4/15/13: The New Boston Massacre

bostonmarathon41513The Boston Massacre was a street fight that happened on March 5, 1770, involving a patriot mob, who were throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, at a squad of British soldiers. Several of the colonists were killed, which only served to increase the resentment for the Crown by the colonials, and build momentum for the upcoming Revolutionary War.

Yesterday, the citizens of Boston were, once again, attacked, in an attempt to squelch our American Freedom.

Shortly before 2:50 p.m. Eastern, as exhausted runners crossed the finish line at the annual American Sporting event known as the Boston Marathon, they were not greeted by the cheers of the jam-packed crowd. Instead, terror, once again, struck on American soil. Two Improvised Explosive devices detonated, spraying their explosive power, laden with ball bearings, and shrapnel through the assembled throng of spectators. Later, at the JFK Library, another device detonated. Two more devices, which did not detonate, were also found by authorities.

134 Americans were wounded. 3 were murdered, including a precocious 8 year old boy.

President Obama later announced that he would speak to the nation about this attack at 6:10 p.m. Eastern. And, in a rare moment for The Lightbringer, he actually showed up on time.

Did he come out with fire in his eyes? Not hardly.

To me, he looked a little bothered that he had to be there. Additionally, he looked as if he knew more about the situation than he wanted us to know. More of that, after you read what he said…

Good afternoon, everybody. Earlier today, I was briefed by my homeland security team on the events in Boston. We’re continuing to monitor and respond to the situation as it unfolds. And I’ve directed the full resources of the federal government to help state and local authorities protect our people, increase security around the United States as necessary, and investigate what happened.

The American people will say a prayer for Boston tonight. And Michelle and I send our deepest thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims in the wake of this senseless loss.

We don’t yet have all the answers. But we do know that multiple people have been wounded, some gravely, in explosions at the Boston Marathon.

I’ve spoken to FBI Director Mueller and Secretary of Homeland Security Napolitano, and they’re mobilizing the appropriate resources to investigate and to respond.

I’ve updated leaders of Congress in both parties, and we reaffirmed that on days like this there are no Republicans or Democrats — we are Americans, united in concern for our fellow citizens.

I’ve also spoken with Governor Patrick and Mayor Menino, and made it clear that they have every single federal resource necessary to care for the victims and counsel the families. And above all, I made clear to them that all Americans stand with the people of Boston.

Boston police, firefighters, and first responders as well as the National Guard responded heroically, and continue to do so as we speak. It’s a reminder that so many Americans serve and sacrifice on our behalf every single day, without regard to their own safety, in dangerous and difficult circumstances. And we salute all those who assisted in responding so quickly and professionally to this tragedy.

We still do not know who did this or why. And people shouldn’t jump to conclusions before we have all the facts. But make no mistake — we will get to the bottom of this. And we will find out who did this; we’ll find out why they did this. Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups will feel the full weight of justice.

Today is a holiday in Massachusetts — Patriots’ Day. It’s a day that celebrates the free and fiercely independent spirit that this great American city of Boston has reflected from the earliest days of our nation. And it’s a day that draws the world to Boston’s streets in a spirit of friendly competition. Boston is a tough and resilient town. So are its people. I’m supremely confident that Bostonians will pull together, take care of each other, and move forward as one proud city. And as they do, the American people will be with them every single step of the way.

You should anticipate that as we get more information, our teams will provide you briefings. We’re still in the investigation stage at this point. But I just want to reiterate we will find out who did this and we will hold them accountable.

Okay. Multiple IEDs, packed with ball bearings, which just happen to go off on Patriot Day. Hmmm. Now, who operates this way. I know. It’s those darned Southern Baptists again. Isn’t it?

Shortly after Obama spoke, the White House announced that they considered this new “Boston Massacre, an Act of Terrorism. No, really?

I mean, just because you have a “person of interest” under lock and key at a Boston hospital, who happens to be a Saudi National, like the murders of 9/11, doesn’t mean anything, does it? It could all be a coinky-dink. 

Yeah, right. And, it doesn’t take Michelle two trips to haul you-know-what.

Let’s face it, Americans: The president of our country is a self-serving wuss.

It pained him, through his spokespeople, to admit, after he finished his speech, when the cameras were off, that this was an act of terror, which could involve an adherent to the “religion of peace”.

He would sooner blame it on a Southern Baptist from Mississippi, than on a Muslim Terrorist.

It is a sad fact, which has already been proven true.

Otherwise, why would he call the mass murder committed by Muslim Terrorist Major Nadal Hassan “workplace violence?

Gimme a break.

Obama is like Jimmy Carter and Neville Chamberlain, all wrapped up in one self-absorbed, mom-jeans-wearing dhimmi package.

And, our enemies could not be happier.

May God hold the injured, the first responders, the families, and all those affected in the hollow of His hand.

The UK: A Harbinger of America’s Future?

americanenglishflagsAs I sit here writing this post, up on the wall to my right, sits my family crest, bought at the York, England Insignia Shoppe, in July of 1978.

My ancestors, Lords of York and Oxford, (England, not Mississippi) would not recognize their country anymore. If fact, they would probably think that they had traveled back in time to when barbarians ruled the land.

…And, they would be exactly right.

A campaign by opponents of late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher to get the song “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead” to the top of the British pop charts to celebrate her death failed on Sunday although it did manage to reach second place.

Thatcher, who died aged 87 on Monday, deeply divided Britons and while some have paid warm tributes to the achievements of her right-wing Conservative governments, others said her privatization of swathes of industry had destroyed communities.

That opposition was manifested in a Facebook campaign to propel the witch song, from the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz”, to number one in the charts, provoking anger from politicians of all parties, right-leaning media, and members of the public.

The Official Charts Company said 52,605 copies of the song had been sold, but that was about 6,000 shy of the chart-topping track “Need U” by British DJ Duke Dumont and singer A*M*E.

The top 40 best-selling singles are played weekly on BBC Radio but the broadcaster said on Friday it would only pay a five-second clip of the song as part of a news item, leading to accusations it had caved into political pressure.

“I understand the concerns about this campaign. I personally believe it is distasteful and inappropriate,” BBC Director-General Tony Hall said in a statement.

“However, I do believe it would be wrong to ban the song outright as free speech is an important principle.”

Britain’s Got Talent has been hit by a huge backlash from viewers after broadcasting a performance from an 11-year-old schoolgirl singing a song about a one night stand, and a highly sexualised lapdancing performance – all before the 9pm watershed.

