Waiting until the ninth hour, before the guillotine known as the Midterm Elections severely cramps the plans of the New Aristocracy, Sir Harry Reid the Dinghy has scheduled a Senate vote for this Saturday on the 1.1 trillion dollar earmark-laden Omnibus Bill. Funding for the Federal Government and all of its bureaucracy will expire Saturday if nothing is done.

The Democrats have the overwhelming majority of earmarks within the bill. However, Republicans are not entirely blameless, as Cornyn and Thune, along with others, have contributed earmarks to this monstrosity. Even worse, outgoing RINOs such as Bob Bennett have said that they will vote for the Omnibus Bill.

Bitter, Bob?

Both House and Senate Republicans want Congress to extend last year’s budget only for a few months. That would allow them to try to enact the deep spending cuts they have promised.

While the Dems are trying to cram this spending bill down our throats, the deal allowing for an extension of the Bush Tax Cuts is still waiting for passage by the House.  The Senate has already passed the $853 billion legislation by an overwhelming 81-19 margin.

Barack Hussein Obama the First has told members of Congress that failure to pass the tax-cut legislation could result in the end of his presidency, according to Rep. Peter DeFazio (Ore.).

God willing.

He told CNN’s Elliot Spitzer, otherwise know as Client #9:

The White House is putting on tremendous pressure, making phone calls, the president is making phone calls saying this is the end of his presidency if he doesn’t get this bad deal.

White House spokesman Tony Vietor said Unh-Unh. No, he di’nt:

The president hasn’t said anything remotely like that and has never spoken with Mr. DeFazio about the issue.

Obama reportedly told Democrats the very same thing last year in order to get them to pass Obamacare without the public option.

According to the experts, the likelihood of the deal failing is very low at this point.

DeFazio thinks Scooter’s wrong about the possibility of a second term:

I don’t feel that way — I think this is potentially the end of his possibility of being reelected if he gets this deal.

Also on the Democrats’ agenda between now and Saturday is the controversial Defense Bill, the START Treaty.

Sir Harry Reid the Dinghy of the fiefdom of Nevada said yesterday:

We’ll see how things go with this treaty, but it’s clear — I have spoken on many occasions with the Republican leader — we’re going to be in session this Sunday. There is work to do.

Translation: I made a lot of promises to the Labor Unions and others in order to get re-elected. I’m dead meat if I don’t get something done.

Reid also wants to try to hold a vote on the House-passed version of the DREAM Act, which is nothing more than an amnesty bill, designed to manufacture new Democrat voters.

We hope that we can complete what we have to do here a day or two after Saturday. When we complete the things that I have just mentioned, we’re going to have to have a vote on the DREAM Act.

Reid has also threatened to make the Senate return to Washington between Christmas and Jan. 4 to continue the Democrats unwanted and self-serving legislative agenda.

Is it any wonder that gallup.com has reported the following?

Americans’ assessment of Congress has hit a new low, with 13% saying they approve of the way Congress is handling its job. The 83% disapproval rating is also the worst Gallup has measured in more than 30 years of tracking congressional job performance.

From the beginning of the 2008 Presidential campaign when Democrat Candidate Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) said this:

…it has been quite apparent that he views himself as some sort of aristocrat.  Along with his fellow aristocrats, Sir Harry Reid the Dinghy and Dame Nancy Pelosi the Ditzy, they have made a science of ignoring the wishes of the majority of the American people  and passing unwanted self-serving legislation, designed to benefit no one but the special interest groups to whom they owe their present political positions.

The 2010 Midterm Elections was, in fact, a revolution.  It was a groundswell effort that took the day.  The Tea Party movement  accomplished what the Beltway Elite Republicans could not.  Average Americans, outraged by being treated like peasants by this imperious new aristocracy, rose up, not with pitchforks and torches, but with words and deeds.  We voted the rascals out.

So, before this new aristocracy has to exist within the restraints put upon them by the people that they are supposed to be serving, they are trying to cram everything they can through the legislative pipeline, in a desperate attempt to usurp the will of the American people.

As a friend said to me last night, all this is accomplishing is to make the Democrats look foolish.

The problem for the Democrats and any Vichy Republicans that may aid them in their nefarious plans, is the fact that the sleeping giant that exercised his wrath on November 2nd is still awake…and November 2012 is looming.

Harry Reid and his collection of Daycare rejects, known as the Senate Democrats, yesterday released a 1,900 page, $1.1 trillion budget Omnibus bill proposal.  Mitch McConnell and Republican leaders are opposed to the measure due to its size, cost and the nonexistent time for debate.

The Senate Minority Leader said he would rather pass a short-term spending patch to fund the government instead of jamming through the omnibus bill before Christmas. Although there had been some bi-partisan co-operation in drafting the bill, Tuesday was the first time that most policymakers saw the finished product.

