Obama’s Banana Republic: Daylight Come and Me Wanna Go Home.

obamamyworkThere is no question that Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) is the most petulant President we have ever had in United States History.

If whatever Machiavellian Scheme he is working on at the time is foiled by the Republicans, usually because they have been forced to actually act on behalf of the American People, Obama’s modus operandi is to act like child who has been told to come in for supper on a school night. He usually throws a temper tantrum, surrounded by human props and/or shields, designed to distract the public from what an immature, shallow schmuck “the smartest man in the room” actually is.

A prime example of this petulance is the memorable tantrum/speech he gave after Congress voted down his Gun Control Bill, in which he attempted to take advantage of the massacre of American Children by a psychopath in Newtown, CT.

Obama, using some of the childrens’ parents as props, blamed everyone but himself for the failure of his attempt to deprive Americans of our Second Amendment Rights.

Now, the president’s petulance is showing again, as yesterday, after the House passed a continuing resolution to fund the government until Mid-December, but not Obamacare, the Manchurian President lashed out at Republicans during a speech at a Ford plant in Liberty, Mo., on Friday afternoon,

…So what Congress is doing right now is important. Unfortunately, right now the debate that going on in Congress is not meeting the test of helping middle-class families. It’s just they’re not focused on you. They’re focused on politics. They’re focused on trying to mess with me. They’re not focused on you. They’re not focused on you.

…Defunding Affordable Health Care would rob 25 million Americans of the chance to get health care coverage. It would cut basic health care services for tens of millions of seniors on Medicare already. That’s what House Republicans are fighting for.

And now they’ve gone beyond just holding Congress hostage, they’re holding the whole country hostage. One Republican senator called shutting down the government over the Affordable Care Act “the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.” I agree with him. But that’s the strategy they’re pursuing. House of Representatives just voted on it today.

Now, I tell you what, Missouri. The American people have worked too hard for too long, digging out of a real crisis just to let politicians in Washington cause another crisis.

This is the United States of America. We’re not some banana republic. This is not a deadbeat nation. We don’t run out on our tab. We’re the world’s bedrock investment. The entire world looks to us to make sure the world economy is stable. We can’t just not pay our bills. And even threatening something like that is the height of irresponsibility.

So what I’ve said is I will not negotiate over the full faith and credit of the United States. I am not going to allow anyone to harm this country’s reputation. I’m not going to allow them to inflict economic pain on millions of our own people just so they can make an ideological point.

[Republicans in Congress] Just do your job. Don’t be the other guy, be the guy who’s doing your job. No obstruction. No games. No holding the economic hostage — economy hostage if you don’t get 100 percent of what you want.

Nobody gets 100 percent of what you want. You guys know that in your own lives, in your own families. I don’t know how many people are married here, but you know you better learn not to expect getting 100 percent of what you want. Otherwise you’ll be divorced real quick. Especially you men, I’m telling you.

So you should expect the same thing — same common sense out of Congress. You should expect some compassion. You should expect some compromise. You should expect the conviction of leaders who wake up and go to work every day, not to tear something down, but to build something better; not just for today but for the world we want to leave our kids.

We are the greatest country on Earth…in spite of you, President Obama.

Earlier this past week, Reuters.com reported that

The number of U.S. residents living in poverty edged up to 46.5 million last year, the latest sign that an economic recovery marked by a stock market boom has not trickled down to ordinary Americans.

The figures from the Census Bureau on Tuesday highlighted the lingering scars from the 2007-2009 recession and added fresh fuel to debates over government austerity and widening income inequality. It could also renew calls to raise the minimum wage.

Although the number of people in poverty went up from 46.2 million in 2011, the national poverty rate was unchanged at 15 percent, the annual report said. The poverty threshold in 2012 was an income of $23,492 for a family of four.

“Today’s data underscore that it is time for Congress to pivot from a focus on austerity to an agenda emphasizing jobs and shared economic growth,” said Neera Tanden, president of the Center for American Progress, a liberal policy group in Washington.

The recovery from the worst recession since the 1930s has been marked by a jump in stock prices to record highs, aided in part by the Federal Reserve’s ultra easy monetary policy.

