Yesterday, Andrew Breitbart reported two “Well, Duuh” statements concerning the administration’s reaction tho the latest Wikileak Document Dump masterminded by girly man Julian Assange.
First, according to Breitbart, the White House on Monday said WikiLeaks and others behind the release of a flood of confidential diplomatic memos were “criminals” and that President Barack Obama was decidedly “not pleased.”
Press Secretary Baghdad Bob Gibbs said the people who released some 250,000 classified State Department memos were “criminals, first and foremost” who had committed a “serious” offense.
Gibbs said:
This is a serious violation of the law, a serious threat to individuals that both carry out and assist in our foreign policy.
According to his Press Secretary, Obama was decidedly “not pleased” by the release.
Second, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that his department will prosecute anyone found to have violated U.S. law in the leaks of classified government documents by online whistleblower WikiLeaks.
According to Holder:
This is not saber-rattling.
Holder said at a news conference yesterday, that the Wikileaks Document Dump, puts at risk the security of the nation, its diplomats, intelligence assets and U.S. relationships with foreign governments and
To the extent that we can find anybody who was involved in the breaking of American law, who put at risk the assets and the people I have described, they will be held responsible; they will be held accountable.
He went on to call the WikiLeaks probe “an active, ongoing criminal investigation.”
According to Assange, his crusade to release America’s classified information is only beginning and these recent documents were meant to expose “lying, corrupt and murderous leadership from Bahrain to Brazil.”
Assange wrote an e-mail to ABC News from an undisclosed location, saying:
We’re only one thousandth of the way in and look at what has so far being revealed. There will be many more.
Assange brushed aside Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s statement that the dump of secret documents “puts people’s lives in danger”:
U.S. officials have for 50 years trotted out this line when they are afraid the public is going to see how they really behave. The facts are that we wrote to the State Department asking for a list of any specific concerns that might have. They refused to assist, and said they demanded everything, including those documents that revealed abuses, be destroyed.
So, why hasn’t the Federal Government already taken care of this weasel, who seems quite pleased with himself for endangering the lives of Americans and our allies?
In her latest post on Facebook, Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin asks some pretty sharp questions about this situation:
…what steps were taken to stop Wikileaks director Julian Assange from distributing this highly sensitive classified material especially after he had already published material not once but twice in the previous months? Assange is not a “journalist,” any more than the “editor” of al Qaeda’s new English-language magazine Inspire is a “journalist.” He is an anti-American operative with blood on his hands. His past posting of classified documents revealed the identity of more than 100 Afghan sources to the Taliban. Why was he not pursued with the same urgency we pursue al Qaeda and Taliban leaders?
What if any diplomatic pressure was brought to bear on NATO, EU, and other allies to disrupt Wikileaks’ technical infrastructure? Did we use all the cyber tools at our disposal to permanently dismantle Wikileaks? Were individuals working for Wikileaks on these document leaks investigated? Shouldn’t they at least have had their financial assets frozen just as we do to individuals who provide material support for terrorist organizations?
Most importantly, serious questions must also be asked of the U.S. intelligence system. How was it possible that a 22-year-old Private First Class could get unrestricted access to so much highly sensitive information? And how was it possible that he could copy and distribute these files without anyone noticing that security was compromised?
The White House has now issued orders to federal departments and agencies asking them to take immediate steps to ensure that no more leaks like this happen again. It’s of course important that we do all we can to prevent similar massive document leaks in the future. But why did the White House not publish these orders after the first leak back in July? What explains this strange lack of urgency on their part?
We are at war. American soldiers are in Afghanistan fighting to protect our freedoms. They are serious about keeping America safe. It would be great if they could count on their government being equally serious about that vital task.
Yes, ma’am. It would be great. Unfortunately, we can’t. In the past, Mr. Assange would possibly have already met with a mysterious end, such as a fatal case of cranial lead poisoning, and Pfc. Manning would be the recipient of a military trial, followed by a blindfold, a cigarette, and a 21-gun salute.
While it is true that Manning is indeed locked up in a military jail, facing a trial, with this Administration, anything can happen. And unless Obama and his minions suddenly acquire some testosterone-driven fortitude, Assange will not receive the punishment he so richly deserves.
Y’know, it’s almost like this Administration doesn’t mind Assange’s denigration of America’s stature among the nations of the world that much. Hmmmm.
This is the “WEAK” heard around the world!!!!

Right again, KJ. Holder will investigate, as long as it’s “white only” persons of interest. As for this administration…nothing like a good old “crisis” so that they can act in our good interest and sieze more control over us.

Good post. It’s only going to get worse. I wish America would wake up, but it seems only partially awake. As the rest of the world takes us over, we are sleeping.

I think that the ONLY reason the obamanation (mis)administration is sounding upset is because Hillary, and her State Dept., is annoyed at being in the spotlight….