Dinghy Leader Harry Reid said yesterday that he wants it passed before the next Congress begins on Jan. 5.

I’ll bet he does. Coward.

McConnell compared the effort by Senate Democrats to pass the bill over the next few weeks to the underhanded garbage used to get the health care bill on the Senate floor on Christmas Eve last year.  He called for a Continuing Resolution that will fund the government until February in order to allow more time to actually find out what is in this enormous omnibus spending bill next year.

Anybody out there feeling a sense of Deja Vu? Who could forget Obamacare? Is under the cover of darkness the only way the Democrats can hope to complete their nefarious plans? You betcha.

The Senate Minority Leader feels the same way:

Where we are is eerily reminiscent of last year. It was December. There was either snow on the ground or snow was on the way. And all of a sudden we had, in that case a 2,700 page bill that no one had seen, and we were trying to jam it through the Senate. Fast forward a year. It’s cold outside. Snow is on the way. And we have another, in this case, almost 2,000 page bill that no one has seen, at least on my side of the aisle.

Per C-Span’s Congressional Glossary:

An OMNIBUS BILL packages together several measures into one or combines diverse subjects into a single bill. Examples are reconciliation bills, combined appropriations bills, and private relief and claims bills.

An annual event, the omnibus bill supposedly provides funding for all parts of the federal budget. If short-term measures to fund the government aren’t passed, the government could shutdown.

McConnell says so what?

This bill should not go forward. It’s completely and totally inappropriate to wrap all of this up into a 2,000 bill and try to pass this a week before Christmas.

The usual Senate RINOs are claiming to support the bill.

Incoming House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio wants the Senate Democrats to stand down:

This bill represents exactly what the American people have rejected: more spending, more earmarks, and more big government. Republicans strongly oppose this last-ditch spending spree, a smack in the face to taxpayers at a time when we’re borrowing 40 cents of every dollar we spend. Instead of making reckless spending decisions in the waning days of the lame-duck session, Senate Democrats should stand down so we can get to work on cleaning up Washington’s fiscal mess.

As reported on drudgereport.com, Sen. John McCain stood on the Senate floor and blew the whistle on the Dems . He said:

In the short time I’ve had to review this massive piece of legislation – I’ve identified approximately 6,488 earmarks totaling nearly $8.3 billion. Here is a small sample:

• $277,000 for potato pest management in Wisconsin
• $246,000 for bovine tuberculosis in Michigan and Minnesota
• $522,000 for cranberry and blueberry disease and breeding in New Jersey
• $500,000 for oyster safety in Florida
• $349,000 for swine waste management in North Carolina
• $413,000 for peanut research in Alabama
• $247,000 for virus free wine grapes in Washington
• $208,000 beaver management in North Carolina
• $94,000 for blackbird management in Louisiana
• $165,000 for maple syrup research in Vermont
• $235,000 for noxious weed management in Nevada
• $100,000 for the Edgar Allen Poe Cottage Visitor’s Center in New York
• $300,000 for the Polynesian Voyaging Society in Hawaii
• $400,000 for solar parking canopies and plug-in electric stations in Kansas

Additionally, the bill earmarks $727,000 to compensate ranchers in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan whenever endangered wolves eat their cattle. As my colleagues know, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Gray Wolf program is under intense scrutiny for wasting millions of taxpayer dollars every year to ‘recover’ endangered wolves that are now overpopulating the West and Midwest. My State of Arizona has a similar wolf program but ranchers in my state aren’t getting $727,000 in this bill.

It’s nice to see ol’ Maverick man up and tell it like it is. 

There needs to be more of this from the Republican Senators in regards to this Christmas president that the Cowardly Dems seem determined to give to themselves, regardless of how the country feels about it.

The Democratic Party, from Obama on down, seem to have embraced denial, as to what exactly happened on November 2nd, 2011.  Somehow,using their own unique pretzel logic, they have intentionally misconstrued the Midterm results to mean that Americans want them to double down on their Progressive Schemes.  What’s equally as bad, is the reaction of the Beltway Elite Republicans, who see the election as an affirmation to continue their backroom dealing.

To those in Washington who think that the results of the Midterms mean that you can continue ignoring the wishes of the American people, a word of warning:  I hope y’all have a trade you can fall back on after November 2012.  Politics as usual just ain’t gonna cut it. 

On Thursday, October 21st, 2010,  a reporter with CNS asked Nancy Pelosi about the Constitutionality of  Obamacare’s individual mandate requiring all Americans to buy health insurance or face a modest fine.  Here’s the audio of her reply:

Even if San Fran Nan thought that the question of the individual mandate’s constitutionality was a joke, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson in Richmond, Virginia, sure didn’t.

