New York High School Kids Recite The Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic. Why That Was Wrong.

pledgeofallegiance

Have you heard what happened in Upstate New York earlier this week?

The Times Herald-Record reported that

An effort to celebrate national Foreign Language Week by reading the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic Wednesday has polarized Pine Bush High School into angry factions.

The morning’s regularly scheduled announcements included the Arabic reading of the pledge. According to students, the announcement was greeted by catcalls and angry denunciations in classrooms throughout the school by students who felt the reading was inappropriate.

The reading became the subject of angry talk throughout the school and a cascade of tweets both from students who criticized the reading and those who supported it.

The controversy has “divided the school in half,” according to school Superintendent Joan Carbone. She described the reading as “something that was supposed to be good but turned out not to be.”

Early Wednesday afternoon, high school Principal Aaron Hopmayer made a building-wide announcement explaining the reading’s context and apologizing to students who took offense.

The apology appears to have done little to quell the situation; it may, in fact, have fueled resentment from students who feel the reading was appropriate.

Carbone said she had received complaints from district residents who had lost family members in Afghanistan and from Jewish parents who were equally outraged by the reading.

Pine Bush is no stranger to controversy. In 2013, Jewish parents sued the district and administrators in federal court, accusing them of being indifferent to chronic anti-Semitic behavior.

Carbone said she has learned that state Education Department regulations specifically say the Pledge of Allegiance should be read in English.

Students on both sides of the issue took to Twitter to voice their feelings. Said one, “People who don’t like PB should take a vacation. I hear the Middle East is nice this time a year?”

Another student tweeted, “The pledge should always be said in English. They could’ve just said “Good Morning” in a different language each day.”

A student who supported the reading, senior Miranda Monroe, said she felt it was “wrong to discriminate – the whole thing is wrong.”

Andrew Zink, president of the student assembly and senior class president, ordinarily reads the morning announcements. When he was asked to allow the reading to take place in Arabic, he agreed, but added in a telephone interview later, “I knew exactly what would happen.”

“I knew many wouldn’t support it,” he said.

Nevertheless, Zink said he’d do it again, “Because it’s the right thing to do.”

No. It’s not.

Why would an average American High-Schooler feel this way?

Simple. This young man has been raised under the freedom-stifling indoctrination of a State Educational System which genuflects to the ideology of Political Correctness.

This ideology preaches that all cultures are equally good, all “religions” lead to God, America is NOT exceptional, and American Patriotism is “jingoistic”.

Oh, and if your parents do not believe this “truth”, you should ignore them….and snitch on them to the authorities…especially if they own a gun.

The multi-headed snake of Political Correctness has been slithering its way into our Popular Culture for years.

However, it really kicked into high gear with the immaculation…err…inauguration of its messiah, Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm), who has stated that America is “not Just a Christian Nation” and those of us here in the Heartland, are “bitterly clinging to our Bibles and guns”.

Growing up in the Heartland of America, starting in elementary school, every student said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning, facing the American Flag in the corner of our classroom with our hands placed firmly over our hearts.

And, I can tell you from first hand experience, that act of allegiance and reverence for our country still takes place every morning in schools across this country, including those here in Mississippi.

Why is this done?

Is it some sort of arcane ritual that has no meaning in this Modern America, where our Liberal politicians preach that diversity is what makes America strong and that the “Melting Pot” image of a unified America is no longer relevant?

Liberals, all over the Internet, have been asking what difference does it make that these kids decided to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic?

I’m glad you asked, Libs.

The Pledge of Allegiance is more than just words being said to an inanimate object.

Just as America’s Founding Fathers pledged “their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor” to one another, as they fought to secure our American Freedom from the forces of tyranny, every time Americans recite our Pledge of Allegiance, we are pledging our loyalty to each other as Americans, and to our country.

This is not a pledge to be taken lightly. This is not a pledge which was designed to be said in the language of our enemies.

This is a pledge which was meant to be said sincerely and said in a way that honors the flag of our country, a symbol which brave men have fought and died for in defense of our liberty.

