Muslim Brotherhood’s Morsi to Mediate Israel/Palestinian Conflict…Huh?

The Leader of Hamas did something very stupid, yesterday.

Don’t aggravate the bull, if you don’t want the horns.

The New York Times reports

The top leader of Hamas dared Israel on Monday to launch a ground invasion of Gaza and dismissed diplomatic efforts to broker a cease-fire in the six-day-old conflict, as the Israeli military conducted a new wave of deadly airstrikes on the besieged Palestinian enclave, including a second hit on a 15-story building that houses media outlets. A volley of rockets fired from Gaza into southern Israel included one that hit a vacant school.

Speaking at a news conference in Cairo, where the diplomatic efforts were under way, the Hamas leader, Khaled Meshal, suggested that the Israeli infantry mobilization on the border with Gaza was a bluff on the part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel.

“If you wanted to launch it, you would have done it,” Mr. Meshal told reporters. He accused Israel of using the invasion threat as an attempt to “dictate its own terms and force us into silence.”

Rejecting Israel’s contention that Hamas had precipitated the conflict, Mr. Meshal said the burden was on the Israelis. “The demand of the people of Gaza is meeting their legimitate demands — for Israel to be restrained from its aggression, assassinations and invasions, and for the siege over Gaza to be ended,” he said.

Mr. Netanyahu met with top ministers Monday evening and Israeli media said they discussed the next steps in the Gaza conflict, including the possibility of a truce. Israeli officials declined to comment on those reports.

So, is President Barack Hussein Obama going to man up and step in and try to mediate in this conflict? No…another honest, objective leader has stepped in, with Obama’s blessing:

While holding itself out as an honest broker for truce talks between Israel and Hamas over the Gaza conflict, Egypt’s new government sought on Monday to plunge into the battle over international public opinion on behalf of the Palestinian cause — an arena where the Israelis, more experienced in the world of the free press and democratic politics, have historically dominated.

In Egypt’s most concerted effort to win more global public support for the Palestinians, advisers to Egypt’s President Mohamed Morsi, a former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood who has been an outspoken supporter of Hamas, invited foreign correspondents in Cairo to a background briefing at which a senior Egyptian official sought to blame Israel for the conflict while at the same time maintaining Egypt’s role as an intermediary pressing both sides for peace. “We are against any bloodshed,” the official said repeatedly, arguing that Egypt sought stability and individual freedom for all in the region.

Speaking on condition of anonymity to avoid upsetting the talks with the Israelis, the Egyptian official argued that the West, which supports Israel’s right to defend itself against rocket attacks from Gaza, was essentially blaming the victim.

“It is so strange people are talking about the rights of self-defense,” he said. “The self-defense of whom? Of the occupied people? Of the besieged people? Of the hurt people? No, the self-defense of the most powerful state in the region and the self-defense of the occupying force of Gaza and Palestine. This is what some of the international community are talking about.”

In 1982, the Muslim Brotherhood, which Islam expert Robert Spencer has called “the parent organization of Hamas and al Qaeda,” adopted a strategic plan known as “The Global Project for Palestine.” This Project laid the groundwork for a terrorist “secret apparatus” that eventually would culminate in the creation of Hamas in December 1987 and the unveiling of the Hamas charter in August 1988. As an outgrowth of this project, in May 1991 the Muslim Brotherhood issued to its ideological allies an explanatory memorandum on “the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America.” Explaining that the Brotherhood’s mission was to establish “an effective and … stable Islamic Movement” on the continent, this document outlined a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” for achieving that objective. It stated that Muslims “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands … so that … God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.”

So, the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas are linked together like Father and Son.

Mohammed Morsi is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, and he’s supposed to be an honest broker between Israel and Hamas?

The War Against Christianity: The Siege of Santa Monica

Atheists may only be a small percentage of our population, however, in some of their minds, they believe that they are the overwhelming majority.

The latest battlefront in the War on Christianity is raging in California, where local Grinches are trying to keep Christmas from happening.

Damon Vix didn’t have to go to court to push Christmas out of the city of Santa Monica. He just joined the festivities.

The atheist’s anti-God message alongside a life-sized nativity display in a park overlooking the beach ignited a debate that burned brighter than any Christmas candle.

Santa Monica officials snuffed the city’s holiday tradition this year rather than referee the religious rumble, prompting churches that have set up a 14-scene Christian diorama for decades to sue over freedom of speech violations. Their attorney will ask a federal judge Monday to resurrect the depiction of Jesus’ birth, while the city aims to eject the case.

“It’s a sad, sad commentary on the attitudes of the day that a nearly 60-year-old Christmas tradition is now having to hunt for a home, something like our savior had to hunt for a place to be born because the world was not interested,” said Hunter Jameson, head of the nonprofit Santa Monica Nativity Scene Committee that is suing.

Missing from the courtroom drama will be Vix and his fellow atheists, who are not parties to the case. Their role outside court highlights a tactical shift as atheists evolve into a vocal minority eager to get their non-beliefs into the public square as never before.

National atheist groups earlier this year took out full-page newspaper ads and hundreds of TV spots in response to the Catholic bishops’ activism around women’s health care issues and are gearing up to battle for their own space alongside public Christmas displays in small towns across America this season.

“In recent years, the tactic of many in the atheist community has been, if you can’t beat them, join them,” said Charles Haynes, a senior scholar at the First Amendment Center and director of the Newseum’s Religious Freedom Education Project in Washington. “If these church groups insist that these public spaces are going to be dominated by a Christian message, we’ll just get in the game — and that changes everything.”

In the past, atheists primarily fought to uphold the separation of church and state through the courts. The change underscores the conviction held by many nonbelievers that their views are gaining a foothold, especially among young adults.

