Fleebaggin’

You’re the President of the United States and the world is imploding around you.  The Middle East is on fire, Americans are trapped in Libya and are in mortal danger, over 20 % of your citizens are unemployed, and you are desperately trying to hide your involvement in encouraging anarchy by America’s Public Service Unions.  What do you do?

Well, heck.  You throw a Motown party at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Last night John Legend, Seal, Jamie Foxx, Nick Jonas,Sheryl Crow along with actual Motown performers and musical pioneers Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder performed for the Royal, err, I mean, First Couple, at their Palace, err, I mean, the People’s House in celebration of Black History Month.

Foxx, Seal, Legend and Jonas started the Par-tahy by taking turns as backup dancers, complete with some smooth dance moves to the Motown classics: “Get Ready,” “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” “Can’t Get Next to You” and “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.”

Then, a very pale comparison of the great Supremes, the trio of Natasha Bedingfield, Jordin Sparks and Ledisi tried to sing “Stop! In the Name of Love.”

The very talented Legend channeled Marvin Gaye and sang “Heard It Through the Grapevine”.

Jamie Foxx, searching for relevance, proclaimed that nowadays the story was more likely to be “heard it through my Twitter.”

He quipped:

I’m going to tweet it right now.

Nero fiddled.

In honor of Scooter’s Motown par-tahy last night and the problem of State Democratic Senators fleeing their states, instead of participating in votes on trimming their states’ budgets, I’ve written a little  ditty, with apologies to legendary R & B artist Robert Parker:

FLEEBAGGIN’

State Senators had an idea that’s pretty neat,

You gotta vote when you’re in your seat.

They jumped  in their cars and hit the street,

Across the state line, they’re gonna meet.

They’re fleebaggin’.  They’re fleebaggin’.

They’re fleebaggin’.  They’re fleebaggin’.

The Union Bosses, they called them up,

Said don’t ‘cha know who fills your cup,

If you know what’s good for you,

Gettin’ out-of-state is what you will do.

They’re fleebaggin’.  They’re fleebaggin’.

They’re fleebaggin’.  They’re fleebaggin’.

Governor Walker and Daniels, too,

Are trying to figure out what to do.

To get them back, they’ve got to try,

Daniels pleaded, he might have cried.

They’re fleebaggin’.  They’re fleebaggin’.

They’re fleebaggin’.  They’re fleebaggin’.

American voters are gettin’ mad.

The dems’ future is gonna be bad.

2012 is almost here,

There’ll be a lot of cryin’ in their beer.

They’re Fleebaggin’.  They’re Fleebaggin’.

They’re Fleebaggin’.   They’re Fleebaggin’.

They’re Fleebaggin’.    They’re Fleebaggin’.

They’re Fleebaggin’.  They’re Fleebaggin’.

They’re Fleebaggin’.

To close, here’s the legendary Mr. Robert Parker, performing his hit at his induction in 2007 into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.  Enjoy.

One Moment Please, While I Rant…

Is it just me, or is everything in the world and our own country spiraling out of control?

Within the span of a few weeks, the entire Middle East has become one big revolutionary bonfire, with secular despots in the process of being overthrown, so that they may be replaced by Islamic Regimes, forming one big Caliphate.

Meanwhile, domestically, Public Service Unions, supported and organized by Private Unions, the Democratic Party, and the President of the United States’ self-named (barackobama.com) “community” website, are protesting attempts by state administrations to trim out-of-control budgets by actually making the Public Service Unions chip in a little toward their own “Cadillac” benefit plans.

And that’s not all…this country has a president who believes that he can rule by fiat, deciding which legislation he thinks is constitutional and worthy of defending, such as the Defense of Marriage Act.

This imperious leader has also decided that he is above any ruling by the Federal Courts, continuing a ban on oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico that had been legally struck down, and continuing with his plans for Obamacare, whose individual mandate has been ruled unconstitutional, thereby striking down the whole law.

Gas prices are beginning to go through the roof. Why hasn’t Congress said a doggone thing about it? Why aren’t they demanding that Obama obey the Federal Court’s ruling and allow drilling in the Gulf?  For that matter,  why aren’t they demanding that Obamacare be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court?

Maybe Chuckie Schumer was right, when he said that there are three branches of government:  the President, the House of Representatives, and the Senate.  Not Executive, Legislative, and Judicial, as was previously taught to every American in school.

How did we get here?  Have Americans become so cynical, so unaware, that we don’t care about what’s going on around us, as long as we can go home, watch American Idol, and eat our Hot Pockets?

I thought we were heading in the right direction, when I woke up on the morning of November 3rd, 2010 to discover that my countrymen had stood up on their hind legs and voted the rascals out.

