Obama’s Kamikaze Presidency Part 2: Foreign Policy

Before Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) ascended to the throne of The Regime, he did something no other candidate for American President has ever done.  He campaigned in Europe, where he was treated like a rock star, by both the Europeans and the sycophantic Main Stream Media.  This set the stage for Obama’s Foreign Policy efforts as President.

There have been so many issues that have weakened America on the world stage as Obama has pursued his Foreign Policy, it’s hard to know where to begin.  Come along as I try to relate a few high (low?) points.

1.  The World Apology Tour – Shortly after he took office, President Obama set off for the first of a two-part “World Apology Tour”.   After less than 100 days, he had apologized on three continents for what he viewed as the sins of America and previous presidents.

Per Karl Rove:

Mr. Obama told the French (the French!) that America “has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive” toward Europe.  In Prague, he said America has “a moral responsibility to act” on arms control because only the U.S. had “used a nuclear weapon.” In London, he said that decisions about the world financial system were no longer made by “just Roosevelt and Churchill sitting in a room with a brandy” — as if that were a bad thing. And in Latin America, he said the U.S. had not “pursued and sustained engagement with our neighbors” because we “failed to see that our own progress is tied directly to progress throughout the Americas.”

By apologizing to the world, White House Press Secretary Robert “Baghdad Bob” Gibbs said that Scooter had “changed the image of America around the world” and made the U.S. “safer and stronger.”

Having the British call him “President Pantywaist” has made us “safer and stronger”?

2.  Global War on Terror –  In a memo e-mailed the week of March 25th, 2009, in the middle of the World Apology Tour, to Pentagon staff members, the Defense Department’s office of security review proclaimed that “this administration prefers to avoid using the term ‘Long War’ or ‘Global War on Terror’ [GWOT.] Please use ‘Overseas Contingency Operation.’ ”  And so it began.

On Thursday, June 4th, 2009 at the University of Cairo, Obama addressed the Muslim World.  Here is an excerpt from the 6:35 a.m. speech:

Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance. We see it in the history of Andalusia and Cordoba during the Inquisition. I saw it firsthand as a child in Indonesia, where devout Christians worshiped freely in an overwhelmingly Muslim country. That is the spirit we need today. People in every country should be free to choose and live their faith-based lives upon the persuasion of the mind, heart, and soul. This tolerance is essential for religion to thrive, but it is being challenged in many different ways.

Among some Muslims, there is a disturbing tendency to measure one’s own faith by the rejection of another’s. The richness of religious diversity must be upheld – whether it is for Maronites in Lebanon or the Copts in Egypt. And fault lines must be closed among Muslims as well, as the divisions between Sunni and Shia have led to tragic violence, particularly in Iraq.

Freedom of religion is central to the ability of peoples to live together. We must always examine the ways in which we protect it. For instance, in the United States, rules on charitable giving have made it harder for Muslims to fulfill their religious obligation. That is why I am committed to working with American Muslims to ensure that they can fulfill zakat.

Likewise, it is important for Western countries to avoid impeding Muslim citizens from practicing religion as they see fit – for instance, by dictating what clothes a Muslim woman should wear. We cannot disguise hostility towards any religion behind the pretence of liberalism.

Scooter believed that by reaching out to the Muslim world through changing and softening our terminology as it pertained to the Jihad declared against the United States by Muslim Extremists, his administration would make huge inroads in America’s relationship with the Islamic World.  So far, it has done nothing but encourage our enemies, as evidenced by the increasing number of attacks by Muslim Extremists here in our country.

3.  Smart Power! – At her confirmation hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary of State nominee Hillary Clinton said:

We must use what has been called smart power, the full range of tools at our disposal—diplomatic, economic, military, political, legal, and cultural—picking the right tool, or combination of tools, for each situation. With smart power, diplomacy will be the vanguard of our foreign policy. This is not a radical idea. The ancient Roman poet Terence declared that “in every endeavor, the seemly course for wise men is to try persuasion first.” The same truth binds wise women as well.

Excessive humility has never been one of Hil’s problems.

4.  Afghanistan and Iraq – When Obama took office, he announced that Afghanistan was the true center of extremist activities.  He then told us that the Overseas Contingency Operation would be making a hard pivot from the main focus being on Iran to the main focus being on Afghanistan.  From there, he decided that the mountainous country of Pakistan (pronounced by the president, Pock-ee-stahn) was where all the truly evil Extremists were hiding.  He had two problems with this strategy:  the mountainous geography and unfriendly government of  Pock-ee-stahn.  Obama was advised by his military advisors that the best strategy was to use unmanned drones to attack Taliban (pronounced Tawl-ee-bohn by Obama) strongholds.  While the drones have been very successful in killing members of the Tawl-ee-bohn, they have occasionally killed civilians as well.   That has not endeared us to that country’s government.

Gen.  Stanley A. McChrystal has been the Commander of American Forces and the NATO International Security Force in Afghanistan since June, 2009.  On Tuesday, he  was summoned to Washington for a face-to-face meeting with the president today, a meeting where he’ll have to explain why he and his aides made scathing remarks  about Vice President Joe Biden, special envoy Richard Holbrooke, ambassador Karl Eikenberry and others in the presence of a reporter for Rolling Stone.   Rolling Stone?  Why Rolling Stone, one of the premier Liberal magazines, for gosh sakes?

Per Toby Harnden at telegraph.co.uk, General Stanley McChrystal has tendered his resignation to President Barack Obama and the White House is actively discussing a replacement who could be quickly confirmed by the Senate.  Of course, offering to resign is not the same as actually resigning and it remains to be seen whether Obama will accept the resignation.  Especially since our Armed Forces are about to begin a major offensive in Afghanistan.

Obama’s Foreign Policy Agenda seems to follow a similar path to his Domestic Agenda.  This administration appears to be re-active instead of pro-active.  Smart Power! appears to be a euphemism for Crisis Management.  That is a management style in which those in power procrastinate until a deadline or crisis, and then react in a frenzy, barking orders that are not easily questioned because of the immediacy of the deadline or crisis.  In between  deadlines and crises, those practicing this management style float along like the feather at the end of Forrest Gump.

Of course, the other possibility is that Obama is intentionally bringing the greatest country on Earth to its’ knees, in order to form a Marxist-style government, controlling its’ populace from cradle to grave.

But, that’s just me being paranoid, isn’t it?  Isn’t it?

Obama’s Kamikaze Presidency Part 1: Domestic Policy

Kamikaze:  adjective: having or showing reckless disregard for safety or personal welfare

President Barack Hussein Obama  (mm mmm mmmm) told ABC’s “World News” anchor Diane Sawyer in an exclusive interview on January 25, 2010:

I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president.

At the time, we did not know that “really good” was based on his own definition of that term.  Over the next two days, I will outline Obama’s polices and the effect they are having on America.  I believe one could compare his actions to that of a Kamikaze pilot in World War II’s Pacific Theater of Operations.

