Ole Miss Liberals Remove State Flag From Campus Because of Confederate Flag in Its Corner

thB1USW3NQOn the wall beside my computer desk, hangs my family crest, which I shipped to my Daddy (Southern Colloquialism for male parental unit) in the summer of 1978, from an insignia shoppe in York, England.

This same family crest also hangs in the home of Jefferson Davis, distinguished Graduate of West Point Academy, and the President of the Confederate States of America.

I am a proud Southerner, living in the NW Corner of the state of Mississippi.

As a Christian American, I attend church on Sunday mornings with my brothers and sisters in Christ, both black and white.

American Progressives, both Democrat and Republican, continue to try to take advantage of the horrible church massacre in Charleston, SC, in order to accomplish something that they have been trying to do for years: minimize the South’s political clout and erase our uniqueness as a region, through the taking away of a symbol of our heritage, and, any traces of the historical aspects of the Confederate Side of the Civil War, as exemplified by the current mission of Outgoing Memphis Mayor AC Wharton and his minions on the City Council, to dig up Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife, and move their bodies and a statue of the general, which all currently “reside” in a downtown park in the Medical Center.

The Alinsky-approved Tactics, currently being employed by Barack Obama and his Liberal minions on both sides of the aisle, are giving them, at best, a temporary victory, as shown by the results of a CNN poll, which shows that the opinion of Americans concerning the Confederate Flag remains unchanged in the last 15 years.

The poll shows that 57% of Americans see the flag more as a symbol of Southern pride than as a symbol of racism, about the same as in 2000 when 59% said they viewed it as a symbol of pride.

Why have Liberals shown such disrespect for this integral part of American History?

Modern American Liberals have no respect for any of our nation’s symbols of our heritage.

And now, that same cowardly, revisionist history has reared its ugly head in Oxford, Mississippi.

The University of Mississippi took down the state flag from campus on Monday morning, heeding calls from students and administrators who said the inclusion of the Confederate symbol in one portion of the flag made it unfit to fly.

The flag, which was lowered and furled by the UM Police Department, is slated to be preserved in the University Archives, alongside student and faculty resolutions calling for its removal, according to aUniversity statement issued on Monday.

“The University of Mississippi community came to the realization years ago that the Confederate battle flag did not represent many of our core values, such as civility and respect for others,” Interim Chancellor Morris Stocks said in the statement. “Since that time, we have become a stronger and better university. We join other leaders in our state who are calling for a change in the state flag.”

The student senate voted 33-15-1 to take the flag down on Oct. 20 and, six days later, the banner came down, following similar recommendations from the Faculty Senate, the Graduate Student Council and the Staff Council.

More than 200 people took part in a remove-the-flag rally Oct. 16 on the Oxford campus. It was sponsored by the university chapter of the NAACP.

The University of Mississippi has struggled with Old South symbolism for decades. In 1962, deadly riots broke out when James Meredith was enrolled as the first black student, under court order. Ole Miss administrators have tried to distance the school from Confederate symbols. Sports teams are still called the Rebels, but the university several years ago retired the Colonel Rebel mascot — a white-haired old man some thought resembled a plantation owner. The university also banned sticks in the football stadium nearly 20 years ago, which eliminated most Confederate battle flags that fans carried.

“As Mississippi’s flagship university, we have a deep love and respect for our state,” Stocks said. “Because the flag remains Mississippi’s official banner, this was a hard decision. I understand the flag represents tradition and honor to some. But to others, the flag means that some members of the Ole Miss family are not welcomed or valued. That is why the university faculty, staff and leadership have united behind this student-led initiative.”

Since 1894, the Mississippi state flag has featured the Confederate insignia in the upper left quadrant. Three thick strips of blue, white and red, from top to bottom, compose the remainder of the flag. Residents chose to keep the flag during a 2001 statewide vote.

The Confederate flag became a contentious public issue following the shooting deaths of several black parishioners at a historic South Carolina church during an allegedly racially-motivated incident in June. The alleged shooter was pictured in online profiles posing with the Confederate flag, images which, in part, led to new calls for the symbol to be removed from various public locations.

Yesterday, Mississippi Governor Ed Bryant provided the following statement to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger:

Mississippians overwhelmingly voted in 2001 to adopt the current Mississippi state flag.  I believe publicly funded institutions should respect the law as it is written today. It clearly states ‘The state flag shall receive all the respect and ceremonious etiquette given the American flag.

Last Thursday, Governor Phil Bryant told reporters he did not think the university’s associated student body senate, who voted 33-15 with one abstention to request the removal of the flag from campus, had the “legal authority” to determine whether the flag flies, due to the fact that it was a public building.

Evidently, just like Liberal Trolls on Facebook, these spoiled Liberals at the University of Mississippi believe themselves to be “above it all”.

According to their yearly Financial Report, in 2014, the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) received approximately $250,000 in State Appropriations.

Governor Bryant, here’s an idea:

If the students and faculty of Ole Miss are not proud enough of their state to fly the State Flag, they, evidently, don’t need the State of Mississippi’s support.

Withhold the State Appropriations until the State Flag is, once again, flown over the Campus of Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi.

Spoiled Brats always need to be taught a lesson.

The War Against Christianity: The FFRF Vs. Football Team Prayer

highschoolfootball1As I sit here, sniffling and coughing from Sinus Problems, I realize that the weather is changing. It is about to be fall and means one thing: It’s Football Time!!!

I like to watch College Football.

Especially, now that my Alma Mater, the University of Memphis, has a great couch, in Justin Fuente, and a solid team, which won the American Athletic Conference, last year.

But, I digress…

Part of American Football, on all levels, has always been the Team Prayer.

It has never, in American Culture, been though of as offensive, but rather, a sign of character and camaraderie.

However, there is an organization of bitter individuals, who are somehow offended by Football Players praying as a team to The One Who Made Them.

According to the Christian Post,

Earlier in August, the FFRF condemned more than 25 public universities for allowing football colleges to impose personal religion on players.

“Only 54 percent of college-aged Americans are Christian and many of the teams investigated have non-Christian players, but 100 percent of the chaplains investigated are promoting Christianity, usually with an Evangelical bent. These chaplains preach religious doctrine, including apparently Creationism, to the athletes,” FFRF said in its statement.

“Chaplains regularly lead the teams in prayer, conduct chapel services, and more. These religious activities are not voluntary, as the universities claim, because, as the report notes, ‘student athletes are uniquely susceptible to coercion from coaches,'” the atheist group adds, noting that its 25-page report took over a year of investigation to put together.

The FFRF has further accused Christian coaches and chaplains of “converting football fields into mission fields,” and said that public universities must adopt policies that protect athletes from “unlawful religious coercion.”

The ACLJ argued, however, that the “radical atheists” of the FFRF are “anything but freethinkers.”

“They do not support freethinking. Instead, they attack things they don’t like, such as chaplains for football teams where adults voluntarily agree to participate in faith-based events and meetings,” the conservative law group continued.

“What does FFRF’s so-called ‘model policy’ recommend? Hiring a counselor who can provide secular advice and life guidance. Just as they’ve done before, the FFRF attacks traditional faiths and wants to replace them with their radical, leftist, secular orthodoxy,” it added.