It appears that all our national elections accomplished was to vote a new bunch of wishy-washy politicians in.  The moment any Conservative leader tries to do something on a state or national level, the Libs start screaming and pouting like 3 year olds, and bring up the new word du jour, civility.  Where was their civility when they rammed Obamacare down our cotton-pickin’ throats?

Where is their vaunted civility in  the case of Wisconsin and Indiana, where Democratic State Senators have fled their home states, like a bunch of yellow-bellied cowards, rather than stand and fight for what they believe in, because they know they are wrong, but they have already sold their souls to their Union paymasters?

Civility, my foot.  Immature snobbery is more like it.

If you believe that the Libs are being civil, they you probably also believe that the Muslim Brotherhood is a secular organization.

I know that I’ve written about this time and time again, and you are probably tired of me saying it, but 75 % of Americans claim to be Christians.  If you are among that 75 %, and even if you’re not, God has laid something on my heart that I want to share with you:

What made our country the greatest nation in the world, is that Divine Spark that Our Creator placed in each and every one of us.  That truly American ability to act on our courage and convictions, to care for our families, to care about our friends and neighbors, and to take care of one another, not relying on some Nanny-state socialistic form of Federal Government, but on each other.

Every generation has thought that they were living in the End Times.  We might be now.  There is only One who knows the day and time appointed.

As a Christian man/father/grandfather and patriotic American, I ask you to pray for our country, our leadership, and those in peril around the world, and to take to heart the words found in Ephesians 6:11 – 18:

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Stay strong and hopeful and may God bless.

A Tragic End to a Noble Quest

When you speak about rich people on a yachting adventure, your mind probably immediately visualizes Thurston B. Howell III and his wife, Lovey.

Unfortunately for 4 Americans yachting around the coast of Africa, their story was not a television comedy series. It was a tragedy.

Yesterday, Somali Pirates, who were holding the 4 Americans hostage, killed them in response to being shadowed by a U.S. Navy Destroyer.

One of the pirates fired a rocket-propelled grenade at the Destroyer. Then, gunfire erupted and U.S. special forces boarded the yacht. too late. The 4 innocent Americans were fatally wounded.

Pirates had been in control of the 58-foot yacht Quest south of Oman on Friday.  They had been shadowed since then by four U.S. warships and sky-high drones, as the pirates tried to sail it to the Somali shore. U.S. officials tried to negotiate with the thugs via radio.

The owners of the Quest, Scott and Jan Adam, of Marina del Rey, California, were missionaries, who had been sailing around the world since 2004, handing out bibles. Also killed were Phyllis Macay and Bob Riggle, both of Seattle, Washington.

Around Christmas, they joined the Blue Water Rally, an around-the-world race. Race organizers said the Quest recently left the race despite warnings about the dangers of sailing in Horn of Africa region.

However, the Blue Water Rally admitted in a statement Tuesday that even though yachtsmen are discouraged from sailing in the region, the only other choices are to sail around the stormy and dangerous tip of South Africa or sail back across the Pacific.

The experienced yacht enthusiasts from California and Washington are the first Americans killed by Somali pirates since the start of attacks off East Africa several years ago. One of the American couples on board had been sailing around the world since 2004 handing out Bibles.

Adam, in his mid-60s, was an Associate Producer in Hollywood a decade ago, when he decided to give his life to God and enrolled in seminary, according to Robert K. Johnston, a professor at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena and a friend of Adam’s.

He decided he could take his pension, and he wanted to serve God and humankind.

Johnston and Adam started a film and theology institute. Adam also taught a class on church and media at the school.

Since 2004, the Adams lived on their yacht. They docked at Marina Del Rey for about half the year and then, the rest of the year, they sailed around the world, often distributing Bibles in remote parts of the Fiji Islands, Alaska, New Zealand, Central America and French Polynesia, Johnston said.

The Christian couple documented their missionary work on their website, S/V Quest Adventure Log.

The website has been removed.

The Adams’ friends, Riggle and Macay, were eulogized by Joe Grande of the Seattle Singles Yacht Club, where they were members, as:

Great sailors, good people. They were doing what they wanted to do, but that’s small comfort in the face of this.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton strongly condemned the killings, saying in a statement that the slayings were “deplorable”. She called for international cooperation in fighting the scourge of piracy in waters off the Horn of Africa.

If they won’t do it, we must, Madame Secretary.

President Barack Hussein Obama, was told about the deaths at 4:42 a.m. Washington time. He had authorized the military on Saturday to use force in case of an imminent threat to the hostages, according to new White House spokesman Jay Carney.

That’s fine, Mr. President.  But, it’s time for you and your Administration to quit talking about international cooperation.  You’ve tried that already.  As president, you are responsible for the lives of Americans, no matter where they are in the world.