Judge Hudson ruled yesterday that the mandate requiring all Americans to purchase health insurance in President Barack Hussein Obama’s sweeping socialization of the American Healthcare System goes beyond Congress’s powers to regulate interstate commerce.  Hudson took out the mandate from the rest of the legislation, which is set to become effective in 2014.

In his ruling, Hudson said:

At its core, this dispute is not simply about regulating the business of insurance — or crafting a scheme of universal health insurance coverage — it’s about an individual’s right to choose to participate.

The ruling is the first loss for the Obama adminstration in a series of challenges to the law scheduled for federal courts in Virginia, Michigan and Florida, where 20states have joined an effort to have the statute thrown out.

According to Constitutional scholars, unless Congress changes the law, its fate will be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.

The suit against the Obama Administration was brought by Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.  His office has already talked to Justice Department attorneys about bypassing the appeals court and going straight to the SCOTUS.  The Justice Department had no comment.

I’ll bet.

Cuccinelli said:

This is only round one. This lawsuit is not about health-care, it’s about liberty.

Incoming House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) agrees with Cucinelli:

Today’s ruling is a clear affirmation that President Obama’s health care law is unconstitutional. The efforts of Governor McDonnell and Attorney General Cuccinelli have raised legitimate concerns and ensured that the people of the Commonwealth will have their rights protected against this unconstitutional law. Ultimately, we must ensure that no American will be forced by the federal government to purchase health insurance they may not need, want, or be able to afford.

To ensure an expedited process moving forward, I call on President Obama and Attorney General Holder to join Attorney General Cuccinelli in requesting that this case be sent directly to the U.S. Supreme Court. In this challenging environment, we must not burden our states, employers, and families with the costs and uncertainty created by this unconstitutional law, and we must take all steps to resolve this issue immediately.

Cantor has also promised that the new House will pass “a clean repeal of ObamaCare” once the Republicans take over in January.

In a 42-page opinion, Hudson wrote that the

…unchecked expansion of congressional power represented by the insurance requirement would invite unbridled exercise of federal police powers. No Supreme Court decision has authorized Congress to compel an individual to involuntarily enter the stream of commerce by purchasing a commodity in the private market.

White House Press Secretary Baghdad Bob Gibbs said at the daily press briefing that the administration still believes the legislation is constitutional.

I’m shocked.

Gibbs said:

One hundred and fifteen miles away, a different judge in a different district rendered a different decision.

Gibbs was citing a Nov. 30 ruling by Clinton-appointed U.S. District Judge Norman Moon, in Lynchburg, Virginia. He sided with the Obama administration in a lawsuit brought by Liberty University and five individuals. U.S. District Judge George Caram Steeh in Michigan, another Clinton appointee, also sided with the government.

According to Gibbs:

Our belief is that when all the legal wrangling is done, this is something that will be upheld.

…Regardless of how the majority of Americans feel about this horrible legislation.

According to an ABC News/Washington Post poll released yesterday, the majority of Americans want nothing to do with Obamacare.

52 percent of those surveyed oppose Obamacare, 43 percent are for it. 86 percent of Republicans are against the legislation; 67 percent of Democrats support it. Independents divide down the middle, with 47 percent in favor and the same number opposed.

59 percent of those opposed to Obamacare want the law repealed. Only 38 percent want to “wait and see”.   Additionally, those who want this Obamanation tossed out are split about evenly between putting the whole thing in the circular file (29 percent) and just tossing out parts of the law (30 percent).

We all remember when the soon-to-be former Speaker of the House laid this little gem on us:

Evidently,  Judge Hudson and the American people have found out what’s in Obamacare…an attack on our Constitutional freedom.  If you have any doubts, please reference November 2nd, 2010 for a clarification of America’s feelings on this issue.

What a difference two years can make.  Remember how excited all the Dems, Libs, Progressives, and Jack Black lookalike Nutroot Bloggers living in their Moms’ basements were about their new messiah?

Apollo Alliance exerts a powerful influence on the views and policies of the Obama administration. AA helped craft portions of the $787 billion “stimulus” legislation (officially called the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) that President Obama signed into law in early 2009. Specifically, AA had a hand in writing the “clean energy and green-collar jobs provisions” of the bill, for which $86 billion was earmarked. This included funds “to build new transit and high speed rail lines, weatherize homes, develop next generation batteries for clean vehicles, scale up wind and solar power, build a modern electric grid, and train a new generation of green-collar workers.” AA recommended that the stimulus bill allocate $11 billion for the development of a so-called “Smart Grid,” which would use digital technology to deliver electricity from suppliers to consumers; ultimately the bill allocated precisely that amount to Smart Grid-related projects, including a $100 million provision for job training related to Smart Grid technology.

