Obama to “Organizing For Action” Worshipers : “You’re Doing God’s Work.”

Obamahalologo'President Obama thanked the group that used to be his reelection campaign, Organizing for Action, in an event held last night in Washington.

“The work you are doing is God’s work,” Obama told supporters.

Per David Horowitz’s discoverthenetworks.org,

Organizing for America [now “Action”] (OFA) is a project of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The American public first heard about OFA on January 17, 2009, when President Barack Obama announced that the organization would soon open its doors for business. Two months later, in mid-March, OFA was officially launched.

Basing its operations on the third floor of the DNC’s Capitol Hill headquarters, OFA consists of a vast network of volunteers whose mission is to “let their friends and neighbors know about the President’s plan to invest in America’s future, improve health care and education, create green jobs, reduce our dependence on foreign oil and cut the deficit in half over the next four years.”

A New York Times report describes OFA as “an army of [Obama] supporters talking, sending e-mail and texting to friends and neighbors as they try to mold public opinion.”

OFA is an outgrowth of “Obama For America,” the network of Obama supporters who went door-to-door urging voters to back the Illinois senator in the 2008 presidential race. Shortly after election day in November of that year, Obama For America’s organizers met in Chicago and voiced their desire to keep their operation active in some form, even though the presidential campaign was over. Their wishes were subsequently echoed by Obama For America’s enthusiastic foot soldiers, who in December 2008 held some 4,800 house meetings nationwide to rally support for such a venture. Moreover, 500,000 Obama supporters completed a survey wherein they, too, expressed a wish to continue their organization’s work. Out of those roots, OFA was formed.

Another factor that motivated the Obama administration to create OFA was the fact that after the new President had taken his oath of office, his White House was, by law, barred from using (for subsequent political purposes) the 13-million-name e-mail list of supporters it had compiled during the 2008 presidential race. Thus the administration established OFA within the structure of the Democratic Party, which was not bound by such restrictions; OFA is free to use the aforementioned list as it pleases. Nor is OFA subject to IRS nonprofit regulations, because it has no independent legal status outside the DNC.

“God’s work”? Hardly. OFA carries out the work of sinful, corrupt men, including President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mm mmmm).

Although, Obama’s Messianic Complex is the stuff of legend.

In August of 2008, in St. Paul, Minnesota, while delivering his acceptance speech, after receiving the Nomination to become  the Democrat Presidential Candidate, Obama said,

America, this is our moment. This is our time. Our time to turn the page on the policies of the past. Our time to bring new energy and new ideas to the challenges we face. Our time to offer a new direction for the country we love.

The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth. This was the moment – this was the time – when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves, and our highest ideals. Thank you, God Bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

On February 19, 2008, Columnist Sally Quinn wrote the following in her feature “On Faith” in The Washington Post:

Is Obama the Messiah? People are asking these days and it’s not so hard to understand why: the desperate throngs, the tears, the great awakening of a slumbering demographic. All that larger symbolism.

The emotional landscape of many American voters is calamitous of late — frightened by our Babylonian war, unhappy with our President and depressed by the cleansing crush of the credit crunch — so it’s not surprising that the coming presidential election would take on a certain biblical coloring.

The Messiah question is a loud one coming from all corners. Even a blogger for Mother Jones, the hot heart of the far left, worries that the Obama-passion will be used for nefarious purposes by right-wingers, he himself writes “Barack Obama has a messiah complex and no one will convince me otherwise.”

The salty 62-year old Chris Matthews of MSNBC puts the phenomenon of Obama on the good book scale, telling the NY Observer that “I’ve been following politics since I was about 5. I’ve never seen anything like this. This is bigger than Kennedy. [Obama] comes along, and he seems to have the answers. This is the New Testament. This is surprising.”

Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan proclaimed Obama as”The Messiah”.   Addressing a large crowd behind a podium Feb. 24 with a Nation of Islam Saviours’ Day 2008 sign, Farrakhan said:

You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth. And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn’t care anything about. That’s a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking.

Barack Hussein Obama is  a god?  a messiah?  Hardly.

When Christian Conservatives have brought up Obama’s Messianic Complex in the past, we have been called narrow-minded  raaaciiists, ignorant rednecks, or simply out of touch.  Now, following over 5 years of Obama running the greatest nation on the face of the Earth straight into the ground, more and more Americans of every faith and political ideology seem to finally be coming to the painful realization that President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) ain’t all that and a bag of chips.