The first episode of this year’s ITV talent contest, which was shown at 7pm on Saturday night and watched by more than 13 million people, was branded ‘totally unsuitable’ by outraged parents.

It has also emerged that contestant Keri Graham, whose provocative performance saw her stripping down to her underwear, writhing semi-naked on a chair and gyrating on Simon Cowell, is a professional stripper who has posted a series of raunchy pictures of herself on a ‘stripagram’ agency website.

Appearing on stage shortly after 7.30pm, the 43-year-old, who was joined at the audition by her husband and teenage son Callum, told the show’s judges and audience members that she teaches ‘chair fitness classes’, before launching into the routine and dancing to explicit song Freak Me, by Another Level.

A second act featured 11-year-old Arixsander Libantino performing a rendition of Jennifer Hudson song One Night Only, which features the lyrics: ‘You’ve got one night only, that’s all you have to spare, let’s not pretend to care, come on, big baby, come on, we only have ‘til dawn.’

Miss Libantino’s parents Aristotle and Elma, who are from the Philippines, and were watching off-stage, received a standing ovation from Simon Cowell and his fellow judges, but viewers immediately took to the internet to express their disgust that she was allowed to sing a song which featured such adult lyrics, with one member of the public condemning the show by branding it ‘Britain’s Got Sleaze’.

Helen Marianne from Eastbourne, wrote online: ‘The song this young girl sang was totally unsuitable for her age – She’s 11 for Heaven’s sake. However good her voice is, something much more appropriate should have been chosen for her. It gave me the creeps if I’m honest.’

Another wrote: ‘Marvellous isn’t it? Viewing images of children online is deemed wrong and rightly so, yet TV put up an 11-year-old girl who then sings a very adult-themed song. All very wrong. Her parents should not have condoned this.’

A further comment said: ‘The child was singing an adult song and should NOT have been allowed to sing it as it make her look like a Lolita.’

Viewers were equally appalled by Mrs Graham’s lapdance routine, with richbrownowl writing: ‘This show is pre-watershed, so the appropriateness of a half-naked woman doing a sexually provocative act needs to be called into question. This is a family entertainment show after all. No, I am not a prude.’

Another post read: ‘Nice Saturday night family viewing as your child asks, “Mummy, why has that lady got hardly any clothes on, and what is she doing with those men?” So even a simple talent show has to have some sleaze.’

Jojo Moyes added on Twitter: ‘I hate that lapdancer moves are somehow considered family entertainment.’ Former X Factor winner Steve Brookstein also condemned the show, saying: ‘Family entertainment and BGT have a lap dancer. Stay classy ITV.’

Both acts were put through to the next round of the talent contest, with contestants competing for the £500,000 prize money and a place in the Royal Variety Show, which will be performed in front of the Queen.

Stoning for adultery. Amputations for theft. Death for apostates. And second-class status for Christians and Jews. This is life under Sharia law, the Islamic system practiced in countries like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Great Britain.

Yes, Great Britain.

There are reportedly some 85 Sharia courts now operating there, with Islamic judges ruling on cases ranging from financial to marital disputes among British Muslims.

“We went into some proceedings and there were a couple of Islamic judges sitting up above the rest,” said Alan Craig, who recently stepped down as leader of the Christian Peoples Alliance party. “And there was one Muslim woman who was suing for divorce.”

Craig is a former city councilor in East London, home to several Sharia courts where women face open discrimination.

“A woman’s witness value is half that of a man,” Craig told CBN News. “So [the courts] will tend, therefore, to take the man’s position in a divorce.”

Craig is working with Baroness Caroline Cox to pass a bill in Britain’s House of Lords protecting women from this Sharia oppression.

Muslim women in Great Britain often face intimidation within their communities to settle things the Sharia way. According to Craig, some wrongly believe Islamic courts are their only option.

“What we’re trying to do is say, Muslim women, especially in this country, need to be informed,” he explained. “They actually have other rights and our view, better rights, under English law.”

Sharia courts operate outside of British common law. Their defenders say the courts are legal under a 1996 Arbitration Act that allows people to settle differences through methods of their own choosing.

The UK is an classic example of decades of Liberalism run amok.

What was a proud sovereign land, has seemingly degenerated into a shell of its former self, ripe pickings, as the Roman Empire was, for the barbaric horde.

Is it possible that what is happening in the UK, is a harbinger of America’s future?

The UK already allows homosexual marriage,has stringent gun control, and allows abortions, up to the 24 week s (6 months).

In fact, surveys show that Christians could be a minority in the UK by 2018.

The clash between the Muslim faithful and the unchurched of the UK should be horribly fascinating to watch.

Unfortunately, just like our blessed land…they have brought this upon themselves.

Gosnell, Peter Singer, and the Main Stream Media

fetus1The last few days, I have been writing about America’s Auschwitz, the Gosnell Case. As a Christian man, and the father of a special young lady, now in her 20s, I just could not wrap my head around the barbarism displayed by Gosnell and those in his profession, and the “good Nazi” mentality of the MSM and their fellow Liberals, who so blithely turn the other way to the unmitigated carnage, caused by these ‘doctors”.

Then, the name Peter Singer came to mind.

Peter Singer is an Australian philosopher and a visiting professor of bioethics at Princeton University. He also has worked as a lecturer at Oxford University, New York University, Monash University, the University of Colorado (Boulder), the University of California (Irvine), the University of Melbourne, and Princeton University’s Center for Human Values. Singer authored the 1975 book Animal Liberation, a landmark text that effectively launched the modern animal rights movement.

In his book, this lunatic claims that people should respect the moral worth of all animals…not on the basis of the animals’ intelligence, but instead, because of their ability to experience pain and suffering. He equates the denial of animals’ basic “rights” as a form of discrimination called “speciesism,” which he erroneously compares to racism and sexism.

According to Singer, it is wrong to value the life of human beings more than the lives of animals. Singer, an atheist, of course, rejects the scripture from Genesis that man has been given dominion over animals and that people are made uniquely in the image of God. He also believes that all animals have souls who are just as worthy of life. as ours’:

All three [of the foregoing axioms] taken together do have a very negative influence on the way in which we think about animals.

Singer goes on to explain that his mission is to challenge “this superiority of human beings”.

