Obama “Fired Up”, to Hold Gun Control Pep Rally on CNN

ABC News reports that

Hawaiian vacation over, President Barack Obama says he is energized for his final year in office and ready to tackle unfinished business, turning immediate attention to the issue of gun violence. Obama scheduled a meeting Monday with Attorney General Loretta Lynch to discuss a three-month review of what steps he could take to help reduce gun violence. The president is expected to use executive action to strengthen background checks required for gun purchases.

Republicans strongly oppose any moves Obama may make, and legal fights seem likely over what critics would view as infringing on their Second Amendment rights. But Obama is committed to an aggressive agenda in 2016 even as public attention shifts to the presidential election.

Obama spent much of his winter vacation out of the public eye, playing golf with friends and dining out with his family. He returned to the White House about noon Sunday.

“I am fired up for the year that stretches out before us. That’s because of what we’ve accomplished together over the past seven,” Obama said his weekly radio and Internet address.

While in Hawaii, he also worked on his final State of the Union address, scheduled for Jan. 12. The prime-time speech will give the president another chance to try to reassure the public about his national security stewardship after the attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California.

Congressional Republicans have outlined a competing agenda for January, saying they will spend the first days of 2016 taking another crack at eliminating keys parts of the president’s health insurance law and ending federal funding for Planned Parenthood. The legislation is unlikely to become law, but it is popular with the GOP base in an election year.

The debate about what Obama may do on gun violence already has spilled over into the presidential campaign.

Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton has called for more aggressive executive actions on guns, and rival Bernie Sanders said he would support Obama’s expected move.

The Vermont senator told ABC’s “This Week” that he believes “there is a wide consensus” that “we should expand and strengthen the instant background check.” He added: “I think that’s what the president is trying to do and I think that will be the right thing to do.”

Republican candidates largely oppose efforts to expand background checks or take other steps that curb access to guns.

“This president wants to act as if he is a king, as if he is a dictator,” unable to persuade Congress and forcing an “illegal executive action” on the country, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie told “Fox News Sunday.”

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, also on Fox, said Obama’s “first impulse is always to take rights away from law-abiding citizens, and it’s wrong.”

In the radio address, Obama said tens of thousands of people have died from gun violence since background check legislation stalled three years ago.

“Each time, we’re told that commonsense reforms like background checks might not have stopped the last massacre, or the one before that, so we shouldn’t do anything,” Obama said. “We know that we can’t stop every act of violence. But what if we tried to stop even one?”

Federally licensed gun sellers are required by law to seek criminal background checks before completing a sale. But gun control advocacy groups say some of the people who sell firearms at gun shows are not federally licensed, increasing the chance of sales to customers prohibited by law from purchasing guns.

Obama plans to participate in a town hall Thursday night at George Mason University in Virginia on reducing gun violence. The president will take questions from the audience at the event moderated by CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Despite his deep differences with Republicans, Obama has cited two agenda items for 2016 that have bipartisan support: a free trade agreement with 11 other nations called the Trans-Pacific Partnership and changes in the criminal justice system that would reduce incarceration rates for nonviolent offenders. He often points out that the U.S. accounts for 5 percent of the world’s population and 25 percent of its inmates.

An Executive Order, sometimes known as a proclamation, is a directive handed down directly from the President of the United States without input from the legislative or judicial branches. Executive orders can only be given to federal or state agencies, not to citizens, even though we wind up bearing the brunt of them.

Executive Orders go all the way back to our first president, George Washington. Presidents have used them to lead the nation through times of war, to respond to natural disasters and economic crises, to encourage or to limit regulation by federal agencies, to promote civil rights, or in the case of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, to set up Japanese internment camps, in order to revoke Civil Rights.

Have you ever watched a mother, when their toddler bumps their head on a table, attempt to distract their child, by pretending to spank the table, while saying, “Bad Table”?

That, in a nutshell, is what President Barack Hussein Obama is attempting to do by writing Executive Orders, in an attempt to limit the Constitutional Right of American Citizens to own guns.

By creating new restrictions, instead of enforcing gun laws which are already in place, Obama is shifting the blame from the Radical Islamic Terrorists and those who operate outside of the law to America and her citizens.

Obama is attempting to control law-abiding American Citizens, instead of punishing those who operate outside of our laws, such as the Muslim Terrorists who perpetrated the San Bernadino Massacre and the thugs who have turned Obama’s “hometown” of Chicago into their own personal “Killing Fields”.

Obama realizes that even though he “has a pen”, that does not mean that he has the national approval for his coming dictatorial action, which he claims that he has.

Therefore, he and his Administration have arranged for a “National Townhall Meeting”, to be held live on CNN, this Thursday night.

During this upcoming “Pep Rally”, I can guarantee you the following:

  1. The audience will be hand-picked by the Administration.
  2. Obama will use “human props”, like he did after the Sandy Hook Massacre and during the Obamacare Roll-out.
  3. Anderson Cooper will fawn over him, lobbing softball questions that Steve Urkel himself could hit out of the park.

Gun Control has not stopped the criminals from getting Guns in the UK. What makes Obama and his minions think that more regulations are going to accomplish what the UK has not?

Are they that full of themselves that they think that, since they are the “smartest people in the room”, that failed methods will actually work this time?

Are they just doing something to be doing something, in order to save face with their Far Left supporters?

Or, is it something more malevolent than just everyday politics?

Actually, the Second Amendment wasn’t enacted with any of these things in mind. The amendment was adopted as a means to enable the new American republic, lacking a standing army or state national guards, to muster militia to put down domestic uprisings, including slave revolts, to repulse any attempted return by the British and to deal with clashes with Native Americans on the expanding frontier.

These issues vanished long ago. The Second Amendment is obsolete and now has been twisted to threaten the basic safety and security of all Americans. There is no basis for claiming this amendment was intended to permit unregulated personal acquisition of firearms, including amassing military weapons and private arsenals for “protection” from the government. No government, especially one that is new and fragile, has ever authorized citizens to arm themselves against it.

