Send in the Clown. Too Late. He’s President.

obamabullIn my post yesterday, I mentioned that overreaction by Obama’s sycophants, crying in their Gray Poupon, because a Rodeo Clown at the Missouri State Fair, had the temerity to come out and face the bull, wearing an Obama mask.

Well, as usually happens when whining Liberals get their knickers in a twist, the people that they are badgering, usually, eventually, give in to their interminable caterwauling, and the alleged “witch” gets burned at the stake.

Even, when they’ve done nothing wrong.

Missouri State Fair officials have banned for life the rodeo clown who wore a President Obama mask while facing bulls at the event over the weekend.

The clown in question engaged in an “unconscionable stunt” and will never perform at the Show Me state venue again, the Missouri State Fair Commission said Monday, in a statement. Fair officials are also reviewing their contract with the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association, the contractor responsible for hiring and overseeing bull ring clowns.

The performance was “inappropriate and not in keeping with the Fair’s standards,” said the statement.

The fair did not reveal the clown’s identity.

During a bull riding contest on Sunday, the clown appeared wearing a rubber mask of the president with an upside down broomstick trailing from his backside, as if it were a tail. The audience was asked, over a public address system, if it wanted to see Mr. Obama “run down by a bull.” Many people present clapped and cheered, according to one witness, Perry Beam.

“It was feeling like some kind of Klan rally,” said Mr. Beam.

Others defended the act as within the mainstream of rodeo ring entertainment. The clown was meant to be imitating a dummy, another witness, Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association member David Berry, told the Associated Press. Bull ring clowns often dress as sitting presidents, Mr. Berry said.

“The joke is not that it was the president. They drag out this person dressed like a dummy and all of a sudden this dummy just takes off running. That’s what’s funny,” Berry told AP.

Yep. However, that’s not the way that Obama’s stooges in the NAACP see it.

On Tuesday, the Missouri State National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) issued a statement asking for federal involvement in the case of a rodeo clown who wore an Obama mask and then asked the crowd if they’d like to see Obama run down by a bull. “The activities at the Missouri State Fair targeting and inciting violence against our President are serious and warrant a full review by both the Secret Service and the Justice Department,” said State President Mary Ratliff. “Incidents involving individuals acting out with extreme violent behavior in movie theaters, schools, churches, political appearances, and outdoor events in general speaks volume to the irresponsible behavior of all the parties involved with the incendiary events at the Missouri State Fair.”

Ratliff went on to condemn the state’s funding of the State Fair: “our Legislature has failed to support Medicare Expansion in Missouri, has consistently attempted to dismantle our Human Rights Commission, fail to adequately fund urban schools — (who) are predominately African American — yet they are subsidizing the Missouri State Fair to the tune of $400,000; we are calling for the subsidy to stop…[Governor Nixon’s] planned Pancake Breakfast for Thursday should be his ‘Last Supper’ at the Missouri State Fair in response to the racially intolerant attacks on his Commander in Chief.”

This garbage has spiraled waaay out of control. All the clowns at the Missouri State Rodeo are being forced to attend Sensitivity Training.

Hey, Libs! Why don’t you send all the thugs killing their own people up in Chicago every day to Sensitivity Training, instead? After all, a bullet hurts a heckuva lot more than an insult.

But, I digress…

Obama is not the first sitting president to be made fun of, by a Rodeo Clown, wearing a mask of his likeness…

…In 1994, Douglas A. Campbell, a writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer chronicled a rodeo clown even featuring George H.W. Bush.

From the report:

The big white gate flew open. The bull came out bucking. The rider flopped from side to side and the bullfighters held back, letting the bull make his moves until the rider dropped off. Licciardello crouched in a heavily padded barrel, a human target should the bull decide to charge. Hawkins waited near the barrel, holding his big inner tube. A dummy with a George Bush mask stood beside the clown, propped up by a broomstick. […]

T.J. Hawkins rolled out the big inner tube, and the bull lowered his head, shot forward and launched into the tube, sending it bounding down the center of the arena. The crowd cheered. Then the bull saw the George Bush dummy. He tore into it, sending the rubber mask flying halfway across the sand as he turned toward the fence, sending cowboys scrambling up the fence rails, hooking one with his horn and tossing him off the fence.

Of course, nothing was said about that. Heck, the Main Stream Media and all the Beltway Boys, Libs and Vichy Republicans alike, probably watched a tape of the performance over and over again, doubled up with laughter. Remember, these are the same idiots who supported ol’ What’s His Name from Saturday Night Live starring in a Broadway Show, featuring him doing his lousy “Dubya” impersonation. Libs also bankrolled a Comedy Central Television cartoon, making fun of the president, titled “Lil’ Bush.”

Ol’ Dubya was, and continues to be fair game, with Obama and the Libs blaming everything bad on him, from Obama’s horrible Economic Policies to Toenail Fungus.

So, why is a rodeo clown, wearing an Obama mask, being made out to be such a big, hairy deal?

Simple. As I wrote yesterday, it’s idolatry. Obama’s sycophants worship their false messiah, even in the fallen state in which he currently finds himself, almost 5 years into worst presidency in history.

The fact that he is America’s First Black President (second…if you count Bubba Clinton), adds the ability for his willing sla…err…servants to cry RAAACIIISM, whenever the truth is told about The Lightbringer.

Once, cries of  RAAACIIISM enter the picture,  forced Sensitivity Training is sure to follow, whether it is actually needed, or not.

The Constitution is being violated by the punitive actions that Liberals are taking, to make themselves feel superior

The First Amendment to our nation’s Constitution reads:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Liberals are under the mistaken belief that FREE SPEECH only applies to them.

Evidently, they have not been on the Internet lately.

Through their own ignorance, Obama’s sycophants have proven themselves to be simply more clowns in Obama’s clown car.

To paraphrase a famous movie quote,

Americans are mad as Hell and we’re not going to take it anymore.

Of Libertines and Idolators: Is America Becoming a Socialist Utopia?

obamaburningconstitutionYesterday, as is my habit, I was perusing over the Drudge Report. Three stories on Drudge caught my eye. I believe that they are a part of a plain…and disturbing pattern.

Please bear with me as I set the table, first. Then, we’ll play “Connect the Dots”.

First, there was the story of a precious little Black child praying. He was not praying to God, nor was he having a conversation with our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Oh no. He was praying to President Barack Hussein Obama.