Confirming the magnitude of AA’s role in shaping the stimulus bill, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said in mid-2009: “The Apollo Alliance has been an important factor in helping us [the U.S. Senate] develop and execute a strategy that makes great progress on these goals and in motivating the public to support them.”

And, of course, there was Obamacare.  The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has concluded that ObamaCare will cost at least $115 billion more than it originally estimated.    This brings the total cost to over 1 trillion dollars, not less than 1 trillion, as was promised by Obama and the administration before the bill was passed.

Last week was a circus which accomplished nothing for the Dems, except to make them look ridiculous.  In fact, the highlight of the week was Obama giving up the podium at an impromptu press conference to Former President Bill Clinton, because he had to attend a party. 

What Washington needs is adult supervision.

President Barack Hussein Obama (Scooter) and former President William Jefferson Clinton (Bubba) held an impromptu press conference after their private meeting Friday afternoon in which  Bubba endorsed Scooter’s proposed tax deal.

That’s not all that Clinton did.  As the late, great Paul Harvey used to say:

And now, you’re going to hear…the rest of the story.

Bubba grabbed ahold of that podium and wouldn’t let go, like he was snuggling with Monica.

A slack-jawed press corps watched as Bubba took a painfully slow Friday Afternoon and turned it into Elvis at the Las Vegas Hilton.

For a half-hour yesterday, it was like America rode in Prof. Emmett Brown’s DeLorean back to the 90s.  Clinton lectured about economics and nuclear arms.  He bit his lip and fielded questions flawlessly, like Elmer Gantry firing up a bunch of believers in a tent revival…and all without a teleprompter.

Here’s the way this slice of American History happened:  After their private meeting Friday Afternoon, Obama and Clinton decided that it would be a great idea to hold a presser. The only problem was, the door was locked to the briefing room. They couldn’t get in. The Press Staff were at their annual holiday party in the Executive Mansion.

Scooter went to a press aide and asked her if she knew how to open up the press room. White House Press Secretary Baghdad Bob Gibbs heard a familiar voice outside his office.  He came out and asked Obama and Clinton:

What are you guys up to?

They said:

We’re looking for some reporters.

And that’s how it happened. The reporters came running from their party, little knowing what was in store for them.

Scooter introduced Bubba as “the other guy” and lauded Clinton for his leadership through tough economic times in the 90s.  Then, Scooter explained that he wouldn’t be staying long — another White House Christmas party was waiting, as was his wife, Michelle (ma belle).

Apparently, for Obama,  Michelle’s wrath takes precedence over his subjects, errr, I mean the American public.

It was then that Bubba took over.

He said:

I feel awkward being here, and now you’re going to leave me all by myself.

Yeah, right.  About as awkward as a Mississippi hawk about to swoop down and grab a field mouse.

Bubba went on to detail the proposed plan, including Obama’s compromise on the wealthy’s tax rates:

There’s never a perfect bipartisan bill in the eyes of a partisan. But I really believe this will be a significant net-plus for the country.

At the end of what turned out to be his opening remarks, Bubba said:

So, for whatever it’s worth, that’s what I think.

Scooter chimed in, saying:

It’s worth a lot.

Bubba was asked what advice he had for Scooter, who is now in a similar situation to the one Clinton was in after the Midterms of 1994. Clinton said:

I have a general rule. Which is that whatever he asked me about my advice, and whatever I say should become public only if he decides to make it public.

Obama decided not to. Instead, he left, saying:

I’ve been keeping the First Lady waiting for about half an hour, so I’m going to take off.

Scooter then left the management of the Press Conference in the capable hands of Baghdad Bob Gibbs.

That was all the opening that Bubba needed.

Gibbs watched helplessly as the former president pontificated about subjects like credit markets, Haiti, principled compromise, and structural deficits.

Someone asked Bubba if he was happier being there as a guest than he was during his time as president.  He replied:

Oh, I had quite a good time governing.  I am happy to be here, I suppose, when the bullets that are fired are unlikely to hit me.

All Gibbs could manage to mumble when the show was done was:

It was as spontaneous as it could be.

Translation: I can’t believe that he just showed up Obama.

Heck, Bob.  It doesn’t take much.

I have seen Obama do a lot of less-than-presidential things in the past looong two years, but, this was remarkable.  Do he and his minions understand just what kind of message he sent yesterday afternoon?

To the people of America, he sent the message that a White House social event was more important than a discussion of the looming guillotine blade that is hanging over the heads of every single American taxpayer, scheduled to drop on January 1, 2011, unless we receive a reprieve by the representatives we elected to serve us.

