Draw Mohammed Contests, Freedom of Speech, and Liberal Hypocrisy

Islam cartoonEvery lesson in history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face—that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight and surrender. – A Time for Choosing, An Address by Ronald Reagan on behalf of Senator Barry Goldwater, Rendezvous with Destiny, October 27, 1964

CNN.com reported yesterday that

Protesters at Friday’s “Freedom of Speech” rally outside a Phoenix mosque were met by counterprotesters. The two groups lined both sides of the street in front of the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix and yelled at each other, with a line of police officers standing in the middle of the street to keep them separated, CNN affiliate KNXV reported.

Jon Ritzheimer, organizer of the rally, is a former Marine, and he has no middle ground when it comes to Islam.

His T-shirt pretty much says it all: “F— Islam.” Some of the counterprotesters wore shirts that said, “Love Thy Neighbor.”

The Islamic Community Center of Phoenix is the mosque that Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi attended for a time. They’re the men who drove from Arizona to a Dallas suburb to shoot up a Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest there. Both were killed by police early this month.

Many Muslims consider demeaning depictions of Mohammed to be blasphemous and banned by Islamic law.

…”This is in response to the recent attack in Texas where 2 armed terrorist(s), with ties to ISIS, attempted Jihad,” the event’s Facebook page said.

Some 600 people said they would attend.

Yesterday morning, while driving to work, as is my habit as an All-American Adult Male, I was channel-jockeying on Sirius XM between the 60s, 70s, 80s, Christian Contemporary, and Southern Gospel music channels, when I landed on the audio simulcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox and Friends”.

Since it was Friday, the 70-something year old topless selfie-taker himself (I apologize for the image), Geraldo Rivera (Jerry Rivers) was pontificating concerning how awful the ex-military guy was to hold a “Draw Mohammed” Contest in Phoenix. According to the Finder of Al Capone’s (empty) Vault (look it up, kids),

“We’re” better than that.

Really, O Mustached One?

In 1987, a wannabe “artist and full-time whackjob named Andres Serrano photographed a crucifix in a bottle of his own urine, and titled it “Piss Christ.” It caused a public uproar, first because of the insulting treatment of a the Son of God’s Atonement for OUR Sins, and second, it was revealed Serrano received a $15,000 prize, partly from the taxpayer-funded National Endowment of the Arts.

In 1999,  New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani cut funding to the Brooklyn Museum after it displayed a painting by another whackjob named Chris Ofili. The painting depicted the Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ surrounded by pornographic images and covered in elephant dung. A judge later reinstated the funding.

I spent a great deal of time this morning, using my mysterious powers of Google Fu, in a vain attempt to find any quotes from Geraldo, in which he protested these two blasphemous pieces of cr…err…”works of art”.

There were none.

I wasn’t surprised.

Like the overwhelming majority of Modern American Liberals, ol’ “Jerry Rivers” is very selective in his condemnation of “affronts to religion”.

If you are a Liberal or a Squishy Moderate (but, I repeat myself), who believes that the “Draw Mohammed” Events are an “affront” to Islam and should be prohibited, and yet, you have no problem with “Piss Christ” and “Elephant Dung Mary”, or any of the truly stupid and awful “memes” posted in blogs and on Facebook attacking Christianity, the faith of 74% of Americans…

YOU ARE A HYPOCRITE.

And, you don’t have a cotton-pickin’ clue.

The historic, documented truth is that Islam is a political ideology masquerading as a faith.

These figures are a rough estimate of the death of non-Muslims by the political act of jihad.

Africa
Thomas Sowell [Thomas Sowell, Race and Culture, BasicBooks, 1994, p. 188] estimates that 11 million slaves were shipped across the Atlantic and 14 million were sent to the Islamic nations of North Africa and the Middle East. For every slave captured many others died. Estimates of this collateral damage vary. The renowned missionary David Livingstone estimated that for every slave who reached a plantation, five others were killed in the initial raid or died of illness and privation on the forced march.[Woman’s Presbyterian Board of Missions, David Livingstone, p. 62, 1888] Those who were left behind were the very young, the weak, the sick and the old. These soon died since the main providers had been killed or enslaved. So, for 25 million slaves delivered to the market, we have an estimated death of about 120 million people. Islam ran the wholesale slave trade in Africa.
120 million Africans

Christians
The number of Christians martyred by Islam is 9 million [David B. Barrett, Todd M. Johnson, World Christian Trends AD 30-AD 2200, William Carey Library, 2001, p. 230, table 4-10] . A rough estimate by Raphael Moore in History of Asia Minor is that another 50 million died in wars by jihad. So counting the million African Christians killed in the 20th century we have:
60 million Christians

Now, I am not saying that every Muslim is on a jihad against “the infidels”.