“Barack Obama, thank you for doing everything and all the kind stuff,” the little boy, who identifies himself as Steven, says as he kneels down in typical praying fashion.

“You are good, Barack Obama. You are great and when you get older you will be able to do great things. Love, Steven,” the boy concludes.

Among his sycophantic followers, Obama is is a god. He is “holy”…the object of idolatry…and not to be mocked.  Don’t believe me? Read this story:

The Missouri State Fair on Monday imposed a lifetime ban on a rodeo clown whose depiction of President Barack Obama getting charged by a bull was widely criticized by Democratic and Republican officials alike.

The rodeo clown won’t be allowed to participate or perform at the fair again. Fair officials say they’re also reviewing whether to take any action against the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association, the contractor responsible for Saturday’s event.

The entertainment during the bull riding contest featured a clown wearing a mask of Obama with an upside down broomstick attached to his backside. Spectators were asked if they wanted to see “Obama run down by a bull.” Many in the audience responded enthusiastically.

Numerous Missouri officials denounced the act after video and photos were posted online. Some Democratic Missouri lawmakers suggested Monday that there should be financial consequences for the fair.

The fair said in a written statement announcing the clown’s ban that he had engaged in an “unconscionable stunt” that was “inappropriate and not in keeping with the Fair’s standards.” The fair’s press release did not identify the clown.

Now, this last story may not seem like it goes with the others. However, hold tight. I will explain what I am seeing that connects these three stories, after you read this one:

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced Monday that low-level, nonviolent drug offenders with no ties to gangs or large-scale drug organizations will no longer be charged with offenses that impose severe mandatory sentences.

The new Justice Department policy is part of a comprehensive prison reform package that Holder unveiled in a speech to the American Bar Association in San Francisco. He also introduced a policy to reduce sentences for elderly, nonviolent inmates and find alternatives to prison for nonviolent criminals.

Justice Department lawyers have worked for months on the proposals, which Holder wants to make the cornerstone of the rest of his tenure.

“We must face the reality that, as it stands, our system is, in too many ways, broken,” Holder said. “And with an outsized, unnecessarily large prison population, we need to ensure that incarceration is used to punish, to deter and to rehabilitate — not merely to warehouse and to forget.”

“A vicious cycle of poverty, criminality and incarceration traps too many Americans and weakens too many communities,” Holder said Monday. (Excerpts of his ­prepared remarks were provided Sunday to The Washington Post.) He added that “many aspects of our criminal justice system may actually exacerbate these problems rather than alleviate them.”

It is clear that “too many Americans go to too many prisons for far too long and for no truly good law enforcement reason,” Holder said. “We cannot simply prosecute or incarcerate our way to becoming a safer nation,” he added later in the speech.

Holder is calling for a change in Justice Department policies to reserve the most severe penalties for drug offenses for serious, high-level or violent drug traffickers. He has directed his 94 U.S. attorneys across the country to develop specific, locally tailored guidelines for determining when federal charges should be filed and when they should not.

Now, let’s play “Connect the Dots”.

The leader of the radical socialist Bolshevik movement that toppled the czarist regime in Russia, in 1917, and head of the first government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (U.S.S.R.), Vladimir Lenin, suffered a stroke in May 1922; a second one, more debilitating, came in March of the following year. This stroke left him mute and ended his political career. When Lenin Died, in Moscow on the evening of January 21, 1924, the Russian people reacted with shock and near-hysterical grief.

The New York Times reported that “it is the general opinion that Lenin’s death will unify and strengthen the Communist Party as nothing else could do. No one who knows them both doubts that Trotsky and Stalin will bury the hatchet over his grave.”

As usual, the New York Times was wrong.Stalin worked quickly to control the situation, encouraging the deification of Lenin, who before his death had called for Stalin s dismissal?while simultaneously working to discredit (and eventually destroy) Trotsky and the rest of his rivals in the Politburo. By 1930, Stalin stood alone at the head of the Soviet state, with all the terrifying machinery Lenin’s revolution had created, at his disposal.

Stalin’s encouragement of the deification Lenin gained him the naive support of the Russian people. Little did they know what they were in for.

Regarding the last story…what better way for Obama to cement himself as the “People’s President”, than to ingratiate himself to those whose “personal pleasure” is of utmost importance to them?

And, what better way to discourage entrepreneurship and work ethic among the populace, setting the stage for the continued advent of a Socialist Utopia?

In conclusion, by playing “Connect the Dots”, with the above stories, one can extrapolate a common thread: All three of them have to do with the direction in which Obama and his Administration wish to take America.

Marx, Lenin, and Stalin would be very proud.

Amnesty and the Economy: A Juan Valdez Overload

Gallup.com reports that

Americans’ confidence in the economy in July was the lowest it has been in any month since April. Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index slipped to -12 last month, down from -8 in June and -7 in May — with the May reading representing the most positive monthly average since Gallup began tracking economic confidence daily in 2008. Still, consumers’ confidence remains higher than the -16 reading in March — the lowest monthly score this year — which encompassed the public’s reaction to the automatic budget cuts that took effect as part of sequestration.

Also, according to Gallup, 35% of Americans say that Economic Conditions are Poor, Only 19% of Americans believe that Economic Conditions are Good. 42% of Americans believe that things are getting better. 53% of us believe that things are still in their descent down the ol’ porcelain receptacle.

Meanwhile, out on Martha’s Vineyard, our Slacker-in Chief invited the Press to watching him play around of golf…AFTER he had the First Dog, Bo, airlifted, all by his lonesome, via helicopter to join the rest of the family on vacation…the Obamas’ SIXTH Luxury Vacation of the year.

So, while the majority of working class Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck, the Obamas and the rest of the New Aristocracy, are living the High Life in their Beltway Bubble, up on their own “Mount Olympus”,

And, like the gods of old, they “know what’s best” for us mere mortals.

These Omnipotent Olympians actually claim that AMNESTY will help America’s Economic Plight.

Recently, brilliant American Economist and Political Pundit, Dr. Thomas Sowell, was interview by Laura Ingraham, on her syndicated radio program. Here is what he had to say about Amnesty and the Economy:

That’s incredible. I mean —first of all to an economist, it is incredible to speak about shortages without talking about prices, in this case wages…You know there, there have been so many predictions of shortages of so many occupations and the shortages don’t materialize. And why not? Because if there is a shortage, the wage rate goes up. That attracts in more people and lo and behold, the jobs are filled.