May I suggest reading about Thomas Jefferson and the Barbary Pirates.  Just like Muslim Terrorists, they only respond to one thing…and it’s not a reasoned debate.

According to a pirate who identified himself as Muse Abdi, killing hostages

…has now become part of our rules. From now on, anyone who tries to rescue the hostages in our hands will only collect dead bodies. It will never ever happen that hostages are rescued and we are hauled to prison.

Fine. The United States needs to oblige them. You reap what you sow.

Libya Imploding. Obama MIA.

As Libya continues to wait for the Leader of the Free World, US President Barack Hussein Obama, to make a public statement about the crisis in their country, his Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, spoke for the Administration yesterday, in a tersely-worded e-mail:

The world is watching the situation in Libya with alarm. We join the international community in strongly condemning the violence in Libya.

Now is the time to stop this unacceptable bloodshed. Our thoughts and prayers are with those whose lives have been lost, and with their loved ones.

The government of Libya has a responsibility to respect the universal rights of the people, including the right to free expression and assembly.

Thanks, Madame Secretary.  That should make a difference.  Sheesh.

It appears that everybody is deserting Kadhafi. The spiritual leader of the Muslim Brother (You remember them, that secular organization), Yusuf al-Qaradawi, put out a fatwa calling for Libyan soldier who can, to shoot Kadhafi in order “to rid Libya of him.”

The Egyptian-born cleric, usually based in Qatar, told Al-Jazeera television:

Whoever in the Libyan army is able to shoot a bullet at Mr Kadhafi should do so.

This leader of “the religion of peace” also told Libyan soldiers “not to obey orders to strike at your own people,”.   He then urged Libyan ambassadors around the world to dissociate themselves from Kadhafi’s regime.

This is not just any nutjob. He’s a celebrity in the Middle East for his controversial fatwas, or religious edicts. Qaradawi, in his 80s, hosts religious broadcasts on Al-Jazeera.

In the past, he has defended “violence carried out by certain Muslims.”

Because he has supported “terrorism” by sanctioning Palestinian suicide attacks in Israel, Britain and the United States will not grant him entry visas.

The Muslim religious leader, known as the spiritual leader of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and a longtime resident of Qatar, is the head of the International Union for Muslim Scholars.

And were was the fearless leader of Libya?

Yesterday, Kadhafi appeared on state-run television, sitting in a car, wearing a hat with ear flaps, holding an umbrella.  He claimed that he had not fled Libya after protesters overran several cities and his 40 year rule appeared to be collapsing.

He said:

I am going to meet with the youth in Green Square.

It’s just to prove that I am in Tripoli and not in Venezuela and to deny television reports, those dogs.

Kadhafi  was trying to squelch rumors that he had fled to Venezuela.

After days of violence, the apparent revolution had come to Tripoli, where protesters attacked police stations and the offices of Kadhafi’s state-run television, setting government buildings ablaze.

There were reports of massacres in the streets by Kadhafi’s military and African mercenaries, hired by Kadhafi.

One resident of east Tripoli said by phone:

It’s definitely the end of the regime. This has never happened in Libya before. We are praying that it ends quickly.

While all of this was going on, two Libyan fighter pilots, both colonels, got the heck outta Dodge, flying their single-seater Mirage F1 jets to Malta. They sought asylum, claiming that they had been ordered to attack protesters in Benghazi.

Italy put all military air bases on maximum alert after the fighters landed.

Human rights groups are putting the death toll at between over 200 to some 400 people, so far.

The effect on America’s economy will be immediate.

Libya is the world’s 18th largest oil producer, pumping out around 1.8 million barrels a day, or a little under 2 percent of the world’s daily output. Kadhafi’s regime sits atop the biggest oil reserves in the whole of Africa.

In response to the Libyan situation, oil prices surged. Benchmark crude for March delivery was up $7.88 a barrel, or 9.1 percent, to $94.08 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

With the oil price rising so rapidly, will it be any surprise if stocks are inevitably under severe pressure?

Rising crude prices are the biggest problem for investors because they reinforce fears of inflation and raw materials costs. They also can cause a big drop in global demand levels, as experienced in previous oil price shocks in 1973-4, 1979 and 2008.

Wow, it’s a good thing we have all these oil fields ready for production in our own country.  Oh, wait…

So, as the seeds of revolution continue to be sown in the Middle East, America and their allies are looking to the Leader of the greatest country in the world to say something, to offer hope, and to take a principled stand.

So far, all we’ve heard are **crickets**.