As I have written before, my friend Johnny McDonald once wrote that “liberty is freedom with responsibility”. Our nation’s Pledge of Allegiance is a pledge of responsibility… a responsibility to keep America “The Shining City on a Hill”… a country where legal immigrants can begin their new lives as Americans…”one nation under God with liberty and justice for all”.

Maybe those High School Students in Upstate New York were never properly explained the meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance?  As I take my leave today, America’s Clown Prince, Mr. Richard (Red) Skelton, will explain it, so that even they might understand.  God Bless America!

Bubba Spills the Beans About Hil’s Head Injury

Hillary Ramirez CartoonBack in the early 1980s, America’s Clown Prince of Comedy, Richard Bernard “Red” Skelton, appeared in a series of concerts, filmed in Canada, for HBO.

Red, in his late 70s, was as hilariously masterful as ever, establishing a rapport with the audience and then, taking them on a seamless flight of comedic bliss and fancy, including a quite memorable “poetry reading” by Red’s  legendary character Clem Kadiddlehopper, performing a take-off of Rudyard Kipling’s classic “Drums”, with the title of “Frogs”, during which, at the end of each quatrain, the words, “…and, there’s no silence in the night”, was followed by a licking of his thumb , and a rhythmic page turn.

Frogs. Frogs. Frogs, they are everywhere.
Frogs. Frogs. Frogs croaking fill the air.
Louder. Louder. Louder is their blasting blare
and there’s no silence in the night.

Frogs. Frogs, croaks heard three miles away.
Five. six. seven beyond that they say.
Frogs. Frogs multiplying more each day
and there’s no silence in the night.

Frogs. Frogs don’t try to seek them out.
Frogs. Frogs. Frogs hiding all about.
Grab. Grab. Grab their throats and wring them out.
’cause there’s no silence in the night.

Frogs. Frogs their good is only bad.
Flirting. Flirting. Flirting on their lily pad.
Mom. Mom. Mom says no, but you know Dad.
and there’s no silence in the night.

Frogs. Frogs don’t you know the strain?
Frogs. Frogs. Please, please, please refrain
and listen [croak, croak] there they go again. Frogs. Frogs
and there’s no silence in the night.

At one point during his performance, Red is telling the audience how wonderful his second wife is, and how much he loves her…then, at just the right moment, he lolls to the left…then to the right, makes a motion for the crowd to lean in toward him, while he leans in toward them, and says softly, with a wry grin,

But, where she spits…grass never grows again!

But, I digress…

I believe that ol’ Bubba Clinton can relate to Red’s dilemma.

The dailymail.co.uk reports that

Former President Bill Clinton divulged on Wednesday that it took former secretary of state Hillary Clinton ‘six months of very serious work’ last year to recover from a fainting spell in December 2012 that resulted in a concussion and blood clot.

Her long recovery is ‘something she never low-balled,’ Bill said.

But Bill’s timeline contradicts the State Department’s claims just after the conclusion of Hillary’s treatment in January 2013 that ‘she seems to be fully recovered.’

Former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove reignited the debate about Hillary’s physical and mental condition last week when he suggested at a conference that she was hiding something about her health.

‘Thirty days in the hospital?’ Rove said, according to the New York Post. ‘And when she reappears, she’s wearing glasses that are only for people who have traumatic brain injury? We need to know what’s up with that.’

The Post insinuated that Rove claimed Hillary may be suffering from brain damage as a result of the clot.

‘Karl Rove has deceived the country for years, but there are no words for this level of lying,’ Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill fired back.

‘She is 100%. Period,’ he said of Hillary’s heath.

Rove told Fox News on Tuesday he never said Hillary had brain damage.

‘She had a serious health episode and my point was that I think it was from the 7th of December in 2012 through the 7th of January of 2013, she underwent, first she had apparently a serious virus,’ he said after being confronted with the fact that the former secretary of state was only in the hospital for three days, not 30 days.

After Rove explained his comments on Fox, Merrill accused Republicans of politicizing Hillary’s health.