In agriculture, the farmers would obviously prefer to get workers who get low pay rather than workers they have to pay a higher wage. And as long as there are an unlimited supply of farm workers coming in from Mexico, they will never have to raise the wages very much. They say Americans won’t do these jobs. These are jobs Americans have done for generations, if not centuries. And it’s a time when millions of Americans are out of work, and are looking for any kind of work. And so this is utter nonsense.

…They constantly talk about immigrants in the abstract. You know, there are no such thing as abstract immigrants. There are immigrants from country a, b, c, d. They are radically different. People coming in from some countries almost never go on welfare. Immigrants coming in from other countries go on welfare to a great extent. If we’re going to have a rational immigration policy, then we have to be able to decide what people, what countries, what occupations — things like that, instead of rushing everything through.

The other main thing though is that if we don’t control the borders, we don’t have an immigration policy because regardless of what policy you put on paper, if people can just walk across the border when they darn well please, then your policy means nothing. The other thing that bothers me is the Republicans seem to think we will give — illegal immigrants citizenship if they do a, b or c. Democrats say x, y and z. I don’t know why we need promise anybody citizenship before we get control of the borders and have time to sit down and think and look at the facts, and then try to draw up some rational policy.

Dr. Sowell, sir, I believe that Rationality and the New Aristocracy, including the Vichy Republicans, took divergent paths a long time ago.

All weekend long, Drudge has been reporting that the Democrats claim to have enough Republican votes in the house to push through a “Path to Citizenship” Law, or AMNESTY.

My concerns about this whole “Path to Citizenship” business, can be divided into four bullet points. (Hey, I’m a VP of Marketing. What do you expect?)

1. Patriotism – Will these new “citizens” be willing to fly our flag above theirs? Will they be willing, if called upon, to serve in our Armed Forces, at home or abroad? Will they love this country, more than the one they left?

2. Loyalty – When these “new Americans” achieve the right to vote, are they all going to vote Democrat, so that they can receive more FREE STUFF? Is the Republican Party shooting themselves in both feet by pushing an outcome which will simply add new Democratic Voters? As I asked in the first point, will they honestly embrace our sovereign nation as their new home? Or, will they remain loyal to Mexico?

3.  Immigration – Are we rewarding illegal behavior, while at the same time, insulting all of the brave souls who have come here legally, seeking a better life for themselves and their families?

4. Economy – Our anorexoc economy cannot afford to take on more “tradesmen” and/or unskilled laborers. What we need are more entrepreneurs and business executives.

I understand that people want a better life for themselves and their children.  We are all immigrants in this land, except for American Indians, and they got here by crossing the Bering Straight.  But there is a huge difference between immigrating here legally and sneaking in illegally, between assimilating into an existing culture, and insisting on replacing a country’s existing culture with that of the country you left.

I’m all for assisting anyone in becoming a legal citizen of the United States, if that is their wish.  But, it must be done the right way, and they must accept responsibility for their illegal entry, show a willingness to learn our language, and embrace our American way of life, including respecting the American Flag.

So, let’s take this one step at a time.  Secure our borders.  Enforce the anti-illegal immigration laws.  And if the Federal Government won’t, the states, like Arizona, will have to pass their own laws.  America became a great nation because it is a melting pot of American-born and legally-immigrated citizens with a shared allegiance, not a multi-cultural United Nations with everyone loyal to their home country.

A wide-open Southern Border is as big a threat to the sovereignty of the United States as anything that our enemies can throw at us right now.  All of OUR SERVANTS, up on Capitol HIll, need to quit playing political games.  The safety of America is at stake .  SECURE THE BORDER NOW.

Ohh…and, one last thing…ATTN House Republicans! If you vote for Amnesty, I hope you have a trade to fall back on., because AMERICANS will fire you as soon as possible.

Obama Gives Money to Syrian Rebels, Threatens to Cut OUR Veterans’ Services

veteranflagand wheelchairIt has been a long, hot summer. Especially for those Americans, who have been punished by our Petulant President’s “Sequester”.

According to the White House Office of Management and Budget, om a memorandum they sent to House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner in February, Obama’s Sequester will cut $55 billion from defense in 2013 and $27 billion from the non-defense discretionary budget.

  • Defense 
  • * A reduction in readiness of many non-deployed units
  • * Delays in investments in new equipment and facilities
  • * Cutbacks in equipment repairs
  • * Declines in military research and development efforts
  • * Reductions in base services for military families
  • Non-Defense
  • * Education grants to states and local school districts supporting smaller classes, after-school programs, and children with disabilities would suffer.
  • * Number of FBI agents, Customs and Border Patrol agents, correctional officers, and federal prosecutors would be slashed.
  • * FAA’s ability to oversee and manage the nation’s airspace and air traffic control would be reduced.
  • * Department of Agriculture’s efforts to inspect food processing plants would be curtailed.
  • * Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to protect the water we drink and the air we breathe would be degraded.
  • * National Institutes of Health would have to halt or curtail scientific research, including needed research into cancer and childhood diseases
  • * Housing programs and food assistance for low-income families would be cut

Those threats and disruptions are still not enough for our Petulant Present. Now, he has to try to intimidate our Brightest and Best, in hopes that they will put pressure on their Republican Representatives, to allow Obama cart blanche to spend OUR money as he darn well pleases.

Fox News reports that

President Obama took his case for ending the sequester to hundreds of disabled veterans Saturday, saying he protected their benefits from the “reckless” cuts to the federal budget but suggesting next year might be different.

“It’s hurting our military. I made it clear that your veteran’s benefits are exempt from this year’s sequester,” the president said to the applause of hundreds at the Disabled American Veterans’ convention in Orlando, Fla. “But I want to tell you going forward the best way to protect the VA care you have earned is to get rid of this sequester altogether.”

The president but the blame squarely on Congress, which returns in about four weeks to work on a new federal budget and increasing the federal debt limit.

“We’ve got these reckless, across-the-board budget cuts called the sequester that are hitting a lot of folks hard,” Obama said. “Congress needs to come together and agree on a responsible plan that reduces our deficit and keeps our promises to our veterans and keeps our promises to future generations.”

The cuts went into effect in March after Congress and the White House failed to agree on a more balanced plan to cut government spending.

Some Republicans have meanwhile said the president shares in the responsibility, considering he signed the 2011 Budget Control Act that raised the debt ceiling and led to sequester.

The president also told the veterans the government is making progress in reducing the backlog of disability claims but acknowledged the slow pace.

