Sunday Quick Thought: The Iranian Christian Underground and College Campus Revivals

Good morning! Here’s your quick thought for this Sunday morning: Did you know that there is a growth in Christian Underground Churches in iran? Over the last couple of years, 50,000 of the 75,000 mosques in Iran have closed. This growth in people turning to Jesus Christ in Iran was mentioned this morning on Fox and Friends. Did you also know that Generation Z here in the middle of Culture War-torn America have been turning to Christ as well? There have been revivals on college campuses with young people giving their lives to Jesus Christ. 15% of young men in Generation Z have already given their lives to Christ. There have even been high school kids standing up to protesters on high school campuses and while that is not visibly a proclamation of salvation, it is a sign that more kids are being raised in the way in which they should go. What hit me is the fact that during the darkest times of the Roman Empire after the death and resurrection of Christ, Christians would meet in the homes of Believers just as the Iranians are doing. This growth in Christianity was a backlash to the embracing of evil and moral iniquity which the Romans championed. In times of personal and national struggle, historically, people have always turned toward the Everlasting Light of Salvation. Sir Isaac Newton said that “for every action there is an equinoxidant reaction”. I have friends who are saying that what we are seeing now is biblical. I see that as well. What is interesting to me is that the congregations of non-denominational Bible-believing Churches are growing while those in the denominations who have forsworn the Eord of God for the word of man are shrinking to the point to where churches are closing. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the light. No one cometh to the father, but by me.” (John 14:6) The fact that those who are surrounded by darkness are seeking the Light of The World should give us all hope.

Until He Comes,
