Last December, England’s Prince Andrew was stripped of his title and all of the benefits that it brought because of the disgrace he had brought to England and the Royal Family through his escapades on Epstein Island. This past week, on his birthday, he was arrested for Misconduct involving classified documents which he had shared.
What I have found interesting is the fact, and it is well known fact, that then-Prince Charles cheated on beautiful Princess Diana with his now-wife Camilla on a regular basis and nothing happened to him. In fact, Queen Elizabeth allowed him to file for divorce from Diana.
As you probably know, nothing happens to any member of the Royal Family except with the permission of the king or queen. Therefore, King Charles had to allow Andrew’s title to be stripped from him and for Andrew to be arrested.
This whole episode of The Ongoing Saga of the Royal Family reminded me of a movie that I have watched several times and I’m sure you have, also.

Setting: A dimly lit private room at Balmoral. A fire crackles. Snow taps against the windows. Power hangs in the air.
Characters:
King Charles III
Prince Andrew
KING CHARLES (quiet, controlled, wounded)
I know it was you, Andrew.
You don’t deny it.
PRINCE ANDREW (nervous, defensive)
Charles, I swear—I was weak. They said it didn’t matter. I thought it was… handled.
KING CHARLES (steps closer, voice trembling)
Handled?
You went behind my back. You embarrassed the Crown. You made me look weak—in front of everyone.
PRINCE ANDREW
I’m your brother! I deserve respect!
KING CHARLES (suddenly explodes)
RESPECT?!
I defended you! I protected you!
And you broke my heart.
(Long silence. The fire pops.)
KING CHARLES (cold now)
You’re still my brother. That will never change.
(leans in)
But from this moment on… you are nothing to me.

What’s funny is that Fredo was Mama Corleone’s favorite and Andrew was Queen Elizabeth’s favorite.
The irony of the fact that it was documents and not Epstein Island Orgies that caused Andrew’s arrest reminds me of another movie.
In “The Untouchables”, Chicago Kingpin Al Capone was not brought down and put in jail because of his murders, bootlegging, or racketeering. He was convicted and sentenced for Tax Evasion.

Like I said, “We’ve seen this movie before.”
Until He Comes,
