Sunday Morning Thoughts: Bibles Taken Out of Elementary and Middle Schools After “Petition”

“In the Bible, Jesus says “Let the children come to me” — but parents and teachers in Utah have decided it’ll have to wait until high school.

At Davis School District, located north of Salt Lake City, the 27-book collection of Christian scripture has been shelved for students until they enter high school.

The district has removed the Bible from their elementary and middle school libraries after receiving a petition to ban the holy book due to its descriptions of sex and violence.” (Courtesy FoxNews.com)

When I first saw this on Fox and Friends, I said, “No way. Why would “parents and teachers” want to take the Bible out of schools?”

And then I realized how stupid my question was.

These had to be Far Left Democrats or very ignorant people.

I just inadvertently repeated myself.

But, I digress…

The Bible, the Incarnate Word of God, stands in the way of the Far Left’s indoctrination of our school children in the belief that there is nothing wrong with a massive central government taking care of them from cradle to grave.

Once you take away a child’s moral base, which is what American Christianity has always provided, along with strong traditional family units, then it is easier to teach a child that good is evil and evil is good.

And since the Far Left Democrats have already been waging a decades-long Jihad against the American tradition of strong traditional family units, they feel like there’s nothing stopping them from the complete radical change of America into a Cultural and Political Marxist Nation.

Because Americans have been fighting back against the sexualization and grooming of our children and grandchildren by insisting that inappropriate-aged sexually-explicit books be moved out of elementary and middle shool libraries, those who are hellbent on grooming childen are now turning their sights on the Bible in order to clear away a roadblock to their evil plans.

That’s right. I called it evil because it is.

We are living in Biblical Times.

The Bible tells us that men and women will turn away from what is right and just, becoming lovers of perversion and self.

It tells us that there will be a falling away from God’s Word and from the message that brings us to repentance, grace, and salvation through Jesus Christ.

Just as Americans have been fighting back against the sexualization of our children in public schools, so must Americans fight back against God’s Word being taken out of them.

Otherwise, our nation will suffer the same fate as the Israelites who worshiped the Golden Calf.

“But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.” – Matthew 12:25

Vichy Republican Romney Slams Trump in WaPo Op Ed for “Not Rising to the Mantle of the Office”

ct-mitt-romney-open-convention-stop-donald-trump-20160321Usually, Professional Politicians such as Willard Mitt Romney wait until they have officially taken their Oath of Office after an election before showing their true colors.

FoxNews.com reports that

Mitt Romney, former presidential candidate and a Republican senator-elect in Utah, has written a scathing op-ed for The Washington Post, saying President Trump “has not risen to the mantle of the office.”

Published in The Post on Tuesday, Romney’s piece reiterated past thoughts about Trump. That is, while Trump wasn’t his first choice to be the Republican Party’s presidential nominee in 2016, he hoped the billionaire businessman would “rise to the occasion” to lead and unite the U.S.

But, Romney said, he’s found that the president’s actions have proven otherwise.

“… On balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office,” Romney wrote.

Trump’s policies and appointments as president have not necessarily been “misguided,” according to the former Massachusetts governor, who said he was encouraged by the elevation of Rex Tillerson, Jeff Sessions, Nikki Haley, Gary Cohn, H.R. McMaster, John Kelly and James Mattis — a majority of whom  have since been fired or resigned from the administration.

Romney said Trump should be bringing the country together, inspiring Americans. He should demonstrate “the essential qualities of honesty and integrity, and elevate the national discourse with comity and mutual respect.”

“As a nation, we have been blessed with presidents who have called on the greatness of the American spirit,” he wrote. “With the nation so divided, resentful and angry, presidential leadership in qualities of character is indispensable. And it is in this province where the incumbent’s shortfall has been most glaring.”

The 71-year-old noted that the rest of the world often looks to the U.S. “for leadership” — and that the “world needs American leadership” — but that Trump’s “words and actions have caused dismay around the world.”

“To reassume our leadership in world politics, we must repair failings in our politics at home. That project begins, of course, with the highest office once again acting to inspire and unite us,” Romney wrote in the op-ed. He added that, “Our leaders must defend our vital institutions despite their inevitable failings: a free press, the rule of law, strong churches, and responsible corporations and unions.”

He said that regardless of the politician, he’ll support policies that benefit Americans and those he represents in Utah. Romney said he won’t comment on all of the president’s tweets or problems, but “will speak out against significant statements or actions that are divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions.”

