Trump Nominated. How? (A Primer for Liberal Internet Trolls and Those With Hurt Feelings)

High-Ground-600-LAAs you have heard by now, unless you have your fingers in your ears and are screaming at the top of you lungs and jumping up and down until you turn blue, like the Liberal Internet Trolls and those who are still throwing a temper tantrum because their candidate did not win , Donald J. Trump was officially nominated last night as the 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate.

Foxnews.com summarizes the second night of the convention…

Republican congressional leaders, joined by vanquished primary candidates, immediately worked to rally the party behind Donald Trump Tuesday night after their national convention formally nominated him for president – with House Speaker Paul Ryan calling on voters to hit the polls like never before and “see this thing through.” “Our candidates will be giving their all, they’ll be giving their utmost, and every one of us has got to go and do the same,” Ryan said from the convention podium in Cleveland.

Night Two of the Republican convention contained plenty of rhetorical body slams against presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Chants from the crowd of “lock her up” were frequent. But the night was also an opportunity for the so-called GOP ‘establishment’ to make a very public show of unity and close the book on the raucous primary season.

Perhaps more than any other GOP leader on Capitol Hill, Ryan has had his share of scrapes with Trump over the nominee’s controversial remarks and tactics – but he closed his address Tuesday night with a call to action, saying, “Only with Donald Trump and Mike Pence do we have a chance at a better way.”

“Fellow Republicans, what we have begun here, let’s see this thing through, let’s win this thing, let’s show America our best and nothing less,” Ryan said.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, a former primary rival turned supporter, later warned that the country “may never recover” from another Clinton presidency — saying, “I’m proud to support Donald Trump.”

“Now is the time for us to rise up and take America back,” Carson said.

The speeches came on the heels of Republicans formally nominating Trump for president, with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence named to the ticket as his running mate.

Trump afterward addressed the convention hall via video message, saying: “This is a movement … but we have to go all the way.’

While party leaders called for unity, many of the convention speakers focused heavily once again on Clinton.

“Hillary Clinton has changed her position so many times, it’s impossible to tell where the conviction ends and the ambition begins,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was considered for running mate before Trump ultimately chose Pence, delivered one of the toughest speeches of the night on Clinton. His address was frequently interrupted by chants from the crowd of “lock her up.”

“We cannot promote someone to commander-in-chief who has made the world a more violent and dangerous place with every bad judgment she has made,” Christie said. “The facts of her life and career disqualify her.”

Clinton fired back on Twitter:

“If you think Chris Christie can lecture anyone on ethics, we have a bridge to sell you.”

But Christie got a positive response inside the hall.

“The way he delivered the speech, I think, spoke to the undecided. He presented the case against Hillary Clinton in a way the average person would understand,” said Phil Phillips, of the Alabama delegation.

Even as some of the addresses were more Clinton than Trump, the day’s proceedings as a whole served to restore a sense of party unity at a convention that faced some disruptions a day earlier, when anti-Trump delegates tried to force a roll-call vote on rules that bound many of them to back Trump. The bid failed, but the anti-Trump forces caused a commotion on the floor.

For the most part, protests were few and far between, and largely kept under control, during the roll call for the nomination Tuesday evening. Trump’s home state of New York put him over the top in the delegate count, with Donald Trump Jr. delivering the news on behalf of the delegation.

“Congratulations, Dad, we love you,” he shouted, as the giant TV screen on the floor declared him “Over the Top.”

He and Trump daughter Tiffany later addressed the convention, continuing to give Republicans a better picture of Trump as a man and father.

Donald Trump Jr. touted his father’s drive to tackle challenges and described the look in his eyes “when someone says it can’t be done.” He said he saw that look when his father was told he couldn’t “possibly succeed in politics.”

He paused and said with a chuckle, “Yes, he did.”

Indeed.

