spirited constitutional defense of President Trump at his Senate impeachment trial Monday night, flatly turned toward House impeachment managers and declared they had picked “dangerous” and “wrong” charges against the president — noting that neither “abuse of power” nor “obstruction of justice” was remotely close to an impeachable offense as the framers had intended.

In a dramatic primetime moment, the liberal constitutional law scholar reiterated that although he voted for Hillary Clinton, he could not find constitutional justification for the impeachment of a president for non-criminal conduct, or conduct that was not at least “akin” to defined criminal conduct.

“I’m sorry, House managers, you just picked the wrong criteria. You picked the most dangerous possible criteria to serve as a precedent for how we supervise and oversee future presidents,” Dershowitz told the House Democrats, including head House impeachment manager Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

He said that “all future presidents who serve with opposing legislative majorities” now face the “realistic threat” of enduring “vague charges of abuse or obstruction,” and added that a “long list” of presidents have previously been accused of “abuse of power” in various contexts without being formally impeached.

The list included George Washington, who refused to turn over documents related to the Jay Treaty; John Adams, who signed and enforced the so-called “Alien and Sedition Acts”; Thomas Jefferson, who flat-out purchased Louisiana without any kind of congressional authorization whatosever; John Tyler, who notoriously used and abused the veto power; James Polk, who allegedly disregarded the Constitution and usurped the role of Congress; and Abraham Lincoln, who suspended habeas corpus during the Civil War. Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and others would also probably face impeachment using the Democrats’ rules, Dershowitz said.

“Abuse of power,” he argued, has been a “promiscuously deployed” and “vague” term throughout history. It should remain a merely “political weapon” fit for “campaign rhetoric,” Dershowitz said, as it has no standard definition nor meaningful constitutional relevance.

Dershowitz then said he was “nonpartisan” in his application of the Constitution, and would make the same arguments against such an “unconstitutional impeachment” if Hillary Clinton were on trial — passing what he called the “shoe on the other foot” test.

“Purely non-criminal conduct such as abuse of power and obstruction of Congress are outside the range of impeachable offenses,” Dershowitz said.

He quoted Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Robbins Curtis — one of the two dissenters in the notorious 1857 “Dred Scott v. Sandford” decision and counsel for President Andrew Johnson during his impeachment trial in 1868 — as saying there can be no impeachable offense “without a law, written or unwritten, express or implied.”

Johnson, Dershowitz observed, was impeached for violating the Tenure of Office Act — a statute essentially designed to create the pretext to impeach Johnson. By passing the law first, lawmakers expressly recognized that criminal-like conduct was needed for impeachment, Dershowitz argued.

Indeed, a “close review of the history” near in time to the founding of the United States, Dershowitz said, revealed that the founders explicitly wanted to avoid making impeachment so arbitrary and powerful that it effectively created a “British-style parliamentary democracy,” in which presidents served at the pleasure of the legislature.

Dershowitz further suggested that the “rule of lenity,” or the legal doctrine that ambiguities should be resolved in favor of defendants, also counseled toward acquitting the president. The Constitution permits impeachment and removal of presidents for “treason,” “bribery,” and “high crimes and misdemeanors,” but does not clearly define the terms.

Responding to reports that former national security adviser John Bolton has written in his forthcoming book that Trump told him he wanted to link Ukraine aid to an investigation of the Bidens, Dershowitz argued that even an explicit “quid pro quo” would not constitute an impeachable “abuse of power.”

“Nothing in the Bolton revelations, even if true, would rise to the level of an abuse of power, or an impeachable offense,” Dershowitz said. “That is clear from the history. That is clear from the language of the Constitution. You cannot turn conduct that is not impeachable into impeachable conduct simply by using terms like ‘quid pro quo’ and ‘personal benefit.'”

“It is inconceivable,” Dershowitz said, that the framers would have intended such “politically loaded terms” and “subjective'” words without clear definitions to serve as the basis for impeachment.

Fearing a partisan impeachment process, the framers had rejected the offense of “maladministration” as a basis for impeachment, Dershowitz noted, and “abuse of power” was similarly vague.

Dershowitz wrapped up his argument, steeped in historical and textual analysis of the constitution and founding documents, by urging senators to reject the “passions and fears of the moment,” as the framers had similarly warned.

A series of Republican senators lined up to shake Dershowitz’s hand after his presentation concluded.

I will confess that, over the years, when Professor Dershowitz would appear on a news program defending Clinton or some Liberal clause, I would think that he was just another Liberal Pundit.

However, in the last few years, I have come to respect the man.

He is brilliant and he knows the Constitution and our legal system inside and out.

If you would have told me years ago that the same Liberal Pundit who appeared on all of those news programs years ago defending President Clinton would, years later, be the one to give a well-needed lesson in Constitutional Law to Congressional Democrats, I would have thought that you were crazy.

However, that is exactly what happened.

Professor Dershowitz, along with the other members of Trump’s Legal Defense Team, continued yesterday what they had begun on Saturday: a complete evisceration of the House Managers’ very weak and totally political case for impeaching President Donald j. Trump.

The Defense Team covers everything from the history of impeachment to the corruption of the Bidens’ Ukraine Scandal to Obama’s “flexibility” with Putin.

To label their defense strategy as being “scorched earth” would be an understatement.

The Democrats went into the meeting buoyed by the leaked information from John Bolton’s book.

They left with smoke coming from the back of the pants of their $2,000 suits.

I hope that the Defense Team, coordinated by Jay Sekulow, follows the same strategy today.

It is entertaining, informative, and, most importantly, it’s a winner.