Obama Sells Out American Sovereignty to the U.N. by Signing Arms Treaty

gun rightsIf you were Barack Hussein Obama, and your attempt at Gun Confiscation had failed miserably, with both Congressional and widespread public opposition to your efforts, what do you do?

…after you threw a temper tantrum on national television…

Simple: You sign over your nation’s sovereignty to the United Nations.

United States of America Secretary of State John Kerry announced yesterday that the Obama administration would sign a controversial U.N. treaty on arms regulation, in spite of bipartisan resistance in Congress. Congress is concerned that the treaty could lead to new gun control measures in the U.S.

Kerry, in a written statement, which he released as the U.N. treaty opened for signature Monday, proclaimed that the U.S. “welcomes” the next phase for the treaty…

We look forward to signing it as soon as the process of conforming the official translations is completed satisfactorily.

Kerry called the treaty “an important contribution to efforts to stem the illicit trade in conventional weapons, which fuels conflict, empowers violent extremists, and contributes to violations of human rights.”

On April 2nd of this year, in the modern-day Tower of Babylon, known as the United Nations, a sweeping, first-of-its-kind treaty to regulate the international arms trade was passed by the delegates. oblivious to worries from U.S. gun rights advocates that this agreement could be the precursor to a national firearms registry.

The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) requires countries to regulate and control the export of weaponry such as battle tanks, combat vehicles and aircraft and attack helicopters, as well as parts and ammunition for such weapons. It also provides that participating countries will not violate arms embargoes, international treaties regarding illicit trafficking, or sell weaponry to countries for genocide, crimes against humanity or other war crimes.

With the unwavering support of Obama and his Administration, the General Assembly vote totaled 155 to 3, with 22 abstentions. Iran, Syria and North Korea voted against it.

The problem with the treaty is that is positively porous, due to all of the loopholes contained in it. The list of controlled weaponry in it includes “small arms and light weapons”. Of course, the U.N. claims that the pact is meant to regulate only cross-border trade and would have no impact on domestic U.S. laws and markets.

There are several times, during my musings, that I have described our blessed country as a sovereign nation. What does that mean?

It means that we are an “independent state”, completely independent and self-governing. We bow to no other country on God’s green Earth. We are beholden to no other nation. America stands on its own, with our own set of laws , The Constitution of the United States.

On June 5, 2009, Professor Jeremy Rabin of George Mason University, author of “The Case for Sovereignty”, delivered a lecture sponsored by Hillsdale College in Washington, DC. What he said certainly applies to this situation…

The Constitution provides for treaties, and even specifies that treaties will be “the supreme Law of the Land”; that is, that they will be binding on the states. But from 1787 on, it has been recognized that for a treaty to be valid, it must be consistent with the Constitution—that the Constitution is a higher authority than treaties. And what is it that allows us to judge whether a treaty is consistent with the Constitution? Alexander Hamilton explained this in a pamphlet early on: “A treaty cannot change the frame of the government.” And he gave a very logical reason: It is the Constitution that authorizes us to make treaties. If a treaty violates the Constitution, it would be like an agent betraying his principal or authority. And as I said, there has been a consensus on this in the past that few ever questioned.

…At the end of The Federalist Papers, Alexander Hamilton writes: “A nation, without a national government, is, in my view, an awful spectacle.” His point was that if you do not have a national government, you can’t expect to remain a nation. If we are really open to the idea of allowing more and more of our policy to be made for us at international gatherings, the U.S. government not only has less capacity, it has less moral authority. And if it has less moral authority, it has more difficulty saying to immigrants and the children of immigrants that we’re all Americans. What is left, really, to being an American if we are all simply part of some abstract humanity? People who expect to retain the benefits of sovereignty—benefits like defense and protection of rights—without constitutional discipline, or without retaining responsibility for their own legal system, are really putting all their faith in words or in the idea that as long as we say nice things about humanity, everyone will feel better and we’ll all be safe. You could even say they are hanging a lot on incantations or on some kind of witchcraft. And as I mentioned earlier, the first theorist to write about sovereignty understood witchcraft as a fundamental threat to lawful authority and so finally to liberty and property and all the other rights of individuals.

Our Founders  added “A Bill of Rights” to the U.S. Constitution in 1789. The second Amendment, found in that Bill of Rights, states…

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

By selling out our sovereignty to the United Nations, President Barack Hussein Obama is definitely infringing on our rights as American Citizens as specified in the Second Amendment, and ignoring the Oath which he has taken, twice, to uphold the Constitution of the United States.

All because he did not get his way.

Gun Control: A Defeated Obama Seeks to Bypass the Will of the People…Again

gun rightsYesterday, Liberals  were walking around aimlessly, like zombies from the popular A&E television series, The Walking Dead, after their cause celebre,, Gun Control was soundly defeated in the U.S. Senate.

In a conference call to some of their Power Brokers, who have invested heavily in the Quest for Gun Confiscation, Vice-President Biden announced the following,

Look…I know you’re going to say that I’m just being an optimist and I’m trying to put a good face on this. But you know I’ve been around here a long time and we’ve already done, because of you, some really good things. Number one, the president is already lining up some additional executive actions he’s going to be taking later this week.

Rush Limbaugh originally explained the role of Executive Orders back in January, when Obama first used them to further his dream of Gun Confiscation:

You see, there’s a thing in this country. It’s called the Constitution, and while presidents and members of Congress and mayors and others run for election every year (or every two years, or every four years, depending), the Constitution is constant. There’s not one elected official who has the power to change it. There is a way to amend the Constitution, and the Constitution spells out the procedures that must be taken to change it. Presidents cannot. Now, I know this is gonna shock many of you in the low-information community.