However, for the benefit of those who may be reading this post today, still in denial over the growing Political Tsunami that will reach land on Election Day 2016, please allow me to explain how this happened.

One of the secrets to Donald Trump’s Political Success, is, in fact, his masterful manipulation of the scavenging vultures that comprise the Main Stream Media.

Trump has played the media like Charlie Daniels plays the fiddle, with outstanding expertise and unerring accuracy.

Additionally, the ability to speak truth to power, to relate to average Americans, and to communicate in a fashion that gets his message across to the American Public, is exactly the reason that Trump won the Republican Nomination and continues to be steadily gaining popularity among the American Public.

Trump’s willingness to strike back at the Clinton Campaign and the Main Stream Media, when they malign him and publish false stories about him, has tapped into the American Public’s feelings about both the MSM and the Washingtonian Status Quo.

Americans are viewing Trump as someone who is not afraid to fight, for himself or for Americans.

One thing is for sure: unlike Crooked Hillary, Trump is not in it for the money.

So far, every hit piece in the Media, or things that his political opponents, including Hillary, has backfired in spectacular fashion.

Regarding his upcoming battle in the General Election with the “Queen of Mean” herself, Hillary Clinton…

Unfortunately for both the Democrats and the “Eeyores” and “Prophets of Doom” in the “#NeverTrump” Crowd, the American people have her figured out, as her long and bloody Political History is there for everyone to see.

Lying comes as naturally to The Former First Lady as breathing in and out.

As I have written, from the time she was fired from the Watergate Investigative Committee to wiping her private e-mail server, Hillary Rodham Clinton has been as crooked as a dog’s hind leg.

Machiavellian in political ambition and armed with a vocabulary that would make the legendary Gong Show Judge, Jaye P. Morgan, blush (look her up, kids), “the Hildebeast” has cut a wide swatch in her path to Political Power.

It should be obvious to Americans by now, that she believes that morality and ethics are for “the little people” (i.e., you and me).

We already have a congenital liar in the White House.

We certainly do not need another one.

Regarding the failure of Senator Ted Cruz in his quest to become the Republican Nominee: His failure is attributable to no one except his Campaign Advisors and the Senator, himself.

Instead of attempting to form a coalition, as Trump has been able to do, the Cruz Campaign, along with the unsolicited help of Radio Talk Show Host and Real-Life Elmer Gantry , Glenn Beck, positioned themselves, whether accidentally or on purpose, to resemble an old fashioned Tent Revival, at times, reminiscent of the old Neil Diamond song, “Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show”.

While I am also extremely concerned about the social issues which face this country and the slippery slope that we seem to be traveling on, at this time, that is not what is foremost on the minds of the American Voting public.

Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck, while more and more of us, through no fault of our own, are being expunged from the American Workforce, with that number now being well over 94, 400, 000.

Meanwhile, up on Capitol Hill, those whom we have voted into office to represent us, are more intent on reaching across the aisle, fulfilling the interests of a small minority of Americans, who would radically change this nation into something unrecognizable, turning The Shining City Upon the Hill into the World’s Piggy Bank and Doormat.

Certain members of the Republican Establishment have shown by their absence at the Convention that they will not support Trump, even though he is the Republican Nominee.

It would be the height of irony and a disservice to American Conservatives who have gone before, if a bunch of voters with hurt feelings destroys all the hard work of those who have tried to prevent this country’s destruction by an out-of-control Federal Government which panders to Special Interest Groups, instead of the American voters, while inadvertently aligning themselves with these Establishment Republicans.

Now is not the time for temper tantrums, now is the time for maturity.

It is time to begin the process of taking America back.

So, as I have related before, my Prediction for the upcoming Presidential Campaign, leading up to the election of Donald J. Trump, as the 45th President of the United States of America?

Grab your popcorn, boys and girls, this is gonna be fun.

Oh…and Ambassador Christopher Stevens remains unavailable for comment.