The FFRF has been active in sending letters to public educational institutions across the country, urging them to respect the church and state separation.

Earlier this summer, the atheist organization forced two different middle schools, one in Kansas and one in Ohio, to take down a painting of Jesus Christ displayed publicly before students.

Kansas’ Royster Middle School Superintendent Richard Proffitt said that he had no choice but to take down the painting after receiving the FFRF complaint.

“I conferred with legal counsel and both of them told me to be in compliance with state and federal law that we had to have it removed,” Proffitt said.

Who is the Freedom of Religious Foundation (FFRF) and why should they be concerned about Collegiate Football Teams participating in prayer?

According to their website:

The purposes of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, Inc., as stated in its bylaws, are to promote the constitutional principle of separation of state and church, and to educate the public on matters relating to nontheism.

…First Amendment violations are accelerating. The religious right is campaigning to raid the public till and advance religion at taxpayer expense, attacking our secular public schools, the rights of nonbelievers, and the Establishment Clause.

The Foundation recognizes that the United States was first among nations to adopt a secular Constitution. The founders who wrote the U.S. Constitution wanted citizens to be free to support the church of their choice, or no religion at all. Our Constitution was very purposefully written as a godless document, whose only references to religion are exclusionary.

It is vital to buttress the Jeffersonian “wall of separation between church and state” which has served our nation so well.

Funny.  Jefferson was a faithful attendant of Sunday Church that was held at the Capitol Building.  He once explained to a friend while they were walking to church together:

No nation has ever existed or been governed without religion. Nor can be. The Christian religion is the best religion that has been given to man and I, as Chief Magistrate of this nation, am bound to give it the sanction of my example.

He also proclaimed

I have always said and always will say that the studious perusal of the Sacred Volume will make us better citizens.

But, I digress…

Back in August of 2011, this same bitter bunch of Atheists sent a letter to the Schools Superintendent of Desoto County, Mississippi, insisting that the pre-game prayer, spoken over the stadiums’ loudspeakers, a tradition held in DeSoto County as long as anyone can remember,  be silenced.

DeSoto County Schools went along with the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s request, despite the disappointment of many students and parents.

And that’s when Americans started organizing.

Y’see, teammates traditionally would take a knee after the game to thank the Lord for a good game and His blessings and to pray for those injured during the game.  And their parents were bound and determined that their young men were not going to have that freedom taken away from them.

So, the next Friday night, instead of the coach telling the team to take a knee, the quarterback did.

Earlier, on Friday morning, students and parents held a prayer walk outside DeSoto County Schools.

As the bright, blessed day gave way to the dark, sacred night in DeSoto County, parents and students began to pray.

According to student Paige Lewis:

If they’re saying that we can’t pray over a loudspeaker, then we’re going to pray alone.

Earlier in the week, The Freedom From Religion Foundation had sent a second letter to School Superintendent Milton Kuykendall.  They not only asked the district to stop praying before school events, but also demanded an apology for the comments the superintendent made in a letter sent out earlier this week.

Cheeky, huh?

These bitter whiners were upset that Kuykendall wrote:

In my opinion, most people do not realize that this organization out of Wisconsin doesn’t really care if we have prayer in our schools. They see an opportunity to try and accuse us of breaking the law and therefore give them a chance to sue our district and win a lawsuit and take millions of our funds. This is money that is needed to pay teachers and educate our students.

In March of 2013, the Governor of Mississippi signed into law, State House Bill 683

What this law does is to allow students to initiate prayers in school and at student activities, to reference their religious beliefs in their schoolwork, both their assignments completed at school and their homework, as well. The bill also allows Mississippi’s students to speak to their classmates about their faith, to “give their witness” as we believers refer to our own personal testimony as to what God has done in our lives.

I make no bones about it. I am a Christian American Conservative. I pray daily. As I write this, I have just returned from a Church-Sponsored “Small Group Meeting” in someone’s home on a Tuesday night.

If it were up to Barack Hussein Obama and the rest of Modern “Liberals”, I would be forced to leave my faith every Sunday morning at the church door. What they don’t understand, is, the Author and Finisher of my faith is not Obama or anyone else up there on Capitol Hill, the Main Stream Media, or any self-proclaimed Liberal Political Pundit and newly-minted “Biblical Expert”.

I answer to Someone waaay about their pay grade.

Liberals, or “Progressives”, do not understand Christians at all. They believe that our faith is something that can be taken off and put back on again, as one would a shirt.

Groups like the FFDF believe that using the Obama Administration’s IRS and friling frivolous lawsuits against Christian Americans is somehow going to impede the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by American Believers.

They don’t have a clue.

Hattiesburg, Baltimore, and Subway

AFBrancoFallen12272014Those of us living here in the State of Mississippi are mourning the deaths of two of our Finest.

The New York Times reports that

Law enforcement officials in Mississippi said Sunday that they had arrested four people after the fatal shooting of two police officers in Hattiesburg, and that two of the suspects had been charged with capital murder.

The officers were shot about 8 p.m. Saturday during a traffic stop, the police said. They were taken to Forrest General Hospital, where they died shortly after their arrival.

The Forrest County coroner, Butch Benedict, identified the officers as Benjamin Deen, 34, a K-9 officer, and Liquori Tate, 25, a 2014 graduate of the police academy. One of their police cars was stolen after the shooting and was found abandoned a few blocks away, investigators said.

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety announced on Sunday that Marvin Banks, 29, and Joanie Calloway, 22, had each been charged with two counts of capital murder, and that Mr. Banks’s brother, Curtis Banks, 26, had been charged with two counts of accessory after the fact of capital murder. At a news conference on Sunday afternoon, the mayor of Hattiesburg, Johnny L. DuPree, said a fourth suspect had been arrested. He was identified as Cornelius Clark, 28. Officials said Mr. Clark, who was charged with obstruction of justice, had been a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

“We were able to catch these individuals and keep our promise to the officers’ families with the public’s help,” Mr. DuPree said at the news conference. “No parent wants to bury their child before them,” the mayor added. “And here we are on Mother’s Day. It’s a tragedy for all America. It’s a tragedy for our community.”

A spokesman for the Hattiesburg Police Department, Lt. Jon Traxler, said that both brothers are residents of Hattiesburg, and that each had been convicted of felony drug and weapons charges.

The shooting was still being investigated Sunday, and the authorities could provide only limited details. The fatal encounter began in an industrial area when Officer Deen pulled over a motorist for speeding, officials said. Ms. Calloway was in the driver’s seat and that Marvin Banks was a passenger, said Warren Strain, a spokesman for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

Officer Tate arrived after Officer Deen radioed for backup, and they put a call out for more help just before shots were fired from the stopped vehicle, Mr. DuPree said.

The suspects fled after the shooting, Mr. Strain said — Ms. Calloway in the vehicle that was stopped and Mr. Banks in one of the police cruisers.

In addition to the capital murder charges, Marvin Banks was charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and with grand theft.

The New York Post reports that

A suspected Subway sandwich store employee has sparked outrage with tasteless social media posts celebrating Saturday’s killing of two Mississippi cops.

“2 police officers was shot in hattiesburg tonight.!” cheered Sierra “C-Babi” Mccurdy, in a message posted overnight.