A Middle Eastern Manic Monday

As I turned on my computer this morning, the following headlines greeted me at FoxNews.com:

  • Chaos as Libyan Gov’t Building Burns
  • Qaddafi Son: We’ll ‘Fight to the Last Bullet’
  • U.S. ‘Gravely Concerned’ Over Libya Violence
  • EU Citizens May Evacuate
  • Bahrain Protesters Seek to Overthrow Royal Family
  • Yemen President Rejects Demand to Step Down

Meanwhile, the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, yesterday called on Muslims to “remove” the US from the Islamic world.

This proponent of “the religion of peace” was speaking to a meeting Shiite and Sunni scholars in Tehran at an international conference on Islam, when he said:

The main problem in the Muslim world is the presence of the United States. It is the biggest problem. We need to address that. It is necessary to remove the US from the Islamic world.

He added that America was currently weak.

Khamenei wants Muslims around the world to preserve the “people’s movement in Egypt”. According to him, it is the duty of both the people and dignitaries of Arab nations and the entire Islamic community.

He repeatedly stated that the Arab revolts were “Islamic” and must be consolidated.

Can you say “Caliphate”?

This “man of peace” went on to say:

The enemies try to say that the popular movements in Egypt, Tunisia and other nations are un-Islamic, but certainly these popular movements are Islamic and must be consolidated.

Khamenei also said that “the conspiracy of enemies to create differences between Sunnis and Shiites” needs to be confronted.

He’s got his own problems.

Iran’s opposition, for the second time in a week, has brought tens of thousands of supporters into the streets yesterday. The protesters were calling for the end to the Islamic Republic’s current government.

The government beat back the protesters with what witnesses said was a huge number of security forces. sent to silence the crowds.

According to witnesses, scores of anti-riot police and plainclothes Basij militia lined the streets and on several occasions fired indiscriminately into the crowd and beat protesters with steel batons.

Witnesses also reported that, in one neighborhood, the Basij dropped tear gas canisters from the roof of a commercial building onto the protesters.

Dozens have been injured and arrested, according to witnesses.

One witness reported:

This was the most violent protest we’ve had by far, and people were also really angry and fearless.

The witness said that the people seem determined to stay in the streets.

So, what are the purveyors of Smart Power! doing about the violence in the Middle East?

Not a whole heckuva lot, it seems.

Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, arrived in the turbulent Gulf region on Sunday for a week-long visit, in order to cement U.S. strategic ties with whatever allies we have remaining there.

He is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. He is also supposed to stop in Djibouti, where demonstrators inspired by revolts that toppled leaders in Egypt and Tunisia have clashed with riot police.

The Admiral’s spokesman, Captain John Kirby, said:

Though this trip was planned well before the recent unrest in the region, the chairman will be interested to gain the perspectives of leaders here about these protest movements.

He added that Mullen will also

…make clear his desire to see that peaceful protest be allowed to continue without threats or violence from any quarter and that restraint is shown by all sides in these disputes.

The Admiral, however, will not be stopping in Bahrain, an important strategic base of America’s military power in the Gulf.

The country had been the site of deadly clashes between anti-government protesters and security forces last week. The United States regards Bahrain, home to the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, as one of our primary defenses against Shi’ite power Iran across the Gulf.

At the same time Admiral Mullen is on his Goodwill Tour, Iranian warships have crossed the Suez Canal for the first time since 1979.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton went on ABC News’ This Week with Christine Amanpour, where she spoke about the turmoil in the Middle East and said:

We try to hold everyone to a similar standard, but we cannot dictate the outcomes. We cannot tell countries what they’re going to do. We had, you know, no control over what happened in Egypt. We expressed our opinion as we went along and were working with our Egyptian counterparts so that their transition is peaceful, meaningful, transparent, produces results.

By the way, where is Hillary’s boss, the Leader of the Free World, during all this Middle Eastern upheaval?

Saturday, he stepped in to help coach his 9-year-old daughter Sasha’s basketball team while she went on a skiing vacation to Vail, Colorado with her mother and sister.

No one is reporting what he did yesterday.  He probably watched the NBA All-Star Game.

How…comforting.

Wisconsin, Obama, and the 10th Amendment

The Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, ratified in 1791 as a part of the Bill of Rights, states that:

…the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The 44th President of these United States, Barack Hussein Obama, said this week:

The truth is, some of the main instigators behind the current protest in Wisconsin over Governor Scott Walker’s proposed budget cuts have been the Democratic Party and their sponsored group named Organizing for America, whose publicity arm operates the  DNC-owned website barackobama.com.

Per David Horowitz’s discoverthenetworks.org:

Organizing for America (OFA) is a project of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The American public first heard about OFA on January 17, 2009, when President Barack Obama announced that the organization would soon open its doors for business. Two months later, in mid-March, OFA was officially launched.