Many of you believe… This is what you’ve been taught. This is what you have been educated with, and many of you have been taught to actually support this kind of presidential power, that a president, if he doesn’t like something, can just “fix” it. But there is no such power granted to the president by the Constitution, and executive orders are not a way for the president to get around the Constitution. Executive orders were not established for that purpose. Executive orders are to take care of emergencies during times when Congress is not in session. 

That’s one of many examples for their usage, but the executive order does not contain the power to violate the Constitution. The executive order does not give the president the authority to say, “I don’t like the Second Amendment, and I’m going to write a law that supersedes it.” No president has ever had that power. No president today has that power. Barack Obama doesn’t have it. If he acts in such a way, he is in violation of the Constitution. The Constitution is what holds this country together. The Constitution is what defines this country. 

There isn’t enough knowledge, nor is there enough respect, for the Constitution in our country today, which is why I’m trying to help a little bit here. Nineteen executive orders to deal with something they are not permitted to deal with, in a way they’re not permitted to do it. But if nobody is willing to stand up and oppose the president and this usurpation of power — which does not exist and which he does not have — then, of course, he will get away with it. But I just want you to know this. I want those of you in the low-information voter community to know that executive orders do not exist so that the president can break the law. They do not exist so the president can change the law. That is not why they exist.

You see, the laws of this country… Again, pardon me for a second as I address the low-information voter community. The laws in this country are written in Congress. That would be the Senate and the House. The president does not write laws. The president does not make law. Well, he’s not supposed to. Judges are not supposed to make laws. Judges are not supposed to create laws. That’s only supposed to happen in Congress. When Congress refuses to vote for a law, then it’s dead. What the administration and Biden are admitting here is that they can’t legally enact the gun laws that they prefer.

So they’re just going to do it unilaterally with the executive order.

Now, I’m not lying to you when I tell you that is not what executive orders permit. It’s not why they were created; it’s not what they’re for. Executive orders do not grant dictatorial power to presidents. They do not grant the power to the president to violate existing law. Executive orders do not grant the power to the president to write new law. The president and his team will be in violation of the Constitution if they do this. Now, there are certain things that can be done with executive orders, but they can’t write new law. But if nobody stops them, what’s the point?

They can get away with it.

There’s always a way to get away with it.

Obama can try to achieve his Marxist dream of taking away guns from law-abiding citizens through the issuing of Executive Orders, but this is not Russia, during the Bolshevik Revolution. This is America, where we have a System of Checks and Balances.

Please urge your Senator and Representative to put all the pressure they can on their Democratic colleagues to stop the president from turning us into an unarmed citizenry, vulnerable to enemies, foreign and domestic….and political, too.

Obama’s actions, as I wrote yesterday, remind me of a spoiled child who, when told “NO!” by his parents, launches into a screeching, whining temper tantrum.

Just like an unruly child, it’s time for Obama to be disciplined…by turning him into a lame duck for the next 3 and 1/2 years.

Obama is not a leader. He is a petulant, pedantic Graduate Assistant, playing at being a tenured professor.

Americans…it’s time to ring the dismissal bell on this class.

Gun Control: Heading Toward a National Gun Registry

guncontrolThe nation is buzzing with anticipatory dread, as the Senate gets ready to vote on new Gun Control Laws, which would require mandatory registration of law-abiding citizen’s firearms.

Yesterday, Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) took to the Senate Floor to issue a dire warning:

Some of the proposals, like for example- universal background checks- would allow the federal government to surveil law-abiding citizens who exercise their Constitutional rights. One of the provisions we expect to see in the bill based on what we saw in the Judiciary Committee- on which I sit- would allow the Attorney General of the United States (Eric Holder) to promulgate regulations that could lead to a national registry system for guns. Something my constituents in Utah are very concerned about, and understandably so.

…You see, the federal government has no business monitoring when or how often you go to church; what books and newspapers you read; who you vote for; your health conditions; what you eat for breakfast; and the details of your private life– including your lawful exercise of your rights protected by the Second Amendment and other provisions of the Bill of Rights.

Despite what the politicians are saying, these “harmless” Gun Control Laws could, in fact, lead to a National Gun Registry, which in turn, will eventually lead to Gun Confiscation.

And, Americans are getting ready for that eventuality.

Did you know that…

During Barack Obama’s presidency there have been 32 background checks for gun purchases every minute.

Since February of 2009, the first full month of Obama’s presidency, there have been 70,291,049 background checks for gun purchases, according to data released by the FBI.

Using February 1, 2009 as our starting date, and March 31, 2013 as our end date, (the latest data from the FBI) Obama has been president for 1,520 days.

That equates to 36,480 hours, or 2,188,800 minutes.

Divide the 70,291,049 background checks by 2,188,800 minutes and you get approximately 32 checks for gun purchases every minute!

American Liberals are fond of citing the UK’s Gun Control Laws as a model for America to follow after.

Here is a brief history:

In 1946 “self defense” was no longer considered a good reason for requiring a police issued firearms certificate. The slippery slope got even steeper.

In 1953 carrying any type of weapon for self defense was made illegal, making the streets even safer for the criminal element and giving great “crime control” soundbites to the police and press.

In 1967 a chap by the name of Harry Roberts blasted three policemen to death in a London street using a 9mm Luger pistol and the British government restricted shotguns for the very first time. Try to figure out the logic… handgun used… shotguns licensed for the first time in British history. Opportunistic, or am I just being a cynical bastard?

In 1982 black powder muzzle loader shooters and handloaders were required to allow police inspection of their security arrangements to ensure “safe storage” of the powder they possessed, meaning that agents of the state could demand entry into an Englishman’s home at any time of day or night without a warrant.

In 1988 all semi-automatic rifles were banned, including pump action rifles. The personal property of law abiding people was once again outlawed and seized. All the guns were registered and easy to find, that is to say, all the legally held ones.