Singer, in 1979, wrote and published Practical Ethics, in which he continued his rant that animals are equal to human beings. He also states (hold on to something) that human parents should be legally permitted to kill a “severely disabled” infant up to 28 days after its birth if they deem the baby’s life unworthy of preservation.

According to this nutjob,

There are some circumstances…where the newborn baby is severely disabled and where the parents think that it’s better that that child should not live, when killing the newborn baby is not at all wrong.

Singer wrote an article for scotsman.com, in August of 2008. Here is an excerpt.

Abortion receives extensive coverage in developed countries, especially in the United States, where Republicans have used opposition to it to rally voters. But much less attention is given to the 86 per cent of all abortions that occur in the developing world. Although most countries in Africa and Latin America have laws prohibiting abortion in most circumstances, official bans do not prevent high abortion rates.

In Africa, there are 29 abortions per 1,000 women, and 32 per 1,000 in Latin America. The comparable figure for Western Europe, where abortion is generally permitted in most circumstances, is 12. According to a recent report by the World Health Organisation, unsafe abortions lead to the death of 47,000 women a year, almost all of them in developing countries. Restricting access to legal abortion leads many poor women to seek abortion from unsafe providers. The legalisation of abortion on request in South Africa in 1998 saw abortion-related deaths drop by 91 per cent. And the development of the drugs misoprostol and mifepristone, which can be provided by pharmacists, makes relatively safe and inexpensive abortion possible in developing countries.

Opponents will respond that abortion is, by its very nature, unsafe – for the foetus. They point out that abortion kills a unique, living human individual. That claim is difficult to deny, at least if by “human” we mean “member of the species Homo sapiens.”

It is also true that we cannot simply invoke a woman’s “right to choose” in order to avoid the ethical issue of the moral status of the foetus. If the foetus really did have the moral status of any other human being, it would be difficult to argue that a pregnant woman’s right to choose includes the right to bring about the death of the foetus, except perhaps when the woman’s life is at stake.

The fallacy in the anti-abortion argument lies in the shift from the scientifically accurate claim that the foetus is a living individual of the species Homo sapiens to the ethical claim that the foetus therefore has the same right to life as any other human being. Membership of the species Homo sapiens is not enough to confer a right to life.

We can plausibly argue that we ought not to kill, against their will, self-aware beings who want to continue to live. We can see this as a violation of their autonomy, or a thwarting of their preferences. But why should a being’s potential to become rationally self-aware make it wrong to end its life before it has the capacity for rationality or self-awareness?

We have no obligation to allow every being with the potential to become a rational being to realise that potential. If it comes to a clash between the supposed interests of potentially rational but not yet conscious beings and the vital interests of actually rational women, we should give preference to the women every time.

I know that I will be called a “‘Christianist’ Right Wing Reactionary Idiot”, by any Liberal, who happens to read this. But, frankly, Scarlett…well, you know.

I find it sadly fascinating that the Main Stream Media had to be forced by those of us in the New Media, to cover the Gosnell Case. They wanted, as sworn members of the Obama Propaganda Corps (pronounced “corpse”) to ignore Gosnell and his butchery, because it did not fit the safe, antiseptic version of the abortion procedure, which they have been pushing since before Roe vs. Wade.

What they have been slapped in the face with is a harsh reality. The Gosnell Case is one of American Infanticide. There is nothing that they can do to defend it.

I find it horrifying that there are Americans, who believe as Singer does, that we are no better than the toad in our front yard. Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable to “get rid” of us, while we are defenseless, in the same manner that an animal shelter gasses its unwanted animals.

Mankind wase given dominion over the animals. We Are different. Within each of us is that Divine Spark”, which eternally links us to the Creator. As King David said,

For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from Thee, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth. Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Thy book they were all written, The days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them. (Psalm 139:13-16)

Take time this Sunday to pray for our nation. God shall not be mocked.

“Suffer Little Children”…

In 2003, Illinois State Senator Barack Hussein Obama (peace be upon him), spoke in front of his colleagues in defense of the infanticide known as Late-Term Abortion…

I just want to be clear because I think this was the source of the objections of the Medical Society. As I understand it, this puts the burden on the attending physician who has determined, since they were performing this procedure, that, in fact, this is a nonviable fetus; that if that fetus, or child – however way you want to describe it – is now outside the mother’s womb and the doctor continues to think that its nonviable but there’s, lets say, movement or some indication that, in fact, they’re not just out limp and dead, they would then have to call a second physician to monitor and check off and make sure that this is not a live child that could be saved. Is that correct?

While The Lightbringer was in the Illinois State Senate, he opposed a state version of the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, a bill which would make sure that babies who survive abortions are given proper medical care.

This measure also protected babies who were “aborted” through a purposeful premature birth and left to die afterwards.

During Obama’s U.S. Senatorial Campaign in 2004, his opponent attacked him for supporting infanticide by voting against the above-mentioned bill. Obama responded by claiming that he had opposed the state bill because it lacked the neutrality clause found in the federal version.

The Chicago Tribune reported on October 4, 2004,

Obama said that had he been in the U.S. Senate two years ago, he would have voted for the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, even though he voted against a state version of the proposal.

During Obama’s 2008 run for President, he stood by those claims.

In March, 2008, during a Townhall Meeting in Western Pennsylvania, Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) said,

Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby. I don’t want them punished with an STD at age 16, so it doesn’t make sense to not give them information.

Of course, Barack Hussein Obama was elected President of the United States. When he was “radically changing” everything about our sacred land, blood was being spilled across the fruited plains. Especially, in that same state of Pennsylvania:

On February 18, 2010, the FBI raided the “Women’s Medical Society,”run by Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a butcher, euphemistically killing babies under the title of “Abortion Doctor”.

The FBi entered the office about 8:30 p.m. expecting to find to find evidence that it was illegally selling prescription drugs. What they found was America’s Auschwitz:

There was blood on the floor. A stench of urine filled the air. A flea-infested cat was wandering through the facility, and there were cat feces on the stairs. Semi-conscious women scheduled for abortions were moaning in the waiting room or the recovery room, where they sat on dirty recliners covered with blood-stained blankets. All the women had been sedated by unlicensed staff. They also found out that a patient had died there several months earlier.