Basing its operations on the third floor of the DNC’s Capitol Hill headquarters, OFA consists of a vast network of volunteers whose mission is to “let their friends and neighbors know about the President’s plan to invest in America’s future, improve health care and education, create green jobs, reduce our dependence on foreign oil and cut the deficit in half over the next four years.”

A New York Times report describes OFA as “an army of [Obama] supporters talking, sending e-mail and texting to friends and neighbors as they try to mold public opinion.”

From an article titled Fight for our State Workers, written by Mary Hough and posted 2/17/11 on barackobama.com:

UPDATE: For the past two days, thousands of workers have been gathering at the State Capitol in Madison, WI, to defend their rights in the workplace. From nurses to police officers, public sector workers and OFA volunteers have been protesting against proposed legislation to take away workers’ rights to bargain collectively. With a vote on the legislation expected as early as today, volunteers are already gathering at the Capitol this morning. It’s going to be a big day in Madison and you can follow updates throughout the day on the OFA Wisconsin Twitter feed.

Organizing for America is mobilizing on the ground in Wisconsin to defend the rights of public employees from an attempt by the governor to take away their right to organize.

Is Obama’s involvement in the Wisconsin protest a violation of the Tenth Amendment?

According to the Detroit Free Press:

President Barack Obama and his political machine are offering tactical support, eager to repair strained relations with some union leaders upset over his recent overtures to business.

The potent combination has helped fan the huge protests in Wisconsin against a measure that would strip collective bargaining rights from state workers. The alliance also is sending a warning to other states that are considering the same tactic.

…For Obama, stepping into a confrontation with a governor has its risks. The president is in a struggle of his own to tame spending, and siding with unions may cast him as a partisan even as he talks about setting a new tone in Washington.

Ya think, DiNozzo?

Also, Obama has to keep campaign promises that he made to the Labor Unions.

Therefore, Obama will be standing beside Labor Unions, public and private, as they come together to carry out a $30 million plan to stop anti-labor measures in Wisconsin and 10 other states.

This new Labor “Allied Powers” includes AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka working with leaders such as Teamsters president James Hoffa.

Politics make strange bedfellows. The fact is, they haven’t been on speaking terms for years.

Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-Ohio, thinks that Obama is helping fuel “Greece-style” protests in the United States.

His political organization is colluding with special interest allies across the country to demagogue reform-minded governors who are making the tough choices that the president is avoiding.

Boehner’s right. For instance, Education Secretary Arne Duncan prmised teachers’ unions during an education summit in Denver that he would stand by them in states where governors have pledged to shut down teachers’ collective bargaining rights. He specifically mentioned Wisconsin.

So, is the President of the United States abusing his powers in violation of the Tenth Admendment of the United States Constitution?

Remember, the Tenth Admendment states that:

…the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

I don’t see the name Barack Hussein Obama, anywhere in the Tenth Amendment.  Do you?

Showdown In Madison

Today, there may be a Perfect Storm in Madison, Wisconsin.

Minnesota State Employee Union members, joined by bussed-in Union thugs will be holding rallies in protest of Gov. Scott Walker’s proposed budget cuts, that would actually make them pay something toward their own retirement.

Oh, the humanity.

According to the state AFSCME website:

Rallies will be held Saturday at the Capitol at 10:30 am and 4:00 pm. On Saturday and Sunday, bus service will be limited to shuttles from the east and west edges of Madison (click here for info). The Friday bus schedule is here.

Union members from all work sectors and their supporters have turned out every day this week to send a loud signal that lawmakers must not strip bargaining rights from most public employees. AFSCME members have poured into the Capitol from around the state.

…But AFSCME members were hardly alone. Other public sector unions were well represented, including police and firefighters who have been exempted from the union busting proposal. Private sector unions also have come out in force, as did university and high school students.

We will not stop until the attack on our bargaining rights is over.

…Shuttle buses will be running from Madison’s east and west sides on Saturday and Sunday. A full statewide bus schedule now is being arranged for Monday.

They included detailed instructions as to what their members should do:

When you get off your bus in Madison on Friday, head for the Capitol and look for your legislators. There is an information desk in the Capitol Rotunda where you can find out the names and office numbers of your legislators if you don’t already know them.

This is about protecting your fundamental rights in the workplace and the future of your family. Make sure you are heard today!

And then there’s this, posted 2/17/2011 on barackobama.com, by Elizabeth Chan:

Thursday marked the third straight day of rallies in Madison, Wisconsin—where students, nurses, public safety officers, and others are gathering to stand up for the rights of Wisconsin state employees.

Republican Governor Walker Scott Walker has proposed a radical plan to take away the collective bargaining rights of public workers. Those who teach and those who plow the snow-filled Wisconsin streets would no longer be able to organize for better working conditions and rights in the workplace.

