The A&E “Un-Suspension” of Phil Robertson Announcement…With a Translation for Average Americans

PhilRobertsonCartoonPROLOGUE: As you have no doubt heard by now, late yesterday afternoon, the Arts and Entertainment Channel “un-suspended” the Patriarch of its hit show, “Duck Dynasty”,  “Duck Commander” Phil Robertson.

For those average Americans, like myself, who do not live in the land of Libs and Vichy Republicans (but, I repeat myself), known as the Northeast Corridor, or the East Coast, I, a lowly Christian American Conservative, located in Dixie, like the Robertsons, offer the following translation of A&E’s Press Release, announcing Commander Phil’s “return”.

As a global media content company, A+E Networks’ core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people’s homes, and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principles.

TRANSLATION: We had no freakin’ clue that all of you ignorant rednecks in Flyover Country knew how to write or send E-mails. Color us surprised. We thought that we were going to get away with suspending this “Christianist” Hick, who dared to stand up to us about that whole Praying thing that we told him to leave off the show. When we found this interview, which was actually done in 2010, we thought we had our opportunity to be rid of him.

That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phil’s comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the “coarse language” he used and the misinterpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would “never incite or encourage hate.” We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article and reiterate that they are not views we hold.

TRANSLATION: We realize that he was paraphrasing the Bible, citing 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11, but being the sheltered, snotty Liberals that we are, we had no idea that Christians would actually stand up for one of their own. We thought that all of you guys would simply turn the other cheek and let us do what we want. Of course, we fully intend to camouflage our own stupidity and intolerance of Christian American Conservatives, by continuing to refer to the Robertsons as “coarse”, while we curse at the top of our lungs in our everyday conversations in our corporate offices.

Of course, they are not the views we hold. Phil Robertson is a Christian Southern American self-made millionaire, who holds a Masters Degree from Louisiana Tech, who still says “Yes, Ma’am” and “No, Sir” and believes that a marriage is comprised of one man and one woman.

But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family … a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.

TRANSLATION: We recruited these yokels for this show, because we thought it was going to be the Reality Show-Version of “The Beverly Hillbillies”. Imagine our shock and disbelief when we figured out that America was laughing with the Robertsons and not at them. Then, imagine our incredulity when, after we suspended Commander Phil, the family told us that they would not do the show without him.

So, now we’re scrambling to save face, as you can see, by the fact that we are now claiming to approve of their praying, which we tried to take off the show. Hypocritical? You betcha.

So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.

TRANSLATION: After the ratings for our Christmas “Duck Dynasty” Marathon went into the porcelain receptacle, we had to do something. We had no choice. “Duck Dynasty” brings in millions of dollars to us.

After all, like every other Liberal in a position of power, our public self-righteousness always loses to our private unabashed avarice.

We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.

TRANSLATION: “Unity, tolerance and acceptance”, except for you meddling “Christianists”. Your standing strong for your Faith is the reason we couldn’t get rid of these “Backwoods Baptisers” and now, we’ve been exposed for the intolerant Liberals that we are. So, we are forced to hide that intolerance , by producing Liberal PSA’s.

EPILOGUE: I remember my Daddy (Southern colloquialism for the male parental unit) telling me that character is how you act when no one is watching.

A&E revealed their character, when they thought that no one was watching them.

Unfortunately for them, America was watching them…and we did not like what we saw.

And now, this convoluted “apology” will not do a doggone thing to “polish up” their now-tarnished image in the minds of average Americans.

So, they had better treat the Robertsons right. They are all that is keeping A&E from becoming just another Notheast Regional Cable Network…like MSNBC.

Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. Sees Cameras…Smells Money….and Gets Involved in the Duck Dynasty Dust-Up

I know…you’re shocked.

Reverend Jesse Jackson has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Duck Dynasty, comparing Phil Robertson to the driver who had ordered Rosa Parks to sit in the back of the bus.

The 67-year-old Robertson family patriarch and star of the mega-hit A&E reality show has unleashed a firestorm earlier this month after making anti-gay remarks in a interview with GQ.

In the wake of the scandal, A&E had suspended Robertson from the show and Cracker Barrel restaurants briefly pulled some of his merchandise from their country stores.

But less than 48 hours after that decision was made, the chain of restaurants was met with flurry of negative comments from customers and has since decided to restock Robertson’s products.