The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life released a study last month that found 20 percent of Americans say they have no religious affiliation, an increase from 15 percent in the last five years. Atheists took heart from the report, although Pew researchers stressed that the category also encompassed majorities of people who said they believed in God but had no ties with organized religion and people who consider themselves “spiritual” but not “religious.”

“We’re at the bottom of the totem pole socially, but we have muscle and we’re flexing it,” said Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Wisconsin-based Freedom from Religion Foundation. “Ignore our numbers at your peril.”

Founded in 1978, the nonprofit, tax-exempt Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) consists of more than 13,000 members and calls itself “the largest association of freethinkers (atheists and agnostics) in the United States.” Its mission is “to promote free thought and to keep state and church separate.”

According to FFRF, religion invariably has been a negative force in human societies. “The history of Western civilization shows us that most social and moral progress has been brought about by persons free from religion,” the organization says. “… In modern times, the first to speak out for prison reform, for humane treatment of the mentally ill, for abolition of capital punishment, for women’s right to vote, for death with dignity for the terminally ill, and for the right to choose contraception, sterilization and abortion have been freethinkers [i.e., atheists and agnostics], just as they were the first to call for an end to slavery.”

The Foundation is led by its co-presidents, Dan Barker and his wife, Annie Laurie Gaylor. Barker was a Christian preacher for 19 years before renouncing his faith in 1984. Gaylor, who earned a journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1980, co-founded FFRC with her mother and the late John Sontarck in 1978. She is author of the books Woe to the Women: The Bible Tells Me So (1981), and Betrayal of Trust: Clergy Abuse of Children (1988). She also edited the 1997 anthology Women Without Superstition: No Gods, No Masters. Today she edits FFRF’s newspaper, Freethought Today, which is published ten times annually.

The FFRF has filed a complaint against the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, making the claim that the ministry’s activity during the election season violates its tax exempt status.

Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Wisconsin-based organization, argued in its filed report that BGEA’s “vote biblical values” ad campaign violated the IRS’ rules on religious groups and political campaigning.

“BGEA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has run full-page ads publicizing Billy Graham’s call for the electorate to ‘vote biblical values,'” said FFRF in a statement last week. “The ads have appeared in several ‘swing state’ newspapers in preparation for tomorrow’s heated presidential election. Throughout the month of October, BGEA published articles favorable to Romney, which included a statement by Billy Graham.”

Brent Rinehart of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association provided The Christian Post with an official statement regarding the “Biblical Values” ad campaign.

“The ads intentionally do not mention any candidate, political party, or contest, urging instead for readers to cast votes for candidates-at all levels-based on their support for biblical values,” reads the statement in part.

On Nov. 6, the day before my 94th birthday, our nation will hold one of the most critical elections in my lifetime. We are at a crossroads and there are profound moral issues at stake. I strongly urge you to vote for candidates who support the biblical definition of marriage between a man and a woman, protect the sanctity of life and defend our religious freedoms. The Bible speaks clearly on these crucial issues. Please join me in praying for America, that we will turn our hearts back toward God.

The FFRF is afraid of that message. 

Why? Because just like a lot of other Liberals, “those who claim to be the most tolerant of all of us, are actually the least tolerant of all.”

Unemployed, Underemployed,Overtaxed, Middle Class, and Middle-Aged

A friend of mine from church answered my request on LinkedIn, yesterday.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with LinkedIn, it’s basically a business version of facebook, where you can link in with others in your industry, or to those in others, which becomes very beneficial, in the event you ever find yourself out of a job, as your resume is right there on your profile.

This friend of mine from chuch suddenly finds himself out of a job, through an unexpected termination from a national company, after 26 years.

That seems to be happening more and more to people in our age group, 50 and above..

It is hard enough to find a job, when you are young. When you are, ummm, more experienced, shall we say, it’s dadgum near impossible.

A 2009 CareerBuilder report found that 63 percent of workers aged 55 and older who’d been laid off had applied for jobs more junior than the ones they’d previously held. One out of every four companies surveyed received applications for entry-level jobs from workers over the age of 50, and an additional 11 percent got them from retirees. Moreover, in a 2011 CareerBuilder study, 75 percent of employers said they would consider overqualified candidates. “We’re now seeing people at all ages and life stages tweaking or changing careers throughout their lives, often repeatedly,” says Alboher.

I know what I am writing about, my friends. You see, from January 2011 – June 2012, I toiled away at a government internship,where I was employed (Praise God), but hopelessly underpaid.

Unfortunately, this scenario called “underemployment” will happen even more with the Advent of Obamacare.

Papa John’s Pizza announced earlier this week that they were going to lay off folks and cut others to part-time, in our to get out of having to comply with Government-ordered Health Insurance.

From the way the Liberals have carried on about it, you would have though that Papa John himself , lined all his employees up against a wall and pulled the trigger.

You see, instead of Obama’s brilliantly-conceived National Health System stimulating America’s Economy, as Nancy Pelosi and her gang of Professional Politicians promised us,  it will actually help to destroy it.

And that’s one area, Barack Hussein Obama needs no help in. Look at the damage to our economy he has done already…and the damage he is about to do to our pocket books.

The president is convinced Americans need to pay more in taxes. Here’s what he said yesterday.

“I think everybody out there understood that was an important debate and the majority of voters agreed with me. By the way, more voters agreed with me on this issue than voted for me! So we’ve got a clear majority of the American people who recognize if we’re gonna be serious about deficit reduction we gotta do it in a balanced way.”

But let me tell you, come January 1, you’re probably not going to be happy with the amount of taxes you’re paying. That’s because it’s not just Federal taxes that you pay.

A middle class taxpayer pays 25% percent of their income in Federal Income Tax. Sounds, ok?

Then there is the Federal Social Security and Medicare payroll tax of 13.3%. You pick up 5.65% while you’re employer pays 7.65%. Add them up and that’s 38.3% of middle class family incomes going to Uncle Sam. But we aren’t done, not by a long shot.

