Cochran’s Pyrrhic Victory: Bribery, Racism, and Fear…Oh, My!

The fallout continues, as more and more information pours in, as to how incumbent Mississippi Republican Senator Thad Cochran achieved his victory in Monday night’s Primary Election against TEA Party Candidate Chris McDaniel.

The truth ain’t pretty.

The New York Times reported that

With an unusual assist from African-American voters and other Democrats who feared his opponent, Senator Thad Cochran on Tuesday beat back a spirited challenge from State Senator Chris McDaniel, triumphing in a Republican runoff and defeating the Tea Party in the state where the movement’s hopes were bright.

“We all have a right to be proud of our state tonight,” Mr. Cochran said at his victory party in Jackson, Miss. “This is your victory.”

Mr. McDaniel, speaking in Hattiesburg, was angry, and he did not hesitate to say so. “There is something a bit strange, there is something a bit unusual about a Republican primary that’s decided by liberal Democrats,” he said.

He accused Mr. Cochran of abandoning the conservative movement. “So much for principles,” he said.

Mr. McDaniel, an uncompromising conservative, relied on the muscle of outside groups and the enthusiasm of conservative voters who are weary of Mr. Cochran’s old-school Washington ways.

The 76-year-old senator ran a largely sleepy campaign until the primary on June 3, when he was edged out by Mr. McDaniel but won enough votes to keep his opponent from outright victory. Mr. Cochran, who is seeking his seventh term, used the past three weeks to turn out Democratic voters — especially African-Americans — to make up that deficit.

Which begs the question: Why would a bunch of Black Democrats down here in Mississippi, vote for a 76-year-old “cracka”, who bills himself as a “Conservative Republican”?

Back on June 17th, Breitbart News reported the following:

Rickey Cole, the chairman of the Mississippi Democratic Party, says Cochran’s allies are paying Democratic operatives to help get out the vote with a questionable tactic.

“Pete Perry” – the chairman of the Hinds County Republican Party – “is paying James ‘Scooby Doo’ Warren thousands of dollars to funnel to black preachers and others to get-out-the-vote for Cochran,” Cole wrote in a Facebook message sent to a top aide of state Sen. Chris McDaniel’s campaign, Ric McCluskey, just after midnight Tuesday.

“Large sums of cash are being passed around. These guys are old school ‘walking around money’ vote buyers,” Cole wrote in the message, obtained by Breitbart News, adding, “Need some out of state media to put some heavy scrutiny on Pete asap.”

In a phone interview, Cole confirmed he made the allegations and that he thinks there should be an investigation. “I can’t prove any of it yet,” Cole said. “This is just what I had heard. It think it warrants investigating, because I don’t know all of the details on it I just got word that James [‘Scooby Doo’ Warren] was bragging that he got money.”

“The reason I sent that text is because I wanted the McDaniel people to know that there was an effort out here ongoing to mobilize Democratic voters to vote for Cochran,” Cole added. “That’s simply because I don’t like the idea of Democrats voting in the Republican primary or Republicans voting in the Democratic primary. I believe members of each party should vote in their own primaries.”

Warren confirmed to the Clarion-Ledger that he is working for Cochran, and got approval from Washington, D.C., Democrats to do so. “I called D.C. and told them what was going on with the tea party,” Warren said. “But I can’t do anything after the 24th because I’m a Democrat … Whoever wins will have to deal with me in November.”

In the story, Warren is not quoted addressing allegations of impropriety from Cole.

In an interview Monday, Perry said he hopes that money routed through him won’t end up used to pay for votes.

When asked if he thinks there’s payments for votes happening in this election, Perry said that “I certainly hope not” adding that while he’s “been against that all my life since the 60s” he has “seen it done and I’m totally against it.”

And, if paying them off did not motivate Black Democrats to vote for an old White Republican, the Cochran Campaign used another time-proven tactic.

The undisputed Godfather of Conservative Radio Talk Show Hosts, Rush Limbaugh, said the following about this disgusting flyer on his program , yesterday:

Now, it would be one thing if the Democrats did that. They do it every election cycle anyway. But for them to be joined, even if from a distance, by the Republican establishment here, simply confirms what we have long said on this program about establishment Washington. It is ruling class vs. country class. It’s elites vs. the plebes. You and me are the plebes, and they are the elites, and they are aligning together.

My friend Mark Levin, F. Lee Levin, makes the point that Washington is not going to be fixed from Washington. This proves it, if there was any proof needed. Washington is not going to be fixed in Washington. The establishment is going to align itself every which way it can against any outside challenger, like this Tea Party candidate. But it does look like African-Americans.

Democrat African-Americans really did secure the victory for Thad Cochran in a Republican primary. So here we have a result that is not representative of the Republican Party thinking in Mississippi. The technique that was used and the manner in which this was achieved is reprehensible.

With Friends Like These, Who Needs Liberals?

As we pointed out last week (see: http://t.co/y8T64iZQyR), there were several potentially illegal political games afoot in Mississippi to motivate Democrat voters to “switch” over to the GOP for a day to help save a 42 year Republican member of Congress. On top of that, millions of dollars from out of state liberal billionaires like Mike Bloomberg poured in at the last minute on that same incumbent’s behalf. You have to ask yourself why? When a primary election is lost fairly, I am all for unifying behind the victor and joining forces to fight in November. When an election is questionable, with potential legal violations, politics MUST be put aside and the irregularities MUST be fully investigated. Regardless of party, we owe it to voters and to democracy within our Republic. The integrity of the vote speaks directly to the integrity of those who serve and the trust we ask the American public to put in our institutions. I told Chris McDaniel last night that I stand with his effort to get to the bottom of this – he needs to know average, but tremendously concerned, citizens want to make sure the integrity of last night’s results in Mississippi are verified. Voting shenanigans never cease to amaze, but they had better cease altogether for the sake of ethical elections. And any GOP “architect” behind these abhorrent voting shenanigans should be ashamed of this Pyrrhic victory for the establishment. If we find out it’s true that some of the characters alleged to have masterminded this Mississippi hijacking are the same ones who’ve tried to destroy other Republicans’ careers, they need to be taken to task and only be hired by unethical campaigns. Fool us once, shame on you; fool us twice, shame on us. And if any news organization ignores a free and fair elections issue like this, than whether left-leaning or center right, their silence will speak volumes.

As a Mississippian, I have lost all faith in my state’s Republican Party. As regular readers know, I have gone after the out-of-touch National GOP Establishment incessantly, bestowing upon them the title of “Vichy Republicans”. However, in my naiveté, it never occurred to me that a politician from the Magnolia State, where we pride ourselves on our gentlemanly manners and Christian upbringing, could be just a big a cold-hearted snake as the spineless Speaker of the House and that product of Chicago Backroom Politics, the fallen messiah in the White House.