Since Tuesday, the streets of Madison and the halls of the Capitol building have been filled with thousands of ordinary folks who are sending the strongest message possible to their state legislators—their rights are not up for negotiation.

Organizing for America–Wisconsin, who has been among the most vocal advocates for state employees’ rights, is tweeting live from the rallies and pulling together the voices, videos, and photos of this movement.

That is one side of the showdown happening today.  The other side is comprised of  Tea Party members.

According to Drew Ryun, president of American Majority Action, one of the conservative groups planning the demonstration, organizers are “meeting fire with fire.”

We have buses coming in from all over the state. We see this as the opening salvo of the 2012 election season. The Tea Party movement facing off against the unions. And we like the odds.

The Tea Party Rally has been named the “I Stand With Scott Walker” Rally.

Another group that will be there are the Tea Party Patriots.  Here is what their Founders, Jenny Beth Martin and Mark Meckler,  had to say:

In the current situation in Wisconsin, we see Democratic politicians and their constituency standing against democracy. Instead of responding to the will of the people, Democratic legislators are in hiding, and refusing to show for a vote which they are certain to lose. Teachers have closed down the schools. Union thugs have overrun the capitol and are damaging property, and carrying signs with crude abuse and threats. Meanwhile, instead of acting “Presidential” and calling for a restoration of the democratic process, civility and decency, the President and his Organizing for America are actually standing against democracy in Wisconsin.

In summary, here is what we see in Wisconsin ; Democratic legislators in hiding and not legislating, teachers on sick-out and not teaching, and students out of school and not learning. Most importantly, we see our President, who is supposed to be a leader, not “leading.” Is it any wonder that public opinion has turned against the President, the Democrats, public employee unions and their thugs?

They are absolutely right.  I can not remember any other American President advocating anarchy.  It’s almost like he wants to radically change America…or something.

Obama and the UN Vote on Israel: How to Shaft a Friend

Upon returning from this week’s Wednesday night church service, where my Preacher framed the happenings in Egypt and the Middle East in biblical prophetic terms, I returned home to the following headline on the Drudge Report:  US TO REBUKE ISRAEL AT UN.

According to the story, reported on turtlebay.foreign policy.com, the Obama Administration informed Arab governments Tuesday that it will turn on our ally, Israel, and support a U.N. Security Council statement which declares sanctimonious that the 15-nation body “does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlement activity,”.  This is a peremptory move by the UN designed to avoid a veto vote on an upcoming Palestinian resolution proclaiming the settlements illegal.

This would be Obama’s first veto vote since taking office in 2009.

The sad fact is, Israel is building on its own land.

However, the Palestinians rejected the peremptory offer late Wednesday from the US and the Arab nations. Instead, the Palestinians planned to call for a vote on their resolution Friday.

At the time, the Obama Administration hoped that their involvement in this ignorance will be seen as a renewed willingness to seek a way out of the current impasse, even if it requires shafting a friend and joining others in the council in telling Israel to stop its construction of new settlements on its own land.

But, as of this morning, the worm has turned…

Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas has ordered an urgent session of the Palestinian leadership this morning.

The meeting will include members of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the central committee of Abbas’ Fatah movement, scant hours ahead of a Security Council vote in New York, officials said.

Why the Palestinian panic?

Well, US President Barack Hussein Obama (peace be upon him) called Abbas late last night about the UN vote.

According to Palestinian Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina:

During the conversation, they reviewed … the question of taking settlement activities before the UN Security Council.

The tight-lipped spokesman said that several ideas were raised during the hour-long conversation and Obama and Hamas agreed to continue consultations.

He would not elaborate.  I’ll bet.

Obama is trying to walk a fine line.  He evidently told Abbas that he and his Administration do not believe this matter should be handled within the UN Security Council, meeting today from 3.00 pm New York time (2000 GMT).

US Secretary of State (and Palestinian backer)Hillary Clinton said on Thursday:

Our focus is on doing what is best to advance negotiations between the parties. And we have consistently — over many years — said that the United Nations Security Council, and resolutions that would come before the Security Council, are not the right vehicle to advance that goal.

Supposedly, earlier in the week, Obama’s ambassador to the UN had offered the Palestinians various compromise solutions to entice them to withdraw the resolution, but they rejected the overtures, according to Palestinian foreign minister Riyad al-Maliki.

US-brokered peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians stopped at the end of 2010 over an argument about Israel building settlements on land that the Palestinians want.

The Palestinians will not negotiate while Israel builds on its own land that the Palestinians want to take from them.

Why did Obama and crew pull a quick 180 degree turn?  Perhaps it’s because of the reaction in Washington over Obama’s handling of this tense situation.

