Grenell on Haley’s Diss of Trump: “I’m Not Surprised”…I’m Not Either

See the source image

Newsmax.com reports that

Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell dismissed comments by former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley that Donald Trump ”let us down,” telling Newsmax TV on Friday that the former president is the de facto head of the Republican Party — now and for the foreseeable future.

Grenell was reacting to Haley, Trump’s U.N. ambassador and the former governor of South Carolina, who told Politico in a story released Friday that ”[Trump] went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him,” in reference to the Jan. 6 breach at the U.S. Capitol. ”And we can’t let that ever happen again.”

The former U.S. ambassador to Germany, Grenell shrugged at Haley, who two weeks ago on the Fox News Channel said Democrats ”beat [Trump] up” before and after his presidency and that there was no basis for impeachment.

”I’m not surprised,” he said on ”The Chris Salcedo Show.” “I think that President Trump is 100% the leader of the Republican Party. Whether he decides to run or not — he’s told me in the past that he was definitely going to run — I think the reality is that we haven’t had a leader of the Republican Party that has grown Hispanic support, Black support, inner city support, support from women and gays. This is a president who has really put together an incredible coalition.

”And I think anyone who thinks that he’s just going to go away quietly is dead wrong. He’s going to be the leader of the party and certainly have the decision on who is going to be the nominee in 2024.”

Nikki Haley is a political weather vane.

She is like ol’ Bubba Clinton was.

She sticks her finger up in the air to see which way the political winds are blowing and makes her decision as to not necessarily what is the right thing to do but rather, what will benefit her political future.

Before Haley was Trump’s Ambassador to the United Nations, she was the governor of South Carolina.

While in that position she made the decision to remove the Confederate Flag and statues of Americans who fought for the Confederacy and put everything in a museum, where those parts of America’s History would not “offend” anyone.

That was in 2015.

In 2019, after leaving her post in the Trump Administration, she wrote an opinion piece for The Washington Post (yes, THE Washington Post) attempting to explain why she removed a part of American History from the public square.

In her op ed, she wrote

Today’s outrage culture insists that everyone who holds a view that’s different from our own is not just mistaken. They must be evil and shunned. That’s wrong. I know too many good people in South Carolina who think differently about the flag but who are not the least bit racist.

The tragedy of all of this is that it makes compromise far less possible.

Her idea of compromise is identical to that of the Capitol Hill Elite of both parties.

“Think the way that we want you to and conform to our ethics and morality (or, lack thereof) and we will achieve UNITY.

The Capital Hill Elite are all snobs who could not stand the fact that Former President Trump would not play their political games and acted more like us average Americans than he did the professional politicians of Washington, the people who Nikki Haley is trying to cozy up to by insulting him.

Nikki Haley and the rest of the Never Trumpers among the Washington Elite always seem to forget this simple fact:

There are more Deplorables living here in the Heartland, 74 million of us, than there are on Mount Olympus, otherwise known as Capitol Hill.

And, WE are THEIR bosses.

THEY are not OURS.

Bubba Wallace Calls NASCAR Fans “Simple-Minded”, Says That “You Do Not Give Yourself Enough Time…to Educate Yourself”

Richard-Petty-Motorsports-Black-Lives-Matter-car

FoxNews.com reports that

Fox News contributor and Fox Nation host Lawrence Jones sat down with NASCAR’s Darrell ‘Bubba’ Wallace Jr. to talk about a series of controversies that have ensnared him, his sport, and the country since the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Wallace, 26 years old and the only active Black driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, has been an outspoken figure in recent weeks. Following Floyd’s death, he painted his No. 43 car black and displayed the phrases “Black Lives Matter” and “Compassion, love and understanding.”

“People see the organization Black Lives Matter and they have their criticism of the organization,” said Jones, when they spoke on June 30 in a special episode of “One Nation with Lawrence Jones” on Fox Nation.

“But when you put Black Lives Matter on your car, what does it mean to you?” he asked.

“That Black lives matter, too,” said Wallace, “We just want to be treated equally, that’s what we’re fighting for.”

‘”Black lives matter just as much as White lives matter, just as much as Hispanic lives matter,” he continued, “We’re all equal. We were all made the same. We all bleed the same color. It hurts when we bleed.”

Wallace became the center of the attention himself after the FBI launched an investigation into a noose found hanging in a garage assigned to his team at Talladega Superspeedway in June.

The biggest names in NASCAR, including drivers and fans, rallied around Wallace in an emotional scene, which Wallace told Jones was very meaningful to him.

The FBI subsequently concluded that no federal crime had been committed after they determined that the noose had been there since at least 2019, and therefore it could not have been directed at Wallace.

In the aftermath of the investigation, Wallace received criticism from some, including President Trump, who suggested that Wallace should apologize to those who defended him against a potential hate crime.

This Fox Nation interview was recorded before President Trump wrote those remarks on Twitter.

Jones observed that Wallace quickly spoke out in defense of another NASCAR driver, Kyle Larson, who was overheard during a virtual racing event in April using the N-word.

“You immediately said [Larson] should be forgiven and there was still a place for them,” remarked Jones. “Do you feel like that same level of grace and forgiveness was extended to you?”

“By drivers — for sure. By the simple-minded fans — no,” said Wallace. “You’re never gonna get that from them.”

“They’ll always kind of carry that chip on their shoulder and do everything to knock you off your pedestal. So their job is to always deliver hate — immediately deliver hate before the facts are even given.”

In fact, Wallace said he has learned to generally disregard the opinions of so-called “simple-minded” fans.

“You don’t give yourself enough time to understand, to educate yourself,” said Wallace, describing the mindset of some of his detractors. “You quickly just jump to a conclusion.”

“People say the same about me, but I’m just doing what I was delivered facts on,” he continued, referencing the FBI investigation.

“The people that don’t want change, the ones that don’t see how removing Confederate flag creates so much more opportunities for our sport to grow — they don’t want our sport to grow,” he concluded.

You know, gentle readers, we should have seen this coming.

The destruction of NASCAR as Americans have known and enjoyed it is well underway, following the same path as the NFL…right down the ol’ porcelain receptacle.

If I could talk to Bubba Wallace, I would tell him,

“Bubba, it’s NEVER been about the color of your skin. A racecar does not recognize the color of its driver.

Fans were more than willing to support you.

Great black athletes throughout my 61 years of life, from Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, and Hank Aaron to Jim Brown, Walter Payton, and Paul Warfield have literally had millions of Americans of all races appreciating their skill and cheering them on in their chosen athletic profession.

The thing is, as fierce a competitor as Bob Gibson was, famous for “brushing back” hitters from the plate with one of his legendary fastballs thrown outside the strike zone, I do not ever remember as a lad hearing him call the fans “simple-minded”.

None of the other men that I mentioned did, either.