Brother,was I wrong.

So, don’t come begging to me and my fellow Conservative Mississippi Republicans for “unity” this November, Senator Cochran. After last night, it will probably fall on deaf ears.

The Petulant President’s Pathetic Patent Office Ploy

Redskins1In the middle of both his Domestic and Foreign Policies swirling down the ol’ porcelain receptacle, President Barack Hussein Obama, through his Commerce Secretary , Penny Pritzker, instructed the United States Patent Office, under the leadership of Director Michelle Lee ( the Former Google.com Executive, (not the wonderful multi-talented actress), to pull the trademark rights of the Washington Redskins.

The 99-page decision by the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board claims that the team’s name and logo are disparaging. It dilutes the Redskins’ legal protection against infringement and hinders the team’s ability to block counterfeit merchandise from entering the country.

During an interview conducted the first week of October, Obama remarked.

If I were the owner of the team and I knew that there was a name of my team — even if it had a storied history — that was offending a sizeable group of people, I’d think about changing it.

This petulant act was no doubt, triggered by a letter which Redskins President, Bruce Allen, sent to Democrat Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, who has been leading the stupid campaign to force the ‘Skins to change their time-honored name for the sake of Political Correctness, on behalf of the Obama Administration and the rest of “the smartest people in the room”.

The Washington Times reported in May, that the letter told Dinghy Harry that

… his efforts to orchestrate a campaign to force a team name change were misguided and failed to recognize the name’s “deep and personal meaning.”

“I hope you will attend one of our home games, where you would witness first-hand that the Washington Redskins are a positive, unifying force for our community in a city and region that is divided on so many levels,” team President Bruce Allen wrote Mr. Reid.

The letter offered several rebuttals to arguments that Mr. Reid and other Democratic senators made in a letter earlier this week asking the NFL to force the team to change its name because they considered it racially offensive.

Mr. Allen argued the Redskins‘ name “originated as a Native American expression of solidarity” and that the team logo was designed by Native Americans in 1971.

He also noted that 90 percent of Americans in one poll didn’t find the team name offensive, and that an Associated Press survey earlier this year found 83 percent of Americans supported keeping the team name.

“What policy or issue generates 83 percent to 90 percent support is this era of negativity and division?” he asked.

The team also played up its recent charitable efforts through a new foundation that in just two months has funded 40 projects to help Native Americans. “It is our mission to help tackle the troubling realities facing so many tribes across our country,” Mr. Allen wrote.

Rightscoop.com reports that Constitutional Lawyer and Conservative Radio Talk Show Hose Mark Levin wants to correct all the misconceptions, concerning the Patent Office’s action:

Levin argues that despite the Obama administration ruling, the Redskins still own their name and logo and still own the use of their name and logo because of Common Law. And if you try and use their name and logo, Levin says the Redskins will sue you and will win because there is not a court in the land that won’t uphold Common Law.

An AP-Gfk Poll was conducted from April 11-April 15, 2014. Of  1,004 adults, 79% favored keeping the name, 11% think it should be changed, while 8% weren’t sure and 2% didn’t answer.

So, why is Obama and his Administration going through with this Quixotic Quest now,while even his old buddy, NBC’s Chuck Todd, said yesterday that the “Obama Presidency is over”?

Rush Limbaugh explained the Administration’s reason for Stripping the trademark rights from the Redskins:

This is an abject, total power play. This is the administration illustrating what it can do. It simply… Look, Snyder [the Team Owner] does not donate to Democrat causes. He might a little to even it out, but Snyder is known, if anything, as a Republican, and he does position himself very stubbornly. “I’m never changing this name,” he said. “Never.” Well, you don’t tell a tyrant “never.” You don’t tell a statist or an authoritarian “never.”

You don’t tell somebody who thinks he has all the power over everybody “never.” So I think this is somewhat personal now, because the end result of this action puts the name “Redskins” everywhere, and you would think that’s not what they want. If you really buy into what they’re doing, you would think they want to wipe out the name so it’s not used by anybody, but this action would result in it everywhere.

So this is nothing more than a classic illustration of who this administration really is. They’ve targeted an enemy and it happens to be Dan Snyder, and maybe secondarily the NFL. But it’s Dan Snyder they’re gunning for here, and they’re not gonna stop. The Regime is not gonna stop until they make him change that name. It’s just flexing of the muscle. This is just pure, raw power on display.

On April 9th, in a post titled “The New Fascism”, I wrote

Ladies and gentlemen, I firmly believe that America is now fighting a new war against fascism.

It’s not a war that is being fought with guns and bullets, But instead with state referendums, Congressional votes, executive orders, and judicial activism.

And, it’s not our best and brightest who are dying on this field of battle, but rather, it is our Constitutional Freedoms which are dying an ignoble death, pierced by the arrows of socialism and political correctness.

By now, there’s some out there in the audience saying, “Oh Lord, the crazy old cracker’s overreacting again.”

No, Skippy, I’m not.

And, Lord, I hate it when I’m right.

Down Goes Cantor!: Aftershocks

Yesterday, the Media, Old and New, was abuzz over the unprecedented loss by House Majority Leader, Eric Canter, in the Republican Primary in the state of Virginia.

From the whining heard from the leaders of both political parties, you would have thought that something criminal had occurred.

And then…all the theories and conjecture started.

Both the Liberals and the Vichy Republicans (but, I repeat myself) began to “Palinize” Economics Professor Dave Brat, six ways from Sunday, showing the entire country that they were scared spitless by his unforeseen victory over the Majority Leader.

All of the tall tales told yesterday would mike a fisherman blush.

For example, Liberals were claiming that Cantor’s Loss was a vote against Jewish Politicians.

Bull. It was a vote against a RINO….a politician who had forgotten who put him in office.

As Rush Limbaugh explained yesterday,

…folks, when it comes to the Cantor election, I’m not gonna sit here and arrogantly tell you that I know why it happened.

Like everybody else, I have some pretty good educated guesses. But I’ll tell you what I do know. I do know that congressman Cantor had ceased to be perceived as having his own district in mind as he did things. He clearly had become an agent of the inside-the-Beltway establishment, and I’m telling you: The divide, the gap, the distance between the elite establishment and average Americans has never been greater.

And Congressman Cantor was seen as part of that very small yet powerful group of elites in the establishment to whom what happens in the rest of the country is not even known, nor is there much concern for it. You know, this border business. As I say, if they were serious about securing the border, if they really thought that that’s all they had to do to get support for amnesty, then they’d be out there doing it.

They’d be stopping these kids, however this is happening. But, no! We’re letting ’em in, we’re depositing them in military bases, in bus stations. The next thing to come is their parents. People can figure this out. I think it’s no more complicated than this: People have less and less respect for and use for Washington, the whole thing. Republicans, Democrats, the administration, the administrative state, the regulatory state, the bureaucracy, the FDA, the IRS, all of this.