“It hasn’t gone as fast as I’ve wanted,” he said.

The staggering backlog of disability claims for compensation for illness and injury caused by military service has been a main concern for veterans.

The number of claims waiting to be processed ballooned under Obama, largely because the administration made it easier for Vietnam veterans who were exposed to the Agent Orange defoliant to get benefits.

However, Obama always seems to find some of OUR money to give his friends….

Israel National News reports…

U.S. President Barack Obama announced on Wednesday [of last week] that the United States would increase the humanitarian aid it provides to civil war torn Syria.

In a statement on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the month of Ramadan, Obama announced more than $195 million in additional humanitarian assistance to provide life-saving food, medical care, and relief supplies for people affected by the ongoing conflict in Syria.

The new contribution brings U.S. humanitarian aid to over $1 billion dollars since the Syrian crisis began, noted the statement.

“The United States remains the single-largest contributor of humanitarian assistance for the people of Syria. The United States is providing humanitarian aid to help 3.5 million people across all 14 governorates in Syria and continues to work through all possible channels to deliver aid to those in need in Syria, including through the United Nations, international and non-governmental organizations, and local Syrian organizations,” said the statement.

The new U.S. humanitarian assistance includes over $155 million to increase food assistance, expand life-saving emergency medical capacity, and provide additional hygiene kits, clothing, and household supplies in Syria.

U.S. assistance will also increase gender-based violence response services and referral through women’s health centers, mobile clinics, and outreach teams providing health and psychosocial services in Syria, including home-based support to vulnerable women and children.

“This new funding also includes nearly $41 million to provide food vouchers, in-kind food distributions, and ready-to-eat meals for approximately 245,000 refugees in camps and host communities in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, and Egypt,” said the statement.

“The United States supports and appreciates the countries hosting the nearly 1.9 million refugees who have fled the brutal conflict in Syria and commends host-nation efforts to provide protection, assistance, and hospitality to all those fleeing violence. The United States recognizes the significant strains on host communities and the economic impact of providing refuge to such a large number of people. We call on all host governments to keep their borders open to all those still fleeing violence in Syria.”

Several months ago, Obama announced an extra $155 million dollars to aid refugees fleeing what he said was “barbarism” propagated by the Assad government against Syrians.

Meanwhile it remains unclear whether the U.S. is providing military assistance to the rebels fighting President Bashar Al-Assad.

Uh Huh. Oh…it seems pretty clear to me, my friends.

It all has to do where President Barack Hussein Obama’s Priorities and Allegiances lie.

The New Aristocracy, The New Tea Party, and Divine Providence

WashingtonPrayingThe America, which our fellow countrymen fought and died for, is in peril. There is a growing discontent in the air…a palatable division, between those who roam the Halls of Power with impunity, and those of us in America’s Heartland, who are simply trying to live our everyday lives, excising our rights to continue our American Christian Heritage, while working hard, in an attempt to provide for our families and secure the continuance of the American Dream for our children and grandchildren.

This division between average Americans, and our elected representatives, who are no longer serving us, but are, instead, blatantly serving themselves, has taken a while to come about.

To some extent, it has always been so, since the formation of a our sovereign nation,comprised of weary travelers from faraway lands, who had escaped to these shores, seeking a refuge from the tyranny and oppression of despotic rulers.

They sought FREEDOM.

Our Founding Fathers made the case for American Freedom quite eloquently in the Declaration of Independence, which states…

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Heady words, to be sure. Inspiring words, which brought about the birth of a new nation, conceived in LIBERTY

Those left behind in Europe, took notice, and, began to act, attempting to secure FREEDOM and LIBERTY for themselves.

The French Revolution was sparked by our American Revolution, in which we threw off the yoke of tyranny, and established a representative form of government.

Between 1789 and 1802 France was torn apart by a revolution which wound up radically changing the government, administration, military and culture of the nation. This upheaval also affect those nations around France, sparking a series of wars around the European Continent. Because of this revolution, France went from a largely feudal state, suffering under the thumb of a despotic monarch, to a republic which executed the king, and, finally, to an empire ruled by another despot, Napoleon Bonaparte.

So, why have other nations, such as France, failed? Why did our Founders succeed?

The answer can be found in the last paragraph of that self-same Declaration of independence…

Our Founding Fathers would not have succeeding in throwing off the yoke of tyranny, without relying on the providential nature of Our Creator.

Fast forward to today, and the division between us and the self-serving professional politicians, occupying the Halls of Power in our nation’s capital.

As our forefathers experienced, we are presently under the thumb of a government, which is traveling in an opposite course from the overwhelming majority of its citizens. What makes our present situation intolerable, is the fact that , those who believe that they are “over us”, were actually chosen by us, to be our public servants.

These “Public Servants”, through the corruption of power and avarice, have become a New Aristocracy, answerable, or so they believe, only to themselves.

We have an opportunity in front of us, Americans…and choices to make. We can either throw off this Marxist-inspired, tyranny and corruption, which we find ourselves under, relying only on our own limited devices, or we can return to the Faith of our Fathers, the Divine Providence which secured our AMERICAN FREEDOM for us in the first place. History has shown us what happens when men endeavor to strike out on our own: We usually wind up back under the tyranny of men, instead of the Sovereignty of God.

God has given us a remarkable system of government. We have the opportunity in 2014, to “muck out the stalls” in Washington, DC. Our “hoses,shovels, and brooms” will consist of the tools given to us by our Creator, enumerated in our Founding Documents: Freedom of Speech, Freedom to Assemble, and the Right to Vote.

Do you remember what happened in November of 2010?

Americans, through a groundswell movement, which became known as the Tea Party, named so in honor of the American Revolution, changed the make-up of Congress.

What we did not count on, was the fact that

Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely.

Hence, it is time to begin a New Tea Party Movement, not just relying on our own limited devices, but, as our Founding Fathers before us,

with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.

A Matter of Faith: The Story of the Angelic Priest

angel1Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. – Hebrews 13:2 (ESV)

Did you know that the word “angel” comes from the Greek word aggelos, which means “messenger”? The matching Hebrew word mal’ak has the same meaning.

Sometimes, the Bible uses these words for human beings:

ordinary people who carry messages (Job 1:14; Luke 7:24; 9:52)

prophets (Isaiah 42:19; Malachi 3:1)

priests (Malachi 2:7)

church leaders (Rev 1:20)

Sometimes, the Bible speaks figuratively of things or events as “messengers”…

the pillar of cloud (Exodus 14:19)

pestilence or plagues (2 Samuel 24:16-17)

Usually, though, the word describes the whole range of spirits whom God has created, including both good and evil angels, and special categories such as cherubim, seraphim, and the archangel.