According to the Tax Foundation, the average state’s income tax rate on the middle class is 4.82%. Of course, some states have it and some don’t, but we’re taking an average here.

Now the total: 43.12% of middle class income to taxes.

Oh, and I almost forgot, unless congress makes a move, Federal Income taxes go to 28% for middle income folks next year as the Bush tax cuts expire.

Yeah, Barry. Let’s tax the wealthy some more. That ought to encourage them to expand their businesses and hire more Americans.

Part of the secret is, to constantly re-invent yourself. Learn new skills. Become familiar with the New Technology.

I did, through that government internship. Now, I’m gainfully employed as a Vice-President of Marketing, using my skills in the Social Media to benefit the corporation I work for.

Most Corporations, while stating that they are impressed by your past accomplishments, want to know what you will do for them now and in the future, if you’re hired.

Here’s a tip: If you do not know how to use a Desktop Computer, learn how to…quickly.

Even Used Car Salesmen have to be able to enter numbers in the Company Database.

And, above all, do not lose hope.

Election 2012: You Get What You Voted For…Unfortunately.

So, here we are. Almost two weeks after the 2012 Presidential Election.

Seems like an eternity.

According to the Election Protection Coalition, American voters reported more than 70,000 voting problems by 5 PM Eastern time on election day.

There is a whole lot of sweeping under the rug going on.

Since the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama, what have we seen?

Well, Obama’s blood brothers, the Unions, are running wild. Yesterday, they killed Twinkie the Kid….literally.  Thanks to the Teamsters refusing to accept an offer from the Hostess Company, and the suggestion from the Baker’s Union that they return to work, 18,000 Americans are now out of work right before the holidays, and a company , who has been as big a part of the American Landscape as Mom and Apple pie, has shut its doors…for good.

But, as Al Jolson used to say,

What a minute. You aint seen nothin’, yet.

The Unions have infiltrated Walmart, the world’s largest retail outlet store, and are planning a strike on America’s biggest shopping day: Black Friday.

Lenin lives. And, Bud Walton is dead. (Rest in Peace, sir.)

Also, on the Home Front, the BenghaziGate Murder Investigation, subtitled, “The Many Loves of General David Patraeus”, continues.  The latest meme this morning, is that the phoney Youtube Video story was given out by the Administration, through their spokesperson Susan Rice, in order not to tip off al-Qaeda.

You mean they did not know that they had already attacked the Libyan Consulate, and murder those 4 Americans?

C’mon, Barry. You sound like a 6 year old who is lying about breaking his Mom’s favorite vase.

Honest, Mom. The dog did it.

This Administration would be laughable…if they weren’t so scary.

Evidently, getting re-elected is easy, if you bribe the voters.

Telling the truth is hard.

But, hey there is some good news. President Obama trained his laser-like focus on the plight of the victims of Hurricane Sandy, up in the Northeast. Why, he even descended from his throne, to visit the poor peons.

It only took him 3 weeks.

Speaking of Obama’s laser-like focus, he, along with Vice-President Biden, met Friday afternoon with hand-picked Advisers, concerning the Fiscal Cliff looming before us.

The Iron Dome intercepted two Iranian-made Fajr-5 missiles aimed at Tel Aviv on Saturday. The missiles marked the third attack on the heavily populated central city in as many days, after Palestinian terrorists from Gaza fired four missiles toward the financial capital on Thursday and Friday, prompting red alert air raid sirens to sound in the city.

The Defense Ministry deployed an upgraded Iron Dome battery in the Gush Dan area in the center of Israel on Saturday morning, after rushing its production in light of escalation. The battery is the fifth Iron Dome system operational in Israel.

Islamic Jihad leader Khalid Batsh said on Saturday that the launch of rockets at Tel Aviv from Gaza show “the rules of the game have changed in the region,” Palestinian news agency Ma’an reported.

The attack followed volley after volley of rockets aimed at southern towns on Saturday, as red alert sirens wailed repeatedly, warning residents to flee for cover. Two rockets also landed outside the capital Jerusalem on Friday. One rocket landed near a Palestinian village in the West Bank, shattering windows and scaring residents.

Rockets in Ashdod lightly injured five people Friday, and caused damage to a house. Houses were also damaged in Eshkol and Be’er Tuviya. Four IDF soldiers were lightly injured by shrapnel from a rocket in the Eshkol area.

According to Israel Radio, over 60 rockets have fallen on the South on the fourth day of Operation Pillar of Defense. The Iron Dome rocket defense system intercepted 15 of the rockets.

In total, Palestinians fired 740 rockets toward the Jewish state since the beginning of Operation Pillar of Defense on Wednesday, but only around 30 landed in built-up areas. Iron Dome intercepted 230 projectiles in total, maintaining a 90% intercept rate. Only 27 of the rockets, about 4 percent, ultimately landed in urban areas.

Israel is surrounded by countries ruled by Radical Islamacists, backed by the Muslim Brotherhood, the granddaddy of Muslim Terrorist Groups who placed these rulers in the seats of power, by overthrowing Moderate Muslim Dictators, with the blessings of Obama and his Administration.

An example of one of those rulers is the Mohammed Morsi, of Egypt, whom Obama is praising, during the current Middle East violence.

Obama called Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi on Friday and praised Egypt’s efforts to ease tensions in the region, the White House said. Obama expressed hope that Egypt’s efforts would be successful, officials said.

So, to further summarize my thoughts on where our country stands, allow me to quote The Great Communicator, President Ronald Wilson Reagan:

BenghaziGate: “Video?” “What Video?”

General David Petraeus, Former Director of the CIA, may very well be the one person that this Administration can not intimidate into silence, concerning Benghazigate.