People are fed up. They’re fed up with lobbyists. They’re fed up with the Chamber of Commerce. They’re fed up with all these media pundit celebrities who also don’t know what they’re talking about, who have no idea what life is really like for most people in this country and don’t seem to really care. That’s what people are fed up with.

Senator Ted Cruz broke it down even farther on Glenn Beck’s Program yesterday…

Last night was a stunning election result. The results of last night are reverberating throughout the Capitol and throughout the Congress,” Cruz said. “Eric Cantor is a good man, a smart, capable man, but people across the country are fed up with what’s happening in Washington. And they are fed up with the federal government growing and growing and growing, with our national debt getting bigger and bigger and bigger, and with politicians of both parties not listening to the people who elected them.”

While Democrats in Congress and the mainstream media are already trying to paint Brat as an extremist, right-wing Tea Party-type, Glenn asked Cruz how much an upset like this effects the psyche of those in D.C.

“How scared are these guys,” Glenn asked.

“Washington, D.C. didn’t want to listen. The fight to make D.C. listen is not an easy fight. There’s a reason people job are in power 20, 30 years. They hold on to power, use a lot of money, and they use the entrenched force to try to hold onto it,” Cruz said. “But I’ll tell you things like last night get their attention. Things like the Mississippi Senate race get their attention.”

“I’ve said many times… I think the biggest divide we have in this country is not between Republicans and Democrats. It is between entrenched politicians in Washington, in both parties and the American people,” Cruz explained. “We’ve got to get the people to rise up and demand that we get back to basic common sense principle, that we get back to living within our means, not bankrupting the country, following the Constitution, restoring America’s leadership in the world. These are basic principles of who we are.”

“Will Washington demagogue anyone standing up for that and call them an extremist? Yes, that’s what Washington does,” he continued. “Who cares? We need to focus on energizing and mobilizing the American people to bring our nation back to the first principles of liberty and the Constitution that have made America strong in the first place.”

Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, Establishment Republicans, Moderates, all of these out-of-touch imbeciles, are having a problem: They are stuck in a reverse-Midas situation. Everything they touch turns into garbage.

The president’s poll numbers are in a free-fall, as his Smart Power! Foreign Policy, which led to the release of 5 murderous Muslim Terrorists for one deserting traitor, appears to the public to have all of the well-thought out logistics of a Three Stooges short. …as al Qaeda takes back over Iraq. (Hey, Moe! Nyuk, nyuk!)

Meanwhile, his domestic policies have resulted in 1/6th of Americans being on Food Stamps and a horrible employment situation, as Americans watch the Mexican Munchkin Migration continuesto overwhelm our Government Agencies, as they suspiciously pour across our Southern Borders.

So, as their political reality begins to collapse around them, all “the smartest people in the room from the Halls of Power, on down to Internet Chat Boards,  have left are ad hominem attacks, or, name-calling.

Like the bully on the playground, whose false bravado masks a deeply-set insecurity, all of these “soooper geniuses” (with apologies to Wile E. Coyote) spent yesterday lashing out at Dave Brat,  the Tea Party Movement, and the rest of Conservatives, in an attempt to protect their phony-baloney jobs, their acquired power, their failed political ideology, and the status quo. All of their carefully crafted schemes and long-term plans are turning to ash in their hands, as Christopher Lee did at the end of  the classic Hammer Films Production,  “The Horror of Dracula”.

On July 16, 1964, American Senator Barry Goldwater said the following during his speech accepting the Republican presidential nomination:

Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And…moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!

And, if you go further back in American History, I suppose that these namby-pamby passive-aggressive Progressives would have labeled our Founding Fathers as Extremists, also. Lord knows, they said some pretty Extreme things. Like Patrick Henry, who said:

Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!

Is wanting a fiscally responsible Federal Government an act of Extremism? No. Therefore:

Brace yourselves for an Electoral Tsunami This November.

The Demeaning of the Presidency: Obama Appears on “Between Two Ferns”. Hilarity Does Not Ensue.

Obama and Founding FathersThe 44th President of the United States appeared on a supposed-to-be-comedic interview show on the Internet, yesterday.

Foxnews.com reports that

The White House is defending President Obama’s snarky appearance on comedian Zach Galifianakis’ mock-interview show “Between Two Ferns,” touting it as a creative, effective way to promote ObamaCare to young adults.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney claimed Tuesday that the video was the “number one referral” to HealthCare.gov the morning it was released online. He said he believes the “viral” video will be a big factor in getting young people to visit the website and explore coverage.

Asked whether Obama’s appearance on the “show” was beneath the office of the president, Carney said he did not think so, saying “we made the right call here.”

Obama delivered both jabs and a plug for the law in the episode, which was filmed two weeks ago and released online Tuesday. Galifianakis is known for putting his interview subjects in awkward positions and passive-aggressively insulting them in the “Funny or Die” web series.

Galifianakis began by asking Obama if he was planning on pardoning another turkey for Thanksgiving in 2014. Obama said yes and then asked Galifianakis if it was depressing for him to see a turkey “taken out of circulation” that he “couldn’t eat.”

Galifianakis responded by asking if after Obama sent “Ambassador Rodman” to North Korea, he would send Hulk Hogan to Syria or if that was more a job for Tonya Harding.

He also asked Obama what it is like being the “last black president,” and if Obama is sad that when he leaves the White House people will stop letting him win at basketball. Obama responded by asking Galifianakis what it is like to have a “three-inch vertical.”

When Galifianakis asked if he would run for a third term, Obama told him it would be like the third “Hangover” movie — probably not a good idea.

Obama then touted his health care overhaul, asking Galifianakis if he had heard of HealthCare.gov and insisting it “works great now.” He then told a seemingly bored Galifianakis how young people can get covered for what it costs to “pay their cell phone bill” every month.

“Is this what they mean by drones?” Galifianakis asked.

The White House has engaged in numerous pushes recently to get young Americans to sign up for health care, including a video featuring YouTube stars released last week.

Rush Limbaugh, per usual, has a pretty insightful take on the circumstances of Obama’s appearance on this second-rate web program, that reminded me of the old Public Access Cable Shows that I used to Direct back in the 1980s…

Now, if you wonder why people are losing respect for the president — and I think people are. I think what’s happening here is actually devastating to the office, and it began with Bill Clinton. It began with Bill Clinton. There was an arrest and a restoration when George W. Bush was there, but the office of the presidency has taken a big hit dignity-wise. And with Obama constantly on TV and constantly campaigning and making jokes and yuk yuks about inconsequential things, but doing it to build a bond between himself and the lowest-common-denominator voters, the low-information voters, it’s an unseemly, sad thing.