1.  The Stimulus Package – One of Obama’s first acts as president was to push through a 787 billion dollar Stimulus Package, designed to create jobs and get the economy moving again.  Almost a year and a half later, we have found out that the total cost is 862 billion dollars, 75 billion more than expected.  Americans have also found out that it is a miserable failure.  Here is a breakdown by the numbers, courtesy of gop.com:

3.5 MILLION: Jobs Obama Promised Stimulus Would Create By End Of 2010.

3.3 MILLION: Jobs Lost Since Obama Made That Promise.

6.8 MILLION: Jobs Obama Must Now Create To Keep Promise By End Of 2010.

1.1 MILLION: Jobs Obama’s Economists Project Will Be Created By End Of 2010.

5.7 MILLION: Jobs By Which Obama’s Economists’ Projection Leaves Him Short In Keeping Promise.

6 PERCENT: Not Surprisingly, Number Of Americans That Say Obama’s Stimulus Created Jobs.

7.7 PERCENT: Unemployment Rate When Obama Was Selling Stimulus In January 2009.

8 PERCENT: Unemployment Rate Obama Pledged Stimulus Would Prevent Us From Reaching.

9.7 PERCENT: Current Unemployment Rate.

16.5 PERCENT: Current Unemployment Rate When Underemployed And Discouraged Workers Are Included.

334,000: Americans That Have Given Up Looking For A Job Since Stimulus Was Signed.

47: States That Have Lost Jobs Since Stimulus Was Signed.

10: States That Moved From Single-Digit To Double-Digit Unemployment Rate Since Stimulus Was Signed.

$862 BILLION: Updated Cost Of Stimulus, $75 Billion Increase From Last Year’s Cost Estimate.

440: Number Of Nonexistent Congressional Districts That Received Stimulus Funds.

$6.4 BILLION: Amount Of Stimulus Funds That Went To Nonexistent Congressional Districts.

$18 MILLION: Cost Of Stimulus Website, Recovery.gov.
2.  Obamacare –  In  their latest analysis of ObamaCare, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has concluded that ObamaCare will cost at least $115 billion more than it originally estimated.    This brings the total cost to over 1 trillion dollars, not less than 1 trillion, as was promised by Obama and the administration before the bill was passed.

3.  Repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell – During his State of the Union Address, Scooter announced that he was going to push for the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, allowing homosexuals in our Armed Forces to publically proclaim their sexuality, no matter what that would do to the morale of our armed forces.  A repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell has been included in the defense authorization bill on both the House and Senate sides. The bill must now go through conference committee.

While Obama still supports repeal, he has also threatened to veto a bill that includes funding for the the C-17 cargo plane or an alternative engine for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter which the defense subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee has talked about including in the proposed legislation.

In a related issue, the Labor Department will issue regulations this week ordering businesses to give gay employees equal treatment under The Family and Medical Leave Act.

Labor Secretary Hilda Solis will announce Wednesday that the government would require employers to extend the option that has been available to heterosexual workers for almost two decades, two officials briefed on the plan revealed Monday.

The Family and Medical Leave Act allows workers to take up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave each year to take care of loved ones or themselves. The 1993 law, which also allows employees to take time off for adoptions, has previously only been applied to heterosexual couples.

Obama will sign an Executive Order authorizing this action,  which means future presidents could reverse the decision.

4.  Illegal Immigration – The problem of illegal immigration is a contentious issue normally, but Obama has done nothing to calm the issue.  Arizona Republican Jon Kyl blew this topic wide open on Friday.  He told supporters in Phoenix that during a private meeting on immigration, President Obama said he’s “holding it hostage” — “it” being border security — in exchange for comprehensive reform.  The White House is denying this.

White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer told The Daily Caller:

The president didn’t say that and Senator Kyl knows it.  There are more resources dedicated toward border security today than ever before, but, as the president has made clear, truly securing the border will require a comprehensive solution to our broken immigration system.

Andrew Wilder, Communications Director for Kyl told The Daily Caller:

There were two people in that meeting and Dan Pfeiffer was not one of them. Senator Kyl stands by his remarks. The White House spokesman’s pushback that you must have comprehensive immigration reform to secure the border only confirms Kyl’s account.

If I had to decide the veracity of the two accounts, I would believe Senator Kyl’s.

News broke Friday morning that the Department of Justice will  sue the state of Arizona over its new immigration law, at the bequest of President Obama.

It is Obama’s opinion that SB1070 will lead to racial profiling.   He asked Holder to review it in order to placate his base and procure millions of new Hispanic Democratic Party voters.  The president announced the DOJ’s initial investigation as part of his response to the bill, during a joint appearance with Mexican President Felipe Calderon, who denounced SB1070 in no uncertain terms at the White House.
I wish to remind you that Arizona’s law continues to enjoy broad public support–a little fact that gets overlooked amid the Liberal angst and cries of racial discrimination that have been raised since Gov. Jan Brewer signed it in April.

5.  The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill – The Deepwater Horizon oil spill (also known as the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill or the BP Oil Spill) is a large ongoing oil spill started by an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon offshore oil platform about 50 miles southeast of the Mississippi River delta on April 20, 2010 (28.74°N, 88.39°W). The explosion killed 11 platform workers.   The Deepwater Horizon sank in about 5,000 feet (1,500 m) of water on April 22, 2010.

Scooter’s response to this disaster has been feckless at best.  On Thursday, April 29th, Obama sent Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson to help coordinate the federal response to the potential environmental disaster.  7 rounds of golf and 4 Photo-op trips to the Gulf later, Obama and the nation are still watching as oil continues to flow freely from the exploded well.  This disaster may not be over until August, according to British Petroleum, when a relief well will be operational.

Obama’s benefactor, Socialist billionaire George Soros is going to make out like a bandit.  This information is from my post Obama’s Kayfabe part 2:  Obeying the Puppetmaster:

Soros just happens to be invested in offshore oil drilling in Brazil, assisted by the American taxpayers.

Newsmax:

The Wall Street Journal reports: ‘The United States, through the U.S. Export-Import Bank, has issued a ‘preliminary commitment’ of $2 billion and more if needed’ to Petroleo Brasileiro SA, a Brazilian government-owned oil exploration and development corporation known as ‘Petrobras.’

Soros Fund Management, LLC has a stake in Petrobras worth approximately $900 million as of December 31, 2009.

George Soros’ principal investments are in oil; one in particular is Petrobras, the Brazilian-owned company. This happens to be the largest investment in the Soros portfolio at the present time.

Now that word is out that the facilities of the U.S. Export-Import Bank SA is offering guarantees for loans to Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras, U.S. citizens are beginning to complain.

Soros also holds quite a lot of real estate in Brazil.  Soros’ Adecoagro, which invests in renewable energy,  owns or leases about 840,000 acres of farmland in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay growing coffee, soybeans and other commodities.  Royal Dutch Shell Plc and Bunge Ltd. Are also expanding into ethanol in Brazil.

Obama’s amateurish handling of this horrendous disaster, is either unintentional stupidity or intentional treason.