Obama, by declaring that his sycophants, through their support of his skirting of the Constitution, suppression of states’ rights, alienation of American Christians, and unflagging support of abortion, amnesty, marijuana legalization, and gay “marriage”, are somehow doing “God’s Work”, has shown his total misunderstanding of the God of Abraham, the Creator, whom our Founding Fathers, who Obama erroneously compares himself to, gave a preeminent position to in our Founding Documents.

And, that is why he, and his worshipers at OFA, fail.

“God’s work?”

The Devil you say.

Of Libertines and Idolators: Is America Becoming a Socialist Utopia?

obamaburningconstitutionYesterday, as is my habit, I was perusing over the Drudge Report. Three stories on Drudge caught my eye. I believe that they are a part of a plain…and disturbing pattern.

Please bear with me as I set the table, first. Then, we’ll play “Connect the Dots”.

First, there was the story of a precious little Black child praying. He was not praying to God, nor was he having a conversation with our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Oh no. He was praying to President Barack Hussein Obama.

Barack Obama, thank you for doing everything and all the kind stuff,” the little boy, who identifies himself as Steven, says as he kneels down in typical praying fashion.

“You are good, Barack Obama. You are great and when you get older you will be able to do great things. Love, Steven,” the boy concludes.

Among his sycophantic followers, Obama is is a god. He is “holy”…the object of idolatry…and not to be mocked.  Don’t believe me? Read this story:

The Missouri State Fair on Monday imposed a lifetime ban on a rodeo clown whose depiction of President Barack Obama getting charged by a bull was widely criticized by Democratic and Republican officials alike.

The rodeo clown won’t be allowed to participate or perform at the fair again. Fair officials say they’re also reviewing whether to take any action against the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association, the contractor responsible for Saturday’s event.

The entertainment during the bull riding contest featured a clown wearing a mask of Obama with an upside down broomstick attached to his backside. Spectators were asked if they wanted to see “Obama run down by a bull.” Many in the audience responded enthusiastically.

Numerous Missouri officials denounced the act after video and photos were posted online. Some Democratic Missouri lawmakers suggested Monday that there should be financial consequences for the fair.

The fair said in a written statement announcing the clown’s ban that he had engaged in an “unconscionable stunt” that was “inappropriate and not in keeping with the Fair’s standards.” The fair’s press release did not identify the clown.

Now, this last story may not seem like it goes with the others. However, hold tight. I will explain what I am seeing that connects these three stories, after you read this one:

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced Monday that low-level, nonviolent drug offenders with no ties to gangs or large-scale drug organizations will no longer be charged with offenses that impose severe mandatory sentences.

The new Justice Department policy is part of a comprehensive prison reform package that Holder unveiled in a speech to the American Bar Association in San Francisco. He also introduced a policy to reduce sentences for elderly, nonviolent inmates and find alternatives to prison for nonviolent criminals.

Justice Department lawyers have worked for months on the proposals, which Holder wants to make the cornerstone of the rest of his tenure.

“We must face the reality that, as it stands, our system is, in too many ways, broken,” Holder said. “And with an outsized, unnecessarily large prison population, we need to ensure that incarceration is used to punish, to deter and to rehabilitate — not merely to warehouse and to forget.”

“A vicious cycle of poverty, criminality and incarceration traps too many Americans and weakens too many communities,” Holder said Monday. (Excerpts of his prepared remarks were provided Sunday to The Washington Post.) He added that “many aspects of our criminal justice system may actually exacerbate these problems rather than alleviate them.”

It is clear that “too many Americans go to too many prisons for far too long and for no truly good law enforcement reason,” Holder said. “We cannot simply prosecute or incarcerate our way to becoming a safer nation,” he added later in the speech.

Holder is calling for a change in Justice Department policies to reserve the most severe penalties for drug offenses for serious, high-level or violent drug traffickers. He has directed his 94 U.S. attorneys across the country to develop specific, locally tailored guidelines for determining when federal charges should be filed and when they should not.

Now, let’s play “Connect the Dots”.

