Obama’s Legacy and the “Chicago 4”

untitled-98

“Nobody’s more hopeful than me. I’m Mr. Hope when it comes to these issues. I’ve said from the start that we are not as divided as we seem. And I think we’re gonna solve it,” – President Barack Hussein Obama, “A Townhall Discussion on Race Relations”, July 14, 2016

Think again, Scooter.

Foxnews.com reports that

Hate crime and aggravated battery charges were filed Thursday against four African American suspects who police say tortured a mentally challenged white man for as long as 48 hours, while shouting racial and anti-Donald Trump slurs — and part of the attack was streamed on Facebook Live.

“Let me be very clear: The actions in that video are reprehensible,” Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson told reporters during a news conference.

The suspects — Jordan Hill, 18, Tesfaye Cooper, 18, Brittany Covington, 18, and Tanishia Covington, 24 — were set to appear in Central Bond Court on Friday afternoon.

Police on Thursday filled in details from the case. The 18-year-old man’s parents had dropped him off at a McDonald’s in suburban Streamwood last weekend to hang out with Hill, who took him in a van to see the rest of the group in western Chicago, investigators said, adding that the man didn’t seem to know Hill had just stolen the van.

The man’s parents apparently thought he’d be spending the night with friends, according to police. They said he and Hill had gone to school together in Aurora, although they didn’t see each other frequently.

Instead, investigators claimed the group kidnapped the man, keeping him tied up for hours or more with his mouth taped shut in an apartment on the city’s west side. The video showed him cowering in a corner while someone yelled “F— white people!” and “F— Donald Trump!” At one point, the man was held at knifepoint and told to curse the president-elect.

The video also showed the man being kicked and hit repeatedly, while his scalp was cut. The group apparently forced him to drink water from a toilet.

The worst of the attack had started out as a “play fight” that ultimately escalated, police said. They told reporters the man slept in the van during the ordeal.

The man finally escaped on Monday after a neighbor on a lower floor of the apartment building complained about the noise and threatened to call the cops, police said. They told reporters the suspects barged into the neighbor’s apartment, giving the man an opportunity to get out.

The four also face burglary charges in connection to the break-in.

A police officer finally encountered the disoriented man walking down a street on Monday wearing only an inside-out tank top, jean shorts and sandals, despite the frigid weather. The officer said it was clear the man had been bloodied and battered.

Police became aware on Tuesday of the heinous video footage, FOX32 reported.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest wouldn’t say if he thought the incident was a hate crime, but did discuss the callous nature of the crime.

“They do demonstrate a level of depravity that is an outrage to a lot of Americans,” Earnest said. “I have not spoken to the president but I’m confident he would be angered by the images depicted.”

The suspects could be heard saying they wanted the video to go viral.

They now face a bevy of charges.

Hill was charged with aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, robbery, residential burglary; Cooper was charged with aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and residential burglary; Brittany Covington was charged with aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and residential burglary; Tanishia Covington was charged with aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Hill is from Carpentersville and the others are Chicago residents.

If somebody were to ask me what I believe that Legacy of the Presidential reign of Barack Hussein Obama was, I believe that one of the first things that I would show them is the picture of that young man beaten bloody by a bunch of thugs.

Ever since Obama got into office, all I have heard from him is the Rhetoric of Racial Division and Class Warfare.

It reminds me of all the historical conflicts which I used to read about, during the course in college which I took, titled “The Rhetoric of Social Protest“.

Karl Marx knew long ago that all you needed to do to touch the heart of the common man was to convince him of a shared struggle.

Vladimir Lenin took this a step further, by using the concept of a shared struggle to convince the Bolsheviks to help him overthrow the Czar of Russia and murder him and his family during the Russian Revolution.

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but fiery rhetoric spoken by a national leader has consequences.

President Barack Hussein Obama is as responsible for what has happened to Race Relations in America, as any thug wannabe in any city.

However, he is not alone in his responsibility.

Every race-baiter, local & national, who have fanned the flames of racial hatred, has the blood of any innocent person, police and civilians alike, slain in the name of Racial Division.