Tomorrow, we’ll discuss President Barack Hussein Obama’s (Peace be upon him) Foreign Policy.   It’s just as convoluted as his Domestic Policy.  Stay tuned.

Baseball, Golf, and Other Political Games

On Friday night, President Barack Hussein Obama (Peace be upon him) went to the Washington Nationals game.  He wore a cap with the logo of  his hometown Chicago White Sox in support of the team.   According to sources, Obama sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” and left in the ninth inning, before the White Sox edged out the Nationals 2-1 in the 11th.

Scooter had a busy day Saturday, also.    American President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) was playing golf with Vice President Joe Biden.

The White House press pool reported that Obama left at about 1 p.m. for the course at Andrews Air Force base.  His golfing partners also included White House Trip Director Marvin Nicholson and David Katz, the energy efficiency campaign manager at the Department of Energy.

Obama stopped playing golf shortly before 6 p.m.

Nicholson and Katz, along with Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, enjoyed four hours of golf with Obama just last weekend.

This was Obama’s 7th round of golf since the April 20th explosion in the Gulf of Mexico.

Americans did not hear much about it, except on Fox News, starting late Saturday afternoon.

However, all day long on Saturday, every cable news channel was telling the story over and over again about BP’s CEO Tony Hayward attending a glitzy yacht race in England.

Per Robert Wine, a BP spokesman at the company’s Houston headquarters, it’s the first break Hayward has had since the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion on April 20th, which killed 11 workers and set off the undersea gusher that is still spilling oil into the gulf.

According to Wine:

He’s spending a few hours with his family at a weekend.  I’m sure that everyone would understand that.

Rahm “Rahmbo” Emanuel, President Obama’s chief of staff, said that Hayward’s decision to go to the yacht race was “a public relations fiasco”.  Rahmbo told ABC’s “This Week,” that Hayward had “got his life back.”, a reference to a PR blunder of a statement that Hayward made a ahort while back.

Emmanuel also said:

I think we can all conclude that Tony Hayward is not going to have a second career in PR consulting.

And going to baseball games and playing golf 7 times since the Gulf Oil Disaster started is a brilliant PR strategy?

News broke Sunday that Rahm Emmanuel is expected to leave his job later this year because he has grown tired of the “idealism” of  Obama’s inner circle.

The so-called “insiders” in DC say he will quit within six to eight months because he’s frustrated that Scooter’s team of professional academics won’t get “down and dirty” in order to get Obama’s agenda pushed through.

Rahmbo, 50, has a good working relationship with Scooter, but they have supposedly reached an “understanding” that their differences over style will lead to Emmanuel serving only half the full four-year term.

Rahmbo’s friends say he is also concerned about job burnout and becoming out of touch with his young family due to holding one of most high-profile jobs in US politics.

A leading Democratic consultant in Washington offers:

I would bet he will go after the midterms.  Nobody thinks it’s working but they can’t get rid of him – that would look awful. He needs the right sort of job to go to but the consensus is he’ll go.

An official from the Bill Clinton era proclaimed that “no one will be surprised” if Rahmbo left after the midterm elections in November.  Yeah. Especially if the Democrats lose their majorities in the House and Senate.

It is all over DC that arguments have developed between rough-and-tumble Rahmbo Emanuel, who was known in Congress for driving through compromises, and the idealistic inner circle (i.e., clueless academics) who followed Scooter to the White House.

His take-no-prisoners style has gotten on the nerves of some people.  And Obama’s closest advisers feel that he has not lived up to expectations in his role as the driver of the president’s legislative agenda.

A consultant, who wished to remain anonymous, said:

It might not be his fault, but the perception is there.  Every vote has been tough, from health care to energy to financial reform.

Democrats have not stood behind the president in the way Republicans did for George W Bush, and that was meant to be Rahm’s job.

Scooter and Rahmbo had a major spat over Obamacare, with Emanuel arguing that the administration should have produced a scaled down package, due to the public’s outcry about cost.  Obama and his advisers including David Axelrod, the chief strategist, and Valerie Jarrett, a businesswoman and mentor from Chicago, ignored him and pushed through the debacle known as Obamacare.

Emanuel has reportedly told friends that, because of its intensity,  his role as White House chief of staff was “only an eighteen month job” .

Rahm Emmanuel’s position is regarded as the most demanding after that of being the president.  It consists of driving the president’s agenda, keeping everyone in the administration on message, and being a liaison to Congress.

If Rahmbo jumps overboard from this sinking ship of state, his departure will be seen as proof that Obama’s presidency has been far more of a poorly written soap opera than his admirers thought it would be.

Rahmbo has privately said that he wants to run for mayor of  Chicago. The Windy City is also his home town, even though he was never part of the Obama “posse” and did not even endorse Barack Obama in the Democratic primary in 2008.

That could only happen if Mayor Richard Daley stepped down when he is up for re-election in 2011.

Rahmbo’s biggest concern when he originally took his present job was over moving his three children from Chicago.  According to another former Clinton official, he told his friends that he is “very sensitive to the idea that he is not a good father for having done this”.

Rahmbo is the son of Jewish immigrants and was an accomplished ballet dancer at school. He served in the Israeli Defense Force (and we know how much this administration just adores Israel, don’t we?) in the 1991 Gulf War.

Rahm Emmanuel’s tough guy political style seems to have made him a liability in the pseudo-intellectual Ivy League Political Academic Palace of the Regime.  The Capitol Hill Gymnasium shower room will never be the same.

The FCC, The Internet, and Our Freedom of Speech

This past Thursday the Federal Communications Commission made a big move towards adopting new regulations for the broadband industry.   Internet for everybody!   The reaction to this move will probably be the launch of one of the most expensive lobbying campaigns ever to hit Capitol Hill by major telecommunications and cable providers.

Democrats at the FCC, in a 3-2 vote along party lines, decided that they would start formal consideration to adopt new rules for high- speed internet companies such as AT&T and Comcast.  Until now, these companies have done business practically free of oversight from the FCC.  In political technical terms, the Democrat majority in the FCC passed a motion to “open for comment” new broadband rules.  This is the first step to passing the rules.

This move puts the White House in opposition to the Democrats in Congress, a lot of whom support AT&T, Verizon and others and are against the FCC’s plan. This will also be a test of the lobbying machine of Google and other Liberal technology groups.  These groups are gung-ho for greater regulation of broadband companies.  However, they have less experience in Washington than the communications industry.

FCC chairman Julius Genachowski had previously announced that the FCC only wanted limited enhancement to its regulatory powers.  But the legal change Mr Genachowski is going after, changing the classification of broadband providers from Title I information services to Title II telecommunications services, would legally give the FCC far greater authority to enforce rate changes and unbundling.

Obama’s minions in the FCC face a bunch of Lobbyists from the communications industry who have a whole lot of friends on Capitol Hill.

Thursday, ATT spoke out against the FCC proposal, saying it created “investment uncertainty at a time when certainty is most needed” and could cost jobs.  They also said it was all for handing the issue to Congress, a prospect “far less risky to jobs and investment than the FCC’s current path”.