Foxnews.com reports on yesterday’s closed door questioning of the General:

Former CIA Director David Petraeus stoked the controversy over the Obama administration’s handling of the Libya terror attack, testifying Friday that references to “Al Qaeda involvement” were stripped from his agency’s original talking points — while other intelligence officials were unable to say who changed the memo, according to a top lawmaker who was briefed.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told Fox News that intelligence officials who testified in a closed-door hearing a day earlier, including Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and Acting CIA Director Mike Morell, said they did not know who changed the talking points. He said they went out to multiple departments, including the State Department, National Security Council, Justice Department and White House.

“To me the question right now is who changed those talking points and why. … I’d say it was somebody in the administration had to have taken it out,” King told Fox News. “That, to me, has to be pursued.”

Petraeus left Capitol Hill around noon, after testifying in private hearings before the House and Senate intelligence committees. In his wake, Republicans and Democrats battled over whether his testimony should raise more suspicions about the administration’s handling of the attack.

King and other Republicans indicated they still have plenty of questions about the aftermath of the strike.

“No one knows yet exactly who came up with the final version of the talking points,” he said.

Considering the lies and misdirection that have been given out by Obama and his minions  since the murder of those 4 Americans at the Consulate in Benghazi, Rep. King, getting the truth out of that bunch will be as hard as getting Lindsey Lohan to stay sober.

Here is a timeline, published by Fox News which cleary demonstrates the Administration’s explanation of how the events on 9/11/12 happened has “evolved”:

White House

President Obama, speaking in the Rose Garden on Sept. 12, referred to “acts of terror” as he condemned the attack. But later that day, when asked in an interview with CBS whether he thought the attack was terrorism, Obama said “it’s too early to tell exactly how this came about.”

On Sept. 14, Press Secretary Jay Carney said “we have no information to suggest that it was a preplanned attack.” He continued to link the attack to protests over an anti-Islam film.

On Sept. 19, National Counterterrorism Center Director Matt Olsen testified that the strike was a “terrorist attack.”

On Sept. 20, during an interview with Univision, Obama again declined to label the attack terrorism. “I don’t want to speak to something until we have all the information,” he said.

However, that same day, Carney acknowledged it is “self-evident that what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack.”

Obama and the White House would later claim they labeled the attack terrorism from the start.

On Sept. 12, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the U.S. was “working to determine the precise motivations and methods” of the attackers, while citing the protest in Cairo over the anti-Islam film.

The following day, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said the department was “very cautious about drawing any conclusions” about who was behind the attack and what the motivations were.

On Sept. 16, despite emerging evidence that the attack involved at least some pre-planning, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice went on five Sunday shows to claim it was spontaneous.

“The information, the best information and the best assessment we have today is that in fact this was not a preplanned, premeditated attack. That what happened initially was that it was a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired in Cairo as a consequence of the video,” she said on “Fox News Sunday.”

The next day, Nuland was asked if the department regarded the strike as terrorism, and she said “I don’t think we know enough.”

On Sept. 21, Clinton used the “terrorist attack” label to describe the assault.

Intelligence community

On Sept. 14, Petraeus gave a briefing to lawmakers in which, according to sources, he stressed the link between the anti-Islam film and the Libya attack — and played down the involvement of terrorist groups.

On Sept. 28, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper’s office issued a detailed statement. In it, the DNI said initial information led the office “to assess that the attack began spontaneously following protests earlier that day” in Cairo, and that information was provided to members of the Executive Branch and Congress.

But, the office said: “As we learned more about the attack, we revised our initial assessment to reflect new information indicating that it was a deliberate and organized terrorist attack carried out by extremists.”

On Oct. 19, the story changed again. An intelligence official circulated a revised version of events, acknowledging “extremist” elements were likely involved but claiming “the bulk of available information supports the early assessment that the attackers launched their assault opportunistically after they learned about the violence at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.”

On Nov. 16, Petraeus testified on Capitol Hill in closed-door hearings that he suspected from the start that the attack was terrorism. According to Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., he told lawmakers that the CIA’s original assessment pointed to “Al Qaeda involvement,” but that the line was later removed.

Israel Lights the Fuse

The Powder Keg that is the Middle East has exploded, once again. And this time, our ally, Israel, lit the fuse.

Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak signaled that Israel is ready to escalate its military operations against Gaza after at least one long-range missile was fired at Tel Aviv by Palestinian militants.

The missile attack and the volume of fire in general toward Israel “is an escalation and there will be a price to pay,” Barak said on Channel 2 television yesterday. It was the first such attack on Israel’s commercial hub since Iraqi missiles in 1991 during the Gulf War.

Neither side showed signs of yielding as international diplomacy ramped up. Hamas kept up rocket fire in the most serious conflict since Israel sent troops into Gaza in December 2008 in a three-week offensive it said was aimed at stopping such attacks. Israeli Army Spokesman Brigadier General Yoav Mordechai told Channel 2 that the military was calling up 30,000 reservists hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military was ready for a “substantial expansion” to stop rocket attacks.

In a phone call with Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi, U.S. President Barack Obama supported Israel’s right to self defense as the two leaders agreed on “the importance of working to de- escalate the situation as quickly as possible,” according to a Nov. 14 White House statement. United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon plans to go to Egypt and Israel next week, according to a Security Council diplomat informed of the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity because the trip hasn’t been announced. The UN spokesman’s office declined to comment.

Israel began a military operation termed Pillar of Defense against militants in the Gaza Strip on Nov. 14. At least 19 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli military strikes, including the leader of the Hamas military wing, and three Israelis died in one of 300 rocket attacks launched from Gaza in the past 24 hours.

Israel launched a wave of air strikes at 70 underground launch sites for medium-range rockets late yesterday, and direct hits were confirmed, the army said in an e-mailed statement. Israeli naval vessels fired on Hamas bases on the Gaza shore, the army said.