I imagine that your ego took a bit of a beating when the FBI came back with its finding that the rope which you identified as a “noose” was simply a rope.

However, that does not give you the right to insult Americans who saved and scrimped in order to attend NASCAR races.

And, as far as NASCAR Fans flying the Confederate Flag at NASCAR Races, they have that right as Americans.

Just as you have the right to drive a car bearing the name of an organization whose leadership have self-identified as being a Marxist political organization.

Yes, you have that right.

And, the Liberals who have taken over NASCAR have the right to attempt to ban Confederate Flags from a sport which originated in North Carolina and whose fans are mainly located in the Southern part of the United States of America.

And, just as happened with the NFL, the fans have the right not to attend NASCAR races and not to watch them on TV…and not to buy from those who advertise with NASCAR.

So, if you want to call NASCAR fans “simple-minded”, go right ahead.

However, considering the axiom that “actions have consequences”, you may want to look in the mirror before you call anyone else “simple-minded”.”

Liberals ruin everything.

Until He Comes,

The New Fascism: State Flags Will No Longer Hang in US Capitol Tunnel, Due to Confederate Flag on Some

untitled (54)On the wall beside my computer desk, hangs my family crest, which I shipped to my Daddy (Southern Colloquialism for male parental unit) in the summer of 1978, from The Insignia Shoppe in York, England.

This same family crest also hangs in the home of Jefferson Davis, distinguished Graduate of West Point Academy, and the President of the Confederate States of America.

I am a proud Southerner, living in the NW Corner of the state of Mississippi.

As a Christian American, I attend church on Sunday mornings with my brothers and sisters in Christ, both black and white.

American Progressives, both Democrat and Republican, continue to try to take advantage of the horrible church massacre in Charleston, SC, in order to accomplish something that they have been trying to do for years: minimize the South’s political clout and erase our uniqueness as a region, through the taking away of a symbol of our heritage, and, any traces of the historical aspects of the Confederate Side of the Civil War, as exemplified by the mission begun under Former Memphis Mayor AC Wharton and his minions on the City Council, to dig up Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife, and move their bodies and a statue of the general, which all currently “reside” in a downtown park in the Medical Center.

The Alinsky-approved Tactics, currently being employed by Barack Obama and his Liberal minions on both sides of the aisle, are giving them, at best, a temporary victory, as shown by the results of a CNN poll, which shows that the opinion of Americans concerning the Confederate Flag remains unchanged in the last 15 years.

The poll shows that 57% of Americans see the flag more as a symbol of Southern pride than as a symbol of racism, about the same as in 2000 when 59% said they viewed it as a symbol of pride.

Why are Liberals showing such disrespect for this integral part of American History?

Modern American Liberals have no respect for any of our nation’s symbols of our heritage.

And now, that same cowardly, revisionist history has reared its ugly head in Oxford, Mississippi.

As we say (instead of “Once Upon a Time”) in Southern Fairy Tales,

Y’all ain’t gonna believe this s@#t…

According to USA Today,

State flags, including the controversial Mississippi flag featuring the Confederate battle emblem, will no longer hang in the tunnel at the U.S. Capitol where each had been displayed.

Rep. Candice Miller, R-Mich., said Thursday the flags, which had been removed during renovations, will instead be replaced with prints of each state’s commemorative coin.

“Given the controversy surrounding confederate imagery, I decided to install a new display,’’ Miller, chairwoman of the House Administration Committee, said in a statement. “I am well aware of how many Americans negatively view the Confederate flag, and, personally, I am very sympathetic to these views.  However, I also believe that it is not the business of the federal government to dictate what flag each state flies.’’

Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., had called on Congress to remove all items bearing the Confederate battle flag, including his state flag.

The flags had been displayed on the wall in the tunnel that runs between a House office building and the Capitol. Visitors and members of Congress travel between the office building and the Capitol by walking or taking small subway cars that go by the flags.

“I am pleased that the Architect of the Capitol will no longer display symbols of hatred and bigotry in the esteemed halls of the United States House of Representatives,’’ Thompson said in a statement. “As I said last summer, this is the People’s House and we should ensure that we, as an institution, refuse to condone symbols that seek to divide us.’’

The committee’s move Thursday puts the spotlight back on the states, including Mississippi, where battles are brewing over whether to remove Confederate flags and statues from public places.

Last summer, Thompson urged Congress to hold a hearing on his resolution to remove items from House grounds that feature Confederate flag emblems. Democratic lawmakers, including Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., joined Thompson in the effort. But little happened.

Thompson, civil rights groups and others argue the Confederate flag is a symbol of racism and a reminder of the South’s long history of segregation.

Some communities, towns and universities in Mississippi have removed the flag. Carlos Moore, an attorney from Mississippi, recently filed a lawsuit to remove it from public spaces.

Supporters of leaving the flag alone say it’s part of the South’s heritage. Supporters in Mississippi have held rallies. Gov. Phil Bryant, acting at the request of Sons of Confederate Veterans, recently proclaimed April as Confederate Heritage Month.

A renewed national debate over the Confederate battle flag began last year when white gunman Dylann Roof allegedly shot nine people, all black, at a historic black church in Charleston, S.C. Roof had used the flag in promoting racist views.

South Carolina later removed a Confederate flag from its Capitol grounds.

Thompson said Mississippi state lawmakers should act.

“I can only hope that this understanding will somehow reach the hearts and minds of the elected officials in the state of Mississippi and they will follow suit and rid our state of this ultimate vestige of slavery and bigotry,” he said.

National attention has turned to the fight in Mississippi over whether to remove the emblem from the state flag. Mississippi state lawmakers have said voters should decide whether the flag should be changed.

Mississippi Republican Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker have said they think the flag should be changed, but said the decision should be left to the state.

Miller said members of Congress can continue to display their state flags.

How magnanimous of them.

As I wrote earlier, Modern American Liberals have no respect for any of our nation’s symbols of our heritage.

To back up my claim, let’s go back to 9/13/11, 2 days after America solemnly remembered the 10th anniversary of the worst attack ever on American soil by Islamic Terrorists.  James Robbins wrote the following story for The Washington Times, in which he illuminated a whispered conversation between the President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, and First Lady, Michelle Obama:

The internet was buzzing this week with video of First Lady Michelle Obama apparently showing extreme disrespect to the American flag at a ceremony in honor of the victims of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. As police and firefighters fold the flag to the sound of marching bagpipers, a skeptical looking Mrs. Obama leans to her husband and appears to say, “all this just for a flag.” She then purses her lips and shakes her head slightly as Mr. Obama nods.

Just as Liberals attempt to allow “cross dressing Bubba” to use the women’s public restroom is receiving a nationwide backlash that Liberals had not counted on, so will this boneheaded, ignorant, fascist attempt by the Obama Administration to blackmail states into changing our flags.