The Democratic chairman of the Senate commerce committee, which oversees the FCC, Senator Jay Rockefeller, said he supported the FCC, but added:

In the short-term, this is the right course and the right thing to do. In the long-term, I believe we need to develop consensus to update the law, further safeguard consumers, and spur universal broadband deployment.

In a related issue, the nation’s homeland security chief said Friday that fighting homegrown terrorism by monitoring Internet communications is a civil liberties trade-off the U.S. government must make to beef up national security.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet “Big Sis” Napolitano said:

As terrorists increasingly recruit U.S. citizens, the government needs to constantly balance Americans’ civil rights and privacy with the need to keep people safe.   Uh Huh.

But, according to Liberals, finding that “balance” has become more complex since homegrown terrorists have used the Internet to reach out to extremists abroad for inspiration and training.  Contacts over the Internet are being blamed for a recent upswing in U.S.-based terror plots and incidents.   Gosh, could it just  be that we have President Pantywaist in office?

Napolitano told a gathering of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy:

The First Amendment protects radical opinions, but we need the legal tools to do things like monitor the recruitment of terrorists via the Internet.

Napolitano and the rest of the administration are trying to assure its Far Left Moonbat Base that this effort to monitor the Internet will not lead to the government confiscation of American rights.   If you believe this, Libs, there’s a well in the Gulf of Mexico I want to sell you.

Here comments seem to back up concerns over all the recent terror attacks over the past year, under Obama’s watch, where legal U.S. residents such as Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad and Fort Hood, Texas, shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan, are believed to have been, at least partially, inspired by the Internet postings of violent Islamic extremists.

However, the fact that these are U.S. citizens or legal residents raises many legal and constitutional questions.

“Big Sis” proclaimed that it is wrong to believe that if security is embraced, liberty is sacrificed.

We can significantly advance security without having a deleterious impact on individual rights in most instances. At the same time, there are situations where trade-offs are inevitable.

She cited the struggle to use full-body scanners at airports caused worries that they would invade people’s privacy as an example.

The scanners we put in place after explosives were successfully brought on board the Detroit-bound airliner on Christmas Day by Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.  Luckily, his underwear-hidden bomb failed to detonate.

Napolitano said that the government has worked to put in place a number of restrictions on the scanners’ use in order to minimize that. The scans cannot be saved or stored on the machines, and Transportation Security Agency workers can’t have phones or cameras that could capture the scan when near the machine.

If it was anybody other than this administration attempting this, I would probably feel better.  This administration is getting desperate in their bid to turn the Internet into a public utility.  By doing so, they can monitor it, in a style reminiscent of Hugo Chavez.  They will put their “boot on the throat” of Conservative websites, while allowing Liberal propagandist websites, like Media Matters and Huffington Post, just 2 of the 597 Liberal websites that George Soros funds, to spread their lies and propaganda unopposed.  For extensive information about all these websites, please visit discoverthenetworks.org.

The United States Bill of Rights, introduced by James Madison in 1789 as a series of constitutional amendments, came into effect on December 15, 1791. Its First Amendment states:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Make no mistake about it, if this administration is successful in their quest to turn the Internet into a public utility, it will cease to be a forum for Free Speech, and become nothing by a propaganda tool.

Chavez will whole-heartedly approve.

AWOL Afghans Assimilated into America?

17 members of the Afghan military have gone AWOL from an Air Force base in Texas where foreign military officers who are training to become pilots are taught English.   A nationwide alert has been issued.

Besides the fact that these Afghanis are AWOL, there another little problem. Both the officers and enlisted men have security badges that give them access to secure U.S. defense installations.  This information comes from the lookout bulletin, “Afghan Military Deserters in CONUS [Continental U.S.],” written by Naval Criminal Investigative Service in Dallas.  FoxNews.com was able to obtain a copy of the bulletin.

The BOLO (Be on the Lookout For Bulletin.) was distributed to local and federal law enforcement officials on Wednesday night.

The missing Afghans were enrolled in the Defense Language Institute at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.  This program (DLI) teaches English to military pilot candidates and other air force prospects from our foreign allies.

Per Gary Emery, Chief of Public Affairs, 37th Training Wing, at Lackland AFB:

I can confirm that 17 have gone missing from the Defense Language Institute.   They disappeared over the course of the last two years, (Two years?  And we’re just now hearing about them?) and none in the last three months.

First Lt. Javed Aryan, who went AWOL in January 2010,was the most recent to disappear from Lackland Air Force Base.   The others found in the NCIS report disappeared at various times last year.

A Department of Defense Common Access Card was given to each of the Afghans.  It is an identification card used to gain access to secure military installations, with which they “could attempt to enter DOD installations,” per  the bulletin.   Base security officers were asked to pass out the bulletin to their people.

The bulletin reads:

The visas issued to these personnel have been revoked, or are in the process of being revoked. Lookouts have been placed in TECS.

Treasury Enforcement Communications System (TECS), is a computer-based database used to identify people suspected of violating federal law which is shared by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

Just to make us all feel better, Emery said Afghans are not the only foreign military who have gone AWOL from Lackland:

In 2009, the Defense Language Institute English Language Center reported two other students from countries other than Afghanistan went missing.  They include one Iraqi who requested asylum in Houston and one Djiboutian whose status is unknown. To date in 2010, one student from Tunisia and one from Guinea-Bissau have gone AWOL in addition to the Afghani student [Aryan] who went AWOL in January.

To put these numbers in perspective, more than 3,400 international students entered training at DLI in 2009, including 228 from Afghanistan.

Yesterday, a senior law enforcement official said that the Afghans’ disappearance was more of an immigration violation than a security threat, saying there are no “strong indications to any terrorism nexus or impending threat.”   Uh huhAnd the Times Square Dude had no ties to Pakistan, either.

The official also said that:

An unspecified number of the 17 have been caught. A number of these guys have already been located or accounted for by now.  Some are in removal proceedings to be deported already. (Authorities) still need to locate the others, and that is why the bulletin went out.  Some could mean one.

The official said the information is “kind of old” — up to two years — but added:

It is important in the sense that some people look to come to the U.S. and will take advantage of invitations to train or attend a conference or to study, etc. But their real intention is to get to the U.S. and start a new life. It is not completely rare for this to happen….

Although we are vigilant and need to work toward not allowing this to happen, this alert should “not necessarily” be described as “a national security threat, more of a ‘hey these guys violated our laws and we need to find them.

Included in the bulletin are photos of the 17 men, accompanied by their dates of birth and their TECS Lookout numbers.

Here are the names and birth dates of these men.

Abdul Ghani Barakzai, born 8/8/1977

The bulletin asks:

If any Afghan pictured herein is encountered, detain the subject and contact your local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office, the FBI or NCIS.

According to Chief of Public Affairs Emery:

When a DLI student goes missing, officials report the incident to the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as the sponsoring service branch. Invitational Travel Orders, passports, driver licenses, and airline tickets are revoked in order to hamper travel opportunities for the missing students.