To our enemies, he sent a message of weakness and immaturity.  Somewhere, in their dark, dank caves, our enemies are watching their satellite TVs, emboldened in the knowledge that this American President either can’t handle or chooses to not give the appropriate priority to, issues affecting the domestic well-being of his country.  The only thing barbarians understand is strength….and this president showed none of that by walking away from that press conference yesterday. 

Petulance, yes.  Strength, no.

For Conservative news junkies, yesterday was as much fun as a front row seat at the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus.

The House Democratic Caucus on Thursday held a non-binding vote, rejecting the tax deal negotiated between the White House and Senate Republicans.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) issued a brief statement after the vote, saying:

We will continue discussions with the President and our Democratic and Republican colleagues in the days ahead to improve the proposal before it comes to the House floor for a vote

Democratic priorities remain clear: to provide a tax cut for working families, to create jobs and economic growth, to assist millions of our fellow Americans who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own, and to do this in a fiscally sound way.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said the president is confident Congress will approve the tax package despite its rejection by House Democrats. “At the end of the day” the bill will pass both houses, Gibbs said at his daily press briefing.

According to Baghdad Bob:

If everybody took out what they didn’t like, we would have nothing.  And we know the consequences of doing nothing.

It’s usually a good thing to have confidence and trust…except when it’s misplaced.

America’s elected representatives in the Democratic Caucus’ meeting had some choice words for their former messiah.

According to Rep. Shelly Berkley,(D. – Nevada) one anonymous lawmaker muttered “f— the president” while Berkley was defending the president’s proposal.  Berkley declined to name the specific lawmaker.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler (N.Y.), frequently seen on Fox News, was also overheard saying that “we can’t trust him” not to cave to Republicans and extend the tax cuts again in two years.

Chants of “Just say no!” could be heard by reporters outside the room.

Meanwhile, over in the Senate Chambers…

Harry Reid and his minions shelved a vote on the Dream Act, legislation designed to create a path to legal status for the children of illegal immigrants.

The bill would give hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children a chance to gain legal status if they enroll in college or join the military.

It would apply to illegal immigrants brought to the United States before the age of 16, who have been here for five years and graduated from high school or gained an equivalency degree.

Harry Reid and the Dems came up short of the 60 votes they needed and that situation will not change anytime soon.

The House passed it Wednesday night after Democratic leaders had a hard time getting together enough to push it through.  Just eight Republicans joined Democrats to support it while almost 40 Democrats voted “no”.

The problem Harry had in the Senate, besides the fact that Dems realize that 2012 is coming, is the fact that all 42 Senate Republicans have signed a letter pledging to block action on any issue until bills to extend expiring tax cuts and fund the government were completed.

The White House approved of the shelving.  Issuing a statement though Gibbs, the adminstration said that the Dream Act is “the right thing to do for our nation, our economy and our security.”

The Republicans have a different opinion, according to Sen. John Cornyn of Texas:

We have to demonstrate that we are serious about fixing our broken immigration system, we have to secure the border, we have to enforce our laws, and then I think the natural compassion of the American people will kick in, and they’ll let us deal with these sympathetic situations like these kids who are not culpable, but were brought here by their parents and find themselves at a dead-end.

Sen. Harry Reid’s very bad day continued yesterday as he failed to get the necessary 60 votes for a procedural motion to start considering the 2011 defense authorization bill, which just happened to contain a provision to repeal the ban on openly gay people serving in the military. The final vote was 57-40.

But shortly after the vote, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) said he would introduce a free-standing bill to repeal the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy as soon as next Thursday. Vichy Republican Susan Collins (Maine) will join Lieberman in introducing the bill.

 I’m shocked.

Lieberman said that Reid agreed to bring legislation to the floor and that he would introduce it as soon as Thursday. The language would mirror the language in the defense authorization bill.

Armed Services Chairman Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) issued a statement, which said:

I am 100 percent supportive of the stand-alone bill to repeal ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ that Sens. Lieberman and Collins have now proposed, and indeed I will co-sponsor that legislation. It is time for this discriminatory policy to end, and I am willing to pursue any effective legislative path that could lead to that result.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)agrees:

Since the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ has broad support among Senators, our troops, and the American people, it is my hope that the Senate will move forward with an alternative legislative method. The bipartisan proposal from Senators Lieberman and Collins provides renewed hope that progress is still possible in the Senate; an army of allies stands ready in the House to pass a standalone repeal of the discriminatory policy once the Senate acts.

Obama, of course, issued a statement saying he was “extremely disappointed that yet another filibuster has prevented the Senate from moving forward” on the legislation. He also sent out some gratuitous praise:

I want to thank Majority Leader Reid, Armed Services Committee Chairman Levin, and Senators Lieberman and Collins for all the work they have done on this bill. While today’s vote was disappointing, it must not be the end of our efforts. I urge the Senate to revisit these important issues during the lame duck session.