The thing about attempting to rewrite and ignore history, is the fact that Liberals have no power over it.

It has already happened.

And, they are powerless to change it.

…And, it frustrates the snot out of them.

Liberal Hypocrisy Vs. the Confederacy: The War to Eliminate History Continues

Modern American Liberals have no respect for any of our nation’s symbols of our heritage.

These cowardly individuals continue to attempt to wipe out a part of our American Heritage.

As they say (instead of “Once Upon a Time”) in Southern Fairy tales,

Y’all ain’t gonna believe this s@#t…

According to foxnews.com,

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…circa 1865.

A new crop of Confederate flag controversies is boiling up along the East Coast just in time for the holidays.

In Virginia, residents are fighting over the flying of the rebel flag in Danville, as a new billboard welcomes drivers to “the last capital of the Confederacy.” About 50 supporters carried the Confederate flag during an unauthorized display at a Roanoke Christmas parade earlier this month. And the flag won a victory in Pennsylvania on Tuesday when Kutztown University overturned a ban on the rebel insignia.

“It’s our right to show our heritage, our pride, what we believe in,” Virginia Flaggers member Tommy Goddard told WDBJ7.

The Danville billboard, which went up last week, greets those entering town with the message: “Welcome to Danville. The last capital of the Confederacy and proud of it.” Those leaving town see a similar sentiment with the Beverley Hillbilly’s-like addition, “Y’all come back.”

Some residents have already complained about flagpoles with Confederate flags the group has placed around the city, Goddard said. City officials confirmed to WDBJ7 that a complaint was filed to the planning and zoning board.

Goddard’s group doesn’t seem intent on backing down.

“Hoping that the city realizes if they go for this code, that there is always other ways to get around ordinances and codes, other ways to make sure that flag or flag pole stays up,” Goddard said.

The Danville debate is at least the second Confederate hullabaloo in Virginia this month.

As many as 50 flag bearers carried the rebel banner during a parade in Roanoke on Dec. 11, The Roanoke Times reported. The unauthorized display was reportedly organized by several pro-Confederate flag groups and formed behind the permitted float for the Sons of Confederate Veterans 28th Infantry Camp 49.

The Roanoke NAACP, which opposed the Sons of Confederate Veterans float even before the unsanctioned flag bearers showed up, organized an opposition rally near the parade’s beginning.

“It shocks and saddens me that these issues resulted in individuals on both sides of the debate resorting to the use of a Christmas parade as a venue to further their cause, not celebrate the season,” Downtown Roanoke Inc. board Chairman Tony Pearman told The Times. DRI organizes the parade.

And while Confederate flag supporters in both Virginia cases face significant opposition to their cause, the flag claimed a win in a small Pennsylvania town Tuesday.

Kutztown University overturned a ban that barred the Confederate flag – and swastikas – from being displayed inside dorm rooms and other areas on campus, Inside Higher Ed reported.

“The Confederate flag and swastika are NOT permitted in any residence hall, suite and apartment or student room,” the original policy, enacted earlier this month, stated. The word “not” was uppercased and bolded in the original text.

But the university’s legal counsel put the kibosh on Kutztown’s prohibition, citing a need to review the ban’s “constitutionality.”

“The university will educate our students and other members of our community, so they will understand the historical and modern context for these symbols,” a university statement issued Tuesday said, “and we will continue to advocate for an environment wherein all those associated with our university can feel valued and safe.”

Meanwhile, down in the Southern Port known as the “Big Easy”, the New York Times reports that

NEW ORLEANS — A lawsuit is challenging a city plan to remove prominent Confederate monuments by alleging that the city does not own the land under three of the monuments and that they are protected from removal by state and federal laws.

The suit, filed shortly after the City Council voted Thursday to remove four monuments, asked Judge Carl Barbier of Federal District Court in New Orleans to halt removal plans. The suit was filed by three preservation organizations and a New Orleans chapter of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

The decision by New Orleans is one of the most sweeping gestures yet by an American city to sever ties with its Confederate past. New Orleans, like other places, was spurred into action against Confederate symbols after a shooting at an African-American church in Charleston, S. C., in June left nine parishioners dead.

The monuments slated for removal include a 60-foot-tall marble column and statue dedicated to Gen. Robert E. Lee and a large equestrian statue of P. G. T. Beauregard, a Louisiana-born Confederate general. Also designated for removal are a statue of Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederacy, and an obelisk dedicated to a group of white supremacists who sought to topple a biracial Reconstruction government in New Orleans.

The suit said the monuments were part of the city’s history and should be protected.

“Regardless whether the Civil War era is regarded as a catastrophic mistake or a noble endeavor, it is undeniably a formative event in the history of Louisiana,” the suit stated. “It is the source of much of the cultural heritage” of the city and state, it added, “including countless novels, short stories, plays, monuments, statues, films, stories, songs, legends and other expressions of cultural identity.”

The city is relying on an ordinance that allows it to take down monuments on public property or under its control considered a “nuisance” because they foster dangerous and unlawful ideologies of supremacy and may become rallying points for violent demonstrations.

City officials have agreed that they will not remove the monuments before a Jan. 14 hearing of the case, according to court documents filed Friday.

The suit is aimed at Mayor Mitch Landrieu and, in a legal twist, the federal Department of Transportation and other federal transportation officials for their role in paying for streetcar work that has, according to the suit, damaged the monuments. The suit also claimed that federal officials should stop the removal because the monuments should be considered historic elements of nearby streetcar lines.

Officials from the city and the Transportation Department did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment. A lawyer for the plaintiffs declined to comment.

Louis R. Koerner Jr., a New Orleans lawyer and historian not involved in the case, said the suit had merit.

“I think they put their foot out and tripped everybody up,” he said. Mr. Koerner said the questions raised about whether the monuments should be viewed as integral to the streetcar work was clever and could force the city into a lengthy historic review process.

The 51-page suit said removal would be unlawful for many other reasons — including violating laws protecting monuments dedicated to military veterans and history.

These attempts at rewriting and censuring history, in the name of Political Correctness, “racism”, and “hurt feelings” are one of the biggest exercises in Liberal Hypocrisy that this ol’ Son of the South has seen in my ever-lengthening lifetime.

I guess that, for Liberals, it beats dealing with a very harsh reality.

That being, their direct responsibility for the failure of “The Great Society”, the massive taxpayer-funded program, launched by Liberal Democrat President Lyndon Baines Johnson.

Do you know how many black children are being born out of wedlock, 70 years later, after the launch of this program, which was supposed to “lift people up”?

Among non-Hispanic blacks, the figure is highest, at 72.2 percent; for American Indians/Alaska Natives, it’s 66.9 percent; 53.5 percent for Hispanics; 29.4 percent for non-Hispanic whites; and a mere 17.1 percent for Asians/Pacific Islanders.