Average Americans living in America’s Heartland, Conservatives, such as myself, were presented a raw deal by the GOP in the Presidential Election of 2012. Their chosen one, Willard Mitt Romney, was a horrible candidate. He was a one of the GOP Elite. A Vichy Republican, Moderate, who, regarding many Social Issues in his past history, took stances to the Left of the Political Spectrum. On top of that, “Romneycare” in Massachusetts, was the Godfather of the State-run Healthcare Monster known as Obamacare.

That was an awful lot of baggage for a Republican candidate to be carrying.

When the Conservative Base raised questions about the GOP Elites’ predetermined candidate, were their concerns met with empathy?

Hardly.

Shut up!

the GOP Establishment and New England Moderate wing explained.

So, dutifully, out of love for our country, average Americans between the coasts held our noses and voted for Mitt Romney…because anyone would have been better than the Democratic presidential Candidate, the incompetent incumbent, President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm).

…And…Willard Mitt Romey lost.

Why? How could he? Obama was, and remains to this very day,  an anti-American, Muslim-sympathizing, political-pandering, class warfare-preaching, tax-the-rich, spread-the-wealth, card-carrying Communist.

Michael Barone, writing for the Washington Examiner, presented the following theory after Obama won re-election:

In both elections [2004, 2012], each candidate concentrated on a more or less fixed list of target states, and in both elections the challenger depended heavily on outside groups’ spending that failed to achieve optimal results.

The popular vote margins were similar — 51 to 48 percent for George W. Bush in 2004, 51 to 47 percent for Barack Obama in 2012.

The one enormous difference was turnout. Turnout between the 2000 and 2004 elections rose from 105 million to 122 million, plus 16 percent. Turnout between the 2008 and 2012 elections fell from 131 million to 128 million, minus 2 percent.

Turnout is a measure of organization but also of spontaneous enthusiasm.

In 2004 John Kerry got 16 percent more popular votes than Al Gore had four years before. But he lost because George W. Bush got 23 percent more popular votes than he had four years before.

Kerry voters were motivated more by negative feelings for Bush than by positive feelings for their candidate. They disagreed with Bush’s major policies and disliked him personally. The Texas twang, the swagger, the garbled sentence structure — it was like hearing someone scratch his fingers on a blackboard.

Bush voters were more positively motivated. Political reporters had a hard time picking this up. His job rating was weak, but Bush voters tended to have a lot of warmth for him.

He had carried us through 9/11, he had confronted our enemies directly, he had pushed through with bipartisan support popular domestic measures like his education bill and the Medicare prescription drug benefit.

His criticism of his opponents was measured and never personal, and he blamed none of his difficulties on his predecessor (who had blamed none of his on his).

This affection evaporated pretty quickly, in the summer of 2005, with scenes of disorder in the streets of Baghdad and New Orleans. But it was there in 2004 and you can see it in that 23 percent turnout increase.

The 2012 election was different. Barack Obama got 6 percent fewer popular votes than he had gotten in 2008. And Mitt Romney got only 1 percent more popular votes than John McCain had four years before.

In retrospect, it looks like both campaigns fell short of their turnout goals. Yes, examination of election returns and exit polls indicates that the Obama campaign turned out voters where it really needed them.

That enabled him to carry Florida by 1 percent, Ohio by 3 percent, Virginia by 4 percent, and Colorado and Pennsylvania by 5 percent. Without those states he would have gotten only 243 electoral votes and would now be planning his presidential library.

But the conservative bloggers who argued that the Obama campaign’s early voting numbers were below target may have been right. If Mitt Romney had gotten 16 percent more popular votes than his predecessor, as John Kerry did, he would have led Obama by 4 million votes and won the popular vote 51 to 48 percent.

Romney, like Kerry, depended on voters’ distaste for the incumbent; he could not hope to inspire the devotion Bush enjoyed in 2004 and that Obama had from a diminished number in 2008.

But, to continue this counterfactual scenario, if Obama had won 23 percent more popular votes this year than in 2008, he would have beaten Romney by 85 million to 69 million votes and by 54 to 44 percent.

The reality was, Mitt Romney lost. Afterwards, his son, Tagg Romney, claimed that his Dad never really wanted to be president, in the first place.

Uh huh. Sure.

If he did not want to be president, why did he run?

If he did not want to be president, why did he attack the other primary candidates, especially the Conservative Republicans, with a fury reminiscent of Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan, rolling around in an African river, as he killed a humongous crocodile with his knife?

Was he put up to this by the GOP Elite, so desperate for an easily-manipulated Washington Insider, that they overlooked Romney’s failures as a candidate in previous elections?

Immediately after the man-made disaster, known on November 6th, 2012, the GOP Elite were calling for the direction of the Party to move even farther Left, in order to “be more competitive”.

