Of Russian Bears, “Kenyan” Community Organizers, and Unrepentant Mooches

obamaputinbracketsLike every other “political pundit” out there, I have been writing a lot lately about the Ukrainian Situation… and, rightfully so.

The way that the Obama administration has handled this whole affair has been as comical as a Benny Hill Chase Scene with “Yakety Sax” playing in the background.

Perhaps, President Obama could keep his eye on the ball better if he and his wife were not trying to run every cotton-pickin’ aspect of our daily lives, while spending our money on their own self gratification.

For example, First Lady Michelle Obama or “Mooch”, as I call her, packed up the kids and “Mudear” and flew off to China for a family vacation at our expense.

According to The New York Times,

Michelle Obama’s trip to China starting on Wednesday will be non political the White House says. A people-to-people exchange emphasizing the importance that both nations place on education. As if to underscore the point no reporters are traveling with the first lady, and she does not plan to get interviews while there.

In other words, where Mooch is going and how she is spending our money is none of our business.

I saw on

twitter yesterday, where Liberal Rag, “USA Today”, listed  how many times our Former First Ladies visited China, as a way of sticking up for Mooch.

Of course, those First Ladies did not bring along their kids and mother, they actually accompanied their husband, the President of the United States.

While we’re on the subject of the First Lady, back in January it was announced that Subway restaurants and Michelle Obama were partnering together to produce a 41 million dollar campaign, lasting 3 years, in which Mooch will promote allegedly healthy food products, sold by the restaurant chain.

Since when did the wife of the President of the United States become an Advertising Spokesperson?

On the bright side, this little piece of propaganda will not last long, as the sight of “the Queen of taxpayer-funded vay-cays” promoting Subway Restaurants will do more damage than a mass outbreak of botulism.

But, I digress…

So, what is the Leader of the Free World doing while his wife blows taxpayer dollars in China, and Russia begins its annexation of Eastern Europe?

The Washington Post tells us…

President Barack Obama released an NCAA bracket Wednesday that, even by his own account, isn’t all that inspired.

Trying to rebound from years of busted brackets, Obama picked Michigan State to beat Louisville.

“It’s been awhile since I won my pool,” Obama said on ESPN, where he revealed his picks. “Michigan State, bring it home for me.”

As he has in the past, Obama played it safe, choosing two number one seeds – Florida and Arizona – to round out the Final Four. Louisville and Michigan State are both ranked number four.

“I know these are not imaginative picks, but I think they’re the right ones,” he said.

Picking Michigan State and coach Tom Izzo to win it all is a departure for Obama, who has in the past picked Kansas and North Carolina to win it all. He’s only been right once, when the Tar Heels won the 2009championship.

Well, his record at picking NCAA championship winners is a lot better than his record at picking winning foreign policy strategies.

So what is the point of my blog today? What am I trying to say?

I’m trying to say that if Barack Obama actually wants  to be the President, he should act like a President. He should exude confidence and strength. He should stand for honor and righteousness. He should be a figure admired on the world stage, not laughed at.

He and Michelle act as if they are still in Chicago, socializing with all of the celebrities and the rest of the Hoi Polloi.

When it comes to acting like a leader, Obama acts if he still believes he’s a community organizer… not the President of the United States.

Now, instead of greasing the palms of Chicago Politicians to get crooked judges to issue injunctions against his enemies, Obama believes that he can defeat Putin by issuing sanctions with no intestinal fortitude (or allies) to back them up.

I’ve got some news for ya, Scooter: Wearing Moms Jeans and a girlish bicycle helmet does not exactly strike fear into the hearts of our nation’s enemies. Nor does it command respect.

As a young, Dean’s-office-occupying, Collegiate Radical, Obama thought that he could “change the world”, starting with America. And, unfortunately for all of us who love America, he has certainly given it the old college try. However, he is finding out what young, idealistic Liberals find out when they grow up and land in a position of power: Your enlightened philosophy is useless against a strong-willed barbarian.

So now, Obama’s Achilles Heel has been exposed to Putin, Iran, Syria, and the rest of America’s enemies.  These barbarians have figured out that the Leader of the Free World is nothing but a pop culture junkie, who spouts platitudes while making empty threats, and taking harmless actions.

In other words, President Barack Hussein Obama is an embarrassment to the United States of America.

…and a wuss.

“The Prankster” Vs. Putin: Laugh Until You Cry

obamaputin31814The very deadly International Soap Opera in Crimea rolls on.

In an extraordinary day which redrew the map of Europe, fears were growing that widespread violence would erupt in the aftermath of Russia’s annexation of Crimea.

An Ukrainian officer was killed in a confrontation in Simferopol, just hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered an incendiary speech justifying Moscow’s reclamation of the former Ukrainian territory.