For Reverend Jackson and his Rainbow PUSH Coalition, as well as for the LGBT organization GLAAD, these attempts at damage control have been insufficient.

‘These statements uttered by Robertson are more offensive than the bus driver in Montgomery, Alabama, more than 59 years ago,’ Jackson said in a statement obtained by ABC News.

‘At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law.

‘Robertson’s statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was “white privilege.”’

In his statement, the 72-year-old civil rights leader demanded to meet within 72 hours with A&E executives and Cracker Barrel’s CEO to discuss the future of Duck Dynasty memorabilia.

Jackson also urged the network to uphold Robertson’s indefinite suspension from the popular program.

Rev’ruuund Jacksuuun (as Rush refers to him) made his name in the 1960’s as a “Civil Rights Advocate” who was often seen in the company of  Drs. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ralph Abernathy. However, as is always the case with ol’ Jesse, things weren’t quite what he made them out to be, as discoverthenetworks.org reports…

…Jesse Jackson Sr. clashed with Martin Luther King Jr. on a number of occasions during the Sixties, and he has often overstated the closeness of his relationship to King—even claiming to have been the last person King spoke to after he had been mortally wounded by an assassin’s bullet on April 4, 1968. Specifically, Jackson claimed that he was on the balcony with King immediately after the latter had been shot, and that he had cradled the dying civil-rights leader in his arms as he took his final breaths. But in fact, at the moment King was shot, Jackson was actually in a nearby parking lot talking to a group of musicians. [A fact also testified to by Dr. Abernathy on the Phil Donahue Show.] Kenneth Timmerman describes what happened next:

“When the shots rang out, he [Jackson] fled and hid behind the swimming pool area and reappeared 20-30 minutes later when the television cameras arrived on the scene. That’s when Jesse Jackson told other Southern Christian Leadership Conference staffers, ‘Don’t you talk to the press, whatever you do.’ … Nobody had given him that job. He took that job. Call it ‘entrepreneurial instinct’ if you wish, but on the spot he realized that he had an opportunity to spin the events to create his own persona and create a possibility for him to become a leader in the black movement. He had no prospects at that point.”

The next morning, Jackson flew to Chicago to make a guest appearance on the NBC Today Show. In the few hours that had passed between the King assassination and Jackson’s flight to the Windy City, Jackson had already hired a public-relations agent to accompany him as he was transported from interview to interview in a chauffeur-driven car. Before a national television audience on the Today Show, Jackson donned a shirt that he claimed was smeared with the dying Dr. King’s blood. “He died in my arms,” Jackson lied.

…SCLC [The Southern Christian Leadership Conference] appointed King’s close associate, Dr. Ralph Abernathy, to succeed the slain leader as head of the organization. This move angered Jackson, who had hoped to be the heir to King’s civil-rights mantle. Soon thereafter, a black Chicago Tribune reporter named Angela Parker discovered that, Jackson, in the aftermath of King’s assassination, had embezzled money from Operation Breadbasket. Parker went to Atlanta and presented the evidence to Abernathy, who publicly confronted Jackson with the charges. Abernathy suspended Jackson for sixty days beginning on December 6, 1971, and SCLC board chairman Joseph Lowery charged Jackson with “administrative improprieties and repeated acts of violation of organizational policies.”

As one half of the “Justice Brothers” [with Rev. Al Sharpton], Jackson has become a legend for being able to weasel his way in front of a camera, even if there is just a hint of some perceived racial intolerance…and, even if there is not any racial element to the newsworthy situation, Jackson will make one up.

In the case of the A&E Vs. Duck Dynasty Saga, Jackson’s cries will, hopefully, fall on deaf ears. As Cracker Barrel found out, to their chagrin, the overwhelming majority of average Americans support Phil Robertson, and stand by his right to speak his mind. Heck, even Joe Perry of the Legendary Rock Band, Aerosmith, came out yesterday in support of Commander Phil.

Jackson’s unwelcome intrusion, if it is entertained by the Liberal idiots at A&E, will only succeed in further alienating the cable channel from the American viewing audience, which has sent Duck Dynasty’s ratings through the roof, making A&E tons of money in the process.

I don’t believe that A&E will play the Rev’ruund’s well-practiced game of extortion.