And that, gentle readers, if why the Vichy Republicans continued a streak of losing second only to the Harlem Globetrotters’ hapless foes, the Washington Generals.

A streak that would have continued to this very day if a Citizen Statesman by the name of Donald J. Trump has not decided that his company needed him and thrown his hit into the 2016 Republican Presidential Primary.

The majority of Americans, except for those little blue dots in the urban areas, denoting Democrat voters, on the map showing the election results, remain Conservative average Americans, “bitterly clinging to our Bibles and guns”.

Mitt Romney remains a Second Generation Professional Politician and member of the GOP Elite

Even back in 2012, we he attempted to present himself as a Conservative candidate, attempting to articulate Conservatism and the Party Platform, and trying to connect with us average Americans living here in the Heartland, his status as a member of the GOP Elite did not resonate well with those of us who are now known as “Deplorables” by the Democrat Hierarchy (ad probably by the GOP Elite, as well).

If Romney has exhibited the down-to-Earth, straight-talking charisma of Donald J. Trump during his 2012 Presidential Campaign, then he probably would have beaten the Manchurian Candidate, Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm).

Instead, what he had then was “a failure to communicate”.

And now, it appears that he is experiencing a failure to comprehend.

The Race For the Republican Nomination: Of Trump, Evangelicals, and Self-Appointed Prophets

American Christianity 2Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies. – Groucho Marx

The Christian Post reports that

At a campaign rally for Sen. Ted Cruz in Utah Saturday, popular radio host Glenn Beck accused evangelical Christians who are supporting Republican frontrunner Donald Trump of “not listening to their God.”

“Utah has an incredible opportunity. So many Christians have been standing up. But all throughout the South the evangelicals are not listening to their God. Let us raise a standard in Utah,” Beck said in support of Trump’s Republican rival.

Addressing Mormon voters directly, Beck then asked: “Where the hell are the priesthood holders? Where are you? Thank you. It’s time to stand up. It’s time to stand up. You know what time it is. The priesthood is supposed to rise up and restore the Constitution. Now is that time. Period.”

Cruz went on to win the Utah caucuses Tuesday, capturing 69.2 percent of the vote and taking all 40 delegates, though he still trails Trump in the delegates race.

Beck has strongly criticized Trump’s portrayal of himself as a Christian, suggesting back in February that even the idea that Trump reads the Bible is a “crock of [expletive].”

Beck said at a South Carolina Cruz rally that “too many people are looking at Trump and believing that man has ever opened a Bible … that’s the biggest crock of [expletive] I’ve ever heard.”

Trump has insisted that he is a Presbyterian and has a “great relationship” with God. He’s also claimed that “nobody reads the Bible more than me.”

Polls have showed that there is an important distinction to be made in regard to what type of evangelicals are voting in the elections, however.

A Pew Research analysis found that 39 percent of self-identified evangelical voters in the Republican Party do not believe that the Bible is the literal Word of God, while a separate Wall Street Journal poll showed that only 38 percent of Trump supporters attended worship on a weekly or more basis.

Anthony B. Bradley, chairman of the program in religious and theological studies, who also serves as associate professor of religious studies at King’s College in New York City, told The Christian Post during an interview last month that evangelicalism is not among the top concerns of evangelicals going to the polls.

“Trump evangelicals are evangelicals who have been on the margins. They are not mainstream evangelicals who are burdened by the sort of traditional concerns of the Church. Trump evangelicals are angry. They are mad at the Obama administration. They believe that the Obama administration has ruined the country,” Bradley told CP.

Dr. Richard Land, president of the Southern Evangelical Seminary and executive editor of The Christian Post, questioned the self-identified evangelical supports of Trump, and said that true evangelicals vote for their values.

“I vote my values, my beliefs and my convictions, I’m not pragmatic. Which means I don’t compromise my values, beliefs and convictions for what I may perceive to be my own narrow self-interests. I don’t see pragmatic in the New Testament, I see being salt and light,” said Land.

Okay. Before I begin this rant…err…analysis…please allow me to state up front, that I am a Bible-believing Christian, who lives in the Northwest Corner of the Magnolia State, and I am heavily involved in my local Contemporary Southern Baptist Church.

Dr. Bradley, judging by your position in academia, you are no doubt a learned man.

Saying that, please allow me to ask you this: Who are you to question my Christianity, over whom I decide to cast my vote for in any election, much less this very important one?

Sir, my faith is not marginal. I stand on The Solid Rock, not shifting sands.