Until 2009, Gosnell reportedly performed mostly first and second trimester abortions. But his clinic had come to develop a bad reputation, and could attract only women who couldn’t get an abortion elsewhere, former employees have said. “Steven Massof estimated that in 40 percent of the second-trimester abortions performed by Gosnell, the fetuses were beyond 24 weeks gestational age,” the grand jury states. “Latosha Lewis testified that Gosnell performed procedures over 24 weeks ‘too much to count,’ and ones up to 26 weeks ‘very often.’ …in the last few years, she testified, Gosnell increasingly saw out-of-state referrals, which were all second-trimester, or beyond. By these estimates, Gosnell performed at least four or five illegal abortions every week.”

On December 14, 2012, 20 innocent children and six staff members were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School by the psychopath, Adam Lanza. Lanza shot his mother in the head, then drove over to the school, where he opened fire. The mass murder ended, as Lanza saved Americans a bunch of money, when he blew his sick and twisted brains out at the scene.

Sandy Hook Elementary was a Gun-Free Zone.

On January 16, 2013, newly re-elected President Barack Hussein Obama, introduced a Gun Control plan, using an American Tragedy for political gain…

Speaking to an audience that included family members of those killed a month ago in the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, as well as children who wrote to Mr. Obama in the wake of recent episodes of mass violence, the president outlined a series of steps both political and administrative he says would limit access to guns and certain types of ammunition, make mental health care more attainable, and increase federal funds for both research and law enforcement.

Accompanied by Vice President Biden onstage, Mr. Obama acknowledged the difficulties of pursuing stricter legislation on gun laws, but said he would use “whatever weight this office holds” to achieve his agenda.

“Because while there is no law or set of laws that can prevent every senseless act of violence completely, no piece of legislation that will prevent every tragedy, every act of evil, if there’s even one thing we can do to reduce this violence, if there’s even one life that can be saved, then we’ve got an obligation to try,” he said. “This is our first task as a society: Keeping our children safe. This is how we will be judged. And their voices should compel us to change.”

Uh huh. Tell us another one, Scooter.

On January 22, 2013, Obama said,

On the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we reaffirm its historic commitment to protect the health and reproductive freedom of women across this country and stand by its guiding principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters, and women should be able to make their own choices about their bodies and their health care.

The Liberal mind is fascinating.  Sick and twisted…but, fascinating. On the one hand, Obama is saying that children are to be cherished and protected. I agree.

At, the same time, he stands by a woman’s right to kill her baby. I can hear the Liberals screeching right now.

That’s not a baby. It’s a fetus! it’s not the same thing! You chauvinist pig!

If cherishing God’s gift of life makes me a “chauvinist pig”, you’re darned skippy I am! Yay, pigs! Sooey! That’s not a puppy growing in there, y’all.

The blatant hypocrisy shown by Obama, his loyal minions in Congress, and the MSM, the Liberal pundits on TV and Radio, and ignorant “seminar” callers and posters on Conservative websites, in defense of Gun Control Confiscation and their silence regarding the American Auschwitz know as the Gosnell Case, is reminiscent of Germany in the 1930s…and positively chilling.

Remember last week, when MSNBC Host, and resident Communist, Melissa Harris-Perry proclaimed, 

…we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities. Once it’s everybody’s responsibility, and not just the household’s, then we start making better investments.

Evidently, for Obama and the rest of the Liberals, that only applies when the child is no longer a “punishment”.

The Gosnell Case: American Infanticide

babyreachingforhandfromwomb2[Where am I? This is April…not September.  What are all these bright lights? What’s that smell? I don’t understand. I was inside my mother, sucking my thumb, all nice and safe and warm. The next thing I know, I feel this pressure on either side of my head, and I was ripped out of my mother.

Why is this happening to me? I have a whole life ahead of me.

I deserve a Mother and a Father. I will never have those. Grandparents, either. Heck, I won’t even get to know my cousins.

I want to know what milk tastes like. I want to hold a Cheerio in my hand and put it in my mouth.  I want to know what it’s like to get my first tooth…to take my first step….to hear music for the first time. I want to hold a puppy. I want to have a first day in school. I want to have a best friend.  I want to ride a bike. I want to have a best friend and go out to play with them. I want to know what Christmas is all about. I want to watch cartoons. I want to love and be loved.

I want to fall in love. I want to experience my first kiss. I want to have my parents drop me and my date off at the movie and then pick us up. I want to play sports in school…or be an artist…or be a musician…or, just be a kid. 

I want to go to a pep rally. I want to dance at a prom. I want to get a report card. Heck, I want to taste a school lunch.

I want to graduate and go to college. I want to start work…and have a family.

On January 19, 2011, a Grand Jury released findings of its investigation into criminal wrongdoing at the Women’s Medical Society, a clinic operated in West Philadelphia, at 38th Street and Lancaster Avenue by Kermit B. Gosnell, M.D. The investigation was launched after drug agents raided the clinic and learned of the death of an abortion patient who suffered cardiac arrest after Gosnell’s employees gave her lethal doses of narcotics.

Gosnell staffed his decrepit and unsanitary clinic entirely with unlicensed personnel, let them practice medicine on unsuspecting patients, unsupervised, and directed them to heavily drug patients in his absence. In addition, he regularly performed abortions beyond the 24-week limit prescribed by law. As a result, viable babies were born. Gosnell killed them by plunging scissors into their spinal cords. He taught his staff to do the same.

The Grand Jury issued a presentment recommending criminal charges against Gosnell and his employees, including charges of murder against Kermit Gosnell, Lynda Williams, Adrienne Moton, and Steven Massof for killing viable babies born alive at the clinic, and charges of conspiracy to commit murder against these persons and Sherry West. Gosnell will also be charged with infanticide and performing illegal late-term abortions. Charged as coconspirators are Williams, West, and Pearl Gosnell, his wife.

With respect to the death of Karnamaya Mongar, Kermit Gosnell, Lynda Williams, and Sherry West are charged with third-degree murder, drug delivery resulting in death, drug violations, and conspiracy. Gosnell operated a corrupt criminal enterprise, for which the Grand Jury recommended racketeering charges against Kermit Gosnell, Lynda Williams, Sherry West, Adrienne Moton, Maddline Joe, Tina Baldwin, Pearl Gosnell, Steven Massof, and Eileen O’Neill. Massof and O’Neill, who pretended to be doctors, will be charged with theft by deception and conspiracy, with Gosnell, to deceive patients. Gosnell and Massof are also charged with conspiracy and drug violations for illegally dispensing narcotics.

The trial of abortionist Dr. Kermit Gosnell has begun. Yesterday,  a second woman from Delaware, who worked at the West Philadelphia abortion clinic, told the court yesterday that it was “standard procedure” to snip the necks of any babies who were delivered by patients before the abortion as a result of the labor-inducing drugs they took during the “procedure”.