‘First they accused her of faking it, now they’ve resorted to the other extreme — and are flat out lying,’ he said.

‘Even this morning, Karl Rove is still all over the map and is continuing to get the facts wrong. But he doesn’t care, because all he wants to do is inject the issue into the echo chamber, and he’s succeeding. It’s flagrant and thinly veiled.’

Speaking at an event in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, Bill Clinton said he was ‘sort of dumbfounded’ by Republicans’ on going questions about Hillary’s health. Clinton said they would do ‘whatever it takes’ to sully her political career, and ‘there was nothing to’ claims she was untruthful about her health issues.

‘They went to all this trouble to say she had staged what was a terrible concussion that required six months of very serious work to get over,’ he said. ‘It’s something she never low-balled with the American people, never tried to pretend it didn’t happen.”

Clinton laughed Hillary’s critics off, saying, ‘You can’t be too upset about it.’

‘It’s just the beginning. They’ll get better and better about it,’ he said. ‘It’s just part of the deal.’

As for Rove, Clinton said, ‘I got to give him credit, you know, that embodies that old saying that consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.’

Clinton said his wife was in good health.

‘Look, she works out every week. She is strong. She is doing great,’ Clinton said according to Buzzfeed. ‘As far as I can tell, she’s in better shape than I am.’

Hillary left the State Department in February of 2013, less than a month after returning in the wake of her accident. She hit the speaking circuit just five months later in July of 2013.

The presumed 2016 candidate has spent the last year giving speeches on he own behalf and on behalf of the Clinton Foundation and working on her memoir, Hard Choices, which comes out in June.

She was also in Washington for a speech, yesterday. Unlike her husband, she did not discuss the controversy surrounding her recovery, however.

So, the Clinton Legacy of Lies continues.

And, this woman wants to be the Leader of the Free World.

The truth of the matter is, she always has.

While Bubba had all the people skills of a professional politician, the Clinton Partnership was like the old saying,

Behind every successful man, there’s a woman…pushing as hard as she can.

Hillary was always the ambitious one.

And, as Dennis Miller once observed, while on Bill O’Reilly’s Program,

The Clinton Marriage couldn’t be more about convenience if there was a Slurpee Machine at the foot of the bed.

With this current revelation and all the other previously documented lies in Hillary’s personal and professional history, it appears that she is extremely qualified to assume Barack Hussein Obama’s mantle of Prevaricator-in-Chief.

The question now is: with all of her baggage, will the Democrats want her to?

High Schoolers in Colorado Recite the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic. Why it Matters.

pledgeofallegianceLast Monday, someone in the student-led Cultural Arms Club at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado decided that it would be cool and appropriate, if they said the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic.

That’s right. Instead of saying “One Nation Under God”, these high school students in Colorado pledged that America was “One Nation Under Allah”… and evidently, did not think a thing about it.

Seriously?

Back in October, 2010, I posted a Blog titled “The Pledge and the Progressives”, about an incident of spontaneous patriotism that happened at the beginning of a candidates forum with 8th Congressional District candidates Joe Walsh, Melissa Bean and Bill Scheurer at Grayslake Central High School.

According to Illinois’ top League of Women Voters official, “phony patriotism” was driving criticism over a moderator’s reaction when she was asked if the Pledge of Allegiance would be recited before an 8th Congressional District debate.

Executive Director Jan Czarnik said what happened and the firestorm of criticism afterward, directed at moderator Kathy Tate-Bradish, was an attempt by supporters of Republican candidate Joe Walsh of McHenry and tea party members to bully the organization.

Czarnik said someone was not a better American just by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
This clueless woman said:

It’s a phony patriotism issue is what it is.  They must think it helps their campaign.

Brought in from the League of Women Voters Evanston branch because she didn’t live in the 8th Congressional District, Tate-Bradish handled the event at Grayslake Central High School that featured Democratic U.S. Rep. Melissa Bean of Barrington, the Green Party’s Bill Scheurer and Walsh.

As you heard in the video, Tate-Bradish was asked by a man in the audience whether the Pledge of Allegiance would be recited after she went over some ground rules and directed the candidates to make opening statements.