Several others were injured and the Ukrainian commander captured as the military facility in the Crimean capital was stormed by troops dressed in Russian camouflage kits and balaclavas.

The Ukrainian Prime Minister warned that “the conflict is shifting from a political to a military stage” and claimed that “Russian soldiers have started shooting at Ukrainian servicemen and that is a war crime”. His government, he added, has now authorised the use of firearms for its forces surrounded in their bases in Crimea.

However, there were indications that it was the separatist Crimean government’s recently created “Self Defence Forces” who had actually carried out the fatal attack. Local officials, meanwhile, claimed that “fascist snipers” had fired the first shot from a residential building and one of the injured was one of the defence force members.

The Ukrainian and Russian governments had agreed to a ceasefire until 21 March, aimed at preventing hostilities breaking out at the blockaded bases. But there was apprehension that the assault and the resultant death and injuries may break the delicate accord, with highly dangerous consequences.

The shooting began three and-a-half hours after Mr Putin had claimed Crimea for his country in a speech laced with invectives against the West and a robust reassertion of Russian power. At the end of his 66-minute address , punctuated by repeated applause, came the signing of documents which, the Kremlin declared, transferred control of Crimea from Ukraine to Russia once and for all.

There were expressions of outrage from the US, the European Union and the government in Kiev, but no immediate ratcheting up of the international sanctions Moscow has publicly derided as ineffectual. The G7 group of countries are to hold an emergency summit, at President Barack Obama’s request, in the Hague next week, when announcements of further measures are expected.

Obama recently issued sanctions against 7 Russian officials over Russia’s ongoing annexation of the Ukraine. They basically laughed in his face. In fact, one of them, a Deputy Foreign Minister, referred to Obama as a “prankster”.

Political Pundit Dr. Charles Krauthammer said about Obama’s announcement and the resulting laughter from Russia,

He’s being ridiculed by Russia, especially, because the statement and the policy are ridiculous. He doesn’t have a lot of cards, but he has some cards, and if he thinks that sanctioning seven Russians, out of a population of, what, 150 million, is a sanction, he’s living in a different world. The one thing that we could do is to respond to the Ukrainian request, when the president was here last week, they asked the Pentagon for weapons, and we said no, because somehow, to arm the victim of aggression is a provocation. … This response of, you know, we are not going to calibrate, as if Putin is, they’re going to sanction 11 Russians now, so I’ll have to stop where I am, is really preposterous. Again, if you’re going to do something, do it. Otherwise, say nothing, but this really is a humiliating response by a president who can’t even get the Europeans to join him in effective sanctions, which we could do.

“Humiliating” doesn’t even begin to describe Obama’s Foreign Policy ineptness.

Did you ever imagine, that in our lifetimes, we would hear the Leader of the Free World being referred to as a “prankster” in a International Crisis, such as this?

Now, we have had some pretty sorry United States Presidents during our life spans.

We had LBJ, who started the Great Society and effectively sentenced generations of Americans to live their lives dependent for their very survival on the Federal Government.

We had Richard M Nixon, who while a trendsetter in Foreign Policy, did not do so well in the Ethics Department.

Then we had Jimmy Carter, whom I have spoken of before, the peanut farmer from Plains, Georgia, who served aboard a nuclear submarine and wound up being an ineffectual and incompetent commander in chief, whose Foreign and Domestic Policies put us in a hole as a nation which we thought that we would never climb out of.

And, how about old Billy Jeff Clinton, or “Bubba” as I call him. While thanks to a Republican Congress, he did manage to balance the budget, his foreign policy was weak and brought us such terrorist acts as the USS Cole and the one perpetrated in New York City by the Blind Shiek.

Which brings us to the Foreign Policy Debacle which we find ourselves in.

Obama’s weakness and inexperience at organizing anything more complicated than a community, has been apparent to our friends and foes alike for quite some time now.

And, that, boys and girls, is why Obama had to pull all Official American Personnels out of Syria, yesterday.

It is also why Iran is still building a nuclear bomb. They fear Obama and his Administration about as much as Charles Barkley fears dandruff.

On September 23, 2009, Obama said the following words to the United Nations General Assembly:

In an era when our destiny is shared, power is no longer a zero-sum game. No one nation can or should try to dominate another nation. No world order that elevates one nation or group of people over another will succeed. No balance of power among nations will hold. The traditional divisions between nations of the South and the North make no sense in an interconnected world; nor do alignments of nations rooted in the cleavages of a long-gone Cold War.

Evidently, Obama failed to tell Putin that the Cold War was “long-forgotten”.