According to Lynda Williams, 44, of Wilmington, Gosnell showed her how to flip the body of the baby over and snip its neck with a pair of scissors to ensure “fetal demise.”

The woman also offered testimony that, even when Gosnell was away frm that clinic, either running, swimming or working at a clinic in Delaware, she did as he showed her, taking a baby who was delivered in a toilet and coldly and without remorse, snipped its neck.

She then showed the jury how the baby jumped at having its neck snipped, by raising her arm.

Per Williams, she only snipped a neck the one time, “because it gave me the creeps.”

She explained to the jurors,

I only do what I’m told to do. What I was told to do was snip their neck.

Dr. Gosnell did not react to the testimony. He just calmly watched and occasionally took notes with a vague hint of a smile on his face from time to time.

All of the nurses and assistants who will testify in this trial will probably use what is known as the Nuremberg Defense:

I was just following orders.

Held for the purpose of bringing Nazi war criminals to justice, the Nuremberg trials were a series of 13 trials carried out in Nuremberg, Germany, between 1945 and 1949. The defendants, who included Nazi Party officials and high-ranking military officers along with German industrialists, lawyers and doctors, were indicted on such charges as crimes against peace and crimes against humanity. Nazi leader Adolf Hitler (1889-1945) committed suicide and was never brought to trial. Although the legal justifications for the trials and their procedural innovations were controversial at the time, the Nuremberg trials are now regarded as a milestone toward the establishment of a permanent international court, and an important precedent for dealing with later instances of genocide and other crimes against humanity.

How is the mass murder of these innocent American lives  any different than the “Final Solution” of the Nazis, which sent 6 million Jews and 5 million gypsies to the gas chambers? 

I know that there are some of you that read my blog that are non-believers.  For you and for my Christian brothers and sisters, I offer the following closing thoughts: 

There is a curious unique enzyme found in the human body.   Laminin is defined by the Webster Medical Dictionary as a “glycoprotein that is a component of connective tissue basement membrane and that promotes cell adhesion.”  In other words,a glue within the body.

Colossians 1:15-17 tells us:

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

I believe that our nation and our leaders should realize that you cannot mock God. With actions come consequences. You know, that “cause and effect” thingy that “the Smart people” are so found of bringing up.

Each and every life is precious to The Creator. That baby growing in her womb, is not the property of the mother. Each and every one of us belong to the One who made us. He is our Sovereign Lord.

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you…

All those who believe that “it is a woman’s right to choose”…think too highly of themselves.

For every life is a Gift from The Creator to be loved and cherished, as He first loved us.

And, this country, like every other country on the face of this Earth, sits under His judgement.

Gun Control: Heading Toward a National Gun Registry

guncontrolThe nation is buzzing with anticipatory dread, as the Senate gets ready to vote on new Gun Control Laws, which would require mandatory registration of law-abiding citizen’s firearms.

Yesterday, Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) took to the Senate Floor to issue a dire warning:

Some of the proposals, like for example- universal background checks- would allow the federal government to surveil law-abiding citizens who exercise their Constitutional rights. One of the provisions we expect to see in the bill based on what we saw in the Judiciary Committee- on which I sit- would allow the Attorney General of the United States (Eric Holder) to promulgate regulations that could lead to a national registry system for guns. Something my constituents in Utah are very concerned about, and understandably so.

…You see, the federal government has no business monitoring when or how often you go to church; what books and newspapers you read; who you vote for; your health conditions; what you eat for breakfast; and the details of your private life– including your lawful exercise of your rights protected by the Second Amendment and other provisions of the Bill of Rights.

Despite what the politicians are saying, these “harmless” Gun Control Laws could, in fact, lead to a National Gun Registry, which in turn, will eventually lead to Gun Confiscation.

And, Americans are getting ready for that eventuality.

Did you know that…

During Barack Obama’s presidency there have been 32 background checks for gun purchases every minute.

Since February of 2009, the first full month of Obama’s presidency, there have been 70,291,049 background checks for gun purchases, according to data released by the FBI.

Using February 1, 2009 as our starting date, and March 31, 2013 as our end date, (the latest data from the FBI) Obama has been president for 1,520 days.

That equates to 36,480 hours, or 2,188,800 minutes.

Divide the 70,291,049 background checks by 2,188,800 minutes and you get approximately 32 checks for gun purchases every minute!

American Liberals are fond of citing the UK’s Gun Control Laws as a model for America to follow after.

Here is a brief history:

In 1946 “self defense” was no longer considered a good reason for requiring a police issued firearms certificate. The slippery slope got even steeper.

In 1953 carrying any type of weapon for self defense was made illegal, making the streets even safer for the criminal element and giving great “crime control” soundbites to the police and press.

In 1967 a chap by the name of Harry Roberts blasted three policemen to death in a London street using a 9mm Luger pistol and the British government restricted shotguns for the very first time. Try to figure out the logic… handgun used… shotguns licensed for the first time in British history. Opportunistic, or am I just being a cynical bastard?

In 1982 black powder muzzle loader shooters and handloaders were required to allow police inspection of their security arrangements to ensure “safe storage” of the powder they possessed, meaning that agents of the state could demand entry into an Englishman’s home at any time of day or night without a warrant.

In 1988 all semi-automatic rifles were banned, including pump action rifles. The personal property of law abiding people was once again outlawed and seized. All the guns were registered and easy to find, that is to say, all the legally held ones.

In 1996 all handguns were banned and they too were all registered with the agents of the state. Well, need I say more? You get the picture. Also in 1996 carrying any knife with a blade longer than 3 inches was made illegal. Presumably one cannot stab someone to death with a three inch knife. You now had to show “good reason” for carrying a knife, the presumption of innocence, until proven guilty of a crime, was gone.

In England today you cannot carry any type of weapon for self defense and you cannot use a firearm to defend your home, family, or property. The gun and weapon laws have made crime safe for criminals and the other violent thugs and miscreants who infest our country today.

In 2006 the government passed the Violent Crime Reduction Act. The VCRA restricted all “realistic” toy/replica guns. Now Britons were not to be trusted with even imitation non-firing replicas. “Violent crime reduction” was once again used as the smokescreen to enact oppressive laws and deprive the law abiding of their property. As part of the VCRA an airgun can no longer be purchased by mail order and the name and address of the purchaser must be registered with the seller.