So he shows up on this show called Funny or Die. Funny or Die is the website. The show is Between Two Ferns. I have a couple sound bites from this show that I guess came from this morning. Now, this is a guy who doesn’t have time for national security meetings. He doesn’t have time to get a briefing from a CIA guy, doesn’t have time for all that, but he’ll go do something like this. This is a six-minute skit, and like every other guest, he gets insulted by the host. It’s a parody, it’s a joke, everybody’s in on it, you know what’s gonna happen when you show up. Nobody’s blindsided.

The whole purpose of this was to plug HealthCare.gov. The whole reason for going on this show, because this is supposedly what the low-information crowd has glommed onto now. If I were Jon Stewart, I’d be worried ’cause this is currently what’s hip, this show.

…Now, remember, Obama’s in on this. He knows full well what he’s doing. He’s not purposely being insulted. (interruption) Well, that’s the thing. Pick any president you have respect for, put ’em in this. I know it’s a changing world, folks. I know the media’s constantly expanding, but there are just certain things that presidents never deigned to take a step down and do. So here is this guy openly mocking Obama with Obama’s permission, and it’s all to celebrate and to promote HealthCare.gov.

Now, I just saw a tweet, a tweet just went out saying that the majority of sign-ups to HealthCare.gov today are coming from this show. Whoever tweeted it out meant it as a compliment. Whoever tweeted it out meant to say that this was a home run performance by the president, that there are all kinds of people now going to HealthCare.gov to sign up, like we believe this. I don’t, by the way. You know what I believe? I believe the number of cancellations. And you know what that number is? It’s well up to six and a half million people.

Six and a half million real people have had their insurance plans canceled despite these delays, despite putting off the implementation, six and a half million people have had their insurance canceled. Some of them are cancer patients. Some of them are really sick. Some of them aren’t, but some of them are. I don’t believe the number they claim to sign up. There wouldn’t be the panic. Look, if this were going great guns you wouldn’t have Democrat senator after Democrat senator running away from it. The Democrats that are up for reelection are running as far away from HealthCare.gov and Obamacare as they can. And some of them are making no bones about it.

Some of them are actively campaigning against Obamacare, Democrats are, Democrat senators up for reelection. There’s nobody that can make me believe that whatever is happening with Obamacare, HealthCare.gov, is good and overwhelmingly optimistic and growing by leaps and bounds. You want to tell me that appearing with this kind of an interview on this show spawned and inspired massive visits to HealthCare.gov, massive enrollment?

Strains credulity, doesn’t it?

Just like Obama’s overall performance as United States President.

From the moment he walked into the Oval Ofrfice, his focus has been on erasing any trace of American Exceptionalism.

He has done this through his Domestic Policies, designed to stifle individuality and ambition and his Foreign Policy, “Smart Power”, through which he has insulted and demeaned our longtime allies, and embraced our enemies, who wish to kill all of us “infidels”, to the point where he is seemingly so naive, he cannot even see when they are playing him for a fool on the world stage, which reflects on our standing as a World Power.

Of course, his policies are an extension of his own work ethic (or. lack thereof). I mean, he saunters over to the Oval Office at 10:00 a.m. (when he is not on vacation), shirtsleeves rolled up, collar open, acting like he’s going to a poker game with the boys, instead of leading the Free World.

That is in stark contrast to the crack of dawn, shirt, tie, and jacket professional work ethic of President Ronald Reagan and both President Bushes.

So, is Obama intentionally trying to demean the United States of America and the office of the Presidency?

Well, he was seen in New York City yesterday, at the Gap Clothing Store, looking at a pink sweater.

Perhaps, Ukraine should just go ahead and surrender now.

The Ukrainian Invasion: The Collapse of “Smart Power!”…A Return From Fantasyland

obamaputincartoonThe Russian Bear, Vladimir Putin, continues his quest to reclaim the former Soviet Bloc nation of  Ukraine, while Barack “Urkel” Obama continues to warn him against doing what he has already done.

The Washington Times reports that

President Obama warned Russia on Monday of possible U.S. sanctions over its military land grab in Ukraine, but Moscow brushed aside international threats, tightening its stranglehold on Crimea and calling audaciously for a national unity government in Kiev.

In Washington, Mr. Obama said the world is “largely united” against Russia’s military action and he is considering economic and diplomatic steps that would gradually isolate Russia. He criticized the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin for being “on the wrong side of history.”

“What cannot be done is for Russia with impunity to put its soldiers on the ground and violate basic principles that are recognized around the world,” Mr. Obama said. “Over time, this will be a costly proposition for Russia.”

But the U.S. and European Union floundered for solutions — while global markets panicked over the prospect of violent upheaval in the heart of Europe. Fears grew that the Kremlin might carry out more land grabs in pro-Russian eastern Ukraine, or elsewhere in the former Soviet Union, adding urgency to Western efforts to defuse the crisis.

Secretary of State John F. Kerry was heading to Kiev in an expression of support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, and the EU threatened a raft of punitive measures as it called an emergency summit on Ukraine for Thursday. In Congress, lawmakers prepared to move on an aid package for Ukraine.

But it was Russia that appeared to be driving the agenda.

Russian troops are invading Ukraine and we have no response. I suppose the Pentagon has more important things to worry about – like hair and makeup for our gay military.

According to World Net Daily, “Almost seven decades after being the scene of one of the most ferocious and protracted battles of World War II – a site of legendary valor and sacrifice on the part of American soldiers – some U.S. service personnel stationed in Okinawa today are treating the world to another kind of display: Gay and lesbian service personnel performing in drag, to raise funds for their activities, to a sellout audience.

Openly homosexual service members at Okinawa’s Kadena Air Base took to the stage and performed as “drag queens” and “drag kings” Saturday on a military installation in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender troops.

In September 2011, on the implementation of the repeal of the Clinton-era Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, President Obama said: “I was proud to sign the Repeal Act into law last December because I knew that it would enhance our national security, increase our military readiness, and bring us closer to the principles of equality and fairness that define us as Americans.” However, the latest reports show that the rate of sexual assaults, and especially male-on-male sexual assaults, in the U.S. military has skyrocketed.

It’s obvious what defines “vital national security interest” in the Obama administration. A week ago Obama announced the decimation of our military – maybe that’s why these troops got their groove on.

I am kinda at a loss for words, but quite sure there are those of you who can fill in the blanks.

The Godfather of Conservative Talk Radio, Rush Limbaugh, was not at a loss for words yesterday. He sums up this whole ugly never-ending Benny Hill Chase Scene (to the background theme of “Yakety Sax By Boots Randolph) rather succinctly:

These are scary, scary times — and one of these days, Putin is gonna figure out that American public opinion does not have the same impact today that it had back in the seventies and eighties. He’s gonna figure out, if he doesn’t already know, that American public opinion has been dumbed down and refocused. America’s now focused on, “Should we be penalizing players 15 yards or kick ’em out of the game for using the N-word in the NFL?” The American people are focused on, “Can gay couples buy a cake from a non-gay baker or not?”