Because, if there is one thing that always trumps Liberals’ hypocritical public self-righteousness, it’s their unabashed private avarice.

Duck Dynasty, Pajama Boy, and America’s Self-Righteous Liberal Elite: The New Pharisees

PhilandpajamaboyYesterday, America’s Cultural War, which the Liberals walking the Halls of Power in DC, have been insisting does not exist, burst forth in brilliant Technicolor and stark reality as the Arts & Entertainment Channel “indefinitely suspended” Commander Phil Robertson, the Patriarch of their biggest program, Duck Dynasty, a favorite of 14 million American viewers.

To say that something hit the rotary oscillator would be putting it mildly. Facebook literally exploded, with pages in support of Commander receiving hundreds of thousands of likes.

Radio and Television News Talk Shows led with the story, with Liberal Pundits feverishly trying to come up with ways to demean and insult Commander Phil, who dared to disagree with their Cult of Ambivalent Morality and Situational Ethics, standing up instead for his Christian Faith.

The Liberals appeared positively apoplectic because he paraphrased the Holy Bible, recalling scripture from 1 Corinthians 6: 9-10.

If A &E was pompous enough to believe that they could keep the rest of the Robertson Clan in line and under their thumb, after “suspending” Commander Phil, they received a reality check, as Thursday was drawing to a close.

Last night, the Robertson Family released the following statement:

We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. The family has spent much time in prayer since learning of A&E’s decision. We want you to know that first and foremost we are a family rooted in our faith in God and our belief that the Bible is His word. While some of Phil’s unfiltered comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage hate.We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his constitutionally protected right.We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for your continued support of our family.

A & E now faces a choice: realize that they jumped the shark and plead with the Robertsons to stay, or lose their highest-rated program because they were too pompous to think beyond their own narrow Liberal Belief System and recognize their over-estimation of their own piousness and intelligence.

For example…

By now, everyone in America has heard of “Pajama Boy”, an apparent 20-something Liberal wuss, clad in his pajama “onesies”, cradling what can only be a cup of Hot Cocoa his Mommy made for him, in an ad, created by Organizing For America, designed to convince the young and dumb to purchase overpriced Health Insurance through the Obamacare Exchanges.

Well, we found out yesterday that this metrosexual is named Ethan Krupp, and, of course, he is a member of Obama’s Propaganda Arm, the before-mentioned Organizing For America.

The Ad, which the Liberal Brain Trust thought was so “cool” and “with it” has turned out to be a laughingstock…water cooler fodder…and the object of unprecedented Twitter ridicule, by the same target audience Obama and his supporters were trying to reach.

During his program yesterday, Rush Limbaugh made the following observation, regarding “Pajama Boy” and Liberal thought processes in general. What he said, applies to the Duck Dynasty Story as well:

This ad, the Julia cartoon ad, and the Pajama Boy ad, you have to understand, that is who the Regime is. This administration is filled with guys who used to be Pajama Boy. They think they are America. Snerdley, not one of them has worked in the private sector, not one of them. They’re all academicians, theorists, professors. They’re all people that congregated at the academy. They sit around and theorize, and they’re filled with resentment for everybody that actually does something.

They’re smarter than everybody else. If only they had a chance to run it, they would show everybody. They could do health care better than the people doing it. They can run the car companies better than the people doing it, run energy better than the people in the oil business. They could run drugs better. They could do everything better! They’re smarter than everybody, but nobody would ever hire ’em ’cause they’ve never done anything.

So they congregate in universities and the faculty lounge and they end up getting to know each other, and they have all these networks where they congregate and become like-minded people. I guarantee you they run that ad, and they think they are mass marketing. They are arrogant enough to believe that they are America. I mean, there should be no question about it. When somebody in the media goes to Texas or anywhere in flyover country, they look out of place. They don’t understand.

By now, you are probably wondering why I would call America’s Liberal Elite “Pharisees”. 

Any American who attended Sunday School or Vacation Bible School as a child, knows who the Pharisees were. During the days when Jesus Christ walked the Earth as one of us, the Pharisees, a party of self-proclaimed, pious “religious leaders”, showed themselves to be bitter and persistent enemies of Christ. They could not bear his doctrines, and they sought by every means to destroy his influence among the people.