The Race For the Republican Nomination: Of Trump, Evangelicals, and Self-Appointed Prophets

American Christianity 2Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies. – Groucho Marx

The Christian Post reports that

At a campaign rally for Sen. Ted Cruz in Utah Saturday, popular radio host Glenn Beck accused evangelical Christians who are supporting Republican frontrunner Donald Trump of “not listening to their God.”

“Utah has an incredible opportunity. So many Christians have been standing up. But all throughout the South the evangelicals are not listening to their God. Let us raise a standard in Utah,” Beck said in support of Trump’s Republican rival.

Addressing Mormon voters directly, Beck then asked: “Where the hell are the priesthood holders? Where are you? Thank you. It’s time to stand up. It’s time to stand up. You know what time it is. The priesthood is supposed to rise up and restore the Constitution. Now is that time. Period.”

Cruz went on to win the Utah caucuses Tuesday, capturing 69.2 percent of the vote and taking all 40 delegates, though he still trails Trump in the delegates race.

Beck has strongly criticized Trump’s portrayal of himself as a Christian, suggesting back in February that even the idea that Trump reads the Bible is a “crock of [expletive].”

Beck said at a South Carolina Cruz rally that “too many people are looking at Trump and believing that man has ever opened a Bible … that’s the biggest crock of [expletive] I’ve ever heard.”

Trump has insisted that he is a Presbyterian and has a “great relationship” with God. He’s also claimed that “nobody reads the Bible more than me.”

Polls have showed that there is an important distinction to be made in regard to what type of evangelicals are voting in the elections, however.

A Pew Research analysis found that 39 percent of self-identified evangelical voters in the Republican Party do not believe that the Bible is the literal Word of God, while a separate Wall Street Journal poll showed that only 38 percent of Trump supporters attended worship on a weekly or more basis.

Anthony B. Bradley, chairman of the program in religious and theological studies, who also serves as associate professor of religious studies at King’s College in New York City, told The Christian Post during an interview last month that evangelicalism is not among the top concerns of evangelicals going to the polls.

“Trump evangelicals are evangelicals who have been on the margins. They are not mainstream evangelicals who are burdened by the sort of traditional concerns of the Church. Trump evangelicals are angry. They are mad at the Obama administration. They believe that the Obama administration has ruined the country,” Bradley told CP.

Dr. Richard Land, president of the Southern Evangelical Seminary and executive editor of The Christian Post, questioned the self-identified evangelical supports of Trump, and said that true evangelicals vote for their values.

“I vote my values, my beliefs and my convictions, I’m not pragmatic. Which means I don’t compromise my values, beliefs and convictions for what I may perceive to be my own narrow self-interests. I don’t see pragmatic in the New Testament, I see being salt and light,” said Land.

Okay. Before I begin this rant…err…analysis…please allow me to state up front, that I am a Bible-believing Christian, who lives in the Northwest Corner of the Magnolia State, and I am heavily involved in my local Contemporary Southern Baptist Church.

Dr. Bradley, judging by your position in academia, you are no doubt a learned man.

Saying that, please allow me to ask you this: Who are you to question my Christianity, over whom I decide to cast my vote for in any election, much less this very important one?

Sir, my faith is not marginal. I stand on The Solid Rock, not shifting sands.

America is a Constitutional Republic, not a Theocracy. And, as such, Americans, including the 75% of us who declare that Jesus Christ is our Personal Savior, must each make our own individual choice as to whom would best represent us as the Leader of the Free World, based upon both logic and the Spiritual Gift of Discernment.

Logic dictates that I vote for someone who will keep my family, my friends, and my country safe from the murderous barbarians that are at our gates. It also drives me to choose someone who actually has a chance to defeat the Democrat Candidate, the representative of the political party whose sitting President has driven this Sovereign Nation straight down the Highway to Hell, over the last seven years.

Judging from the Republican Primaries’ outcome, so far, the overwhelming majority of voters believe that candidate to be Donald J. Trump.