While the Standard & Poor’s 500 index gained 16 percent on a total return basis last year, including reinvested dividends, the Census Bureau report showed median household income slipped to $51,017 from  $51,100 in 2011.

The economy has struggled to sustain growth rates of more than 2.5 percent since the recession ended.

Although the bulk of the more than 8 million jobs lost during the downturn have been recouped, many of the jobs have been in services industries such as retail and restaurants that typically do not pay well.

Belt-tightening in Washington to slash the government’s budget deficit has significantly shrunk the social safety net.

About 16.1 million children and 3.9 million people aged 65 years and older were living in poverty last year.

Since you have taken office, Mr. President, there has been a steady erosion of the pillars of American Society: self-reliance, self-discipline, and self-responsibility.

From the moment you took office, with your stated philosophy that “spreading the wealth around is good for everyone”, average Americans, such as myself, have found themselves out of  their job, with their home and car getting foreclosed and repossessed.

More and more Americans have decided that the American Tradition of pulling yourself up by your bootstraps (with God’s help) and getting on with your life, just isn’t worth all the hassles.

In other words, Pookie does not want to get up off the couch.

Why should she be responsible for herself? She’s simply following the example of her president.

When things have gone wrong (and, plenty has) during your watch, Mr. President…you have blamed on someone else: Bush, Congress, or us “Bitter Clingers”, with our Bibles and guns.

And now, once again, one of your Machiavellian Schemes, Obamacare, is on the verge of falling apart….and you are on the verge of another temper tantrum.

I can’t wait to see if Senator Ted Cruz launches a filibuster against your Socialist Healthcare System.

If he does, your temper tantrum should be one for the ages.

You mad, bro?

Obama’s Gun Control Announcement: “So, This is How Liberty Dies…”

guncontrolToday is the day that President Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) is going to announce his plan to disarm law-abiding Americans. (If any of y’all think that anything he proposes today will keep guns out of the hand of criminals, I have two bridges over the Mississippi River at Memphis to sell you.)

The Washington Post has the story:

President Obama on Wednesday will formally announce the most aggressive and expansive national gun-control agenda in generations as he presses Congress to mandate background checks for all firearm buyers and prohibit assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips.

The announcement will set off a fierce confrontation with Congress over an issue that has riven American society for decades. Obama’s far-reaching firearms agenda has at best tepid support from his party leaders and puts him at loggerheads with Democratic centrists.

Days before his second inauguration, Obama is seeking to drive the guns debate in a way that contrasts with the accommodating approach he often took during his first term. In the weeks ahead, he will attempt to rally popular support to bend the will of lawmakers to vote for what he considers the ideal, not merely the possible.

“Yes, we can reduce gun violence, but it’s something we have to do together,” White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters Tuesday. “It’s something that cannot be done by a president alone. It can’t be done by a single community alone or a mayor or a governor or by Congress alone. We all have to work together.”

Obama will begin this effort Wednesday in the presence of children who wrote him letters after last month’s mass shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., and who have been invited to Washington to attend the rollout.

When news leaked out that ol’ Scooter was going to use children for props for his gun grabfest tomorrow, Conservatives’ ire got raised.  I know that mine sure did.

Megyn Kelly tackled the subject of Obama using children as props on her Fox News Program.

After it was revealed that tomorrow’s announcement on gun control will feature children standing beside the president, Fox News’ America Live panel debated whether those kids are being used “as props” to help the White House advance its desired policies.

Conservative radio host Chris Plante kicked off the debate by lamenting that this sort of move “has become de rigueur in American politics, but it’s clinical, it is shameless, it is the use of children as props to advance an agenda that existed long before the Sandy Hook tragedy.”

He continued to tear into the idea: “[The children] will be stacked according to skin color and ethnicity to frame the president’s face because it’s essentially part of the propaganda package as they present their bill of goods that will not solve the problem that we’re attempting to solve,” he said.

Host Megyn Kelly then brought up the fact that the children wrote to the president and were given permission by their parents to appear at the event, but asked if Obama was trying to “guilt the opposition.”

Liberal contributor Leslie Marshall responded that “I don’t think he’s trying to guilt anybody,” and that having children stand with the president is unlikely to sway minds on an issue so divisive as gun control. However, she cited the fact that previous presidents, left and right, have used children for major bill signings, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and Megan’s Law.

