Dem Congresswoman Who Supported “Defund The Police” Carjacked in Philadelphia

Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (D-Penn.) was carjacked at gunpoint in Philadelphia on Wednesday as crime continues to surge in major cities across the country.

“Wednesday afternoon, at around 2:45 p.m., Congresswoman Scanlon was carjacked at gunpoint in FDR Park following a meeting at that location,” Scanlon’s office said in a statement. The Congresswoman was physically unharmed. She thanks the Philadelphia Police Department for their swift response, and appreciates the efforts of both the Sergeant at Arms in D.C. and her local police department for coordinating with Philly PD to ensure her continued safety.”

Scanlon’s phone and purse were stolen by the attacker, according to WPVI-TV.

Police say Scanlon was approached by two black males, aged approximately 20-30, as she walked to her vehicle before they demanded she hand them the keys. Scanlon handed over the keys to her blue 2017 Acura MDX and one of the suspects drove away in it while the other drove away in a dark-colored SUV.

Scanlon represents Pennsylvania’s 5th Congressional District, which includes part of South Philadelphia.

In 2021 so far, the Philadelphia Police Department has reported 521 homicides, which is a 13% increase compared to 2020 and the city’s highest number of killings since at least 2007. Incidents involving a shooting have also increased by 4.4%, and the number of people who are victims of a shooting has risen by almost 3% over the past year.

The City of Philadelphia is seeing at least an 80% increase in carjackings in 2021, compared to the total number in 2020, police told FOX 29 earlier this month.

Scanlon was not the first prominent Democratic official to be carjacked in a crime-ridden city in the last 24 hours. Last night, Illinois’ Democratic state Senate majority leader Sen. Kimberly Lightford and her husband were carjacked in Chicago, where crime has been surging.

“First and foremost, I am thankful that my husband and I are alive and physically unharmed,” Lightford said in a statement. “I am trying to process the trauma of what happened. I want to thank everyone who has offered their love and support. I want to especially thank Mayor Katrina Thompson and the Broadview Police Department for their quick and thorough response.”

Both Scanlon and Lightford have been staunch supporters of police reforms in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in the summer of 2020.

“We have seen too many lives taken and communities devastated by police brutality and racial profiling,” Scanlon tweeted shortly after Floyd’s death. “Action is long overdue. @HouseDemocrats are fighting for REAL reform in our country’s police departments. #JusticeInPolicing.”

Rep. Scanlon is one of 125 co-sponsors of the Mental Health Justice Act, which aimed to place some police officers as first responders with mental health specialists. All of the bill’s sponsors are Democrats. The bill’s text says its purpose is “To authorize the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award grants to States and political subdivisions of States to hire, employ, train, and dispatch mental health professionals to respond in lieu of law enforcement officers in emergencies involving one or more persons with a mental illness or an intellectual or developmental disability, and for other purposes.”

At the time the Mental Health Justice Act was introduced in February 2021, with Scanlon on board as one of its original co-sponsors, The Hill reported, “Congress wants to make it easier for state and local governments to defund the police by instead funding mental health services and empowering them to respond to emergency calls instead of armed officers.”

Actions have consequences.

All of the cities and states which have experienced perceived “trouble” with police departments happen to be Blue States with Democrats in charge of State and Municipal Governments.

Instead of relying on traditional police departments and the American System of Law and Order, Democrats like those in the Minneapolis City Council wanted to have the power to circumvent the American System of Justice because of their issues in the past with it.

The death of ex-convict George Floyd gave them the excuse to attempt to defund police departments.

And now, with a Democrat in office, those who oppose Law and Order are all taking the side of the criminals.

Even the Democrat sitting behind the Oval Office…when he is not taking a nap.

Just like a criminal does not represent an entire race, neither do bad policemen represent an entire nation’s Law Enforcement Officers.

They are heroes.

And, I’ll bet that those Democrat Politicians who became victims of crime wish that a policeman or policewoman had been around when they needed one.

Talk about a Reality Check….

So, please allow me to end today’s post with the text of a classic narration by the late, great Paul Harvey  titled “What is a Policeman?”