America is a Constitutional Republic, not a Theocracy. And, as such, Americans, including the 75% of us who declare that Jesus Christ is our Personal Savior, must each make our own individual choice as to whom would best represent us as the Leader of the Free World, based upon both logic and the Spiritual Gift of Discernment.

Logic dictates that I vote for someone who will keep my family, my friends, and my country safe from the murderous barbarians that are at our gates. It also drives me to choose someone who actually has a chance to defeat the Democrat Candidate, the representative of the political party whose sitting President has driven this Sovereign Nation straight down the Highway to Hell, over the last seven years.

Judging from the Republican Primaries’ outcome, so far, the overwhelming majority of voters believe that candidate to be Donald J. Trump.

Concerning the Gift of Discernment, that gift has led me to observe that there are no Saints running for the Presidency of the United States of America…not one.

It has also led me to discern that Glenn Beck has become crazier than an Outhouse Rat. (That’s a Southern Colloquialism for meshuga, Professor.)

I can remember when The Glenn Beck Program first came on in the Memphis Radio Market.

I remember thinking, “Hey, this fellow’s pretty sharp. He’s entertaining and he makes some excellent political points.”

Through the era of the TEA Party and the 2008 elections, Beck became a TEA Party Darling, standing in solidarity with those Americans, who were “Taxed Enough Already”.

But then…things slowly started to change.

Imperceptible at first, Beck slowly, over a span of years, changed from being an analyzer of the news, to a maker of it. He changed from being a commentator to being a self-appointed prophet.

Now, with the very real possibility of Donald J. Trump becoming the Republican Nominee as their Presidential Candidate, Beck, whose severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, has made his once-entertaining radio program unlistenable, has now turned into an Old Testament Prophet, shaming those Christians who may even be thinking about voting for Trump, instead of Beck’s “Anointed” Candidate, Senator Ted Cruz.

I do believe that Beck’s Holy Garments have ridden up into a dark and lonely place.

Finally, addressing Dr. Land…I respect you tremendously, sir.

In responding to your admonition, please allow me to reply with a Facebook Post from last Saturday, from someone that I also respect tremendously, Rev. Franklin Graham:

Trump Madness—It’s “trumping” everything in the news, even March Madness. Do you believe protesters blocking the road to his rally to stop people from getting there today? There are those who passionately support him and others who are adamantly against him. He’s a political phenomenon like our country hasn’t seen before. I don’t think America has ever had a presidential candidate opposed by both establishments, Republican and Democratic, as well as the sitting president. I just hope that as a result of this unforgettable campaign season, politicians on all sides will get the message loud and clear that Americans are tired of the status quo and the corruption that has gripped Washington. Join me in praying for the 2016 elections and for the future of this nation.

That is my hope, as well, sir.

This is in no way meant to be an equal comparison, but, it is the best that I can come up with…

Just as my choice to accept Salvation through Jesus Christ was a Personal Experience, so is my choice as to whom to vote for in both the Republican Primary and this coming November.

Rest assured, Dr. Land, and all of my “Facebook Friends”, who are so concerned about my Christianity, in light of my perceived Presidential Choice, as a Christian, before I make any decision, I always consult with Someone “above my Pay Grade”.

Way Above.

Until He Comes,

The New Fascism: Soros-Funded Protestors Attempt to Shut Down Trump Utah Rally

untitled (37)( In memory of my dear friend and supporter, “Omaha Conservative”. Rest in Peace.)

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. – The First Amendment to the United States Constitution”

…We pledge ourselves to speak out nonviolently in every way possible against the politics of hate, violence, and exclusion Donald Trump represents.

Together, we’re putting the media and political institutions on notice for normalizing Trump’s extremism by treating it as entertainment, by giving it inordinate and unequal air time, and by refusing to condemn it.

We believe Trump is a grave threat to democracy, freedom, human rights, equality, and the welfare of our country. We have witnessed Trump inciting hatred against Muslims, immigrants, women, and the disabled. That’s why we are speaking out against Donald Trump for his hatred, misogyny, Islamaphobia, and racism and to give platform for the voices of the silent majority of Americans who do not and will not stand for it.

Together we can inspire a collective awakening of people across all spectrums of the US to speak out and create actions to end hatred and inject values of respect, inclusion, love, and equality back into our national politics.

Foxnews.com reports that

Supporters of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump and protesters clashed after a rally in Utah on Friday.

Crowds who chanted “Donald Trump” were met with “Mr. Hate Out of Our State” as police in riot gear blocked the entrance to the Infinity Event Center in Salt Lake City. Protesters tried to rush the door of the building and got into screaming matches with Trump supporters who were barred from entering the venue.