Sorry, Chief Emery, that does not make me feel any better.  In fact, it reminds me of another story involving pilots from the Middle East:

Court documents in the case of Zacarias Moussaoui, the 20th hijacker from 9/11/2001, outline how the three main leaders in Florida — Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi and Ziad Jarrah — arrived there in the summer of 2000. Interviews and media accounts fill many of the gaps left by the FBI.

Atta, al-Shehhi and Jarrah had attended Technical University in Hamburg, Germany, in the late 1990s. They had been roommates there, part of an Islamic student group that hated Western ways.  Atta signed a “will” in 1996, pledging to die in a “holy war” against the infidels.

The federal indictment against Moussaoui told how more than $114,000 from the United Arab Emirates was distributed that summer to Atta and al-Shehhi through SunTrust bank accounts in Florida. Much more would come later from the al-Qaida terrorist network.  The cost of the operation was nearly $500,000.

The indictment said Atta and al-Shehhi took flying lessons from July to December at Huffman Aviation, a flight school in Venice.

Jarrah showed up that summer in Venice also, taking piloting classes at a neighboring flight school.

When Atta and al-Shehhi got their commercial pilots licenses in December 2000, Florida was still pre-occupied with the close election that put George W. Bush in the White House.

A few days later, Atta and al-Shehhi moved over to Florida’s east coast, in Opa-Locka, where each paid $1,500 cash for three hours in a Boeing 727 simulator.

During the spring and summer of 2001, eight additional hijackers came to the United States and settled in Florida. Nine opened SunTrust bank accounts.  Three others arrived in San Diego, completing the five-man team based in California.

That spring and summer, the Florida terrorist group made itself at home in South Florida, renting apartments and condos, attending gyms, and going to restaurants.  They were seen a lot, hsanging around Hollywood and Delray Beach.

These terrorists assimilated into American Society, excuse the expression, flying under the radar, only to strike on September 11th, 2001, killing 2,819 in the word Terrorist attack ever on American soil.

Those terrorists were not expert pilots like the Afghans that are missing.  What sort of damage to America could 17 Afghan pilots with military training accomplish, if they were intent on declaring jihad?

I pray that is not their intention.

Jan to Hillary: Don’t Sing it. Just Bring it.

Yesterday, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer let her feelings be known concerning Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s announcement that the Obama administration will sue over Arizona’s controversial immigration law. Brewer’s not backing down.  Not a step.

Clinton, in an attempt to be popular in South America, said in an interview with a TV station in Ecuador, that the Obama administration “will be bringing” suit against Arizona for its immigration law.  This must be news to Eric Holder.  He has said that the Justice Department still has the issue under review.

“What a disappointment,” Brewer told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren on Thursday.  Arizona’s Governor said she was shocked the administration would make such an announcement on foreign TV without giving Arizona officials the news first. Her office had nt heard from anyone in the administration as of Thursday evening.

Clinton was asked how the Obama administration was handling the debate over the law.    The secretary of state responded, before calling for comprehensive immigration reform:

President Obama has spoken out against the law because he thinks that the federal government should be determining immigration policy. And the Justice Department, under his direction, will be bringing a lawsuit against the act.

President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have both been outspoken about the Arizona law, but the administration has maintained that its attorneys are reviewing the legislation to determine the next step.

Hillary was in Latin America last week for the general assembly of the Organization of American States in Peru.

Despite Clinton’s proclamation, a Justice spokesman said Thursday that the department “continues to review the law.”  Trouble in Paradise?

Another Justice official could not confirm whether the White House directed the department to sue, but said the White House would be within its rights to do so:

It would not be inappropriate for the White House to tell us to sue. It’s not a criminal matter.

A State Department spokesman said the department would defer to the Justice Department “on what legal steps are available.”

Spokesman Andy Laine said:

The president and Secretary (Clinton) have said clearly that the administration opposes the Arizona law.  A number of leaders in the region have raised the issue with the United States. It came up during her recent trip to South America. As the secretary said, a better solution is comprehensive immigration reform.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, Federal environmental laws are restricting U.S. Border Patrol agents to a foot-and-horseback strategy in the Border Patrol’s war with Mexican drug cartels and illegal immigrants who are turning wide swaths of America’s border with Mexico into a virtual no-man’s land.

The ranking Republican on the House Parks and Public Lands Subcommittee, Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, said the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge in southern Arizona , part of which was closed in 2006 because it was considered too dangerous for Americans to visit, is just the tip of the iceberg.

He said there’s plenty of other parkland along the border that’s either closed to the public or is considered too dangerous because of concern about drug gangs, human smugglers and illegal immigrants, and that the problem is getting worse.

Bishop told FoxNews.com:

You travel here in America at your own risk.

According to Bishop, the reason the parkland along the border has become so hazardous, is because environmental regulations restrict Border Patrol from using vehicles to patrol in those areas, except in special circumstances. The problem is,  drug cartels are being pushed into those areas as immigration agents get tougher patrolling private land.

Furthermore,  Bishop said the “irony” of the situation is that trespassers in the lawless zone are trampling the environmental habitat anyway. And he said the Obama administration’s well-publicized plan to send National Guard troops to the border will be inhibited by the restrictions on federal land:

I don’t care how many troops you send down there — until they have access to the land, it doesn’t do any good.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, on April 23, signed the toughest legislation in the nation targeting the crime of illegal immigration. It will go into effect July 29, pending multiple legal challenges and the Justice Department’s review.

The law requires police investigating another incident or crime to ask people about their immigration status if there’s a “reasonable suspicion” they’re in the country illegally. It also makes being in Arizona illegally a misdemeanor, and it prohibits seeking day-labor work on the side of Arizona’s roads.

The law is designed to make Americans living in Arizona safer by driving illegal immigrants out of Arizona and discouraging them from coming in the first place, as Oklahoma did by cutting out free government benefits to illegal immigrants.  Arizona’s law has outraged Liberals and civil rights groups.  It has drawn criticism from Obama and led to marches and protests organized by people on both sides of the issue, including the SEIU.

The law was necessary because Congress wasn’t doing anything meaningful about illegal immigration, so the state had to address the issue.  The murder of rancher Robert Krentz by an illegal was the flashpoint that spurred the passage of the law.

If the Obama Administration thinks that the Governor and the people of Arizona are afraid of them, they have another thing coming.

Per RasmussenReports.com:

Governor Jan Brewer said:

We are not going to back away from this issue.  We are going to pursue it, we’re going to be very aggressive   We’ll meet them in court … And we will win.

The population of America agrees with Arizona.

Indeed.

Obama’s Kayfabe Part 3: I’ll Play the Babyface. You Play the Heel.

In the world of professional wrestling, kayfabe is the illusion of events and personalities within the industry as being “real.”  In other words, the portrayal of professional wrestling as being genuine or not fake.

President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) and BP agreed Wednesday on a $20 billion fund to compensate victims of the disastrous oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Additionally, the giant British company’s chairman apologized to Americans for the worst spill in U.S. history.  According to chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg. BP is suspending its dividends to shareholders to help pay for the costs.