“We can turn this bxtch into Baltimore real quick,” she posted on Facebook. “Police take away innocent people lives everyday now & get away w/ it, fxck them…[no mercy].”

Twitter users expressed outrage at her remarks — and that the sandwich giant would have a person like that working for them.

“Wow. This piece of trash was celebrating the death of two policeman in Hattiesburg. Your [employee], @Subway,” one person tweeted.

Hattiesburg police officers Benjamin Deen, 34, and Liquori Tate, 25, were gunned down in the line of duty during a routine traffic stop Saturday night.

The Washington Post published the following paragraphs in an article posted on August 29, 2014.

An average person cannot comprehend the risks and has no true understanding of a cop’s job. Hollywood and television stereotypes of the police are cartoons in which fearless super cops singlehandedly defeat dozens of thugs, shooting guns out of their hands. Real life is different. An average cop is always concerned with his or her safety and tries to control every encounter. That is how we are trained. While most citizens are courteous and law abiding, the subset of people we generally interact with everyday are not the genteel types. You don’t know what is in my mind when I stop you. Did I just get a radio call of a shooting moments ago? Am I looking for a murderer or an armed fugitive? For you, this might be a “simple” traffic stop, for me each traffic stop is a potentially dangerous encounter. Show some empathy for an officer’s safety concerns. Don’t make our job more difficult than it already is.

Community members deserve courtesy, respect and professionalism from their officers. Every person stopped by a cop should feel safe instead of feeling that their wellbeing is in jeopardy. Shouldn’t the community members extend the same courtesy to their officers and project that the officer’s safety is not threatened by their actions? – Sunil Dutta, Ph.D., is a 17-year-veteran police officer in Los Angeles. Somehow, America’s Professional Race-Baiters, from the Community Organizer-in-Chief, Barack Hussein Obama, on down, have twisted the the facts and jumped to conclusions, refusing America’s Law Enforcement Officers’ their Due Process and, instead, immediately assuming that it was their fault that three thugs got themselves killed in altercations with police officers.

And, now. at least one person with no hope training is actually cheering the fact to two innocent Police Officers in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, were gunned down in cold blood.

What ever happened to personal responsibility?

President Obama, for his own political reasons, reinforces, at every opportunity, the self-fulfilling prophecy that the Black Community is still shackled and limited in their freedom.

Which is an ironic statement, considering, as a Black man, that he presently holds the position of President of the most powerful country on the face of the Earth.

On November 25th,2014, The Daily Caller reported that

Retired neurosurgeon and potential GOP 2016 candidate Ben Carson believes race relations in America, as a whole, have “gotten worse” under President Barack Obama’s leadership, saying he should take a ”balanced, objective look at things” instead of invoking the race card.

Carson made the comments to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt Tuesday night.

“I actually believe that things were better before this president was elected,” Carson told Hewitt, “and I think that things have gotten worse because of his unusual emphasis on race.”

“Can you explain more? What do you mean by that?” asked Hewitt. “How did they get worse, and how did he contribute to it?”

“Well, for instance, in the incident with Henry Louis Gates, Skip Gates and him calling out the police, and you know, how they always do this kind of thing, and the Trayvon Martin case, you know, if I had a son, this is what he would look like, rather than trying to take the balanced, objective look at things, and then, you know, what’s happened here,” responded Carson.

“And then the way, which really irritates me to some degree, the way he and a bunch of progressives manipulate, particularly minority communities, to make them feel that they are victims. And of course if you think you’re a victim, you are a victim,” Carson continued.

Back in High School, during the 1974-1975 school year, I was a Sophomore Commissioner on the Student Council with a fellow named James. James was one of those students who were bused to our school. He went on to play football and run track. More importantly, James went on to have a 4.5 GPA, make a 32 on his ACT, and receive a full scholarship to Harvard, and later, went on to Johns Hopkins Medical School. James worked hard and he achieved.

Millions of other Black Americans have, as well.

The current race-baiting and racially-based pandering by the President, his Administration, and all those who profit from it, locally and nationally, dishonors those who have achieved and has constrained those who might otherwise achieve.

The ignorant young Subway Worker in Mississippi, who, by the way, was fired for her stupidity, is just one example.

It needs to stop. Now.

MLK, “The Great Society”, And The Vanishing Black Family Unit

AFBrancoBlackLeadereship12114Tomorrow is a national holiday, celebrating the birthday of Civil Rights Pioneer, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Somewhere, up in heaven, he is shaking his head in mournful embarrassment.

As a lifelong (56 years young) resident of the Memphis area, I continue to witness the dissolution of the once strong and proud Black American Family Unit.

I am also, as are most of you, bearing witness to Black and White Liberal Politicians making excuses for the out-of-control, self-inflicted genocide of 13% of America’s Population, as they blame it on “Racial Inequality”, while a Black Man sits behind a desk in the Oval Office at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, holding the most powerful leadership position in the Free World.

America’s Far Left Political Activists, including the President of the United States, are presently attempting, what is known in both sports and military strategy, as a “misdirection” play.

Whil these politicians and paid protesters shout about “equality” in front of every television camera that they can get in front of, at the same time, here in the real world, black children are being born into a situation which handicaps them from the start: the burden of an illegitimate birth and the reality of a fatherless home.

How many black children are being born out of wedlock?

Among non-Hispanic blacks, the figure is highest, at 72.2 percent; for American Indians/Alaska Natives, it’s 66.9 percent; 53.5 percent for Hispanics; 29.4 percent for non-Hispanic whites; and a mere 17.1 percent for Asians/Pacific Islanders.

These Americans, unlike the majority of us, are growing up without appropriate parental guidance, i.e., no one teaching them “the way in which they should go”

What are the consequences of growing up without a strong Father figure?

The Memphis CBS Affiliate, WREG, has a story which provides an example.

A large fight broke out in the McDonald’s located at Bull Frog Corner in Horn Lake (Mississippi, a Memphis suburb) Tuesday night.

Staff at the restaurant say tensions between rival gangs sparked the fight. One adult and one juvenile are facing charges, but people who have seen the video tell WREG they think more than just two people should be in trouble for all of this.

Video taken inside the restaurant is shaky, but you can clearly see kids fighting, throwing fists, and screaming, and the onlookers not backing away.

Michael Little couldn’t believe what he saw as he watched the video. He lives in Horn Lake and goes to that McDonald’s restaurant all the time.

Horn Lake and Southaven High School faced off on the basketball court Tuesday night, and police knew to be on alert because people who go to the game are known to fight after.

Chief Darryl Whaley with Horn Lake Police said, “We had heard there was potentially going to be some problems after this game either at the school or the McDonald’s. We were covering both locations.”

Police say they offered to help McDonald’s managers clear out the crowd, but they said no. Moments later, the fight broke out. No injuries were reported.

McDonald’s employees tell WREG the fight was between two local gangs, and this isn’t the first time they caused problems at this restaurant. Police arrested Anthony Williams, also known as Twin, and a juvenile. They don’t expect to make any more arrests, but locals are questioning that call.

“Just from the video. It looked like there were a lot of people in there fighting,” Little said.

Folks in Horn Lake say this kind of behavior is not what they want their city to be known for.

“Everybody who lives here knows that doesn’t happen every day.” Little said.