These Americans, unlike the majority of us, are growing up without appropriate parental guidance, i.e., no one teaching them “the way in which they should go”.

The Great Society created a dependent class, which, instead of diminishing as it’s members joined the workforce, increased from generation to generation, relying on the federal government to provide their every need.

Uncle Sugar became Mother, Father, Preacher, and Doctor to generations of Americans. This “plantation mentality” continues to this day.

Instead of moving forward, by exercising the self-reliance that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. preached so well, these individuals are content on being “taken care of” by Uncle Sugar, as if being held down by their own poor, miserable circumstance, was a good thing.

Since August of 2014, the results of LBJ’s “Great Society” have been the lead story in seemingly, every television newscast, on every newspaper front page, and on every internet news/political website, as the results of a president espousing Racial Division and Class Warfare “reap the whirlwind”.

Meanwhile, these same condescending Liberals, who created the failed “great Society”, insist that everything will be better is we just rewrite history, all of us Southerners “sit down and shut up” and remove the Confederate Battle Flag, including the Mississippi State Flag, from public view.

And, allow them to continue to be condescending hypocrites.

NOT A CHANCE.

Dr. Ben Carson, the Mississippi State Flag, and Liberal Hypocrisy

Banning-Flags-600-LIYou hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. – Matthew 7:5 (KJV)

When trying to decide what to write about this Sunday Morning, I came across this opinion piece, disguised as an article, on nytimes.com:

LOUISVILLE, Miss. — In single strokes after the massacre of nine black churchgoers in Charleston in June, Confederate battle flags were taken from statehouse grounds in South Carolina and Alabama, pulled from shelves at major retailers like Walmart and declared unwelcome, if to limited effect, at Nascar races.

What here is not so simple in Mississippi. The Confederate battle flag is not simply flying in one hotly disputed spot at the State Capitol but occupying the upper left corner of the state flag, which has been flying since 1894. And as recently as 2001, Mississippians voted by a nearly two-to-one ratio to keep it. Recent polling suggests the majority have not changed their minds.

“My flag’s been flying for 33 years, and I’m not about to take it down,” said Nancy Jenkins, 58, a postal worker who is white and who flies the Mississippi flag and the United States flag at her house a block south of Louisville City Hall. “It doesn’t stand for hate. It means a lot of people fought and died.”

Over the past few months, there have been scattered outbreaks of municipal defiance by those who find the Confederate flag offensive, as mayors and city councils from the Delta to the Pine Belt have decided to no longer fly the state flag.

But beyond these sporadic gestures, any organized effort was always going to wait until politicians were on the safe side of this year’s election. With the closing of the polls on Tuesday night, what could turn out to be the last battle over the Confederate flag in Mississippi has begun in earnest.

“It’s all about momentum,” said Dane Waters, the president of the Citizens in Charge Foundation, which organizes ballot initiatives and referendums nationwide. “If you take a pocket here and pocket there of things happening, I don’t think anything is going to change.”

This week, Mr. Waters, a self-described conservative who has been retained by a group of people he declined to name, will arrive in Mississippi to pick up a difficult task: forming an unlikely and perhaps unmanageable alliance of preachers, business executives, state boosters and civil rights advocates to remove forever the Confederate battle flag from the state flag.

He is working with the Flag for All Mississippians Coalition, which was started by Sharon Brown, an activist in Jackson, who is black. The campaign has already been organizing supporters and held a hundreds-strong rally at the State Capitol. But Mr. Waters spoke of other tools that will be brought to bear outside the public eye, such as pressure on political donors and lobbying in the Legislature.

The coalition that he and others are trying to put together would need to unite groups almost never politically aligned, testing the depth of what Mr. Waters called the state’s “tremendous social, economic and racial divide.”

In the immediate aftermath of Charleston, it seemed that such a coalition might be possible here. Several conservative political leaders called for a change, including the state’s two United States senators and the speaker of the Mississippi House (inspiring critics to print “Keep the Flag, Change the Speaker” yard signs). Down came flags at city buildings in Grenada, Magnolia, Starkville, Clarksdale and Yazoo City. In October, even the University of Mississippi lowered the flag at the circle where segregationists once clashed with federal troops over the admission of James Meredith.

But the move to change the flag, which, in the words of the daughter of the state senator who designed it, was intended to “perpetuate in a legal and lasting way that dear battle flag under which so many of our people had so gloriously fought,” is not widely popular. It takes no time at all in any Mississippi downtown to find that out.

Darn skippy, Percy.

My family and friends, down here in Realityville, in NW Mississippi and, my Facebook Friends, who participate alongside me on Political Chat Pages, will testify that nothing gets my 56-year old blood pressure up faster than hypocritical, condescending Liberals.

This story is a prime example of one of those loathsome creature’s thought processes.

While this New York Times reporter has been trying to remove the speck from the eyes of Mississippians, his fellow Liberal “Journalists” at http://www.politico.com manufactured a false “news story” in an effort to get Dr. Ben Carson, World-renowned Neurosurgeon and Christian Conservative American, who just happens to be black, to drop out of the Republican Primary Race for that Party’s Presidential Nomination.

As I reported yesterday, before Politico admitted to lying by changing the “Lead” of their article, Rush Limbaugh, the Godfather of Conservative Talk Radio made the following accurate observation on his program:

I think what we have here is an electronic lynching.  We have an electronic lynching being conducted against a Republican African-American candidate by a majority white, mainstream American liberal media where — if you’re not a good liberal and a good African-American on their plantation — they are gonna take you out.  And we are witnessing it.  It’s the same thing, folks, that happened to Clarence Thomas back in 1990 I believe it was. Again, back in 1990 there wasn’t any Fox News. There wasn’t a blogosphere. There were just the beginnings of the conservative presence on the web — and there was me, talk radio. But there was nothing else.  This is the kind of thing they used to get away with. This used to be the standard way news happened.  This is not character assassination.  This goes way beyond character assassination.  This is an attempt to destroy Carson’s reputation, his political future, his career, his credibility, all of it.  This is intended to destroy him.  Like just told our liberal caller: It’s the only way these people can win.  They think Carson’s a lunatic and they still can’t — or are not comfortable taking him on in the arena of ideas.  They have to character assassinate and destroy.

This is despicable, despicable stuff.

American Progressives, both Democrat and Republican, continue to try to take advantage of the horrible church massacre in Charleston, SC, in order to accomplish something that they have been trying to do for years: minimize the South’s political clout and erase our uniqueness as a region, through the taking away of a symbol of our heritage, and, any traces of the historical aspects of the Confederate Side of the Civil War, as exemplified by the current mission of Outgoing Memphis Mayor AC Wharton and his minions on the City Council, to dig up Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife, and move their bodies and a statue of the general, which all currently “reside” in a downtown park in the Medical Center.