Obama announced the agreement after a four-hour meeting with BP officials, in which he was described as “darting in and out of the room”.  (Receiving instructions from the Puppetmaster, Scooter?).  He also said the company had agreed to set up a separate $100 million fund to benefit oil rig workers laid off as a result of his six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling.

BP (British Petroleum) brought its top brass, and brought along a very special legal counsel, a top Clinton administration Justice Department official, Jamie Gorelick, whose name was floated as a possible attorney general pick for Obama.

Obama was supposed to spend 20 minutes in the meeting.   He entered the room with a large “posse”:  Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and her coordinator for claims oversight, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, and senior advisor Valerie Jarrett.

Obama said:

The structure we are establishing today is an important step toward making the people of the Gulf Coast whole again, but it will not turn things around overnight.

Outside the White House, Svanberg announced the dividend suspension and expressed sorrow for victims of the spill. “This tragic accident … should have never happened,” he said, and he also used the occasion to “apologize to the American people.”

Obama said the independent fund will be directed by lawyer Kenneth Feinberg, who oversaw payments to families of victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. There will be a three-member panel to adjudicate claims that are turned down.

Per Scooter:

This is about accountability. At the end of the day, that’s what every American wants and expects.

The people of the Gulf have my commitment that BP will meet its obligations to them.  This $20 billion amount will provide substantial assurance that the claims people and businesses have will be honored.”

BP will pay $5 billion a year over the next four years to set up the $20 billion fund.

Speaking of “caps”, let’s explore the unmentioned topic of the majority of Scooter’s speech last night, cap and trade and the object of his ire, BP.

BP was one of the founders of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP), a lobby dedicated to passing a cap-and-trade bill.  BP is the nation’s largest producer of natural gas.  They saw the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with the upcoming climate legislation, but first they had to persuade Congress to subsidize coal-fired power plants that switched to gas.

In February, BP quit USCAP abruptly, claiming that they could lobby more effectively on their own than by staying in a coalition that was increasingly controlled by power companies. They did very well in the House’s climate bill, while natural gas producers suffered.

Just two months later, BP endorsed Kerry’s Senate climate bill, which was hardly a capitalist concoction. One provision BP backed to the hilt, according to Congressional Quarterly and other media reports, was a higher gas tax. The money would be used for building more highways, thus leading to more driving and more gasoline consumption.

Also in the Green Energy Universe, BP has lobbied for and made a profit from subsidies for biofuels and solar energy, two products that cannot break even without government support.  Lobbying records show BP backing solar subsidies including federal funding for solar research.  The U.S. Export-Import Bank, a federal agency, is currently financially backing a BP solar energy project in Argentina.

The U.S. Export-Import Bank has also put up taxpayer cash to finance construction of the 1,094-mile Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline carrying oil from the Caspian Sea to Ceyhan, Turkey, again, turning BP a tidy profit.

Lobbying records also record BP lobbying on Obama’s stimulus bill and Bush’s Wall Street bailout.

BP employs more Democratic lobbyists than Republicans, like the Podesta Group, co-founded by John Podesta, Obama’s transition director and confidant.  You may have heard of him.  Podesta runs The Center for American Progress, a George Soros-funded Liberal Think Tank.

Other BP employees on K Street include Michael Berman, a former top aide to Vice President Walter Mondale; Steven Champlin, former executive director of the House Democratic Caucus; and Matthew LaRocco, who worked in Bill Clinton’s Interior Department and whose father was a Democratic congressman.

The political shenanigans run even deeper, and greasier,  than that.

From my blog, Do as I Say.  Not as I Do.:

In case you are tempted to buy Scooter’s phony outrage at BP and its’ gulf oil spill, here’s a story that he does not want you to know.   Most of you know that BP was a significant contributor to the record $750-million war chest of Barack Obama’s 2007-08 campaign.

Now, details have surfaced of a BP connection to Rahm Emanuel, the Chicago mayoral wannabe, current Obama chief of staff, ex-representative, ex-Clinton money man, ex-Windy City political machine go-fer and shower stalker.

Shortly after Obama’s coronation,  word got out that, as a House member, Emanuel had lived the last five years rent-free in a D.C. apartment of Democratic colleague Rep. Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut and her husband, Stanley Greenberg.  This raised a few eyebrows.

Greenberg’s consulting firm just happened to be one of the designers of BP’s  rebranding into a green petroleum company, down to green signs and the slogan “Beyond Petroleum.”

Two things are unfailingly true about this administration:

1)  There are several self-serving politicians and huge corporations chomping at the bit to make big time money from the scam known as cap and trade.

2)  Scooter is more than happy to reward his friends and investors (like Mr. Soros), even if he has to make one of them a phony scapegoat along the way.

That Was a Presidential Address?

Last night, President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) declared war against the Gulf Coast Oil Disaster:

We will fight this spill with everything we’ve got for as long it takes.

Obama’s failed attempt at a Presidential Address was long on oratory and short on solutions.

The first step in his battle plan was to announce that he had asked former Mississippi Gov. Ray Mabus to develop a long-term Gulf Coast Restoration Plan, to be funded by BP PLC, in concert with local states, communities, fishermen, conservationists and residents “as soon as possible.”

Let’s take a short look at that ethical Rock of Gibraltar, Ray Mabus, shall we?

Raymond Edwin “Ray” Mabus, Jr. (born October 11, 1948) is the 75th United States Secretary of the Navy. Mabus served as the 60th Governor of the U.S. state of Mississippi from 1988 to 1992 and as United States Ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 1994 to 1996.

In 1998, Mabus secretly tape recorded conversations he had with his then-wife Julie and a priest in marital counseling sessions.  Mabus used the tapes to obtain sole legal custody of the children from that marriage. Julie (now Hines) filed suit against the reverend, his church, and the diocese. The case was the focus of media attention for issues raised relating to privacy rights in the context of churches. Mabus’s actions in the incident were not unlawful and he was not named in the suit, however, the priest left the clergy.

Obama did not detail what this battle plan should include or how much it might cost, but I’m sure it will be in the billions of dollars. Whatever the bottom line, he declared righteously, “We will make BP pay.”

That’s not a sure thing, though. In declaring that a third party will control the compensation fund, Obama failed to mention that, ideally,  he won’t have any control of their actions. The president meets BP executives in a White House showdown today.

Fifty-seven days into the crisis, oil continues to gush from the broken wellhead, millions of gallons a day, and the fact that Obama has not done anyhing to stem the leak has raised serious doubts about his leadership and his administration’s response to what Obama has called the nation’s worst environmental disaster.

Obama also announced former Justice Department inspector general Michael Bromwich would be the new head of the Minerals Management Service.  He stated that Bromwich would be “the oil industry’s watchdog, not its partner.”  Bromich is a partner in the law firm Fried Frank’s Washington D.C. and New York offices.   Scooter also said that coming regulatory reforms would require stricter drilling safety measures and more robust spill response plans.  That might be a little problem.  Michael Bromwich has no significant experience with oil and gas issues.