Do you remember when one half of the “Justice Brothers”, the “Reverend” Al Sharpton, led a march in New York City, capitalizing on the deaths of two of Michael Brown and Earl Garner?

During the march, the protesters chanted

What do we want? Dead Cops!

Somehow, America’s Professional Race-Baiters, from the Community Organizer-in-Chief, Barack Hussein Obama, on down, twisted the facts to make it America’s Law Enforcement Officers’ Fault that two thugs got themselves killed in altercations with police officers.

What ever happened to personal responsibility?

President Ronald Reagan once said,

There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect.

Compare it to these words:

It’s not to make excuses for that fact — although black folks do interpret the reasons for that in a historical context. They understand that some of the violence that takes place in poor black neighborhoods around the country is born out of a very violent past in this country, and that the poverty and dysfunction that we see in those communities can be traced to a very difficult history. – President Barack Hussein Obama, 7/19/2014

President Obama, for his own political reasons, reinforces, at every opportunity, the self-fulfilling prophecy that the Black Community is still shackled and limited in their freedom.

Which is an ironic statement, considering, as a Black man, that he presently holds the position of President of the most powerful country on the face of the Earth.

On November 25th of 2014, The Daily Caller reported that

Retired neurosurgeon and potential GOP 2016 candidate Ben Carson believes race relations in America, as a whole, have “gotten worse” under President Barack Obama’s leadership, saying he should take a ”balanced, objective look at things” instead of invoking the race card.

Carson made the comments to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt Tuesday night.

“I actually believe that things were better before this president was elected,” Carson told Hewitt, “and I think that things have gotten worse because of his unusual emphasis on race.”

“Can you explain more? What do you mean by that?” asked Hewitt. “How did they get worse, and how did he contribute to it?”

“Well, for instance, in the incident with Henry Louis Gates, Skip Gates and him calling out the police, and you know, how they always do this kind of thing, and the Trayvon Martin case, you know, if I had a son, this is what he would look like, rather than trying to take the balanced, objective look at things, and then, you know, what’s happened here,” responded Carson.

“And then the way, which really irritates me to some degree, the way he and a bunch of progressives manipulate, particularly minority communities, to make them feel that they are victims. And of course if you think you’re a victim, you are a victim,” Carson continued.

As I have related before, back in High School, during the 1974-1975 school year, I was a Sophomore Commissioner on the Student Council with a fellow named James. James was one of those students who were bused to our school. He went on to play football and run track. More importantly, James went on to have a 4.5 GPA, graduate high school as Valedictorian, make a 32 on his ACT, and receive a full scholarship to Harvard, and later, went on to Johns Hopkins Medical School. James worked hard and he achieved.

Millions of other Black Americans have, as well.

The current race-baiting and racially-based pandering by the President, his Administration, and all those who profit from it, locally and nationally, dishonors those who have achieved and has constrained those who might otherwise achieve.

I remember, as a 9 year old in Memphis, Tennessee, watching my parents’ black and white television as the National Guard was called into action on the night that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated.

I remember after that Civil Defense Announcement that President Lyndon Johnson come on national television to make the announcement of Dr. King’s death. I remember a feeling of helplessness and of fear, as a nine-year-old, that I had not felt before.

It wasn’t just the fact that we were living in Midtown Memphis, that made me afraid.

It was the fact of the out-of-control violence itself, that caused my consternation.

And now, all these years later, I have the same feelings tugging at my gut. It’s not because I can’t take care of myself, trust me, I can.It is because, those leaders, who have sworn to protect American Citizens, up in our nation’s capital and in cities across America, have skirted that responsibility, choosing to fan the flames of Racial Division, promising to “share the wealth” in the name of “Racial Equality”.

Meanwhile, ever since 2013, Black Youth Unemployment (16-19) remains at a rate 393% higher than everyone else’s in this stagnant economy.

…Even with George Soros hiring Black Lives Matter last summer to protest at Donald Trump Rallies.

So, to summarize, as the man who was supposed to be America’s first Post-Racial President leaves office, Racial Division is at an all-time high.

Obama did not build a bridge between the races, as was promised by his sycophants. He blew the existing one up.

Sterling & the NBA: Banning a Bigot or Threatening Our Freedom?