The rocket fired at the Tel Aviv area of Gush Dan, home to about 1.3 million people, probably fell in the sea, said police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld, noting there was no damage and no injuries reported. Air-raid warnings sounded in the city, which is at the limit of the approximately 70-kilometer (44 mile) range of the Iranian-developed Fajr-5 rocket.

About the elimination of that Hamas Terrorist…the Jerusalem Post reports that

Israel’s leaders were literally looking in the opposite direction, and making sure everyone knew it, just before catching Hamas’s top commander in the Gaza Strip off-guard in an air strike that killed him.

In what now appears to have been a diversionary tactic, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak paid a visit to the Syrian frontier in the north, hours before the air offensive began in the south.

In fact, Israeli experts now say, the visit may have been part of a ploy to deceive Hamas into believing that a truce was in place in Gaza, so that the Israeli army could catch its target, Hamas military mastermind Ahmed Jabari.

“The sense of complacency that Barak and Netanyahu created … brought Jabari and his friends out of his holes and made possible the surprise attack,” military affairs analyst Alex Fishman wrote in Yedioth Ahronoth.

Israel has a thick list of potential targets in the Gaza Strip, an enclave regularly criss-crossed by IAF drones and where militants’ movements are routinely logged. The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), which oversaw the assassination of Jabari, keeps tabs on Hamas leaders with a network of informers.

So it is surprising that the usually cautious militant, who had just returned from a pilgrimage to Mecca, chose to drive in broad daylight down a main Gaza street. His car was hit by a missile in an attack filmed from the air and put on YouTube.

Jabari may have been lulled into the open by public signals from Israel that a round of cross-border violence along the frontier in the past week had run its course.

On Monday, Netanyahu convened the nine-member inner cabinet to discuss an upsurge of Hamas rocket attacks last weekend that had been disrupting life for a million Israelis in the South but seemed to be abating.

It was at that meeting, political sources said, that a Shin Bet plan to assassinate Jabari was approved and the first act of deception was played out: Minister Benny Begin, a member of the forum, went on Israeli radio to say the current round of violence appeared to be over.

Hamas apparently bought the message. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, said Israel, in launching the offensive, had violated an informal truce brokered by mediators.

“The factions abided by the understanding of calm, and the occupation bears the responsibility for the consequences that will follow the ugly crime,” he said.

Israel had largely suspended assassinations of top Hamas men in recent years, strikes that could have triggered wider violence along the Gaza frontier.

It focused instead on targeting rocket launching crews in low-intensity warfare marked by cyclical cross-border exchanges usually calmed by Egyptian-mediated ceasefires.

The IDF used similar ruses to conceal its plans before launching its three-week Gaza war in December 2008.

Days before that offensive began, Defense Minister Barak made an unusual and unannounced live appearance on a top-rated TV satire show, giving the impression that starting a war could not be further from his mind.

In another twist at the time, officers were summoned from garrisons around Gaza to a weekend with their families at a countryside spa. All but the most senior of those invited commanders were then surprised to be woken up, that Saturday morning, and sent back to base for combat within hours.

Were the Gaza missiles a  retaliation for Israel’s strike against Syria? It’s certainly a possibility.

Will President Barack Hussein Obama continue to defend our closest ally, or will he stand with the Muslims “should the political winds shift in an ugly direction”?

Considering Israel launched their attack on Syria after Obama’s re-election, I think Israel’s Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu knows exactly where Obama stands.

So, they threw the first punch.

BenghaziGate: “And, When We Get Behind Closed Doors…”

Regarding BenghaziGate, it appears some Moderate Republicans are growing a spine…and President Obama doesn’t like it one bit:

“Mr. President, don’t think for one minute I don’t hold you ultimately responsible for Benghazi. I think you failed as Commander in Chief before, during, and after the attack,” said Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican.

The exchange came after Mr. Graham and Sen. John McCain said they would try to block Ms. Rice if Mr. Obama tapped her to become secretary of state. They said she hasn’t done an exemplary job in her current post as ambassador to the U.N., and also said she has damaged her credibility because she inaccurately blamed the Sept. 11 terrorist attack in Benghazi on a mob protest.

Mr. Obama, in a press conference, angrily said his critics should instead go after him, and said Ms. Rice was only acting on behalf of the White House.

“She made an appearance at the request of the White House in which she gave her best understanding of the intelligence that had been provided to her. If Senator McCain and Senator Graham and others want to go after somebody, they should go after me,” he said. “And I’m happy to have that discussion with them. But for them to go after the U.N. ambassador, who had nothing to do with Benghazi and was simply making a presentation based on intelligence that she had received and to besmirch her reputation is outrageous.”

You mean, you actually want to discuss the fact that she, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Leon Panetta, and you, all lied to the world, by blaming the Muslim Riots in the Middle East, and the murder of 4 Americans at the Benghazi Consulate on a stupid  Youtube Video, which no one had ever seen?

Maybe, you were just upset that your former Director of the CIA, General David Petraeus, is going to be testify about the whole bloody mess, behind closed doors:

Gen. David Petraeus will testify before a House Committee on the Libya embassy attack Friday morning, despite the ongoing FBI investigation into an extramarital affair that led to his resignation as director of the CIA.

The hearing held by the Senate Intelligence Committee is closed to the public and the media. Petraeus is expected to answer questions about the CIA’s knowledge and handling of the assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi that left U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead. Two of those Americans were with the CIA.

It was unclear at first whether or not Petraeus would testify as planned, after he abruptly resigned from the agency amid news of his affair with biographer Broadwell. Five days ago, the Senate Intelligence Committee said the retired General would skip the hearing.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calf., said Wednesday that Petraeus “willing and interested” to talk to the committee, CBS News’ Stephanie Condon reported earlier Wednesday.

“It’s just on Benghazi. Our hearings are on Benghazi and the intelligence that preceded Benghazi and the intelligence that determined security,” she told reporters.