In fact, you probably have heard this by now. Sarah Palin, back in 2008, predicted and warned that Russia was gonna take Ukraine. She was laughed at. She was mocked and made fun of because, of course, that was the narrative. Sarah Palin never said was she an expert on the Soviet Union ’cause she could see it from her backyard. Tina Fey said that in a comedy sketch. Palin never said it, yet it was attributed to her.

Romney, I remember this in a presidential debate like it was yesterday. Probably the second debate, Romney is warning of Russia as our number one geopolitical enemy, and Obama is sitting there and mocking him and laughing at him and making fun of him like he can’t believe what he just heard and everybody knows it’s Al-Qaeda. And look at what’s happening here. All the people who’ve been insulted as dumb and stupid and idiotic and don’t know what they’re talking about are being borne out. There were people — I’ll leave myself out of this — there were people eight years ago warning that Putin existed to rebuild the Soviet Union. The Washington establishment hemmed and hawed and huffed and puffed and laughed, said nothing could be further from the truth. The best and the brightest had no clue.

Now, by the way, Russia and the ChiComs are aligning. They have discovered geopolitical interests that meld together and one of those geopolitical interests is opposition to us. Then you’ve got the ChiComs and the Japanese on the verge of a major conflict. I don’t think too many people are aware of that. So these are heavyweight times, and we’ve got a lot of people dazed and confused and just, in addition to dazed and confused, entirely misinformed. They happen to be our leaders at the moment.

Yes sir. These are “heavyweight  times”.

And, we have a lightweight sitting in the Oval Office as “the Leader of the Free World”.

Yesterday, even Obama’s sycophants, The Washington Post, had to admit that Obama’s “Smart Power!” is a work of fiction:

FOR FIVE YEARS, President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on reality.

Unfortunately for our nation, Obama’s Fantasy Land, where “Smart Power!” reigned, has led to a failure of Foreign Policy, and the birth of a Nightmarish Reality of a purposefully-weakened national image and cross-dressing military.

Sochi Olympics: NBC, the National Bolshevik Channel, Praises Putin and Russia

NBC, the Broadcast Network which brought into our homes American Legends Bob Hope, Johnny Carson David Brinkley, and John Chancellor, is now singing the praises of the ideology of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin.

During NBC’s Thursday Night Coverage of the Sochi Olympics, the insufferable Bob Costas said,

Just in the past year, Putin brokered a deal to allow Syria to avoid a U.S. military strike by giving up its chemical weapons…And helped bring Iran to the negotiating table over its nuclear intentions.

The pro-Stalinist Propaganda Canmpaign of the National Bolshevik Channel continued last night, with these words of narration,

The towering presence, the empire that ascended to affirm a colossal footprint. The revolution that birthed one of modern history’s pivotal experiments. During his nationally syndicated radio program yesterday, Rush Limbaugh said,

Why is everybody surprised that NBC News would laud praise over a Soviet KGB leader, when they are his prisoner for two weeks as the televising network? Besides that, there’s not that much ideological difference anyway. People are apparently upset that Costas referred to Putin as a peacemaker. Folks, that’s right. What do you think liberals think of communists? They’re blood brothers!

The communists were the peacemakers.

We were the problem.

We were the ones stirring the drink. We were the ones stirring things up. We were the threat. Reagan’s finger was on the nuclear button. We were always the problem; Gorbachev was always the solution. So here comes Putin, and he’s a tough guy, and he’s being called a peacemaker around the world. That’s not a stretch. I got people coming to this realization. I guess it may be a bit of a positive. It may not. For me, it’s unsurprising.

As usual, El Rushbo was exactly right.

NBC’s anti-American point-of-view has been extremely obvious for the past several years.

For example, I related the following on June 20, 2011:

Yesterday, on Father’s day 2011, NBC utilized their impeccable taste and creative skills to put together what they perceived as an electrifying, patriotic opening for the United States Open Golf Championship.

The opening featured a reading of the Pledge of Allegiance by a group of children in a classroom.

That would have been enough to stir the patriotic soul of even the most callous observer, right?

Wrong!

It stirred up Americans’ sense of Patriotism, alright. The idiots at NBC edited out the phrase UNDER GOD!

This is what viewers of the golf tournament heard:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, with liberty and justice for all.

And once was not enough for NBC. They did it twice!

The kids actually recited the pledge two times. NBC edited the second version to not only leave out UNDER GOD, but ONE NATION, as well.

To say that Americans got stirred up is probably an understatement. Immediately, viewers took to Twitter and internet comment boards, calling NBC “scumbugs” and pledging to boycott the network.

Of course, once they realized that the overwhelming majority of America’s did not appreciate their selective editing, NBC tried to feebly apologize.

By now, some of you may be thinking that NBC leaving God out of the Pledge of Allegiance and their praising of Putin and Communism have nothing to do with one another.

As the late great Ed McMahon, an employee of NBC, would phrase it,

You are NOT correct, sir!

On March 8, 1983, the greatest United States President in my lifetime, Ronald Wilson Reagan, during a speech now known as the “Evil Empire Speech”,  which he gave before the National Association of Evangelicals,  said,

During my first press conference as president, in answer to a direct question, I pointed out that, as good Marxist-Leninists, the Soviet leaders have openly and publicly declared that the only morality they recognize is that which will further their cause, which is world revolution. I think I should point out I was only quoting Lenin, their guiding spirit, who said in 1920 that they repudiate all morality that proceeds from supernatural ideas–that’s their name for religion–or ideas that are outside class conceptions. Morality is entirely subordinate to the interests of class war. And everything is moral that is necessary for the annihilation of the old exploiting social order and for uniting the proletariat.

And because it knows no limitation, it must terrify and ultimately triumph over those who would enslave their fellow man. Unfortunately, even with the demise of the old Soviet Union, the shadow of Communism still looms over Russia. 

However, I, like Ronaldus Magnus did, believe that they, as every other unjust and tyrannical unjust government has been, will be overthrown by men and women yearning to be free from oppression’s shackles.

Because God is still in control…whether the communists ruling Russia, and their lackeys at NBC and “the smartest people in the room” choose to believe in Him or not.

Obama Declares Himself Big Kahuna… Announces He Will Rule By Royal Diktat

On May 5, 2013 U.S. President Barack Obama gave the commencement address to the graduating class of The Ohio State University at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Here is an excerpt:

Unfortunately, you’ve grown up hearing voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s at the root of all our problems. Some of these same voices also do their best to gum up the works. They’ll warn that tyranny always lurking just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, and creative, and unique experiment in self-rule is somehow just a sham with which we can’t be trusted.