Angels are mentioned at least 108 times in the Old Testament and 165 times in the New Testament.

When human beings see angels, they generally appear in the form of men. In Genesis 18, Abraham welcomed three angelic guests who appeared at first to be nothing more than some travellers. In the following chapter, two angels went to Sodom where they were assumed to be simply a pair of human visitors.

With the possible exception of one passage in Zechariah 5:9, angels always appear as males rather than females (Mark 16:5).

Of course, those of us raised in Christian Homes, have been told of God’s angels all of our lives. Our parents and grandparents have told us that we have a Guardian Angel, assigned by the Lord, to watch over us.

The unchurched among us, learned of Angels through the television series “Touched By an Angel” featuring Della Reese and Roma Downey, who recently produced a series on the Bible for The History Channel.

That televison series about angels started a countrywide fascination with them, leading to all sorts of angel-themed merchandise sales, and what seemed like a nationwide fit of idolatry of them, in which Americans seemed to lose sight of the fact that angels are our servants, assigned to watch over us by their…and our…Master.

A story out of Center, Missouri exploded over all of the Internet yesterday, which has set tongues wagging, as Americans discuss their faith…or lack thereof.

KHQA-TV is reporting a story that seems virtually unbelievable. After Aaron Smith, 26, struck Katie Lentz, 19, in a head-on car crash on Sunday morning, authorities claim they began a long rescue process. After 60 minutes of trying to get Lentz out of the vehicle (she was pinned between the steering wheel and the seat), rescue crews, at Lentz’s request, prayed out loud for the trapped woman.

And that’s when a mystery priest allegedly appeared. According to accounts, he came out of nowhere and brought intense calm upon the situation.

“He came up and approached the patient, and offered a prayer,” New London Fire Chief Raymond Reed told KHQA-TV. “It was a Catholic priest who had anointing oil with him. A sense of calmness came over her, and it did us as well.”

Considering how many people were at the scene and interacting with the mystery faith leader, the story is a fascinating one.

“I can’t be for certain how it was said, but myself and another firefighter, we very plainly heard that we should remain calm, that our tools would now work and that we would get her out of that vehicle,” the firefighter added.

Now here’s where things get weird. After another fire department showed up, the rescue proceeded easily and the tools worked, as promised. But when nearly a dozen firefighters turned around to thank the priest, he was gone; the road was empty. Considering that the road was blocked off for a quarter of a mile during the rescue and that no cars were around, the scenario, on the surface, seems a bit bizarre.

Lentz’s friends and family want to thank the priest, but, so far, he’s nowhere to be found.

“Where did this guy come from?” Travis Wiseman said, speaking rhetorically about the faith leader . “We’re looking for the priest and so far, no one has seen him. Whether it was a priest as an angel or an actual angel, he was an angel to all those and to Katie.”

Smith has been charged with a DWI, second degree assault and failure to drive on the right side of the road. And the search for the priest forges on.

As I was hanging out at my favorite Conservative website, hotair.com, the inestimable…and atheistiic…AllahPundit, posted the story of the Angelic Priest. It was fascinating to read all the comments of the posters there.

Even though 78% of us Americans proclaim Jesus Christ as our Personal Savior, and 92% of us believe in God, there are still those among us, both believers and non-believers, who have trouble accepting a supernatural event may have occurred Sunday Morning.

I can understand why. The idea of an omnipotent God, filled with love and concern for each one of us, is difficult for our tiny human minds to comprehend at times.

People have a hard time grasping the fact that, as ol’ Billy Shakespeare wrote,

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy. – Hamlet (1.5.166-7)

Man has struggled with the reality of God, ever since Adam said to Eve,

I’ll Bite.

And, nowadays, our Christianity is being challenged like never before in this nation, given to us by God, by a dark, libertine culture, where man is his own god, morality is relative and ethics are situational.

Seeking answers, non-believers and those who have wandered away from their American Christian Heritage, turn to whatever they feel will work for them; including, but not limited to, their Horoscope, Buddhism, EST, Self-realization, or substance abuse.

Eventually though, they find that those finite things, cannot fill the gaping hole in their heart. Only the infinite love of the One who became the expiation for their sins can make them complete, and wash them white as snow.

The story of the Angelic Priest causes us all to reflect on our own faith or, as I said before, our lack thereof.

Congress Now Exempt From Obamacare. If It’s Good Enough For us…?

pelosigavelA long time ago, within the hallowed Halls of Power, a bunch of self-serving politicians took a vote to decimate the greatest Healthcare System in the World. The vote, taken in the middle of the night, went the way they wanted, putting into effect a Government-run Socialized Healthcare System in a Constitutional Republic. Those that passed it were so proud of what they had done, that they paraded through the “unwashed masses”, holding their symbol of power, an over-sized gavel, smiling like jackasses eating yellow- jackets.

As reality struck their constituents, as to what the people who were supposed to represent their wishes had done, a groundswell movement began to form, taking upon themselves the name of “The Tea Party Movement, in honor of those revolutionaries, centuries ago, who expressed their displeasure with a tyrannical, over-taxing king, by tossing crates of English Tea off of a sailing vessel, into Boston Harbor.

Through this Groundswell Movement’s efforts, the minority political party in the nation, became the majority political party, sweeping the 2010 Mid-term Elections, on the promise of lower taxes and the appeal of the Government-run Socialized HealthcareSystem, which had become “affectionately” known as Obamacare.

As time went on, these public servants, elected to power by the acclamation of the over-taxed, seemed to steadily forget why they were elected to their Congressional Seats. They began to exhibit behaviors more in line with the Old Guard of their political party, instead of attacking the issues with the ferocity of Young Lions, as they promised to, if the voters would elect them.The reaching across the aisle and “bi-partisanship” of the two political parties, who are supposed to be political adversaries, has become so widespread, that they seem to be beginning to merge into one political party, much to to frustration and consternation of the voters who sent them to the Halls of Power to represent them, not themselves.

As now, as voters’ disillusionment with the whole dadblamed political system is at its highest, along comes the ultimate insult:

In a ruling issued on Wednesday, U.S. lawmakers and their staffs will continue to receive a federal contribution toward the health insurance that they must purchase through soon-to-open exchanges created by President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law.