Congressional investigators get access to telegrams, intelligence reports, and classified emails as they interview top security and Pentagon officials. Sources tell CBS News’ Margaret Brennan that intelligence officials will show footage from an unmanned surveillance drone that was overhead during the assault.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee, which has oversight of the State Department, has already been briefed about the attack by Under Secretary Patrick Kennedy and Assistant Secretary for Diplomatic Security Eric Boswell.

Dr, Charles Krauthammer was on Special Report on Fox News the other day. He offered his insights on General Petraeus’ situation:

I think the really shocking news today was that General Petraeus thought and hoped he could keep his job. He thought it could be kept secret and that he would stay in his position. I think what that tells us is really important. It meant that he understood that the FBI obviously knew what was going on. He was hoping that those administration officials would not disclose what would happen and therefore hoping he would keep his job. And that meant that he understood that his job, his reputation, his legacy, his whole celebrated life was in the hands of the administration, and he expected they would protect him by keeping it quiet.

And that brings us to the ultimate I was, his testimony on September 13. That is the thing that connects the scandals and the only thing that makes the sex scandal relevant. Otherwise it would be exercise in sensationalism and voyeurism and nothing else.

The reason it is important is here a man who knows the administration holds his fate in his hands and he gives testimony completely at variance with what the secretary of defense had said the day before, at variance with what he heard from his station chief in Tripoli and with everything that we had heard. Was he influenced by the fact he knew his fate was held by people in the administration at that time?

Perhaps, the important question is: Is he going to man up, do the right thing, speak the truth and shame the Devil, concerning BenghaziGate? Or, is he going to keep his mouth shut and take one for the team?

Ambassador Chris Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, and Sean Smith remain unavailable for comment.

The GOP Pushes Amnesty. The Base Pushes Back.

The Republican Party has figured out why Mitt Romney lost the election. No, gentle reader, it’s not because some of us mean old Conservatives stayed home because Romney was a Moderate.

Nope. The Republican Brain Trust has decided that the reason Romney lost, is because Republicans haven’t bought into the fight for amnesty for illegal immigrants.

In fact, the GOP Elite have all declared that they’ve “evolved” on the issue.

“Evolved? ” Into what? A Democrat?

Gee Whiz, GOP. Just rename yourselves The Democratic Party II, and get it over with.

Victor Davis Hanson, writing for nationalreview.com, makes an excellent point:

Imagine, for a minute, that the Republican leadership did attempt to negotiate the “grand bargain,” a platitude as constantly voiced as it is never defined. If Republicans were willing to grant DREAM Act–like amnesty, what exactly would they ask for in exchange? The completion of the border fence? Employer fines? E-Verify? Deportation of millions of “unDREAM” illegal immigrants who do not meet the above criteria?

For all practical purposes, “comprehensive reform” means granting amnesty but also leaving the border fence uncompleted, having a guest-worker program, and issuing green cards to millions of illegal residents. If we were to deport the tens of thousands of Mexican nationals in our prisons, or the hundreds of thousands on some form of public assistance, does anyone believe that would win over the Latino leadership? The Reagan-era (1986) Simpson-Mazzoli Act (which required employers to verify immigration status, and which also amnestied about 3 million illegals) led to greater influxes from Mexico, did not stop calls for more amnesties, and certainly did not swell Latino support for Republicans.

Among most Mexican-Americans that I know there may have been just as much outrage at Romney for advocating legal immigration based on skills and education rather than family ties, as there was furor for his talk of “self-deportation.” Is it not hurtful (and seen as racist) to prefer that someone immigrate from Slovakia with an engineering degree and some capital rather than from Oaxaca with no money and without a high-school diploma? Under the present system, a Mexican national who is an unskilled worker can massage citizenship far more easily by virtue of ethnic clout and kindred ties to a Mexican-American than can a South Korean dentist or Greek doctor or Hungarian capitalist. Why would Mexican-Americans not favor such a system, and why would they not resent Republicans who advocated legal immigration based on higher education and specialized skills? Are the new Republican centrists to win the Latino vote by avoiding talk about basing legal immigration largely on criteria other than ethnic and family affiliations?

A couple of years back, the following allegorical story went viral.  You may have seen this already, but it explains illegal immigration as succinctly as anything I have come across:

Let’s pretend I broke into your house.  When you discover me there, you insist I leave.  But I say, “I’ve made all the beds, washed the dishes, did the laundry, and cleaned the floors; I’ve done all the work you don’t like to do. I’m hardworking and honest (except for breaking into your house). Not only must you let me stay, you must also add me to your insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide these benefits to my husband, too (he will do your yardwork, he’s honest and hardworking too–except for that breaking in part). If you try to force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house and proclaim my right to be there! It’s only fair, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I’m trying to better myself. I’m hardworking and honest…except for, well, you know. I will live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness and prejudice.

Oh yeah, I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me.

Good plan..don’t you think?

I understand that people want a better life for themselves and their children.  We are all immigrants in this land, expect for American Indians, and they got here by crossing the Bering Straight.  But there is a huge difference between immigrating here legally and sneaking in illegally, between assimilating into an existing culture, and insisting on replacing a country’s existing culture with that of the country you left.

Former Texas Democratic Representative Barbara Jordan was a big believer in assimilation. During her time on Capitol Hill, she chaired the US Commission on Immigration Reform.

In their 1997 Report, which they dedicated to Rep. Jordan, published after her passing, they wrote the following principles:

We believe these truths constitute the distinctive characteristics of American nationality:

*American unity depends upon a widely-held belief in the principles and values embodied in the American Constitution and their fulfillment in practice: equal protection and justice under the law; freedom of speech and religion; and representative government;

*Lawfully-admitted newcomers of any ancestral nationality—without regard to race, ethnicity, or religion—truly become Americans when they give allegiance to these principles and values;

*Ethnic and religious diversity based on personal freedom is compatible with national unity; and

*The nation is strengthened when those who live in it communicate effectively with each other in English, even as many persons retain or acquire the ability to communicate in other languages.