The leader of the radical socialist Bolshevik movement that toppled the czarist regime in Russia, in 1917, and head of the first government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (U.S.S.R.), Vladimir Lenin, suffered a stroke in May 1922; a second one, more debilitating, came in March of the following year. This stroke left him mute and ended his political career. When Lenin Died, in Moscow on the evening of January 21, 1924, the Russian people reacted with shock and near-hysterical grief.

The New York Times reported that “it is the general opinion that Lenin’s death will unify and strengthen the Communist Party as nothing else could do. No one who knows them both doubts that Trotsky and Stalin will bury the hatchet over his grave.”

As usual, the New York Times was wrong.Stalin worked quickly to control the situation, encouraging the deification of Lenin, who before his death had called for Stalin s dismissal?while simultaneously working to discredit (and eventually destroy) Trotsky and the rest of his rivals in the Politburo. By 1930, Stalin stood alone at the head of the Soviet state, with all the terrifying machinery Lenin’s revolution had created, at his disposal.

Stalin’s encouragement of the deification Lenin gained him the naive support of the Russian people. Little did they know what they were in for.

Regarding the last story…what better way for Obama to cement himself as the “People’s President”, than to ingratiate himself to those whose “personal pleasure” is of utmost importance to them?

And, what better way to discourage entrepreneurship and work ethic among the populace, setting the stage for the continued advent of a Socialist Utopia?

In conclusion, by playing “Connect the Dots”, with the above stories, one can extrapolate a common thread: All three of them have to do with the direction in which Obama and his Administration wish to take America.

Marx, Lenin, and Stalin would be very proud.

Obama’s Trip to Ireland: Where was St. Patrick When You Needed Him?

Obama-Shrinks-2Dateline: Cairo, Egypt – In his Second “Speech to the Muslim World”, President Barack Hussein Obama told a crowd gathered at the University of Cairo, estimated at 250,000, that it was their adherence to Sharia Law and Jihad, that was causing the violence in the world which is being attributed to Muslim Terrorist Acts. Obama told the shocked throng,

If you would only strive for peace with those whom you label “Infidels”, the world would be a better place.

Just kidding.

Actually, though, Obama did make a speech this week in which he attacked a nation’s religious beliefs. And, believe it or not, it was not the United Stated of America…for once.

While speaking to a crowd of 2,000 student at the G8 Summit in Ireland, “Pope” Obama pontificated,

…As someone who knows firsthand how politics can encourage division and discourage cooperation, I admire the Northern Ireland Executive and the Northern Ireland Assembly all the more for making power-sharing work. That’s not easy to do. It requires compromise, and it requires absorbing some pain from your own side. I applaud them for taking responsibility for law enforcement and for justice, and I commend their effort to “Building a United Community” — important next steps along your transformational journey.

Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity — symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others — these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it. If towns remain divided — if Catholics have their schools and buildings, and Protestants have theirs — if we can’t see ourselves in one another, if fear or resentment are allowed to harden, that encourages division. It discourages cooperation.

Ultimately, peace is just not about politics. It’s about attitudes; about a sense of empathy; about breaking down the divisions that we create for ourselves in our own minds and our own hearts that don’t exist in any objective reality, but that we carry with us generation after generation.

And I know, because America, we, too, have had to work hard over the decades, slowly, gradually, sometimes painfully, in fits and starts, to keep perfecting our union. A hundred and fifty years ago, we were torn open by a terrible conflict. Our Civil War was far shorter than The Troubles, but it killed hundreds of thousands of our people. And, of course, the legacy of slavery endured for generations.

Even a century after we achieved our own peace, we were not fully united. When I was a boy, many cities still had separate drinking fountains and lunch counters and washrooms for blacks and whites. My own parents’ marriage would have been illegal in certain states. And someone who looked like me often had a hard time casting a ballot, much less being on a ballot.

But over time, laws changed, and hearts and minds changed, sometimes driven by courageous lawmakers, but more often driven by committed citizens. Politicians oftentimes follow rather than lead. And so, especially young people helped to push and to prod and to protest, and to make common cause with those who did not look like them. And that transformed America — so that Malia and Sasha’s generation, they have different attitudes about differences and race than mine and certainly different from the generation before that. And each successive generation creates a new space for peace and tolerance and justice and fairness.

Needless to say, Catholic Leaders in the UK and over here in “the Colonies” are chewing up nails and spitting out thumb tacks.

