Rahm Emmanuel Blames a Lack of Moral Character for Chicago Violence and Catches a Lot of Grief…Why He’s Right

Are you familiar with the old saying about the fact that even a broken clock gets the time right once a day?

Well…

The Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emmanuel, got very close to being right…for once.

FoxNews.com reports that

As Chicago braces for another bloody weekend, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is once again coming under fire for blaming a lack of morals in predominantly black and Hispanic neighborhoods for the recent spate of violent crime.

Emanuel, who has been mayor since 2011 and is facing growing calls to resign from members of his own party, urged locals to “be a neighbor” and “speak up” to help law enforcement pursue killers, gang members and drug dealers.

After one particularly violent weekend earlier this month when more than 70 people were shot, Emanuel deflected questions about police staffing and strategy. Instead, he ignited a firestorm when he said there needs to be a politically incorrect conversation about character and values.

“This may not be politically correct,” he said, “but I know the power of what faith and family can do. … Our kids need that structure. … I am asking … that we also don’t shy away from a full discussion about the importance of family and faith helping to develop and nurture character, self-respect, a value system and a moral compass that allows kids to know good from bad and right from wrong.”

He added: “If we’re going to solve this … we’ve got to have a real discussion. … Parts of the conversation cannot be off-limits because it’s not politically comfortable. … We are going to discuss issues that have been taboo in years past because they are part of the solution. … We also have a responsibility to help nurture character. It plays a role. Our kids need that moral structure in their lives. And we cannot be scared to have this conversation.”

Critics quickly called him out for what they dubbed tone-deaf comments, in which he seemed to be blaming the victims.

Shari Runner, former president and CEO of the Chicago Urban League, deemed the remarks insensitive. “I cannot see the victims of racist policies and bigoted practices shamed by anyone who says they need to do better or be better in their circumstance. I won’t accept it,” Runner said

Kwame Raoul, a Democratic state senator who is running for Illinois attorney general, took a similar view. “I think for the mayor to make a generalization about a community is more than just misspoken,” Raoul said, “it’s outright wrong,”

Here’s a question: In which communities are all of these murders and other violent crimes happening?

In my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, these same conditions exist to the extent that violent crime, including drive-bys, are now happening in the suburbs.

This is not a subject that “polite society’, i.e., “The Smartest People in the Room” likes to talk about, but it is time for a reality check.

Back in July of 2013, CNN Reporter Don Lemon (who happens to be black) caught a bunch of grief for saying,

Just because you can have a baby, it doesn’t mean you should. Especially without planning for one or getting married first. More than 72 percent of children in the African-American community are born out of wedlock. That means absent fathers. And the studies show that lack of a male role model is an express train right to prison and the cycle continues.

Politifact.com researched the statement and found out that Lemon was correct. As of the 2010 Census, Black American Babies were experiencing a 73% illegitimacy rate.

If community leaders, such as those in the featured article, the NFL and its players, Modern American Liberals, both black and white, Democrat and Republican, in Municipal, State, and National Leadership Positions, would focus their angst and “concern” over all of the violence and, as Mayor Emmanuel did, focus on the society-altering, continuing dissolution of the Black Family Unit and work toward the restoration of the Black Family Unit, instead of attempting to blame our city’s police officers for the violence in our streets, perhaps the stifling defeatism of the cycle of Generational Poverty and Crime, and the violence it brings, would eventually be a thing of the past, or greatly diminished, anyway.

Then, I wouldn’t be awakened every morning, by the Local News in Memphis, to stories about Black Americans killing each other, or driving down streets and highways in cars shooting at one another and hitting innocent people in their crossfire.

And American Families could actually watch an enjoyable Sunday Afternoon of professional football again, without the NFL Players’ public displays of their private political ideology spoiling it for everybody because then, their flimsy excuse would be gone.

But, then again…that would make too much sense.

And, if someone would have provided a male role model in the lives of those young men committing these crimes who have grown up without one, a lot of Americans, Black, white, Hispanic, etc. might still be alive.

Actions have consequences.

The Memphis Gas Station Mob Attack: A Black Eye for the Bluff City

thXNI8AGNLAs we approach the annual Memphis Summer Celebration of Memphis in May, featuring the World-renown Barbeque Championship Cook-off and following in June, the nationally-televised St. Jude PGA Golf Tournament, my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee has been in the National News again, and not in a good way.

Memphis’ local NBC Affiliate, WMC-TV-Action News 5, reports that

Nine teenagers were arrested after a group of students from Northwest Prep Academy attacked a man last Friday at the BP gas station on Poplar Avenue as he helped a frightened woman to her car. with the attack at the BP gas station in Memphis. At least four of them are being charged as adults.

Denizell Gladney, 19, Devin Hulbert, 19, Darion Milken, 18, and Joe Brittman, 19, were arrested and charged with aggravated riot, and assault, among other charges.