As long as we live by these principles and help newcomers to learn and practice them, we will continue to be a nation that benefits from substantial but well-regulated immigration.

Those principles have been abandoned, scorned, and sabotaged. You have not heard an iota about them from Washington. It is the erosion of Americanization and the ascendancy of the collectivists that helped create the conditions for Election Day.

I’m all for assisting anyone in becoming a legal citizen of the United States, if that is their wish.  But, it must be done the right way, and they must accept responsibility for their illegal entry, show a willingness to learn our language, and embrace our American way of life, including respecting the American Flag.

A wide-open Southern Border is as big a threat to the sovereignty of the United States as anything that our enemies can throw at us right now.  Republicans in the House and Senate, and in the Halls of Power in Washington, need to quit playing political games.  The safety of America is at stake .

The Democrats promised that the border would be secured, if Reagan signed off on Amnesty in 1986, and did not keep their end of the bargain.  GOP, what makes you believe that you can trust them in 2012?

Obama II: The Return of the Lyin’ King

One week ago today, the American people voted for a myth. No, I’m not talking about Santa Claus. Santa’s real.

I’m referring to the Manchurian President, Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm).

The past week, as Conservative Americans have been catching all kinds of H -E – Double Hockey Sticks from both the Democratic and Republican Parties, with suggestions that we have to “evolve” and become either Moderate squishes or full-blown Liberals, the whole country has been witness to the discovery of voting anomalies  such as 141% voting turnout in St. Lucie Country, Florida resulting in a recount in Rep. Allen West’s race.

And, yesterday, we heard that 59 precincts in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia, had no votes cast at all for Mitt Romney.

Weren’t these the areas that evicted Republican poll watchers, who, in turn had to get a court order, so that they could return to the polls and do their jobs?

Something smells…bad. Not just bad…downright evil.

And, then, there’s the little matter of “BenghaziGate”, which started out with the President of the United States lying in front of the American People, and, later the world, at the UN General Assembly, claiming that an anti-Muslim video, which no one had ever seen, was responsible for multiple uprisings across the Middle east, on a day, which just happened to be the 11th Anniversary of the worst (Islamic) Terrorist attack ever on American soil.

If you still believe, as the fellow who produces the morning news on the Memphis CBS affiliate evidently does, that an un-watched video caused the Muslim attacks in the Middle East on that day, then I have some used Sea Monkeys to sell you. (Trust me. They always float on top of the water like that.)

Now, what started out as a quadruple murder of Americans at the Benghazi Consulate has morphed from a bald-faced lie into a soap opera, with the abrupt and unexpected resignation of the Director of the CIA, General David Petraeus.

Patraeus, who had been married to his wife Holly for 37 years, has admitted to having an affair with Paul Broadwell, his biographer. Yesterday, we learned that the FBI had been investigating him and his paramour, but mysteriously stopped their probe 4 days before the election. They claimed that they were making sure that Petraeus did not start fooling around with Ms. Broadwell, until after he left the Military.

By the way, Ms. Boardwell actually wrecked two homes. She is/was married, and is the mother of 2.

What got the FBI involved in the first place, were threatening e-mails MS. Broadwell sent to another woman, telling her to leave “her man” alone. The female in question, Jill Kelley, a supporter of the Military from Florida, who along with her husband and family, has spent past Christmases with the General and Holly Petraeus.

We also found out that the initial agent, who started the probe, had become enamored of Ms. Kelley, and was sending shirtless pictures of his himself via e-mails to her. (It could have been worse. He could have done an Anthony Weiner impersonation.)

As an aside, my ex-father-in-law, a retired Memphis Police Lt, said that the initials “FBI” stood for ______ing Bunch of Idiots. You can use your imaginations to fill in the blank.

Also, last night, we learned that the FBI had conducted a search of Ms. Broadwell’s home. The reason? During the day yesterday, it was learned that Ms. Broadwell had reported that 2 Libyan Muslim Prisoners had been kept and interrogated at the Benghazi Consulate, which the CIA has denied…of course.

That might have had a little to do with the Terrorist raid on the Consulate, don’t you think, Mr. President?

The FBI was also very curious as to where she got her information on the comings and goings of high level Generals and other officials.

In a related matter,  General John Allen, the top American Commander in Afghanistan, who was revealed overnight to be under investigations for “inappropriate communications” with Jill Kelly.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave…

Also, word also came out yesterday, that Rep. Eric Cantor found out about the sordid affair, 2 weeks before Petraeus resigned. The story is, he sent an aide to tell Director Mueller of the FBI, but Hurricane Sandy somehow held up the information from getting through.(?)

Petraeus resigned just days away from an appearance on Capitol Hill, in front of a Senate Sub-committee investigating Benghazigate.  Michael Morell, the acting Director of the CIA, is scheduled to testify in his place, which does not please the folks up on Capitol Hill one bit.

With Secretary of State Clinton and President Obama both unavailable, due to trips out of the country (how convenient), it looks like, as I wrote yesterday, the Committee is getting the ol’ Washington Two-Step.

Y’know, if you read all the self-proclaimed political pundits on the internet, they all say that this soap opera will fizzle out eventually, that Americans are not interested in it, and that it really does not matter that 4 Americans were murdered in Benghazi.

Of course, these are some of the same opinionated individuals who say that “Social (Reagan) Conservatives are passe”, and, that we must “evolve”.

Funny, though. They also admonish those of us who follow Christ, telling us that we are busybodies, and, what goes on between consenting adults does not affect any one else.

Well…the General’s and Ms. Broadwell’s actions could affect our whole nation’s security.