Wild-eyed Liberal schmuck Rep. Anthony Weiner was not impressed:

This is too clever by half. Instead of doing the correct and principled thing and vetoing an inappropriate and wrong resolution, they now have opened the door to more and more anti-Israeli efforts coming to the floor of the U.N. The correct venue for discussions about settlements and the other aspects of a peace plan is at the negotiating table. Period.

And according to thehill.com:

On the last Thursday in January, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor(R-Va.),Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), ranking member Howard Berman (D-Calif.), incoming Middle East subcommittee Chairman Steve Chabot (R-Ohio) and ranking member Gary Ackerman (D-N.Y.), Sent a letter to Obama asking him to

…pledge in response to this letter to veto any U.N. Security Council resolution that criticizes Israel regarding final status issues”

Instead of negotiating directly with Israel to achieve a peaceful solution to the conflict, Palestinian leaders continue to seek to circumvent the negotiating process by advocating anti-Israel measures by the U.N. Security Council, U.N. General Assembly and U.N. Human Rights Council. In fact, Palestinian leaders are currently seeking consideration of a Security Council resolution that would condemn Israel for the aforementioned housing construction and demand that Israel cease all such activity.

Mr. President, the passage of this resolution would simply isolate Israel and embolden the Palestinians to focus on further such pyrrhic victories, immeasurably setting back prospects for achieving real peace.

So, Obama’s 180 was not made out of any love for Israel.  Last night’s late night phone call was made to maintain harmony within his own political party.  Scooter and Madame Clinton will still shaft Israel the first chance that they get.

God protect us.

Cairo, Wisconsin

As I write, Madison, Wisconsin has imploded in a scene reminiscent of the upheaval in the Middle East.

At least 15 school systems in Wisconsin cancelled classes today because 1,100 called in sick.

At least 10,000 employees and supporters rallied yesterday in Madison in opposition to legislation supported by Republican Gov. Scott Walker.

I guess they screamed themselves sick.

Per cnn.com:

Classes were not held today in the Madison Metropolitan School District, because the Wisconsin Education Association Council called for people to come to the Capitol on Thursday and Friday to “stand beside your neighbors, family and friends to help our voices be heard.”

40 percent of 2,600 teachers, assistants, social workers and psychologists in the bargaining unit called in sick late Tuesday, forcing the district to cancel Wednesday’s classes for 24,500 students.

And this just in from 620wtmj.com:

The Wisconsin State Senate has some members MIA.

It is supposed to be discussing, debating and, maybe, voting on Governor Scott Walker’s budget bill, the Democrats have gotten the Heck outta Dodge.

Law enforcement officials are trying to find at least one Democratic senator to bring in for a quorum, but, according to River Hills Republican Senator Alberta Darling, all the Democrats got on one bus and left the state.

The discussion, debate and vote will not occur until a 3/5ths quorum can be reached.

Is it over some tyrannical decree by an uncaring politician? Is it a life or death situation? Well…if you listen to Jessie Lidbury, regional field organizer, it is:

We’ve got a fight on our hands and it’s personal. Over the past few days serious developments have surfaced of Governor Scott Walker presenting a “Budget Repair Bill” that will essentially gut collective bargaining for public employees here in our own backyard of Wisconsin.

Over the next couple days nurses, teachers, snowplow drivers, prison guards, and public servants will be standing together to let Governor Walker, know what is at stake: livelihoods, heath care, our children’s education, and the rights of all workers.

A regional field organizer for whom, you ask? Well, let them tell you:

Organizing for America is mobilizing on the ground in Wisconsin to defend the rights of public employees from an attempt by the governor to take away their right to organize.

Got it?

ORGANIZING FOR AMERICA…AS IN BARACKOBAMA.COM…THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA.

The same guy who said to TMJ4 in Milwaukee:

Some of what I’ve heard coming out of Wisconsin, where you’re just making it harder for public employees to collectively bargain generally, seems like more of an assault on unions.

All of this is happening because officials from the Wisconsin Governor’s Office told the Wisconsin State Employees Union on Friday that expired collective bargaining agreements would be canceled March 13. The previous arrangement made with State Employee Unions can be terminated with 30 days notice.

Also, last Friday, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker presented a budget repair bill that removes nearly all collective bargaining rights for almost all public employees in Wisconsin. The measure will make it easier for employers to fire workers that engage in some form of labor unrest.

Just like this.

The voters of Wisconsin put in a Conservative Governor for a reason.  They were tired of state government largesse and out-of-control Progressively-driven situations like the one that is unfolding right before the country’s eyes today.

Unfortunately, the situation in Wisconsin is just the beginning.  With the Administration behind them, Union thugs and Progressive pinheads will continue to have temper tantrums, such as we’re witnessing today, as the wishes of the American people, who spoke loudly and clearly on November 2nd, 2010, are carried out.