Yesterday, the American Catholics for Religious Freedom issued a statement, concerning Scooter’s little diatribe:

President Obama’s anti-faith, secular agenda was shamefully on full display yesterday when he told the young people of Northern Ireland that Catholic education and other faith-based schools were divisive and an obstacle to peace. All Americans of faith should be outraged by these comments which clearly telegraph the President’s belief system and are in fact at their core even anti-American.

As a Christian American Conservative, a.k.a. “Bitter Clinger”, I wholeheartedly agree. In fact, I find the speech and behavior quite revealing, about a president who once proudly proclaimed his Christianity, as abcnews.go.com reported in September of 2010…

At a backyard town hall in Albuquerque, NM, Tuesday, President Obama was asked “Why are you a Christian?” The question, from teacher’s assistant Elizabeth A. Murphy, 42, was one of three “hot topics” she raised with the president.

“I’m a Christian by choice,” the president said. “My family didn’t — frankly, they weren’t folks who went to church every week. And my mother was one of the most spiritual people I knew, but she didn’t raise me in the church.”

The president said he “came to my Christian faith later in life and it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead — being my brothers’ and sisters’ keeper, treating others as they would treat me. And I think also understanding that Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility we all have to have as human beings, that we’re sinful and we’re flawed and we make mistakes, and that we achieve salvation through the grace of God. But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people and do our best to help them find their own grace.”

The president said “that’s what I strive to do. That’s what I pray to do every day. I think my public service is part of that effort to express my Christian faith.”

As the Professional Wrestler, The Miz, would incredulously remark,

Really? …Really? …Really?

So, insulting and making fun of the belief system of the majority of your own citizens wasn’t enough for you, was it, Scooter? You had to go and show your rear end to a bunch of Irish yutes.

Your “problem” was Christianity is, a strong Christian nation does not serve your purpose, nor that of any other country’s leader, whose political and personal ideology is composed of the teachings of Marx and Alinsky.

That explains why you spoke to a small crowd of 4,500 at the Brandenburg Gate the other day, instead of a crowd like the 200,000 screaming fans who attended your Campaign Rally in 2008, when you were running for the Presidency of the United States of America.

It appears that the Europeans have discovered the empty suit which lies behind the equally empty promise of “Hope and Change”, just as Americans have.

You attack Christianity because, just as Marx discovered, we Christians don’t believe in Idolatry. And, for a Marxist Government to enjoy its initial success, followed by its inevitable collapse, the “President” must be worshiped and adored as infallible, mythical, and of divine origin.

Guess what, Scooter?

You are mythical, because your sketchy, full-of -holes biographical history, elevated you, in the eyes of the Main Stream Media, and the rest of your Liberal Sycophants to mythical proportions. However, you have proven to be quite fallible, and quite lowly in origin. In fact, one might say, “alien”.

Apparently, you believe that all these trips you and your family are making on our dime, will cause the American People to forget your scandals, your poor stewardship, and your positively anti-American Values.

As the old song goes,

Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide.

You once said, that if the going got rough, you would “‘stand with the Muslims”.

Go ahead and try that, Scooter. They don’t have a very high opinion of you, either.

Until He comes,

Obama: Unvetted, Irresponsible, and AWOL

Obama-Shrinks-2When Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) first announced his intentions to seek the Democratic Nomination for the job of President of the United States, Americans asked,

Who is this guy?

In January of 2007, future Vice-President Joe Biden, described him for us:

I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.

After a speech by The Lightbringer, in June of 2008, MSNBC Host Chris Matthews made a fawning statement that would make him famous (in a pitifully sycophantic way),

I have to tell you, you know, it’s part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama’s speech. My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don’t have that too often. No, seriously. It’s a dramatic event. He speaks about America in a way that has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with the feeling we have about our country. And that is an objective assessment.

Even Republican pundits, like George Will, were slobbering over this unvetted Presidential Candidate. In June of 2008, Will wrote

Journalists consider themselves crusty, unsentimental creatures who, their battered fedoras shoved back on their heads, have slouched out of Ben Hecht’s 1928 play “The Front Page,” oozing skepticism from every pore. Actually, they are round-heeled romantics, such pushovers for a new swain that they did not laugh until their ribs squeaked when Barack Obama concluded his triumphal St. Paul, Minn., speech by proclaiming: “I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick …”

It is absolutely certain that generations from now someone will remember that even before that night in St. Paul, care was provided to the sick in America. Obama also asserted that future generations would say that “this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal …” The man and the moment have met.