He says he won’t forget what he saw in this video for quite some time.

WREG reached out to the McDonald’s managers, but didn’t hear back. Employees expect this fight will spark another one, possibly on Friday night.

Why is this happening? How did we get here?

Back in the 60s, President Lyndon Johnson (whose big hand I once shook, at his ranch, as a little boy, after his presidential term) and the Democrats, brought forth a plan, called “the Great Society”. It was decided, in order to ensure that everyone would have an equal opportunity in America, that Uncle Sugar would step in to fill in the gaps.

Two seminal pieces of legislation were passed.

First, the Civil Rights Bill that JFK promised to sign, before his assassination, was passed into law. This Act banned discrimination based on race and gender in employment and ending segregation in all public facilities.

It also helped to cement in stone, minorities’ loyalty to the Democratic Party, which continues to this day.

The second bill that LBJ signed into law was the sweeping ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY ACT OF 1964. It created the Office of Economic Opportunity whose stated purpose was to attack the roots of American poverty. A Job Corps was then established to provide vocational training.

A preschool program designed to help disadvantaged students arrive at kindergarten ready to learn, named HEADSTART, was then established. Then came VOLUNTEERS IN SERVICE TO AMERICA (VISTA), which was set up as a domestic Peace Corps. Schools in impoverished American regions would now receive volunteer teaching attention. Federal funds were sent to struggling communities to attack unemployment and illiteracy.

What Johnson told Americans, as he campaigned in 1964, was that the establishment of this “Great Society” was going to eliminate the problems of America’s poor.

It had the opposite effect

The Great Society created a dependent class, which, instead of diminishing as it’s members joined the workforce, increased from generation to generation, relying on the federal government to provide their every need.

Uncle Sugar became Mother, Father, Preacher, and Doctor to generations of Americans. This “plantation mentality” continues to this day.

A couple of years ago, I worked at our county’s State Employment Center Office.

While at the Employment Office, I was able to observe Americans, both Black and White, down on their luck, struggling to find work and survive in this economy. Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of “unemployed ” who came to this particular office were Black.

I saw Black American Families whose existence living on the Government Dole, had become generational.

It is these people whom Obama and the Democrats have hypnotized into believing that Uncle Sugar loves them, and is their only solution to surviving a stifling existence.

They are so, so wrong.

The strength and vitality of America does not come from the benevolence of a Nanny-state Federal Government.

As the greatest American President of my lifetime, Ronald Reagan said:

The nine words you never want to hear are: I’m from the Government and I’m here to help.

Being enslaved to the Government Dole steals one’s ambition. It takes away any impetus or desire to create a better life for yourself and your family, to challenge yourself to pick yourself up by your bootstraps and pursue the American Dream. It makes you reliant on a politically motivated spider’s web full of government bureaucrats who view you and your family as job security.

I watched American citizens trapped in this web of government bureaucracy, so numbed of any initiative that they once had, that they seemed offended that they actually had to prove that they inquired about three jobs that week in order to keep their “benefits”. Others seemed puzzled that they had to search through the state data base and pick out a job that they wanted to talk to an interviewer about receiving a referral to, and weren’t just simply handed a job when they walked through the door.

Instead of moving forward, by exercising the self-reliance that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. preached so well, these people I saw, were content on being “taken care of” by Uncle Sugar, as if being held down by their own poor, miserable circumstance, was a good thing.

Since August, the results of LBJ’s “Great Society” have been the lead story in every television newscast, on every newspaper front page, and on every internet news/political website.

Dr. King, I am sorry to tell you that racism and injustice is still going on in America. Unfortunately, it will not end any time soon, There are too many race-baiters profiting off of it.

Including, the President of the United States.

The part of your magnificent speech about “the content of their character” has been purposefully ignored by the professional race-baiters and assorted politicians (but, I repeat myself), once again, in the aftermath of the death pf Career Criminal Eric Garner.

Dr. King, your call for self-reliance took a back seat to their self-serving agenda, a long time ago.

Ferguson Fallout: Iraq Veteran Beaten in “Hate Crime”. Elections Have Consequences.

obamamyworkOn February 7, 2007, Roger Simon published excerpts from an interview he had conducted with Barack Hussein Obama, potential Democrat Candidate for the Presidency of the United States, on politico.com. Here is a pertinent part of that interview:

Q: Jesse Jackson made very explicit in his campaigns for president that a vote for him was a sign of racial healing in America. I don’t think I’ve ever heard you make it that explicit. Do you believe that the election of you, a black man, to the presidency in 2008 would show something good about America? Or healing?

Obama: The fact that I am in a position to run a credible race is a sign of enormous progress. The fact that people have taken this campaign seriously and we’ve got a chance to win is a testimony not only how far America has traveled but also the legacy of Jackson’s race and (Shirley) Chisholm’s race and Carol Moseley-Braun’s and (Al) Sharpton’s races. Each time the effort is made, certain barriers are broken. And I am a beneficiary.

Q: People say you are unthreatening. I have never heard a white candidate described as unthreatening as a compliment. What is that all about? Do you have to be unthreatening to get elected?

Obama: Well, look, our racial politics are complicated in this country. There are lots of wounds that are still healing. I think that it’s not something that I have to end up thinking about a lot explicitly. But because of my background and circumstances I have the potential at least of bringing people together who might feel suspicious towards each other. I am not sure that is just racial, by the way. It’s been noted that I come from the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, but throughout my career, I have always had extraordinarily good relations with very conservative colleagues. And that’s not because I agree with any of them or fudge on my positions, but people feel I listen to them and give them the benefit of the doubt. I assume the best of people. And that, I think, is an attitude that is maybe rare in politics these days. (He smiles.)

Q: Bill Bradley in his presidential campaign would always quote Toni Morrison as saying she looks forward to a world “where race exists but it doesn’t matter.” Is that the kind of world you want to see?

Obama: I would phrase it perhaps a little differently. I would love to see an America where race is understood in the same way that the ethnic diversity of the white population is understood. People take pride in being Irish-American and Italian-American. They have a particular culture that infuses the (whole) culture and makes it richer and more interesting. But it’s not something that determines people’s life chances and there is no sense of superiority or inferiority. I think if we can expand that attitude to embrace African-Americans and Latino-Americans and Asian-Americans, then we will be in a position where all our kids can feel comfortable with the worlds they are coming out of, knowing they are part of something larger.

Yeah. About that whole “racial healing” thingy.

WMC-TV, the NBC affiliate in Memphis reports the following. ..

West Point, Miss. – (WMC) – A 32-year-old Marine and Iraq war veteran attacked and beaten in what might be a hate crime.

Investigators say several men jumped Ralph Weems in a parking lot in West Point, Mississippi.

One man is in custody, but West Point Police Chief Tim Brinkley says there were more attackers. His department is developing a list and trying to bring them in for questioning.

The Associated Press reports that Weems’ friend and fellow veteran David Knighten says the beating was racially charged.

Knighten says someone outside a Waffle House told him politely that it was not a safe place for whites to be at the moment, because people inside were upset over the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

Knighten says Weems was inside arguing with some people. They both left and went to another restaurant.

A group of men followed them there. He says the men attacked both of them, shouting racial slurs during the attack.