According to KSTU-TV, people who were exiting the building were being pelted with rocks. Some protesters were seen tearing down a security tent that the U.S. Secret Service used to screen attendees before they entered the building.

“Like I said, overall, you know our officers were on standby, we were just hoping everything was peaceful, and, no problems whatsoever, and fortunately it turned out just as we anticipated,” Salt Lake City Police Det. Cody Lougy told KSTU-TV.

Lougy told the Salt Lake Tribune that he didn’t think anyone was arrested.

According to the paper, the heated demonstrations outside the Infinity Event Center weren’t the only protests around the city.

Tony Yapias, the director of Proyecto Latino, played a voice mail message over a loudspeaker he received Friday morning of someone telling him to leave the U.S. Yapias told the Tribune that Trump’s rhetoric is playing a part in the increased tension drawn toward Latinos.

He said the rally – which was attended by about 150 people – was to show that the Hispanic community in Utah will not back down from his hate speech. Some in the crowd were heard chanting “Get out Trump” in Spanish.

Trump spoke to a crowd  [of] people in Salt Lake City and took a shot at former presidential candidate and Utah resident Mitt Romney, who said he was going to support Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the state’s caucuses.

“Are you sure he’s a Mormon? Are we sure?” he jokingly asked his crowd at the Infinity Event Center.

Romney, who has made Utah his adopted home, said Friday that he plans to vote for Cruz in the state’s Tuesday caucuses. He made the announcement on his official Facebook page as Kasich was speaking to about 600 people during a town hall at Utah Valley University.

MoveOn.org was formed in 1998 as a supposedly “bipartisan e-mail group” in order to send a petition to Congress to “move on” past the planned  impeachment of President Clinton. It rose to national prominence for its strong disapproval of the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

A Liberal Political Group based in the United States, MoveOn.org has played the role of a National Community Organizer and Democratic Propaganda Machine, whose “foot soldiers”, paid and unpaid, are estimated to number over 2,000,000. The group’s publicly stated mission was to promote “grassroots advocacy” through various political activities including running a PAC, voter registration drives, and political advertising (especially in swing states).

It’s covert mission is more nefarious.

MoveOn.org supported the Democratic nominees for the 2004 U.S. presidential election, and played a part in the failed attempt to stop George W. Bush’s re-election effort, raising millions of dollars for Democratic candidates. It is one of several 527 committees who supported John Kerry, the Democratic nominee in the 2004 U.S. presidential election; others include America Coming Together and the Media Fund.

Like numerous other Far Left Political Organizations, a major funder of MoveOn is Former Nazi Collaborator and Hedge Fund Billionaire, George Soros.

George Soros and a partner ponied up $5 million to MoveOn.org, bringing to $15.5 million the total of his personal contributions in the failed attempt to oust President George W. Bush.

Now, in 2016, after funding the election of the worst United States President in History, Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm), the “Evil Puppetmaster” is financing the racist movement known as Black Lives Matter, which has joined with MoveOn.org, in an effort to violate the First Amendment Rights of Donald J. Trump and to prevent him from becoming President of the United States of America.

It should be noted that, according to various sources, during the Nazi Occupation of Hungary in the 1940s, Soros reported his own countrymen to the Nazis (National Socialist Party of Germany), facilitating their removal via “the long train ride from which very few ever returned”.

Soros began his modern “philanthropic activity” in 1979, establishing the Open Society Foundations in 1984. These “foundations” (i.e., political organizations), fund a range of global initiatives “to advance justice, education, public health, business development and independent media.”

It is through this “philanthropic activity” that Soros is funding the current “civil unrest”, the seeds of which were planted in Ferguson, Missouri.

An article published by the Washington Times, on January 14, 2015, titled “George Soros funds Ferguson protests, hopes to spur civil action”, reporter Kelly Riddell went into detail about Soros’ “Community Organizing”…

… Mr. Soros gave at least $33 million in one year to support already-established groups that emboldened the grass-roots, on-the-ground activists in Ferguson, according to the most recent tax filings of his nonprofit Open Society Foundations.

The financial tether from Mr. Soros to the activist groups gave rise to a combustible protest movement that transformed a one-day criminal event in Missouri into a 24-hour-a-day national cause celebre.

“Our DNA includes a belief that having people participate in government is indispensable to living in a more just, inclusive, democratic society,” said Kenneth Zimmerman, director of Mr. Soros‘ Open Society Foundations’ U.S. programs, in an interview with The Washington Times. “Helping groups combine policy, research [and] data collection with community organizing feels very much the way our society becomes more accountable.”