We have never been a people who place all our faith in government to solve our problems. We shouldn’t want to. But we don’t think the government is the source of all our problems, either. Because we understand that this democracy is ours. And as citizens, we understand that it’s not about what America can do for us, it’s about what can be done by us, together, through the hard and frustrating but absolutely necessary work of self-government. And class of 2013, you have to be involved in that process. 

In other words,

Who are you gonna believe? Me…or your lyin’ eyes?

I wrote earlier this week about President Obama announcing that if Congress would not “work with him” (i.e., do things his way) , he would go around them and rule by diktat…err…Executive Orders.

You know what? I’ve got a phone and I’ve got a pen, and all I need to do is a bunch of executive orders and a bunch of executive actions, and I can take care of the it. I can take care of the inequality. I can take care of the unfairness. I don’t need Congress! I’m tired of waiting on Congress; I’m just gonna go do it.”

Well…yesterday, he met with Senate Democrats and gave them the same message.

President Barack Obama has told Senate Democrats he plans to use his executive authority to act in 2014 when Congress stands in his way.

Obama met with senators from his own party Wednesday at the White House. The White House says Obama and Democrats discussed proposals to raise the minimum wage and efforts to pass a comprehensive immigration overhaul. Education initiatives and jobs measures were also on the agenda.

The White House says Obama wants to work with Congress to make progress, but will also act on his own to get things done.

The meeting was the first such session of 2014 and comes two weeks before Obama is set to deliver his State of the Union address.

The senators left the White House without speaking to reporters.

I’ll just bet they did.

On his nationally syndicated radio program yesterday, the Godfather of Conservative Talk Radio, Maha Rushie, himself, spoke about Obama’s “Independence Proclamation”:

Executive orders to make things fair. He can do executive orders and executive actions to get rid of the unfairness. He’s gonna make this lousy country finally fair! … He’s got these Republicans standing in his way. “Okay, I’m gonna just start writing executive orders. “To hell with it! I’m gonna finally make everything fair.” Now, he might have a pen, and he might have a phone, but what he does not have is the constitutional power to run this country like a dictator…

…He’s a constitutional lawyer, and he should know better. But he doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about the Constitution. The Constitution is an impediment to Obama. The Constitution is not something to be respected — and it’s not just Obama, by the way. It’s to the vast majority of the intellectual, leftist elite. They really detest the Constitution, because it thwarts them. Some of you may not know this, but the United States Constitution was written to limit government power.

The US Constitution’s first 10 amendments specifically limit government’s power. Well, that’s not cool if you’re Obama or any of today’s liberal Democrats. That, to you, is shackles. They call that “a charter of negative liberties.” Stop and think of that. A document founded in the belief, the proclamation, the declaration, the primacy of individual liberty and freedom is considered “a charter of negative liberties.”

It’s something that gives the people individual primacy and freedom — and, to the left, that’s negative — and the reason they call it “a charter of negative liberties” is because it limits government. They don’t like that, and that’s what Obama was talking about, “You know, the heck with it!”

…Violating the Constitution — there’s no question about this, folks. It’s just a matter of whether people in power and who have the authority to do so want to stop it. Because if nobody’s gonna stop Obama, he’s gonna be able to keep doing it.

Per usual, Rush is right. Obama views himself as a crusader…and the smartest person in the room. Unfortunately for us Americans, he is neither.

Thomas Jefferson had some thoughts on the subject of tyranny:

Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.

About that second quote: Perhaps the reason that 3 Congressional Democrats have retired in one week, and those Democrat Senators left their meeting with His Highness without saying a mumblin’ word, is the fact that Democratic Congresscritters with any common sense left, realize that the American People will not tolerate a tyrant who bypasses the System of Checks and Balances, which our Founders so wisely established to secure the continued existence of our country.

Democrats realize that the knockout blow that is coming with the Mid-Term Elections in  2014 will make 2010 look like a slap on the wrist.

Obama and Obamacare: The Worst is Yet to Come

obamacaremoeIf you surf the Internet over to the “Healthcare Overview Page” of whitehouse.gov. , you will find the following promises concerning the Affordable care Act, unaffectionately known as Obamacare:

For those Americans who already have health insurance, the only changes you will see under the law are new benefits, better protections from insurance company abuses, and more value for every dollar you spend on health care. If you like your plan you can keep it and you don’t have to change a thing due to the health care law. The President addressed concerns from Americans who have received letters of policy cancellations or changes from their insurance companies in an interview with NBC News, watch the video or read a transcript.

For the uninsured or those who don’t get their coverage through work, a key component of the Affordable Care Act will take effect on October 1, when the new Health Insurance Marketplace open[s] for business, allowing millions of Americans to comparison shop for a variety of quality, affordable plans that best meet their health care needs.

…The law helps you by bringing down health care costs and making sure your health care dollars are spent wisely. Insurance companies will now be accountable to their customers for how they are spending premium dollars, and how much they are raising rates. Plus, the new law will help lower costs through new tax credits and new marketplaces where insurers will have to compete for your business.

As Americans found out a long time ago, all of President Barack Hussein Obama’s promises have expiration dates.

In the past, he and his Administration have been able to spin and obfuscate these broken promises to their advantage.

NOT THIS TIME.

Not even the Obama Administration can hide the disastrous roll-out of Obama’s Signature Legislation, Obamacare.

At 2:30 p.m. Central Yesterday, the official numbers were released via conference call by Secretary of Health and Human Services, Nurse Ratched, err…I mean Kathleen Sibelius.

That’s okay, Madame Secretary. If I were you, I wouldn’t show my face in public, either. This Administration needs a scapegoat to throw under the bus and you appear to be the next on the list.

According to Sebelius, 106, 185 Amercans successfully selected Obamacare through the exchanges. However you have to remember that number includes those Americans who simple chjose a plan and put it in their “cart” on the website, but never actually bought a plan.

Of that number, only 26,794 came through HealthCare.gov, the federal exchange site that serves 36 states. 79,391 came from state websites.

As bad as this news is, things are going to get much, much worse. Rush Limbaugh explains…

…right now, that’s the only thing affected is individual policies. Nevertheless, even though that limited number of people is affected, that limited number of people is causing all of this havoc. The other shoe to drop in 2014 is when this I same thing starts happening to people who get their health care at work. We’re not talking about employer-provided coverage here yet. That shoe doesn’t drop until next year. Right now, it’s just the individual insurance market that’s being affected by the exchanges.

It’s just the individuals who are unable to keep the plan they like. Wait until everybody who’s insured by their boss begins to lose their plan! That happens in January of next year. Then all hell is gonna break loose because then we’re talking about the vast majority of the people in this country. Admittedly, folks, the individual insurance market is not the major part of it. I mean, how many of you…? Let me just ask you the question. How many of you have a health insurance policy, or had, that you went out and bought yourself?