However…

When Christians become “radicalized”, we want to share the testimony of what God has done for us through His love, with everyone we meet. We get involved in our local church and we become better fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, and American Citizens.

When Muslims become “radicalized”, they want to “kill the Infidels” in the name of “Allah the Merciful”.

In the case of the Chechen Muslim brothers who bombed the Boston Marathon, their immersion into Radical Islam led them to “kill the infidels” that horrendous day.

In the case of the barbarians of ISIS, it has turned them into doppelgängers of the Nazi Butchers of Dachau.

Islam and Christianity present two very different Deities, who may share some similarities, but who have different identities and ultimately different standards. To pretend they are the same is not only to be clueless of the faith of 74% (per gallup.com) of the citizens of this nation, but, to be ignorant of an integral part of our American Heritage, the legacy of Christian Faith, which our Founding Fathers bequeathed us.

For Liberals to deny that, is disingenuous at best, and just plain out-and-out lying at worst.

The Father of our Country, our First President, George Washington, once delivered the following mighty words to a fledgling nation:

You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ. These will make you a greater and happier people than you are.

While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian.

The blessing and protection of Heaven are at all times necessary but especially so in times of public distress and danger. The General hopes and trusts that every officer and man will endeavor to live and act as becomes a Christian soldier, defending the dearest rights and liberties of his country.

I now make it my earnest prayer that God would… most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of the mind which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion.

Please notice that the words, “ACCEPT CHRIST AS YOUR SAVIOR OR DIE” were nowhere in this transcript.

If organizations, such as CAIR, have the FREEDOM OF SPEECH to denounce America and hypocritical Liberals, such a Geraldo Rivera, have the right to denounce events such as the “Draw Mohammed” Contests, then don’t those Americans, who believe that Radical Islam, whose adherents have stated over and over again, that they want to kill each and every American, is Evil Incarnate, have the right to denounce this political ideology masquerading as a religion?

For those of you Liberals who still don’t get it, the answer is “YES”.

Until He Comes,

We’re All “Extremists” Now

AmericansAmerica is in a state of turmoil. Normal folks, like you and me, are living paycheck-to-paycheck, and those who are supposed to be our leaders, are doing their dead-level best to sow seeds of chaos, class envy, and racial strife.

The reason? Their personal lust for power and their adherence to the political teachings of Marx and Alinsky…and their desire to label as dangerous those who stand in the way of their plans.

Earlier this week, Judicial Watch got hold of training manuals from the U.S. Department of Defense, describing Conservative organizations as “hate groups” and advising students to be aware that “many extremists will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.

Judicial Watch obtained the documents in a response to a Freedom of Information Act request (FOIA) filed on April 8, 2013. The FOIA requested “Any and all records concerning, regarding, or related to the preparation and presentation of training materials on hate groups or hate crimes distributed or used by the Air Force.” Included in the 133 pages of lesson plans and PowerPoint slides provided by the Air Force is a January 2013 Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute “student guide” entitled “Extremism.” The document says that it is “for training purposes only” and “do not use on the job.” Highlights include:

  • The document defines extremists as “a person who advocates the use of force or violence; advocates supremacist causes based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or national origin; or otherwise engages to illegally deprive individuals or groups of their civil rights.”
  • A statement that “Nowadays, instead of dressing in sheets or publically espousing hate messages, many extremists will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.”
  • “[W]hile not all extremist groups are hate groups, all hate groups are extremist groups.”
  • Under a section labeled “Extremist Ideologies” the document states, “In U.S. history, there are many examples of extremist ideologies and movements. The colonists who sought to free themselves from British rule and the Confederate states who sought to secede from the Northern states are just two examples.”
  • In this same section, the document lists the 9/11 attack under a category of “Historical events.”
  • “[A]ctive participation…with regard to extremist organizations is incompatible with military service and, is therefore prohibited.” [Emphasis in original]
  • The document details the “seven stages of hate” and sixteen “extremists’ traits.”
  • The SPLC is listed as a resource for information on hate groups and referenced several times throughout the guide.
  • Of the five organizations besides the SPLC listed as resources, one is an SPLC project (Teaching Tolerance) and one considers any politically or socially conservative movement to be a potential hate group (Political Research Associates).
  • Other than a mention of 9/11 and the Sudan, there is no discussion of Islamic extremism.

By now,  if you are like me, you are asking yourself, “Who thinks this way?. Where did our government get this garbage from?”

These documents repeatedly list the Southern Poverty Law Center as their source. The SPLC is as Liberal as you can get.

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) was founded in 1971 by two young Alabama lawyers, 35-year-old Morris Dees and 28-year-old Joseph Levin, Jr. Kevin was the Center’s legal director from 1971-76, but it was Dees who would emerge as the star of the organization. Dees, is a committed leftist who believes America to be RAAACIIIST nation. Dees also brought civil-rights activist Julian Bond on board.

The SPLC tells everyone who will hear that it is a “nonprofit civil rights organization” committed to “fighting hate and bigotry” while “seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of society,”

These Liberals claim that America is “seething” with “racial violence” and “intolerance against those who are different.” According to the SPLC, “Hate in America is a dreadful, daily constant,” and violent crimes against members of minority groups like blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals, and Arabs/Muslims “are not isolated incidents,” but rather, “eruptions of a nation’s intolerance.”

Rgardless of the specifics of a given case, SPLC’s profits always are huge compared to what their clients receive. In 1987 Dees won a $7 million judgment Dees against the United Klans of America (UKA) on behalf of Beulah Mae Donald, whose son Michael had been killed by two Klansmen. The judgement netted $51,875 for Mrs. Donald. However, it was much more lucrative for SPLC, which raked in $9 million from subsequent fundraising solicitations built around Michael Donald’s murder, including one solicitation that featured a photo of the young man’s corpse. The case made so much money for the SPLC, that, as of 2010 the Center was still citing it in fundraising appeals.

Even though the SPLC has a history of making unfounded and exaggerated charges of racism and “hate,” the Main Stream Media consider the SPLC a bunch of”righteous crusaders”.

As we have seen during  President Barack Hussein Obama’s reign as the titular head of the Regime, he and his administration love to fan the flames of racism and civil unrest.

Just this week, the Obama Administration’s deafening silence over the cold-blooded inter-racial murders of Australian Collegian Christopher Lane and 88 year old World War II Veteran Delbert “Shorty” Belton, speaks volumes.

Obama ‘s favorite political strategy, as a former community organizer, is to sow racial animus, in order to show himself, as the SPLC does, as a “righteous crusader”,

Therefore, it is only natural that hid Department of Defense is using the fellow travelers at the SPLC as their experts on “Extremism”.

According to those yahoos, all average Americans are “Extremists”.

During President George Washington’s Farewell Address in 1796, he said,

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual, and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation on the ruins of public liberty.

Prophetic, huh?

The Obama Administration is seeking to impose their Marxist philosophy over us all.

In 1964, during his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention, Barry Goldwater said,

I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And, let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

Our Founding Fathers would have agreed with him.

According to Obama’s definition, they were all “Extremists”.

It is our duty and our responsibility as heirs to this Constitutional Republic which they bequeathed to us, to be no less.

Our Federal Government: Public Servants Serving Themselves?

Remember “Hope and Change”?  After 3 years of Obama, all we’ve gotten is “Mope and Blame”…and Americans seem to be fed up with the present occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and all of his minions on Capitol Hill.

Per Politico.com:

Today, just one in three has a favorable view of the federal government — the lowest level in 15 years, according to a Pew survey. The majority of Americans remain satisfied with their local and state governments — 61 percent and 52 percent, respectively — but only 33 percent feel likewise about the federal government.