Obama’s words mesmerize a nation accustomed to leaders who routinely use words with antic indifference to their accuracy.

Hidden behind their fawning facades was the fact that even the old guard of the Democratic Party had reservations about this Manchurian Candidate (or, should I say “Kenyan”?).

Back in June of 2010, when Ben Smith was still reporting for politico.com, he wrote

I’ve finally gotten my hands on a copy of Game Change, in which John Heliemann and Mark Halperin report:

[A]s Hillary bungled Caroline, Bill’s handling of Ted was even worse. The day after Iowa, he phoned Kennedy and pressed for an endorsement, making the case for his wife. But Bill then went on, belittling Obama in a manner that deeply offended Kennedy. Recounting the conversation later to a friend, Teddy fumed that Clinton had said, A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.

Bubba, Rhodes Scholar that he is, may have unknowingly made a very cogent point, concerning The Lightbringer’s ability to handle the job of being the Leader of the Free World.

Now, one month in his second term as president (Lord, I hate having to say that…sigh…) an exclamation point has been written on his record of anti-American incompetency.

This week, as I’ve written before, hearings were held by the Senate on the massacre of our Libyan Ambassador, Chris Stephens, and 3 other Americans, by a barbaric horde of Muslim Terrorists. The Administration has blatantly engaged in a massive cover-up  since that horrible night, including blaming an unwatched Youtube video for ‘riling up” the barbarians, leading them to commit the atrocity.

During the hearings, a fact was revealed that should make every American livid with rage.

A revelation that is so bad, even that Liberal bastion of Left Wing Journalism, the Washington Post had to agree with the assessment of Conservative Talk Show Host Sean Hannity and admit that it is a troubling situation:

Sean Hannity reports that he was “stunned” upon hearing that President Obama had minimal interaction with his top defense official on the night of the Sept. 11 attack against the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya. That revelation stemmed from an exchange in a Senate hearing between Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta regarding the president’s communications that night. Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey met with Obama about an hour after the attack began but didn’t have direct communication with him after that. Here’s how the exchange unfolded:

AYOTTE: Did you have any other further communications? Did he ever call you that night to say how are things going, what’s going on, where is the consulate?

PANETTA: No.

AYOTTE: Did you communicate with anyone else at the White House that night?

PANETTA: No.

AYOTTE: No one else called you to say, what, how are things going?

PANETTA: No.

As predicted, Hannity seized on the exchange. “Now the most alarming news that came out of that testimony is that President Obama was virtually absent on the night that four Americans died, and according to Panetta, he and General Dempsey only spoke once that night to the commander-in-chief.”

On came Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) to assist with the accountabilitizing:

Well, Mr. President, what did you do for eight hours? Who did you talk to? What kind of leadership did you exhibit? They made two movies about the Bin Laden raid and you deserve credit for that, but you’ve had no accounting for the Benghazi attack and you’re going to have an accounting.

I’m not going to stop until the American people know what their commander-in-chief did for eight hours and thus far, all we know is he had a 15-minute conversation. The revelations from Panetta weren’t the most-watched developments on Capitol Hill. That distinction belonged to a hearing in which John O. Brennan, the White House counterterrorism adviser, was enduring a confirmation grilling for his appointment as CIA director.

…Ayotte & Co. managed to do with Panetta and Dempsey what a House and Senate panel had failed to do in January with then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, and that’s to produce some telling and consequential tidbits about Benghazi. Graham told Hannity that the White House has “delayed, denied, deceived and stonewalled” regarding the ordeal. Whether or not you agree with that assessment, it has taken a good five months for this level of detail to emerge on contact among the key players.

I was going to use the Peter Principle to describe the Manchurian President. The Peter Principle is a theory that proposes that, as people rise in a hierarchy, they eventually rise to their level of incompetence.

However, that does not apply in the case of President Barack Hussein Obama (peace be upon him). He started out unvetted and incompetent.

Now, he’s become a disaster.

Until He Comes,

The DNC: Welcome to Babylon

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Exodus 20:3

A few blogs back, I compared the upcoming Democratic National Convention to a three-ring circus.

Looking at the upcoming freak show from a Biblical perspective, it seems more like the God-forsaken city of Babylon.

However, God seems to be having a say about this situation.