Chief Brinkley says a hate crime carries an enhanced penalty, but adds, “It’s up to the Grand Jury to make this determination. All we do is process the evidence and turn the case over to the District Attorney, who in turn presents it to a Grand Jury. It’s within their discretion to add the hate crime enhancement.”

The case is still under investigation. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and state District Attorney’s Office both known about the ongoing investigation.

As I have written in previous posts, I was born, raised in, and lived for 39 years in Memphis, TN.  I now reside right across the state line (literally) in Southaven, MS, after former Mayor W.W. Herenton told middle class folks like myself that we were no longer welcome there.

I left out the aspect of race from the preceding paragraph as to not beat a dead horse, but racial division in this country is being used as a political tool in an attempt to “divide and conquer” (divide et impera) through a deliberate campaign strategy by Obama and his minions, reinforced by Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice.

In fact, today’s Liberals use Racism as both a sword and a shield.

As Americans witnessed last week in the town of Ferguson, Missouri, Liberals will shamelessly use any situation involving a perceived “Racial Act”, fact or fiction, to strengthen their ties with the Black Voting Bloc.

Additionally, if you attack Obama’s performance as President, or any other Liberal Black Leader’s performance, Liberals will deflect their incompetency, but claiming that you’re a RAAACIIIST! 

 President Ronald Reagan once said,

President Obama, for his own political reasons, reinforces, at every opportunity, the self-fulfilling prophecy that the Black Community is still shackled and limited in their freedom.

Which is an ironic statement, considering, as a Black man, that he presently holds the position of President of the most powerful country on the face of the Earth.

Back in High School, during the 1974-1975 school year, I was a Sophomore Commissioner on the Student Council with a fellow named James. James was one of those students who were bused to our school. He went on to play football and run track. More importantly, James went on to have a 4.5 GPA,  make a 32 on his ACT, and receive a full scholarship to Harvard, and later, went on to Johns Hopkins Medical School. James worked hard and he achieved.

Millions of other Black Americans have, as well.

The current race-baiting and racially-based pandering by the President and his Administration dishonors those who have achieved and has constrained those who might otherwise achieve.

The Mississippi Malfeasance and The Battle For the Soul of America

Last night, as I was watching a PBS “Beg-a-thon”, featuring a “My Music” Rewind of the hits of the 50s and early 60s, hosted by Jon “Bowzer” Bauman, of the legendary Oldies Cover Group, Sha Na Na, I was multi-tasking and carrying on a “discussion” , concerning the Chris McDaniel/Thad Cochran Kerfuffle, which I have dubbed the “Mississippi Malfeasance”, on one of my favorite Facebook Political Pages, on my phone.

The fellow that I was “conversing” with, flat-out told me that I should shut up and support feeble old Thad Cochran and the rest of the Establishment Republicans, even though they just screwed us Conservatives in Mississippi, because it is an important Senate Seat, and it is essential to hold onto it, in order for Republicans to gain control of the Senate this November in the Mid-Term Elections.

I told the gentleman that it was easy for him to write that advice, as he did not have to live down here in the Magnolia State.

As a Mississippian, I have lost all faith in my state’s Republican Party. As regular readers know, I have gone after the out-of-touch National GOP Establishment incessantly, bestowing upon them the title of “Vichy Republicans”. However, in my naiveté, it never occurred to me that a politician from the Magnolia State, where we pride ourselves on our gentlemanly manners and Christian upbringing, could be just a big a cold-hearted snake as the spineless Speaker of the House and that product of Chicago Backroom Politics, the fallen messiah in the White House.

Brother,was I wrong.

Political Corruption and moral ambivalence have become a national disease.

It troubles me to no end that, even though I know, in my heart of hearts, that there are plenty of average Americans who are just as upset over the dilapidated moral and fiscal condition of “the Shining City Upon a Hill” as I am, there are times when I feel like the little Dutch boy, with his finger in the dike, desperately trying to hold back the flood waters, which are about to destroy everything in its path.

I know that civilizations come and go. I am a student of history, and I have read about the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. Their incredibly advanced governmental, military, and architectural legacy was eclipsed by situational ethics, immorality. and governmental corruption, caused by enemies foreign and domestic.

Sound familiar?

The United States of America has been one of the most noble undertakings in the history of mankind.

Our Founding Fathers came here to escape religious persecution. Not to get away from religion , as both Liberals, and their unwitting dupes, attempt to claim as truth.

John Adams, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and Second President of the United States said..

It is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue.

…We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. . . . Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Benjamin Franklin, signer of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, said…

Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.

I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. So, how did we get to where we are?

Today 76% of Americans still believe that Jesus Christ is their personal Savior. You wouldn’t know that fact from exposure to our American Media, nor from following the anti-Christian actions of our present Administration.

I suppose that’s why the relative morality and the situational ethics displays by today’s “public servants” (and, some of their constituents) troubles me so greatly.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I want the Republicans to win back the Senate. However, with the Republican Establishment embracing the heathen philosophy of today’s Far Left-controlled Democrat Party, to quote that party’s probable next Presidential Candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton,

At this point, what difference does it make?

The desire to win an election should not cause a sitting Republican Senator to go out and screw his own constituency, the Conservative Base, like Thad Cochran, Haley Barbour, and the Establishment Republicans did in Mississippi.

Until the good ol’ boys in the Northeast Republicans’ Club, or Vichy Republicans, as I like to call them, realize that the majority of Americans out here in the Heartland are still Conservative “bitter clingers” who love God and country, they will be victims of their own hubris, and continue to lose elections.

And, it will be nobody’s fault but their own.

What causes the politicians, whom we elect as fresh-faced public servants, to become corrupted by power?

The problem is….man is a fallen creature. There was only one Perfect Man. We all fall short of the Glory of God.

Politicians, for all of their hubris, are simply men…and women.

And, we are all fallen creatures who fall short of the Glory of God.

There will be no escape for America from this downward spiral we find ourselves in, without Revival in the Land.

Just as addicts, going through the 12-step program, are told to reach out for spiritual help, so should we, as a sovereign nation, bought with the sweat and blood of our fallen, who fought for an ideal much greater than themselves, so that this Blessed Land, UNDER GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all, should not perish from the face of God’s green Earth, seek the help of the God of our Fathers, to reclaim The Promise that is America.

So, here’s some advice for my fellow “Political Junkies”: When you ask this Christian American Conservative to sit down and shut up about political corruption, consisting of relative morality and situational ethics, just remember: I don’t answer to you. I answer to Someone with a higher paygrade.

Cochran’s Pyrrhic Victory: Bribery, Racism, and Fear…Oh, My!

The fallout continues, as more and more information pours in, as to how incumbent Mississippi Republican Senator Thad Cochran achieved his victory in Monday night’s Primary Election against TEA Party Candidate Chris McDaniel.

The truth ain’t pretty.

The New York Times reported that

With an unusual assist from African-American voters and other Democrats who feared his opponent, Senator Thad Cochran on Tuesday beat back a spirited challenge from State Senator Chris McDaniel, triumphing in a Republican runoff and defeating the Tea Party in the state where the movement’s hopes were bright.

“We all have a right to be proud of our state tonight,” Mr. Cochran said at his victory party in Jackson, Miss. “This is your victory.”