Concerning the Gift of Discernment, that gift has led me to observe that there are no Saints running for the Presidency of the United States of America…not one.

It has also led me to discern that Glenn Beck has become crazier than an Outhouse Rat. (That’s a Southern Colloquialism for meshuga, Professor.)

I can remember when The Glenn Beck Program first came on in the Memphis Radio Market.

I remember thinking, “Hey, this fellow’s pretty sharp. He’s entertaining and he makes some excellent political points.”

Through the era of the TEA Party and the 2008 elections, Beck became a TEA Party Darling, standing in solidarity with those Americans, who were “Taxed Enough Already”.

But then…things slowly started to change.

Imperceptible at first, Beck slowly, over a span of years, changed from being an analyzer of the news, to a maker of it. He changed from being a commentator to being a self-appointed prophet.

Now, with the very real possibility of Donald J. Trump becoming the Republican Nominee as their Presidential Candidate, Beck, whose severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, has made his once-entertaining radio program unlistenable, has now turned into an Old Testament Prophet, shaming those Christians who may even be thinking about voting for Trump, instead of Beck’s “Anointed” Candidate, Senator Ted Cruz.

I do believe that Beck’s Holy Garments have ridden up into a dark and lonely place.

Finally, addressing Dr. Land…I respect you tremendously, sir.

In responding to your admonition, please allow me to reply with a Facebook Post from last Saturday, from someone that I also respect tremendously, Rev. Franklin Graham:

Trump Madness—It’s “trumping” everything in the news, even March Madness. Do you believe protesters blocking the road to his rally to stop people from getting there today? There are those who passionately support him and others who are adamantly against him. He’s a political phenomenon like our country hasn’t seen before. I don’t think America has ever had a presidential candidate opposed by both establishments, Republican and Democratic, as well as the sitting president. I just hope that as a result of this unforgettable campaign season, politicians on all sides will get the message loud and clear that Americans are tired of the status quo and the corruption that has gripped Washington. Join me in praying for the 2016 elections and for the future of this nation.

That is my hope, as well, sir.

This is in no way meant to be an equal comparison, but, it is the best that I can come up with…

Just as my choice to accept Salvation through Jesus Christ was a Personal Experience, so is my choice as to whom to vote for in both the Republican Primary and this coming November.

Rest assured, Dr. Land, and all of my “Facebook Friends”, who are so concerned about my Christianity, in light of my perceived Presidential Choice, as a Christian, before I make any decision, I always consult with Someone “above my Pay Grade”.

Way Above.

Until He Comes,

What Happened to “Mr. Inevitable”?

It’s seems like, just the other day, that Mitt Romney supporters, known on Conservative websites as “Mittbots” were insisting that the Nomination of Mitt “The Legacy” Romney as the Republican Presidential Candidate was a fait d’accompli.

Things have changed.

Reuters.com has the story.

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney’s struggles in Michigan are fueling speculation that Republicans might have to resort to a doomsday scenario and launch a frantic search for a 2012 savior at their nominating convention in late August.

Rare in the modern age of U.S. politics, a “brokered convention” could result in Republicans ditching their current crop of candidates and turning to someone else who they feel would have a better chance of defeating Democratic President Barack Obama in the November 6 election.

How did Republicans get to this point? Romney’s failure to get conservatives fully behind him and put down yet another challenger in the party – this time it’s Rick Santorum – is causing angst in the party.

Many senior Republicans do not think Santorum, a social conservative caught up in the U.S. culture wars over issues like abortion and contraception, has a chance to beat Obama if he wins the party’s presidential nomination.

When he ran for re-election as a U.S. senator from Pennsylvania in 2006, Santorum lost by 18 percentage points. But, nevertheless, he is exposing Romney’s weaknesses in Michigan, where Santorum leads polls ahead of the big Midwestern state’s February 28 primary.