Show of hands. Let me see. Probably two out of 10 people. The vast majority of people get their health insurance at work, and none of this impacted them. They haven’t lost their plans yet. They haven’t had their plans taken away from ’em. Their premiums and all that stuff hasn’t gone up yet. That doesn’t happen in the employer-provided market until January. Now, wait until 80% of people with health insurance start being impacted by Obamacare, and it’s gonna make what’s happening now look like Romper Room.

See, if you get your insurance at work as an employee benefit, none of what’s being discussed here really has impacted you yet. About the only way it has is maybe you’ve been converted to part time. You may have lost your health insurance at work because your company can’t stay in business with the new rules. But for those of you who still get health insurance at work — and there’s one exception, talked about it yesterday. If your company is self-insured none of this is gonna matter to you until they get around to fixing it so that you do get hurt by it.

Right now the self-insured market is not impacted by any of this. There aren’t any rules or restrictions in the self-insured market. And again, the self-insured market is when your boss, your company, just pays for your health care directly, without an insurance policy. They set aside the same amount of money to insure everybody that works there. An employee goes to the doctor, has to get an operation, the company pays the hospital directly, the doctor directly, not an insurance company. That’s called self-insure. And Obamacare doesn’t touch them. Republicans got a carve-out for that. Now the Democrats are trying to fix that.

So the only way that you who have your insurance through your boss will not be impacted in January is if your company self-insures, and I don’t know how many it is.

…Most people are insured at work. Wait ’til they start losing their policies. Wait ’til they lose their plans that they like. We’re talking tons and tons of people. That’s the other shoe to drop in 2014. Nobody’s brought it up yet. I just want you to have a heads-up.

5 million Americans have lost their health insurance policies already as a result of Obamacare. 5 million.  

Before another American is hurt by this disastrous attempt at socializing America’s Healthcare System, it needs to end…now.  Senator Ted Cruz has been right, all along.

Repeal Obamacare now….before more Americans suffer.

Election Aftermath: The Tea Party/Reagan Conservatives Vs. Liberals on Both “Sides of the Aisle”

McCainObamaMay I ask y’all something?  Whose side are the Beltway Republicans on?  You know who I’m talking about.  The I’m smarter-than-you, reach-across-the aisle RINOs, whose go along to get along embracing of Liberalism resulted in the 2006 election of the worst Congress in history and the horrible first two years of this national nightmare called the Obama Presidency.

I’m not just talking about politicians.  I’m also talking about the squishy national so-called Conservative Pundits, whose Conservatism bends to the Left with the prevailing D.C. political winds.

In Tuesday’s Election, the divide between these Vichy Republicans and the Conservative Base of the Republican Party, was made clearly evident, by their unflagging support for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, RINO Extraordinaire, and their lack of support for Virginia Gubernatorial Republican Candidate, Ken Cuccinelli.

Rush Limbaugh nails it, per usual.

Cuccinelli was supposed to lose this thing in a landslide. He ended up losing it by one to two percent. So it fits the Clinton model to a T. Bagman candidate, third-party candidate that’s a bogus placeholder, to siphon off votes, and it worked like a charm. But the details coming out of Virginia are even more frustrating and maddening than that. Even though they were predicted, it’s still frustrating to see it happen.

And I must tell you, folks, I’ve got audio sound bites here, I’m somewhat surprised, because in a series of these sound bites the Drive-By Media is not all that ecstatic over what happened in Virginia. I mean, they’re not looking at it as a repudiation of the Tea Party ’cause they know that’s not what happened. You know who wants you to think it’s a repudiation of the Tea Party? The GOP establishment. There’s some fascinating numbers here. The Republican National Committee in 2009 in the gubernatorial race there for Bob McDonnell, the Republican National Committee spent three times as much money four years ago on the same race as they did this year.

They spent $1 million. That’s it. One million for Ken Cuccinelli. Their candidate. The Chamber of Commerce spent zero helping Cuccinelli. Cuccinelli begged Chris Christie to come in and campaign for him. Christie said no, he wasn’t gonna do it. The Chamber of Commerce spent a million dollars four years ago in the governor’s race in Virginia, as I say, not a dime on Cuccinelli. And here we go again. Just like Mitt Romney. Cuccinelli won independents by nine points, 47 to 38%.

Now, what have we been told collectively for decades by the media? Well, hell, by the political establishment? That is, “You need to win the independents. You can’t win without the independents.” That’s what they’ve all told us. And that has been part of a trick that the media and the Democrats launched to great success against the Republicans. The theory has always been that the Democrats are gonna get 80%, the Republicans are gonna get 80%, and then there’s that great unwashed in there, that 20%. And every political candidate has been approached by every political consultant and the consultant has said, “I’m the guy that can get you that 20% of the vote. I’m the guy that can get you the independents.” And what that did was make the Republicans abandon their base and campaign, rather than for everybody, the Republicans end up with a centrist, moderate, wimpy, linguine-spined campaign aimed at so-called independents, at 20%.

Cuccinelli didn’t, by the way. But in national elections, the Republicans end up making this move. They get talked into believing that you win the independents and you win. Well, Romney won the independents going away, and he lost, didn’t he? And Cuccinelli won the independents going away. He won independents by nine points, 47 to 38%. And you now know what they’re saying? “Well, the independents are different than the moderates.” Oh, that’s new now. Now that Republicans are running the independents, it isn’t any big deal anymore. No, now you don’t need the independents. Now you gotta go out and win the moderates.

Well, what is a moderate? Tell me, Snerdley, how would you, if somebody asked you to explain to ’em what a moderate is, what would you say? It’s a liberal without the guts to say so. A moderate is one of two things: a liberal that won’t admit it or somebody that waits to see which way the wind’s blowing and joins the crowd. By definition, a moderate isn’t passionate about anything. Can’t be. But now we gotta go after the moderates.

And there’s also another lesson that’s being said here by the Republican establishment. They’re looking at Christie, they’re looking at Cuccinelli, saying, “If Cuccinelli would have just been for amnesty, and if he woulda just moderated on the social issues, who knows, he coulda won. But we couldn’t support him when he didn’t.” It’s just absolutely obscene what’s happened here, if you ask me.

Beltway politicians and Pundits live in a bubble.  They have disassociated themselves from the common people.  The only time the Beltway Elite Republicans seem to pay attention to the wishes of Americans in the Heartland is when we melt the Congressional Phone Lines down and threaten their well-paying jobs. 

That’s why the rise of the Tea Party movement and America’s return to Conservatism, which resulted in the political massacre known as the Midterm Elections, was such a surprise to them.  In their self-imposed isolation, they actually thought that the America people wanted them to continue their deal-making, soul-selling, business-as-usual politics.

Now, Republicans are scrambling, trying to figure out how to appease an angry electorate and keep their cushy jobs, in the face of their mishandling of the catastrophe known as Obamacare and their support in the push for Amnesty for Illegal Aliens.  