Obama pledged not to rest until BP had been held accountable for all the damage the Horizon well has caused and until the Gulf Coast region is restored. However, he did not repeat his earlier pledges to see the Gulf returned to “better shape than it was before.”

Scooter described that process as a long epidemic instead of a single crushing disaster like an earthquake or hurricane, warning that the nation could be tied up with the oil and its aftermath for months “and even years.”

Looking ahead to his White House showdown this morning with BP executives, Obama said he would “inform” them that the company must set aside in an independently run fund whatever resources are required to make whole all local residents and businesses hurt by the spill and to repair the immense ecological damage wrought by the oil.

Today’s meeting will  be followed by yet another presidential statement — his fourth planned remarks on the spill in three days. (Aren’t we lucky?)  Later in the week, BP leaders are being marched out to appear before more congressional hearings in front of some of the same guys who were more than happy to accept their campaign contributions.

BP has had limited success so far in siphoning some oil from gushing into the water. But Scooter said that within weeks “these efforts should capture up to 90 percent of the oil leaking out of the well.” Later in the summer, he said, the company should finish drilling a relief well to stop the leak completely.

However, Obama said that the new Gulf restoration plan would go beyond just repairing the effects of the crude on a unique, teeming ecology that was already battered by the 2005 hurricanes Katrina and Rita:

We must make a commitment to the Gulf Coast that goes beyond responding to the crisis of the moment.

The majority of the president’s speech was a soliloquiy of praise for the steps that he and his administration had taken to deal with the disaster “from the very beginning,” he said.  Was that thunder I heard in the background when he said that?

Obama also spent a huge amount of time lecturing and cajoling Americans on the overwhelming necessity of passing sweeping energy and climate change legislation, a key domestic priority of his presidency (and his friends who have invested heavily in Green Energy) that had become a long shot.

But while Obama urged action, he was very sneaky about what he was calling on lawmakers and the public to rally behind. For instance, though Obama supports placing a price on heat-trapping carbon emissions, he did not have the courage to directly state that:

The tragedy unfolding on our coast is the most painful and powerful reminder yet that the time to embrace a clean energy future is now.  I say we can’t afford not to change how we produce and use energy – because the long-term costs to our economy, our national security, and our environment are far greater.

G.E., The Chicago Climate Exchange, and his Puppetmaster, George Soros, were grinning from ear to ear and counting their money already.

While he was making his push for Green Energy, he lied by making the statement that America was running out of places to drill for oil.

Mr. President, allow me to suggest a couple of places, just off the top of my head.

There is estimated to be between 3 and 9 billion barrels of recoverable oil beneath a 1.5 million acre tract on the North Slope of Alaska. This area is a specially designated area within the 19 million-acre Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), known as the “Coastal Plain”.  This area was designated by Congress in 1981 as requiring special study to determine its oil and gas potential and the effects of development on the environment. In 1987, the Department of Interior recommended development.

Also, I guess you forgot that America is sitting on top of a huge Oil Field that stretches from the Dakotas through Montana up into Canada.  The Bakken Formation could really boost America’s Oil reserves and help to make us energy independent.  4.1 billion barrels of recoverable oil, per the United States Geological Survey, are held in this 200,000 square mile reserve that was initially discovered in 1951.

Gulf Coast residents are not impressed with the president’s leadership.  One spray-painted sign along the president’s Florida motorcade route earlier in the day, as Obama capped a two-day inspection tour of the region said:

Obama you are useless.

After this failure of an address, I’m sure the country feels the same way.

Obama’s Kayfabe Part 2: Obeying the Puppetmaster

In yesterday’s Blog, I told you about my belief that President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) has been intentionally procrastinating in dealing with the Gulf Coast Oil Disaster in order to facilitate the passing of the unwanted cap and trade legislation.

Why would the President of the United States intentionally harm the country he is supposed to protect?  Who would benefit from this traitorous action?

I’m glad you asked.  Obama has several “friends” who are invested in the Green Energy Movement and would make out like bandits by the passage of this legislation.  Let’s take a look at three of them.

1.  General Electric –  The CEO of General Electric is one of Obama’s closest advisors.  He officially advises the president on economic issues.  In 2005 GE created a brand new division called GE Ecomagination – from Immelt:

GE Economagination is GE’s commitment to address challenges such as the need for cleaner, more efficient sources of energy, reduced emissions and abundant sources of clean water.

What makes that statement ironic is what the EPA calls Superfund Sites.  These are sites that companies have polluted with dangerous toxins and have been designated by the EPA to clean them up.  GE has a bunch of sites like this but two of the largest are the Hudson River in NY and the Housatonic River in Massachusetts.  GE has been fighting the EPA for 25 years, trying to get out of cleaning up their mess.  Their plant in NY left carcinogenic PCBs in the Hudson River, known as carcinogens in humans.  GE did not want to clean up the water their plant made a toxic mess of, yet Immelt goes around lecturing people about clean water.  They finally started cleaning up the Hudson River on May 15, 2009.

GE created another division called GE AES GHGS – Green House Gas Services.  Their company website explains how they can help companies reduce green house gas emissions by purchasing ‘credits’ (recompense) from GE’s GHGS:

Greenhouse Gas Services certifies each one of its GHG credits to a rigorous Standard of Practice to ensure the environmental and scientific integrity of each credit. As a result, companies that purchase GHG credits from Greenhouse Gas Services can be certain that what they are doing is truly helping to reduce climate change-causing greenhouse gases.

GE will make billions off of Cap & Trade.

2.  The Chicago Climate Exchange –  From my post, Psst.  Bud.  You Want to Buy Some Air?

The Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) is proud to let everyone know that it is “North America’s only cap-and-trade system for all six greenhouse gases, with global affiliates and projects worldwide.” Barack Obama served on the board of the Joyce Foundation from 1994 to 2002 . What a coincidence, that, as president, pushing cap-and-trade is one of his highest priorities, huh?

…Climate trading could be a $10 trillion dollar market if cap-and-trade measures like Waxman-Markey and Kerry-Boxer are signed into law.  These measures will make energy prices go through the roof, even as companies buy and sell permits for permission to emit those six “greenhouse” gases (like paying for forgiveness of your sins).

Founders of the CCX include former Vice-President of the United States Al Gore.  Gore is co-founder of Generation Investment Management, which sells carbon offsets of no value whatsoever.  These offsets allow rich polluters to continue to pollute with a clear conscience (go and sin no more, wink, wink).  Other founders include former Goldman Sachs partner David Blood, as well as Mark Ferguson and Peter Harris, also of Goldman Sachs.

3.  George Soros (The Puppetmaster) – Reuters is reporting that Brazil is going to benefit from the BP oil spill catastrophe as the US moratorium on offshore drilling makes more rigs available for other countries.

IN the middle of the devastating effects on offshore drilling caused by the Gulf Coast Oil Disaster, Brazil is proceeding with a $220 billion five-year plan to tap oil fields even deeper than BP’s (BP.L) ill-fated Gulf well.