Martin Luther King, Jr. preached so well, these people I saw, were content on being “taken care of” by Uncle Sugar, as if being held down by their own poor, miserable circumstance, was a good thing.

Ole Miss Liberals Remove State Flag From Campus Because of Confederate Flag in Its Corner

thB1USW3NQOn the wall beside my computer desk, hangs my family crest, which I shipped to my Daddy (Southern Colloquialism for male parental unit) in the summer of 1978, from an insignia shoppe in York, England.

Why have Liberals shown such disrespect for this integral part of American History?

Modern American Liberals have no respect for any of our nation’s symbols of our heritage.

And now, that same cowardly, revisionist history has reared its ugly head in Oxford, Mississippi.

As they say (instead of “Once Upon a Time”) in Southern Fairy tales,

Y’all ain’t gonna believe this s@#t…

Foxnews.com reports that

The University of Mississippi took down the state flag from campus on Monday morning, heeding calls from students and administrators who said the inclusion of the Confederate symbol in one portion of the flag made it unfit to fly.

The flag, which was lowered and furled by the UM Police Department, is slated to be preserved in the University Archives, alongside student and faculty resolutions calling for its removal, according to aUniversity statement issued on Monday.

“The University of Mississippi community came to the realization years ago that the Confederate battle flag did not represent many of our core values, such as civility and respect for others,” Interim Chancellor Morris Stocks said in the statement. “Since that time, we have become a stronger and better university. We join other leaders in our state who are calling for a change in the state flag.”

The student senate voted 33-15-1 to take the flag down on Oct. 20 and, six days later, the banner came down, following similar recommendations from the Faculty Senate, the Graduate Student Council and the Staff Council.

More than 200 people took part in a remove-the-flag rally Oct. 16 on the Oxford campus. It was sponsored by the university chapter of the NAACP.

The University of Mississippi has struggled with Old South symbolism for decades. In 1962, deadly riots broke out when James Meredith was enrolled as the first black student, under court order. Ole Miss administrators have tried to distance the school from Confederate symbols. Sports teams are still called the Rebels, but the university several years ago retired the Colonel Rebel mascot — a white-haired old man some thought resembled a plantation owner. The university also banned sticks in the football stadium nearly 20 years ago, which eliminated most Confederate battle flags that fans carried.

“As Mississippi’s flagship university, we have a deep love and respect for our state,” Stocks said. “Because the flag remains Mississippi’s official banner, this was a hard decision. I understand the flag represents tradition and honor to some. But to others, the flag means that some members of the Ole Miss family are not welcomed or valued. That is why the university faculty, staff and leadership have united behind this student-led initiative.”

Since 1894, the Mississippi state flag has featured the Confederate insignia in the upper left quadrant. Three thick strips of blue, white and red, from top to bottom, compose the remainder of the flag. Residents chose to keep the flag during a 2001 statewide vote.

The Confederate flag became a contentious public issue following the shooting deaths of several black parishioners at a historic South Carolina church during an allegedly racially-motivated incident in June. The alleged shooter was pictured in online profiles posing with the Confederate flag, images which, in part, led to new calls for the symbol to be removed from various public locations.

Yesterday, Mississippi Governor Ed Bryant provided the following statement to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger:

Mississippians overwhelmingly voted in 2001 to adopt the current Mississippi state flag.  I believe publicly funded institutions should respect the law as it is written today. It clearly states ‘The state flag shall receive all the respect and ceremonious etiquette given the American flag.

Last Thursday, Governor Phil Bryant told reporters he did not think the university’s associated student body senate, who voted 33-15 with one abstention to request the removal of the flag from campus, had the “legal authority” to determine whether the flag flies, due to the fact that it was a public building.

Evidently, just like Liberal Trolls on Facebook, these spoiled Liberals at the University of Mississippi believe themselves to be “above it all”.

According to their yearly Financial Report, in 2014, the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) received approximately $250,000 in State Appropriations.

Governor Bryant, here’s an idea:

If the students and faculty of Ole Miss are not proud enough of their state to fly the State Flag, they, evidently, don’t need the State of Mississippi’s support.

Withhold the State Appropriations until the State Flag is, once again, flown over the Campus of Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi.

Spoiled Brats always need to be taught a lesson.

Memphis and the General: Of History, Heritage, and Homicides

untitled (2)If Memphis Mayor AC Wharton and the City Council expected that once they voted to remove the bodies of Confederate Army Brigadier General Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife, along with the statue of the General on his horse, from the Downtown Park which used to bear his name, that there would be no resistance, they overestimated themselves.

On Saturday, Breitbart .com reported the story…

On July 7 the Memphis City Council voted unanimously to exhume the body of Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest from its 110 year resting place and move it to another location.

The body of Forrest’s wife will be exhumed as well.

According to Local Memphis, the council voted to exhume Forrest’s remains from Health Sciences Park on Union Avenue. They plan to sell a statue of Forrest as well–they are thinking of “selling the statue to anyone who wants it.”

Forrest was a businessman who become wealthy in the cotton trade prior to the Civil War. He abandoned that to fight federal forces once the war commenced, eventually becoming a lieutenant general in the Confederate Army. He was known for waging brutal warfare against federal forces in Mississippi and Tennessee.

The Forrest family has made clear that they are “solidly opposed to digging up the graves and moving them any place.” They are opposed to moving the statue as well.

Some believe the Memphis City Council vote is another example of the anti-Confederacy hysteria that swept parts of the country after a photo surfaced of alleged Charleston gunman Dylann Roof posing with a Confederate flag. But city council member Janis Fullilove asked if the move has something to do with a rumored “$500 million [University of Tennessee] expansion” that would use the land where Forrest is currently buried.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Yesterday, a unique annual event happened, with the General looking on…

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) – Monday is Nathan Bedford Forrest Day in Tennessee, as prescribed by state law.

On Sunday, hundreds of Forrest supporters filled Health Sciences Park as a part of an annual commemoration and to rally support for keeping the statue in place after the city council voted to remove the statue and the graves of Forrest and his wide.

Today’s event included Civil War re-enactors. Many brought Confederate flags.

“We’re here to show support to leave the statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest in the park,” said Robert Rubel of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Liberals will tell you that the men and women, who came to the park yesterday, were ” a bunch of Right-Wing Extremists” and “bigoted haters.”

They weren’t.

They were average Americans from Memphis and its suburbs taking a stand, protecting their heritage.

Y’know, I never thought that I would halfway agree with ANYTHING that the Liberal “News” Site “The Huffington Post” published, and then they posted this…

In the creepiest development to emerge from the Confederate flag debate yet, the Memphis City Council intends to dig up General Nathan Bedford Forrest’s bones. Sure, he isn’t the most loved figure in history. He was a confederate general and, well, yeah he started the KKK. But c’mon.