Mr. McDaniel, speaking in Hattiesburg, was angry, and he did not hesitate to say so. “There is something a bit strange, there is something a bit unusual about a Republican primary that’s decided by liberal Democrats,” he said.

He accused Mr. Cochran of abandoning the conservative movement. “So much for principles,” he said.

Mr. McDaniel, an uncompromising conservative, relied on the muscle of outside groups and the enthusiasm of conservative voters who are weary of Mr. Cochran’s old-school Washington ways.

The 76-year-old senator ran a largely sleepy campaign until the primary on June 3, when he was edged out by Mr. McDaniel but won enough votes to keep his opponent from outright victory. Mr. Cochran, who is seeking his seventh term, used the past three weeks to turn out Democratic voters — especially African-Americans — to make up that deficit.

Which begs the question: Why would a bunch of Black Democrats down here in Mississippi, vote for a 76-year-old “cracka”, who bills himself as a “Conservative Republican”?

Back on June 17th, Breitbart News reported the following:

Rickey Cole, the chairman of the Mississippi Democratic Party, says Cochran’s allies are paying Democratic operatives to help get out the vote with a questionable tactic.

“Pete Perry” – the chairman of the Hinds County Republican Party – “is paying James ‘Scooby Doo’ Warren thousands of dollars to funnel to black preachers and others to get-out-the-vote for Cochran,” Cole wrote in a Facebook message sent to a top aide of state Sen. Chris McDaniel’s campaign, Ric McCluskey, just after midnight Tuesday.

“Large sums of cash are being passed around. These guys are old school ‘walking around money’ vote buyers,” Cole wrote in the message, obtained by Breitbart News, adding, “Need some out of state media to put some heavy scrutiny on Pete asap.”

In a phone interview, Cole confirmed he made the allegations and that he thinks there should be an investigation. “I can’t prove any of it yet,” Cole said. “This is just what I had heard. It think it warrants investigating, because I don’t know all of the details on it I just got word that James [‘Scooby Doo’ Warren] was bragging that he got money.”

“The reason I sent that text is because I wanted the McDaniel people to know that there was an effort out here ongoing to mobilize Democratic voters to vote for Cochran,” Cole added. “That’s simply because I don’t like the idea of Democrats voting in the Republican primary or Republicans voting in the Democratic primary. I believe members of each party should vote in their own primaries.”

Warren confirmed to the Clarion-Ledger that he is working for Cochran, and got approval from Washington, D.C., Democrats to do so. “I called D.C. and told them what was going on with the tea party,” Warren said. “But I can’t do anything after the 24th because I’m a Democrat … Whoever wins will have to deal with me in November.”

In the story, Warren is not quoted addressing allegations of impropriety from Cole.

In an interview Monday, Perry said he hopes that money routed through him won’t end up used to pay for votes.

When asked if he thinks there’s payments for votes happening in this election, Perry said that “I certainly hope not” adding that while he’s “been against that all my life since the 60s” he has “seen it done and I’m totally against it.”

And, if paying them off did not motivate Black Democrats to vote for an old White Republican, the Cochran Campaign used another time-proven tactic.

The undisputed Godfather of Conservative Radio Talk Show Hosts, Rush Limbaugh, said the following about this disgusting flyer on his program , yesterday:

Now, it would be one thing if the Democrats did that. They do it every election cycle anyway. But for them to be joined, even if from a distance, by the Republican establishment here, simply confirms what we have long said on this program about establishment Washington. It is ruling class vs. country class. It’s elites vs. the plebes. You and me are the plebes, and they are the elites, and they are aligning together.

My friend Mark Levin, F. Lee Levin, makes the point that Washington is not going to be fixed from Washington. This proves it, if there was any proof needed. Washington is not going to be fixed in Washington. The establishment is going to align itself every which way it can against any outside challenger, like this Tea Party candidate. But it does look like African-Americans.

Democrat African-Americans really did secure the victory for Thad Cochran in a Republican primary. So here we have a result that is not representative of the Republican Party thinking in Mississippi. The technique that was used and the manner in which this was achieved is reprehensible.

With Friends Like These, Who Needs Liberals?

As we pointed out last week (see: http://t.co/y8T64iZQyR), there were several potentially illegal political games afoot in Mississippi to motivate Democrat voters to “switch” over to the GOP for a day to help save a 42 year Republican member of Congress. On top of that, millions of dollars from out of state liberal billionaires like Mike Bloomberg poured in at the last minute on that same incumbent’s behalf. You have to ask yourself why? When a primary election is lost fairly, I am all for unifying behind the victor and joining forces to fight in November. When an election is questionable, with potential legal violations, politics MUST be put aside and the irregularities MUST be fully investigated. Regardless of party, we owe it to voters and to democracy within our Republic. The integrity of the vote speaks directly to the integrity of those who serve and the trust we ask the American public to put in our institutions. I told Chris McDaniel last night that I stand with his effort to get to the bottom of this – he needs to know average, but tremendously concerned, citizens want to make sure the integrity of last night’s results in Mississippi are verified. Voting shenanigans never cease to amaze, but they had better cease altogether for the sake of ethical elections. And any GOP “architect” behind these abhorrent voting shenanigans should be ashamed of this Pyrrhic victory for the establishment. If we find out it’s true that some of the characters alleged to have masterminded this Mississippi hijacking are the same ones who’ve tried to destroy other Republicans’ careers, they need to be taken to task and only be hired by unethical campaigns. Fool us once, shame on you; fool us twice, shame on us. And if any news organization ignores a free and fair elections issue like this, than whether left-leaning or center right, their silence will speak volumes.

The War Against Christianity: The Gay Mafia, The Far Left, and The “Selfish” Generation

WashingtonPrayingMy Christianity has always played an important part of my life. In fact, that it’s probably an understatement.

Without Christ, I would be nothing.

He lifts me out of the valley and carries me to the mountaintop.

He restores my soul.

I have made it no secret that I live in the NW corner of Mississippi, across Stateline Road from my hometown of Memphis Tennessee.

Last Thursday, the governor of my state, Phil Bryant, signed a bill into law in an effort to ensure that intolerant liberals such as the Gay Mafia, backed by a Liberal Federal Government, will not be able to stop me from exercising my right as an American to speak my mind and worship God as I please. The bill states that government cannot put a substantial burden on the practice of religion. For example, the government could not pass a Zoning Law which would limit the location of where someone could place a church or synagogue while not limiting the location of secular businesses.

Liberals who are bent on protesting this, will prove themselves to be the hypocrites that they already are, as this law mirrors the Religious Freedom Restoration Act that Liberal President Bill Clinton signed into law in 1993.

My mind has been on my Christian faith this morning, as it has been the rest of this week.

Boys and girls, if you haven’t noticed yet, America is being torn apart around us.

We have a president who embraces the practice of murdering babies in the womb, and declares that deviant sexual practices, which were one of the factors which led to the downfall of ancient Greece and ancient Rome, are healthy, normal, as a “Civil Right”.

What’s next?

Your Honor, my German Shepherd and I want to get married. We are in love.

We have our brightest and best getting gunned down on our military bases in this country, because Liberal mealy-mouthed politicians do not trust them to carry a sidearm, at the same time that they are asking them to go overseas and die for our country.