…Colorlines is an online news site that focuses on race issues and is published by Race Forward, a group that received $200,000 from Mr. Soros’s foundation in 2011. Colorlines has published tirelessly on the activities in Ferguson and heavily promoted the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag and activities.

…Mr. Soros gave $5.4 million to Ferguson and Staten Island grass-roots efforts last year to help “further police reform, accountability and public transparency,” the Open Society Foundations said in a blog post in December. About half of those funds were earmarked to Ferguson, with the money primarily going to OBS and MORE, the foundation said.

So, why is the “Evil Puppetmaster” pouring so much money into this “Shout Trump Down” Movement?

Soros is merely protecting his investment.

Per the Chicago Tribune,

Over the past few years, Soros’ charities have given between $1.5 million and $6 million to the Clinton Foundation. Soros’s biggest contribution this year is a total of $7 million to Priorities USA, the main super-PAC supporting Clinton. Another $1 million went to American Bridge, an opposition-research group. And last week, he announced he was putting $5 million into a new super-PAC known as Immigrant Voters Win. The group is part of a coordinated $15 million voter-turnout effort, first reported in the New York Times, that is targeting Latinos and immigrants in Colorado, Nevada and Florida.

As I have previously written, I firmly believe that America is now fighting a new war against fascism.

It’s not a war that is being fought fought with guns and bullets, But instead with state referendums, Congressional votes, Executive Orders, judicial activism, and FAR Left-sponsored and organized Political Activists.

And, it’s not our Brightest and Best who are dying on this field of battle, but rather, it is our Constitutional Freedoms which are dying an ignoble death, pierced by the arrows of socialism and political correctness.

Whether you like him or not, Donald J. Trump has the same Constitutional right to speak his mind, as any citizen of the United States of America.

For these Soros-funded, fascist “New Bolsheviks”, to attempt to forcibly invade and shut down all of Trump’s Political Rallies is an exercise in intimidation that has not been seen since the days of the Russian Revolution and Germany’s National Sociality Party.

Of course, don’t not attempt to tell a Modern American Liberal that.

After all, it’s not Fascism when they do it.

The Rise of the Gay Mafia: Judicial Activism Vs. The Will of the American People

judicial activismFollowing on the heels of an Activist Judge’s Ruling, forcing a Christian Baker in Phoenix to bake a “Wedding Cake” for a Lesbian Couple, who could have gone to another baker, but, who were Gay Activists making a political point, once again, Activist Judges have circumvented the will of the American people, declaring as “unconstitutional”, laws against “gay marriage”, passed by the citizens of New Mexico and Utah.

According to the judges in the New Mexico Ruling, the law violated the Equal Protection Law, in their State Constitution,as Fox News reports…

“We hold that the State of New Mexico is constitutionally required to allow same-gender couples to marry and must extend to them the rights, protections and responsibilities that derive from civil marriage under New Mexico law,” Justice Edward L. Chavez wrote.

With that ruling, New Mexico joined 16 other states and the District of Columbia in allowing gay marriage either through legislation, court rulings or voter referendums in a trend that has dramatically shifted in just a few years nationally.

“At first, I never thought I’d see this in my lifetime,” Rand said. “But over the last few years you began noticing a change in public opinion and I thought…maybe.”

Before the ruling, eight of New Mexico’s 33 counties had already started issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

County officials asked the high court to clarify the law and establish a uniform state policy on gay marriage. Historically, county clerks have denied marriage licenses to same-sex couples because state statutes include a marriage license application with sections for male and female applicants.

The Democratic-controlled Legislature repeatedly has turned down proposals for domestic partnerships for same-sex couples and a constitutional amendment that would have allowed voters to decide whether to legalize gay marriage. Measures to ban same-sex marriage also have failed.

Advocacy groups and supporters hailed the decision.

“I can’t get past happy, happy, happy at the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision that rules in favor of freedom and equality for everyone to marry the person they love,” Santa Fe Mayor David Coss said in a statement.

The American Civil Liberties Union and the National Center for Lesbian Rights represented same-sex couples in the Supreme Court case. They contended gay marriage must be allowed because of constitutional guarantees of equal protection under the law and a state constitutional prohibition against discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Meanwhile groups like the Flora Vista-based Voices for Family Values vowed to fight on. The group said its members already are gathering signatures for petitions to present to lawmakers during the upcoming session in January.

“The Catholic Church respects and loves the gay and lesbian members of our community,” the New Mexico Conference of Catholic Bishops said in a statement. “We will continue to promote Catholic teaching of the Biblical definition of marriage to be that of one man and one woman.”

Under the ruling, clergy who disagree with same-sex marriage can decline to perform wedding ceremonies for gay and lesbian couples.