Thirty five rigs are now sitting idle in the Gulf of Mexico.  Brazil is already corresponding with companies wanting to move their rigs there.  Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, already supplies about a fourth of the world’s deep water oil.

Analysts say oil companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico—most notably BP and Chevron (CVX.N)—may have to decide between paying standby fees while the rigs are idle, moving them to other projects, or canceling the contracts.

The U.S. moratorium may last longer than six months because of U.S. sentiment against offshore drilling and plans for an overhaul of safety standards.

Our horrendous disaster could make Brazil a major oil exporter.

Wow!  What an amazing happenstance of good luck for The Puppetmaster, unrepentant Nazi collaborator, George Soros!

Meanwhile, if you want to see what Scooter is going to do next in response to the Deepwater Horizon disaster,  read what the Center for American Progress, a Soros-funded entity,  is urging him to do.

The liberal think tank with close White House ties appears to have more influence on the response to the disaster than the president’s in-house advisers.

On May 4, the CAP’s energy and environment expert, Daniel Weiss, urged the president to name an independent commission to look at the causes of the Deepwater Horizon disaster.  On May 22, he did just that.

On May 21, CAP president, John Podesta, privately asked White House officials to name someone to be the public point person for the spill response.  A week later, the White House announced that Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen would hold daily briefings on the spill, wherever he would be on any given day.

On May 26, Weiss said the White House needed to demand that BP immediately set up an escrow account with billions of dollars from which claims for Gulf state residents would be paid out.

Monday’s headlines announced the president’s latest get-tough stand: BP needs to set up a billion-dollar escrow account.

Pull those strings of your marionette, Puppetmaster.

So, tonight, as you watch President Barack Hussein Obama (peace be upon him) make the most important speech of his presidency, think about the political machinations that I have laid out the last two days and think about and pray for the good people of America’s Gulf Coast.  And try not to throw something at the TV.

Obama’s Kayfabe

In the world of professional wrestling, kayfabe is the illusion of events and personalities within the industry as being “real.”  In other words, the portrayal of professional wrestling as being genuine or not fake.

Tomorrow night, President Barack Hussein Obama (peace be unto him) will address the nation on the subject of the Gulf Coast Oil Disaster, some 57 days after it began.  It will come after he completes his 4th trip to the coast, arriving today and staying down there through tomorrow morning.  He will travel to Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi in order to assess the damage and play with some more tar balls before he returns to the White House to deliver his speech.

Tuesday night, he will deliver probably the most important address of his Presidency.

In a worst-case scenario, the oil could cause billions of dollars in damage to property, wildlife, livelihoods and the seafood industry all along the southeastern edge of the United States and take several years to fully clean up.  The problem is, that is just speculation.  Nobody knows for certain what the extent of the economical and ecological damage to America’s Southeastern Coast will be, nor how long it will take to recover or if America will.

What then, will Scooter say tomorrow night?

David Axelrod, Obama’s Senior Lackey, err, adviser, said the president would announce plans to make BP create a BP-funded escrow account that will pay for damage claims from the worsening oil spill. In addition, Axelrod said, the plan would call for an independent third party to handle the claims process.

Axlerod told reporters:

The president will use every legal device at his disposal to make sure that this money is escrowed and that there is an independent administrator so that claims are not slow-walked, people can get the relief they need in a timely fashion and that we don’t create more victims from this terrible disaster.

Asked if Obama had legal authority to force BP to create the escrow fund, Axelrod said:

The advice is that we have the authority to compel such an escrow fund if it comes to that.

Axelrod noted that BP had “legal responsibilities to its investors but they also have a moral and legal responsibility to the people in the Gulf, and they need to satisfy that.”

The president is also expected to address efforts to contain the spill, the timeline for capturing the oil, the long-term recovery and restoration of the Gulf region and regulatory reform efforts at the Mineral Management Service.

I’m sure we’ll also hear about how he’s been on the case since Day One.

Scooter will meet Wednesday with BP.  This will be his first face-to-face contact with top company officials, after 57 days of questions about why he has not met with them before now.  BP has acquiesced to the Regime’s demand , and the chairman of BP’s board, Carl-Henric Svanberg, will come.   He will be accompanied by BP’s embattled chief executive, Tony Hayward, who has been publically blistered for statements that have been considered insensitive and self-serving.

In the midst of complaining from Britain that the Obama administration and the United States are excessively bashing BP, Scooter discussed the disaster on Saturday in an all-encompassing phone call with the new British prime minister, David Cameron.  (I guess he was trying to make up for lost time.)   A White House statement afterward said that the two men agreed that “BP must do all it can to respond effectively to the situation.”

Questions remain.

Why did Obama and his adminstration wait so long to get engaged?

Why didn’t federal officials implement an oil spill clean up plan they’ve had on the books since 1994?
Why has Obama refused to waive the Jones Act of 1920?
Known as the Marine Merchant Act,  it requires that all goods transported by water between U.S. ports be carried in U.S.-flag ships, constructed in the United States, owned by U.S. citizens, and crewed by U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents.
Obama could waive the Jones Act by signing an Executive Order in about 3 minutes, less time than it takes Obama to put a tee in the ground on a golf course.  The Gulf needs all the help it can get.
Why is Obama refusing foreign entities with better expertise and equipment in oil spills when they offer to help?

Three days after the explosion of the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, the Dutch government made such an offer.

It was willing to provide ships outfitted with oil-skimming booms, and it proposed a plan for building sand barriers to protect sensitive marshlands.

The response from the Obama administration and BP, which are coordinating the cleanup: “The embassy got a nice letter from the administration that said, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,’” said Geert Visser, consul general for the Netherlands in Houston.

Back to the present.   55 days into the disaster, President Barack Obama spent four hours on the golf course Sunday in temperatures that peaked in the low 90s.  The White House  press pool said that they left Andrews Air Force Base as it started to rain after 4 p.m.

People have been saying that there has to be some political reason for the horrendous response of Obama and his administration.  Nobody can be this arrogant, unfeeling, and stupid, intentionally, can they?

Guess what?  They have been running a kayfabe on us.  The real story is that they are “not letting a good crisis go to waste” and they are going to use this tragedy as the means to institute cap and trade, thereby paying back all their supporters and advisers like Jeffrey Immelt and G.E., who have invested so heavily in the con game known as Green Energy, and at the same time paving the way for the Chicago Climate Exchange.

Listen to what Scooter told Roger Simon in an interview for politico.com, Friday:

Obama — facing mounting criticism of his handling of the BP gusher, even from longtime allies — vowed to make a “bold” push for a new energy law even as the calamity continues to unfold. And he said he will use the rest of his presidency to try to put the United States on a course toward a “new way of doing business when it comes to energy.”

Obama, speaking from the Oval Office, said:

In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11.  I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come.

So, Obama and his administration have been playing us all for suckers.  And the consequences of his agenda-driven procrastination will be felt by all Americans, not just the residents of the Gulf Coast, and could continue to plague the country until the generation of our grandchildrens’ grandchildren.

Heck of a job there, Scooter.
