David Hogg, Laura Ingraham, and the “New Fascism”

david-hogg

THESE are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated. Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX) but “to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER,” and if being bound in that manner, is not slavery, then is there not such a thing as slavery upon earth. Even the expression is impious; for so unlimited a power can belong only to God. – Thomas Paine, “The Crisis”, December 23, 1776

The Washington Post reports that

Hogg went on CNN on Saturday to talk about his latest dust-up with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who made fun of the teen’s public lament about being rejected by colleges to which he had applied.

“It’s disturbing to know that somebody can bully so many people and just get away with it, especially to the level that she did,” he said on CNN. “No matter who somebody is, no matter how big or powerful they may seem, a bully is a bully, and it’s important that you stand up to them.”

On Wednesday, mocking Hogg’s comments about his rejection letters, Ingraham tweeted a story from a conservative news site that described the teen as a “Gun Rights Provocateur” — and said Hogg had not been accepted by four University of California schools.

“David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it,” Ingraham tweeted. “(Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA … totally predictable given acceptance rates.)”

On CNN, Hogg said the tweet and Ingraham’s criticism of him were in line with bullying statements she had made about others: a conflict with gays while she was at Dartmouth in 1984 and, recently, responding to LeBron James’s political statements by saying that the NBA star should “shut up and dribble.”

They also deserve apologies, Hogg said.

James had responded to Ingraham during an NBA All-Star Weekend news conference.

Hogg took to Twitter, where his number of followers has surpassed 700,000. He compiled a list of 12 companies that advertise on Fox News’s “The Ingraham Angle” and sent a message to his followers: “Pick a number 1-12 contact the company next to that #”

In a matter of days, Ingraham lost more than a dozen advertisers, including Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, Hulu, Jos. A. Bank, Jenny Craig, Ruby Tuesday and Miracle-Ear.

A little later, Ingraham apologized, but Hogg blasted the apology as an insincere “effort just to save your advertisers.”

“The apology . . . was kind of expected, especially after so many of her advertisers dropped out,” Hogg said on CNN. “I’m glad to see corporate America standing with me and the other students of Parkland and everybody else. Because when we work together, we can accomplish anything.”

Ingraham is off the air this week. She told her Fox News viewers on Friday that she is taking an Easter vacation. The network told The Washington Post that the vacation was preplanned.

What has happened recently to Former Fox News Personality Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity and is now happening to Laura Ingraham is not a new Liberal Strategy.

Way back on March 7, 2012, I reported that…

In their unfettered zeal to get rid of one of the most effective barriers to the re-election of their false messiah and the continued existence of the political status quo, Liberals in both political parties and the Main Stream Media have launched a Liberal Blitzkrieg against Rush Limbaugh over his comments concerning Professional Activist Sandra Fluke.

What’s a Blitzkrieg, you ask?

Per historylearningsite.co.uk:

Blitzkrieg means “lightning war”. Blitzkrieg was first used by the Germans in World War Two and was a tactic based on speed and surprise and needed a military force to be based around light tank units supported by planes and infantry (foot soldiers). The tactic was developed in Germany by an army officer called Hans Guderian. He had written a military pamphlet called “Achtung Panzer” which got into the hands of Hitler. As a tactic it was used to devastating effect in the first years of World War Two and resulted in the British and French armies being pushed back in just a few weeks to the beaches of Dunkirk and the Russian army being devastated in the attack on Russia in June 1941.

Rush not only won that particular war, his listenership has continued to grow since then.

The message of Conservatism is not easily silenced.

However, if at first you don’t succeed…

Try, try again…like they are doing with their campaign against the Fox News Channel.

MoveOn.org, Media Matters, and George Soros are already in the midst of an all-out war in their attempt to drive President Donald J. Trump out of office by any means necessary and achieve what Obama failed to accomplish: turning American into a Socialist Country.

…Including using children to push to eliminate the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.

When our Founding Fathers sat down to provide form and substance to the laws and procedures for governing this new country, which they had fought and won a bloody war over, by pledging their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor, they were very aware of the price of tyranny.

They determined that this new nation would be a Constitutional Republic, having had their fill of monarchies.

In order to ensure that no leader of this new nation would go mad with power, and become a tyrannical despot, our Founders set up a System of Checks and Balances, overseen by Three Branches of Government: the Legislative, the Executive, and the Judicial, with each branch having a distinct and LIMITED role.

The situation, which we as a nation, find ourselves in today, is one which our Founding Fathers sought valiantly to avoid.

Thanks to the Imperious Presidency of Barack Hussein Obama, which empowered the Far Left, even after 15 months of the advances made by President Donald J. Trump, America is still suffering under a “Tyranny of the Minority”.