Gov. Susana Martinez, a Republican and who has opposed same-sex marriage, said she would have preferred voters deciding the issue rather than the courts. But she urged New Mexicans to “respect one another in their discourse” and turn their focus onto other issues facing the state.

“As we move forward, I am hopeful that we will not be divided, as we must come together to tackle very pressing issues, like reforming education and growing our economy, in the weeks and months ahead,” Martinez said.

In the case of the Utah Ruling, it was a Federal Judge who struck down the law passed by the citizens of Utah. Per Fox News,

A federal judge struck down Utah’s same-sex marriage ban Friday in a decision that brings an increasing nationwide shift toward allowing gay marriage to a conservative state where the Mormon church has long been against it.

U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby issued a 53-page ruling saying Utah’s law passed by voters in 2004 violates gay and lesbian couples’ rights to due process and equal protection under the 14th Amendment.

Shelby said the state failed to show that allowing same-sex marriages would affect opposite-sex marriages in any way.

“In the absence of such evidence, the State’s unsupported fears and speculations are insufficient to justify the State’s refusal to dignify the family relationships of its gay and lesbian citizens,” Shelby wrote.

Late Friday, the state filed both a notice of appeal of the ruling and a request for an emergency stay that would stop marriage licenses from being issued to same-sex couples. It’s unknown when the judge will make a decision on whether to grant the stay.

“It will probably take a little bit of time to get everything in place,” said Ryan Bruckman, a spokesman for the attorney general’s office. He said the judge told the attorney general’s office it would be a couple of days before any request for an emergency stay would be reviewed.

Gov. Gary Herbert vowed to “defend traditional marriage” in light of the ruling.

“I am very disappointed an activist federal judge is attempting to override the will of the people of Utah,” Herbert said in a statement. “I am working with my legal counsel and the acting attorney general to determine the best course to defend traditional marriage within the borders of Utah.”

The Salt Lake County clerk’s office started issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Deputy Clerk Dahnelle Burton-Lee said the district attorney authorized her office to begin issuing the licenses but she couldn’t immediately say how many have been issued so far.

Utah’s lawsuit was brought by three gay and lesbian couples. One of the couples was legally married in Iowa and just wants that license recognized in Utah.

Regardless of what weighted polls, and opinion-makers in the Northeast and the Left Coast try to put forward as fact, the majority of Americans, living in America’s Heartland, oppose “gay marriage”.

Just look  at a map denoting the states who allow “gay marriage” and those who have voted against it.

And, in a related issue, ask Walmart if they have any Duck Dynasty Merchandise left on their shelves. Just sayin’…

The truth is, Gay Activists could not get their way by going to the American people, so now, they, and the Liberals who walk the Halls of Power in Washington, DC, are usurping the will of the people by using Activist Judges, on both the State and Federal level, to attempt to force a change in the cultural mores or America.

The brilliant Economist and Conservative Pundit, Dr. Thomas Sowell, wrote the following about Judicial Activism:

The ultimate issue between judicial activism and judicial restraint is the institutional locus of discretion, and no amount of insistence on the desirability of change or morality answers the question as to who is to decide what specific changes or what specific morality is needed. The institutional security of federal judges, appointed for life, may provide temptations for assuming this prerogative, without providing either moral or pragmatic justification. If no authorization is needed for judges to introduce “change,” neither is it needed for generals and admirals to do the same– as in fact happens in a number of countries. Judges can conduct limited coups d’etat surreptitiously, while a military coup is usually overt and sweeping. Nevertheless, the dangers to constitutional government are no less real in the long run from judicial activism– both because of the cumulative effect of small usurpations and because small usurpations both generate pressures and provide the precedents for larger usurpations by others with different social visions.

The claim that judicial activism is necessary to rescue us from bondage to the past– from having the writers of the Constitution “rule us from the grave”– defies both logic and history. There is no contest between the living and the dead. The contest is between those living individuals who wish to see control of change in judicial hands and those who wish to see it in other hands. There has been no argument that either statutory or constitutional laws are not to change. The only meaningful question is: Who is to change them? The reiterated emphasis on change, like the reiterated emphasis on morality, argues what is not at issue and glides over what is crucially at issue: Why are judges the authorized instrument? The original cognitive meaning of laws– constitutional or statutory– is important, not out of deference to the dead, but because that is the agreed‑upon meaning among the living, until they choose to make an open and explicit change– not have one foisted on them by the verbal sleight-of‑hand of judges.

