I posted the following message on Twitter @kingsjester1 on Friday afternoon…
Cruz endorses Trump! The Thunderclap that you just heard was the butt cheeks of all of the #NeverTrumpers slamming together in unison. #tcot
Yesterday, Texas Senator and Republican Presidential Candidate Hopeful Ted Cruz posted the following statement on his Facebook Page…
This election is unlike any other in our nation’s history. Like many other voters, I have struggled to determine the right course of action in this general election.
In Cleveland, I urged voters, “please, don’t stay home in November. Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket whom you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.”
After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.
I’ve made this decision for two reasons. First, last year, I promised to support the Republican nominee. And I intend to keep my word.
Second, even though I have had areas of significant disagreement with our nominee, by any measure Hillary Clinton is wholly unacceptable — that’s why I have always been #NeverHillary.
Six key policy differences inform my decision. First, and most important, the Supreme Court. For anyone concerned about the Bill of Rights — free speech, religious liberty, the Second Amendment — the Court hangs in the balance. I have spent my professional career fighting before the Court to defend the Constitution. We are only one justice away from losing our most basic rights, and the next president will appoint as many as four new justices. We know, without a doubt, that every Clinton appointee would be a left-wing ideologue. Trump, in contrast, has promised to appoint justices “in the mold of Scalia.”
For some time, I have been seeking greater specificity on this issue, and today the Trump campaign provided that, releasing a very strong list of potential Supreme Court nominees — including Sen. Mike Lee, who would make an extraordinary justice — and making an explicit commitment to nominate only from that list. This commitment matters, and it provides a serious reason for voters to choose to support Trump.
Second, Obamacare. The failed healthcare law is hurting millions of Americans. If Republicans hold Congress, leadership has committed to passing legislation repealing Obamacare. Clinton, we know beyond a shadow of doubt, would veto that legislation. Trump has said he would sign it.
Third, energy. Clinton would continue the Obama administration’s war on coal and relentless efforts to crush the oil and gas industry. Trump has said he will reduce regulations and allow the blossoming American energy renaissance to create millions of new high-paying jobs.
Fourth, immigration. Clinton would continue and even expand President Obama’s lawless executive amnesty. Trump has promised that he would revoke those illegal executive orders.
Fifth, national security. Clinton would continue the Obama administration’s willful blindness to radical Islamic terrorism. She would continue importing Middle Eastern refugees whom the FBI cannot vet to make sure they are not terrorists. Trump has promised to stop the deluge of unvetted refugees.
Sixth, Internet freedom. Clinton supports Obama’s plan to hand over control of the Internet to an international community of stakeholders, including Russia, China, and Iran. Just this week, Trump came out strongly against that plan, and in support of free speech online.
These are six vital issues where the candidates’ positions present a clear choice for the American people.
If Clinton wins, we know — with 100% certainty — that she would deliver on her left-wing promises, with devastating results for our country.
My conscience tells me I must do whatever I can to stop that.
We also have seen, over the past few weeks and months, a Trump campaign focusing more and more on freedom — including emphasizing school choice and the power of economic growth to lift African-Americans and Hispanics to prosperity.
Finally, after eight years of a lawless Obama administration, targeting and persecuting those disfavored by the administration, fidelity to the rule of law has never been more important.
The Supreme Court will be critical in preserving the rule of law. And, if the next administration fails to honor the Constitution and Bill of Rights, then I hope that Republicans and Democrats will stand united in protecting our fundamental liberties.
Our country is in crisis. Hillary Clinton is manifestly unfit to be president, and her policies would harm millions of Americans. And Donald Trump is the only thing standing in her way.
A year ago, I pledged to endorse the Republican nominee, and I am honoring that commitment. And if you don’t want to see a Hillary Clinton presidency, I encourage you to vote for him.
What caused the spectacular collapse of the campaign of Senator Ted Cruz, which led to this endorsement?
A while back, I wrote that, in the case of Senator Ted Cruz, his image of not being just another politician, was tarnished by the actions of those working for him, in regards to the political shenanigans that were being played against Donald J. Trump.