“A policeman is a composite of what all men are, I guess, a mingling of saint and sinner, dust and deity. What that really means is that they are exceptional, they are unusual. They are not commonplace. Buried under the froth is the fact, the fact is that less than one half of one percent of policeman misfit that uniform, and that is a better average than you’d find among clergymen.“What is a policeman?

“He of all men is at once the most needed, and the most wanted, a strangely nameless creature who is sir to his face and pig or worse behind his back. He must be such a diplomat that he can settle differences between individuals so that each will think he won, but, if a policeman is neat, he’s conceited, if he’s careless he’s a bum, if he’s pleasant, he’s a flirt, if he’s not, he’s a grouch.

“He must make instant decisions that would require months for a lawyer but if he hurries he’s careless, if he’s deliberate, he’s lazy. He must be first to an accident, infallible with diagnoses. He must be able to start breathing, stop bleeding, tie splints and above all, be sure the victim goes home without a limp.

“The police officer must know every gun, draw on the run and hit where it doesn’t hurt.

“He must be able to whip two men twice his size and half his age without damaging his uniform, and without being brutal. If you hit him he’s a coward, if he hits you, he’s a bully. The policeman from a single human hair must be able to describe the crime, the weapon the criminal, and tell you where the criminal is hiding but, if he catches the criminal he’s lucky, if he doesn’t he’s a dunce.

“He runs files and writes reports until his eyes ache to build a case against some felon who will get dealt out by some shameless shamus. The policeman must be a minister, a social worker, a diplomat, a tough guy, and a gentle man. And of course, he’ll have to be a genius, because he’ll have to feed a family on a policeman’s salary.”

Biden, the “Great Uniter”, Injects Race Into Speech Opposing Election Reform Laws, Gutfeld Calls Biden a “Pathological, Shameless Liar”

“The Five” host Greg Gutfeld blasted President Joe Biden as a “pathological, shameless liar” after the commander-in-chief injected race into a Philadelphia speech about election laws as Texas state Democratic lawmakers flew to Washington, D.C. to prevent that state’s legislature from having a quorum to approve new reforms.

Speaking in Old City, Biden claimed proponents of election security measures are engaging in a “21st century Jim Crow assault.”

“It’s unrelenting. It’s unrelenting. And we are going to challenge it vigorously,” he said. “Are you on the side of truth or lies?… Stand up, for God’s sake, and help prevent this concerted effort to undermine our election.’

Biden went on to claim Republican-led election security reforms in states such as Texas, Georgia and Pennsylvania are akin to “facing the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War.”

On “The Five,” Gutfeld said he was upset by Biden’s race-infused rhetoric.

“He is a pathological, shameless liar,” he said. “He ran on being a unifier, and all he does is bank on racial discontent. He is comparing this bill to the KKK [and] Jim Crow. All he does is foment racial conflict,” Gutfeld said, additionally referencing the Texas election integrity bill that spurred the Democrats to leave the state. “

In his speech, Biden said 17 states have enacted 28 new laws to “make it harder for Americans to vote.”

Gutfeld said Biden believes he is making a “moral case” for voting rights as if such rights don’t exist.

“Every American has the right to vote, except the left’s favored voting blocs, which are felons, illegal immigrants, and the dead,” he said.

“[The] only one true possibility of a zombie uprising [is] because the corpses found out they voted for Joe Biden — The only Republicans they know of are evil.”

The “Gutfeld!” host added that Biden joins a long line of Democratic figures who have made it customary to label their political opponents either racist or extremist:

He said President Reagan had been compared to Adolf Hitler while George W. Bush and the late Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., were dubbed “warmongers.”

Biden himself, the host noted, previously also claimed during a 2012 event near Martinsville, Va. that GOP nominee Mitt Romney would put the attendees of color “back in chains” with his fiscal policy platform.

“Then we are supposed to get the biggest, greatest existential risk in history out of Donald Trump, and now that’s a lie because he’s gone,” Gutfeld continued. “And now this is a bigger existential risk than Donald Trump. ‘This is the worst thing since the Civil War.’ I’m beginning to think they are exaggerating.”