Donald SterlingBy now, you have no doubt heard that Los Angeles Clippers Basketball Team Owner, Donald Sterling, has been fined and banned for life by the National Basketball Association, due to racist comments he made in a private telephone conversation, which was recorded by his mistress, and then given to TMZ.

In this private conversation he told the girl, who is young enough to be the 81 year old Sterling’s granddaughter, that he did not want her to bring any minorities to the game. Sterling’s mistress is half-black and half-Mexican.

While the 2.5 million dollars he was fined, alone, seems to be a pretty severe punishment, the new NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, had to go ahead and hedge his bet and ban Sterling for life to prove that he will be a tough commissioner and that he is on the side of the players. Because, boys and girls, in today’s NBA, the players are running the league.

Don’t believe me? Consider this…

Do you remember several years ago, when members of the Indiana Pacers ran up into the bleachers, to catch Ron Artest, who was going after a guy in the crowd who was yelling at him?

Ron Artest, now known as Meta Worldpeace, is still playing basketball in the NBA.

Heck…I will go you one better.

Remember when Latrell Sprewell choked out his coach, PJ Carlesimo, in practice? Sprewell went on to continue his career after that.

So, now are we going to tap the phones of every single NBA player, coach, and official, to make sure that nobody says something bad about somebody?

Under Obama, this nation has become a bunch of “Pajama Boys”.

Now, I’m not arguing that what Sterling said was not reprehensible.

It was.

However, in retrospect, was it any worse than what former NBA player Larry “Grandma” Johnson said? The former New York Knickerbocker said that the black members of the NBA should form their own league.

I suppose, so they don’t have to deal with all of us crackas.

Come on, people. Racism is racism. Bigotry is bigotry

archiesammyBack in the 1970s, Liberal TV Producer Norman Lear created the classic series, “All in the Family”, which revolved around bigoted Archie Bunker, a working class stiff up in New York City. Perfectly portrayed by the great American actor Carroll O’Connor, the program followed the day-to-day life of Archie, as he dealt with his wife Edith, whom he affectionately called Dingbat, his daughter Gloria, and his son-in- law Mike, whom he called Meathead.

Lear produced the series in order to show America how stupid bigotry was. What he didn’t count on, was the fact that Americans saw a bit of themselves in the character of Archie Bunker. And, instead of Americans laughing at him about his character flaws, we laughed with him.

The character of Archie Bunker, while flawed with prejudices, turned out to have a heart of gold.

And, America fell in love with him.

Of course, back then, our skin was thicker. We handled our own problems.

For example, there was a bully who sat behind me in 7th Grade. He was twice as big as I was, and took great glee in making fun of me and trying to intimidate me. One day, I had had enough. I reached under my desk, took hold of my 2s  (tom) drumsticks and smacked him right between his beady little eyes. We were both sent to the Assistant Principal’s Office, where I explained my actions to Mr. Norville, pur Assistant Principal. After laughing in covert approval, he told me to get back to class.

Back then, we didn’t need any government programs to tell us “how to handle bullies”. Our parents raised us to take care of them ourselves.

But, I digress…

We are all prejudiced to a certain extent. Prejudice does not have to be about race. It can be about personality, body type, political affiliation, or geographical location.

The NBA has set a dangerous precedent here.

While Donald Sterling is lower than the belly of a snake and exhibits all the class of Rosie O’Donnell at an all-you-can-eat buffet, to ban someone for life over a private conversation, threatens Freedom of Speech and the expectation of privacy which we, as Americans, hold dear.

Is this a continuation of the atmosphere that President Barack Hussein Obama has created from his use of the NSA, IRS, and unmanned drones to intrude into the private lives of Americans?

The last nation to spy on their citizens in such a manner was the Soviet Union.

Again, I’m not saying that Sterling does not deserve punishment.

However, even an immoral libertine like Sterling, has Freedom of Speech and an expectation of privacy under our Constitution.

For the NBA to ban the immoral Sterling over a private phone conversation taped by his immoral, gold-digging mistress, pulls them down into the same mud hole as the two of them.

It is an unseemly situation all the way around.

One which could set the stage for a Liberty- threatening one.