This war on symbols of the confederacy might just have taken the leap from ‘possibly understandable’ to ‘get the straight-jackets’ level.

Are we really going to open the grave of this guy, and his wife no less, just to prove that we all think slavery was wrong? How is this different from ISIS destroying relics from Ancient Egypt because they think they are immoral? History is not always squeaky clean…in fact, it rarely is.

The city of Memphis already renamed the park where Forrest’s remains are located. Something that most reasonable people can understand. However, going so far as to dig up a person who has been buried in the same location for over 100 years is a bit…well…it’s macabre.

Slavery was horrible…but it happened. Historical landmarks aren’t always happy places. Just ask anyone who has ever visited la Place de la Concorde or the Tower of London.

History often sucks.

We can’t erase history. We shouldn’t erase history. We should teach about it, so we don’t make the same mistakes twice. Besides that, Memphis has bigger things to worry about.

According to the FBI, Memphis was the 3rd most dangerous city in the country in 2015 with 200,000 or more residents. That’s a real problem if you call Memphis home. Perhaps the city council should be a little more concerned about the present than the past.

As a 56 year old resident of the Memphis Area, I have borne witness to the governmental mismanagement and resulting decay and degeneration of what was once of the friendliest places in the country to live.

There are still friendly people in Memphis, but, chances are, they work in Memphis and are living in the suburbs, like I do.

The mass exodus of Memphis taxpayers started during the reign of the last mayor, when Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton told taxpayers of a Caucasian persuasion, if they did not like the way he was running the city, they could leave.

So, they did.

Since then, violent crime in Memphis has steadily risen, to the point where some suburban husbands will not allow their families to enter Memphis during the day or night.

On February 6, 2013, the Majority-Black-Democrat Memphis City Council renamed three Confederate-themed parks, including the park in question, to prevent some State legislators from blocking such name changes.

The council passed a resolution to immediately rename Confederate Park and Jefferson Davis Park in downtown Memphis and Nathan Bedford Forrest Park, which lies just a few miles away. The vote was 9-0 with three members abstaining.

And now, they are going after someone who cannot fight back…because he’s dead.

Meanwhile, the black-on-black homicidal genocide continues in what was once the “City of Good Abode”, now #3 on the FBI’s Most Dangerous Cities List.

It must be the Confederate Flag’s fault…or, maybe, the fault of the General and his wife…maybe even, his horse.

It has to be. Otherwise, the people who have been responsible for the descent of “The City of Good Abode” into Detroit South, where black Americans are being murdered every night of the week, would have to be held responsible for their own actions.

And we can’t have that, now…

Can we?

Until He Comes.

Disrespecting the Dead: The House Votes to Ban Confederate Flags…at National Cemeteries.

WTOP.com reports that

The low-profile move came Tuesday evening after a brief debate on a measure funding the National Park Service, which maintains 14 national cemeteries, most of which contain graves of Civil War soldiers.

The proposal by Rep. Jared Huffman, D-Calif., added language to block the Park Service from allowing private groups to decorate the graves of southern soldiers with Confederate flags in states that commemorate Confederate Memorial Day. The cemeteries affected are the Andersonville and Vicksburg cemeteries in Georgia and Mississippi.

“The American Civil War was fought, in Abraham Lincoln’s words, to ‘save the last best hope of Earth,’” Huffman said in a debate in which he was the only speaker. “We can honor that history without celebrating the Confederate flag and all of the dreadful things that it symbolizes.”

The flag ban was adopted by a voice vote. The Park Service funding bill is scheduled for a vote on Thursday.

Pressure has mounted to ban display of the flag on state and federal property in the wake of last month’s tragic murders at a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina. The accused killer, Dylann Roof, posed with the Confederate flag in online photos and reportedly has told authorities that he wanted to start a race war.

Following the lead of GOP Gov. Nikki Haley, the South Carolina Senate has voted to remove the flag from the Capitol grounds and the state House was taking up the measure Wednesday.

But House leaders have deferred action on a plan by Bennie Thompson, a black Democrat from Mississippi, to ban Confederate images such as that contained in the Mississippi flag from being displayed in the House complex. Numerous statues of Confederate figures such as Jefferson Davis, the president of the Confederate States, are also on display in the Capitol.

A little over an hour away from where I sit, lies a very special place, where brother fought against brother, and are buried together, along with succeeding generations of family members.

The Shiloh National Cemetery at Pittsburg Landing, Tenn., is situated on the west bank of the Tennessee River, just below the landing, and on the bluff immediately overlooking it. It contains ten acres of ground, and is enclosed by a rough stone wall of the most substantial character. A convenient lodge has been erected, and a permanent keeper is stationed at the Cemetery. A flag-staff has been erected on the bluff overlooking the river, from which the Union flag is kept constantly floating. The grounds are laid off into sections and groups by avenues and walks, neatly graded and graveled.

The number of interments in this Cemetery is 3,584, of which 2,359 are at present unknown. They represent 203 regiments from thirteen different States, besides colored troops and employees. The graves are all designated by head-boards numbered to correspond with the printed Roll of Honor.

These remains have been collected with great care from their scattered graves through that wild and desolate country, and on the line of the Tennessee River from Fort Henry to the foot of the shoals; and from no less than 565 separate localities.

The most interesting feature of this Cemetery will be found in the numerous Regimental Groups, of which there are no less than twenty-nine. These were originally buried upon the battle-field by their comrades, and great care has been taken to preserve the original arrangement. Occasionally the addition of a few scattered graves has been made to the original group.

On no other battlefield through the entire South and Southwest, does there seem to have been so great care and pains taken in the burial of the dead and in providing for their future identification. In the case of some of the regiments, even after the lapse of five years and the exposure of the head-boards to the annual ravages of fire, every grave has been identified.

Several years ago, I bore witness to the annual reenactment, which is held every Memorial Day on the Civil War Battlefield of Shiloh.

Cannons are fired, guns discharge, men feign falling in battle.

All that day, “Decoration Day” was observed, as family members laid flowers on the graves of those who had been laid to rest at  Historic Shiloh Cemetery.

This yearly event is a solemn occasion, a chance to teach young Americans about the sacrifices of those who came before them.

And now, a bunch of spineless jellyfish, far removed from that historic battleground in Middle Tennessee, are attempting to take away a solemn heritage and birthright, from the very people who gave them their cushy jobs, while they genuflect to the altar of Political Correctness and the philosophy of “going along to get along”, led by their High Priest John Boehner.

Spineless, Vichy Republicans and Hive-Mind liberal Democrats.

The dead can not fight back.

This is beyond disgraceful.