Obama, Putin, and Crimea: Jimmy Carter Deja Vu…on Steroids

obamacarterYes, I could see this one from Alaska. I’m usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as “an extremely far-fetched scenario” by the “high-brow” Foreign Policy magazine. Here’s what this “stupid” “insipid woman” predicted back in 2008: “After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.” Sarah Palin, 2/28/14

Yep. Isn’t it amazing that a “chillbilly” from Alaska could figure out in 2008, what escaped the “most transparent President and Administration evah” and “the smartest people in the room”?

And, now that United States President is looking like a gelding in the race to be the most powerful country in the World.

TheGuardian.com reports that

Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin clashed over the Crimea referendum during a telephone call on Sunday, as the US president dismissed claims from his Russian counterpart that the vote was legal and warned him that Moscow would be punished.

Obama rejected an argument from Putin that the vote, which Moscow claims overwhelmingly endorsed Crimean secession from Ukraine to become part of Russia, was “fully consistent with the norms of international law and the UN Charter”, according to the White House.

In a statement, it said: “President Obama emphasised that the Crimean ‘referendum’, which violates the Ukrainian constitution and occurred under duress of Russian military intervention, would never be recognised by the United States and the international community.”

Russian state media reported that 95.5% of people in the southern province, which has been occupied by Russian forces for the past fortnight, voted on Sunday in favour of leaving Ukraine. Some 3.5% were said to have chosen more autonomy while remaining part of the country.

A Kremlin statement said Putin also told Obama during the call, which the US initiated, that the case of Crimea was in line with the so-called “Kosovo precedent”. Putin has claimed that the recognition of the former Yugoslavian territory as a sovereign state in 2008 established a legal framework for secession that could be repeated by other separatist movements.

The White House’s read-out of the call did not mention such a discussion and instead said that Obama “emphasised that Russia’s actions were in violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”.

The US president was said to have complained to Putin that Russian military exercises on Ukraine’s eastern border “only exacerbate the tension” and warned him that the US and allies were “prepared to impose additional costs on Russia for its actions”. But he also “underscored that there remains a clear path for resolving this crisis diplomatically”, according to the White House.

White House aides had reiterated earlier on Sunday that the US would not recognise the results of the referendum and promised to introduce sanctions against Moscow within days.

Dan Pfeiffer, a senior adviser to Obama, told NBC’s Meet the Press: “This referendum is in violation of international law.”

Amid pressure on Obama from Republicans to take tougher action against Putin, Pfeiffer declined to rule out American direct military aid to Kiev, saying only that the US was considering “all ways of assistance” in light of the Russian military occupation.

The Republican senator John McCain said on Saturday during a visit to Ukraine by a bipartisan group of eight senators that the country required a “long-term military assistance programme from the United States” comprising “lethal and nonlethal” equipment to enable resistance against Russian forces.

Pfeiffer said senior Russians should prepare for “sanctions designations in the coming days” from the US, which is poised to introduce asset freezes and visa bans authorised last week by Obama. And he urged Congress to pass an economic aid package for Ukraine, comprising $150m (£90m) along with $1bn in loan guarantees.

“We are putting as much pressure on the Russians as we can to do the right thing,” Pfeiffer said. Of Putin, he asked: “Is he going to continue to further isolate himself, further hurt his economy, further diminish Russian influence in the world, or is he going to do the right thing?”

Back on March 3rd, the Arctic Fox was interviewed on Fox News by Sean Hannity.

“Well, anyone who carries the common sense gene would know that Putin doesn’t change his stripes,” Palin told Sean Hannity tonight. “He hearkens back to the era of the czars and he wants that Russian empire to grow again.”

Palin said that there is a link between energy and security. She said the United States isn’t developing its resources, but Russia is, and Putin is strengthening Russia’s power and influence in the world.

“People are looking at Putin as one who wrestles bears and drills for oil,” she said. “They look at our president as one who wears mom jeans and equivocates and bloviates. We are not exercising that peace through strength that only can be brought to you courtesy of the red white and blue, that only a strengthened United States military can do.”

According to Palin, other countries no longer see a nation to emulate in America due to Obama’s leadership. Now, she says countries are taking advantage of America’s current weakness.

40 years ago, Russia was making noise, acting belligerent, and supporting America’s other enemies, such as the Islamic Terrorist Nation of Iran. It was because America had a ineffectual Democratic wimp named Jimmy Carter as her President.

You see, America’s enemies do not respect weakness in an American President. A weak President emboldens our enemies and endangers the safety and very sovereignty of our country. And our Marxist/Alinsky-ite Follower of a President does not have the intestinal fortitude of a field mouse….and Putin knows it.

God help all of those nations who broke away from the former Soviet Union. Because, unless our gelding of a President turns into a stud overnight, they will all be saluting the Hammer and Sickle again…upon pain of death.