In 1996 all handguns were banned and they too were all registered with the agents of the state. Well, need I say more? You get the picture. Also in 1996 carrying any knife with a blade longer than 3 inches was made illegal. Presumably one cannot stab someone to death with a three inch knife. You now had to show “good reason” for carrying a knife, the presumption of innocence, until proven guilty of a crime, was gone.

In England today you cannot carry any type of weapon for self defense and you cannot use a firearm to defend your home, family, or property. The gun and weapon laws have made crime safe for criminals and the other violent thugs and miscreants who infest our country today.

In 2006 the government passed the Violent Crime Reduction Act. The VCRA restricted all “realistic” toy/replica guns. Now Britons were not to be trusted with even imitation non-firing replicas. “Violent crime reduction” was once again used as the smokescreen to enact oppressive laws and deprive the law abiding of their property. As part of the VCRA an airgun can no longer be purchased by mail order and the name and address of the purchaser must be registered with the seller.

New data out from the UK, where guns are banned, shows gun crime has soared by 35 percent.

The Government’s latest crime figures were condemned as “truly terrible” by the Tories today as it emerged that gun crime in England and Wales soared by 35% last year.

Firearms were used in 9,974 recorded crimes in the 12 months to last April, up from 7,362.

It was the fourth consecutive year to see a rise and there were more than 2,200 more gun crimes last year than the previous peak in 1993.

Figures showed the number of crimes involving handguns had more than doubled since the post-Dunblane massacre ban on the weapons, from 2,636 in 1997-1998 to 5,871.

Gun Control: Bloomberg and Carrey…Dumb and Dumber

bloomberg2carreyThere is one axiom that I have found that pertains to Liberal’s in both DC and Hollywood: They always believe that they are the smartest person in any room they walk into. In regards to gun confiscation, they believe that they know more about gun safety that Americans who have been around guns all their lives.

Allow me to tell you about 2 well-know Liberals , of like minds, whose combined brain power would not operate a 25 watt light bulb.

New York City’s Nanny Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, has launched a $12 million advertising campaign aimed at those Senators who are wavering in their opinion about gun confiscation.

The rich, clueless Liberal expresse a warning on Meet The Press yesterday, that this was just the beginning:

I have a responsibility … to try to make this country safer.

If I can do that by spending some money, and taking the NRA from being the only voice to being one of the voices, so the public can really understand the issues, then I think my money will be well spent and I think I have an obligation to do that.

If 90% of the public wants something, and their representatives vote against that, common sense says they are going to have a price to pay for that. (Actually, the majority of Americans are against gun control, Mr. Mayoe.)

Bloomberg launched the ad campaign, which will start airing Monday, in a dozen states where Bloomberg believes key senators can be swayed. The ad features a rifle-toting hunter making the case for background checks.

I don’t think there’s ever been an issue where the public has spoken so clearly where Congress hasn’t eventually understood and done the right thing,.

…I don’t think we should give up on the assault weapons ban, but clearly it is a more difficult issue for a lot of people.

Meanwhile, in Hollyweird, formerly relevant actor Jim Carrey, has written a liltte ditty, aimed at us rednecks who have guns in our homes.

The formerly popular actor sent out a Tweet on February 2nd which read,

[Anyone] who would run out to buy an assault rifle after the Newtown massacre has very little left in their body or soul worth protecting.

Yesterday, Carrey sent out the following Tweets, proving that all of those times in the movies, when he played a complete idiot…he wasn’t acting:

I would like these two gentlemen to kindly explain how taking  away the guns of law-abiding American citizens, is going to protect us from the criminals who will still have guns.

Liberals live under the delusion that, since they believe that they are the “smartest person in the room, and “care more” than other Americans, that we should consider them experts at everything. They also believe that we (especially those of us who do not live in the Northeast Corridor or on the West Coast) do not know how to run our own lives, and therefore, we should allow them to run our lives for us.

There is a reason why Obama’s popularity ratings are beginning to tank.

Americans get up on our hind legs when tyrants, foreign or domestic, attempt to take away our freedoms, as assigned to us by our Creator, through our Founding Fathers.

I hope that Mayor Bloomberg and Mr. Carrey do not plan a trip down to Mississippi any time soon. Some of my neighbors are liable to tell them how they feel about their attempts at gun confiscation.

And, it won’t be pretty.

Obama’s Gun Control Initiative: “You Say You Want a Revolution…”

I have been writing a lot about the Quixotic quest of the Obama Administration and all of its minions on the Left of the Political Sguncontrolpectrum, to restrict the right of law-abiding American citizens to own guns.

If you have not noticed, the Obama Politboro has been arming itself in unprecedented numbers, under the guise of collecting taxes for the upcoming advent of Obamacare.

Under this wonderful capitalist system that we live under (at least, for now), some arms manufacturers are taking a stand, and exercising their right to refuse service.

CNSNews.com has the story:

A growing number of firearm and firearm-related companies have stated they will no longer sell items to states, counties, cities and municipalities that restrict their citizens’ rights to own them.

According to The Police Loophole, 34 companies have joined in publicly stating that governments who seek to restrict 2nd Amendment rights will themselves be restricted from purchasing the items they seek to limit or ban.

Extreme Firepower Inc., located in Inwood, WV has had a longstanding policy that states:

“The Federal Government and several states have enacted gun control laws that restrict the public from owning and possessing certain types of firearms…If a product that we manufacture is not legal for a private citizen to own in a jurisdiction, we will not sell that product to a law-enforcement agency in that jurisdiction.”

York Arms, located in Buxton, ME released a statement following new legislation in New York:

“Based on the recent legislation in New York, we are prohibited from selling rifles and receivers to residents of New York. We have chosen to extend that prohibition to all governmental agencies associated with or located within New York.”

Quality Arms, located in Rigby, ID writes on their website, “elected officials have their own agenda to circumnavigate the truth and destroy the constitution of the United States.”