Our First Anti-American President Shows His True Colors

However, their 14-percentage-point edge over liberals last year, 38% vs. 24%, is the smallest in Gallup’s trends since 1992. The percentage of U.S. adults identifying themselves as politically conservative in 2014 was unchanged from 2013, as was the percentage of moderates, at 34%, while the percentage considering themselves liberal rose a percentage point for the third straight year. – Gallup.com

This being true…

When did America stop being the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave…and start being the Land of the Restricted and the Home of the Apologetic?

Regardless of what your first thought probably is, this phenomenon did not originate with Barack Hussein Obama, it just intensified with him.

Thoughout his reign as the Leader of the Far Left, masquerading as a Moderate President of the United States, Obama has shown himself to be out of touch with average American thought.

Let’s review a few examples:

He started out his presidency by giving a speech at the University of Cairo, on June 4th, 2009,  an attempt to reach out to the Muslim World, the same people who danced in the streets when 3,000 Americans were massacred on September 1st, 2001.  He said:

…There must be a sustained effort to listen to each other; to learn from each other; to respect one another; and to seek common ground. As the Holy Koran tells us, “Be conscious of God and speak always the truth.” (Applause.) That is what I will try to do today — to speak the truth as best I can, humbled by the task before us, and firm in my belief that the interests we share as human beings are far more powerful than the forces that drive us apart

Now part of this conviction is rooted in my own experience. I’m a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims. As a boy, I spent several years in Indonesia and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and at the fall of dusk. As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith.

As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam. It was Islam — at places like Al-Azhar — that carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe’s Renaissance and Enlightenment. It was innovation in Muslim communities — (applause) — it was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra; our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing; our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed. Islamic culture has given us majestic arches and soaring spires; timeless poetry and cherished music; elegant calligraphy and places of peaceful contemplation. And throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality. (Applause.)

I also know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story. The first nation to recognize my country was Morocco. In signing the Treaty of Tripoli in 1796, our second President, John Adams, wrote, “The United States has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Muslims.” And since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States. They have fought in our wars, they have served in our government, they have stood for civil rights, they have started businesses, they have taught at our universities, they’ve excelled in our sports arenas, they’ve won Nobel Prizes, built our tallest building, and lit the Olympic Torch. And when the first Muslim American was recently elected to Congress, he took the oath to defend our Constitution using the same Holy Koran that one of our Founding Fathers — Thomas Jefferson — kept in his personal library. (Applause.)

This was only the beginning of a worldwide apology tour, where he made a very public show of apologizing for our country’s transgressions to every two-bit, tinhorn despot around the globe.

Beginning with the passage of Obamacare, by him and his Congressional minions, holding clandestine meetings, both on Christmas, and in the dark of night, Obama has shown the propensity to do whatever he wants to, in order to further his personal agenda, regardless of the wishes of the people whom he is supposed to be serving.

The day after this Gallup Presidential Job Approval Poll closed, Obama, flailing mightily in a situation of his own making, the Debt Ceiling/Budget Battle, announced in a morning press conference, that 80% of Americans wanted their taxes increased.

Of course, he had no corroborating evidence to back that claim up.  He just pulled it out of thin air (or a darker region).

Let’s look at a more recent occurrence, shall we?

The Friday night before last, after the United States Supreme Court decided to legislate, instead of interpret the existing rights of the Constitution, and ruled that “gay marriage” was a “right’, Obama and his henchwoman, the Iranian Valerie Jarrett, decided to bathe the White House in a rainbow of spotlights, in garish celebration.

So naturally, they bathed the White House last Saturday Night in Red, White, and Blue, right?

Are you kiddin’?

Of course they didn’t.

In American Politics, as far as anybody can remember, that is still alive and kicking, you have had those of a political ideology who were Pro-American and Gung Ho about all the things that this country stands for. And, on the other side, you had those of a political ideology who criticized everything that America stood for, and still stands for, to this day.

From those who believed that Communism would be great for America back in the 1950s, to those in the 1960’s, who wanted to “tune in, turn on, and drop out”, and spit on our returning Servicemen, to those of the 1970s who were naive pacifists like their President, Jimmy Carter, to those in the 1980s, who were part of the “Me Generation”, to those whom we call “Progressives” (a misnomer) or “Modern Liberals” in our present generation, Including President Barack Hussein Obama and all of his minions, there has always been a minority segment of American Society, who despise everything that this land, which was given us by the Almighty and was fought for and died for by those before us, stands for, while they reap all the benefits of America the Beautiful.

As I wrote yesterday, America is suffering under this “Tyranny of the Minority”.

Obama owes everything that he is to the benevolence and largess of America and her people.

In his second term as President, he has proven that he is president of some of the people, not all of the people.

And, those of us, whom his failed political ideology does not appeal to, have had enough and are not going “quietly into that good night”.

Ask those country clerks who have resigned rather than issue marriage licenses to homosexual “couples”. Or, ask those NASCAR Fans proudly and defiantly waving their Confederate Flags at Daytona this past weekend.

Barack Hussein Obama’s “flipping the bird” to the American People on the evening of the 4th, shows just how ignorant his pandering to special interest groups and his disdain of us “average Americans” really is.

Where the exceptionalism of America lies…is not in the Halls of Power…but in the courage and spirit of the average American. A courage and spirit, which our history proves, has driven American Citizens to build a nation, which is indeed exceptional among all others.

Thr secret of this country’s exceptionalism is the “Average Joe”, the 9 to 5′er, working himself into the grave to try to provide for his family.

It was this same “Average Joe”, who fired the shot heard around the world and began the War for American Independence, who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day in World War II, who waded through rice paddies in Vietnam, and who swallowed sand in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. The same “Average Joe” who, as a New York City Policeman or Fireman, ran up the stairs of the World Trade Center on 9/11/01, instead of running down them. The same “Average Joe”, who simply wants things to be easier in this life for his children and grandchildren, than he had it.

It is this same “Average Joe”, who takes family and friends in, when they are in the midst of a life-altering tragedy. The same “Average Joe”, who volunteers on a soup line or at a Senior Citizens Home, or, who begins a successful business in his basement.

Liberal Bureaucrats, like Secretary of State John Kerry and his boss, are professional political prevaricators. Men and women, whose ethics and morality change with the direction of the wind, and whose egos override their judgment…every time.

America is a Constitutional Republic. We are not ruled by a faceless all-powerful government. America’s politicians, including President Barack Hussein Obama, are OUR SERVANTS….not the other way around.

And, as their Boss, we expect them to possess a more complete knowledge of the history of the most exceptional nation on the face of God’s green Earth. We expect them to honor and respect the lives given and the sacrifices made by courageous Americans, who paved the way for you and the rest of this selfish generation, who are so desperately attempting to rewrite American History in order for it to be in accordance with the tenets of their Liberal Ideology.

America’s place in the world or her Traditional Values are not things so fragile that they can be unalterably changed by a lightweight like Barack Hussein Obama.