This minority is not based on color, rather, it is one based on political ideology and self-interest.

As Obama’s Presidency showed, this minority, buoyed by money from its “sponsors”, including the Halls of Power in Washington, DC, will shut down anyone who threatens “what they’ve got” by ANY MEANS NECESSARY, including political devices and beliefs, which we, as a country, have gone to war against in the past.

My late father was one of thousands of brave young American men, who landed on the beaches of Normandy , France on June 6, 1944, in the military operation which broke the backs of the Nazis, leading to the end of World War II, now known as D-Day.

World War II was a war against Fascism.

What is Fascism? Per merriam-webster.com, it is a

political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Ladies and gentlemen, I firmly believe that America is now fighting a new war against fascism.

It’s not a war that is being fought with guns and bullets, But instead, t is being fought with School Walkouts, boycotts, Non-Profit Organizations funded by George Soros, Schoolchildren Spokespeople, and the Vanguard of the Modern Democratic Party, the Main Stream Media.

It’s not our Brightest and Best who are dying on this field of battle, but rather, it is our Constitutional Freedoms which are dying an ignoble death, pierced by the arrows of socialism and political correctness.

By now, there’s some out there in the audience saying, “Oh Lord, the crazy old cracker’s overreacting again.”

No, Skippy, I’m not.

If you try to talk to a Liberal about this New Fascism, they will deny that there is any fascism going on at all. In fact, they will tell you that this is “the will of the people” and they will site Democratically stacked push polls in order to back their opinion up.

When you ask Liberals if , “Gun Control” is the “will of the people”, why have firearm sales across America gone through the roof every time Far Left Activists threaten to take away Americans’ Second Amendment Rights? And, if there is “no fascism”, what do you call the fact that a little jerk like David Hogg, backed by the forces which I named earlier, can go around threatening the livelihood of Laura Ingraham by bullying her sponsors?

In response, you will usually see their eyes glaze over, like a deer in the headlights, or experience a dramatic pause in posting, if you are on the Internet.

Liberals can not legitimately defend the suppression of the Second Amendment Rights of average Americans.

Fascism, in any form, remains indefensible, even, when a spineless Republican-led Congress sits idly by while they watch the Far Left indoctrinate our children and grandchildren and attempt to use them as their own version of the Communists’ “useful idiots”.

To believe that they are going after one of Trump’s biggest public supporters, Laura Ingraham, and Fox News itself, to get them “out of the picture” is certainly believable, given their track record of Liberal Intolerance and aversion to opposing viewpoints.

Ronald Reagan, during an interview with Mike Wallace on 12/14/75, quipped…

“You know, someone very profoundly once said many years ago that if fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism.”

The man was a prophet.

Trump To Look “Very Strongly” at Concealed Carry at Schools – Why That’s a Good Idea

maxresdefault (2)

“I think it’s a shame that the day somebody hears about a shooting, the first thing they think about is, ‘How can I go promote my gun control agenda?’ as opposed to saying, ‘How do I go pray and help the families that are suffering?'” – Congressman Steve Scalise

The Gun-Free Zones Act was signed into law by President George H.W. Bush in 1990. The bill was sponsored by Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. of Delaware.

A brilliant idea because, after all, criminals always obey laws.

According to FoxNews.com

The president asked for suggestions to prevent school shootings, leaving the floor open to parents and teachers.

A parent from Parkland High School suggested that a select few teachers, administrators, or other school employees volunteer to become a designated “undercover police officer,” to manage a potential tragedy prior to the arrival of first responders.

“If a tragedy strikes, can we wait for first responders to get to the campus minutes later?” the parent said. “The challenge becomes, once it starts, to end it as quickly as possible.”

The president said the administration would look “very strongly” at the option for “concealed carry” at schools, but acknowledged that “a lot of people will be opposed to it.”

“Concealed carry only works for people that are very adept at carrying a gun,” Trump said. “Where a teacher would have a concealed gun on them, go for special training and they would be there and you would no longer have a gun free zone.”

Trump added: “A gun-free zone to a maniac, they’re all cowards, it’s ‘let’s go in and attack because bullets aren’t coming at us.’”

The president said that an attack lasts, on average “three minutes.”

“It takes five to eight minutes for first responders. So the attack is over. If you had a teacher who was adept at firearms, they could very well end [the attack],” Trump said. “We are looking at that very strongly. A lot of people will be opposed to it. A lot of people are gonna like it.”

Trump suggested having “20 percent of your teaching force” representing the “type of talent” capable of concealed carry. Trump also floated the idea to add security, like former “marines, people who left the Air Force” to be “spread evenly throughout the school.”