In 2002, nearly double that figure, 64 percent viewed the federal government favorably, and Americans held their local and state governments in similar esteem, at 67 percent and 62 percent, respectively.

There’s the expected partisan gap: A majority of Democrats, 51 percent, view the Obama-led government favorably, compared with 27 percent of independents and 20 percent of Republicans. During the Bush presidency, a majority of Republicans viewed the federal government favorably, while support for it faded among Democrats.

The poll also reveals that more Americans trust their state governments to be honest, efficient and less partisan than the federal government.

The survey of 1,514 people was conducted Apr. 4-15, with a margin of error of 2.9 percentage points.

Of course, William Jefferson Clinton was president 15 years ago. You know, the womanizer whom Liberals remember so fondly…the guy Obama left to finish answering questions at a press conference…the smooth operator who crawled around the Oval Office rug with Monica Lewinsky.

In 1997, Clinton had a popularity rating of 57%, a result of the illusion of bi-partisanship between him and a Republican Congress.

Since then, thanks to out-of-touch public servants, Americans have grown to literally despise those whom they have elected to serve them in the nation’s capital.

This hatred has been brought on by incompetency and avarice.  These “public servants” seem to lose their minds when they arrive in Washington, D.C.  They decide that our money is their money, to freely spend as they wish, on causes both noble and ignoble.

Ronald Wilson Reagan spoke about these “public servants” during a memorable speech titled “A Time for Choosing” delivered during a broadcast in 1994 in support of the presidential campaign of Barry Goldwater:

…The Founding Fathers knew a government can’t control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. So we have come to a time for choosing.

Public servants say, always with the best of intentions, “What greater service we could render if only we had a little more money and a little more power.” But the truth is that outside of its legitimate function, government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector.

Yet any time you and I question the schemes of the do-gooders, we’re denounced as being opposed to their humanitarian goals. It seems impossible to legitimately debate their solutions with the assumption that all of us share the desire to help the less fortunate. They tell us we’re always “against,” never “for” anything.

We are for a provision that destitution should not follow unemployment by reason of old age, and to that end we have accepted Social Security as a step toward meeting the problem. However, we are against those entrusted with this program when they practice deception regarding its fiscal shortcomings, when they charge that any criticism of the program means that we want to end payments….

We are for aiding our allies by sharing our material blessings with nations which share our fundamental beliefs, but we are against doling out money government to government, creating bureaucracy, if not socialism, all over the world.

We need true tax reform that will at least make a start toward restoring for our children the American Dream that wealth is denied to no one, that each individual has the right to fly as high as his strength and ability will take him…. But we cannot have such reform while our tax policy is engineered by people who view the tax as a means of achieving changes in our social structure….

Have we the courage and the will to face up to the immorality and discrimination of the progressive tax, and demand a return to traditional proportionate taxation? . . . Today in our country the tax collector’s share is 37 cents of every dollar earned. Freedom has never been so fragile, so close to slipping from our grasp.

Are you willing to spend time studying the issues, making yourself aware, and then conveying that information to family and friends? Will you resist the temptation to get a government handout for your community? Realize that the doctor’s fight against socialized medicine is your fight. We can’t socialize the doctors without socializing the patients. Recognize that government invasion of public power is eventually an assault upon your own business. If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals from customers, clients, or even government, recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he’ll eat you last.

If all of this seems like a great deal of trouble, think what’s at stake. We are faced with the most evil enemy mankind has known in his long climb from the swamp to the stars. There can be no security anywhere in the free world if there is no fiscal and economic stability within the United States. Those who ask us to trade our freedom for the soup kitchen of the welfare state are architects of a policy of accommodation.

They say the world has become too complex for simple answers. They are wrong. There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right. Winston Churchill said that “the destiny of man is not measured by material computation. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we are spirits–not animals.” And he said, “There is something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty.”

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children’s children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done.

So now, after another 15 years of a federal government consumed by incompetency and avarice, we once again stand on that precipice which Reagan was talking about, looking into the abyss.

Will America fall into that endless chasm, or will we leap toward a brighter future?

The choice is up to us.