The site states: “Quality Arms Idaho will not supply and firearm or product, manufactured by us, or any other company nor will we warranty, repair, alter, or modify and firearm owned by any State, County or Municipality who infringes on the right of its citizens to bear arms under the 2nd Amendment.”

Bravo Company USA states:

“The people at Bravo Company USA and BCM support responsible private individuals having access to the same tools of civilian Law Enforcement to affect the same ends…As such Bravo Company’s policy is that law enforcement officials and departments will be restricted to the same type of products available to responsible private individuals of that same city or state.”

Now, I am not one prone to conspiracy theories, but I question the timing of the whole thing. I believe that all of this “Gun Control Campaign” was already prepared, and Obama and his sycophants were just waiting for the appropriate trigger mechanism to begin their push for gun confiscation. Unfortunately, the horrible tragedy in Newtown provided them the excuse that they were waiting for.

I mean, just look at the fact that the IRS has armed itself, under the excuse of getting ready to enforce the outrageous mandates under Obamacare.

Even as I write this, there are Executive Orders, sitting on the president’s desk, waiting to be signed, that we don’t even know about. He has stated, numerous times, that if Congress will not give him what he wants, he will go around them.

Yes, our Founding Fathers put in a System of Checks and Balances. However, that system relies on the willingness of politicians to enforce them.

Unfortunately, in 2013, we have a bunch of professional politicians, who are too afraid of being thrown off of the Gravy Train, to tell the Conductor he’s on the wrong track.When the Speaker of the House isn’t playing golf with the Manchurian President, he’s playing footsie with him.

What are the four “hot” issues right now?

1. Gun Control

2. Amnesty for illegal immigrants

3. Homosexual “Marriage”

4. Sequestration

Now, everybody sing: “One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn’t belong…”

Have you guessed? Yep. Sequestration is a direct result of the fiscal irresponsibility of our professional politicians, up on Capitol Hill, being poor stewards of OUR money.

The vicious coiled snake, known as Tax and Spend, has finally eaten its own tail.  The revenue needed to fuel Obama’s Big Government no longer exists, because of his own ignorant economic policies. When Americans are prosperous and thriving,   government reaps the benefits. Not vice-versa.

Which brings me back to my original question: Why are these government agencies arming themselves so heavily. And, why the push to confiscate normal Americans’ guns?

If this “Gun Control Campaign” was about stopping violent crime, don’t you think that the government would be going after criminals like the gang-banging, murderous thugs in Obama’s hometown of Chicago, first?

Or, are they expecting Americans to take to the streets, because of Obama’s penchant to rule by diktat?

State of the Union Address 2013: Views From a Bitter Clinger

obamamyworkLast night, I took a big swig of Maalox, and proceeded to force myself to watch President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) deliver what was possibly the worst, most divisive, most arrogant State of the Union Address of all time.

From the very start to the much anticipated end, the Prevaricator-in-chief wove a web of vagarities, exaggerations, and downright lies, that caused Goebbels, Lenin, and Marx to smile. They are extra crispy where they are…but, they still smiled.

Among the things he touched on, was, of course, increasing the Government’s “revenue”.

For those of you who are low-information voters, that means he wants to take more of YOUR take-home pay.

He went on to engage in more Class Warfare, speaking as if he wished to levy more taxes on America’s wealthiest citizens.

You remember them. They are the ones who hire you and me, so that we may provide for our families.

In fact, he even started channeling Franklin Delano Roosevelt, suggesting that we put Americans to work repairing our bridges and roads, essentially reviving the WPA.

If you were listening to ol’ Scooter last night, you grasped that he truly believes that a Government that intrudes into our lives from cradle-to-grave, is the answer for every single problem that our country faces.

The greatest President of my generation, Ronald Wilson Reagan, said,

Republicans believe every day is the Fourth of July, but the democrats believe every day is April 15.

and

Government’s first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.

By burdening Americans with more taxes, Obama and the Democrats are intentionally stifling American Entrepreneurs and small businessmen, who are the backbone of our economy.

Obama wants our blessed country to be just another socialist nation.

Heck, last night, he even said that we should be like Rangoon!

Giving the GOP’s resonse last night, Senator Marco Rubio said,

This opportunity – to make it to the middle class or beyond no matter where you start out in life – it isn’t bestowed on us from Washington. It comes from a vibrant free economy where people can risk their own money to open a business. And when they succeed, they hire more people, who in turn invest or spend the money they make, helping others start a business and create jobs. Presidents in both parties – from John F. Kennedy to Ronald Reagan – have known that our free enterprise economy is the source of our middle class prosperity. But President Obama? He believes it’s the cause of our problems.

Obama touched on education last night.

He stated that he wants all 4 year olds to be in government-run pre-schools, where they will be fed full of socialist propaganda, and taught to shun good old-fashioned American morals and values.

He didn’t actually say that last part, but, that is exactly what will happen. Our children would be programmed. The State would be their Nanny.

He also stated that he wants to re-design America’s high schools.

Tell you what, Scooter…let’s start teaching American kids to read and write, first. Shall we?

Then, he moved to the two most important (to the Liberals) issues of the night: Amnesty (err…Path to Citizenship) and Gun Confiscation (errr…Gun Control).

Regarding making illegal immigrants American citizens, Obama said,

Real reform means strong border security, and we can build on the progress my administration’s already made, putting more boots on the southern border than at any time in our history and reducing illegal crossings to their lowest levels in 40 years. Real reform means establishing a responsible pathway to earned citizenship, a path that includes passing a background check, paying taxes and a meaningful penalty, learning English, and going to the back of the line behind the folks trying to come here legally.

Sounds fairly decent, right?

However, you and I both know that’s not what is going to happen. The Liberals will eventually attempt to push through some sort of blanket amnesty, before the Mid-term Elections, in order to manufacture a plethora of new Democratic Voters.