Their belief in themselves as “the smartest people in the room” and the belief in their own infallible righteousness, blinded them to the Son of God’s message of Perfect Peace and Unconditional Love through personal repentance of sin  and individual salvation, received through the Grace of God.

Duck Dynasty, A & E, and Liberal Hypocrisy

duck dynastyThe Leader of the hottest Reality Show in America, a self-made millionaire, has been, at least temporarily, taken off of the show he helped build into a ratings Dynamo. His crime?He identified homosexuality as a sin.

The Hollywood Reporter has the story:

A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ.

“We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty,” A&E said in a statement. “His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

The news comes after Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality in an interview with the magazine. He’ll likely appear in season four, which bows Jan. 15, since production is largely wrapped.

“It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” Robertson says in the January issue of the men’s magazine. “That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

During a discussion about repentance and God, Robertson is asked what he finds sinful.

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there,” he says. “Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.”

He goes on to paraphrase Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

GLAAD on Wednesday condemned his remarks as “some of the vilest and most extreme statements uttered against LGBT people in a mainstream publication” and said “his quote was littered with outdated stereotypes and blatant misinformation.”

“Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe,” GLAAD spokesperson Wilson Cruz said. “He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans — and Americans — who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples. Phil’s decision to push vile and extreme stereotypes is a stain on A&E and his sponsors, who now need to re-examine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families.”

Let’s examine exactly what Commander Phil said. He called homosexuality a sin…because it is.

Concerning the quote from the Bible that Commander Phil was paraphrasing, it reads the following way, in the original King James Version:

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. – 1 Corinthians 6: 9 – 10

He spoke his mind…based on the tenets of his faith.

Of course, Commander Phil’s remarks offended the always politically-correct Liberals, otherwise known as the Gay Mafia, who went whining like a bunch of little wussies to the Arts & Entertainment Channel, who then immediately decided that having Commander Phil continue to appear on his own show, would cause them to lose whatever Liberal viewers are watching “Duck Dynasty”, who are probably watching the program just to make fun of us “Inbred Southerners”.

A&E had approached Commander Phil before, concerned that the Robertsons’ Christianity, and their active Prayer Life would “offend” viewers.

They were looking for an excuse.

Evidently, these arbitrators of what is offensive to Americans have never watched “Blue Bloods”, the excellent, high-rated drama starring Conservative Tom Selleck as the New York City Police Commissioner, whose dad is a retired Police Commissioner, and whose two sons are cops and his daughter, an Assistant District Attorney. On every show, the family, including the grandchildren, gather after Mass on Sunday afternoon, for a family dinner, where, before they eat, the pray, or, as we refer to it in the Real World, here in America’s Heartland, they ” Say Grace”.

I am positive that the Liberal idiots at CBS continue to raise you-know-what about that, also.

On a related subject, it knocked me off the couch Tuesday night, when the characters said “Merry Christmas” several times during “NCIS” and “NCIS:LA”. CBS did not allow them to do that last year. They could only say “Happy Holidays”.

But, I digress…

It amazes me how completely over-run by the Liberal mantra of ambivalent morality and situational ethics the “Blue Areas” (the NE Corridor and the Left Coast) of our nation have become.

Their thought processes (and, I’m being kind) are polar opposites to those of Americans here in the Heartland, or, as they have always pompously referred to us, “Flyover Country”.

The reason Commander Phil and his family have been so overwhelmingly popular with Americans, is because they are self-made millionaires, who act like normal, everyday, Working Class Americans.

As I mentioned earlier, Liberals look down on them. I believe that A&E launched the show with the idea of the Robertsons being a “sideshow” for “the smartest people in the room” to point and laugh at.

It turned out that the joke was on them, because…

1. The Robinsons became loved, and laughed with, not at.

2. They, in fact, turned out to be “the smartest people in the room”

Oh yeah, about this “homophobia” you accuse me and other Christian American Conservatives of having…

1. We love the sinner. We hate the sin.

2. Tell that to the Liberal who described me as a “B@ll S#cking  Tea Bagger” in response to my posting of yesterday’s Blog on Ted Cruz’s Facebook Page.

A & E, like the rest of America’s Liberals, who ignore their own hypocrisy, should remember the old maxim concerning glass houses.

As demonstrated by the implosion of their fallen messiah’s Presidency, their “house” is already beginning to crumble around them.

And, this, too, shall pass…