I wonder how his Muslim supporters feel about this?

Yesterday was nothing short of an epic meltdown for the Democrat Party.  As John Steinbeck said, in his classic novel “Of Mice and Men”:

The best laid plans of mice and men oft go awry.

And, sometimes,  that’s a good thing.  Pass the popcorn.

The creator of the television series, The West Wing,  Aaron Sorkin, who also wrote the recent movie about the creation of Facebook, The Social Network, proclaimed yesterday in an article found at guardian.co.uk.com, that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s hit television reality series , which highlights her and her family’s outdoor adventures in their home state, is nothing but a snuff film. His remarks were prompted by last Sunday’s episode , in which Gov. Palin went hunting with her Dad and shot and killed a caribou.

Oh, the humanity.

According to Sorkin, Palin shot the animal “for political gain”.

Why, was the animal a Progressive?

Sorkin went on to describe Gov. Palin as “deranged”, a “witless bully” and a “phony pioneer girl”. He also said The Learning Channel, which airs the program, “should be ashamed of itself” for broadcasting her “truly awful reality show”.

So, you 3.5 million viewers who watch every week should truly be ashamed of yourselves. Shame, shame.

Sorkin got his knickers in a twist over the former governor’s Facebook reply to critics of Sunday’s episode, in which she wrote:

Unless you’ve never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather chair or eaten meat, save your condemnation.

Sorkin wrote in an article for the Soros-funded huffingtonpost.com that:

I eat meat, chicken and fish, have shoes and furniture made of leather … I’m able to make a distinction between you and me without feeling the least bit hypocritical.

I don’t watch snuff films and you make them. You weren’t killing that animal for food or shelter or even fashion, you were killing it for fun. You enjoy killing animals

And you didn’t just do it for fun and you didn’t just do it for money. That was the first moose [sic] ever murdered for political gain. You knew there’d be a protest from Peta and you knew that would be an opportunity to hate on some people, you witless bully. What a uniter you’d be – bringing the right together with the far right.

Sorkin went on to state that Gov. Palin was just like Michael Vick, who recently served time for participating in a dog-fighting gambling ring.

Hackers in London, believed by Gov. Palin and her team to be affiliated with “Operation Payback”,a group of supporters of Julian Assange and Wikileaks,have tried to shut down SarahPac, her Political Action Committee, and have disrupted Sarah and Todd Palin’s personal credit card accounts.

In an e-mail sent to ABC News, the former Governor expressed her disgust:

No wonder others are keeping silent about Assange’s antics. This is what happens when you exercise the First Amendment and speak against his sick, un-American espionage efforts.

Gov. Palin wrote the following on Facebook about Wikileaks founder and accused rapist Julian “girly man” Assange:

…[his]past posting of classified documents revealed the identity of more than 100 Afghan sources to the Taliban. Why was he not pursued with the same urgency we pursue al-Qaeda and Taliban leaders?…Assange is not a ‘journalist’ any more than the ‘editor’ of al-Qaeda’s new English-language magazine Inspire is a ‘journalist.’ He is an anti-American operative with blood on his hands.

According to what Activist/Nutroot Gregg Housh told the New York Times:

…1,500 people were on online forums and chatrooms including Anonops.net, mounting mass and repeated ‘denial of service’ attacks on sites that have moved against Mr. Assange and WikiLeaks in recent days.

A cached page from Anonops.net reveals Palin’s site to be a suggested target.

How…brave.

Per a SarahPAC.com technical aide:

The “DOS attackers, a group loosely known as Anon_Ops, used a tool called LOIC (Lower Orbit Ion Cannon) to flood sarahpac.com. The attackers wanted us to know that they were affiliated with wikileaks.org through an obscure message in our server log file.

According to SarahPAC’s Rebecca Mansour, an employee called Todd Palin Wednesday afternoon and told him that his and his wife’s account had been compromised and that a company in London was involved.

It is still not clear, per Jake Tapper, whether the attack to the Palins’ credit card account today was related to the attack on her website.

Mansour says the Gov. Palin knows full well the reasons for the craven attack:

The governor voiced her opinion knowing full well that she was speaking out against a shady disreputable organization with no regard for laws or human life. This is how they operate. The world should not be intimidated by them.

Mansour also said that Wikileaks supporters claim to be “in favor of free speech yet they attack Sarah Palin for exercising her free speech.”

In my research for this post, I found out that their website is down, but, per Jake Tapper, Anon_Ops describes itself as an “anonymous, decentralized movement which fights against censorship and copywrong.” It has enlisted volunteers to “create counter-propaganda, organizing attacks (DDoS) on various targets related to censorship (time, date and target will be published by that time).”