The following report was published by Townhall in December of 2012:

New data out from the UK, where guns are banned, shows gun crime has soared by 35 percent.

The Government’s latest crime figures were condemned as “truly terrible” by the Tories today as it emerged that gun crime in England and Wales soared by 35% last year.

Criminals used handguns in 46% more offenses, Home Office statistics revealed.

Firearms were used in 9,974 recorded crimes in the 12 months to last April, up from 7,362.

It was the fourth consecutive year to see a rise and there were more than 2,200 more gun crimes last year than the previous peak in 1993.

Figures showed the number of crimes involving handguns had more than doubled since the post-Dunblane massacre ban on the weapons, from 2,636 in 1997-1998 to 5,871.

Unadjusted figures showed overall recorded crime in the 12 months to last September rose 9.3%, but the Home Office stressed that new procedures had skewed the figures.

Okay. So, Gun Control has not stopped the criminals from getting Guns in the UK. What makes Obama and his minions think that more regulations are going to accomplish what the UK has not?

Are they that full of themselves that they think that, since they are the “smartest people in the room”, that failed methods will actually work this time?

Are they just doing something to be doing something, in order to save face with their Far Left supporters?

Or, is it something more malevolent than just everyday politics?

Here’s a quote from an organization that backs Obama all the way with his Gun Confiscation efforts…

…the right-wing extremists opposing all efforts to curb gun violence are the same forces that rallied behind Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, hoping to undermine every other democratic right as well as the living standards of workers and ordinary Americans. It is for that reason, as well as the need to protect public safety, that the same coalition of labor and its allies that worked so hard and effectively to re-elect President Barack Obama must now go all-out to back his common sense proposals for gun law reform.

As Obama has charged, the extremists recklessly “gin up fear” that the government is coming to take away hunting rifles and personal weapons owned for legitimate self-defense. Led by the hate-mongering leadership of the National Rifle Association, they use a totally fraudulent and only very recent interpretation of the Second Amendment which they falsely claim as necessary for protecting every other freedom contained in the Bill of Rights.

One of their unhinged spokesmen, Texas talk show host Alex Jones, launched a national petition drive to deport CNN commentator Piers Morgan for questioning the Second Amendment. Jones said the amendment “isn’t there for duck hunting. It’s there to protect us from tyrannical government and street thugs,” and then went on to threaten insurrection “if you try to take our firearms.”

Actually, the Second Amendment wasn’t enacted with any of these things in mind. The amendment was adopted as a means to enable the new American republic, lacking a standing army or state national guards, to muster militia to put down domestic uprisings, including slave revolts, to repulse any attempted return by the British and to deal with clashes with Native Americans on the expanding frontier.

These issues vanished long ago. The Second Amendment is obsolete and now has been twisted to threaten the basic safety and security of all Americans. There is no basis for claiming this amendment was intended to permit unregulated personal acquisition of firearms, including amassing military weapons and private arsenals for “protection” from the government. No government, especially one that is new and fragile, has ever authorized citizens to arm themselves against it.

As I have chronicled, in the last several months, this Gun Confiscation Movement comes right out of the playbook of Marx and Lenin.

“Smart Power” + North Korea = Kaboom!?

Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?

After 5 years of “Smart Power”, is America better off in the field of Foreign Policy?

No.

Let’s examine the wherefores and the whys, shall we?

I first knew that “Smart Power” was going to be neither smart, nor powerful, shortly after Obama was inaugurated.

On June 4, 2009, Obama spoke to the Muslim World at the University of Cairo, where he said,

I’ve come here to Cairo to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on mutual interest and mutual respect, and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles — principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.

I do so recognizing that change cannot happen overnight. I know there’s been a lot of publicity about this speech, but no single speech can eradicate years of mistrust, nor can I answer in the time that I have this afternoon all the complex questions that brought us to this point. But I am convinced that in order to move forward, we must say openly to each other the things we hold in our hearts and that too often are said only behind closed doors. There must be a sustained effort to listen to each other; to learn from each other; to respect one another; and to seek common ground. As the Holy Koran tells us, “Be conscious of God and speak always the truth.” (Applause.) That is what I will try to do today — to speak the truth as best I can, humbled by the task before us, and firm in my belief that the interests we share as human beings are far more powerful than the forces that drive us apart.

Now part of this conviction is rooted in my own experience. I’m a Christian, but my father came from a Kenyan family that includes generations of Muslims. As a boy, I spent several years in Indonesia and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and at the fall of dusk. As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith.

That speech, and the resulting perception that Obama was an appeaser, set the stage for “Arab Spring”.

“Arab Spring” busted out all over the Middle East in late 2010. Arab nations throughout North Africa and the Middle East saw Muslim Fundamentalist-led “grass-roots movements” “spring” up in an effort to replace their Moderate Muslim dictatorial governments with Muslim Fundamentalist-led groups, promising to install democratic systems within their countries. Some of these movements have been more successful than others, and overs are still blossoming, but, there is no doubt that the so-called “Arab Spring” has fundamentally transformed the Middle East.

Several factors led up to the Arab Spring. These factors include economic conditions, demographic trends, and the more obvious social and political influences.

These factors brought a newfound opportunity for the Muslim Brotherhood, giving them political leverage which they never had before.

The “Arab Spring” movement was sparked by a young Tunisian street vendor named Muhammad Bouazizi on 17 December 2010. Bouazizi, out of desperation over his harassment by local police, set himself on fire in front of the municipal building of Sidi Bouzid, the town where he lived.

From there, the revolution traveled to Egypt. And, the rest, as they say, is history…

Had the Arab Spring moved in the right direction, Obama would have been hailed as a strategic genius for his smart, low-cost management from the sidelines. The brutal reality, is, that it has moved toward instability, violence, dashed hopes, and the strengthening of the Muslim Brotherhood. As a result, people saw Barack Hussein Obama react as a president who became strangely disconnected and who at best just seemed to have other things to do. At worst, he seemed to have simply stopped caring about the volatile situation in the Middle East, almost as if the takeover of the Muslim Brotherhood was what he wanted to happen in the first place.

So, now that Obama has succeeded in getting our Middle Eastern Ally, Israel, surrounded by Muslim Extremists, what will he do for an encore?

Well, it appears that he is going to reunite North and south Korea…under the flag of Communism.