Also, instead of trying to reach out to other parts of the voting base, as Trump did, Cruz instead reached out to fellow politicians, seeking their support. However, upon reflection, I believe there is even more to the story of the collapse of the Cruz Campaign.
As I have documented before, the success of Donald J. Trump and his Campaign, is one of a visceral and palpable anger, that is presently held by Americans for Professional Politicians.
I believe that this anger has not only been caused by the blatant self-serving interests of those we have elected to serve us in Washington, DC, but also by
the realization by average Americans that our country is under attack by enemies, both foreign and domestic.
Average Americans, like you and me, love our country.
We are tired of being told by the present Administration and their Liberal Minions in the Main Stream Media, that America is “just another country”, when we have been raised to believe, by those who exemplified it, in American Exceptionalism.
Our ancestors, relatives, and friends have died in the defense of our nation and our Traditional American Values.
And, our love and respect for those who have gone before us, simply will not allow us to stand idly by, and watch the continued degradation and purposeful destruction of a nation that was built through their sacrifices.
Modern American Liberals call this attitude “Nationalism” and/or “Jingoism”.
Those of us here in America’s Heartland, simply call it “being an American.”
The bold and brash nature of Trump and his “Political Correctness be d*mned” way of speaking, continues to strike a resonant chord in the hearts of average Americans, who, quite simply, are fed up with being told that we’re wrong for believing in these Traditional American Values.
What the Liberals, to this day, do not seem to understand, is the more that they send paid protesters out to stop Trump from speaking and the more baseless propaganda that the Main Stream Media attempts to force-feed us every day on local and national newscasts, the more average Americans will support him, because, despite all of their best efforts to turn America into a Democratic Socialist Nation , we remain the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
If this was any other time in the history of presidential elections, Senator Ted Cruz would probably be faring better.
Unfortunately for Senator Ted Cruz, thanks to his own bad choices and the contempt of the American Voting Public for professional politicians at this time, Trump sailed to victory in the Republican Primary.
One of those bad choices was forging an alliance with Radio Talk Show Host Glenn Beck.
Imperceptible at first, Beck slowly, over a span of years, changed from being an analyzer of the news, to a maker of it. He changed from being a commentator to being a self-appointed prophet.
Now, with the very real possibility of Donald J. Trump becoming the next President of the United States , Beck, whose severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, has made his once-entertaining radio program unlistenable, has turned into an Old Testament Prophet, shaming those Christians who may even be thinking about voting for Trump.
I do believe that Beck’s Holy Garments have ridden up into a dark and lonely place.
Once one of my favorite radio show hosts to listen to, Beck has, in the last couple of years, become unlistenable.
The times that I have tuned in, during the course of the Republican Primaries, sounded like Beck was possessed with the spirit of the late, great Ricardo Montalban, in his scene-stealing role as Khan in “Star Trek II”. I fully expect to hear him say at one point:
[quoting from Melville’s Moby Dick] To the last, I will grapple with thee… from Hell’s heart, I stab at thee! For hate’s sake, I spit my last breath at thee!
Monday’s radio program should be interesting, to say the least.
A final word to the #NeverTrumpers…
Holding one’s breath until they turn blue, or telling a Christian American Conservative that they are somehow condemned to Hell and are Unpatriotic, for voting for and supporting Donald J. Trump in his quest to become the next President of the United States of America, is not going to change the reality of the situation.
Neither will staying at home and not voting this November.
That’s been tried before.
That is how we got stuck with Petulant President Pantywaist.
Quite frankly…
If you hate Donald J. Trump so much, that you are willing to sacrifice America’s Future to get your “revenge”, seek professional help.
Or…change your last name to Khan…or Ahab.
Sir Isaac Newton once stated that
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
Professional Politicians, by ignoring the wishes of average Americans, and acting in their own self-interests, have brought this whole phenomenon upon themselves.
In other words, the “Trump Train” is an “equal and opposite reaction”.
To paraphrase the classic cartoon character, Popeye the Sailor Man…
We’ve had all we can stands. We can’t stands no more.
Until He Comes,