Censorship?  Isn’t that what they ‘re trying to do to Gov. Palin?  For that matter, isn’t that what the whole dadblamed Progressive movement, with the help of the Beltway Elite Republicans, are trying to do with their vicious attacks on her?

Being a simple guy, I have a simple question, why just attack Sarah Palin?  Why aren’t you guys attacking Mitt Romney, the other “so-called” Republican front-runner?

By the way, has he endorsed anyone in the Midterm Elections, yet?

President Barack Hussein Obama did something yesterday that he hasn’t done that often since ascending to the Throne of the Regime two years ago.

 No, not act presidential. We’re still waiting on that. 

He held a Press Conference,, trying to defend his proposed Tax Cut Compromise in the face of growing opposition for his Nutroot base and the Democrat Party.

While many Republican Party Leaders seem to be fine with the proposed framework of a deal, if is not known how many Democrats will join them. Especially in the House of Representatives, where San Fran Nan continues to pound her mighty gavel.

Democrats are crushed that Scooter has gone back on his promise to do away with the Tax Cuts for the “Wealthy”.

You remember them, the people who actually hire Americans?

Still looking like he had swallowed a big mouthful of yellow Triaminic cough syrup, Obama tried to explain to the Far Left what his rationale was in proposing the compromise.

During the 35 minute speech, he called those Libs seeking ideological purity sanctimonious.

And, how is your view from that Glass House, Mr. President?

All in all, officials said, the plan could increase federal borrowing by $900 billion.

The lower estate tax emerged as the biggest obstacle among many House Democrats. Pelosi called it “a bridge too far.”

If the tax cuts are not retained, Americans will face the biggest tax hike in our history, beginning on January 1, 2011.

Democrats, while living in their parallel universe, have dropped hints that they wanted more concessions thrown their way before they would act to complete the deal.

According to Senator Harry Reid:

We’re going to have to do some more work.

Rep. Anthony Weiner doesn’t like it at all:

I don’t think that the president should count on Democratic votes to get this deal passed. It’s a bad deal that wasn’t skillfully negotiated.

Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., chimed in:

It seems to me this Congress should not be adding substantially to the deficit.

According to Democratic staff members, more than half of House Democrats are opposed to the compromise plan.

Lib heads are exploding all over the place.   AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka said:

It lauds the tax cuts for the top 2 percent with an indefensible cut in the estate tax — giving yet another bonus to the super-rich. It is unconscionable that the price of support for struggling middle class families and workers who have been unable to find jobs for months and months and months is yet more giveaways for our country’s wealthiest families.

The Soros-funded group MoveOn said its 5 million members oppose the tax plan:

The president’s commitment to bipartisanship should not mean leaving principles behind.

Principles?  That’s pretty funny, considering the source and it’s covert mission and funding.

Per discoverthenetworks.org:

Today, MoveOn boasts an e-mail list of more than 3.2 million members. Its ten full-time staffers work from home, staying in touch via e-mail, instant messaging and weekly conference calls.

MoveOn uses its fundraising clout to push the Democratic Party to the left. This game plan was enunciated most clearly in an e-mail that MoveOn PAC Director Eli Pariser broadcast to the group’s financial supporters on December 9, 2004. Regarding MoveOn’s role in the Democratic Party, Pariser wrote, “For years, the party has been led by elite Washington insiders who are closer to corporate lobbyists than they are to the Democratic base. But we can’t afford four more years of leadership by a consulting class of professional election losers. In the last year, grass-roots contributors like us gave more than $300 million to the Kerry campaign and the DNC, and proved that the party doesn’t need corporate cash to be competitive. Now it’s our party: we bought it, we own it, and we’re going to take it back.”

…MoveOn has received financial support from numerous leftist organizations, including the Tides Foundation, the Shefa Fund, the Stern Family Fund, the Steven and Michelle Kirsch Foundation, the Compton Foundation, and George Soros’s Open Society Institute. Following a September 17, 2003 meeting between Soros and Boyd in New York, Soros and his associates gave nearly $6.2 million to MoveOn over a period of six months. The contributions included $2.5 million from George Soros personally; $2.5 million from Peter B. Lewis of Progressive Insurance; $971,427 from Stephen Bing of Shangri-La Entertainment; $100,000 from Benson & Hedges tobacco heir Lewis Cullman; and $101,000 from Soros’ 34-year-old son Jonathan Soros, an attorney and financier recently promoted to deputy manager of Soros Fund Management LLC.

As I stated yesterday, it appears that, by presenting this compromise, Obama is trying to expand his voter base beyond the 35 year old Jack Black lookalikes posting liberal Bogs from their Mom’s basement.