Kelly then challenged Plante to consider whether he’d be as outraged “if a Republican president came out and pushed an anti-abortion bill and had a bunch of children standing behind him.”

“Yeah, surrounded by infants, by preemies, when speaking against abortion,” Plante snarked. This is just how cynical things have gotten in this town, quite honestly. It’s purely for the imagery, which they recognize is probably more important than what’s in the legislation.”

Kelly then asked Plante whether he’d be more open to the president’s announcement if it included, in addition to some gun control measures, planned steps for “looking at” how the mental health care system and violent video games have contributed to a violent culture.

“There are cultural factors that most of us would acknowledge and accept also contribute to the state of affairs in the United States when it comes to young people and their willingness to kill a whole bunch of people,” Plante replied, before pointing the finger at “Hollywood movies” which he believes contributes to our culture “treat[ing] human life in a trivial fashion in a panoply of ways.” However, he said, “I don’t see the president pushing back against Hollywood or video game makers.”

He then went after the “macro-cynicism” of the Obama camp for essentially proposing stricter gun control laws “they wanted to propose before Sandy Hook and getting it through, essentially, on the backs of the tragedy and then using children as props to back up their essentially phony arguments that this is going to reduce the likelihood that something like this is going to happen again in the future.”

While researching the use of children by politicians, I happened to come upon a pdf article titled “Children and Politics”. I have no idea as to whom the author is, but they definitely got it right:

The (mis)use of children for political and propaganda purposes is linked mainly to the 20th century and mass political parties and movements such as communism and fascism. Sports, culture and other organizations for children and young people became tools in the hands of national political and religious movements and leaders.

National propaganda, particularly prior to the Balkan wars, was also spread through schools, textbooks, pupils’ organizations, choral societies, etc. Schoolchildren’s compulsory attendance at public events of national and political character was also a form of the involvement of children and young people in politics and the diffusion of political propaganda. The dissemination of books on national history, patriotic poetry, maps showing the territorial pretensions of the individual nations, and popular pictures of national heroes were methods used to raise the ”national awareness“ of the younger part of the population both in those countries that had gained independence (Greece, Montenegro, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria) and in those countries within the borders of Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire (Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Albania).

Nonetheless, the politization of children and young people and their (mis)use for political purposes assumed particular significance after the First World War under the influence of authoritarian and totalitarian regimes.

All evidence, as I  stated in yesterday’s Blog, points to the fact that Obama’s gun-grabbing announcement, being made today, has been years in the making, lying dormant, like an Alligator Snapping Turtle on the bottom of a lake, just waiting to grab a fish innocently swimming by.

Just as Obama and his minions are using the children standing up there on the podium today, they are also using the deaths of those sweet, innocent children, murdered by a madman in Newtown, Connecticut, as an opportunity to take away the guns of innocent, law-abiding Americans. Meanwhile, the MSM cheerleaders will spend the day trying to sell Americans on what a great speech their Dear Leader just gave.

I am sadly reminded of a classic line from a movie:

So this is how liberty dies…with thunderous applause.

Obama: Using Newtown for Political Extortion

obamaobliviousPresident Barack Hussein Obama has become downright shameful in his attempts to use an unspeakable tragedy to further his own political plans and schemes.  And, his ego won’t let him take “no” for an answer.

Last night on Fox News Special Report, Dr. Charles Krauthammer said:

I think the president invoking the massacre of children to essentially say the Republicans need to accept his terms of surrender in the negotiations is not just a non sequitur, I think it’s sacrilege. And it’s of a piece with the whole tone of his news conference and this is the way he conducts them generally, which is he is excessively self-righteous. He talks about the other side of being unprincipled, not interested in the national interest, slaves of ideology which he says makes no sense. And as you mention, invested in opposing him to the point they are willing to let the country suffer.

So it’s a combination of self-righteousness and narcissism. It’s just a very unpleasant tone and there is no reason he can’t either avoid that or give some credit to the other side for sincerity in just seeing a different way to approach the crisis the country has. I think that would be respectful but it’s a lot to ask of Obama and he never delivers on that.

Back on May 24th, Dr. K remarked that Obama’s narcissism would not allow him to replace VP Biden with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for the remainder of his Re-election Campaign.