Five other teenagers, who are younger than 18, are also charged with aggravated riot. In addition to aggravated riot, two of the teens are charged with vandalism and one is charged with burglary of a motor vehicle.”Just let them think about the consequences of their actions,” said the attack victim, Orrden Williams. “Maybe you need to be sitting in jail while everyone else is going to prom.”

However, Judge Gerald Skahan felt differently.

Gladney’s bond was reduced to $30,000. He has a prior criminal history that involves marijuana and aggravated robbery charges.

Milken and Brittman’s bonds were both reduced to $5,000. Neither of them have prior criminal history.

“I’m disappointed that their bonds were reduced,” said Williams.

None of their parents or guardians appeared in court.  However, defense attorney Michael Working commented on the judge’s decision.

“At 18 or 19, they are still quite impressionable,” said Working. “Who do we want them learning from? Do we wanted them learning from teachers in our school systems, or do we want them learning from other bad guys who do bad things?”

All three men were given a 6 p.m. curfew and are banned from the BP gas station.  Skahan said, however, that he’d rather see them in school than behind bars.

Working says a good percentage of the people behind bars are high school dropouts.

“So if there’s a way to avoid making people a statistic, that’s probably why the judge would do that,” Working explained.

They will be back in court on April 24, and have to report to pretrial services every day when they are released from jail per the judge’s orders.

“I think it’ll show Northwest Prep and the rest of the students that I can beat a man up in broad daylight and terrorize his family, and I can come home for $500,” Williams commented.

However, in juvenile court, a different judge said two students in his court should stay locked up.

“Some of these people are people you say made physical contact with this man, but you can’t release the children to parents,” said one of the students’ grandmother.

Two other minors were released without having to post any bond.

The grandmother says the situation is unfair, since the court will not release her 16-year-old grandson to his family.  Though he is only charged with aggravated riot, he has three other pending cases against him.  The court says his record was so bad, he had to be detained.

Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong spoke Thursday about keeping the people responsible for recent crimes behind bars.

“Certainly, we have very little influence over bonds,” Armstrong said. “It’s frustrating to us, as well as these victims.”

Williams says he wants all of the teenagers responsible for beating him up to pay for their actions.

“They were swinging over my baby,” he added. “I have no hope for them. I want them to suffer the punishment for their actions.”

Memphis police are still investigating and trying to identify the other teens involved in the attack. They believe there are approximately 50 total teenagers involved.

This “incident” has been in the National News all week. Of course, it is not the first time that a bunch of black “yutes” have acted in a barbaric manner in my hometown of Memphis, TN. There have now been several instances of these sort of attacks, beginning with the now-infamous “Flash Mob Attack” at the Kroger Grocery Story, located in the heart of East Memphis, on the busy thoroughfare of Poplar Avenue.

In that instance, a mob of kids, for no apparent reason at all, attacked a couple of innocent people, smashing a huge pumpkin over a teenage store clerk’s head, resulting in hospitalization.

There have been several instances since then, with the Memphis Mayor and the City Council deciding that the solution to these barbaric mobs behavior was to reward them by opening up Youth Basketball Centers, which will stay open until after Midnight, in order to attempt to keep the little angels off the streets of my hometown.

The only problem with Mayor AC Wharton’s ingenious plan, is the fact that it would only work if these kids were raised right to begin with, and respected authority enough to go play basketball, instead of roaming the streets like a bunch of feral cats.

As I have written in the past, the trouble which American society is now experiencing, regarding the Black Youth Subculture, begins at home.

With a history of 74% of Black Americans being born out of wedlock, the problem of Black “Yutes” growing up without strong role models has now become generational…and, a vicious cycle.

Last night, my bride and I were at a stir fry restaurant in a suburb of Memphis. As we processed in the line, filling our little metal bowls with our own personal ingredients for our stir fries, a young black woman started skipping line, like no one mattered but herself.

It was as if she was daring those of us who were following the rules to say something to her about her outrageous behavior, so that she could act aggrieved by our “racism”.

I believe that we are experiencing the results of LBJ’s “Great Society”, in which the Almighty Federal Government has eliminated both the concept of moral absolutes and individual responsibility.

These “yutes” who are acting like wild animals have been raised as such, literally abandoned by irresponsible parents to fend for themselves and to make up their own rules as they go along.

What we are witnessing, boys and girls, is a Generation of Sociopaths, with no concept of morality, ethics, or personal responsibility.

They are doing what feels good to them…and what popular culture, which has become both their “god” and their “parental authority figure” has told them is cool.

Until Memphis’ Community and Civic leaders show these young savages that they will face SEVERE consequences for their barbaric behavior, these mob attacks will continue…until one of these young people are shot dead, when they pick a victim with a Concealed Carry Permit.