For putting our country through all of this stress and conflict for 3 years, simply because they lost the Presidential Election, the Democrats need to be embarrassing, and after President Trump is acquitted, some of them need to be indicted and frog-marched to prison in orange jumpsuits.

The Democrats have forgotten that they were elected to serve American Citizens, not special interest groups, and, most certainly, not themselves.

If they continue on the path to Marxism which they have undertaken, they deserve to go the way of the Whigs and be banished into the dust of history.

If that happens, they will have no one to blame but themselves.

Bolton’s Lawyer Says NSC’s Process of Reviewing Pending Manuscripts “Corrupted” After NYT Leak

untitled (297)

https://twitter.com/dbongino/status/1221617314044485632

FoxNews.com reports that

A top aide to former national security adviser John Bolton is disputing part of a Sunday report in The New York Times, which claimed Bolton had shared a manuscript of his forthcoming book with “close associates” — and Bolton’s lawyer is saying the National Security Council’s review process of pending manuscripts is “corrupted.”

The Times reported that the manuscript included a bombshell claim that Trump explicitly linked a hold on Ukraine aid to an investigation of Joe and Hunter Biden.

Trump told Bolton in August, according to a transcript of Bolton’s forthcoming book reviewed by the Times, “that he wanted to continue freezing $391 million in security assistance to Ukraine until officials there helped with investigations into Democrats including the Bidens.”

The Times reported that Bolton had circulated “drafts of a manuscript he has circulated in recent weeks to close associates” and also “sent a draft to the White House for a standard review process for some current and former administration officials who write books.”

Sarah Tinsley, a senior adviser to Bolton, told Fox News he had submitted a hard copy draft of his manuscript to the NSC [National Security Council] several weeks ago for “pre-publication review,” but had not shared it with anyone else.

A “pre-publication review” is standard for any former government officials who held security clearances and publicly write about their official work. The review typically would focus on ferreting out any classified or sensitive material in advance of publication, and could take from days to months.

In a statement obtained by Fox News, Bolton attorney Charles Cooper lamened that the review process had been “corrupted.”

“On December 30, 2019, I submitted, on behalf of Ambassador Bolton, a book manuscript to the National Security Council’s Records Management Division for standard prepublication security review for classified information. As explained in my cover letter to Ellen J. Knight, Senior Director of the Records Management Division, we submitted the manuscript notwithstanding our firm belief that the manuscript contained no information that could reasonably be considered classified and on the assurance that the ‘process of reviewing submitted materials is restricted to those career government officials and employees regularly charged with responsibility for such reviews’ and that the ‘contents of Ambassador Bolton’s manuscript will not be reviewed or otherwise disclosed to any persons not regularly involved in that process.'”

Cooper continued: “A copy of my December 30 letter is attached. It is clear, regrettably, from The New York Times article published today that the prepublication review process has been corrupted and that information has been disclosed by persons other than those properly involved in reviewing the manuscript.”

Bolton resigned last September. His team declined to “speculate” to Fox News as to how a description of his manuscript might have leaked to the Times.

Additionally, Bolton’s representatives made clear he was not denying the Times’ claim concerning the Ukraine aid holdup and the possible investigation of the Bidens.

At a Fox News Town Hall with Chris Wallace on Sunday in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, Pete Buttigieg joined a chrous of Democrats in calling for Bolton to testify in the wake of the Times’ report.

“Just now, we’re getting more indications about John Bolton, and what he knew, which is one more reason why, if this is a serious trial, we’re going to have the witnesses and evidence,” Buttigieg said.

Trump’s lawyers this week are set to resume presenting their defense in the Senate, which will then decide whether to hear additional witnesses by a simple majority vote. At the Town Hall, Buttigieg emphasized that Trump should be removed from office — a highly unlikely eventuality, given that a two-thirds vote of the GOP-controlled Senate would be necessary.

The report above was one of the top stories from yesterday, overshadowed by the tragic death of NBA Legend Kobe Bryant, his 13-year old daughter, and 7 others in a helicopter crash in California.

There are some curious things in this report that I am trying to figure out.

For instance, why would Trump hold money from Ukraine? They had already reopened the Biden Investigation four months before the phone call.

RedState.com reported on 10/9/19 that

Investigative reporter John Solomon appeared on “Hannity” Tuesday night to present new documents which show Ukraine had reopened an investigation into Hunter Biden’s payments from Burisma four months before the July 25th conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Then, there is the matter of how an advance draft of John Bolton’s new book got into the grubby little fingers of the Failing New York Times.

I would bet that there are some Deep State Operatives from the Obama Administration still working in the National Security Council…nameless, faceless bureaucratic pencil-pushers with access to the draft and a vendetta to keep against the President of the United States of America.

Just as was the case in every other leak coming from one of our Intelligence Agencies to a “soldiers” in the Democratic Party Vanguard known as the Main Stream Press, this information was leaked to attempt to damage President Trump and to drive him from office.

Most Americans, even casual news watchers, are aware that Bolton did not leave the Administration on the best of terms with the President. They have two different views on how America’s Foreign Policy should be carried out.

There, if Bolton actually is taking shots at the President in his new book, it will not be that big a surprise, although the Democrats and their minions in the MSM will try to make it “yuge”.

As the above article states, President Trump will NOT be impeached due to the Republicans being the majority party in the Senate.

And, might I add, I would not be surprised to see some of the Red State “Moderate” Democrats vote to acquit him as well.

…especially after Trump’s Legal Defense Team finishes the job they began on Saturday of tearing the House Dems’ flimsy Cast for Impeachment apart.

Until He Comes,