Democrats in the Texas Legislature bolted Monday for Washington and said they were ready to remain there for weeks in a second revolt against a GOP overhaul of election laws, forcing a dramatic new showdown over voting rights in America.

Private planes carrying more than 50 Democrats left Austin for Dulles International Airport midafternoon, skipping town just days before the Texas House of Representatives was expected to give early approval to sweeping new voting restrictions in a special legislative session.

The cross-country exodus was the second time that Democratic lawmakers have staged a walkout on the voting overhaul, a measure of their fierce opposition to proposals they say will make it harder for young people, people of color, and people with disabilities to vote.

“Should we stick around? Hell no. For what?” Texas State Rep. Jarvis Johnson, D-Houston, said this week. “There’s nothing being done in earnest.”

“There’s nothing be done with the utmost respect for one another,” Johnson added.

In Pennsylvania, where Biden was speaking Tuesday, a group of Republicans led by State Sen. Pat Stefano, R-Somerset and Douglas Mastriano, R-Chambersburg, recently sponsored SB 402, which would repeal a 2019 provision that allows for no-excuse mail-in voting in the Keystone State.

The chairman of the state Senate committee that oversees elections, Sen. Dave Argall, R-Tamaqua, also responded to the president’s visit in a statement, saying in part that “no matter what President Biden said today in Philadelphia, voter ID is not wrong, it’s simple common sense. He further called his remarks “completely out of touch.”

So, Joe Biden is calling Americans who want voter ID laws and fair, honest elections RACISTS.

Irony is embarrassed.

Back in February of 2007, Delaware Senator Joe Biden described his future boss, contender for the Democrat Presidential Nomination, Barack Hussein Obama, in the following manner…

I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” Biden said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.

Liberals’ arrogance often lead them to reveal their own intolerance.

Sleepy Joe became chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee in the late 1980s and as Delaware Senator supported a crime bill in 1994, saying at the time that his aim was to control violent crime.

Thomas Frank, a Liberal, wrote an op ed for The Guardian back on April 15, 2016, about the unexpected results of the 1994 Crime Bill. In the article he wrote that…

…what is most shocking in our current journo-historical understanding of the Clinton years is the idea that the mass imprisonment of people of color was an “unintended consequence” of the 1994 crime bill, to quote the New York Daily News’s paraphrase of Hillary Clinton. This is flatly, glaringly false, as the final, ugly chapter of the crime bill story confirms.

Back in the early 1990s, and although they were chemically almost identical, crack and powder cocaine were regarded very differently by the law. The drug identified with black users (crack) was treated as though it were 100 times as villainous as the same amount of cocaine, a drug popular with affluent professionals. This “now-notorious 100-to-one” sentencing disparity, as the New York Times put it, had been enacted back in 1986, and the 1994 crime law instructed the US Sentencing Commission to study the subject and adjust federal sentencing guidelines as it saw fit.

The Sentencing Commission duly recommended that the 100-to-1 sentencing disparity be abolished, largely because (as their lengthy report on the subject put it) “The 100-to-1 crack cocaine to powder cocaine quantity ratio is a primary cause of the growing disparity between sentences for black and white federal defendants.” By the time their report was released, however, Republicans had gained control of Congress, and they passed a bill explicitly overturning the decision of the Sentencing Commission. (Bernie Sanders, for the record, voted against that bill.)

The bill then went to President Clinton for approval. Shortly before it came to his desk he gave an inspiring speech deploring the mass incarceration of black Americans. “Blacks are right to think something is terribly wrong,” he said on that occasion, “… when there are more African American men in our correction system than in our colleges; when almost one in three African American men, in their twenties, are either in jail, on parole, or otherwise under the supervision of the criminal system. Nearly one in three.”

Two weeks after that speech, however, Clinton blandly affixed his signature to the bill retaining the 100-to-1 sentencing disparity, a disparity that had brought about the lopsided incarceration of black people. Clinton could have vetoed it, but he didn’t. He signed it.

Today we are told that mass incarceration was an “unintended consequence” of Clinton’s deeds.