Kim Jong-il’s successor in December 2011, his third son Kim Jong-un,has turned to out to be just as big an unstable goofball, as his old man was.

He agreed to suspend long-range missile tests in order to receive US food aid in February 2012, only to turn right around and challenge the US by announcing that they were going to fire a “rocket-launched satellite” for April, to celebrate Kim Il-Sung’s birthday.

The launch failed, but in October 2012, the “Norks” responded to the unveiling of a new missile deal between Seoul and Washington by claiming to have missiles capable of hitting our shores. A December satellite launch served as a forewarning that North Korea is developing such rocket technology, and brought immediate condemnation from the UN, US, Japan and China.

In January 2013, right after the UN Security Council condemned the launch, North Korea announced that it planned to conduct a third “high-level nuclear test” and rehearse more long-range rocket launches aimed at the US “arch-enemy”. It proceeded to perform a third nuclear test in February 2013, followed swiftly by another set of UN Security Council sanctions on cash transfers and travel for its diplomats.

Undeterred, North Korea threatened South Korea and the USA with war and announced that it would restart all facilities at its main Yongbyon nuclear complex, including a reactor mothballed in 2007.

According to an Obama Administration official, the Norks may test fire mobile ballistic missiles at any time, based on the most recent intelligence showing Pyongyang probably has completed launch preparations.

According to a CNN Poll, 4 in 10 Americans view North Korea as an imminent threat to the United States.

However, just as he proved during “Arab Spring”, Obama does not “walk softly and carry a big stick”.

This wuss of a president speaks loudly and carries autograph DVDs of his speeches as peace offerings.

Melissa Harris-Perry: We Want to Add Your “Chirren” to the Collective.

Melissa Harris-Perry, who hosts a program on the weekends for the seldom-watched cable news network, appears in one of those ads, where she says the following:

We have never invested as much in public education as we should have, because we’ve always had kind of a private notion of children. So part of it is, we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities. Once it’s everybody’s responsibility, and not just the household’s, then we start making better investments.

Wonderful. She also molds young minds full of mush, filling them with Marxist Ideology.

Wait! Did KJ just say “Marxist”? You betcha.

The word collective, in Marxism, refers to, or has to do with, the Proletariat, the common worker, who owes everything to the State:  their life, their home, and, yes, even their family.

In fact…

Marx and Engels provided some hints in The Communist Manifesto concerning the social relations that would supersede the family. First,they discussed the status of children, whose exploitation they wanted to end.

They proposed the replacement of home education by social education Erziehung), which included, but encompassed far more than, sending children to public schools. The German term Erziehung entails not only formal education, but any training of children, including that normally given by parents. Marx and Engels reinforced their point further by assaulting the ‘bourgeois claptrap about the family and education, about the hallowed co-relation of parent and child’.

Furthermore, Engels in his draft for The Communist Manifesto articulated more clearly his vision for children in communist society: ‘The raising (Erziehung) of children together in national institutions and at national expense, from that moment on, in which they can dispense with the first motherly care’.

The child-rearing principles that Marx and Engels espoused were not original.

Fourier and especially Owen had already vigorously touted the superiority of the communal education of children and the removal of children from parental control and influence.

In other words, children would be raised by the government.

Just like Obama’s proposal for a Nationwide Government-funded Pre-school System, as explained on whitehouse.gov:

Expanding access to high quality early childhood education is among the smartest investments that we can make. Research has shown that the early years in a child’s life—when the human brain is forming—represent a critically important window of opportunity to develop a child’s full potential and shape key academic, social, and cognitive skills that determine a child’s success in school and in life.

Participation in high-quality early learning programs—like Head Start, public and private pre-K, and childcare—will provide children from disadvantaged backgrounds with a strong start and a foundation for school success. These programs also generate a significant return on investment for society; numerous economic studies have documented a rate of return as high as 18 percent on the program investment each year because of a reduced need for spending on other services, such as remedial education, grade repetition, and special education, as well as increased productivity and earnings for these children as adults.

President Obama’s comprehensive agenda invests in and strengthens early childhood education for our nation’s youngest children. It helps to prevent achievement gaps before they start, and invests from an early age in children as our most critical national resource.

 There’s that word “investment”, again. Are you beginning to see a pattern?

Biden and the New World Order

bidensmirkIn a speech, given last week, before the Import-Export Bank ,which has now gone viral, United States Vice-President “Crazy Uncle Joe” Biden said,

The task we have now is to actually create a new world order. Because the global order is changing again, and the institutions that have worked so well in the post-World War II era for decades, they need to be strengthened, and some have to be changed. So we have to do what we do best, we have to lead. We have to lead. We have to update the global rules of the road. We have to do it in a way that maximize benefits for everyone, because obviously, it’s overwhelmingly in our interest, this is not a zero sum game, it’s overwhelmingly in our interest that China prosper, that Mongolia prosper, that nations big and large, east and west, in Latin America and in Africa, prosper, because you know that old expression, they asked Willie Sutton why he robbed banks, he said ‘that’s where the money is.’ We want everybody to have a little money to make sure they can buy American products. So the paradox — so we don’t view, the President and I and Fred [Hochberg, President of the Export-Import Bank], we don’t view economic growth as a zero sum game here, that somehow we grow and it’s not in our interests if other powers grow as well. That’s the paradox of this new global order. So much of our success depends on the success of those with whom we compete.

Many political pundits have been  quick to respond with the explanation that he was talking about a competitive Global Economy, and how that competition is good for everybody involved.

Because they know that the “tin-foil hat crowd” will be quick to jump on that phrase with all kinds of conspiracy theories.

The question to be asked is: Can there ever be a “New World Order”?

I mean, the UN is already looking to stick its nose into the state of our firearms. What’s next?

The term “Globalization” describes the reality of increased technological, economic, and cultural inter-connectedness between nations. In a globalized economy, economic activity is unrestricted by time zones or national boundaries. Labor forces, ideas, knowledge, products, and services are shared between nations. This trend has been growing exponentially since the 1980s, as technological advances (most importantly involving the growth of the internet and advances in telecommunications) have made it very simple for people to travel, communicate, and do business internationally.

Proponents of globalization make the case that, since the 1980s, every nation that has grown in manufacturing output has also seen its per capita income increase. Nations open to trade tend to be much more prosperous than nations with closed economies and the increased wages created by globalization lead to reduced poverty and improved living conditions for all. (supposedly)

The most impressive example of this can be found in East Asia.