In an article, written in response to this statement, posted on AmericanThinker.com, June 9, 2010, titled “Narcissist in Chief?”, Eileen F. Toplansky wrote:

…His contempt for America is staggering. His haughtiness towards the American electorate and his puffery with dictators in a bid for their admiration is breathtaking.

Furthermore, the president intimates that we are not capable of understanding and clarifying issues — Joe the Plumber could not possibly be accurate when he correctly asked if Obama’s ideas were, in fact, socialist. What does a guy who works with a wrench know about such things?

Obama accepts the notion that he is the messiah — that he and he alone can fix this country and, for that matter, the world. If ever there was an exaggerated achievement without commensurate accomplishment, the Nobel Peace Prize given to Obama would be it. He expects to be recognized as superior even when he has achieved nothing positive to show it. He ignores the evidence about global warming and man’s alleged interference because this simply does not comply with his demands — details be damned.

There are no substantive examples of his school achievements. His portfolio is razor-thin, and there is evidence that he did not author his own books, yet he rides on the crest of all-consuming power and privilege.

Author Rob Saar states that “people with narcissistic personalities tend … to deprecate and treat with contempt those from whom they do not expect anything (often their former idols). Their relations with others are often exploitative … Beneath a surface that is often charming and engaging, one senses coldness and ruthlessness.”

How often have we been privy to that allegedly cool demeanor of Obama’s turning into a dismissive disdain for anyone who does not agree with him and/or stands in his way? He distanced himself from his pastor of over twenty years because that relationship hurt his ends. He has knifed companies in the back that once financially supported him. He seems obsessed as he constantly bashes former President Bush and rails, yet again, against the oil companies and others. All of these entities receive derision and abuse from this man.

He can do no wrong in his own eyes, as he views “others as objects to be manipulated.” Arrogantly he dismissed a reporter’s question at a press conference that was supposed to be about the Daniel Pearl Freedom of Press Act!

He exploits all issues, making everything into a crisis, and yet when he accomplishes nothing to ameliorate the difficulty, he turns and blames it on everyone else.

Hence, his political leveraging of the horrible massacre of innocent children in Newtown, Connecticut into an attempt to force the House Republicans into bowing down, kissing his…ummm…feet, and acquiescing to his monumentally Marxist Fiscal Cliff Proposal, while simultaneously, using the same tragedy in an attempt to confiscate law-abiding citizens’ guns.

In October of 2008, on a campaign stop outside of Toledo, Ohio, Obama spoke to a plumber named Joe Wurzelbacher, who was concerned that, if elected president, Obama was going to raise taxes on small business owners, just like him. Obama told Joe:

…it’s not that I want to punish your success – I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you – that they’ve got a chance at success too.”

…I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

So, why do I say that Obama’s Fiscal Cliff Campaign and his renewed push for Gun Control Confiscation are tied together?

Almost a century ago, Marxist Revolutionary Vladimir Illyich Lenin wrote:

One of the basic conditions for the victory of socialism is the arming of the workers (Communist) and the disarming of the bourgeoisie (the middle class).

The arming of the workers…

In February of 2012, the IRS ordered 60 Remington Model 870 police 12 gauge pump action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Unit.

…In March DHS ordered 750 million rounds of hollow point ammunition. It then turned around and ordered an additional 750 million rounds of miscellaneous bullets including some that are capable of penetrating walls.

(August, 2012) The Social Security Administration (SSA) confirms that it is purchasing 174 thousand rounds of hollow point bullets to be delivered to 41 locations in major cities across the U.S.

The disarming of the Middle Class…

From the New York Times:

President Obama declared on Wednesday that he would make gun control a “central issue” as he opens his second term, promising to submit broad new firearm proposals to Congress no later than January and to employ the full power of his office to overcome deep-seated political resistance.

Now, boys and girls, I’m not one given to tin-foil hat conspiracy theories. However, if all this information I’ve compiled in today’s Blog doesn’t make you stop and take notice, then, I suggest you go back to watching The Kardashians.

The rest of us will remain vigilant.

It’s that “enemies, foreign and domestic” thingy that has us Americans, who are paying attention, a little worried.