Uh huh.

Liberal Democrats have taken the votes of Black Americans for granted for a long time now.

The Democrats, decades after the advent of LBJ’s “Great Society”, naturally assume that they are going to get the majority of black Americans’ votes in every Presidential Election.

They not only expect it, they rely on it.

However, the problem the Biden and his handlers face is the fact that Trump made great inroads into securing some of that “expected” support from Black American Voters.

Candace Owens has done a great job of waking black Americans up to the reality of the Democrats’ feigned “benevolence”.

The problem that the “unintended consequences” of the 1994 Crime Bill and Biden’s racist comment to the Radio personality, Charlemagne, poses for the Democrats is the fact that it shows the hypocrisy. is attempting to blame the amount of arrests made of black Americans on “Systematic Racism”.

The Democrats are the ones who tore apart the Black Family United with the advent of their “Great Society” under President Lyndon Baines Johnson and the subsequent generations who either could not or did not wish to get off of the Government Dole. 

Unfortunately for Sleepy Joe and the Democrat Elite, Americans are very aware that they are not only supporting the racial unrest in our cities, their Vice-President Kamala Harris has bailed out rioters.

I thought Sleepy Joe was supposed to “unite” us..

Sheesh.

With the existence of “Uniters” like President “Sleepy Joe” Biden and his Vice-President, “Heels Up” Harris, America’s “racial divide” has become another Grand Canyon..

Philadelphia’s Soros-owned DA Tells Trump That If He Sends in “Uncertified” Poll Watchers: “I’ve Got Something For You”

Philadelphia’s district attorney on Wednesday threatened President Donald Trump if he sent “uncertified” poll watchers to the city, telling him in a statement, “I’ve got something for you” if any attempts are made to interfere with Election Day activities.

In a fiery statement posted on his website, District Attorney Larry Krasner likened Trump to a “lawless, power-hungry despot,” and vowed that Philadelphians “will not be cowed.”

The statement followed Trump’s response to a night of looting in Philadelphia over the police shooting of a Black man, who police claimed was charging at them with a knife. President Trump called the shooting a “terrible event,” but turned the attention on his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, whom he accused of supporting the looters and rioters.

Krasner said that Trump’s administration supposedly poses “the greatest danger to public health and safety in modern history.” As proof, he pointed to the more than 227,000 Americans who have died from COVID-19.

His statement comes less than a week before the November election, for which Pennsylvania has become a hotly contested presidential battleground state.

The Trump campaign said late last month it was preparing a lawsuit against the Office of the Philadelphia City Commissioners over their alleged refusal to admit poll watchers into satellite officers to observe the voting process.

“To the extent that your office prohibits the campaign from monitoring the casting of ballots, the campaign will seek court intervention,” a letter from an attorney representing the campaign read.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro said he would not let the president “interfere” with the “will of the people,” while characterizing the president as a “bad actor.”

“It will be respected whether Donald Trump wins Pennsylvania or Joe Biden wins Pennsylvania,” Shapiro said of the state’s election results. “We need to drown out the president’s rhetoric and ignore the doubt that he is trying to sow about this election and make a plan to vote today, whether you choose to vote by mail, you choose to vote at an election satellite center early, or whether you choose to vote on Election Day.”

In his statement, Krasner said that his office is continuing to work with its partners “in law enforcement and government to ensure every voter gets to vote and that every vote is counted,” Krasner said. “Keep your Proud Boys, goon squads, and uncertified ‘poll watchers’ out of our city, Mr. President. Break the law here, and I’ve got something for you.”

Krasner’s ambiguous threat comes as the city is still reeling from a night of violent protests, in which demonstrators clashed with authorities over the police shooting of a 27-year-old Black man a day earlier. Police said the man – identified as Walter Wallace Jr. – refused to drop his knife as he “advanced towards” them.

Krasner alleged that Trump, rather than “working with cities and states to improve accountability and efficacy in policing,” is seeking instead to “throw gasoline on a long-burning fire in order to provoke further unrest and violence ahead of an election he is terrified to lose.”