Does that make any kind of sense to you? What in the Wild, Wild World of Sports is a’goin’ on around here?

I believe it all starts at home.

This current generation has, in many cases, been raised without knowing Jesus Christ, or if their parents tried to introduce them to Him, they became seduced by popular culture, and tossed their parents’ Christian Faith aside, because it actually required them to exercise individual responsibility, moral courage, and humility, which involves caring for someone other than yourself.

Popular culture teaches that no one is more important than you are and that self-absorbed philosophy is what we are seeing being played out before our eyes today.

We have raised a generation of spoiled brats who have grown into selfish adults.

Just look at the actions of the Gay Mafia and their supporters, who forced Mozilla CEO Brendon Eich out of his job this week in a selfish and cruel act, designed to grab power over the faith practiced by the majority of American citizens.

Growing up, I always noticed that the worst bullies were actually intolerant little nobodies who wanted you to feel as miserable as they did.

That is what is behind this push by intolerant Liberals to attempt to force Christians to only practice the Faith of Our Fathers from 9 a.m. To 12 p.m. on Sunday mornings.

Just as other fascists before them, the thought of an omnipresent God interferes with their belief that they are the most important thing in the universe.

You see, as long as they are the master of their own destiny, which in fact they are, because God gives us free will, their selfish behavior and their sinful lifestyle, present no personal consequences to them, and therefore, do not keep them awake at night. And yet, when you enter into a conversation with a member of this hedonistic generation, you soon find out that they aren’t as personally happy with their lifestyle choices, as they want you to believe that they are. Consequently, as I said earlier in this post, this whole effort by political and social liberals alike, to push this new set of morals values and ethics on average Christian Americans, stems from the fact that they are all miserable, selfish, little cretins, who want their poor lifestyle choices validated and deemed as normal.

America remains 78% Christian. And, this fact drives the Far left, including the “Selfish Generation”, absolutely crazy….and desperate.

Desperate times lead to desperate measures. Hence, this full-bore push, from the White House on down, to minimize the roles which Christian Americans play in Popular Culture, and American Society, as a whole.

That is the reason that schoolchildren are being told that they cannot mention Jesus in their schoolwork and our Best and Brightest are being told that they cannot tell others about Him during the performance of their duties.

Unfortunately, for the Gay Mafia and the other members of the Far Left, including those in DC, Christians won’t be listening to them.

American Heroes Bust Blockade at WWII Memorial. Petulant President and Congressional Minions Retaliate.

In his petulance, the 44th President of the United States, decided to close our National Parks, in order to make Americans suffer for his inability to lead.

However, thanks to some Republican House Members, including some from the Magnolia State, where I live, our Petulant President’s Plans were thwarted…at least for yesterday.

What was meant to be a final gathering of heroes Tuesday instead became a final victory for dozens of World War II combat vets who refused to let the government’s budget battle block a visit to their memorial in the nation’s capital.

With bagpipers playing “Amazing Grace,” nearly 200 veterans from Mississippi and Iowa swept past barricades and security guards at the World War II Memorial in Washington in order to keep a commitment to visit the site, which was closed today due to the partial government shutdown. The veterans, in their 80s and 90s, were accompanied by Rep. Steven Palazzo, R-Miss., a former Marine who earlier vowed not to let the National Park Police keep them from a planned visit to the open-air monument.

“Well, I would have been so down-and-out if I got all the way up here and wasn’t able to get in,” Navy veteran Oscar Leroy Russell, 90, who is blind after he suffered a stroke, told FoxNews.com.

Some veterans on hand wiped away tears when they saw a crowd waving the American flag as they came out of their bus.

“These men and women didn’t cower to the Japanese and Germans,” Palazzo said. “I don’t think they’re about to let a few National Park Police stand in their way.”

Palazzo, who was joined by several other members of Congress, moved the barricades at the memorial and police did not try to stop the veterans’ access.

“I’m not going to enforce the ‘no stopping or standing’ sign for a group of 90 World War II veterans,” a U.S. Park Police officer, who declined to give his name, told The Washington Post. “I’m a veteran myself.”

The veterans are traveling as part of Honor Flight, a program that enables World War II veterans to partake in an expense-paid trip to view the memorial. Tuesday’s trip is the second-to-last flight, with the last scheduled for November. But prior to their arrival early Tuesday, there was fear that the government shutdown and federal worker furloughs would mean no access to the monuments on the National Mall.

But with lawmakers leading the charge, the American military heroes, some in wheelchairs, surged into the memorial.

“It’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission,” Palazzo said. “We lined the veterans up along the blockade, we saw an opening and we took it.”

When I read what had happened yesterday morning, in Washington DC, at the World War II Memorial, my eyes teared up.

Allow me to try to explain why.

D-Day, also called the Battle of Normandy, was fought on June 6, 1944, between the Allied nations and German forces occupying Western Europe.

The codename for the invasion was Operation Overlord. The assault phase was known as Operation Neptune. Operation Neptune began on D-Day (June 6, 1944) and ended on June 30. Operation Overlord also began on D-Day, and ended with the crossing of the River Seine on August 19.

Less than 15 percent of the young men called upon to sacrifice their lives for our freedom in the invasion had ever seen combat.

Basically, the invasion of Normandy was a success, due to sheer force of numbers. By July 1944, some one million Allied troops, mostly American, British, and Canadian, were entrenched in Normandy. During the great invasion, the Allies assembled nearly three million men and stored 16 million tons of arms, munitions, and supplies in Britain.

Among the young men who stepped off those boats, in a hail of gunfire, was a fellow named Edward, whom everyone called Ned, from the small town of Helena, Arkansas.  Already in his young life, Ned had been forced to drop out of school in the sixth grade, in order to work at the local movie theatre to help support his mother, brother, and sister faced with the ravages of the Great Depression.

He was a gentle man who loved to laugh and sing, having recorded several 78 rpm records in the do-it-yourself booths of the day. And now, he found himself, a Master Sergeant in an Army Engineering Unit, stepping off a boat into the unknown, watching his comrades being mercilessly gunned down around him.

Ned, along with the rest of his unit who survived the initial assault, would go on to assist in the cleaning out of the Concentration Camps, bearing witness to man’s inhumanity to man.

The horrors he saw had a profound effect on Ned.  One that he would keep to himself for the remainder of his life.  While his children knew that he served with an Engineering Unit in World War II, they did not know the full extent of his service, until they found his medal, honoring his participation in the Invasion of Normandy, going through his belongings after he passed away on December 29, 1997.

Fast forward 22 years later…

On a night in 1966, a 7-year-old was laying on his family’s den couch in Memphis, TN, watching his favorite TV Series “Batman” with a fever of 105, brought about by a severe bronchial infection. Tending to that sick child were 3 veterans of World War II: his Daddy, a Master Sergeant with the Army Engineers, his Uncle “R” (Robert), US Air Force, and his Uncle Perriman, a full-blooded Indian from Albuquerque, who was an Army Corpsman.

Those three veterans, now all gone, took turns putting cold wash cloths under the child’s arms and on his forehead, until his fever finally broke, sometime during the night.

That child was me.

And, the young hero who stepped off of a perfectly good boat, into a hail of gunfire, fighting for our freedom, was my Daddy.