Then, came the most garish and inappropriate moment of the entire night. I thought I was viewing the late Paul Wellstone’s Funeral, all over again.

In their unfettered zeal to take away guns from law-abiding Americans, Obama, and Liberals from both sides of the aisles, invoked the memory of a precious young 15 year old girl from Obama’s hometown of Chicago, who was viciously killed by a bunch of gang-banging thugs. Here’s the transcript. I hope you haven’t eaten recently.

Of course, what I’ve said tonight matters little if we don’t come together to protect our most precious resource, our children. It has been two months since Newtown. I know this is not the first time this country has debated how to reduce gun violence, but this time is different. Overwhelming majorities of Americans — Americans who believe in the Second Amendment — have come together around commonsense reform, like background checks that will make it harder for criminals to get their hands on a gun. Senators…

(APPLAUSE)

Senators — senators of both parties are working together on tough new laws to prevent anyone from buying guns for resale to criminals. Police chiefs are asking our help to get weapons of war and massive ammunition magazines off our streets, because these police chiefs, they’re tired of seeing their guys and gals being outgunned. Each of these proposals deserves a vote in Congress.

(APPLAUSE)

Now…

If you want to vote no, that’s your choice. But these proposals deserve a vote, because in the two months since Newtown, more than a thousand birthdays, graduations, anniversaries have been stolen from our lives by a bullet from a gun. More than a thousand. One of those we lost was a young girl named Hadiya Pendleton. She was 15 years old. She loved Fig Newtons and lip gloss. She was a majorette.

She was so good to her friends, they all thought they were her best friend. Just three weeks ago, she was here, in Washington, with her classmates, performing for her country at my inauguration. And a week later, she was shot and killed in a Chicago park after school, just a mile away from my house. Hadiya’s parents, Nate and Cleo, are in this chamber tonight, along with more than two dozen Americans whose lives have been torn apart by gun violence. They deserve a vote.

They deserve a vote.

Gabby Giffords deserves a vote.

They deserve — they deserve a simple vote. Our actions will not prevent every senseless act of violence in this country. In fact, no laws, no initiatives, no administrative acts will perfectly solve all of the challenges I’ve outlined tonight. But we were never sent here to be perfect.

(Dons Lt. Columbo’s raincoat, raises eyebrow and finger, and says,) Mr. President, may I ask a question of you, sir? How will taking away the guns of law-abidng citizens, stop low-life thugs and criminals from murdering another wonderful young person like Hadiya, or the little children in Newtown?

Answer: IT WON’T.

But, then again, that’s never the goal of a Socialist Government when they confiscate citizens’ guns. Is it?

Gun Control = Citizen Control

guncontrolAlright, boys and girls, let’s play a little game called “Guess the Source”. Your choices are a) The Daily Beast b) MSNBC c) CNN d) Daily Kos e) None of the Above.

…the right-wing extremists opposing all efforts to curb gun violence are the same forces that rallied behind Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, hoping to undermine every other democratic right as well as the living standards of workers and ordinary Americans. It is for that reason, as well as the need to protect public safety, that the same coalition of labor and its allies that worked so hard and effectively to re-elect President Barack Obama must now go all-out to back his common sense proposals for gun law reform.

As Obama has charged, the extremists recklessly “gin up fear” that the government is coming to take away hunting rifles and personal weapons owned for legitimate self-defense. Led by the hate-mongering leadership of the National Rifle Association, they use a totally fraudulent and only very recent interpretation of the Second Amendment which they falsely claim as necessary for protecting every other freedom contained in the Bill of Rights.

One of their unhinged spokesmen, Texas talk show host Alex Jones, launched a national petition drive to deport CNN commentator Piers Morgan for questioning the Second Amendment. Jones said the amendment “isn’t there for duck hunting. It’s there to protect us from tyrannical government and street thugs,” and then went on to threaten insurrection “if you try to take our firearms.”

Actually, the Second Amendment wasn’t enacted with any of these things in mind. The amendment was adopted as a means to enable the new American republic, lacking a standing army or state national guards, to muster militia to put down domestic uprisings, including slave revolts, to repulse any attempted return by the British and to deal with clashes with Native Americans on the expanding frontier.

These issues vanished long ago. The Second Amendment is obsolete and now has been twisted to threaten the basic safety and security of all Americans. There is no basis for claiming this amendment was intended to permit unregulated personal acquisition of firearms, including amassing military weapons and private arsenals for “protection” from the government. No government, especially one that is new and fragile, has ever authorized citizens to arm themselves against it.

The answer is e) None of the Above.

And, they are positively jubilant over this announcement from their fellow travelers at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC:

Attorney General Eric Holder on Friday released three proposals to strengthen the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), which was one of the 23 actions ordered by Obama last week to tackle gun violence.

The proposed regulations would give local law-enforcement agencies access to the gun-sale database that is maintained by the FBI. The rules would also preserve records of denied weapons sales indefinitely.

The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act already requires federal background checks for gun purchases, but not every firearm sale is covered under the law.

Currently, law enforcement agencies cannot perform a NICS check when transferring, returning or selling weapons that have been confiscated, seized or recovered. The new rules would change that, allowing officials to perform a background check on people who receive those weapons to ensure that they are permitted to own a gun.

Obama ordered the rule change in a Jan. 16 memo that called for “rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.”

Holder is also proposing that the NICS hold on to records of denied weapon sales that are more than 10 years old. When the NICS was established, the Justice Department ordered that the records be moved to a storage facility after 10 years, which Holder says is no longer necessary.

“The FBI has therefore determined that for NICS’ own internal business operations, litigation and prosecution purposes, and proper administration of the system, NICS shall retain denied transaction records on site,” Holder wrote in a notice to be published in Monday’s Federal Register. “The retention of denied transaction information … will enhance the efficiency and operational capability of the NICS.”