A Romney loss to Santorum in Michigan, the state where he was born and where his father was governor, would only intensify the talk about a weak Republican field and feed demands for someone else as the party’s candidate to challenge Obama.

“It’s hard for me to see how Romney rights the ship if he loses Michigan,” said Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak. “There is no level of spin that can overcome that disaster.”

Michigan will set the table for “Super Tuesday,” the March 6 jackpot when 10 states hold Republican nominating contests. A loss for Romney in Michigan would raise serious doubts over whether he can rally enough support to have a big day on Super Tuesday and make a big move toward clinching the nomination.

The candidates are engaging in a state-by-state battle to become the Republican nominee. The party will officially pick a nominee at its August convention in Tampa, Florida.

Why is Romney losing in what was once his “home state”, a state where his own father, George Romney, was once Governor?

L.Z. Granderson, in an article published on CNN.com, has a possible explanation:

One very clear reason why Mitt Romney is far from a lock to win the Michigan primary, despite his ties to the state, is that he’s not really tied to the state.

He was born here, he lived here. But he’s not family. Not anymore.

That’s why the characterization of Rick Santorum polling well in Romney’s backyard is a bit misguided. The truth is, many of us disowned that two-faced liar years ago. We remember how, back in 2008, Romney came home promising to do all he could to save the auto industry. And we believed him and voted for him and he won the primary here. Then, after he dropped out of the race, he wrote a New York Times op-ed that carried the headline “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt.”

The opening sentence: “If General Motors, Ford and Chrysler get the bailout that their chief executives asked for yesterday, you can kiss the American automotive industry goodbye.”

What the he@@?

I thought he said he was one of us.

Later in the piece, Romney talks about why we should let the auto industry go bankrupt. Although he lays out some very sound reasons for this — including an anecdotal story of when his father, George, took over American Motors — at the end of the day he fails to mention the most important thing. Us.

He forgot about the people back home who depended on the auto industry to put food on the table, pay mortgages, send the kids to college. He greeted us like family when he needed our votes, but when he left town he treated us like strangers.

If Romney didn’t think a bailout was the best way to help the state, he should have said that when he came here looking for delegates and let the people at his rallies decide if they agreed with him. Instead he pandered, then kicked dirt in our faces on his way out the door — an all too familiar pattern with Romney.

The reason Santorum is gaining votes in Michigan isn’t because he’s so liked here, though his social conservative rhetoric plays well in the western side of the state. But it’s because we’ve been burned by Romney before. He tells the people in front of him what they want to hear. But when he sets his sights on a new shiny object, he changes the script to fit his new needs.

Unfortunately, for The Legacy, other Americans besides Granderson and the Michiganders have figured out his Karma Chameleon nature, also.

According  to pollster Scott Rasmussen:

…Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum has now bounced to a 12-point lead over Mitt Romney in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary Voters finds Santorum with 39% support to the former Massachusetts governor’s 27%. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich follows from a distance with 15% of the vote, and Texas Congressman Ron Paul runs last with 10%. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

Now, I’m just an average American, sitting here outside Memphis, Tennessee (Detroit South) in the Northwest Corner of Mississippi, but it seems to me, as I’ve said before, that average Americans, especially Conservatives here in the Heartland, are a stiff-necked people.

We tend to stand up on our hind legs when someone tries to force something (or in this case, someone) upon us that we really don’t trust, or care for.

For an example, please watch a certain Supreme Court Case coming in a few months, concerning the Constitutionality of forcing everyone in America to buy Health Insurance in order to participate in a Federal Government-run bureaucratic nightmare of a Healthcare System, that the overwhelming majority of Americans remain opposed to, but was shoved down our throats, anyway.

By the way, where did Obama and his Administration ever find a state-run Healthcare System to model Obamacare after?

Oh, yeah.  Romneycare.

You know, that might have something to do with Romney’s campaign tanking, as well.

What do YOU think?