The decision by the Office of Personnel Management, with Obama’s blessing, will prevent the largely unintended loss of healthcare benefits for 535 members of the Senate and House of Representatives and thousands of Capitol Hill staff.

When Congress passed the health reform law known as Obamacare in 2010, an amendment required that lawmakers and their staff members purchase health insurance through the online exchanges that the law created. They would lose generous coverage under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

The amendment’s author, Republican Senator Charles Grassley, argued that if Obamacare plans were good enough for the American public, they were good enough for Congress. Democrats, eager to pass the reforms, went along with it.

But it soon became apparent the provision contained no language that allowed federal contributions toward their health plans that cover about 75 percent of the premium costs.

This caused fears that staff would suddenly face sharply higher healthcare costs and leave federal service, causing a “brain drain” on Capitol Hill.

But Wednesday’s proposed rule from the OPM, the federal government’s human resources agency, means that Congress will escape the most onerous impact of law as it was written.

The OPM said the federal contributions will be allowed to continue for exchange-purchased plans for lawmakers and their staffs, ensuring that those working on Capitol Hill will effectively get the same health contributions as millions of other federal workers who keep their current plan.

In other words, the same idiots who foisted this travesty of a Government-run Socialized Healthcare System, called Obamacare on us, are now exempt from it.

So, Government Bureaucracy and Death Panels are good enough for us, but not for them?

I thought that the Republican Leaders in the House and Senate wanted to defund this monstrosity, not be exempt from it. Who are they working for…themselves?

If Cryin’ John Boehner and the rest of the Vichy Republicans don’ call the whole Congress out on this latest development, than they are no better than San Fran Nan Pelosi and the rest of the Marxist/Alinsky-ite Democrats

They are drinking from the same through of grape Kool-Aid.

Our Founding Fathers envisioned Congress as being filled with public servants, who would be elected by their community to represent them in our Federal Government, serve out their term, and then go back home and resume their normal lives.

Over the years, public service has degenerated into selfish avarice. The “citizen servant” has become the professional politician, running for office time and time again. until their literally keel over and die on the House or Senate Floor.

What started out as altruistic servitude, usually winds up being unbridled, self-serving corruption.

yes, there are still some “citizen servants”, but, at least in this day and age, the seem to be few and far between. It seemingly does not take very long for wide-eyed good-hearted freshmen Representatives and Senators, to become jaded, self-serving political hacks, who only seem to care about their constituency’s concerns when it is during their next campaign.

To those, like Ted Cruz, who seem genuinely concerned about defunding Obamacare…thank you for working on behalf of the American people.

To the Vichy Republicans, please follow up on your numerous promises to do the same.

It would behoove you to speak out about this double standard and continue to work on defunding Obamacare.

…as if your jobs depend on it.

Oprah, Emmett, and Trayvon: The Rich, The Innocent, and The Lost

The other day, during a television interview, Talk Show Queen and Obama sycophant Oprah Winfrey made the following statement…

It’s so easy during this time, Trayvon Martin, Trayvon Martin parallel to Emmett Till, let me just tell you. In my mind, same thing. But you can get stuck in that and not allow yourself to move forward and to see how far we’ve come.

Let’s examine both stories, shall we?

Emmett Till grew up in a working-class neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. Even though he had attended a segregated elementary school, he was unprepared for the level of segregation he encountered in Mississippi. His mother warned him that race relations were different where his cousins lived, but Emmett enjoyed pulling pranks. On August 24, while standing with his cousins and some friends outside a country store in Money, Mississippi, Emmett bragged to his buddies that his girlfriend back home was white. Emmett’s friends did not believe him, and dared Emmett to go ask the white woman sitting behind the store counter for a date.

Emmett went in, bought some candy, and on the way out was heard saying, “Bye, baby” to the woman. There were no witnesses in the store, but Carolyn Bryant, the woman behind the counter, claimed that he grabbed her, made lewd advances, and then wolf-whistled at her as he nonchalantly left the store.

The woman’s husband, Roy Bryant, the owner of the store, returned from a business trip a few days later and found out how Emmett had spoken to his wife. Insanely mad, he and his brother-in-law J.W. Milam, went to the home of Till’s great-uncle, Mose Wright, in the early morning hours of August 28, 1955. The pair demanded to see the boy. Despite his uncle’s pleas to leave him alone, they forced Emmett into their car. After driving around in the Memphis night, and perhaps beating Till in a toolhouse behind Milam’s residence, they drove him down to the Tallahatchie River.

14-year-old Emmett Till, an African American from Chicago, was brutally murdered that fateful morning. During the assault, the two men made Emmett carry a 75-pound cotton-gin fan to the bank of the Tallahatchie River and ordered him to take off his clothes. They then beat him nearly to death, gouged out his eye, shot him in the head, and threw his body, tied to the cotton-gin fan with barbed wire, into the river.

HIs body was recovered three days later,  but was so disfigured that Mose Wright could only identify it by an initialed ring. Authorities wanted to bury the body quickly, but Till’s mother, Mamie Bradley, requested it be sent back to Chicago. After seeing the mutilated remains, she decided to have an open-casket funeral so that all the world could see what racist murderers had done to her only son. Jet, an African American weekly magazine, published a photo of Emmett’s corpse, and soon the mainstream media picked up on the story.

In the case of Trayvon Martin, it was the “victim” who was the attacker.

With a single punch, 17-year-old High School Football Player Trayvon Martin decked Neighborhood Watch Volunteer, George Zimmerman. Then, Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk, over and over again, while Zimmerman pleaded for him to get off of him.

Zimmerman had turned around and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from behind, the two exchanged words and then Trayvon punched him in the nose, sending him to the ground, and began beating him.

Zimmerman said he was on his way to the grocery store when he spotted Trayvon walking through his gated community.

Trayvon was visiting his father’s fiancée, who lived there. He had been suspended from school in Miami after being found with an empty marijuana baggie. Miami schools have a zero-tolerance policy for drug possession.

When Zimmerman first spotted Trayvon, he called police and reported a suspicious person, describing Trayvon as black, acting strangely and perhaps on drugs.

Zimmerman got out of his SUV to follow Trayvon on foot. When a dispatch employee asked Zimmerman if he was following the 17-year-old, Zimmerman said yes. The dispatcher told Zimmerman he did not need to do that.

Zimmerman told the dispatcher that he lost sight of Trayvon and was walking back to his SUV when Trayvon approached him from the left rear, and they exchanged words.