A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama — an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention.

Workers were trying Saturday afternoon to reform the base of the sculpture, built from sand brought in from Myrtle Beach, S.C., pounding and smoothing out the sand that had washed off the facade of the waist-up rendering of the chief executive.

The sand sculpture was protected from above, and Mr. Obama’s face didn’t see too much damage. But the storm was so strong that its heavy winds blew the rain sideways, pelting the president’s right side and leaving the sand pockmarked and completely erasing his right elbow.

Democrats’ choice of Charlotte has drawn criticism from unions who don’t like North Carolina’s labor laws, and the state seems to be tilting away from Democrats politically.

The large Rushmore-style sculpture drew comparisons to Mr. Obama’s 2008 convention in Denver, when he accepted his party’s nomination on a stage that looked like a Greek temple.

Oh, and some VIPs have been taken off of the official schedule.

Gerarddirect.com has the story:

About 200 Muslim men, women and children prayed together Friday afternoon, as police and protesters looked on in Marshall Park for the Jumah at the DNC 2012.

The event, sponsored by the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs, was added to the official DNC Host Committee calendar and the implied endorsement angered people across the country.

Earlier this week, the committee removed the Jumah from its calendar.

Officials said speakers for the event and statements and positions from event organizers were not appropriate and relevant to the Host Committee.

Organizer Jibril Hough, of the Islamic Center of Charlotte, said the Jumah was never sponsored by the DNC Host Committee.

“The DNC did not do this. We did this,” said Hough. “It is about prayer, not politics. We want to celebrate the community and let people know about our beliefs.”

Several protesters showed up to Marshall Park during the Jumah and a few shouted and chastised the worshippers.

Police did get involved by asking the protesters to turn down their sound system.

Most of the people attending the Jumah said they felt it was a success and look forward to other Islamic events happening through the weekend.

Hough, who is on the DNC Welcome Committee, said he felt it was a historic day and is proud of his city.

Additionally, the DNC has announced that there will be no child care in Charlotte this week.  Perhaps, because this is not a family-friendly convention:

The leaders of the two largest abortion rights groups in the country are among a slew of prominent women expected to escalate attacks on Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s positions on women’s issues at the upcoming Democratic convention.

The Democratic National Convention Committee on Wednesday was releasing a list of female speakers heavy with symbolism, including Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund; Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America; Lilly Ledbetter, the inspiration for the equal pay law signed by President Obama; and Sandra Fluke, the former law school student insulted by conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh for advocating health insurance coverage of birth control.

The announcement comes at a time when the Republican Party is facing a firestorm over Missouri Rep. Todd Akin’s recent comments about “legitimate rape.’’ On Tuesday, Romney himself joined a bevy of prominent Republicans in urging Akin, the GOP nominee for Senate in his state, to quit the race. Earlier that day, the GOP platform committee approved a strident anti-abortion plank that did not include exceptions for rape or incest. Romney has said he supports those exceptions, but Democrats are using a broad brush to portray the GOP nominee and his party as out of touch with women.

While stopping short of designating “Ladies Night’’ at the convention, the long lineup of female convention speakers makes it clear that the Democratic Party is putting issues like abortion, birth control, Planned Parenthood funding and equal pay at center stage. But the offensive aimed at peeling off female swing voters and exciting the party faithful could come with the risk that the convention appears narrowly focused at a time when the economy is paramount in voters’ minds.

The other speakers listed in the Wednesday announcement are Rep. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, a high-profile and openly lesbian Senate candidate; Caroline Kennedy, daughter of former President John F. Kennedy; disabled Iraq veteran Tammy Duckworth, who is running for Congress in Illinois; actress Eva Longoria, a co-chair of the Obama campaign; Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau, the first American Indian woman to hold statewide office in Montana, and Sen. Barbara Mikulski, who will be joined by other female senators. Democratic officials have not released a schedule that would indicate whether the women are speaking on the same night of the convention.

The Democratic Party had already announced that Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren would get a prime speaking slot and that California Attorney General Kamala Harris would also give remarks from the stage.

The Democrats need to remember:

The Declaration of Independence laid the cornerstone of human government upon the first precepts of Christianity.

John Quincy Adams

Because, it certainly seems that they have forgotten that.

And, that is why their efforts to re-elect Barack Hussein Obama are beginning to swirl down the drain.