Existing social philosophies and political alignments cannot be presupposed in discussions of long-run questions, such as constitutional interpretation. Even within the judiciary, differences in “substantive values” have been drastic over time, and by no means negligible even at a given time. The belief that a constitutional structure can be maintained while jurists with radically different visions make “substantive choices” within it seems dangerously similar to a belief that one can slide half-way down a slippery slope. The argument for judicial activism must stand or fall in general and enduring terms, not simply on whether some current political or social creed is considered so superior to competing creeds as to justify judges’ decisions in its favor. It is ultimately not a question of the relative merits of particular political or social creeds but of the long-run consequences of opening the floodgates to the generic principle of constitutional decisions based on “substantive values.” Once you have opened the floodgates, you cannot tell the water where to go.

It’s those “long-run consequences” that’ll get you every time.

Just ask the citizens of the Roman Empire.

RNC 2012: A Star is Born

Last night, a fresh ray of sunshine reflected off the podium at the Republican National Convention

The sunshine’s name is Mia Love.

Here is her official biography:

Mia was born in Brooklyn, New York and eventually moved to Connecticut. Mia recalls both parents working hard to earn a living, her father at times taking on second jobs cleaning toilets to pay for school for their three children. On the day of Mia’s college orientation, her father said something to her that would become the ethos for her life:

“Mia, your mother and I never took a handout.

You will not be a burden to society. You will give back.”

Mia graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in fine arts. She found faith. Then she found Jason. And then she found herself in Utah ready to give back. Mia served two terms on the city council of Saratoga Springs, one of Utah’s fastest growing cities. As City Councilwoman and eventually Mayor, Mia led the city through a period of 1700% population growth in a decade. Under her leadership, the city was able to successfully navigate the drastic transition from agricultural fields to a booming residential community. When the citizen growth necessitated fire and police services, Mia fought to make sure the city’s first ever residential tax implementation would only pay for those essential services, and she structured it in such a way that the tax decreased as a percentage of property value.

Toward the end of her last term as city councilwoman, America experienced one of the deepest economic downturns in decades. Mia Love and her fellow council members were faced with making a drastic 30% budget cut, as much as 67% in some areas. Laid off employees were people she would see at church and at the grocery store. Nevertheless, Mia made the tough decisions to roll back government and cut spending where it wasn’t absolutely necessary. Mia’s leadership and principled decision making during the challenging times her city faced resulted in her election as Mayor in 2009 by an overwhelming majority. One of her first acts as mayor was to reduce the residential property tax. These acts were the basis for Saratoga Springs receiving the highest Standard & Poors municipal rating available to a city of its class, at a time when many cities were being downgraded.

Mayor Love is best known for her conservative positions on limited government, increased citizen liberties and limited restraints on business. She believes the best thing she can do as mayor is stay out of the way of business and out of the lives of citizens. She advocates a return to the personal responsibility and reduced government dependency engendered by her father. Nearly a decade of weekly policy decisions reflecting these ideals makes her exceptionally experienced and qualified to do what needs to be done in Washington, DC–cut programs, cut spending, cut taxes and empower business and citizens to thrive and profit.

Mia is a wife and mother of 3 children. In her spare time Mia is an avid runner, tread trainer, and accomplished singer and dancer.

Last night, she gave the following speech at the RNC:

Let me tell you about the America I know. My parents immigrated to the U.S. believing that the America they had heard about really did exist. When times got tough they did not look to Washington, they looked within. So, the America I came to know was centered in personal responsibility and filled with the American dream.

The America I know is grounded in the determination found in patriots and pioneers, in small business owners with big ideas, in the farmers who work in the beauty of our landscapes, in our heroic military, and our inspiring Olympians. It is in every child who looks at the seemingly impossible and says, “I can do that.” That is the America I know!

President Obama’s version of America is a divided one, often pitting us against each other based on our income level, gender, and social status. His policies have failed. We are not better off than we were four years ago and no rhetoric, bumper sticker, or Hollywood ad campaign can change that.

Mr. President I am here to tell you – we are not buying what you are selling in 2012.

Why? Because we know that the American dream is not just my story, and it is not just your story, it is our story. It is a story of human struggle – of standing up and striving for more. It’s been told for over 200 years with small steps and giant leaps: from a woman on a bus to a man with a dream; from the bravery of the greatest generation to the entrepreneurs of today. This is our story – this is the America we know because we built it.

With Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan we can revive the American story we know and love. The world will know it, our children will tell it, and our grandchildren will possess it for years to come!

After all of the unpleasantness and downright political chicanery of yesterday’s marginalization of Conservatives by the GOP Elite…Mrs. Love was a breath of fresh air.

This young lady is destined to accomplish great things in the service of her state and her country.