Gird your loins.

Muslims Kill Christians. White House, Media say “Meh”.

The Middle East is on fire. Revolution is in the air. The Muslim Brotherhood is stretching its spider-web of influence throughout the region…and Christians are being killed.

Over 65 Christians have been killed in attacks throughout the Muslim world in the last few months. What has the reaction of the Obama Administration and the Main Street Media Minions been? Nary a mumblin’ word.

For example…

Six innocent people were killed in a Christmas Day Catholic Church bombing on the island of Jolo, and, in the Philippines, Christmas Eve bombings in Nigeria killed at least 32. That was just part of a night of barbarism across the country that included three other churches attacked and six worshipers killed.  A New Year’s bombing at a Coptic Christian church in Alexandria, Egypt, killed 23 people and injured more than 100. Several New Year’s Eve bombings in Iraq left two dead and at least 13 wounded. And finally, an Egyptian Christian man and five Christian women were shot last month.

And, while these acts of Islamic Terroism are going on, humanitarian agencies have noticed the lack of response from the Obama Administration.

Nina Shea, director of the Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom, told FoxNews.com:

The lack of a policy response beyond sending condolences each time a church or Christians are targeted in some horrific act of violence like in Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria etc. is absolutely bewildering. This should be seen as not only a humanitarian issue, but a security issue.

Even when the White House issues a condolence statement, it seems to not be adequate, according to Shea.  She thinks that the condolence statements have come up short.

When the Obama administration first noted an Oct. 31 church bombing in Iraq, for example, according to her, the White House sent

…a general condolence to Iraqis that didn’t even mention the word Christian or churches — even though it was a packed Sunday worship service for Christians that was blown up.

That act of Islamic terrorism, claimed by an Al Qaeda-linked organization, left 58 people dead and at least 78 wounded. Iraq’s Christian minority was left reeling from the worst attack they ever experienced.

The media has not seemed to care, either.

According to Brent Bozell and the Media Research Center, CBS and ABC aired nothing on the Nigerian attacks, PBS had one measly “NewsHour” report, while NBC gave the story three very short acknowledgments on the morning of Dec. 27.

“CBS Evening News” long-past-perky anchor Katie Couric instead decided that the protests against the Ground Zero Mosque were more newsworthy, proclaiming sanctimonious that the “seething hatred” against Muslims in America was one of the “most disturbing stories to surface this year” during her New Year’s Eve Internet show (which 2 people probably watched).

While clueless Katie Couric was concerned about the rights of Muslims, 11 bombs went off near Christian homes in Baghdad, killing two people and wounding at least 13. And just minutes into the new year, the bombers in Alexandria struck.

According to Brent Bozell:

ABC aired nothing. CBS and NBC each aired one brief anchor read.

Libs, of course, disagree.

According to media analyst T.J. Walker (whoever he is):

Christians get massive, massive media coverage, way out of proportion to their importance. This is another case of an interest group developing the media strategy of ‘working the refs’. No matter how fair or generous your media coverage is, complain bitterly that you are being treated unfairly in the hopes of making reporters give you even more positive coverage just to avoid the headache of dealing with nonsense virulent criticism.

Bozell rightfully argues that exaggerated stories of so-called discrimination against Muslims, for instance, like a Florida pastor’s proposition to memorialize the 9/11 attacks with “Burn a Koran Day,” or a Seattle cartoonist’s decision to protest Comedy Central’s decision to censor an episode of “South Park” that depicted Muhammad in a bear costume, seem to draw a lot more air-time from the Liberal Main Stream Media:

It’s appalling that you’ve got a worldwide assault on Christianity in place, where every week there’s a reported attack on some Christian church somewhere by Muslim fanatics and no one’s covering it, but one idiot in Florida threatens to burn a Koran and everyone’s talking about it.

Like our Secretary of State, Madame Clinton, who opined about the Florida pastor’s “Burn a Koran Day” at a Council on Foreign Relations Event:

I am heartened by the clear, unequivocal condemnation of this disrespectful, disgraceful act that has come from American religious leaders of all faiths. It’s regrettable that a pastor in Gainesville, Fla., with a church of no more than 50 people can make this outrageous and distressful, disgraceful plan and get the world’s attention.

Obama , in a less than forceful response, said that the perpetrators of the Egypt attacks “were clearly targeting Christian worshippers” and “must be brought to justice for this barbaric and heinous act.” He also offered “any necessary assistance to the Government of Egypt in responding to it,” as well as to the Government of Nigeria in responding to its attacks.

I’m sure that statement terrified the Islamic perpetrators of these heinous acts….no, really.