Trayvon asked Zimmerman if he had a problem. Zimmerman said no and reached for his cell phone. Trayvon then said, “Well, you do now” and punched Zimmerman in the nose.

Trayvon started slamming Zimmerman’s head into the sidewalk, while hitting him with Martial-Arts Style blows.

After Trayvon refused to stop, Zimmerman  shot Trayvon once in the chest.

When police arrived less than two minutes later, Zimmerman was bleeding from the nose, had a swollen lip and had bloody lacerations to the back of his head.

Paramedics gave him first aid but he said he did not need to go to the hospital. He got medical care the next day.

And, we all know what happened after that. Trayvon became a cause celebre…a focal point by which American’s Race Baiters, including the President of the United States, could grab the spotlight and, somehow, try to become relevant again.

These Race Baiters, supported by our own Federal Government, pushed for a charge of murder against Zimmerman, even though all the evidence pointed overwhelmingly to self-defense. They didn’t want justice. They wanted a lynching.

And, they almost had one. The judge assigned to the case was a lifelong Liberal and Obama Supporter. If the evidence had not been so overwhelmingly in Zimmerman’s favor, he would have been buried under the jail.

The Liberal Media had him convicted before the trial even started. Beginning with NBC’s editing of an audio tape of the attack, to make it seem as if Zimmerman was guilty.

The president even became personally involved in this local matter, proclaiming that if he had a son, he would look like Trayvon.

At least he resembled him with the “chooming” part….I don’t know if the president likes “Purple Drank” or not.

And now, Oprah, desperate to create buzz for her new movie, “The Butler”, comes out with the most ignorant comparison I have seen in a long while.

Emmett Till was an innocent young boy.

Trayvon Martin was a dope-smoking, Purple Drank-drinking, vulgarity-spewing (as the Daily Caller proved, by publishing his tweets), 17-year-old High School Football playing, Gangsta Wannabe.

Hardly someone to hold up as a role model, except if you want an entire generation to be stuck in the same dead-end, hopeless, government-dependent existence that Trayvon was headed toward, when his young life ended.

The stories of Emmett Till and Trayvon Martin did have two things in common, though: they ended much too soon and, they both ended because of ignorance and hatred.

Emmett’s life ended because of the ignorance and hatred of others.

Trayvon’s ended because of his own.

Egypt, America, and the Muslim Brotherhood

obamaegypt7613With all of our Middle Eastern Embassies shut down for at least a week, the Senate’s own “Sunshine Boys”, Juan McAmnesty and Tiddie Graham are presently over in Egypt,

…on behalf of President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm).

Sens. John McCain, Arizona,and Lindsey Graham, South Carolina, arrived Monday in the capital of Cairo to meet with interim leaders including President Adly Mansour and Defense Minister Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

They arrived amid a roughly 30-day standoff between Egypt’s military-backed government and protesters who support ousted President Mohammed Morsi — a member of the Muslim Brotherhood political party.

Clashes between the rival groups have already resulted in the deaths of more than 250 Egyptians.

Thousands of Morsi supporters remain camped out in downtown Cairo, demanding the Islamist leader’s reinstatement as the interim government repeatedly tells them to disperse before security forces move in — setting the stage for potentially more violent showdowns.

Neither senator has so far publicly commented on the unannounced trip, though both are experienced in foreign policy and diplomacy.

McCain, a retired Navy officer and member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, in late spring made a surprise trip to Syria, where opponents are trying to overthrow the regime of President Bashar Hafez al-Assad.

In a recent interview, McCain said his and Graham’s positions as elected leaders have forged relationships with many Egyptians.

Graham is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and a former Air Force lawyer.

They arrived with the U.S. Embassy in Egypt closed amid a terror threat and more than 1,000 pro-Morsi supporters marching Monday through Cairo.

Meanwhile, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns also is in Egypt as part of U.S. mediation efforts.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said McCain and Graham are representing “the United States Congress” while Burns represents the administration.

While the two Vichy Republicans are over there, perhaps they could get our weapons back.

Jihadists in Egypt’s lawless Sinai Peninsula are using U.S. weapons to carry out attacks against the temporary government in the wake of the military’s ouster of President Mohammed Morsi, according to the embattled nation’s Interior Ministry.

The government office posted an official statement on its Facebook page along with images of an exploded missile that hit the third floor of a building in the city of el-Arish last week. The post said terrorist forces targeted the North Sinai Security Directorate office with a ballistic missile that struck the third floor facade of the building, leaving three soldiers injured. While attacks in the Sinai, which borders Gaza and is a haven for terrorist activity, have become commonplace, the prospect that militants have U.S. weapons typically fired from helicopters at their disposal is especially alarming.

Three photos of the missile posted by the government agency shows that it appears to be an AGM-114F with a label written in English and the letters “U.S.” stenciled on the side.

“If, and that is a big if, it was a AGM-114, as in the report, that’s not a ballistic missile, which conjures Cold War images of something massive and long range, but a Hellfire, which is of the type carried on helicopters,” Peter Singer, of the Brookings Institute’s Center for 21st Century Security and Intelligence, told FoxNews.com.

Egyptian security forces apprehended three suspects at the scene, including one Palestinian citizen.

A request for comment to the U.S. Department of Defense was not immediately returned.

Reports of U.S.-made weapons turning up in the Sinai date back to at least January, when six U.S.-made missiles were found in a cache of weapons bound for Gaza. And in February, FoxNews.com reported exclusively that weapons left over from the revolution in Libya were being sold at clandestine auctions is the Sinai Peninsula. The U.S. has repeatedly denied arming the Libyan rebels, though it did assist them in other ways with the overthrow of longtime Libyan strongman Muammar Qaddafi.

“Weapons left over from the Revolution in Lbya”? Tell me…are they stamped “Property of the U.S. Embassy Annex, Benghazi, Libya”?

An Egyptian magazine has claimed that six American Islamist activists who work with the Obama administration are Muslim Brotherhood operatives who enjoy strong influence over U.S. policy.

The December 22 story was published in Egypt’s Rose El-Youssef magazine and was translated into English for the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT). The story suggests the six turned the White House “from a position hostile to Islamic groups and organizations in the world to the largest and most important supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

The story is largely unsourced, but its publication is considered significant in raising the issue to Egyptian readers, IPT said.

