Here’s your quick thought for this Sunday morning: America is in the midst of a brand new Civil War. This time it’s not over slavery or one part of the country wanting the rich economic resources of another. This time it’s between traditional American faith and values and a political ideology that proclaims that there are no boundaries, immorality and perversion are to be glorified, and avarice and gaming the system are admirable goals. This political ideology denies the biological facts that there are only two genders, male and female, and proudly proclaims that whatever fictional psychological self-image that some misguided individual comes up with must be accepted because that’s a good thing. In the Old Testament of the Bible, we read about civilizations meeting their end because of behavior like this. Without a moral compass and a belief in traditional right and wrong, through God, his Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, one might succeed in the short run, but there are consequences in the long run. If those who are embracing this failed political and cultural ideology that is threatening to take over America, filled with all of its blessings, are not legally resisted by those in authority and those who want a bright blessings-filled future for their children and grandchildren, America will instead face a dystopian future reminiscent of all the apocalyptic movies you’ve ever seen. The good news is that there is always hope. The same Giver of Hope who inspired Americans before us is still available for all those who seek him today. Have a blessed Sunday. God Bless America.