As Tate-Bradish condescendingly explained that the debate was not scheduled to start with the pledge, almost all in the crowd of more than 300 stood and enthusiastically recited it anyway.

Tate-Bradish, who joined in the pledge, issued a scolding, like a petulant schoolmarm, when the crowd finished.

Walsh campaign manager Nick Provenzano still does not understand why Tate-Bradish did not appear to welcome the Pledge of Allegiance suggestion. He said it was spontaneous and not orchestrated by Walsh’s campaign.

He said:

That neutral stance (by Tate-Bradish) toward the Pledge of Allegiance is troublesome.

Not just troublesome, sir.  Borderline treasonous.

Tate-Bradish stood by her unpatriotic actions and said she had been surprised by personal attacks directed toward her on the Internet since the forum, particularly posts stating she “hates America.” I’m shocked, I tell you.  Shocked.)  She claims that she ran the debate in the format established by some Grayslake High students and agreed to by all three candidates, none of whom asked for the pledge in advance.

She petulantly whined:

It’s pretty patriotic to run forums in election seasons where every candidate can be heard and they’re not stomped on.

Island Lake resident Joseph Ptak, a Walsh supporter, come forward later to admit that he asked for the pledge at the debate. Provenzano said he was not certain who made the request.

Ptak, 58, a U.S. Air Force veteran, said the pledge was a proper way to begin the event that was in a high school and had student participation. He said many veterans were in the audience, and he objects to Czarnik questioning the request’s sincerity.

Ptak said:

I’m a Joe Walsh supporter, but first and foremost I’m an American.

Bean spokesman Jonathan Lipman declined to comment.

Somehow, I don’t doubt that.

Progressives are only loyal to themselves.

Growing up in the Heartland of America, starting in elementary school, every student said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning, facing the American Flag in the corner of our classroom with our hands placed firmly over our hearts.

The Legend of the Hildebeast: “Hillary Papers” Released

Hillary2Back in the early 1980s’, HBO taped a couple of live performances of America’s “Clown Prince of Comedy”, Richard “Red” Skelton. Even though the ol’ redhead was 78 years old, he was still as sharp as a tack…and was still an absolute master of comedic timing. At one point,  he was telling the audience how much he loved his wife, when abruptly,he looked from side to side, got a mischievous grin of his legendary face and said,

But, where that woman spits, grass never grows again.

He could have been speaking about Hillary Clinton.

FreeBeacon.com reports that

On May 12, 1992, Stan Greenberg and Celinda Lake, top pollsters for Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign, issued a confidential memo. The memo’s subject was “Research on Hillary Clinton.”

Voters admired the strength of the Arkansas first couple, the pollsters wrote. However, “they also fear that only someone too politically ambitious, too strong, and too ruthless could survive such controversy so well.”

Their conclusion: “What voters find slick in Bill Clinton, they find ruthless in Hillary.”

The full memo is one of many previously unpublished documents contained in the archive of one of Hillary Clinton’s best friends and advisers, documents that portray the former first lady, secretary of State, and potential 2016 presidential candidate as a strong, ambitious, and ruthless Democratic operative.

The papers of Diane Blair, a political science professor Hillary Clinton described as her “closest friend” before Blair’s death in 2000, record years of candid conversations with the Clintons on issues ranging from single-payer health care to Monica Lewinsky.

The archive includes correspondence, diaries, interviews, strategy memos, and contemporaneous accounts of conversations with the Clintons ranging from the mid-1970s to the turn of the millennium.

Diane Blair’s husband, Jim Blair, a former chief counsel at Tyson Foods Inc. who was at the center of “Cattlegate,” a 1994 controversy involving the unusually large returns Hillary Clinton made while trading cattle futures contracts in the 1970s, donated his wife’s papers to the University of Arkansas Special Collections library in Fayetteville after her death.