His problem is, that after two years of cramming his own socialist ideology down Americans’ throats, for him to unveil this tax cut compromise at the ninth hour, appears to be an act of desperation.  Conservatives and Independents don’t trust him.  And the people who have built him up as  their messiah, the Nutroot base and his own political party, are grief-stricken and disillusioned to the point of near-riotous anger.

Sho’ ’nuff hate it for them.  Pass the popcorn.

President Barack Hussein Obama stood at the podium around 5:30 p.m. Central yesterday. He looked as if he had just swallowed some yellow Triaminic cough syrup.  He was announcing a proposal for a compromise, or a framework for a bipartisan agreement, as he called it, with Republicans in Congress on a broad tax package that would extend the Bush-era income tax cuts for two years, reduce worker payroll taxes for one year and would call for more favorable treatment to business investments.

The deal also includes a temporary reinstatement of the estate tax at 35%, as well as a 13-month extension of jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed.

Obama is between a rock and a hard place.  His poll numbers continue to plunge into the abyss.  And, if something is not done immediately, the current tax levels signed into law by President George W. Bush will expire on Dec. 31.  That means that tax rates on all Americans who pay income taxes will rise on Jan. 1, which, in turn, would immediately affect economic growth and holiday sales.

By making the deal, Scooter has torqued off a lot of his base, including his Congressional minions, who disagreed with the move in a meeting before the announcement with the President and Vice-President, according to a House aide.

Rep. John Conyers (D., Mich.) said:

I can tell you with certainty that legislative blackmail of this kind by the Republicans will be vehemently opposed by many, if not most, Democrats.

In the Senate, Tom Harkin (D., Iowa) called it “an understatement” to say he was disappointed.

The reaction on Liberal blogs reminded me of this scene from Star Wars:

Now, Obama will have to try to suck up to Republicans in order to move this deal through, because the Dems ain’t buying what he’s selling.

Hey, Dems!  Welcome to the party, pal!

Republican leaders are diggin’ this.   House Republican Whip Eric Cantor released a statement which said:

No one gets everything they want in a deal, but our top priority is to restore certainty to the private sector so that businesses small and large can start hiring again.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell also lauded the deal and instructed the Congressional Democrats to

show the same openness to preventing tax hikes the administration has already shown.

Americans could tell that Obama was having to swallow hard to choke this compromise down. He kept referring to the “wealthiest Americans” (like him and Michelle) and how he was opposed to keeping their tax cuts in place. He said that he made this sacrifice in order to extend Americans’ unemployment benefits for 13 months.

How noble.  In the past, Scooter had said that he thought that extending the top earners’ tax cuts

could cost our economy well over a million jobs.

According to wsj.com:

…this proposal would extend current tax rates on capital gains and dividends for two years, including for higher earners. It would also maintain protection for middle-class families from the alternative minimum tax.

As part of the deal, the White House is proposing a provision to encourage more investment in plant and equipment, by letting companies claim deductions on 100% of most kinds of investment.

Under the agreement between the White House and congressional Republicans, the estate tax rate would be set at 35% for two years and would apply only to estates over $5 million. Under current law, the estate tax has lapsed for 2010 and is set to spring next year to 55%.

So, what happens now?  Will this proposal be acted upon quickly, so that the Lame Duck Congress can try to shove through the DREAM Act, DADT Repeal, the START Treaty, and other unpopular Progressive policies before the end of the year?

If Congress does not co-operate and hems and haws, Americans will be faced with the biggest tax increase in history and, now, the responsibility for it will clearly fall at the feet of the Democrats.

By making this proposal, Obama has attempted to distance himself from the anger of the American people, and has made his own political party and Far Left base the ones who are standing in the way of progress.  This little maneuver is not exactly endearing Scooter to those who made him their messiah. 

Why the sudden attempt at a Clinton-esque triangulation?  Perhaps it is simply because Scooter knows that Liberals only comprise 18 % of America’s population.  If Obama wants to have any chance at all of getting re-elected, he has to expand his voter base beyond those 35-year-old Jack Black lookalikes who are posting Liberal blogs from their Mom’s basement.

Unfortunately, though, he has been instrumental in moving his political party from a moderate stance to a Far Left ideological stance.  While trying to triangulate, he may have just gotten himself primaried leading up to the Presidential Election of 2012.

Sho ’nuff hate it for him.

Conservatives have been waiting for this moment, almost as much as the glorious Midterm Elections.  By allowing himself to become a symbolic figure among the Far Left, transcending politics, Obama set himself up for this very moment.

American is not, and never has been, a nation whose majority embraces the socialist, nanny-state philosophy of Progressivism.  By attempting to force this failed ideology on the American people, Obama and the Democrats have dug themselves a hole that they will not get out of anytime soon.

Their own arrogance has been the instrument of their demise.