BenghaziGate: The Ol’ Washington Two-Step

It appears that Congress is receiving the ol’ Washington two-step in their attempts to try to find out what really happened on 9/11/12 at the Benghazi Consulate Compound.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have questions for former CIA Director David H. Petraeus about the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, his recently disclosed extramarital affair and other issues — but their queries will have to wait for a later date.

Acting CIA Director Michael Morrell will testify Thursday in closed-door hearings of the Senate and House intelligence committees instead of Mr. Petraeus, who resigned abruptly last week after admitting he had an extramarital affair.

…Intelligence committee leaders will question Mr. Morrell and FBI Deputy Director Sean Joyce about Mr. Petraeus’ affair during meetings Wednesday, a day before the closed-door hearing at which Mr. Petraeus originally was scheduled to appear.

Congressional leaders indicated that they still might call on Mr. Petraeus to testify eventually.

“I would not rule out Gen. Petraeus being called to testify. That still could happen at some point in time,” Sen. Saxby Chambliss, Georgia Republican and vice chairman of the Senate intelligence committee, said on ABC’s “This Week.”

“I don’t see how in the world you can find out what happened in Benghazi before, during and after the attack if Gen. Petraeus doesn’t testify,” Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

One former senior congressional staffer, who asked for anonymity because of the sensitivity of current employers, told The Washington Times that Mr. Petraeus would be “duty-bound” to testify, even as a private citizen.

“He is still subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. He could be asked to testify as a former senior official, and if he refuses — which I don’t think he would — he could be subpoenaed,” said the staffer, who is the director of a House subcommittee.

Mr. Chambliss said that, in the meantime, it is “fine” for Mr. Morrell to testify in Mr. Petraeus’ place at Thursday’s classified hearing, along with Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and Matthew Olson, the head of the National Counterterrorism Center.

Mr. Morrell “certainly was there when all the decisions were made relative to Benghazi,” the senator said.

Mrs. Feinstein also ruled out any connection between Mr. Petraeus’ resignation and its postelection disclosure, and political fallout from the Benghazi incident. For several days after the attack, administration officials said it emerged from spontaneous protests, not terrorists.

There was “absolutely not” any connection to Benghazi, Mrs. Feinstein said. “And, I think if you really think this thing out, you will — everybody will come to that same conclusion.”

But Rep. Peter T. King, New York Republican and chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, told CNN’s “State of the Union” that the details leaked to the media so far do not makes sense to him.

“It seems this [investigation] has been going on for several months, and yet now it appears that they’re saying the FBI did not realize until Election Day that Gen. Petraeus was involved. It just doesn’t add up,” said Mr. King, who also is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. “I have real questions about this. I think the timeline has to be looked at.”

Okay…well, I guess they’ll just have to rely on Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s testimony.

Oh, wait:

…Clinton is reportedly scheduled to travel to Singapore, Australia, Thailand, Burma and Cambodia while the hearing will take place.

The Senate Intelligence Committee also plans to hold a closed-door hearing the same day, according to spokeswoman Victoria Nuland.

At a House hearing before the Nov. 6 elections, Republicans said President Barack Obama’s administration failed to provide adequate diplomatic security before the Benghazi attack and sought to play down the role of terrorists afterward. Democrats defended the administration’s performance and said Republicans were seeking to exploit the attack for political gain.

Clinton, meanwhile, vowed to keep good on her promise to increase security at U.S. diplomatic outposts.

“We now have a formal Accountability Review Board investigating the terrorist attack that killed Chris, and we will certainly apply its recommendations and lessons learned to improving security everywhere,” Clinton said during a tribute to Stevens at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington.

The issue is that the chairman of the Accountability Review Board, U.S. diplomat Thomas Pickering, has come under suspicion for being sympathetic to Islamist causes.

Meanwhile, author Ed Klein believes the Clintons are rallying their lawyers in the event the Secretary of State is subpoenaed. Some believe Clinton when she claimed that she did order additional security for the Benghazi compound and that the request had “not been carried out.”

With talk of Hillary Clinton stepping down from her post, it is possible that she may be more outspoken about the administration’s handling of the deadly terror attack come 2013.

And, this just broke wide open yesterday:

Paula Broadwell, the biographer revealed as the woman having a secret affair with the now-former CIA director, gave a talk at the University of Denver on Oct. 26 in which she appeared to reveal sensitive, maybe even classified, information about the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

The most interesting revelation is her claim that the CIA was holding several Libyan militia members prisoner, which may have prompted the attack. (Though she also sought to explain the Obama administration’s initial view that the attack was linked to the YouTube video Innocence of Muslims, an anti-Islam polemic that sparked riots across the Muslim world.)

She also said flatly that forces at the CIA annex had requested backup from a special Delta Force group she called the CINC’s in extremis force. It was not clear whether she was basing her comments on an Oct. 26 Fox News report by Jennifer Griffin, or whether her information came from elsewhere. (Griffin refers to it as “Commanders [sic] in Extremis Force,” but does not mention Delta Force or any Libyan prisoners.)

A CIA spokeswoman disputed the Fox News account at the time, saying, “no one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.” The agency later released a timeline of that evening’s events that cast doubt on Griffin’s story.

In any case, Broadwell’s remarks, which were first reported by Arutz Sheva, are obviously very interesting in light of this week’s big news, as well as the Wall Street Journal’s revelation that the FBI found that Broadwell was in possession of classified documents (though she was never charged with any crime).

Her comments came in response to a questioner who asked her to comment on Petraeus’s handling of the events in Libya.

With this new information leaked by Miss Broadwell, it’s imperative that someone in the Administration needs to speak to the Senate Committee concerning that horrible evening in Benghazi.

I have an idea: Why don’t they ask the president to stop by before he heads out for his upcoming trip to Asia , scheduled for November 17th?

And, if that doesn’t work with his schedule (he likes to sleep in, you know), he could speak directly to the American people, who deserve to know the truth.

Of course, that is about as likely to happen as Obama making a guest appearance at a Gaither Concert.