The full contents of the archive, which before 2010 was closed to the public, have not previously been reported on and shed new light on Clinton’s three decades in public life. The records paint a complex portrait of Hillary Clinton, revealing her to be a loyal friend, devoted mother, and a cutthroat strategist who relished revenge against her adversaries and complained in private that nobody in the White House was “tough and mean enough.”

As Arte Johnson used to say on Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, “Verrrry Interesting”.

That explains Whitewater.

A while back, the Washington Post published the following timeline:

1978

Arkansas Attorney General Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton join with James B. and Susan McDougal to borrow $203,000 to buy 220 acres of land in Arkansas’ Ozark Mountains. They soon form the Whitewater Development Corp., intending to build vacation homes.

Clinton is elected governor.

1980

Clinton loses his reelection bid and enters private legal practice.

James McDougal, who served briefly as Gov. Clinton’s economic development director, quits government to buy a small bank in Kingston, Ark. He loans $30,000 to Hillary Clinton to build a model house on a Whitewater lot.

1982

McDougal buys a small savings and loan and names it Madison Guaranty.

After two years as a private citizen, Clinton is once again elected governor.

1984

Federal regulators begin to question the financial stability and lending practices of Madison Guaranty, criticizing Madison’s speculative land deals, insider-lending and hefty commissions paid to the McDougals and others.

Clinton is reelected.

1985James McDougal holds a fund-raising event at Madison Guaranty to help pay off a $50,000 Clinton campaign debt. Investigators later determine some of the money was improperly withdrawn from depositor funds.

McDougal hires the Rose Law Firm, where Hillary Clinton is a partner, to do legal work for the ailing savings and loan.

Hillary Clinton and another Rose lawyer seek state regulatory approval for recapitalization plan for Madison.

1986

McDougal borrows $300,000 from a company owned by David Hale, a former Little Rock judge. Hale’s company receives federal funds from the Small Business Administration to lend to disadvantaged business owners, but an investigation 10 years later alleges that he lent up to $3 million to political figures instead.

Citing improper practices, federal regulators remove McDougal as Madison Guaranty’s president, but he retains ownership.

1988

Witnesses from the Rose Law Firm say Hillary Clinton requested the destruction of Madison land contract files.

Hillary Clinton writes James McDougal to ask for power of attorney to sell off remaining Whitewater lots and clear up bank obligations.

1989

Madison Guaranty collapses after a series of bad loans and a change in government accounting procedures. The federal government shuts it down and spends $60 million bailing it out.

James McDougal is indicted on federal fraud charges related to his management of a Madison real estate subsidiary.

1990

McDougal is acquitted.

1992

The Clinton presidential campaign gathers information on Whitewater and Madison Guaranty. A report commissioned by the campaign claims the Clintons lost $68,000 on Whitewater, an estimate later adjusted down to somewhat over $40,000.

The Federal Resolution Trust Corp., investigating causes of Madison’s failure, sends a referral to the Justice Department that names the Clintons as “potential beneficiaries” of illegal activities at Madison.

January 1993

Clinton’s first term as president begins.

May 1993

White House fires seven employees in the travel office, possibly to make room for Clinton friends. An FBI investigation of the office ensues, allegedly opened under pressure from the White House to justify the firings.

June 1993

Deputy White House Counsel Vincent Foster files three years of delinquent Whitewater corporate tax returns.

July 1993

Foster is found dead in a Washington area park. Police rule the death a suicide. Federal investigators are not allowed access to Foster’s office immediately after the discovery, but White House aides enter Foster’s office shortly after his death, giving rise to speculation that files were removed from his office.

If one is to believe all the weighted “push polls” one sees, Hillary is, by far, the front runner among all of the potential Democrat Candidates for President in 2016. If that is indeed the case, any non-RINO Republican Candidate, who is willing to get down in the trenches and slug it out, should have a field day citing Hil’s notorious past along the 2016 Presidential Campaign Trail.

On Jan. 8, 1996, in a commentary titled “Blizzard of Lies,” New York Times columnist William Safire described Hillary Clinton as “a congenital liar.”

Safire was being too kind.

Vince Foster and the Benghazi 4 remain unavailable for comment.