The proposed rules would also give Native American tribes access to NICS. Currently, only federal, state, or local agencies can perform the checks, which leaves out “domestic dependent nations” recognized by the United States.

Why are Obama, his Administration and their “fellow travelers” so intent over getting our guns?

If they cared so much about our nation’s children, their supposed reason for gun confiscation, they would not be pro-abortion, which has murdered 56 million children.

David Mamet, in an  article for The Daily Beast, published yesterday, wrote the following:

…where in the Constitution is it written that the Government is in charge of determining “needs”? And note that the president did not say “I have more money than I need,” but “You and I have more than we need.” Who elected him to speak for another citizen?

It is not the constitutional prerogative of the Government to determine needs. One person may need (or want) more leisure, another more work; one more adventure, another more security, and so on. It is this diversity that makes a country, indeed a state, a city, a church, or a family, healthy. “One-size-fits-all,” and that size determined by the State has a name, and that name is “slavery.”

The Founding Fathers, far from being ideologues, were not even politicians. They were an assortment of businessmen, writers, teachers, planters; men, in short, who knew something of the world, which is to say, of Human Nature. Their struggle to draft a set of rules acceptable to each other was based on the assumption that we human beings, in the mass, are no damned good—that we are biddable, easily confused, and that we may easily be motivated by a Politician, which is to say, a huckster, mounting a soapbox and inflaming our passions.

The Constitution’s drafters did not require a wag to teach them that power corrupts: they had experienced it in the person of King George. The American secession was announced by reference to his abuses of power: “He has obstructed the administration of Justice … he has made Judges dependant on his will alone … He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by our Laws … He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass out people and to eat out their substance … imposed taxes upon us without our consent… [He has] fundamentally altered the forms of our government.”

…The police do not exist to protect the individual. They exist to cordon off the crime scene and attempt to apprehend the criminal. We individuals are guaranteed by the Constitution the right to self-defense. This right is not the Government’s to “award” us. They have never been granted it.

The so-called assault weapons ban is a hoax. It is a political appeal to the ignorant. The guns it supposedly banned have been illegal (as above) for 78 years. Did the ban make them “more” illegal? The ban addresses only the appearance of weapons, not their operation.

Will increased cosmetic measures make anyone safer? They, like all efforts at disarmament, will put the citizenry more at risk. Disarmament rests on the assumption that all people are good, and, basically, want the same things.

But if all people were basically good, why would we, increasingly, pass more and more elaborate laws?

The individual is not only best qualified to provide his own personal defense, he is the only one qualified to do so: and his right to do so is guaranteed by the Constitution.

President Obama seems to understand the Constitution as a “set of suggestions.” I cannot endorse his performance in office, but he wins my respect for taking those steps he deems necessary to ensure the safety of his family. Why would he want to prohibit me from doing the same?

Why, indeed? The Communist Leader, Vladimir Lenin ,answered that question very succinctly:

One man with a gun can control 100 without one.

Obama’s Gun Control Announcement: Blowback

Obamaguncontrol11613Yesterday, flanked by children, in an effort to make the unconstitutionality of his actions bearable to the American public, President Barack Hussein Obama announced that he was circumventing both the Constitution and Congress, and issuing 23 Executive Orders, designed to make him look good to low information voters, while at the same time provoking all of us  “Bitter Clingers”, living  in the Heartland.

Rush Limbaugh, himself a product of America’s Heartland, also believes that the president was deliberately provoking Americans:

I’ve got a story here about how the Democrats think — and this is what I mean when I ask, “Why is Obama doing this?” There’s nowhere near popular support for this. Nowhere near it. The actions of the American people indicate that. You don’t need me to tell you. And yet he is continually doing things, deliberately making people upset, deliberately driving people batty, attacking people’s sanity. They are scratching their heads, “Why is he doing this? Why is the president doing this? Why is the president so against us? Why is the president blaming us?”

People are asking this, and they are taking action, because the question they’re asking perplexes them. They don’t understand this. They’re running out and buying guns. They don’t know what to do. And the NRA’s got this ad that the left is just fit to be tied over. The NRA doesn’t back down like the Republican Party does. The NRA doesn’t back down at the first sign of criticism like most Republican and conservative institutions do. And I think they’re surprised. I think the regime thought the NRA would back down. Instead the NRA’s got an ad where they talk about the hypocrisy of Obama making sure that his kids are protected by armed guards everywhere they go, but that your kids can’t be.

The NRA is calling Obama an elitist, and the left and the media are up in arms over this and they’re asking, “Does everybody think that they’re in the same situation as the president? Of course the president needs to be protected. Of course the president’s kids need to be protected.” I got a column here from a leftist blog asking the people of the country, “Do you really think you’re in the same situation of the president?” Let me tell this leftist blogger something. As many kids are being shot on school campuses today, and as much senseless law is being passed about guns, I mean, if you actually proclaim a gun-free zone, you are providing a road map to somebody with a gun to go and take action. You’re telling somebody where to go, where they can’t be stopped.

Here is a list of all 23 Executive Orders:

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.

8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).

9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.

11. Nominate an ATF director.

12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.

14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.

15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.

18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.

20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.

22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.

23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

Per The Daily Caller, Sen. Rand Paul (R, KY) announced on “Hannity” last night that he plans to fight this bunch of garbage in the Senate:

Appearing on Hannity, Paul said he’ll introduce the bill early next week. “In this bill, we will nullify anything the president does that smacks of legislation. And there are several of the executive orders that appear as if he’s writing new law. That cannot happen.”

“I’m afraid that President Obama may have this king complex sort of developing, and we’re going to make sure that doesn’t happen,” Paul said.

Several state Governors, like ours here in Mississippi, Phil Bryant, have already issued letters to their State Legislatures, requesting that laws be passed to block Obama’s unconstitutional EOs.