Pundits are trying give them all the cover they can, while offering criticism in columns specifically written as to not cost the pundit their place on the Broadcast television networks’ Sunday morning shows or to cause them to be left off the invitation list for all the cool Beltway cocktail parties.

In summation, there is still an us and them mentality in the Beltway, even among the resurgent Republican Party.  If the Republicans don’t legislate as Conservatives, and ignore the message sent to them by American voters on November 2nd, 2010, it won’t matter if the Pundits praise them or criticize them, they will be out of a job.

After all, there is much more to America than just the Beltway.  And there are a lot more American voters than there are ” Severely Conservative” Politicians and Pundits.

The Vichy Republicans remind me of “Blazing Saddles”:

We must protect our phony baloney jobs, gentlemen! Hrumph!

The greatest U.S. President of our Generation, Ronald Wilson Reagan, once said,

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.

Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and other “Tea Party Republicans” seem to be willing to do just that.

If the old guard Vichy Republicans care more about their Capitol Hill way of life than their country and their constituents, then it is time for them to get out of the way, and allow Sen. Cruz, and his allies to lead the battle against this corrupt anti-American Administration.

Because, as the old saying goes,

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Countdown to the Shutdown

government shutdownHere we are. The day before the Government shuts down.

Yesterday, the House of Representative sent their modified Continuing Resolution back to the Senate.  This latest Continuing Resolution calls for delaying by a year, key parts of Obamacare and the repeal of a tax on medical devices, in exchange for avoiding a shutdown.

Here’s a big secret: The Government will not actually shutdown.

Social Security checks will not be interrupted. Troops will remain at their posts. Doctors and hospitals will get their Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements.

The fact of the matter is,virtually every essential government agency, like the FBI, the Border Patrol and the Coast Guard, will stay open. Furloughed federal workers probably would get paid, eventually. Transportation Security Administration officers would continue to man airport checkpoints.

The hitch is, sometime around late October or early November, the government might possibly run out of cash. If that were to happen, our government would be unable to pay all of its bills in full and on time for the first time in history if it couldn’t borrow more money.

Even though the Treasury Department probably would make interest payments to bondholders to prevent a catastrophic default on the debt, it wouldn’t be able to make other payments on time, which would mean delays in Social Security benefits and in paychecks for federal workers and troops in the field.

Congress must pass a temporary spending bill before Oct. 1, to prevent the “Shutdown”. To prevent a default, it must raise the $16.7 trillion cap on government borrowing.

Senator Ted Cruz knows exactly at whose feet this imminent shutdown lies…

“So far, [Reid] has essentially told the House of Representatives and the American people, ‘Go jump in a lake,'” Cruz said on “Meet The Press” on NBC. “He said, ‘I’m not willing to compromise, I’m not willing to even talk,’ His position is 100 percent of Obamacare must be funded in all instances, and, other than that, he’s going to shut the government down. I hope he doesn’t do that. If Harry Reid forces a government shutdown, that will be a mistake. I hope he backs away from that ledge that he’s pushing us towards, but that is his position.”

Cruz continued: “Twice Harry Reid has said, ‘We won’t even have a conversation. I refuse to compromise. We want to fund it all. We want to stick it on the American people. And we won’t budge.’ That’s not a reasonable position. And if we have a shutdown, it will be because Harry Reid holds that absolutist position, and essentially, holds the American people hostage.”

Cruz commended the House’s early Sunday vote to keep the government open and delay Obamacare for a year, despite Reid’s contention that the bill would be dead on arrival when the Senate resumes work Monday.

“President Obama has granted a delay for giant corporations,” Cruz said. “Every big company in America has gotten a one-year delay. If Harry Reid shuts the government down, what he will be saying is, “American families don’t get treated as well as we treat giant corporations.” Giant corporations don’t have to suffer, get a delay on the horns from Obamacare. But hardworking American families, he’s going to insist that they suffer now.”

Cruz, who last week made headlines with an epic 21-hour filibuster-like speech on the Senate floor railing against Obama’s landmark health care law, continued his crusade.

“The American people overwhelming reject Obamacare,” Cruz said. “They understand it’s not working. The only people who aren’t listening to the argument are the career politicians in Washington. It’s Harry Reid who wants to use brute political force.”

During his Senate speech, Cruz was criticized for comparing the funding of Obamacare to the rise of Hitler in Nazi Germany. On Sunday, he denied he made such a comparison.

“There have been many voices in Washington who’ve said, ‘We can’t do this, we can’t do this, we can’t do this.’ And I went through the contracts where, over and over again, when facing big challenges, Americans have risen to the occasion, whether it was the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War II, whether it was going to the moon under John F. Kennedy, or whether it was winning the Cold War,” Cruz said. “At every stage, there were voices of conventional wisdom who say, ‘This can’t be done.’ And at every stage, the American people rose to the occasion. And what I said is, ‘We should do the same here.’ We should look to, if we empower the American people, if we get Washington to listen to the people, that’s how we get this changed.”

Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin made a good point on her Facebook Page:

A friend sent me this graphic today [see above]. It says it all. “If there’s a government shut down, who will spy on me, waste my money and have contempt for me?”

We could add so much more to this list, friends. For example, if the government shuts down, who will:

*block responsible resource development
*borrow more money from foreign countries to give to foreign countries
*mortgage my kids’ future to bail out their friends on Wall Street & finance their big government crony capitalism
*”misplace” IRS receipts and ledgers to the tune of tens of millions
*stockpile ammo at DHS
*commandeer pro athletes to testify in front of Congress while watching bureaucrats plead the Fifth

The Democrats themselves, along with their buds, the Vichy Republicans are responsible for this mess.

Last week, Rush Limbaugh pointed out that

Okay. So this Dan Pfeiffer guy, he’s in charge of White House communications, senior advisor to the president for strategery and communications, he says the Republicans are running around with a bomb in their vests and they want to blow up the economy, defund Obamacare and government shutdown and all that kind of stuff. Don’t forget, back in 2006 Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Harry Reid, Pelosi, the rest of the Democrat Party, demanded that we defund our troops or they would vote against raising the debt ceiling.

Do you remember this? And Obama and Pfeiffer were asked about this. Well, wait a minute, now. How come, you know, Obama said it was purely political. He was against raising the debt limit, funding the troops and all that, and they said, “Well, that wasn’t political like the Republicans are doing now.” But these guys — Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid — they all threatened, demanded, that they wanted Bush to lose. They wanted America to lose the Iraq war. They threatened to defund the military operation in Iraq or they’d vote against the debt ceiling, raising it.

As I wrote yesterday, this whole fiasco is a cross between a game of ‘Chicken” and a game of “Dare”.

All brought about by a president who promises bi-partisanship…and who still wants it.   …as long as everybody keeps their mouths shut and does what he wants.