I was privileged to be raised by members of the Greatest Generation. The legacy that they gave to me of love of God, Family, and Country is a heritage that I hold very dear.

Just as it happened with Obama’s petulant actions regarding Sequestration, in which he stopped White House tours for average Americans, but kept access open for Muslim Terrorists and Lobbyists and cancelled all public appearances of the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds, Obama’s cancellation of public activities, involving “government property”, which in fact was bought and paid for by OUR TAX DOLLARS, during this “Government Shutdown, is nothing but a public display of petulance, by a President having a temper tantrum, because he did not get his way.

Just as elections have consequences, so do actions. Obama’s performance during his tenure as President of the United States has been marked by an ego-driven petulance, which has brought shame to the Office of the Presidency and has affected the way our country is viewed throughout the world.

His supporters in Congress, going through life with their heads firmly planted where “the sun don’t shine”, last night defeated a bill proposed by the House Republicans to grant access to all the thousands of WWII Veterans already scheduled to come to DC during the Shutdown, blocking these American Heroes from visiting the Memorial built to honor them.

We owe those brave American heroes, whom Obama and Congressional Democrats, are treating with disdain, our utmost respect, admiration, and loyalty for defending our freedom.

We owe our Petulant President and his Congressional minions, nothing…but scorn.

Terry McAuliffe and the Greentech Automotive Scandal…A Mississippian’s Perspective

terrymcauliffeBack in the days after the Civil War, Mississippi, among other states, in what was formerly the Confederacy, was invaded by a bunch of  scalawags, known as “carpetbaggers”, because of the kind of luggage they carried with them.

Well, y’all, recently the Magnolia State got suckered by another one of “them critters.” Pull yourself a chair up, get cozy, and let ol’ KJ tell you all about him.

Terry McAuliffe is an American businessman, fundraiser, politician, and former chairman of the Democratic Party. He served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2001 to 2005 and served as co-chairman of President Bill Clinton’s 1996 re-election campaign and as chairman of Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2009 Virginia gubernatorial election and is the Democratic nominee in the 2013 Virginia gubernatorial election.

McAuliffe recently served as President of the Greentech Automotive Company, from 2010 until he resigned in December 2012..

The Washington Free Beacon presented the following five points to remember about Greentech Automotive, in an article published last week:

1. GreenTech fell short on job promises multiple times

McAuliffe told Virginians in 2009 that the new car company would create 1,500 jobs for the state.

McAuliffe did not tell Virginians that the company was also in talks with the state of Mississippi, and would soon opt to move its operations there.

However, things have not panned out with GreenTech in Mississippi either.

McAuliffe projected that GreenTech would be churn out 10,000 cars in its first year and employ thousands.

At this point it is unclear whether GreenTech is producing any jobs. Further informationBelow.]

GreenTech is still operating at what was supposed to be a temporary facility in Horn Lake, Miss.

Although McAuliffe claimed that ground was broken at the company’s planed permanent facility, local investigators found that there was nothing but overgrown grass covering the plot on which it is supposed to be located.

2. GreenTech relies on a foreign “visa-for-sale” investment scheme

At the center of GreenTech’s fundraising operation is the controversial EB-5 visa program.

The program allows foreign nationals to get a visa if they invest $500,000 to $1 million in a project or business that provides U.S. jobs.

GreenTech partners with Gulf Coast Funds Management (GCFM), a company that is authorized by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to collect EB-5 investments for GreenTech.

GCFM has collected at least $45.5 million from foreign investors for GreenTech through the program. Anthony Rodham, a close friend of McAuliffe who also happens to be the brother of Hillary Clinton, runs GCFM.

Many have been skeptical about whether the visa program was being used properly.

Virginia officials labeled the company a “visa-for-sale scheme” and feared that doing business with GreenTech could eventually “give the Commonwealth a black eye.”

3. GreenTech is being investigated by the SEC

Both GreenTech and GCFM are targets of a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) investigation.

Although the details of the investigation are still unclear, both companies have confirmed that the SEC subpoenaed them for documents in May of this year.

Documents made available by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) make clear that the investigation centers around the use of the EB-5 visa program.

McAuliffe, who quietly resigned from the company in December, claims that he had no knowledge of any pending investigation at the time of his resignation.

4. GreenTech is at the center of a Homeland Security investigation

GreenTech and McAuliffe have also found themselves involved in a Department of Homeland Security investigation.

USCIS director Alejandro Mayorkas allegedly assisted Rodham and GCFM win approval for an EB-5 visa application, even after the application and the subsequent appeal were rejected.

Documents revealed that Rodham directly contacted Mayorkas and urged him to approve pending visa applications.

Concerns were also raised that Mayorkas expedited the approval of applicants that were held for “fraud/national security.”

5. GreenTech’s parent company is based in the British Virgin Islands

GreenTech is owned by Capital Wealth Holdings, an investment company incorporated in the tax haven, the British Virgin Islands.

GreenTech president and Chinese businessman, Charles Wang, owns the investment company.

Wang is an expert on the EB-5 visa program and has coached other U.S. companies on how to effectively make use of it.

Of course, Terry McAuliffe sees things differently.

According to McAuliffe, in an op ed piece he just wrote for the Washington Post:

I’ve not been contacted in any way by those conducting the investigation and have no knowledge of it beyond what has been reported. From what has been reported, the investigation appears to be looking at a document allegedly prepared for potential investors — something I was not responsible for as chairman.

Republicans have also criticized the company for employing only about 100 people. Of course, that’s about 100 jobs that would not have existed if we had not taken a risk on this company. The company has taken longer to develop than many people expected, including me, but taking a risk on an innovative company is a critical part of the American system, and most business leaders I speak with agree that it’s not uncommon for a company to face challenges meeting its goals.

GreenTech was started because those involved invested their own money in high-tech manufacturing. In this case, it was manufacturing a small electric vehicle that had already won an annual award. Like every start-up during the Great Recession, the company faced headwinds. Those included a bureaucratic slowdown in a bipartisan visa program known as EB-5, which brings capital from overseas to create jobs here in the United States for many companies. I joined a variety of business and political leaders from both parties who expressed frustration to officials at the agency overseeing the program.

A further headwind is that manufacturing isn’t easy, and manufacturing a new kind of car is even harder. The company has invested in research and development, testing and safety to perfect the design. While Nissan worked to develop electric vehicles for about 18 years before launching the Leaf, GreenTech made progress in just a few years during a more challenging economic time. If GreenTech succeeds, it will be a step forward for innovative manufacturing.

I have an interest — both personally and financially — in the company succeeding, and I believe that it will. As a minority shareholder, my return will be determined by the success of a long process of testing, manufacturing, marketing and selling vehicles all over the world.

The “temporary” Greentech Automotive Plant sits just a few miles down the road from where I am writing this post. The fact is, according to both current and former employees, fewer than 100 workers are producing no more than one car every two or three days.

Meanwhile, further down Highway 61, overlooking the casinos in Tunica Mississippi, sits a weed-covered piece of land, once presented to job-hungry Mississippians, as  “a Field of Dreams”, which has wound up being a “a Lot of Empty Promises”.

Hey, Virginians…Caveat Emptor.