Mr. Krasner is one of a new crop of “progressive prosecutors” who have won election in liberal cities. They include San Francisco’s Chesa Boudin, who was raised by Weather Underground radicals Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn because his own parents were in prison for participating in the murder of police officers. Mr. Krasner was a virulent critic of law enforcement before running to become the city’s top prosecutor. During a 30-year career as a defense lawyer, Mr. Krasner gained notoriety for filing 75 lawsuits against Philadelphia police. In a 2017 campaign video he said “policing and prosecution are both systematically racist,” and he called poverty and crime consequences of “mass incarceration.”

Mr. Krasner’s candidacy was laughed off until George Soros dumped $1.7 million into the campaign. At his primary election night victory party, Mr. Krasner smiled while his supporters chanted, “No good cops in a racist system!” and “f— the FOP!” (the Fraternal Order of Police)

George Soros is the “Vladimir Lenin” of our time.

As was the case in the Russian Revolution, any “Democratic Socialist” nation we see around our Modern World, went through a course-altering revolution, whether through a violent overthrow of the Government or through a “radical change” in the political ideology of their nation and the way that their populace voted in the subsequent election.

I firmly believe that the mission of Billionaire Financier George Soros and all of the Far Left Organizations and Democratic Party Politicians whom he supports, is what his political puppet, Former (Thank God) President Barack Hussein Obama, said that his was during his first presidential campaign: to “radically change” our nation into something that every patriotic American will no longer recognize.

America’s Alt-Left, which President Trump identified by name during the 2017 “Press Conference” which shall forever be known as the “Trump Tower Thrashing” is a fringe group of radicalized young people, who grew up during the Obama Administration being programmed by “Organizing for America”, Liberal College Professors, and a pop culture which told them that to love America and to respect her history and those who had gone before them, was “jingoistic”.

The Philadelphia Rioters are using the justified shooting of a madman attacking police officers with a knife as an excuse to riot and loot in another poorly-run Democrat-controlled city.

They have been told through indoctrination that it is evil to try to be better than others….to achieve and make their own way.

They have been told that everyone “should be equal” and those who do achieve should “share the wealth”.

This programming led these young minds full of mush to become the “useful idiots” (as Communists used to call their dupes in the Cold War) whom we have been watching on television for the last decade as they attack America’s History, our Constitutional method of deciding our leaders, our duly elected President, and even, how we select our Supreme Court Justices.

Now with the push to bestow the civil rights of American citizens to those who have entered our Sovereign Country illegally, Soros’ covert and overt support of the perpetually grieved protesters, paid to stage organized demonstrations which morph into riots and his meddling in local and elections, America is being attacked from within.

That is why the reelection of Donald J. Trump to the Presidency was is very important.

Trump must be reelected in order to put the brakes on this “New Revolution” purposefully designed to “radically change” America into just another “Democratic Socialist Nation” whether it be through the Insurrection Act or other means available to him.

Now is the time to stop George Soros and these “New Bolsheviks”, before history repeats itself on this side of the Atlantic, over 100 years later.

Freeze the assets of George Soros, including those of the organizations which he controls, like Media Matters and the Open Society Institute.

Then deport him….or arrest him for sedition, lock him up, and throw away the key.

America’s survival as a free nation depends on it.

6 Police Officers Injured in Philadelphia Shootout, Dems Call for Gun Control…Again

A shootout yesterday in Philadelphia’s Nicetown neighborhood resulted in 6 police officers being wounded

They were all released from the hospital last night.

FoxNews.com reported last night that

High-ranking police officials said two officers with the Narcotics Strike Force were serving a warrant at a multifamily home — in what may have been a drug-related offense — when a shooter opened fire at the home. The two officers were barricaded in separate rooms with as many as four suspects.

After five hours of enduring consistent gunfire, the two officers were safely evacuated, although the suspect remained armed and inside the house, according to Philadelphia Police Department Sgt. Eric Gripp.

Hostage negotiators and a SWAT team were on the scene.

“Officers are attempting to communicate with the shooter; imploring him to surrender and avoid further injuries,” Gripp tweeted.