With this brave, new, inter-connected world, theoretically, it would only take one mega-maniacal billionaire to totally screw up the Global Economy.

For example…

George Soros set up the now famous Quantum Fund as one of the world’s first Hedge Funds. It took money from the wealthy and invested in risky but potentially highly profitable international deals.

It did very well out of the collapse of fixed exchange rates in the 1970s and the deregulation of global capital markets. By 1980, George Soros was worth more than £16.5 million and his fund £67 million. The stage was set for his intervention in the Exchange Rate Mechanism, a system established in 1979 for controlling exchange rates within the European Monetary System of the European Union(EU) that was intended to prepare the way for a single currency.

Around spring 1992, Soros had decided that the pound would have to be devalued because it had been pushed into the Exchange Rate Mechanism at too high a rate.

He knew that the Bundesbank was in favor of a devaluation of both sterling and the Italian lira and believed it would have to happen because of the disastrous impact that high British interest rates were having on asset prices.

Soros spent the next few months in preparation to profit from that devaluation. He borrowed sterling heavily, reportedly to the tune of £6.5 billion, and converted that into a mixture of Deutschmarks and French francs.

On Black Wednesday, September 16, 1992, Soros won his bet.  The UK Conservative government was forced to withdraw the Pound from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM) due to pressure by currency speculators, most notably Soros, himself.

In the following days, he took care of business, paying back what he borrowed and ending with a profit of around £1 billion.  At the same time, Soros bought as much as £350 million of British shares, gambling that equities often rise after a currency devalues.

He later admitted that his actions had benefited no one but himself.

With America’s economy struggling to recover, and American industry being taxed into oblivion, our American Corporations (you remember them, the ones who actually hire people?) have been hightailing it out of the country, to friendlier foreign locations. Even so, several European nations are worse off economically, than we are, and on the verse of anarchy.

With all of the instability in the world’s economic picture, it is not quite the rosy picture that Biden and his boss, The Lightbringer, want to paint it as.

Patrick Warren and My Friend Mike

rickwarrenAs I sit down to write this, I have just learned that Pastor Rick Warren’s youngest son, Patrick. committed suicide on Friday night. Warren is Pastor of Saddleback Valley Community Church, a mega-church, located out in California.

From all accounts, Patrick was a very nice 27 year old, who had suffered from mental illness for a long time, resulting in depession and suicidal thoughts.

According to a press release, issued by Saddleback Church,

Despite the best healthcare available, this was an illness that was never fully controlled and the emotional pain resulted in his decision to take his life,” the statement said. “We ask everyone to join us in praying for the entire Warren family and that God’s comfort and peace will be with them as they deal with this difficult situation.

As I mentioned above, Rick Warren is one of the best known Pastors in America. He has had two Best Sellers in The Purpose Driven Life and The Purpose Driven Church, which has been used by many pastors and church leaders as a blueprint on building a successful church.

Every seventeen minutes, someone in the United States commits suicide. Each day approximately 86 Americans commit suicide, and 1,500 people attempt suicide. Suicide is the nation’s eighth leading cause of death. For those 15-24 years of age, suicide is the third leading cause of death. More Americans, an estimated 31,000, kill themselves than are killed by homicide.

For every completed suicide, there are twenty-five attempted suicides. An estimated 750,000 suicide attempts annually affect the lives of millions of family members. The number of survivors grows 186,000 each year. For every suicide, at least six other people’s lives are affected.

I could not believe it, the other day, when I got in a discussion with a Libertarian on an Facebook Page. This young man insisted that

a) The pain that the individual is going through supercedes the selfishness of the act itself and all those family and friends who are left behind to suffer and grieve.

b) Suicide is merely an expression of individual freedom, and it is the business of the individual who is contemplating it, only.

When I could compose myself, I told the young man the story of my good friend Mike.

Mike dropped out of high school, got his GED, and enlisted in the Coast Guard, where he honorably served. He married a wonderful Christian girl, and became the father of two sons. Mike eventually landed a wonderful job, working nights as an air traffic controller, making well over 6 figures. is wife and sons, teenagers at the time, worshiped the ground he walked on. They were part of my extended family at the time. We celebrated the holidays together, and they considered my in-laws their surrogate parents. Mike and his wife had matching Harleys, which the drove over to my in-laws to show them off.

The world was Mike’s oyster, or so it seemed.

You see, Mike was battled an internal war with “princes and principalities”. He was what is called nowadays, bi-polar, or manic/depressive, as I’ve always called it.

Beneath the veneer of this easy-going family man, was a hedonist who immersed himself in pornography and gambling, unbeknownst to his wife.

Mike actually had been prescribed medicine for his illness, but, he stopped taking it, because as an air traffic controller, he was subject to random drug tests. He was afraid of his illness being found out about and, subsequently, losing his job as a result.

One day, Mike brought home some plastic pipes. When his wife as him what they were for, he told her that they were for fixing a drainage problem in their yard.

Shortly after that, his wife had to go out of town to care for her father, who had open heart surgery. On a cold December morning, Mike hugged the boys goodbye and put them on the school bus. He then loaded the pipes into the back of his white Chevy s10 pickup truck, along with some air conditioning insulation.

He drove down and parked beside a favor fishing spot, where he ran the pies from his exhaust, through the truck window. After putting insulation aroung the pip, he started the truck, popped in a cassette tape of his favorite tunes, and checked out. He was in his mid-30s.

It was three days before his wife and her twin sister’s birthday.

It is one of the most sad and selfish things I have ever witnessed in my 54 years.

It was soon discovered that Mike owed one of the casinos $180,000 in gambling debt, which they could not collect for his widow. It was also discovered that Mike had taken out 5 life insurance policies on himself. Only one of them would not pay his widow any money, due to his suicide.

His wife and sons wound up moving in with her parents, using some of the money Mike left to expand their house, to make room for them.

Mike left more collateral damage than that behind.

Before I started dating his mother, my stepson, who was 5, hung out over at Mike’s house all the time, and viewed Mike as a second father. When Mike killed himself, my steps-on was around 16. He was so devastated that he had to have counseling in order to deal with Mike’s death.

Is suicide the ultimate act of selfishness?

I think it is. As Christians, we are taught that it leads to estrangement from God.

Meanwhile, here in the material world, for those left behind, at least for a while, it leads to undeserved grieve and suffering.

Which only God can comfort.

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

May God comfort the Warrens and their family during this horrible time.