And, I have some additional bad news for our imperial president: If he thinks America’s doctors are going to be his personal spies he’s got another thing coming.

My doctor reads this blog…and feels the same way about the Manchurian President as the rest of us Conservatives here in the Heartland.

He’s not impressed….to say the least.

Obama made a lot of Americans very angry yesterday….except gun shop owners.

They are selling out of all of their stock.

Obama was not raised like an average American.

Before you start arguing with the monitor, think about this: Would you have used innocent children as props to further a political agenda?

The NRA Fires Back…With Both Barrels!

gun-controlYesterday, the President of the National Rifle Association, Wayne LaPierre, held a Press Conference to respond to the horrible murders in Newtown, Connecticut, which were committed by a blood-thirsty psychopath.

Here is an excerpt from the speech he gave to open yesterday’s Press Conference:

…The truth is that our society is populated by an unknown number of genuine monsters — people so deranged, so evil, so possessed by voices and driven by demons that no sane person can possibly ever comprehend them. They walk among us every day. And does anybody really believe that the next Adam Lanza isn’t planning his attack on a school he’s already identified at this very moment?

How many more copycats are waiting in the wings for their moment of fame — from a national media machine that rewards them with the wall-to-wall attention and sense of identity that they crave — while provoking others to try to make their mark?

A dozen more killers? A hundred? More? How can we possibly even guess how many, given our nation’s refusal to create an active national database of the mentally ill?

And the fact is, that wouldn’t even begin to address the much larger and more lethal criminal class: Killers, robbers, rapists and drug gang members who have spread like cancer in every community in this country. Meanwhile, federal gun prosecutions have decreased by 40% — to the lowest levels in a decade.

So now, due to a declining willingness to prosecute dangerous criminals, violent crime is increasing again for the first time in 19 years! Add another hurricane, terrorist attack or some other natural or man-made disaster, and you’ve got a recipe for a national nightmare of violence and victimization.

And here’s another dirty little truth that the media try their best to conceal: There exists in this country a callous, corrupt and corrupting shadow industry that sells, and sows, violence against its own people.

Through vicious, violent video games with names like Bulletstorm, Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat and Splatterhouse. And here’s one: it’s called Kindergarten Killers. It’s been online for 10 years. How come my research department could find it and all of yours either couldn’t or didn’t want anyone to know you had found it?

Then there’s the blood-soaked slasher films like “American Psycho” and “Natural Born Killers” that are aired like propaganda loops on “Splatterdays” and every day, and a thousand music videos that portray life as a joke and murder as a way of life. And then they have the nerve to call it “entertainment.”

But is that what it really is? Isn’t fantasizing about killing people as a way to get your kicks really the filthiest form of pornography?

In a race to the bottom, media conglomerates compete with one another to shock, violate and offend every standard of civilized society by bringing an ever-more-toxic mix of reckless behavior and criminal cruelty into our homes — every minute of every day of every month of every year.

A child growing up in America witnesses 16,000 murders and 200,000 acts of violence by the time he or she reaches the ripe old age of 18.

And throughout it all, too many in our national media … their corporate owners … and their stockholders … act as silent enablers, if not complicit co-conspirators. Rather than face their own moral failings, the media demonize lawful gun owners, amplify their cries for more laws and fill the national debate with misinformation and dishonest thinking that only delay meaningful action and all but guarantee that the next atrocity is only a news cycle away.

Today, I will be out among the masses, shopping for my bride’s Christmas Present(s). However, not everybody will be shopping for the season, they’ll be shopping for their family’s defense.  They will be buying guns.

Whatever Obama and his Liberal Legion of Liars thought that they would be accomplishing by starting the War on Guns, again, the fact of the matter is:

Their threat to confiscate Americans’ guns is backfiring spectacularly!

Per CNBC.com:

The shootings triggered both a wave of anti-gun talk and a wave of buying by gun owners and enthusiasts. President Obama appointed Vice President Joe Biden to lead a gun violence task force. The group’s charge is to present to the President by the end of January the best ideas to reduce gun violence. It is a charge that has many fearing a ban on owning some, if not all, guns.

“Talk of banning the weapons is driving sales,” said Jeff Dillard, co-owner of the National Armory Gun Store & Range in Pompano Beach, Fl. “It’s an incredible knee jerk reaction to what the President said. He put Biden in charge of it and they [politicians] will go crazy like they usually do. So customers want to get weapons before a ban is put in place.”

Dillard called sales in the four days “incredible.” On Wednesday he said the store did four times the sales volume it did on the same day last year. “The expensive guns went first, then the middle of the road guns went next,” he said. “The cheap, less expensive guns will probably go today.”

It is not only guns that are people are buying up, it is ammunition too.

“I’ve sold more bulk ammo (1000 rounds) in the last three business days than I have all year,” said Henry Parro co-owner of Parro’s Gun Shop and Police Supplies in Waterbury, VT. “Customers are using their hand carts to load their cars.”

Parro said with Biden in charge of the gun violence task force, his clients sees the handwriting on the wall and they are deciding to exercise their right and buy guns now. As a senator, Biden steered a now expired ban on assault weapons through Congress, and has been a long-time supporter for stricter gun laws.

What Obama, his Administration, Internet-trolling Liberals, and their propagandists,  the Main Stream Media, have not figured out, is this simple fact:  Americans love our freedom. We are not like any other people on this planet. Just as our Forefathers were men of faith and conviction, so remain Americans here in the Heartland. 

You know of whom I refer: that massive ocean of red you see, when you look at a map of the way Americans voted on November 6th, 2012.

We remain the bedrock of America. The citizens who pay their taxes, work on its farms and in its factories, and fight and die on far-flung battlefields.

We are Americans. We never quit. We never surrender.

And, we will not give up our Second Amendment rights.

It’s a Freedom Thing.

It’s…an American Thing.