The six named people include: Arif Alikhan, assistant secretary of Homeland Security for policy development; Mohammed Elibiary, a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council; Rashad Hussain, the U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference; Salam al-Marayati, co-founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC); Imam Mohamed Magid, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA); and Eboo Patel, a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships.

I think they left out someone…Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s “Number One”, Huma Abedin.

Her father, Syed Z. Abedin, was a professor in Saudi Arabia who founded the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs, an organization supported by the Muslim World League, a Brotherhood organization. Her mother, Saleha Mahmoud Abedin, is a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, the Brotherhood’s adjunct organization for women. The Brotherhood itself is in its own words, according to a captured internal document, dedicated to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house.”

So, basically, in Egypt, we have a very strange situation.  The United State Administration, aided by the Vichy Republicans, are, through a Machiavellian political strategy, backing up from their pro-Muslim Brotherhood Foreign Policy, and pretending to be “the Good Guys” instructing Egypt in the principles of Democracy. Their problem is the fact that the Egyptian People are not fooled that easily. They know a double-dealer when they see one.

In fact, they have even come up with a belly dance in Obama’s “honor”, making fun of him for supporting the Muslim Brotherhood.

Meanwhile, back home, The Muslim Brotherhood, the Godfather of Muslim Terrorists organizations, have infiltrated our Administration.

Not since the days of Sadat have Americans and Egyptians agreed on much of anything. However, we both agree that the Muslim Brotherhood must go.

Obama’s Report of Al-Qaeda’s Death Was Greatly Exaggerated

muslimredbeardYou know, for a “dead” group, al-Qaeda seems pretty lively to me.

According to the Wall Street Journal…

The State Department Sunday extended some embassy closures for the rest of the workweek, citing a need to “exercise caution” and take “appropriate steps” to protect American diplomats, local employees and visitors. Officials said the move wasn’t an indication that the U.S. had any new intelligence about the suspected plot or plots.

The high level of concern from U.S. officials underscores what many in the intelligence world have long warned. While al Qaeda’s central leadership may be weakened, the rest of the group has morphed into smaller entities and dispersed, which has made the threat harder to predict and track. This process was accelerated by the turmoil of the Arab Spring.

Officials briefed on the latest intelligence say the new warnings show that al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, or AQAP, is as determined as ever to attack the West, but it is unclear whether the group is as capable of following through as it was before the Central Intelligence Agency and U.S. military’s Joint Special Operations Command started targeting its leaders in Yemen in parallel campaigns.

The deaths of Osama bin Laden and other top al Qaeda officials in Pakistan has fueled U.S. confidence that al Qaeda’s core leadership can’t mount attacks on the U.S. and that U.S. drone strikes there could be phased out over time. But al Qaeda affiliates, the most active and lethal of which is AQAP, have shown themselves to be increasingly capable and autonomous organizations, making it harder for the U.S. to track and target their leaders.

A major concern for the U.S. is AQAP’s chief bomb-maker—a Saudi citizen named Ibrahim al-Asiri—who is thought to still be at large and has been active both experimenting with new bomb designs and training other bomb-makers, according to American officials and analysts.

Beyond Yemen, al Qaeda in Iraq has reconstituted itself. Its branch in Syria is drawing in hundreds of foreign recruits each month. And in Mali, al Qaeda-linked fighters fled French warplanes and commandos and have set up a rudimentary base in the Libyan Desert outside Paris’s reach.

“The problem we face today is there are probably more al Qaeda cells and affiliates across the Arab world in 2013 than there have ever been before because of the chaos that’s followed the Arab Spring,” said Bruce Riedel, a Central Intelligence Agency veteran and now director of the Brookings Intelligence Project

About al-Qaeda...

The group was founded in approximately 1988 by Osama bin Laden, Abdullah Azzam, and Muhammad Atef — the latter a native Egyptian and a onetime member of the terrorist group Egyptian Islamic Jihad. Al Qaeda’s overriding objective is to establish a worldwide caliphate governing all the earth via the dictates of Islamic Law. Crucial to the achievement of that goal is the destruction of America by any means necessary. As one Al Qaeda Training Manual makes explicitly clear, violence is the preferred method of dealing with the enemy:

“Islamic governments have never and will never be established through peaceful solutions and cooperative councils. They are established as they [always] have been by pen and gun, by word and bullet, by tongue and teeth.”

The manual further exhorts jihadists to “pledge … to make their [the infidels’] women widows and their children orphans … to slaughter them like lambs and let the [rivers] flow with their blood.”

Al-Qaeda has been in Yemen for a number of years.

Al Qaeda’s presence in Yemen is due to the with the country’s domestic conflicts and the convoluted agendas of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh. In the 1994 civil war, in which Saleh’s government defeated the Southern Rebels, Saleh and his loyal generals organized the mujahideen, some of whom would split off and form Al-Qaeda in Yemen, into fighting units against southerners who the jihadis already thought were godless socialists.

In the process of destroying an uprising of Zaydi Shiites in Yemen’s north known as the Houthi rebellion, Saleh backed the bujilding of Salafi schools linked with Al-Qaeda in Houthi territory, thus turning his political threat into a sectarian battle. Even during the war in Afghanistan against the Soviets, Yemeni leaders urged the country’s young men to travel to Afghanistan to fight.

Despite cooperating with them at the beginning, jihadis would find Saleh an undependable ally. Salah would readily cozy up to them when it suited his political goals, then he would just as readily turn on Al-Qaeda as soon as the benefits from doing so were presented to him, usually in the form of American aid money. His turncoat nature, in the years following the Cole bombing, led to the Yemeni Government arresting the group’s members, using deadly force against them, and allowing the U.S. intelligence services to operate in the country.

Saleh was an unfaithful friend to the United States in the war on terrorism, as well. His friendship ran hot and cold, even at one point refusing the FBI access to prisoners complicit in the USS Cole bombing.

Then, over the past decade, the U.S. supported a totally inept and totally corrupt Yemeni security apparatus When Yemeni security forces would somehow actually manage a victory in its fight against Al-Qaeda, it would lose to “escapes” twice as many Terrorists as it would capture.

Meanwhile, our American President, instead of providing troops to protect our American Embassies, has simply closed them, showing weakness to the barbarians, which is never a good idea.

I recognize the need to protect Americans, so more are not butchered, as Americans were on that fateful night in Benghazi. However. If this Administration does not show some backbone soon, America will continue to be in the same situation that England was under Neville Chamberlain.

We will be negotiating from a position of weakness.