President Trump makes a solid point. You never hear of a mass murder at a Target Range…or any other area which allows Concealed or Open Carry.

John Lott is the president of the Crime Prevention Research Center and the author of “More Guns, Less Crime”. In an article he authored for National Review titled “A Look at the Facts on Gun-Free Zones”, which was posted on 10/20/2015, he wrote that

Obviously, gun-control advocates don’t think that deterrence works. Despite statements from the killers themselves, they don’t think that rampage shooters factor the presence of guns into their plans. Most of these shooters want to go out with a bang and take a lot of people with them. They tend to be antisocial, attention-starved people. They want their names to be remembered.

These killers know that the more people they murder, the more media attention they will get. And they also know that the longer it takes for someone with a gun to appear on the scene, the more people they can kill.

If you still agree with gun-control advocates about deterrence, ask yourself if you would post a sign on your home announcing it was a gun-free zone. So why do we post these signs at public locations? There’s simply no good reason for it.

No. But, there is certainly a bad reason for it.

As Mr. Lott wrote, a Gun Free Zone Sign tells the bad guys where defenseless Americans are, like inviting a fox inside a chicken coop.

President Trump’s proposal is spot on.

As we have seen time and time again, by the time First Responders get to the scene of a Gun Massacre, they are too late and innocent lives have already been lost.

By training staff members and allowing concealed carry, psychopaths such as the Parkland High School Killer will think twice before coming onto a school property for a “turkey shoot”, as they will not know who is “carrying” and who is not.

If something such as the President has suggested is not implemented soon, we will be seeing tragedies like Parkland more often.

Why? The Liberals will tell you that it’s the guns’ fault and Americans own too many of them.

Well, first off, Americans have owned guns since this nation was born.

The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads,

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

This Amendment was written by our forefathers to protect Americans from not only foreign enemies and despots, but, internal ones, as well.

And, that is what makes Liberals nervous.

You see, without that Second Amendment, and the protection that it provides American citizens, an out-of-control president could, through executive orders, take away our personal freedoms.

Not to mention the fact, that “If guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns”.

Ask the people of Norway about that.

On Friday, July 22, 2011, a Norwegian gunman, disguised as a police officer beckoned his victims closer before shooting them one by one, claiming at least 84 lives, in a horrific killing spree on an idyllic island teeming with youths that left that peaceful Nordic nation in mourning.

The island tragedy unfolded hours after a massive explosion ripped through a high-rise building housing the prime minister’s office, killing seven people in a scene some likened to the aftermath of 9/11.

Per The Guardian, there was a reason that Breivik was able to kill so many innocent people:

The massacre on the island of Utøya is certain to lead to a security review, with particular stress on how Anders Behring Breivik obtained his weapons. Norway already has some of the toughest gun laws in the world, but they were apparently easily circumvented by the killer.

A licence is required to own a gun, and the owner must provide a written statement saying why he or she wants one. Many categories of guns, including automatics and some powerful handguns, are banned from sale altogether.

Hunting and outdoor sports are popular in Norway. But the laws are strict in these areas, too. Shotguns and rifles must be stored in a secure place, typically a specially designed gun safe, as must ammunition. Police have the right to inspect an owner’s home to ensure the law is being followed.

Transporting a weapon to a public place is also covered by legislation. The owner must have a good reason for carrying a weapon, must ensure it is unloaded and concealed from view, but not worn on the body, and must keep the weapon under constant supervision.

Under the Firearm Weapons Act, only “sober and responsible” persons over the age of 18 may obtain a gun licence. For handguns, the age requirement is 21. In 2009, additional legislation was introduced, further tightening Norway’s gun laws.

Perhaps because the laws are already so strict and gun crime is relatively rare, gun control is not generally considered a political issue in Norway, unlike countries such as the US where a citizen’s right to bear arms is guaranteed by the constitution and fiercely defended.

Gentle readers, the burden of responsibility in the aftermath of a senseless massacre such as the one which occurred at Parkland High School, needs to be singularly placed on the individual who planned and committed the heinous act, instead of the focus being placed upon the instrument he used.

After all, when have you ever witnessed, or even heard of, a gun pulling its own trigger?

If that were the case, Mississippi’s population would be significantly diminished as we are an Open Carry State.

And, we’re doing just fine, thank you.

However, I realize that I might as well be writing in Mandarin, in deference to any Liberals who are reading this post.

As the Great American Economist and Political Pundit Thomas Sowell once wrote,

“As for gun control advocates, I have no hope whatever that any facts whatever will make the slightest dent in their thinking – or lack of thinking.”

Until He Comes,