Newtown: Obama, Progressives Gear Up to Take Our Guns

gun rights

You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.

Rahm Emanuel, Mayor of Chicago. IL, Former Obama Administration Chief of Staff

Yesterday, President Barack Hussein Obama spoke at a Memorial Service in Newtown, CT…and, of course, the cameras were rolling.

“I am very mindful that mere words cannot match the depth of your sorrow, nor can they heal your wounded hearts,” Obama said at an evening vigil in the grieving community of Newtown, Conn. “I can only hope that it helps for you to know that you are not alone in your grief.”

The massacre of 26 children and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary on Friday elicited horror around the world, soul-searching in the United States, fresh political debate about gun control and questions about the incomprehensible – what drove the suspect to act.

It also left a newly re-elected president openly grappling for bigger answers. Obama said that in the coming weeks, he would use “whatever power this office holds” to engage with law enforcement, mental health professionals, parents and educators in an effort to prevent more tragedies like Newtown.

“Can say that we’re truly doing enough to give all the children of this country the chance they deserve to live out their lives in happiness and with purpose? I’ve been reflecting on this the last few days,” Obama said, somber and steady as some in the audience wept.

“If we’re honest without ourselves, the answer is no. And we will have to change.”

He promised to lead a national effort, but left unclear was what it would be, and how much it would address the explosive issue of gun control.

“What choice do we have?” Obama said. “Are we really prepared to say that we’re powerless in the face of such carnage, that the politics are too hard?

Sounds to me like the Progressive-in Chief  wants to come take our guns away, Americans.

And, if that’s not blatant enough for you, boys and girls…check out this editorial being pushed as a news story, from abcnews.go.com.

Groups and lawmakers in favor of stricter gun laws haven’t wasted any time speaking out following the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., but the pro-gun National Rifle Association has been silent.

The NRA, which frequently communicates through social media, hasn’t tweeted since before the shooting and its Facebook page has been taken down, a day after the group boasted of reaching 1.7 million “likes.”.

On Thursday, a tweet went out from the NRA’s official account saying: “@NRA “Did you hear? Our #facebook page reached 1.7 million “likes” today! Thanks for being a friend!”

The NRA couldn’t be reached for comment regarding whether the deactivation of its facebook page was connected to Friday’s mass shooting.

The debate over the nation’s gun laws took center stage today, when California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said she intends to introduce an assault weapons ban on the first day of the next Congress.

Connecticut Shooting: Churches Services Honor Victims Watch Video

Adam Lanza used a Bushmaster .223 semi-automatic rifle at close range to kill children and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on Friday.

Two handguns were also found at the scene, but law enforcement officials described the Bushmaster as the Lanza’s primary weapon. A fourth weapon was found nearby. The weapons discovered at the school apparently belonged to a family member, possibly his mother, according to authorities.

The NRA was a trending topic on Twitter Sunday with thousands showing their support and distaste for the gun lobbying organization, which plays a significant role in American Politics. That role was denied by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in his appearance today on NBC’s “Meet The Press.”

“The NRA’s number one objective this time was to defeat Barack Obama for a second term. Last time I checked the election results, he won and he won comfortably,” Bloomberg said. “This myth that the NRA can destroy political careers is just not true.”

A number of the Sunday news talk shows including, ABC’s “This Week” invited an NRA representative on to their shows to discuss gun control. But the programs received a statement from the NRA declining to comment because details of the investigation into the shooting were still pending.

Evidently, Obama, his Administration, and all of his minions haven’t been paying attention to places where they’ve already taken away law-abiding citizens’ guns:

From dailymail.co.uk, October 27, 2009:

Gun crime has almost doubled since Labour came to power as a culture of extreme gang violence has taken hold.

The latest Government figures show that the total number of firearm offences in England and Wales has increased from 5,209 in 1998/99 to 9,865 last year – a rise of 89 per cent.

In some parts of the country, the number of offences has increased more than five-fold.

In eighteen police areas, gun crime at least doubled.

The statistic will fuel fears that the police are struggling to contain gang-related violence, in which the carrying of a firearm has become increasingly common place.

If they outlaw guns…

All of us average Americans will be helpless against enemies, foreign and domestic.

And, that seems to be the way Obama and the Progressives want it.