Ross said that some suspects “were taken into custody initially and there may be someone in custody inside [the building] but there’s no indication that the shooter is trying to surrender.” He added that police were confident the shooter was still alive given the frequency of shots still being fired, but police have not been able to speak to the shooter yet.

Law enforcement officials continued to make repeated attempts to talk to the shooter, communicating over a loudspeaker as well as trying to reach him by phone, Ross said. Police also were trying to work with a person close to the shooter to make contact with him, but so far, the suspect has answered the phone but didn’t speak. Fox News has learned that that liaison is the shooter’s girlfriend.

“He continues to fire rounds out of a window,” Ross said.

The SWAT team attempted to enter the building but were forced to retreat because of heavy gunfire through the first-floor ceiling up towards a higher floor of the building, as well as out the window, a law enforcement official told Fox News.

Hundreds of rounds of gunfire could be heard throughout the afternoon. The gunman was armed with an AR15 and several handguns, officials told Fox News.

Ross said many rounds of ammunition struck the SWAT truck and buildings across the street and “right now we’re not sure” if it’s just one shooter.

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said he’s “angry about someone having all that weaponry and all that firepower.”

Officials negotiating with the suspect tried to assure him that he would not be harmed if he surrendered, to no avail.

“We’re just trying to do as much as we can to resolve this peacefully,” Ross said, adding that it’s a “very volatile situation that is still unfolding.”

Four women who were on the second floor of the building as the shootout continued were rescued by police officers and led to safety.

…Philadelphia has been riddled with drug-related crime with several major busts occurring since the beginning of 2019.

U.S. officials seized over $1 billion worth of cocaine in June from a ship at a Philadelphia port, in a bust that the U.S. attorney’s office called one of the largest in American history.

One month later, law enforcement officials seized six kilos of heroin and fentanyl, two kilos of cocaine, five handguns, one rifle, $200,000 cash, as well as other drug paraphernalia after a 3-month long wiretap investigation on the Kensignton neighborhood in Philadelphia.

In March, drug dogs sniffed out 1,185 pounds of cocaine worth about $38 million, a bust that was recognized at the time as the city’s largest seizure of the drug in more than two decades.

The shooter is now in police custody.

As I sat down to write last night, Jesse Watters on Fox News Channel was playing a video from MSNBC showing Democratic Presidential wannabe Cory Booker calling for gun control, leading the inevitable Democrat Politician Chorus that had not even waited for the situation to be over with before, as Fox News Contributor Dan Bongino would say “opening their pie holes.”

Here’s the thing, though.

Perhaps, especially in this case, it is not as simple as a need to restrict the 2nd Amendment Rights of Americans, as it is a problem with municipalities having suffered under decades of Democratic Leadership.

In case you haven’t noticed, the most violent cities in America, my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee included, have been run into the ground as a result of decades of poor stewardship by Democratic Mayors and Democratic-majority city councils.

And, those Democrat Polticians do not even try to hide their graft and corruption.

For example, Memphis has a Mayoral Election coming up. One of the candidates running in it is Former Mayor W.W. “King Willie” Herenton, Memphis’ first Black Mayor, who stayed in office from 1991-2008, when he declined to run again while under investigation by the FBI.

The mass exodus of Memphis taxpayers started during the reign of “King Willie”, who told taxpayers of the Caucasian persuasion, if they did not like the way he was running the city, they could leave.

So, they did.

Since then, violent crime in Memphis has steadily risen, to the point where some suburban husbands will not allow their families to enter Memphis during the day or night.

In municipalities like New York City, Detroit, Chicago, Baltimore, and Philadelphia, under Democratic Leadership, doing the right thing is often cast aside for doing the “politically correct” thing.

And, if you run hard working taxpayers out of your city in the name of “social justice” and “political correctness”, then who is left to grow your city, maintain your neighborhoods, and finance your municipal projects?

I don’t believe that the criminals in the article above pay their municipal taxes.

And, they won’t turn in their guns, no matter how nicely Democrat-run municipal governments ask them to and no matter how many gun control laws they pass.