And, then “the community” will have no one to blame, but themselves.

The “Great Society”…49 Years Later

questionmark2What is it about the number 47?

Back during the Presidential Race, the “Severely Conservative” Republican Party Legacy Candidate, Mitt Romney, stirred up a hornet’s nest by stating that 47% of Americans were receiving some form of Government Entitlements, such as SNAP, Welfare, etc. I t didn’t really matter that he was absolutely correct. He was considered a rich out-of-touch, uncaring, old white guy, from that moment on. He was positively vilified by President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm), the rest of the Democratic Party, and their willing minions in the Main Stream Media.

Romney was attempting, rather indelicately, to make the point that, with this American Freedom that we have been blessed with, also comes the burden of responsibility. Romney was trying to illuminate the fact that American is still the Land of  Opportunity, and that “God helps those who help themselves”.

I don’t believe that the Republican Presidential Candidate was attempting to be malicious by calling out the 47%. He was merely trying to paint a verbal picture as to how the sense of entitlement, that is held forcefully by some Americans, and has been facilitated by the Democrats, has spun way out of control, becoming an immeasurable burden on American Taxpayers, and an immense anchor, holding our economy back.

It was that same selfish sense of entitlement that fueled the backlash against “Mittens” by America’s low information voters, who were certainly egged on by their “plantation masters”, the Democratic Party, and their “Straw Bosses”, in the Main Stream Media.

Yesterday, the number 47 came up in the National Media once again, as it was reported that 47% of American Babies are now being born out of wedlock.

To the Wayback Machine, Sherman!

Back  in the 60s, President Lyndon Johnson (whose big hand I once shook, at his ranch, as a little boy, after his presidential term) and the Democrats, brought forth a plan, called “the Great Society”. It was decided, in order to ensure that everyone would have an equal opportunity in America, that Uncle Sugar would step in to fill in the gaps.

Two seminal pieces of legislation were passed.

First, the Civil Rights Bill that JFK promised to sign, before his assassination, was passed into law. This Act banned discrimination based on race and gender in employment and ending segregation in all public facilities.

It also helped to cement in stone, minorities’ loyalty to the Democratic Party, which continues to this day.

The second bill that LBJ signed into law was the sweeping ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY ACT OF 1964. It created the Office of Economic Opportunity whose stated purpose was to attack the roots of American poverty. A Job Corps was then established to provide vocational training.

A preschool program designed to help disadvantaged students arrive at kindergarten ready to learn, named HEADSTART, was then established. Then came VOLUNTEERS IN SERVICE TO AMERICA (VISTA), which was set up as a domestic Peace Corps. Schools in impoverished American regions would now receive volunteer teaching attention. Federal funds were sent to struggling communities to attack unemployment and illiteracy.

What Johnson told Americans, as he campaigned in 1964, was that the establishment of this “Great Society” was going to eliminate the problems of America’s poor.

It had the opposite effect

The Great Society created a dependent class, which, instead of diminishing as it’s members joined the workforce, increased from generation to generation, relying on the federal government to provide their every need.

Uncle Sugar became Mother, Father, Preacher, and Doctor to generations of Americans. This “plantation mentality” continues to this day.

I know. I spent from January 2011 – June 2012 working in our county’s WIN Job Center.

While at this Employment Office, I was able to observe folks down on their luck, struggling to find work and survive in this economy.

I also saw American families whose existence living on the Government Dole, had become generational.

It is these people whom Obama and the Democrats continue to hypnotize into believing that Uncle Sugar loves them, and is their only solution to surviving a stifling existence.

They are so, so wrong.

The strength and vitality of America does not come from the benevolence of a Nanny-state Federal Government.

As the greatest American President of our lifetime, Ronald Reagan said:

The nine words you never want to hear are:  I’m from the Government and I’m here to help.

Being enslaved to the Government Dole steals one’s ambition.  It takes away any impetus or desire to create a better life for yourself and your family, to challenge yourself to pick yourself up by your bootstraps and pursue the American Dream.  It makes you reliant on a politically-motivated spider’s web full of government bureaucrats who view you and your family as job security.

I watched American citizens trapped in this web of government bureaucracy,  so numbed of any initiative that they once had, that they seemed offended that they actually had to prove that they inquired about three jobs that week in order to keep their “benefits”.  Others seemed puzzled that they had to search through the state data base and pick out a job that they wanted to talk to an interviewer about receiving a referral to, and weren’t just simply handed a job when they walked through the door.

Now, you tell me that 47% of Americans of child-bearing age, don’t have enough self-control, self-esteem, and moral turpitude to actually get married before they bring an innocent life into this world?

I’m not a bit surprised.

Welcome to the Democrats’ “Great Society”.

Until He Comes,