As author Dinesh D’ Souza wrote…

What does the doctrine of American exceptionalism empower the United States to do? Nothing more than to act better than traditional empires – committed to looting and conquest – have done. So that’s American exceptionalism: an exceptionalism based on noble ideas, ideas that it holds itself to even when it falls short of them.

In conclusion, it is not a single politician that decides America’s place in the world or the values which average Americans hold dear.

It is the fact of American Exceptionalism, seen in the lives of  average hard-working Americans, like you and me.

And, that is something that Obama and these rest of those who embrace his failed political ideology will never understand.

CNN Poll Backfires, “Dukes” Pulled From TV Land: “All This For a Flag”

Banning-Flags-600-LIAs the out-of-control Liberal War Against the South continues, CNN commissioned a poll on the Confederate Flag Controversy, which came back to bite them in the…well..you know.

CNN.com reports that

Washington (CNN)American public opinion on the Confederate flag remains about where it was 15 years ago, with most describing the flag as a symbol of Southern pride more than one of racism, according to a new CNN/ORC poll. And questions about how far to go to remove references to the Confederacy from public life prompt broad racial divides.

The poll shows that 57% of Americans see the flag more as a symbol of Southern pride than as a symbol of racism, about the same as in 2000 when 59% said they viewed it as a symbol of pride. Opinions of the flag are sharply divided by race, and among whites, views are split by education.

Among African-Americans, 72% see the Confederate flag as a symbol of racism, just 25% of whites agree. In the South, the racial divide is even broader. While 75% of Southern whites describe the flag as a symbol of pride and 18% call it a symbol of racism, those figures are almost exactly reversed among Southern African-Americans, with just 11% seeing it as a sign of pride and 75% viewing it as a symbol of racism.

Among whites, there’s a sharp divide by education, and those with more formal education are less apt to see the flag as a symbol of pride. Among whites with a college degree, 51% say it’s a symbol of pride, 41% one of racism. Among those whites who do not have a college degree, 73% say it’s a sign of Southern pride, 18% racism.

Efforts to remove the flag or other references to the Confederacy from public places have emerged in the weeks since nine African-American churchgoers were killed by a white man who said he was trying to start a race war in a Charleston church. But the poll shows the public is mixed on how far those efforts should go, and nearly all flag-related questions reveal broad racial divides.

A majority favors removing the Confederate flag from government property that isn’t part of a museum: 55% support that while 43% are opposed. And half support private companies choosing not to sell or manufacture items featuring the Confederate flag: 50% are in favor, 47% opposed.

But most oppose other efforts, including redesigning state flags that feature Confederate emblems or symbols to remove references to the Confederacy (57% oppose that), renaming streets and highways named after Confederate leaders (68% oppose that) and removing tributes to those who fought for the Confederacy from public places (71% oppose that).

That being said, why in the name of Uncle Jesse’s Chili, did TV Land pull one of the dumbest moves in the history of television?

And, I am not the only one asking that question…

“Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider is fuming that TV Land has pulled the plug on reruns of the humorous adventure show.

The actor, who played Bo Duke on the popular early ’80s series, expressed his anger over the show being drawn into the controversy over the Confederate flag, with a provocative tweet showing Charleston, S.C., shooting suspect Dylann Roof burning a U.S. flag while wearing a Gold’s Gym shirt.

“I am grossly offended by flag burning. But … is the Gold’s Gym logo to be considered a symbol of racism as well now?” Schneider tweeted Wednesday.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter later, the actor said he was “saddened that one angry and misguided individual can cause one of the most beloved television shows in the history of the medium to suddenly be seen in this light.

“The Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider has decried TV Land canceling reruns of the show.“I’m kidding of course, but has it really come to this?” he said. “Come on TV Land, can’t we all just watch TV?”

TV Land confirmed to the Daily News on Wednesday that “Hazzard” reruns had been pulled from the schedule.

While a reason was not given, the decision came amid a time of ongoing debate about the Confederate flag — which is painted on the roof of the Duke brothers’ iconic 1969 Dodge Charger named the General Lee.

“‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ was and is no more seated in racism than ‘Breaking Bad’ was a show seated in reality,” Schneider said about the program.

“Are people who grew up watching the show now suddenly racists?” he added. “Will they have to go through a detox and a 12-step program to kick their Dukes habit? ‘Hi … My name is John. I’m a Dukesoholic.’”

The 55-year-old actor also posted a YouTube video Wednesday in which he further shared his thoughts on the topic.

“The thing that you need to understand is that people have lost their lives,” he said.

“This is not about a television show. It’s not about a flag … it’s about the fact that people have lost their lives and that is what we should be thinking about.”

“Do I think taking ‘Dukes’ off TV Land is silly?” he continued. “Yeah, of course I do … I think it’s an error because ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ was one of the most beloved shows ever … and now it’s being cast in a terrible light that it does not deserve.”

“And I’m not talking about the flag,” Schneider noted. “I’m talking about ‘The Dukes of Hazzard.’”

The actor concluded the clip by asking viewers to spend time “praying for the families and loving one another.”

Jones, a former congressman, made headlines last week after declaring his support for the Confederate flag in a Facebook post.

The furor over the flag has led Warner Bros.’ consumer licensing division to cease manufacturing General Lee toys and models.

Several major retailers, including Walmart and Amazon, have also discontinued their sales of Confederate merchandise.

Before I continue, allow me to fill you in on something.

On the wall beside my computer desk, hangs my family crest, which I shipped to my Daddy (Southern Colloquialism for male parental unit) in the summer of 1978, from an insignia shoppe in England.

This same family crest also hangs in the home of Jefferson Davis, distinguished Graduate of West Point Academy, and the President of the Confederate States of America.

 I am a proud Southerner.

As a Christian American, I attend church on Sunday mornings with my brothers and sisters in Christ, both black and white.

American Progressives, both Democrat and Republican, have taken advantage of the horrible church massacre in Charleston, SC, to accomplish something that they have been trying to do for years: minimize the South’s political clout and erase our uniqueness as a region, through the taking away of a symbol of our heritage, and, any traces of the historical aspects of the Confederate Side of the Civil War, as exemplified by the current mission of Memphis Mayor AC Wharton and his minions on the City Council to dig up Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife, and move their bodies and a statue of the general, which all currently “reside” in a downtown park in the Medical Center.

The Alinsky-approved Tactics, currently being employed by Barack Obama and his Liberal minions on both sides of the aisle, are giving them, at best, a temporary victory, as shown by the results of CNN’s poll.

Why have they shown such disrespect for this integral part of American History?

Modern American Liberals have no respect for any of our nation’s symbols of our heritage.

Obama nods.

The thing about attempting to rewrite and ignore history, is the fact that Liberals have no power over it.

It has already happened.

And, they are powerless to change it.

…And, it frustrates the snot out of them.

Until He Comes,
